Decent! Clean! Nice service attendants night and morning shift. Good option if you don’t find another stop to take a rest. We were there with my 8yrs old daughter. Nothing bad for this kind of place just the price was $190! Booked at last time at the front desk. I know is advantage all hotels does.
We have used this hotel over the years for visiting the area for football games. Over the years this property has been declining. The exterior is looking tired, rusty stair structures, broken concrete walkways. Our room wasnt terrible, but the laminate flooring was popping up from improper maintenance or installation. The floors were dirty with food debris in plain sight. Other people travelling with us found various bugs in their room and as an added bonus, a used syringe dropped from over the doorframe when they closed the door.
Place is okay. Good enough to rest your head. Ive been in some bad places -- walked into the room and it smelled musty, or like urine. But this wasnt like that. I paid a cheap price and got a cheap room, but it wasnt an awful room. It was clean. No complaints for the price that I paid.
I walk in and it immediately smells of cigarette smoke. A bit annoying but i’ll deal with it. Next I see a few bugs in my bathroom. dead ones. and the bathroom was obviously used and not cleaned well. I went to Wegmans and got wipes and disinfected. Then i go to take a shower and i see a used needle on top of my door. it was almost 11 so i couldn’t go anywhere else. It was super scary.
1st room was loaded with bugs. Both live/dead. Musky smell. Got the room switched to another. Same thing musky smell. Just a few spiders. Than my credit card was charged for the 1st room $214 +$50. The 2nd room they switched us too. My card was charged an additional $378 + 50. They tied my credit card up with almost $700 of charges. Won’t stay there ever again
ECONO LODGE BUFFALO SOUTH IS THE BEST! Dont be afraid of the outdatedness, this hotel is very wel kept. Security is also good here. The staff are courteous and attentive to your needs. There is also a guest laundry, which i love because we have kids. It is located close to many attractions, and only a short drive from downtown Buffalo. We travel to Buffalo often for treatment and testing, and stay there for the weekend when we come. This hotel has an awesome toom for folks that need to bring their kids.
Its what you would expect for a cheaper hotel. We checked in a day early and was accommodated with no problems. The young lady working at the desk in the evening and morning was FANTASTIC. The original room that we were placed it highly smelled of cigarettes, though the hotel claims to be all smoke free. The girl at the desk apologized profusely and immediately put us in another room. The room we were in definitely looked as if it had water damage at one point in time. The flooring was all bubbled up and raised. The wall in front of the toilet looked as if there was a urine stain on it. It wasnt terribly dirty but it was a far cry from the cleanliness I expected, especially with Covid. The highlight was honestly the worker. Everything else was pretty bottom of the barrel.
This hotel is very convenient to the highway and shopping. Some of the rooms are quite tired but still clean. In room 222, the flooring is cupped, the shower head is weak, and the ancient spring mattress should be placed in the Smithsonian. Other than that, the room was clean and warm.
We have stayed here yearly for a few years now. We love the location to shopping, and being just off the highway. Rooms have been updated with new flooring, nicer bedding etcBeds are comfortable. Price is great. Staff always friendly - Same person has been there the past 4 years which is always a good sign. Would recommend staying here.
Not the cleanest hotel. Room smelled of old cigsrette smoke as we entered. Toilet was broken, so it didnt flush properly and would sound like it was constantly filling up. Paper thin walls and ceilings, so you can hear EVERYTHING the other guests are doing. I mean everything.... gross. Worst nights sleep I have had in a longtime. The hotel is located next door to a restaurant/bar, where you can hear patrons hooting and hollering till almost 1am... never again.... Will pay the extra money for a higher quality room next time.
Let me start by saying this place is way under rated. The hotel staff were super friendly and efficient. The rooms appeared to have just been redone and were large and tastefully decorated. Our room was absolutely spotless. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a large tiled shower with glass wall instead of the typical bathtub and curtain. Breakfast was on par with this class of hotel. We used the laundry which had multiple machines that worked great. There is a sports bar with restaurant next door so we were able to walk to dinner. I believe I paid around $95 for the night so Im giving it 5 stars for an excellent value.
While the room was fine (some renovation), I had hoped that as a Choice member, and the fact that I told the clerk that we would probably be staying in the area at least 1-2 times a month for awhile, there was no upgrade. Furthermore, we were given a room next to another patron, even though there were probably only 10 rooms rented in the whole hotel. This renter left his TV on all night (not the hotels fault), but if they had even placed one vacant room between us, this would not have been a problem. As it was, I got very little sleep.
The Econo Lodge chain is the budget brand of the Choice Hotel Group. I had the need to stay a night at this property, and it was exceptional. From check in, through the nights stay, and the mornings breakfast, everything exceeded expectations. Check in staff were personable and friendly. The room was exceptionally clean and fresh. If you had told me it was a new build, I would have believed you. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate. The room flooring was not carpeted, keeping with the budget theme, and Im beginning to think thats a plus. The air conditioning unit was flawless, everything worked, and was nearly unobtrusive. The morning breakfast is limited to breads and pastries, which was adequate and more than enough. This property was so good, that in the future, I will consider the brand first.
Im a simple gal when it comes to lodging. Just like to have a neat and clean place to sleep. The rooms were spacious. I was impressed to find that our mattresses had not only one, but 2 mattress covers on them. The floors thankfully did not have carpet, which does not harbor bacteria and is much more sanitary. We also got an excellent rate despite Labor Day Weekend ($126 total) per night. They also provided quick breakfast items (bagels, cereal, coffee, yogurt, oatmeal, juice)- not fancy but enough to get a little something for the kids while we got ready. I would not hesitate staying here when we return to visit Niagara Falls next year- its about 30 min away. :)
We were shocked to find such reasonable and spacious accommodations for our family of five. We spent the night in a 3 double bed room. The rooms were clean and bright, we had no issues. My husband and I especially enjoyed the fact that 2 double beds were in one side AND separated by a door which gave us some much needed space and privacy after being on the road for ten hours. All in all, far better then we ever would of expected! We will definitely use this location again in the future!
Its nice and clean. You get free Wi-Fi and if you need anything you can call the front desk and they make sure you get whatever you need. If you have a noisy neighbor, or dont feel comfortable in the room you just checked in, you can always ask to change rooms to feel more comfortable. This place is not only affordable, its also clean, comfortable, & friendly. 👍👍☺
Staff at check in was very poor. The woman was very rude and passive with not only us, but her fellow colleague who was still in training as well. Their “high-speed” internet didn’t even work either.Staff at check out however was great. The room was very nice however. Spacious and comfortable. TV was a bit small though. All in all, I wouldn’t pay the amount I did for one night. I would rate my experience as very poor due to the staff at check in and the lack of wifi. If the price was 10x lower, then I would rate it much better. But I did not get what I paid for.
Pros: Price was reasonable and our 2 double bed room was very spacious and updated (cheap laminate flooring and paint over the wallpaper). Shower was nice just be careful because it fluctuates and will melt your skin. Day shift staff was pleasant and check out was a breeze. Cons: The beds were very uncomfortable and the breakfast was mediocre consisting of yogurt and packaged danishes. Front desk lady on nights when we checked in was slow and rude and while the other worker had her feet propped up at one of the breakfast tables socializing. Overall, you get what you pay for and its probably worth the stay for the budget minded.
Hotel exceeded my expectations for such a reasonable price. Our room (141) was huge and very comfortable. King size bed, a small table with two chairs, desk, large closet space with a safe, large, clean bathroom...laminate floor was a little weird, but overall, a really great room. Breakfast was nice, parking great, easy on and off highway, close to many places to eat. Hotel staff was very helpful with directions and local information. After letting them know that our air conditioner was very loud during our first night, we returned to our room that evening to find a brand new air conditioner.
I stayed at this place in 8/18/18 and though it was clean, I was disappointed in the size of the room. It was very outdated as well, but..It was clean as I said, and the bed was comfortable. I did like that they provided a small fridge and coffee maker, as well as a security safe. It was quiet after 10 pm too. Its not a bad place to stay for the night.
We were a family of 4 looking for a place to spend the night at while visiting Niagara Falls. Our expectations were low since this was a lodge. But we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and cleanliness of the room, bathroom, towels and linen. Our room seemed to have been newly renovated. We checked in pretty late..around midnight. The check in process was quick and smooth.Breakfast next morning was good. Had some variety of bagels, a pastry and some packed pastries. Coffee, fruit juice, cornflakes were also available. No complains. Did not need to call room service during our short one night stay.Overall experience was great and I would definitely recommend this place.
This hotel was fine if you are looking for a reasonable price and not a lot of frills. The room was clean, had a refrigerator, usb ports, clear television stations, extra pillows and blankets. The staff upon check in was friendly and efficient. The only issue was with some of the bath towels having a stale smoke smell. when I brought them up to the front desk the young lady never apologized or offered to provide new towels.
The hotel room ( 2 double bed) was spacious, well maintained, clean with good clean bathrooms , bedding, toiletries and furnishing. Its great that the parking is so close to the rooms. we found this econolodge to be better experience than some other 3 star hotels in the area in terms for family stay. Only negative things were lobby is quite far from the hotel rooms . We actually drove to and fro from the lobby for breakfast, etc. Also, the coffee pot in the room was missing/ broken. The coffee machine in the lobby was also breaking every few cups. However, overall, I would highly recommend this econolodge to exceed expectations for the room rates, especially for family lodging.
If you are on a budget as my husband and I are, this is a good place to stay. the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom and sink area are clean and the safe is usable. The linens and bed pillows are sufficient. The TV and channels were adequate, the remote worked. The desk and chair was sufficient. the breakfast at the lobby area was adequate. Overall everything was good.
Me and my family of 4 checked-in to this hotel as a stop-over on our way to Ohio. It was already 1am and we still have 3-4 more hours to go. We were just looking for a modest and cheap hotel as we were just going to spend the night and continue driving the following morning. Checking-in was easy even at that time. For the room rate that we paid, we were surprised that the room is clean and looking new.
The Econolodge South Buffalo provided an excellent experience and value for the room rate. The bedding and other furniture were comfortable and sturdy. The window was wide and brought in a good bit of light (so it wasnt cave-like at all). There were sufficient light fixtures in the room, and there was *exceptionally* good lighting in the bathroom.I would gladly recommend this hotel to other travelers.
Only issue was that the bathtub drain was clogged and didnt drain properly while having a shower. Was somewhat gross seeing the hair floating around as I was showering. Also the hot water was not consistent. It kept getting hotter then colder then hotter again. But otherwise it was very nice. Was quiet despite the numerous guests that were there. Bed was clean and comfortable. Fridge in room was very useful. Overall a pleasant stay.
The hotel stay surpassed my expectation and skepticism , This is the first time i stayed at econolodge and second with choice family and i must say the experience has been par with the price you pay for your stay. The room were large and comfortable and most important were clean !! The Breakfast was good too. dont expect a full american style breakfast but a modest variety of muffins, bread, coffee, juices which is fairly good to keep you going !!hotel will add a 2 dollars charge for locker you can request at checkout to get the removed if you have not used it !
We are basic travelers. We want a good shower, a clean room and a comfortable bed. We dont care about mints on the pillow or how well the staff grovels. We were very pleased with this hotel and their friendly, efficient staff. And there was even a tasty breakfast. More than we expected.
Very spacious room with plenty of outlets and usb charging ports. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Plenty of hot water and clean towels. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was in a separate building with the front desk, but though simple, was plentiful and restocked during the breakfast hours. Price was reasonable, especially for the area and had easy access to the turnpike and major highways without being too close and having lots of noise.
This hotel is recently remodeled, my room was very nice, clean and everything worked properly. Usually if you really want to nitpick you can find a few things but I saw no issues here. The location is convenient to numerous restaurants and shopping centers. The breakfast is a little more basic than some, but I still appreciated having it.
Wish I could give this place 0 stars. I know I only paid $70 for one night and it was a full size bed, but seriously. Bathrooms were gross, floor was sticky, remote was sticky, bed was uncomfortable. My boyfriend is a truck driver and often frequents hotels and a good majority of them are off the beaten track motels and isnt picky about where he sleeps. I have never heard him complain so much about a room before. Rooms have been updated, but they are still gross and the noise from outside comes from under the door. The smell is musty and the air conditioner was obnoxiously loud. We arrived at 11pm after a 15 hour drive and we were too tired to complain. But I have the opportunity to warn other about it. I have stayed at many Econo lodges over the years and this was by far the worst. No excuse for guests having to wear their shoes around the room every time they step out of bed.
I wasnt expecting much with this hotel. Only booked it for the price, but it was much better than I thought it would be. We received an updated room with a beautiful shower. There was a small table in the room as well and we were able to get a rollaway to fit easily. The beds were good and the bedding was as well, but the pillows werent great. Breakfast wasnt much -- just some pastries, cereal, oatmeal and I think the only protein on the menu was peanut butter. But that was fine for one nights stay. Its not a 5 star hotel, by any means, but for this price point, it was good enough. And FYI, the doors open to the outside, not to an indoor hallway.
Overall stay was short but comfortable. Room cleanliness could have been a bit better and linens on bed were extremely wrinkled. When we asked the front desk to call a cab for us were were just given a business card so we had to go back to our room to call as we were from out of country and did not want to use our cell phones. We were in town for a concert so the price of the hotel was significantly increased than had we stayed any other night therefore I did not find the rate to be good value.
I use Choice hotels exclusively for personal trips. I dont normally choose Econolodge as I have found them to be somewhat shabby. This hotel is a very pleasant exception. Room was clean and modern, bathroom was great. Decor in the room was bright and fresh. WiFi worked great. Breakfast was basically breads and coffee but I dont expect any more from Econolodge. Good value and a great place to stop over.
Staff was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Room, although small, was very presentable with the new renovations -- very clean. I appreciated the vinyl flooring as opposed to the older carpeting that was replaced. Bed was very comfortable. . Everything was in working order, as it should be. Did not have the complementary breakfast.
Pleasant room with plenty of room for all our gear. Plenty of hot water in the shower and fresh towels. A/C worked great and breakfast was plentiful and restocked frequently during the breakfast hours. The breakfast area and desk are in a separate building several yards from the rooms, but it isnt unreasonably far. Housekeeping did a good job and kept the rooms clean and insured we had anything we needed. Could have used a better selection in the pop machine, but that could be a regional thing.
This lodge/hotel has no locks for any of their bathrooms. No microwave in room unless you pay for it. The rooms are located on a separate property far from the main desk. If you need something after 4pm then go get it from the main desk. The breakfast is normal. The rooms do come with a safe that you can program!
Stay was above my expectations. The outside didnt look promising as it looked very basic but the inside was super nice and modern! Wish the bed was more comfortable as I felt the springs and woke up with a bad back. Breakfast was below average wish there were fruits or vegetables. It was basic with the English muffins, slices of bread, cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee and yogurt. overall good stay. I would stay here again!
The room was sparkling clean. There were three pillows on the bed and another one in the drawer if needed. What really impressed me was the fact that you couldnt hear your neighbors. Staff was very polite and friendly. Access on and off the thru-way was wonderful. Close to area restaurants and shopping centers.
Check in was fast and easy and the lady working was really friendly and nice. The hotel is located further away from the office. It is easy to miss the entrance to the hotel if you arent quick enough to see it, but there are two entrances. The room was a nice size and comfortable. However, there were a few issues. In October you have to use the thermostat to control the room temperature, which I dont mind, but the fan unit was disconnected and I have to sleep with a fan on to block out noise. There is what seems like zero insulation. Everything is heard, from outside and other rooms. I wasnt able to get any sleep at all. The bath in my room was broke, the bottom screen part. And my travel companions non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes. It is close to the New Era Stadium which is a plus. Right next door is a place called The Warehouse which has delicious food but it is a sports bar and can be extremely loud. Rooms have a fridge but no microwave and you have to walk to the office to use one.
Room 159 bugs..all over .. I had to use bug spray.. they need to hire pest control..160 showed us their room .. same bugs..nasty..and if you look at walls look like it had water damage it before.. look for another clean place.. like I said too ... when complain at front desk ..nothing
You get what you pay for. My stay consists of a double bed updated room with a shower unit. Overall the room is spacious. As I sit here on the bed it is comfortable and free of bed bugs from what I can tell. The room I recieved is exactly what I expected for under $150 in this area. It is a no frills place but has coin laundry on site a vending machine (snacks and beverages) also 2 ice makers.located right off the highway the room is very quiet I cant hear traffic or anyone upstairs. There is also a restaurant within a 20 foot walking distance from the parking lot.
I stay at the Econo lodge Buffalo South location at least two to three times a week. Normally Im very easy going but last week 8/15 I found what appears to be a cockroach in the bathroom and this morning 8/21 I was lying in bed and had a bug of some sort crawling on my arm. First instinct was to fling it off. Took a picture booth times and reported it to the front desk hoping for a call or something, never received anything. Well today I’m emailing you in hopes of some kinda response to my email and something in return before I post not only to the review page but also to the varied social media sites.
Not the best place to stay. The Irish in the first room was so moisture our clathes wS wet to the touch as soon was our skin. The second room was a bit better unail we found aLloyd the ants all over the floor and in/on our clothes and shoes. The staff did not even have the knowledge to apologize for any of it. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Yes the cleaning lady was very sweet, but I will never stay there again nor would I recommend it.
Hotel is easy to find, right off interstate I90. Requested for an early check in and was able to do so when I arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon. Check in was quick and easy. Room was in older part of hotel. I found the room Clean and everything in working order. Both bath and bed were clean and well kept. Carpet is due for replacement and room was a little small. But worked perfect for me as I did not spend a lot of time in it. easy connect to Wi-Fi. Hotel is in good locattion with plenty of shiopping and resturants within walking distance. Hotel was full the night I stayed and mostly quiet all night after game. Rates were increased due to Bills home game.
All was very good. Our large room could do with a couple of comfy chairs rather than just 2 dining chairs. Small matter though. Perfect place to stay when going to a Bills game. The Warehouse Restaurant right next door is a fun place for food and entertainment. It has a decent menu and an arcade along with many tv screens for more sports viewing. Econo Lodge is clean and comfortable. Staff are pleasant and helpful.
Not really a hotel, more of a motel. Mostly clean, carpets were very stained. Place has not been updated other than flat screen tv in a very long time. Office staff was very nice. Cleaning crew need to wait and only clean rooms where people have checked out instead of banging on doors yelling room service at 8:00 in the morning.
Stopped overnight on my way home from a road trip and I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the water was hot. I had to take care of a couple unexpected roommates (a large fly and scary looking spider) but no bed bugs. If I had to I could probably stay there for at least a week. They have on site laundry which I was not expecting. There is also an option where you can rent a fridge for $6 a night. I just filled my cooler with ice and was perfectly content. I would definitely stay there again. Worth every penny!
Very plain and not much curb appeal ...actually a bit sketchy looking upon first glance but it was just set back from the road. We had 2 rooms both with interesting layouts. One had 2 rooms, each with a double bed, connected by a bathroom in the middle. Each room had its own sink. The other one was a large 2 double bed room with a large bathroom. Floor was tile so it was a bit cold underfoot. Would appreciate an area rug. One wasnt ready yet at our 4pm arrival. They were very clean, just simple but comfortable. Basic, but filled our need for a place to lay our heads. Not impressed with the breakfast at all compared to other hotels of this kind.
I had a nice stay at this hotel, it was clean, quiet and comfortable. It appears to have been relatively recently remodeled, with hardwood style floors. There were no condition issues or cleanliness issues that I could see. The layout is a little odd, the office is a separate building maybe 100 feet or so from the rooms, but thats really only an issue if you wanted to walk up for breakfast. Which, the breakfast selection is a little more limited than they typically offer; coffee, juice, cereal, oatmeal, bagels and muffins, but I think thats partly due to the office not having any real kitchen facility to allow them to offer more. The hotel isnt far from the football stadium so I would expect it to be louder when full after a game, but during this off week it was very quiet, even though its sandwiched between the Thruway and a busy road in a retail strip. The restaurant adjacent the hotel property is currently vacant, so theres no issues there. In room amenities include a coffee maker and alarm clock radio; the cable TV has a decent selection; the room is laid out well, the water pressure was good and the shower head is placed reasonably high enough. There literally was nothing for me to nitpick here.
It is what it is, a place to sleep. Hotel is clean, and not horrible by any means. We have become somewhat spoiled when it comes to our “choice hotel” preferences. Continental Breakfast was just that, however they really need to expand seating area. 3 tables just not enough, and no one wants to walk through a parking lot back to their room with hot coffee and food!
Carpets filthy (feet turn black if you walk on carpets in barefoot which I do not recommend!). Housekeeping less than helpful and did not replenish linens/cups for 4 people even though I had spoken to them on first day of stay and told them there were 4 people in the room and that we need supplies for 4. One day of our stay they did not even clean our room (was told we were the 4th room to report that they had not been cleaned). Could not get room cleaned, as housekeeping leaves at 2:30pm and no longer on site. Air conditioning unit very outdated, loud, and put off an awful odor. If you are expecting to find a refrigerator in your room you will be disappointed. No refrigerators anywhere. Toilet ran every 30 seconds or so for about 10 seconds. Loud and annoying. The only plus for this hotel was the front desk staff. They were very friendly and as helpful as they could be.
Stayed for one night before the Bills game and it appeared that most of the other guests were there for the same reason. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed was relatively comfy. Wifi worked fine the night we arrive but was non-existent the next morning. My husband joked that its how they get you to check-out ... shut off the wifi. The walls are quite thin so you can hear from the rooms around you and outside the room in the parking and walkway areas ... as well as noise from The Warehouse restaurant/bar right beside the motel. Bring ear plugs if youre a light sleeper. We had a renovated room but many of the elements were still very dated. Appears that the bedding and furniture are newer, but the room still felt old. Breakfast was, well, it was food. Carbs and caffeine basically. There were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby which was a plus. McKinley Mall is just around the corner. The room served our needs though it was very pricey for what you got, relative to other Choice Hotel properties Ive stayed at. It was the cheapest we could find in the area however. Good for one night and a short drive to Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Weve been to this motel a few times in the past and were very happy. They gave us a renovated room and found things are worse now.The good = very clean, new beds and sheets are very comfortable, nice flat screen TV, new floors and painted room although the colors are awful and clash. Price is only reason to stay for a very short trip. The bad = shower faucet behind a big glass panel so you need to stand right in front when turning it on. Also, water temp kept changing from very hot to very cold by itself. Lots of noise from 2nd floor room since carpets are gone. A/C was very noisy all night long.
I needed a room just for the night to rest up while traveling from Canada to NC. Although the hotel looks like a truck stop from the outside, I was quite pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. Because it was an EconoLodge, I expected a cramped, dingy, run-down room. I got the opposite. The room was very large and clean. Everything was astetically (sp?) pleasing. The bed was a little softer than Im accustomed to but it was comfortable. I did notice an empty rack where the ironing board should have been, but since I didnt require an iron, I didnt take time to find one. Both evening and morning staff were very cheerful, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.
This Econolodge always provided the necessary accommodations but now they have upgraded the rooms, total make over, new floors, furniture, new paint and showers. The rooms are now brighter, cleaner much nicer to stay in. In the room I stayed in the only thing which could be upgraded was the sink, particularly the taps, they need to be replaced. My only disappointment came when I discovered that the restaurant/sports bar which was on site had closed. A new restaurant would make things just about perfect. Thanks, good job!
The room was decent. Bed was extremely comfortable for the two of us. Shower got hot enough and the water pressure was awesome. Only thing that really bothered me was there was a few stains on the sheets (though it looks like there was an attempt of bleaching them out), and found empty shampoo bottles from the previous company. Wish the ac got a little bit colder as well. Otherwise it was a good experience overall.
This hotel is great staff were wonderful. Price was more than reasonable. It is clean, quiet and convenient to shopping and restaurants. Just a short drive down the road is a beautiful state park and beach. Great location. We didnt have breakfast but I loved they have coffee/latte machine in the lobby.
The room was clean and comfortable. But for us the shining star was the front desk lady, Im pretty sure her name was Trish. We stayed there in a shopping trip and I accidentally smash out the back window of the car, long story... I called from the room about garages, by the tine I walked up to the office she had already started calling around to try and get us help. We were at the front for quite a long time and she was helpful and friendly. Staff like that would make us return in a heartbeat! Thanks for all your help that day, it was much appreciated in a very stressful situation.
Had a wedding at a venue less than 2 miles away. Satisfied with hotel. It is a motor inn so has outside doors instead of interior hallways. Decor is old, hotel is old but it is the best priced place in the area and clean. We had a room with 2 double beds in their own rooms with a bath in the middle (like a jack and jill bath). it was fantastic for our group and much less expensive than two rooms. If you are looking for high end hotels with amenities, this isnt it but if you are looking for a good priced, clean hotel in the area, this place is perfect. Right off the interstate.
The hotel is older but clean and well maintained. I did not eat the breakfast. We were on the second floor and there wasnt an elevator. I can do steps but it is difficult. I did not request a first floor room so I dont know if they would have given me a different room. I would definitely stay there again.
This is the best location to stay for a visit to New Era Field. The renovated rooms are wonderful. The cushion flooring and the new walk in showers have vastly upgraded the largest rooms that we frequently stay in. As usual the outstanding service provided by the staff, many of whom have been employed here for numerous years (good sign), was exceptional. Kind, courteous, and friendly! Will be staying here again next season! Go Bills!
It’s good considering you’re nearby a plaza, it’s a fair price for a full bed with free WiFi & it’s a 5-minute drive to Woodlawn Beach. The problem I’ve had with this place was I had to go over to the office over three different times because I had the same issue where my keycard wouldn’t work for my door and the lady at the office wasn’t that friendly towards me. Another issue I’ve experienced was finding a used-bar of soap in the bathtub and dealt with a few ants (nothing to major).-No continental breakfast due to COVID-19 (Incase anyone was wondering!)-By the way thank you to the two guys who clean-up and redesign the rooms for making it a better experience by helping us out with the remote and giving me a tip on how to cool my car faster.
The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The only problem we had was the temp of the shower kept adjusting during the shower and the temp got extremely hot but was probably due to others showering at the same time. Location is a little concerning coming from a rural family but overall, we would stay again.
I only chose this hotel because its affordable and conveniently located. Its perfectly adequate for the price. Ive certainly stayed in worse accommodations in the same price range before. The only things that annoy me are that the air conditioning units can be unreliable, and there is always shampoo (though not enough) but never conditioner for the shower.
My friend and I have stayed here 6 or 7 times over the years to go to Ralph Wilson Stadium (now New Era Field). Its nothing fancy, but it suits our needs. It is safe, about 2 miles from the stadium, and has been kept up relatively well over the years. We got a double room and Im not quite sure how this happened this time, but it was very spacious! Had plenty of open floor space for activities! Highly recommend.
This hotel suited our needs very well. It was close to the football stadium and restaurants. If I had wanted to shop it was very close as well. The continental breakfast was as described. The room was very clean and quite spacious. The only issue was that we were unable to connect to the Internet. We were told that our apple devices needed to use google chrome, but when that was installed, it still did not work. Since this was not a key factor in our stay, we survived fine. I felt that this was a good value for the price.
This was a great value for the money. Very simple, and it was fine. The downside of a motel room is that if the weather is cold, your room will be cold when you get there- which it was, and it takes quite a while to warm it up. The other issue is that the room had a musty odor of old cigarettes, although it wasnt very strong.
I had a great experience at this hotel. Check in was a breeze, the room was very clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable (I slept better here than I do at home!) and check out was also a breeze. Close to shopping and restaurants. I have already spread the word to family and friends about my positive experience.
Looking for a place to stay and this had clean sheets, quiet and comfortable beds. Having been a manager of a motel, inspecting rooms was something that I did for a living and housekeeping did well. A little more attention to the.shower walls is my suggestion. Great stay. A weekly discounted rate would be great!
The Econo Lodge was a nice little hotel that was a pleasure to stay at. The spaciousness of the room was wonderful as well as the shower area. They had a lovely continental breakfast that was great. The staff was very helpful. All in all a nice experience and I would definitely stay there again.
Stayed here while in West Seneca. Room was great! Modest, but got the job done. It was clean, beds were comfortable and everything worked. The only issue was that the lady that checked us in was pretty rude. Not helpful at all and was annoyed when we (or anybody) asked questions. Not the best first impression... Reccomend EconoLogde for lodging only.
Everyone who stays at the hotel seems to pay a different price. The hotel needs to have cleaner bathrooms and the beds need to be made better. The staff at the front desk are freindy and try to help with everthing they can. The house cleaning staff needs more training on cleaning
Great value. The rooms were very big and comfortable and were kept clean. The hotel is located close to the city and a lot of amenities. I would definately return again if I found myself in the area and would recommend it to others. The only hic was that the internet service was spotty but we enjoyed the experience.Happy Travels
SERVICE ANIMAL OWNERS BEWARE!!!!!! If you have a SERVICE ANIMAL, I definitely recommend that you do not try to stay with Econo Lodge. I had been staying there and everything was fine, until I started bring my SERVICE DOG with me. They refused to give me any room but their PET rooms, which they only have 3 of. I had told the front desk that when I get to the room and turn the heat ALL the way up, it is still running when I wake up in the morning and the room is not even warm!!! I was always told the same thing Ill let maintenance know only for the next week to be the exact same thing. So when I went in on Christmas night, I asked for a smaller room because of this issue, and of course I informed the gentleman that I had a SERVICE DOG. He immediately began trying to charge me their $30 pet fee, to which I informed him that was against the law, he then told me that there were only 3 rooms that he could put me in because I had a pet. One room was occupied and the other two rooms were not cleaned...THIS WAS AT 8 OCLOCK AT NIGHT.First off, a SERVICE ANIMAL has the right by FEDERAL LAW to stay in any room no matter what! This was refused.Second, there was an attempt to charge a pet fee which AGAIN is against FEDERAL LAW.Third, I was flat out told Im sorry but you cannot stay here because we do not have an open room for your pet. THIS IS A REGISTERED SERVICE ANIMAL NOT A PETIt has taken me since CHRISTMAS to calm down enough to write this review without using profanity every other word because I was litterall y that mad about the situation!!
Ideal location to attend events in Orchard Park area at a reasonable price. Access from I90 is great, 100 yards from the off/on ramp. Staff is friendly and the room are being updated all the time. The new flooring and showers are terrific. A revitalized sports bar is located adjacent to the property and provides excellent food and atmosphere. A great place to gather with out of town friends for the Bills games.
Room was so-so clean. Mirrors and surfaces needed a wipe. There were fingerprints all over them. Bed was a bit lumpy. Its time to replace it. Pillows very firm and full. Was disapointed in the morning since they had not put out anything for breakfast. The area was there and very small but was empty. Never had that happen with this brand of hotels. They had a big standup banner advertising breakfast??? Not sure why. Would not stay again.
We showed up ( my wife and I ) after having reservations for a week for a King room.We show up to find out “ someone had given our roof away “. Being almost midnight, we took the room anyways regardless if my wife and I had to share a Full size bed.The front desk lady promised us a king room for the next night ( we planned two nights here ) and did in fact give us the king room the following day. HOWEVER, there apparently are rooms on the upper floor that people must live in....2:30 in the morning and banging on floors, slamming doors and making all kinds of noises... This lasted until 4am, then started up again at 8am...Out of 100 hotels I have stayed in, this is by far the worst. No sleep and stuck on the road all day...
The Econo lodge was worth the money. The rooms and facility are dated but clean. There is no elevator so if carrying luggage up two flights of stairs is an issue then be sure to request a first floor room. Their complimentary breakfast has something to be desired as it is offered in the main office with very limited seating and selection. Other hotels I have been to very recently offer more for a similar price.
Econo Lodge was a great pick for an overnight stay. We had a baby in the family and truly appreciated that they had cribs available for him. Rooms are very clean and they have plenty breakfast options. For those that need a quick bite at night, the hotel is next to a restaurant that is a walking distance and also delivers to your room. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby.
Good hotel for the price. Missed the breakfast time so we didnt get any. No major problems. The staff was great for what little we talked to them. Oh, our coffee didnt get replenished that I drank the first morning, stayed 2 nights. Kind of a bummer. Next to a great restaurant like 1 minute walking.
Its an older, classic motel / motor inn type of property. Even though its adjacent to the NY Thruway it was not noisy. Continental breakfast is OK, though access to a microwave and access to cream cheese (for the bagels) would have helped. Coffee is individually brewed and is above average. Wifi worked well. Convenient to shopping (McKinley Mall, Tim Hortons, Wegmans) as well as NY Thruway, US 219, NY 5, US 62, and US 20. Hotel staff very hospitable. Would stay again.
We stayed overnight as part of a busy trip to Western NY. The location served our purposes well. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We slept well, which was our main goal! Hotel is located right off 90, but traffic noise was minimal on the west side of the building.
Although the room is smaller, everything is in order. they had coffee maker in the room, soap and shampoos for toiletries, clean bathroom, great wifi, flat screen tv with tons of channels ie: hbo, discovery, nickolodeon, fox, bt, news, and local channels. The bed was very comfy and the linens are fresh.Good continental breakfast.Sorry, i find no fruit for my cereals. but what you could ask for a 1 night stay? The price is right and they accept AAA/CAA and other discounts for 10% off the nightly rate.
Very friendly staff. My room seemed to have been updated recently which was very nice to see. Dont let the outside fool you. I hope the bed is updated as mine was not all that good. Biggest complaint is there is no restroom in main building where breakfast is served.
We were rolling into town later at night, so we decided to try the very affordable Econo Lodge.Knowing a no frill stay, but we only needed a bed and a shower. We were surprised to find a large, clean room. And we slept very well. Nice pillows. Breakfast was mediocre, but again, expected at this type of motel. We would stay here again if in Buffalo area.
As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by 3 nasty spiders. It wasnt trashed but noticed an empty water bottle on the floor. I was happy that I didnt find evidence of bed bugs. My baby was crawling on the floor and found a huge ball of hair and filth. When I picked her up her hands and knees were filthy. This place could probably use a carpet cleaning. I wasnt expecting much because of the price but a little cleaner of a room would be nice.
This hotel is in a very convenient location for visiting Orchard Park, East Aurora or Buffalo. The room was clean and provided a safe and coffee maker. There were sufficient towels and the water pressure for the shower was excellent. Internet access was easy and fast. I would definately stay here again when I am in the area.
Clean and reasonable priced for what it is and convenient to I-90 Its OK with mishmash furniture and wall colors. Nothing bad except inherently on the noisy side given its setup and outside stairways and clientele coming in at 3AM. The place appears clean and at no time did I feel unsafe.
This hotel has an excellent location close to an Interstate highway exit but not so close as to be noisy. There is a shopping area with food (sit down or fast) close as well. The rooms of this hotel are very neat and clean. The staff members are very polite and go out of their way to be helpful.
Although the physical surroundings were not impressive, the Econo Lodge stood as a maintained and reputable-looking motel. The room had few amenities aside from the individual coffee maker, but the room was neat and clean and comfortable. The price seemed a bit high for a room with no microwave or mini refrigerator or hairdryer, but I attribute the price to prime travel season.
Room had the look and feel of a smoking room. Smelled of smoke, cigarette burns on tub and safe. I almost expected to see an ashtray instead of a no smoking sign. Shower curtain rod jammed onto the wall, not the mount. Overall rundown feel like the room had been around since the 70s.
We travel and stay at this hotel in the fall when we go to the Buffalo Bills games. We love it! The remodeling and updates are great! Our room is always clean and the beds are very comfortable! We are very sad that The Warehouse closed but hoping something new goes in soon!!Thanks for everything!See you soon!
This would be good option if we are not getting reasonable priced hotels nearby Niagara.Room service was quick and room with three bed was excellent. For the room, there could have been one and half bath for complete room considering max six people are staying. One full bath still good but just a thought.
The room is advertised for 2 adults as a double bed room. Initially, I thought the room had 2 bed. The room has one small full size bed- Full size beds are 74x54-enough for one adult. Theres no way 2 adults would fit into a bed thats smaller than a queen size bed. The night staff was terrible. I was told I cant have a roll away bed secondary to a fire hazard and then she accused me of having more than 2 people in the room. The management needs to understand that people in America are not 50 tall and 100 lbs. and the room with the bed they advertise for 2 adults is not adequately suited for 2 teenagers. I did see bigger rooms downstairs as, but I was not transferred to such a room because they claimed to be sold out. I did drive around the facility around 10pm and more than half of the parking spaces were empty. If you want to experience terrible back pain please do9-14-17: I posted the initial review on the 13th and the manager or someone writes back saying that they were sold out.......they dont know when I checked in and checkout out. the room wasnt even on my name.... they dont apologize for the fact that their employee was not able to provide a roll away bed......was rude.........that goes to show the level of their commitment..... lol.
After long drive , the experience we had with this hotel was the worst experience ever happened, nothing was good since we checked-In. Front desk lady staff she checkin and gave a room key to us, and when we went to the room, there was already some other guest staying with all the bags, laptops in that room, me and my fiancé we were horrified and closed the door immediately and went to the front desk And was really upset, and I told the front desk lady that she has given a key where some other guest is already staying and now we are not feeling safe to stay here as you guys are giving the keys where people are already staying, may be someone can rob or stole the stuff. I also told her we are completely feeling unsafe with this experience. Front desk staff She replied back ohh is it it cannot happen she didnt even say sorry, I said yes there is a guest please check , and when she checked in her system. She said she mistakenly gave us the wrong key. I was surprised the way she said as if nothing big as happen, I was completly surprised with the attitude she had, No appologies nothing. I have never seen this kind of staff ever with such an attitude. And finally when we got the new room. After emtering room. Bad smell. Used towels in bathroom. Hot water problem. Dirty floor lot of hairs
Not a terrible hotel. A bit loud at night with traffic, car alarms going off, etc. Close enough to restaurants/mall and easy commute to ECC to the swim meet we were attending. Chose this hotel because other team mates were staying here. No microwave or fridge in room but can rent these at a fee of $6 per night. Carpet seemed really old and stained. Probably wont return and would pay a few dollars more to go to a higher grade hotel.
I have had to stay locally in a motel for personal reasons. I have stayed at every one in Hamburg NY, and you cannot beat the cleanliness, availability, flexibility and most importantly friendly polite hospitality staff of Econolodge. I would recommend this location to anyone, local or from out of town before checking any other hospitality service in the area, despite price. This place beats them all.
Lets be honest Ive stayed in worse places for more money.. its an awkward set up.. it didnt have a microwave and nothing in breakfast for a diabetic.. but the price reflects what ur going to get.. a room at night that is not gross .. They were clean and nice ppl . Just rooms werent anything special
We stopped for the night on our way to Canada and appreciated the large, renovated room, friendly staff, and free breakfast. We used both the table and the desk and had plenty of places to tuck away the luggage. There were convenient places for supper in the mall nearby.
The personnel at all the EconoLodges, we stayed at were ALL very nice, but cleaning department need dire change. When we walked in the room, which was a pet room, the odor of dog was pungent! As we were walking out the door to request another room, we noticed animal urine by the door, half wet and dry on the tile. The front desk lady, very apologetically gave us another room, which was a LOT nicer and no dog smell.
I dont even want to give 1 star. Worst experience . Be aware at the time check in if u sign and initial your acceptance rate take one copy of it. Hotel charge me additional money without letting me know and when I called they told me u r not eligible the rate you offered. They never told me that information at the time of check in and check out in fact they charged my 2 days later additional money. Choice hotels chain name and status is ruining by this hotel. Room is tiny and biggest room if u book not even 1 person can sleep properly . I rather prefer to sleep in my car if I have to choose this hotel now or in future
We stayed at Econo Lodge South Buffalo for the Bills game. We arrived at 9am and asked if we could leave our car in the parking lot all day, and to our surprise we were given a room. Check in was smooth, there was some breakfast (bagels and things) out for us to enjoy. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, the heat worked well. They are located within walking distance of a plaza with restaurants and shopping. It was a $20 cab ride to the stadium (and $40 cab ride back, oh well). We will definitely be staying here the next time we are in town for the game.
I stayed here a total of 4 nights and room service never once came by. They said it was because at one point in the day my DND sign was up but was off by 9am each morning. Had to literally walk to the office the last night and get clean linens to shower. I stayed in nonsmoking room but the room as well as some linens smelled lightly of smoke because the cleaning staff were smoking outside the rooms.
The breakfast is not what youd expect at a Choice Hotel. Day old pastries & bagels. Juice machine empties early and not checked to be refilled. The smell of cats in the first room given to us was overwhelming and they tried to cover up with a spray, which just added to the bad smell. The clerk did give us another room immediately. There were a couple of mornings when the staff didnt make up our room. I made our bed and we reused our towels. There were plenty of restaurants within 1/2 mi of the hotel - luckily a McDonalds around the corner where we could get a breakfast.
Motel was right off the I90 expressway. Sports bar next store, good food and not noisey. Shopping mall just a block away. Staff was pleasant and informative. Had a double room, very large. Very clean. Price was fair was good compared to other hotels in the area. You can get to anyplace from hear in about 20 minutes, a great location
Currently staying in room 164 and woke up to something crawling on me and was super itchy turns out it’s a bed bug.and let me not forget how dirty the floor is when I came in , felt slippery and my feet got dirty immediately. Definitely not a place you want to stay !
Terrible customer service and a ripoff.Front office charged my card as well as took cash for full price of room plus deposit. Employee was rude and highly unprofessional and was screaming that she doesnt have time to deal with my over refunding my money because she had to take care of her baby that she had in a playpen behind her.
We arrived in Buffalo at 2pm for the Minnesota Vikings vs Buffalo Bills game. We had a reservation at another motel who advised us he cancelled our room when we arrived. I called Econo Lodge and they were nothing but helpful and amazing. Clean updated rooms with a Great rate! We will stay here anytime we come this way.
The room itself was old and run down. The continental breakfast was very basic (and mostly pre packaged Sara Lee desserts)...they didnt even have a pitcher of water. The place is convenient, especially since we were only staying 1 night, but I would not stay here again. For an extra 10 bucks, we should have gone elsewhere...we would have at least gotten a solid breakfast for our long drive to MI
I stayed over 22 days on multiple visits to this location-The staff is grate...HOUSEKEEEPING STAFF IS EXCEPTIONAL!!!!! This is a great safe secure clean comfortable place to stay! Highly recommend and i will definitely stay agian but will be checking pricing in the area....
Its about what you expect for Econo Lodge - basic amenities, basic room (although quite large), basic breakfast. The laminate floor in the room, however, was disgustingly dirty - a few minutes walking around left your feet or socks black. I was tempted to go buy a Swiffer and show the maid how to use it. Other than that, no complaints.
The staff did not know much about access to wifi. There was dirt on the floor, I was on the second floor and I needed help getting my suitcase up the stairs and none of the staff were available, the bed was very uncomfortable and I called for extra pillows, I was told that they did not have any. It was a bad experience I will never stay there again
Great price for being minutes away from downtown Buffalo. The area surrounding this hotel also offers plenty of things to do as it is right near the McKinley Mall/shopping areas. Wegmans is half a mile down the road which is great if you need to pop in any time (24 hours) of the day to pick something up. There is a bar/restaurant within walking distance of the rooms called the Warehouse. The area was very quiet during my stay. Comfortable accommodations, great and easy to access Wifi. Only complaint is that a microwave or mini fridge wasnt standard in the room, would have been handy for longer stays.
The check in building was separate from the building where all of the rooms were located. The hotel is approximately 15 minutes south of downtown Buffalo and had a lot of stores/restaurants close by. The room was fairly large and comfortable, however it had a super small tv that was on the other side of the room so could barely see when laying down on bed.complimentary breakfast had a lot of choices for both drinks and food.
The best thing about this stay was the response to my late arrival. I had said during the reservation that I might be pretty late, depending on traffic, since I was traveling some distance. I was even later than I expected, but phoned ahead to revise my arrival time. When I got there at 11:30, they were ready for me and there was a place for me to park with my trailer in tow. Everything but the internet and the quality of breakfast items was great. My comment on the breakfast items is that I would have preferred some fruit and protein (eggs, bacon, sausage etc.) but I realize that these are a little problematic because they spoil and the cooked items cannot be reused.
My judgement is clouded by the experience. I dont agree with the policies the hotel employs. I probably would not return after the experience. I got there a day late and still had to pay for the night I couldnt make it because I was driving 550 miles to Buffalo. I had to stop to sleep in a gas station and I still had to pay for the discomfort of having to sleep in that gas stations parking lot. No one cared about my experience and at least were happy I showed up alive. My card was charged before I showed up and no one even called to inquire as to when I would arrive before my card was charged. Im not going back. I stayed two nights and paid for 3. I was better off waiting until I got there and going to a more expensive hotel. So thats what I will do next time.
The good was the new TV, good line-up of cable channels, and clean bedding and bathroom. The not-so-good was the reception clerk. I advised her that I had another reservation for the following week that I booked about a month prior, and when I went back to the site, the rate was $10 less due to a promotion. I told her that I had thought about canceling the existing reservation, and re-booking it with the $10 discount, and asked whether it would be possible for her to just match the discounted rate for the following week in order to save me the hassle. She said that there was nothing she could do. She suggested I do the cancel/re-book myself if I wanted to, and told me that the rates always change. I was put off by this because I work in customer service, and believe in always going above and beyond for your customers in order to increase loyalty, convenience, and likelihood to recommend. I received an experience that was the opposite of those things! So, the following day, I canceled the upcoming reservation for the following week, and booked with a competitor at a discounted rate.

2022-06-20Its not the most amazing hotel but the basics are fine (no bugs, hot water, spacious rooms). There is no free breakfast as of June 2022 but hopefully that will be back soon. Staff was lovely to deal with, which is rare at this price rate.

2022-03-01I have seen online poor reviews for this hotel and I wonder what planet they came from. I have stayed here many times and its always been reasonably clean with everything working and no major issues. Its a two star hotel, not a fancy top line chain, but it serves its purpose and is priced reasonably. The location is also convenient to too many shopping and food options to list.

2022-04-22Rooms were definitely older style, no convenience package for electronics but we got by. Beds could have used longer bedding, had to move to the foot of the bed to stay covered. Price was reasonable

2022-04-01Nice restaurant apart of the same parking lot system. However not having any control over the heater in the room is awful. This is a first in 5 years of travel living.

2022-06-01Toliet backed up and would not flush, shower backed up also. Stood in water to my ankles. AC very loud. Motorcycle rally in parking lot next to motel. 300+ cycles reving engines until 10pm. Just not a relaxing experience.

2022-06-07Positive: Absolutely nothing Negative: I felt unsafe because the patrons of this hotel all around me were hanging out outside with all kinds of traffic coming in and out of their rooms. Very sketchy and clearly drug dealers so I demanded to change rooms. Wi-Fi didn¿t work,no breakfast at

2022-06-30It had thought out conveniences, like electrical plugs next to the bed and a box of tissues in a dispenser on the wall, amongst others. I was comfortable there.
