Walked in for my order and I was instantly greeted by a miserable woman who didn’t seem like she wanted to help me. My order for 2 consisted of eggs and potatoes was around $30. Obviously inflation is causing many places to increase their $ amount but I feel that is a bit much. Our meal was not how I remembered it being at all. It’s a shame to not only have been treated poorly by the front end/ hostess but to then also receive a less then quality meal for that price. This experience was very frustrating and I will not be returning.
The staff was great and very friendly. However I was very disappointed with my food order. I ordered fried calamari and it had no black olives, no crumbled feta cheese. The marinara sauce tasted like it came straight out of a can, no flavor at all and for $9.95 the portion size was kinda small considering it had only banana peppers! (See photo).
This place overcharges you for your meal instead of giving us the breakfast special the waitress turned around and made us pay for just eggs and then the other things we had with it for two people to eat and three people to have something to drink they charge me 30 some odd dollars for a breakfast that was bullcrap never going there again they are so overpriced and they dont give you the prices that are on the menu
The food was disappointing. My pancakes were overcooked, the eggs done just right and my well done home fries pretty much just boiled potatoes, nothing browned and some were cold. Sausage was dried out and served almost cold.Service was very good!I havent eaten here in years, obviously its changing. It will be years before I return if at all. Too bad, the food was great at one time. Its taken on a bit of a dingy look inside also.
This has to be the worst possible restaurant in Rochester so I ordered a steak medium rare it was way over cooked the waitress came up to me and asked me if everything OK I told her about my complaint and she just brought me the receipt and walked away I can give a lower than one star I would Like who wants to pay almost $40 for a piece of charcoal
Been there a few times and each time myself and those with me have had a great meal.Their “plate” is the best in the city. If you just want a burger and fries this is the place to go, but their menu is insanely huge in case you are in the mood for something else.Definitely a place to go to and try if u have not before.
I would have to say this place is probably one of the better diners in the Rochester area. It is a good Rochester staple owned by Greeks and you know that they make great great diner food. Ive only ever had clubs and or GYROS (YEEER-OHs) not like in gyroscope... Please pronounce it correctly.... when Ive been there it hasnt been too busy but food comes out pretty quickly and Ive never had a problem with anything of orders. If you want to run for a quick bite to eat Id say this is a place to go for sure.
I just ordered food from them this morning through grub hub. They completely forgot have of my food. This is the restaurants fault.I called them to ask them what happened and the woman working there very rudely told me to hang on and then straight up hung up on me. I tried calling back and they wouldn’t speak with me.My husband walked in because they refused to answer my calls after hanging up on me and two of the girls working there called him the “n” word and told him to leave. These people are trash and scum bags. Please don’t support them.
My wife and I had a fish fry here last night and it was awesome. The service here is always great as we are here every Saturday morning for breakfast with friends but this was our first time here for dinner. I hate that I forgot the servers name but she was wonderful and checked on us even though she was very busy.
Service was great. Kaylee was our server, so not bashing our service. However, the coffee that my wife and I almost paid for $3.00 a cup for tasted like dirty water. The potatoes had such a horrible after-taste even after I put salt, pepper and ketchup on it, the flavor still didnt go away. The biscuits and gravy were also so pasty and flavorlessI dont mind paying high prices for breakfast diner food but at least back your prices up with the quality.
Um the food pretty decent definitely can be alot better, they are not flexible at all for substituting certain items if you do not eat meat, so just scrap the meat off your plate if you dont like your meat touching your food at all this might not be the place for you.
It was a bit busy but its the weekend so thats to be expected. The food was good though I ordered something simple. I did however have a cup of vegetarian chili on the side and it was amazing. The service was a tad slow but our waitress and bus-woman were both wonderful. Id recommend if youre looking for a simple family setting.
We were very pleased to find this restaurant was practicing covid safety requirements. The seating was spaced far enough that we felt safe to eat breakfast there. They also had a couple tables set up with folding chairs outside. All condiments were brought in individual containers or packets. We enjoyed our breakfast, the pancakes are light and fluffy without being dry. They suggested the addition of onions to our home fries, which was quite tasty. The only drawback was that all the multiple TVs were running Fox News nonstop. Other than that staff was helpful and friendly and efficient, so we will likely return.
Our food was pretty bad but the table next to us found a bolt in their cup of chili and thats so wild and just absolutely disgusting. I wouldnt have believed it except for I saw them hand the bolt they found in their chili to the waitress with my own two eyes. Will not be coming here again.
Great Greek Salad, very filling will definitely return for another one soon. Fast service and plates came out in a timely manner. Waitress was friendly and returned frequently to check on our status and offered coffee refills each time. In wasnt busy for a Monday night an hour or more before closing; just one other couple and a gentleman. I havent been here in a few years, the newer store must take a huge load off the staff on the weekend night crowds which there was always a long wait for a table. Glasses and silverware seemed spotless unlike some diners. Extra napkins and straws and all of the condiments that one would need were at the table. Prices were comparable to other diners in the city. Huge menu to select from ranging from Breakfast to Prime Rib Dinners. We will be going back to try other menu items. Go check it out, this was the Original East Ridge Family Restaurant now.
East Ridge Family Diner is an enjoyable place to relax and have a great meal. From breakfast through dinner, yummy desserts or even a mimosa in the morning their friendly staff will take great care of you and they are keeping this restaurant very clean during this time with covid-19. You may want to make a reservation on the weekends if you dont want to wait. This is definitely a restaurant worth frequenting.
Ordered an appetizer and told waiter is was over cooked she returned with the appetizwr and said her manager said nothing was wrong with it. The manager came to the table and told us other customers buy it and nothing was wrong with it and asked what did we expect her to do
The food the service was great until someone started mopping right near me with the smell of bleach and I dont know what else is in the bucket and dirty. I almost had to puke. I dont understand how is it possible that theyre going to decide to mop with chemicals in the water. I thought there was some kind of policy about cleaning or mopping at a restaurant near people when they are eating. Management need to get their act together if they want people to continue coming to their restaurant to eat. feel sorry for the waitress who work hard to serve you and it takes that kind of senseless act to cause you to leave and never come back.
It was terrible I had 2 out of town visitors with me..We order Fish dinners on 8/21/2021..Flies kept landing on our food...I was so Embarrassed..So they really didnt eat much also landing on the straws of the Pepsi we order..Never again..And the bill was 75.00.. the next day I called the Restaurant and the person answer claim she was the manager her Response was yes we have a problem with the Flies this time of year..And she had that I dont care Attitude..No Compassion at all Ive always dine out never had that problem.... So I Rate That Restaurant a 0.. Dont go there Unless u want flies in your food..$75. 00 Wasted.
Besides the polite staff the food was very bad. I got meatloaf with mashed potatoes and when it came to the table it was only luke warm... My sons soup was very greasy and the salad was obviously from a bag with old grape tomatoes that looked like someone took a nibble into it first. I still ended up paying over 65 dollars for less than mediocre dinner food.
Brought my girls in for Easter morning for breakfast after church and there was a mouse running around the dining room. Watch the Staff walk around with mouse traps trying to catch the mouse obviously there is a mice infestation that the mouse was running around in a full dining room. When I mentioned it to the girl at checkout they did nothing to do right by me with the bill we hope we dont get sick from eating there.
One of the worst breakfasts Ive ever had. My eggs were undercooked and runny, and my steak was dry and overcooked. The server never checked on us after bringing the food, and when I addressed it with the owner, her resolution was to bring the server over and grill her in front of us. Horrible management and we will never go back.
A terrible place. Waitress came up no eye contact and she complained about how tired she was. And it was very slow. The food came out 45 minutes later and cold.We decided we didnt want the food and wanted to leave. We didnt even try it.The manager was horrible with no manners. They called the cops and we explained how we didnt even touch the food and showed them we didnt even touch. We ended up paying for food that never touch or eaten. We will never go back in there
I ordered through grubhub, got five French dips. Ordered different sides with each, and every single one was wrong. Also ordered 2 chocolate desserts, only received one. Basically all of my order was incorrect. Food was decent, but not worth the time if everything is incorrect.
Delicious Homestyle food served with a smile. With all the chain restaurants in the area I always prefer a local Diner and the Eastridge will not disappoint you. Food cooked to order great variety in the menu beautiful display case of desserts as you enter but Ive never had room for any😆
We went in with high expectations as the menu was plentiful with lots of great choices but was quickly disappointed. The service was quick but thats because the food wasnt cooked. The stir fry was still cold straight out of a microwave bag. The pork dinner was so dry I couldnt even cut it with my knife. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else.
I had breakfast there this morning and when my food arrived after ordering eggs Benedict the size of the piece of Canadian bacon that was on the English muffin look like a pea on a drum it was tiny and charging 1099 for this seemed a little outrageous after complaining to the manager then the owner they refuse to do anything about it I will never eat at this place again and restaurants are crying out for patrons after Covid and this is how they treat customers.
The food was pretty good and service was good. My main problem here is the menu prices, which are quite high. Over $4 for a small bowl of French fries? And thats just one example. Everything on the menu is just expensive - more than any other diner around. Been eating here for many years and was quite shocked when I saw the prices. I dont mind paying more for excellent food and service in a finer dining establishment, but this is a diner - not a fine dining place.
I had breakfast and it was very good. The coffee was ok but the excellent service from our waitress keeping it hot, helped.Eggs, bacon, home fries and toast were all done perfectly. Food was hot and there was a minimal wait to get it (5 minutes approx.)Ill definitely return when possible.EDIT: I did return and had a terrible breakfast. Home fries seemed like they were yesterdays, food was cold and service wasnt even close to good. I have no idea how a restaurant can be so different unless the whole staff is changed, which didnt seem to be the case.Im not sure if I want to try again, it was that bad. -6 stars for this visit.
My Mom is going to be 101 years old next month. This is her favorite restaurant. Had a fantastic time. Great comfort food! Plenty of variety. Daily specials. Senior portions. Breakfast all day. Very reasonable prices. Dozens of dessert choices, all homemade. We have started with dessert sometimes. A family oriented restaurant. Great service!
The food good and the price was reasonable. The restaurant has some handicap parking in front and more parking (not labeled handicap) in back. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. There are a few tables, but they are not close to the entrance. (There are more booths than tables.) The restrooms, separate multiple occupancy men’s and women’s, are small and the stall in the men’s room was not wheelchair accessible.
This place has its calling. Great staff and chill environment. Remember folks this is a family restaurant/ diner. If you need a quick bite, you got it. If you want to talk with family or friends, they do that. Lots of choices on the menu. Before getting adventurous, ask. Yes, ask. Excellent front of house, relatively clean. Kitchen can bang a dish out. Generous portions.
Today I just came back to Rochester to visit some family and friends. So while I was here I was starving a lot so I went to the locally owned East Ridge Family restaurant the food was great and the waitress was kind and funny she took care of me and my friends nicely.
One of my favorite diners on this side of the city. The staff is very friendly, down to earth family feel. Its large enough that youre not on top of others but has that small town feel of a mom&pop diner. Ive never had anything I didnt like or wasnt good and its reasonably priced good food of all kinds to suit whatever mood you might be in or craving youre having.
Ive been coming here for the past 10+ years and Ive rarely been disappointed. Great selection of food, big portion sizes and kind attentive staff. Prices are good for the amount of food youre getting. Also they stay open quite late which is great for the late-night crowd. They definitely got my 5 stars, keep it up EFR!
Manager is very rude and defensive when simply inquiring about a very late delivery order. Very unprofessional mannerisms, which makes me question if I was speaking with the manager or not. She spoke like an immature teenager. Then when I got my order (1 hour and 35 minutes, LATE- over 2 hours from the time the order was placed), the only thing warm was my orange juice. None of the toast was actually toasted. Instead they sent buttered bread with my cold scrambled eggs and my cold bacon. I have been a patron of EFR for over 15 years. I wont be ordering take out or be walking in again, after that phone call and meal...Wow.
I wish there were negative stars as our experience was awful. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich, I asked for it w/o the bread. It was brought to the table and my first thought was that the color of the Beef was a little odd. It was also laying in water on the plate and covered with brown gravy. I cut into the meat and it was all fat and stringy, couldnt cut it. The gravy had no taste to it whatsoever. I decided to send it back, asked for a simple chicken salad sandwich. Well, that was worse, I seriously had to search to find any chicken in it, it was a load of celery and watered down mayonnaise - disgusting! The waitress was very good, she took the beef dish off our bill, but not the chicken salad sandwich, which she knew I hadnt eaten with the exception of the first bite I took. She did not ask about the sandwich and why I hadnt eaten it. Of course I dont know how much back up they get from ownership. Will NOT go back to this place
My husband and I love the service and food. There porterhouse steak is out of this world, the side salad is perfect, the warm turkey and swiss melt on rye is unbelievable along with the French onion soup. Your order is always correct and ready on time. The staff is always polite and sweet. My husband and I order from then 2-3 times a week.
Food is mediocre at best. The only thing worth getting is breakfast, and to be honest its way overpriced. You can get WAY better food for half the price up the street at parkside. And most the waitresses are pretty miserable. Ours smelled like an ashtray when she brought our food over. This place used to be pretty good back in the 90s. Its sub par all around now.
Consistently a pretty good meal experience. Has Greek Staples, but also has American diner food, and even has steaks. The dessert selection is pretty good too, the peanut butter pie has been a winner. We dont really get breakfast here, but we go here often for dinner.
Nice Family Restaurant ... lately the prices have gone up and better opportunities exist for a lesser priced meal ... apparently, the management is trying to save money little by little ... price increases, chilly interior (keeping the thermostat low), charging for incidentals (I got charged for a slice of onion for my hamburger). VERY nice servers ... never a wait.
Its a diner. They dont pretend that they are anything different. Portions - very good. Flavor - everything was good except the grave was bland. I had to keep salting it. They do serve beer and wine, at reasonable prices - never a bad thing. Friendly staff. The place is clean.
We went to East Ridge Family Diner today for lunch with another couple. I ordered a Ruben. It was very good. My friends husband had a shaved steak sandwich which he seemed to enjoy. Both my husband and girlfriend had the saddest looking pancakes I have ever seen. They were not the fluffy pancakesthat I expected to see. They were FLAT. The batter probably should have been discarded. They willnever be ordering pancakes there again. We probably will not return because pancakes are the onlything my husband ever orders at diners.
Im not impressed with this place. The only veggie they offered tonight was canned peas. The pork was ok from what i saw but i didnt taste it. I had the incredible burger, which was 1 of only 4 things they offered for vegetarians. The others were vegetarian lasagna and veggie chili. The burger was ok in texture, but dry and overcooked. The bin was toasted, which was a plus but otherwise it wasnt something id order from there again. The service was blah. The food got to the table soon enough, but the waiter took forever to come back when we said ee werent ready. The soup came sy the same tobe but the French onion soup came out a few minutes later, they probably just labeled the other shots out but didnt amount fir the time it took to melt the cheese for the French onion. My son got chicken fingers which were great, for frozen things. But waaay to much bbq sauce and it was like ketchup with sugar.I strongly suggest you go here if your drink or high or dont really care much about your food and its 4 sm.
Terrible service... only received half of the order... and it was ice cold. For $30+ dollars of food orders one would expect better... owner was rude unwilling to make good for their mistakes. Will never patronize again and will make sure ALL my friends and colleagues are well aware.
Hello everyone my name is Luis. One morning I went to the East Ridge Road Family Restaurant 5 minutes before 11 oclock. They took me to a table and sat me and I try to order breakfast. The waitress explain to me that the cook has shifts turnovers at 11. I thought I had 5 more minutes before 11 but she suggest lunch. I didnt want lunch I want breakfast she said that she was going to try what she could do and talk to the chef. Can you believe she had me waiting for 20 minutes. The food is okay but the service is awful by the way check the bathroom they say if the bathroom is clean the kitchen is clean thank you for reading this you have a great day.
We stopped for breakfast and It was quite busy, we waited about 15 minutes to be seated (which was no big deal) the waitress took our order and brought or coffee and hour passed by and our food was not done and our waitress had not checked on us once. We decided to leave so we went to the front desk and asked to pay for our coffee and explained that our food was taking too long and the girl at the counter did not cared one bit. She did not offer to check on our food, she didnt even asked where were we seated, she did not sked or checked with or waitress she just charged us for our coffee and that was it. We waited for over an hour to have coffee and leave hungry and disappointed. The one time before we visit this place I found a hair on my food and since the waiter didnt check on us at all I ended up leaving without eating as well.BAD service no hospitality whatsoever
Stopped for breakfast after working an overnight. The only thing hot was the coffee, the hash browns left a literal puddle of greese on the plate, and the waitress was utterly inattentive. I left full, but the stomach cramps and issues I had afterwards leads me to conclude that leaving hungry would have been preferable.
I wouldnt recommend going here. My last three visits were progressively worse. The food is either incredibly salty (which I normally like actually) or cardboard bland. Ive tried a variety of items there in the past two years and nothing was good :( The last meal was so disproportionate, it ended up being what amounts to a large bagel with one tiny pile of scrambled eggs and half a piece of cold cheese thrown on top for $12. No thanks... there are way too many options for dining to waste money here guys.
Used to be the best diner around, but the last few times that we have visited the establishment we have been extremely disappointed. Certain foods are flavorless and then they add flavor to dishes that dont require it! Spoke with the owner tonight.....she really isnt interested in the feedback.
I love this place. it feels like a classic diner. Some people said dont eat here, but I think it had more to do with some riff from the Irondequoit history. I think that stuff is dumb. I like their food and they always seem to have some new menu items. I mean, Nitro coffee? Aww Yeah!!! Good prices and the staff is always nice.
Ive been generally happy eating here but last week I ordered a Rubin with steak fries. It had 1 1/2 slices of corned beef. So, in effect, it was a sauerkraut sandwich. All for $11.99. I felt cheated but I wasnt in the mood to complain. Instead, I recommend the chicken parmesan panini. My wife was very pleased and it was the same price!
Pleasantly surprised, the restaurant was open a little bit later then most in the evening..the restaurant was warm and cozy service was friendly and the food was very good the price was about normal and the desserts were absolutely gorgeous I will be going back to this restaurant again! Handicap accessible and everything was good and clean
Atrocious food, atmosphere is TVs with fox news. $ 11.50 panini with one piece of turkey and cheese that han not been melted (but was advertised this way.) Scalding hot plate served to children... no consideration of table. Manager uninterested in dealing with issues when brought up. Will not return.
It stunk . My hot roast beef sandwich was was over done on the roast and the gravy was definitely not homemade. My husband had Mac salad along with his fish fry .it was funky tasting .To much celery . Fish fry was good . The New England clam chowder was bland ,not homemade at all. Wont be back sorry.
My family and I visit East Ridge Family Restaurant quite often. We all seem to have completely different preferences, so the easiest solution is to visit ERFM so we can just get what we want. They serve breakfast all day, and they have a pretty extensive menu. We can always find something we like, and we have our go-tos. Then theres the staff, which is always consistent, friendly, and happy to serve. We recommend this diner to anyone looking for something like a homecooked meal, or breakfast all day. Also, their Greek selections are fantastic.
SUB PAR RESTAURANT ALL AROUNDI ordered Biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs over hard and specifically said no runny whites. Eggs were only slightly cooked with very runny whites, GROSS! My friend ordered french toast and one scrambled egg...They charged us $3 for ONE egg!! When I asked for confirmation on the price of the egg, the cashier walked away and some other female walked up, looked me up and down with eyes popped open, like I had 3 heads. Im not the one charging $3 for one egg...
Our family loves us some us some East Ridge Family Restaurant! Whenever we are in Irondequoit we make sure we stop and grab a bite to eat. For the most part, we make it to East Ridge for breakfast or brunch. I am not a pancake type of girl but their chocolate chip banana pancakes are absolutely delicious. I can only make it through one of the pancakes just because they are so big!! An added benefit is that they have French Vanilla coffee creamer! Yum!
Slow service steak was overcooked and tough mash potatoes were ok but not the greatest for and had to ask for dinner rolls for a dinner..and when has for take out containers we got small ones for items that would not fit..for the prices that they charge the food should have been alot better then it was will look for a different place next time..was not happy I use to go there all the time bit the prices keep going up and quality this time not up to the price...
This restaurant stays open pretty late to I guess and it has all kinds of great food I go there for veal parmesan its awesome Italian dishes hamburgers anything you want they got it more or less nice atmosphere as soon as you walk in you see cakes and pies in a case awesome desserts waitresses are very nice also prices arent bad I go every once in awhile for different stuff to eat for dinner but dont get me wrong Im sure they have breakfast lunch and dinner check it out have a good time

2022-06-29My wife and I decided to go grab a fish fry for dinner last Friday night. We decided for one of us to get the fish fry, the other to get the do fried scallops, and then share. Man, that was a good idea. Everything was hot, crispy, and tasty, except for my macaroni salad, that was no big deal. And the service was friendly and quick. It was a nice experience after the pandemic for 2+ years. Keep up the good work.

2021-07-28Friendly staff & food was delicious. Beautiful deserts up front are made locally. They appear to be in the process of updating their dining room. Would eat here again, & next time Ill be sure to leave space to try some pie or cheesecake 🙃

2022-05-25Thursday morning. The birds were chirping. The sun was shining and the air was fresh. It was such a nice day that I decided to enjoy my breakfast outside under the umbrella. I turned on some jazz on my phone and enjoyed a delightful tasty breakfast. Everything was prepared just right and sitting outside was calming.

2022-05-03The staff was pleasant and very attentive. We were sat immediately, given coffee and placed our order. The food was prepared quickly and everything was hot and delicious! I even had half of a Greek omelet to take home for later.

2022-04-01Ordered a fish dinner with French fries and French onion soup. The French onion soup was slightly hotter than warm and Im not sure how you can make French fries tough. Must be they fried them, nobody ordered them so they sat. I ordered them, then they throw them in the fryer again. Tough like an old piece of shoe leather

2022-06-26Breakfast was good, seated right away but I think my car was cooler with the windows up. Maybe sauna/breakfast is a new thing? Literally ran out of there after we ate to cool down in the car.

2022-06-18Friend and I went here for first time and we left after 20 mins being seated as no server attended us. Also while we got up nobody on the staff took noticed.
