Was there yesterday with my wife and we both agree this place is amazingly good. I finally found the same Taiwanese beef noodle soup made just right and with the same ingredients as the ones I had in Taipei. The pork chop rice was also authentic. We met the chef Mr. Jin Five (that’s what he called himself) and he said the beef and soup-base take two days to make and zero MSG. I will highly recommend all my friends to try this new place. The people were very friendly too.
Edit: I’m decreasing it to four stars for two reasons:(1) They ONLY offer discounts to those that use WeChat, which is usually used by Chinese, not Taiwanese and Americans.(2) Had popcorn chicken again after one month, and seemed to taste a bit different from the first time I ordered it. The meat tastes drier and harder. We ordered popcorn chicken, fried stinky tofu, oyster pancake, and a couple of other entries. Very delicious and authentic, highly recommend!!!
I ordered twice and was both charged higher prices compared to what it is shown on the menu on their website. I had no idea when I placed the orders over the phone until picked them up in the store ( you should learn the lesson from me, ask their price when you order!)One time I ordered Chicken Leg Over Rice and Spare Rib Over Rice, which is $10.95 each on the website (the price now is still shown on their website at eatery19.com). I was charged $15.95 for each one when I picked them up. I questioned about it and the guy said that theyve already changed the menu and showed me a laminated menu on the counter. However, I also found a takeout menu there which still has the old prices. I argued but the guy insisted that theyve changed the menu and not updated the old one yet so I let it go.Second time, I ordered over the phone again and my husband picked it up. I ordered Diced Chicken with Hot Pepper Sauce (spicy) 宮保雞丁-$15.95 and Snow Cabbage & Bean Curd Sheet & Edamame Pears雪菜百頁毛豆-$15.95. This time I was charged $41.17 incl tax. Since my husband did not know what I ordered so he just took it home without questioning. When he got home I called them and asked about it. They said because I ordered only two dishes so it is $18.95 each. $15.95 is only if I ordered more than four. This is not acceptable because none of a word he said is mentioned on their website! Not a clue! More importantly, he did not say anything when I ordered them over the phone! Now I recalled the whole thing, I am pretty sure he gave me the trap because he asked if I would order only one and I said I wanted two. At that time, I didnt think too much and he did not say anything after that. The dishes themselves are very small portion. For a small bowl of cabbage, bean curd and beans, no body will order it for $18.95+, it is totally a rip-off OK?For the only two experiences, I feel like being tricked and none of their responses is acceptable. I would not recommend going to this place and if you have to, just clarify the price before you place any orders! For the place owner, you should really work on your website and honesty should always be put first.

2021-12-06We saw a recommended post about Eatery 19 a few weeks ago and had it on our bucket list. We didnt plan to visit recently since the drive was kind of bad, about 40 mins from Queens. Luckily, we were in the neighborhood and got a chance to try.The decor is humble and simple with family style. The staff is hospitable, friendly and recommended their signature dishes in details. There is a great variety of options on their menu and we really had a hard time making up our decisions. We ended up having Fried Stinky Tofu as our appetizer and Oyster Pancake and a bowl of Braised Beef Noodle Soup as our entrees to dine there. We also ordered Taiwanese Pork Chop and Pickles to go. The food was authentic and delicious, especially the stinky tofu which was well-fried, juicy inside and went perfectly with pickles. We were really satisfied since it’s difficult to have decent Taiwanese dishes now in NYC. We will definitely visit again, but probably in a while due to the distance.

2021-10-16Authentic Taiwanese, we are so lucky to have randomly spotted this place while driving. The servers are nice, the food is great. I had the chicken leg bento, would recommend, and the shrimp pancake. My husband enjoyed the stinky tofu

2021-10-07This is the Best Traditional Taiwan style Chinese food restaurant! the same owner opened the same same style restaurant in downtown Flushing maybe 25-30 years ago, now they opened this new one here! My family went to their old restaurant almost every weekend or every other weekend. Our family’s favorite dishes are chunk chicken Taiwan style, shredded beef with green hot pepper, pork with dry tofu & Chinese celery, and their Braised beef noodle soup is always the Best!

2022-05-06Wow...this place is a legit Taiwanese restaurant with many Taiwanese specialities like Stinky Tofu, Oyster Omlette, Beef Noodle Soup and Railroad Pork Chop Bento to name a few. We tried total of six dishes and everything was delicious. My friend who was born in Taiwan mentioned that the flavors brought them a truly nostalgic feeling like they were back in Taiwan. I wish I had a bigger stomach to try more dishes.

2022-05-28I don’t know how this chef could cook such a horrible vegetable. I wasted my money coz I had to throw away the entire dish.

2021-10-30I found this new restaurant while visiting the area and store in for a late lunch. I was very happily surprised by the genuine Taiwanese style food. Pleasant owner was very helpful and friendly helping me place my order. I have a new favorite pork bone broth soup that came with the Spicy Beef and Vegetables combo. I will drive the 10 miles round trip to return for future orders for my family.
