I have a long haired Scottish Fold Kitten with a tremendous amount of floof. Even with regular brushing, I wasnt able to keep him from getting matted, and it became a compounding problem because he felt like he couldnt groom himself and so he gave up which only made it worse. I knew I needed to get him shaved but he doesnt like being manipulated against his will for extended periods (who does, frankly?). My regular vet here in Bay Ridge no longer does sedated grooming. I brought him here to have him get a sedated lion cut, and they did an amazing job. Their price was very fair especially considering their location, and everyone was extremely attentive and polite. I will definitely be bringing him back here any time he needs a shave, or for anything my local vet cant handle!
As a first time client I could not be happier -from start to finish a pleasant experience! Super clean and modern. NO unnecessary wait time. The vet tech completed a very thorough profile on our Frenchie and asked me all sorts of questions. Dr. Manning was great. Amazing bedside manners, patient and very thorough. I asked more questions than I probably should have but got reasonable answers that made sense to me. Eddie did not get anything that wasnt necessary, quite the contrary. I feel our dog is in excellent hands with Dr. Manning and we are considering having Eddie neutered by him.
I am a long time client & through out our relationship East Side has been nothing short of fabulous! I can not say enough about entire staff. Of course our Dr. (Dr.Landsman) & our favorite technician (Thaisha) are family to both myself and my cat Lucy. They have stayed by our side & held hands with sincerity & love. the facility is spotless, the front desk crew is welcoming and efficient at pay time, explaining your charges before taking payment. Forever grateful for our East Side Animal Hospital!
I adopted a dog and I am choosing a vet right now. I called the East Side Animal Hospital to learn about their services and the lady on the phone was extremely rude to me. She almost yelled at me that I have to their client before she can tell me anything. After such treatment I definitely will not become their client!!
DR. Manning is a great veterinarian! He saved the life of my teacup PomeranianI will always bring my dogs to himI bought her at a fancy uptown pet storeWhen we got her home she was extremely sick.I brought her to Dr. Manning who is very experienced with small breed dogsShe had to stay there a few days and the vet assistant was so caring he stayed by her side all night long every night! She got the best care and is a healthy lovely dog todayHe is also an amazing vet for cats and large dogsI recommend him 100% and am so thankful to have found him
Epitome of unprofessional. Wanted to charge 250$ for a CAT NAIL CUTTING as the vet wanted to charge it as a visit. Was explicitly told on the phone would not be charged for the cost of seeing a vet. After being informed was on unemployment vet refused to waive the veterinarian fee and was forced to bring my cat home. Horribly unprofessional, allowing a single vet to arbitrarily charge as they like. Even the vet tech admitted the price was SERIOUSLY inflated and recommended I go elsewhere.
The East Side Animal Hospital is the only one I will use when I get my next pet. They are caring. experienced, and sensitive. They caredfor my maltese, illness after illness, with knowledge and sympathy. They are not sooverly confident that they wont recommend a specialist if it is called for.My dog eventually saw every doctor and each was professional and loving. The receptionists are helpful, cheerful and especially patient. This IS the placeto bring your pet!!
This is the veterinary office suggested by the the pet store where I purchased my dog. Every vet, vet tech, and front desk person has been wonderful and has always taken the time to answer every question. It’s not the closest office to our home, but the quality of care is worth heading a few blocks out. Most importantly, my pup Penny loves them too!
Ive been taking my dogs to East Side Animal Hospital for more than 10 years and I trust the vets there implicitly. They know my dog, Lucy, and the rest of my family so well. Its a real neighborhood place. Lucy has a lot of health issues and the vets at East Side Animal are really on top of her medications and the myriad of issues that come with caring for a dog like mine. They consult with specialists and often each other to come up with the best course of action for Lucy. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
My dog has been treating with Dr. Manning for 13 years since she was a puppy. I moved to Westchester a year ago and thought it would be better to have a local vet. That was a mistake. The local vet said the wart over the eyelid was too large to completely remove at the base, so it would return anyway. He also said her teeth were fine when I repeatedly asked him to check it out.I returned to Dr. Manning for a second opinion. Dr. Manning completely removed the huge wart over the eyelid and it looks great. He also noticed a lot of cysts in the mouth on one glance and removed some of them. Dr. Manning also removed about 20 other warts that are healing well. My baby is doing great after one week. I will gladly drive to the city for her future care at Eastside Animal Hospital.
Being extremely honest, I cannot recommend anyone to take their animal to this hospital. The front desk is kind, but that is about it. The vet is so condescending. Near the end of the exam, I felt like he was just trying to sell me product after product. I was so overwhelmed by the amount of information that he threw at me that when I asked for a summary of the medication he was trying to sell me, he acted like I was demented.Sir, I am not a vet, and I was respectful about asking; please show me and other owners some respect. I thought this place had good reviews, but if you check Yelp, the reviews are similar to mine (condescending vet, marketing, etc). Please skip this place and go to other clinics. Their vaccines are also OVERPRICED.
My wife, Carole, and I have been bringing our cats to East Side Animal for twenty years, where they have always received superb care. Weve also brought our grand-childrens dogs more than once when dog-sitting for a week or two. Its a warm, pet-loving atmosphere with fine veterinarians. Its the best pet care weve experienced in some sixty years of owning pets.
Eastside Animal Hospital has been our go to vet for over 13 years. They have have provided our two German Shepherds with everything from excellent health care to genuine companionship. Whether Flash has needed a medical check-up or surgery, daycare or grooming, he counts the veterinarians and support staff at East Side among his best friends! We recommend them highly!
Ugh dont bother with this place or their other location in Long Island City (especially that one). Super eager to sell you the most expensive meds (I got the antibiotics I needed 50% cheaper when I ordered the same brand on Chewy with their prescription). Also long wait times. The receptionist are either very friendly or so terrible. I changed vets just today because one of the receptionists was unnecessarily mean. Dont talk to me in a disrespectful way - Im the paying customer. The vets are alright aside from the pushiness with the meds, but they should really pay attention to who they hire.
Firstly, my dog died over one year ago and they still have not sending me emails. I sent an email to have East Side Animal Hospital to stop but I guess they are just very insensitive.Secondly, my dog was fine until he had his teeth cleaned, one week later he started to vomit and was soon diagnosed with an abdominal mass. This was after getting his physical clearance for teeth cleaning and anesthesia the week before. His physical was less than exemplary: I had to tell the vet that she never even checked his ears.Thirdly, they push their food, give antibiotics at a drop of a hat. They are so awful, I went back to Long Island when my dog was vomiting because they refused to see him after he vomited 6 times in a row with blood.Since it was a Sunday they thought they could just blame it on the heat outside ..my apartment is air conditioned!Protect your dog and never go there, if you do you have been warned!
My dog has been to Eastside so today I called to bring her in as she seems really sick. They told me I could bring her in on Monday? I explained she really wasn’t well and was told to bring her to Animal emergency room. Must be wonderful to have that control that you can treat current customers like that. Well you sure won’t be seeing me again and I will not be recommending you to anyone.
BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PERS HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEM. I was referred here and spoke briefly on the phone with Dr. Manning who was very nice, however, the receptionist or whoever answered the phone was a HORRIBLE WITCH -- I had an appointment but my dog had an emergency and she is telling me they DONT MAKE TIME FOR EMERGENCIES (???? WHY HAVE THEM AS YOUR VET THEN). SO I CANCELLED APPOINTMENT.I took my dog elsewhere and thought I would give it one more chance --due to the reputation of the referral GOT THE UNPROFESSIONAL MISERABLE OBVIOUSLY UNHAPPY WITCH WHO TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR TWO APPOINTMENTS IN ORDER TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.Any vet office who has these practices or who ALLOWS THE UNPROFESSIONAL WITCH TO BE ABUSIVE TO POTENTAL CLIENTS DOES NOT CARE ENOUGH ABOUT EITHER THEIR CLIENTS OR THEIR PETS. IF THEY ARE SO ABUSIVE TO POTENTIAL CLIENTS HOW DO THEY TREAT AND CARE FOR THEIR PETS.
Would never take my dog to this place!! You wait a long time. I had to bring my puppy because she was sick and under warranty from a U.E.S pet store. I did not get the test she needed because the x-ray ldid not show any problem. I know that she had to have a more expensive procedure. It was not done.the worst part? The six dogs lined up in the hall in dog bags!! crying and scared.Have know Idea where the doggie day care is, there is no room for one! Maybe in the hallway in a bag????
We were very pleased with our trip to East Side Animal Hospital. East Side Animal Hospital was able to squeeze us in on a Sunday. Dr. Landesman was fantastic! Very caring and knowledgeable. Dr. Landesman even called us personally a week after our visit to check on our pet. Felt prices were reasonable as well. We would definitely recommend East Side Animal Hospital. Thanks guys!
We have been coming here for the last 3 years since first getting a dog, and we are extremely pleased with the experience - great professionals, appointments available on weekends and evenings, almost no wait at all to see the doctors once you get there, very good front desk/billing services. Very very happy that going to the vet is always easy!
I have lived in this neighborhood many years and have been familiar with Dr. Manning and ESAH for almost as long. I trust Dr. Manning and this facility with my cats, one of whom was seen by him today. In the past at other facilities in Manhattan I have had unpleasant experiences with veterinarians, particularly very new ones. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED HERE. In addition, a few years ago several people found a canary on the sidewalk, perilously close to a crowded street fair. We were able to get the canary into a box and then take him to East Side (on a Sat. afternoon). They took the canary in, without charge, and later told me that one of the vets adopted him and took him home. We are fortunate to have Dr. Manning etal in the neighborhood.
There was a very nice gentleman that works on the front desk, I have not seen him before name Zane, very kind and also professional scheduled us for an appointment. But the heavy women with glasses, who also works on desk not so much!Prepare for rude desk lady that get an attitude for even asking a simple question.I cant ask any questions without an attitude,She is absolutely horrendous, eye rolled, very ghetto, extremely LOUD!!!! not doing her job. To busy laughing and talking to other employees treating the place like comedy club, it’s very sadI also have the video to prove it wish I could up load it here people would be disgusted.
Our family are long time clients/patients of Dr. Manning and his staff. We wouldnt go anywhere else. Both the office here on the East Side and the new office in LIC have the highest standards. What we like about Dr. Manning is that he is calm, knowledgeable, and caring. The staff is always accommodating for the many times when (more often than not) we need to come in without an appointment. We have moved many times around the City, but we have always stayed with ESAH (and the new facility LIC) and his staff - and wont be changing now that we are in Gramercy Park.If there was a 5+ rating we would give it.
Brought Kuma, my alaskan malamute, here for his first visit since we moved to Midtown East. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. We were able to ask all of the questions we needed, kuma was able to bond with the staff, and I could tell everyone genuinely cared. Kuma and I will be back to visit hopefully only on a check up basis, but certain I will use them if theres a need.
The service offered here is 1st class always, you need help and don’t understand a document when your going overseas speak to Kat ,you need an appointment speak to Kat ,the young lady is as accommodating as can be the Vets take care of your animal like it is there families very own I just can’t say enough good things about them thank you all and blessings to you all , Don J.
I will never take any of my future pet there again bc i took my dog there bc he had stones and during surgery he passed away within 2-3 min of the procedure and they had no answer for me.i would of never thought that I would be carry my dog in ashes in a box which I was surprised they didnt charge me for it which make me think more that they messed up
WASNT VERY HAPPY THIS MORNING AS I WAS FIRST TO ARRIVE BUT THEY SEEMED TO HAVE MORE ATTENTION OF TWO OTHER CUSTOMERS WHO CAME IN AFTER ME! THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME AFTER THE PROCEDURE WAS DONE AND I STILL HAVENT HEARD FROM ANYONE!!! SMH WONT BE USING THESE GUYS AGAIN ! IF YOUR A MINORITY THIS ISNT THE PLACE FOR YOU TO COME TOO!!

2022-07-30Went to see the vet for a check up prior to boarding. Dr. White was super professional, amazing to talk to, very understanding to my dog and her situation. Usually I’m anxious going anywhere with my pup because she’s a bit fear reactive but, he was confident in handling her, administered her shots and everything else was easy. The whole experience really put me and my pup at ease. Glad to have found this place first almost immediately after moving nearby.

2022-03-26I just dont understand East Side Animal Hospital. My older dog hasnt been feeling too well lately, so my mom called East Side to see if they can fit her in. There was no effort on the part of East Side to even take my dog in (much less fit her into the busy schedule), so they suggested going to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) on 2nd Ave. My mom and I, then, took our dog to VEG; VEG did some blood work, gave my dog medicine, and sent the bloodwork info to East Side. But East Side never responds until my mom has to continuously call them to ask why my older dog hasnt been doing too well. Eventually, by some miracle of God, East Side responds and says they can finally fit my older dog in; however, they will have to do more bloodwork.I cannot help but feel that East Side is just looking for a way to make a quick $700 off of us. It is almost as if East Side views this situation as purely transactional; and as such, they dont seem to care that my older dog over the last week or so hasnt been feeling too well. I hate to think the worst of a business (I really do, and I tend to give the benefit of the doubt), but it seems like there is no care in the world that our dog here has been experiencing lethargy and hasnt been eating her favorite snacks for the past week. All of this is to say: I am very disappointed with East Side. I understand that the family dog is old; I do. But I just dont want to see my dog like this: lethargic and not wanting to eat. I grew up with this dog from middle school to now in graduate school. And it feels as if East Side doesnt get that there is an emotional element attached when caring for pets, especially at the latter stages of the pets life.

2021-08-28I have to say that even from my and my husband’s first time going to this office we had a problem with how the staff was not attentive to the patients wait time or advising on the wait time. We still took our puppy there because we just purchased our puppy and they were recommended as being close to our location. We went and all was well until the other day. We have spent a very decent amount of money in this establishment like anyone else that utilizes this Vet office and I was treated very rudely and unprofessionally by a staff member. Then the manager definitely did not address the issue as a professional manager. We would not recommend this establishment to anyone. As well we have stopped using them as our vet office.Very disappointed and dissatisfied

2021-08-29To Whomever wrote the response,I went to the office not happy about the way I was handled in a call, but none the less walked in and spoke to everyone politely as I have since my puppy has been a patient there and vice versa.I left there being told have a good night by the gentleman that I spoke to and the receptionist.I was NERVER escorted out of the office nor was there any verbal argument at the office that would require for law enforcement assistance. Your office response to my complaint was not addressed with any merit which doesn’t mirror my departure from your office after speaking to one of the head employees addressing this matter.First, I cannot be fired from your office because I’m not an employee at your office. As the puppy owner and your establishment, we mutually agreed that my puppy will no longer be treated at your office, which Is why I went to take my puppy information out of your database. There are cameras in your office that will clearly indicate that there weren’t any physical or verbal aggressive conversations between myself or any of your employees at your office.Furthermore, someone should monitor all the negative reviews regarding this office because there are plenty of other people that have encountered the same experiences that I have.I am more then sure that the owner for Eastside Animal Hospital could not have written the response that I am responding to, it is sad that staff that can not respond correctly and are out right not speaking the truth.I hope the owners do see this and make the necessary staff changes.

2019-07-08I have the utmost confidence in the veterinarians and staff of East Side Animal Hospital. I have been taking my dog here for the past few years, and have unfortunately had to make many visits in the last few months as hes had some serious health issues at the age of 13. Dr. Freda is amazing. They referred us to nearby specialists which only made me more confident that what were doing is right. They also offer very affordable medical boarding which has made my life easier as I travel from time to time. I would highly recommend making Dr. Freda or Dr. Manning your pets primary care vet.

2020-10-22I brought my 3 month old shiba inu to this facility to get her first wellness check and vaccine shots. I was a bit nervous to come because of some of the reviews I read, but I decided to go ahead with the visit. Im so happy I did! Dr. Manning was very nice and he explained to me everything I needed to know! I was able to ask questions and he patiently answered them. He also told me the next steps for Bella for the following weeks to come. The staff were kind, courteous and very professional. Two thumbs up for this place!

2019-10-24Words cannot express my gratitude to the wonderful people at east side animal hospital. My 13 year old pug had a seizure and rolled off of my bed falling to the floor. I ran over there hysterical carrying my pug. I cannot thank Mike, Amanda and Alex (the amazing vet techs) who came sprinting out and immediately brought her back to be treated, while also trying to calm me down! This is not my primary vet and I was beyond overwhelmed, I don’t think I would have survived those few moments without the care and compassion of Kat and Britiny who kept me calm and assured me everything would be okay! Dr. Shelby Freda was above and beyond! Once they knew my dog was stable she immediately came out to discuss a course of action. Her recommendations where thorough but not at all excessive, we even called my primary vet to loop them in. Before I knew it, Lexi was back in my arms and ready to go home! I cannot thank everyone enough! They made a truly heinous and horrific experience as pleasant as could be. You can really see how much they value and care about their patients! Thank you thank you!

2014-07-14I was so pleased that I had a good experience, as this is the first puppy Ive ever adopted. I made the appointment a few days before my appointment date and was taken on time. Dr. Hammer was the vet and she was very thorough and answered all of my questions. I was like a first time mom and went with a list of questions. She was friendly and answered everything I asked including writing everything down for me.The receptionist was helpful and friendly. I have already praised East Side Animal Hospital to some of my neighbors who own dogs.
