Today I walked into the East Syracuse Free Library to get some computer time but mostly to print out a local map. When I went in I was informed that all the computers were broken except for two that were in occupied with two youngsters that were playing video games. I then asked if I could wait and what time those youngsters would be done with the computers that were working. I told the two young ladies up at the front that all I needed to do was get online and check email .and I needed a local map of streets well I am in town because I didnt know my way around. One of the young girls proceeded to go to the back of the library and bring out A more middle-aged lady when she came out she proceeded to keep asking me over and over where am I staying which is none of her business. Not everybody fits in the same bubble. Im not from this town Im traveling through in my motorhome and staying in a nearby Campground with my family and we needed a street map and the Chamber of Commerce was closed . This Library totally gets one star and if I can give them 0 I would give them 0 because it was totally unprofessional, inappropriate for anybody to be asking me where am I staying? What does that have to do with trying to print out a city map? Or checking my email? What library only stays open till 2 on the weekend? If I work there I would have just printed out a street map and handed it to the person asking for it and say I hope this is helpful to you thank you and have a good day but no they were prying which I dont even appreciate its nobodys business who I am where Im staying all I needed was a city map. I wanted to go online and print one. its a black and white thing all they had to do was offer to print it out or tell me they cant help me but not give me the runaround,Not Appreciated!

The East Syracuse Free Library could fit in a shoe box and yet, feels so much more large than its modest space. I needed two signatures notarized and on Friday, a notary awaited to help with that service for free. Call the library to be sure of time. In a perfect world, the city could make some use of the green space of the sports fields that surround the library to add gardens and maybe fountains, koi ponds and reflecting pools. The librarians keep an eye on the door, ready to help, ready to help right away.

This is one of the most helpful libraries Ive ever used. The librarians are so helpful, knowledgeable and very patient with non computer users. Great library if you have kids too.

Really peaceful and enjoyable place. They have a nice selection of books and audios as well as free desktop computer access and they are also able to order a book to the library for you, if they dont have it in stock and youre interested in it.

Fun activities to do, should be open longer on Saturdays but thats about it.
