Positive: One of the workmen was a wonderful, helpful person. The man behind the front desk was not friendly or helpful. The room had a cloying, awful chemical smell from paint etc. due to ongoing renovations. I returned home sick Friday. Negative: The God-awful chemical smell in my room due to recent painting and other renovations. It was difficult to breathe. In order to sleep I had to keep the air conditioner running which all compiled caused me to get sick with a bad cold.
Positive: It was conveniently located for our needs. Negative: YES. The curtains were falling off the wall. I asked for repair and it was never done. The toilet seat fell off! The hallways were not clean. The bathroom was tiny and the tub looked very old. VERY DIFFERENT FROM WHEN WE STAYED THERE 3 OR 4 YEARS AGO.
If I could give this a minus10 I would. Awful. There are people living in rooms, back door was broken and anyone could enter the hotel. Room was dirty, I asked for it to be cleaned. Returned an hour later and it still looked lived in. Entire hotel smelled like cigarettes. Do not stay here. Do not stay here alone. It felt like a halfway house with people I would not feel comfortable sharing a space with. . Yes thats a cheese steak rotting in the microwave, no toilet paper dispenser, floors had blood spots, syringe cap, and the drawers had someones belongings which were still in there (after I asked for my room to be cleaned). I was not familiar with this area when my c/c booked the room but it does not feel safe. The manager understood I was not going to keep my reservation - and I was not charged. You get what you pay for. I found another hotel last minute.
Its not bad for the price. I stayed here for the weekend of the Watkins Glen 6 hour race so did not spend a lot of time in the room. The positives+ bed was very comfortable+ air conditioner worked well+ never ran out of hot water for baths and showers+ seemed pretty clean apart from some grim near the toiletThe negatives- there was an inch or so gap under my door that allowed every sound outside, including the ruckus of 2 men who decided to get into an argument at midnight on my first night, into the room. Informed the front desk of the gap and was told they recently put new hardwood floors in and replaced the carpet. I was provided more towels when I asked for them. Placing a towel over the gap each night helped immensely- walls were thin so i could hear the tvs and talking in either room beside mine. Definitely not the quietest.- shower has a pretty low ceiling and the showerhead was low as well. Not an issue for me but could be for others.-upon returning from the track one of the nights, all parking spaces were taken, including the one directly in front of my room so I had to park behind the building which was thankfully rather well lit but still annoyingIn summary, if it wasnt for the gap under my door Id have given 4 stars. Its not a bad place to stay but you can do better.
Room was clean as was bathroom. In general the motel was pretty shabby. There was no housekeeping. Generally speaking, it was not a surprise considering the price. It was ok as I was prepared for this as my expectations were not high. Im sure some people would have been not happy
My first stay at this location was in 2019. Although the room was outdated and worn, it was clean and quiet. Unfortunately, this visit was much different. Dirty room, worn and stained furniture and bed coverings. Parking area was littered with garbage. Very disappointed.
The room was dirty, dusty and couldnt possibly have been cleaned prior to my arrival. I took pictures of the damaged desk chair, carpet, the water stained yellowed curtains and the dusty headboard. I literally had to sanitize and deodorize the room with items I brought with me in order to feel like I was in a sanitary environment. I slept with blankets I had in my car because the duvet was stained and had something that appeared to be crumbs and hair on it. The pillows were a joke! I had to shove two in a pillow case I brought with me to have a sufficient pillow to sleep on. Not at all what I expected.
I will NEVER stay at this place again. The staff I dealt with was very nice, but the place is WAY TOO DIRTY. Stains on my pillow, stains on the mattress cover, which I can see through the sheets, and when I pulled the sheet off to take a closer look, there were hairs literally EVERYWHERE on the mattress cover. I dont know where or how they wash the bedding, but it was NASTY to see. I used the 2nd bed, which looked cleaner, but my pillow was my clothes, cuz I was not going to put my head on their pillows. The bed skirts looked dirty with stains. The rug had stains, and looked disgusting. I kept my sneakers on while walking in the room. Even the iron on the wall had dirty stains on it, and the hair dryer had so much built up dust. The barrel under the trash bag was SO dirty too. I closed the microwave as soon as I opened it. They REALLY need to invest on some updates. Maybe a toilet paper holder on the wall or a shower curtain that doesnt have mold, and maybe just some scrubbing on the shower head. Either the cleaning standards are not very high in this place or they need to find someone who actually cleans to make it look clean. The ONLY reason why I stayed, is because I came with a group. If not, I wouldve left immediately after walking into the room. Sorry for the bad review, but I had to be Honest.
Im still waiting on a representative to get in touch with me to give me a refund. Not only was the clerk unable to help me with making a reservation, so I ended up doing it myself once I found a place that had Wi-Fi. Then once I drove 45 minutes to get to the hotel around 9:00 p.m. she couldnt check me in. She doesnt know how to work the computer system. Looking back maybe she didnt even work at for Econo lodge, she just had a blue polo with no name tag on it and was sweating profusely. But either way she tried giving me six different room keys and none of them worked. She was also trying to help a travel nurse check in and was unable to help her with that. I asked her if I could speak to her manager she said yes but her manager wasnt there..... So her answer should have been no I cant speak to the manager since they are not there. Then I asked to get the contact information for her manager, she didnt know it. So I asked for the contact information for her manager supervisor oh, she didnt know it. So I confirmed that her hotel was part of choice hotels and asked if there was a phone number or some way to contact choice hotels and get a refund, she didnt know how to contact choice hotels. I wished the travel nurse good luck and left. I had to drive 45 minutes back into town spend three times the amount of money I wanted to to get a hotel to sleep in for 6 hours before getting back on the road. Absolute worst hotel experience I have had to date
Dirty, dingy, smelly, old, would be be the first impression. Nonsmoking room reaks of smoke. Room looks like it needed to be remodeled about 10 hrs ago. Everything looks used, and worn out. Windows are dirty, ceiling is dirty, walls are dirty. This has the look of a motel that you would rent a room by the hour
We stay here usually once a year but since covid we hadnt been back for a while. Do NOT get a room on floor level. Request 2nd floor. Those rooms are ten times nicer. We didnt get that option to choose this time (every other time we did). The air conditioner sounds like a helicopter. The bathroom fans sounds like an old lady screeching. The coffee pot drips down the side. The tv is decent and the hot water lasts for a while. The bathroom barely fits a person (toilet and shower). The fridge has a weird smell and isnt that cold. And our toilet paper roll was practically gone. We had to request one within an hour of checking in. Other than that its quiet and we love the location. We will return but definitely request 2nd floor as those are updated.
This place was not bad. There are 2-things that didnt set well. First, upon check-in, you are required to make a $150 refundable deposit. This was not disclosed to me by booking.com. Next was the massive draft under the door. You really need a warm-mist humidifier here to stay healthy, as the draft under the door will cause the heater to run all night. Dry sinuses equals a sore throat and a cold. I DID get my deposit back once the person on-duty saw that the TV still worked. You need to pay more than expected to check-in, even though you will get it back without major damage.
Falling wallpaper with mold on it. Chipped and peeling paint. Stucco falling off building around all ac units. Thin walls, could hear everything going on in all rooms around us. Fresh feces in toilet when we checked in. There has to be better choices to stay in the area.
STAY AWAY!!I tried to make a reservation over the phone but the employee was unable to figure out how to use their computer system. So I got online and made the reservation myself, drove and hour and a half and the lady at the front counter (blue polo shirt, no company logo or name tag, very sweaty) couldnt give me a room key that worked. We tried 6. Mean while a travel RN was checking in and the employee again couldnt seem to figure out how to charge her card. I asked for a refund and she couldnt figure out how to do that either. She didnt seem to know who the manager was or how to contact them or the Choice Hotel Company.Save your money, your health (that place was filthy and I didnt even make it to the room!), And time. Sleep ANYWHERE else!
This place was filthy. Our room was sorely out of order with things hanging out of the wall, the light blowing out as soon as it was used, lamps falling apart, hair on the bed, and wall paper peeling. The floors in the hallways were disgusting. NO FOOD SERVED but other hotels at least put the bagels and chips in a baggie so we have food that we paid for. Your facility did nothing. Which is why I didnt get what I paid for. Was absolutely disgusted.
Make sure to tell Yatin Nicole and Brandon said HELLO!!! We stayed here for almost a month while waiting to move and they were absolutely the nicest ppl we have ran into around the area. Friendly ppl at the desk rooms were great for price we paid. Laundry room for customers was a wonderful plus so didnt have to deal with laundromat!
Very surprised by this hotel. The outside isnt much, it suggests its the same ole econo lodge. But it has a nice updated interior. Very clean. Comfortable beds and loved the pillows. Breakfast was technically a continental but with hot eggs, and when we went it they had sausage and gravy. Also a waffle maker, and pastries, cereal, etc.I only have 2 gripes, and they are small ones. The AC SUCKED in our room. Set at the lowest setting all night and it still was hot, it didnt blow cold air. And at breakfast they only offered orange juice, no apple or any other choices for cold beverage.Lastly, this is just a friendly reminder for the ladies: the little complimentary shampoo/conditioners really suck, so make sure to pack your own!Other than those two issues we loved our stay and recommend this hotel, will stay here again.
I just wanted a room for the night and chose this place because of the price. I didnt expect much but was overwhelmed. The room was low cost yet clean and updated. The owner has pride in his business and it shows. The mattress was new and quite comfortable, the linens were high quality with a good thread count, the pillows were high quality too. There was all the hot water I needed at a great flow rate and the towels were soft. When I woke up after a great night of sleep there was a fantastic (real) egg and biscuit breakfast with fine coffee. I would obviously stay there again and would recommend this establishment to anyone. I am in hotels over a month a year and know the difference.
Was thinking the room would be fantastic based on online reviews but it was not. The bathroom was very old with stains in the tub and on the walls. The toilet did not work properly. There was not enough towels provided. The complimentary hot breakfast was not very good. There were limited choices available and what was available was not very good. There were some things that were as good as expected. The beds/pillows were comfortable. There was a large screen tv with several channels available and a tv guide. There was a fridge and microwave available. The room was clean. Overall, the room was overpriced.
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our accommodations at this hotel. We stayed here on 2 different nights and had a good experience both times. The room was clean, comfortable, with new bathroom fixtures, TV, and furnishings. We had a quiet night and enjoyed a good hot breakfast that offered 2 kinds of hot waffles, bacon, eggs, bagels, muffins, cereal, etc. All of this came at a very reasonable price.
Decent hotel for an overnight stay. Not a luxury accommodation but clean and reasonable for its price point. Reminds one of a 60s or 70s roadside motel that has been updated and maintained. Rooms are somewhat small. We had considered having a person stay with us on a cot but there would have been no room in the King room we had.The room was clean and well maintained. A/C worked OK if a little inconsistent.Rooms open to the parking lot. Either a plus or minus depending on your needs or preferences.Comfortable bed, seemed fairly new. although I did not care for the very small pillows on a king size bed. Towels were of fairly low quality and small. Toilet / shower is a closetStaff was very good and personable. Check-in and out was smooth.Breakfast in the morning was standard fare but decent.
My stay at this spot was for four days/nights and it was a good experience for the price I got. The breakfast is a decent variety with both hot and cold choices (waffles, eggs, meat or cereal). The rooms are clean and well maintained. It was a pleasant stay for a traveler who is looking for a good nights rest and get up and go breakfast.
Tentatively reviewing at 4-stars based on condition of the hotel room. The hotel charges a $150 incidentals holding fee, and there was some minor light damage in the room we received (washer-torn curtains, graffiti carvings on nightstand), so we reported before turning in.Overall, room was fine. Standard bedding and plenty of pillows in room. TV had DirectTV with good assortment that entertained this cable-less millennial. Not serving complimentary breakfast right now due to COVID-19, understandably. We had some problems with booking through Expedia, but a good resolution is expected. Will update as this is finalized.
Worse place we ave stayed at. Use to be great, always stayed there. This time dirty, no maid services ( which they didnt tell us when we checked in). No coffee in room or out front, again never told. There was papers on bathroom floor, food in the chair when we pulled it out to set in. The emergency light was hanging by a wire. Only half of the tv worked. They charge you an extra 150.00 in case you mess up the room and may give it back, after they decide to check it.
The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room had everything we needed including comfortable beds, tables, chairs, microwave, refrigerator, TV, WiFi, and plenty of hot water in the shower. Free breakfast had a good variety of choices.Conveniently located for us to the places we were visiting.Perhaps not fancy, but it was very comfortable. A great bargain. This is our second visit to the Elmira Econo Lodge and we still feel good about our choice.
Booked last minute after previous booked hotel was removed from Choicehotels listing. Overall was pleased that the room (#209) didnt smell of cigarette smoke like some hotels that allow some smoking rooms. Housekeeping should have done a better job stocking the towels/cloths, instead of having to go to the front desk to get more than 1 towel, when it was booked for 4 ppl.
I didnt know what to expect when I read reviews. Im glad that the area seemed safe, because I really dont like this type of lodging. I was expecting a bit more in terms of amenities in the hotel. I guess you get what you pay for. The room was clean and the breakfast was good (served at 5 am, which is great for a marathon day). Person at check-in had a bad cold and didnt like the idea of handling key after the person was obviously germ-filled.
Overpriced and dirty. Found out later I could have booked at several other nicer hotels for about the same amount per night. Had stayed here 3 time prior and it was fine, but each visit the conditions of the hotel deteriorated. This time they were just bad. I wont stay here again.
This motel was very nice, clean. The staff was very friendly, pleasant and had a very nice smile when they greeted you. The had a very nice Continental breakfast. They kept it very well stocked, so that everyone would get something and did not have to wait for it to be replenished. I would highly recommend this motel for anyone to stay and rather you are staying one night, a week, whatever your needs are. Dont hesitate to stay here.
Like the smoking room option - hard to find now. Location is good. Price is good if all you need is a bed and bathroom. Fast Internet.Maintenance needed in room. Stayed in the same room 6 months apart and the outlet in the bathroom didnt work. Told staff first time and still wasnt fixed when I came back.
Pretty cost effective place to stay. Building is a little old, but pretty well taken care of. Newer furniture & tv in the room and pretty good breakfast as far as hotel breakfasts go. Only mild complaint is the size of the bathroom (Im not really sure why they minimized it as much as possible, but not a big deal). Overall a great place to stay, especially for the price.
The EconoLodge where we stayed for 2 nights was perfect! Their front desk clerk -- the young lady who checked us in early Friday morning (11/25/16) had a great smile on her face and was so pleasant and accommodating that my wife and I just couldnt believe it! This was our first time ever at an EconoLodge. Anyway, we totally enjoyed our stay, and will definitely return. By the way, we thought their coffee and breakfast foods were excellent! Our room was always so very clean it looked like new. Their staff (the young lady at the front desk) was outstanding! Five stars * * * * *
I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last two weeks. It is a no frills type place but it has all that I need. Things are a bit dated but I find the bed very comfortable and I feel safe on this property I like the staff both morning and evening - they are courteous. I stay here when traveling to Elmira for business. I could probably find a closer hotel but the rice is right and the the location is great. I am not one to hang out in hotel rooms and this pace is near all sorts of shopping and restaurants.
Positive: Nothing. Negative: Rundown property, garbage overflowing in cans near entrance, no elevator while traveling with an older person who has trouble with stairs. Barley any interaction with indifferent staff checking in or out. Multiple people lurking in rear parking lot.
We couldnt wait to check out the next morning. Even though we were in a non-smoking room, the room still had a musty, old, smoke smell thats hard to get rid of and you just have to live with. Linens were fairly clean and the toilet had a permanent, large brown stain from years of use. It was difficult to sleep because the toilet ran all night and the mini-fridge made a horrible loud sound all day. Breakfast was equally bad; no fruits or cereal and the waffle batter seemed spoiled. We didnt even want to try the juice because the dispenser looked like it hadnt been cleaned in awhile. You get what you pay for.
We have already recommended the Econo Lodge Elmira to several friends and expect to return ourselves. The property isnt fancy, our interest was in our room and for the price range in this area we were very pleased. Well furnished room, clean crisp white bedding, good firm mattresses, decent bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, free easy connect WiFi, all we needed. We were on the second floor. There is no elevator , we dont have one at home, no problem for us (motel is only 2 stories). Complimentary breakfast opens 5AM - ideal for early risers. Again, not fancy but better than similar offerings weve had at other lodging in the area at twice the price. Great location for a variety of restaurants and plenty of stores. All staff we encountered were pleasant and offered assistance.
This was our second stay at the Horseheads, NY EconoLodge. It is basic, no frills comfortable and relatively clean housing at a good price point for the local area. The room we had this year was not as nice as the condition of the room we were in a year ago. The most important things for us were that the beds were comfortable, bed linens clean, wi-fi operated without problems and the location is very convenient for shopping and restaurants.
I made a reservation for this motel in advance. Check in was slow as their computer system was outdated and giving the desk clerk fits. After check in we went to our room and walked in to a room that had never been cleaned. Bare in mind this was after 10pm. The beds werent made and everything was a mess from the previous guests. The desk clerk apologized and gave us keys for another room. This room was clean but rough to say the least. It was very old looking and beat up. Walls in the bathroom had spackle that had never been sanded or finished. The only good thing about this stay was the rate and honestly Ive paid the same or less for a lot better.
The hotel itself is really not bad at all. Clean and beds were comfortable. Great location. For health reasons, we have difficulty with having to climb stairs. I thought I had booked a ground floor room, two beds, non smoking, but I was told upon arrival that there were only 2 bed SMOKING rooms on the ground floor! Even though we do not smoke - I offered to take a smoking room, for convenience. The young lady that checked us in was extremely unprofessional, and when I questioned this, and my booking.......she simply raised her hands, shrugged her shoulders and said I dont know anything about booking......... Having said all this - the rest of the staff was absolutely AWESOME.
Gone are the days of Econo Lodge with white walls and plain furnishings! The room was as attractive as any of the higher level chains with comfortable bed, down-alternative comforters, nice colors, modern sink and shower, microwave and fridge. The breakfast included eggs and sausage. The room was a decent size. Will stay there again next time we are in need of lodging there.
Overall I had a great stay, though it was one night and to attend an early local class, I wish I checked in earlier to have enjoyed my room and relax. The hotel was nice, and clean Only complaint was some hair in the tub when I got there. Loose hair, especially in the bathroom is a pet peeve...but I know how annoying it can be to clean/remove thoroughly. Overall- awesome service.
The staff at this motel are quite nice and very helpful, its a shame that this property is not kept properly. The steps were littered with debris, crumbs, etc. The bathroom of our room was not really clean. The dryer didnt work and the hallway and the laundry room served as the prep area for the breakfast set up. I would not stay here again.
We have stayed at this hotel many times while attending the car races at Watkins Glen. The staff are always friendly and polite. The breakfast area is always well stocked and maintained. The rooms are always clean. It might not be the nicest or biggest hotel we have stayed in but it is conveniently located and the staff do take good care of us!
This EconoLodge was nice compared to other ones that I know of. This EconoLodge is getting a facelift of new carpets in bedrooms and lobby. It looks very nice. The staff was really nice and helpful. The only complaint was all of the handicap rooms were smoking rooms! This seems kind of odd. If you are handicap you shouldnt be smoking!! I needed a handicap room for my cousins and because they dont smoke, I requested a 1st floor room. Maybe in the future (since they are remodeling-should be able to do it now) for handicap rooms they can have 1/2 smoking and the other non-smoking. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay, convenient to major hwys and shopping!
Where do I start. Well, we stayed July 3-6th in Big Flats Hotel. Check in was fine but we went to our room to find that they had been doing dry-wall repair in the bathroom and had not completed it. It also appeared to have bullet holes in wall (room 225) that had been patched with drywall mud. On Thursday night there was a very loud couple that were arguing back and forth and going in and out of their room and I told the main desk that if they didnt do anything I was going to call the cops. We left the hotel just to be safe. Continental breakfast was a mess on July 4th with no food and no one cleaning up in lobby. We also were told that there was not going to be any housekeeping for a day due to the fact that management didnt want to pay overtime to its staff. Manager was nice but shortage of staff was VERY obvious. Never anyone sitting at desk...ring the bell and someone appears behind the curtain!
Some rooms seem to be sort of out of date. I think that some freshening would help; and making sure the heat units work correctly. When working on carpet, make sure padding does not raise up so high that its hard to open and close the door. The hotel is convenient to the National Soaring Museum so I really like to stay there in spite of some little difficulties like no room phone, sometimes door key cards do not open the door.
My stay at the Econo Lodge in Elmira NY was a pleasant experience. The room was clean and neat, and the bed was comfortable. There was a microwave and small refrigerator in my room (which I did not use but I noted in case I travel in the area again). There was a nice view of the mountains from my room. The breakfast was standard hotel fare...cheese omelets, bacon, waffles, oatmeal, cold cereal, bagels and muffins. The coffee was very good (I had two cups) and there was also orange juice. The hotel staff was very friendly...during my checkout, they informed me about the local things to do. There are several wineries in the area that I may check out at another time.
This Econo Lodge was very nice. They are in the process of renovating the bathrooms, the bedroom areas were clean and updated. If you want a good breakfast ignore the free one. The hot food is lukewarm at best. The staff was wonderful, we decided to come back the next night, and they were very helpful. Having a fridge, microwave and coffee pot in the room was a big plus for us.
Love the renovations that have been done! Rugs are new and bed is new and the bedding was nice . The shower was great lots of bars on it for safety . The only thing we had to slam our door to get it to shut when we left which Im sure wasnt nice to hear at 5 am when we left :( other than that the staff was great food good and room good . price was ok too.
I definitely enjoyed my stay in Elmira. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was nice and roomy. The microwave and fridge were a bonus and the bed was soooooo comfortable!I would have liked to enjoy the free cookies and popcorn that were advertised on the website. Only cookies were available that night! What a great idea for a snack upon check-in, but I would have liked to have both, espceially since they were both promised. The breakfast was nice. Eggs, sausage, waffle maker and standard items like bagels, muffins and cereal. Very filling!
A perfectly fine hotel. Room was moderately clean, the valve to switch the water to the shower head was very finicky. Rate was very cheap. Location was about 20-25 mins from Watkins Glen which was why I was there. Lots of stores and quick eats places near the hotel if you were looking for a place to eat/buy something.I didnt look at it, but there was free breakfast. Also free WiFi in the room.
This was my first time staying here and I will only stay here when am visiting my boyfriend. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable. And it was great having a DVD player in the room to use at no extra charge. The hot continental breakfast was delicious. I booked a king and a double beds rooms.
Actually, if I could give this hotel a 3.5 star-rating, I would. The room I stayed in was a guestimate eighty to eighty-five percent clean with the exception of the bathroom...specifically the bathtub. That couldve been much cleaner than where it stood as soon as I settled in. I managed to handle it by first running hot water on it for a while and then disinfecting it before I stepped in. For it to be a non-smoking room as well, Ive gotten a hint cigarette smoke seeping through someplace into the room. The pricing was reasonable. It can use an upgrade altogether as it seemed to be outdated, especially during this era. I smell either renovation if it (Econo Lodge) wants to continue on, or excavation for some other national chain if it doesnt make vast improvements; I feel it has the potential to do so...or not.
Updating was terrible. Bathroom wall had molly anchors & screws in it and a long patch covered with a piece of wallpaper. Other wall had plaster sticking out from it. Shower was great. Toilet was hard to flush. Terrible breakfast. No fruit and poor breakfast choices. Eggs filled with cheese were not good. Sausage gravy and the biscuits so I did not know what they were. Coffee was great. No sitting room. We took ours to our room and some people were sitting on the outside sidewalk eating their breakfast. Bedroom walls were wallpapered over projections on the walls. The new carpet was so high that it was very difficult to open and close the door. All the staff were very friendly and understanding about the problems.
Visited during the Finger Lakes Wine Festival. The hotel was very busy. The room was an outstanding value and the bed and pillows were great. Great A/C as well. Staff very helpful and friendly. Snacks available upon 6:00pm arrival was great as I was starving. Sundays breakfast was great biscuits, gravy, waffles assorted cereals and bagels with cream cheese. Monday was less so with most everything gone or dried out by 9:15am. No cream cheese for bagels and extremely messy. Dining room is tight but I prefer to take to the room anyway. Having fresh coffee ready at 4:00am was greatly appreciated. The interior of the room and hotel was fine. The room was as nice as any in town really. The exterior leaves much to be desired as must be well known by now. Extreme shortage of storage as there are chairs everywhere and under stairwells. Rear entrance looks a bit seedy. Side walks and lot could use a good pressure washing. Overall would recommend.
Staff was excellent on the checking process, breakfast was decent. Everything else was horrible old style rooms, hotel structure was more like a MOTEL instead a hotel. Modern style should be implemented to for this hotel to stay on business in the hotel industry, otherwise jump into the Motel field.
We stayed in Elmira overnight on our way to Niagara falls. Nice area, has everything. This Economy Lodge was a good choice. Stayed on the first floor which I liked because our car was right there. They had a nice selection of food and drink, even tho I am gf. My only complaint is the bathroom smelled. But I would stay again, the staff was friendly and accommodating.
My hotel had great front desks people, great modern room, nice big flat screen TV and super fast internet. Breakfast was not good. but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. It is a great bargain for the money. I will stay at economic lodges from now on in my future business travels because of this experience!
Clerk could have asked floor preference when there is no elevator, and hotel was far from full. Hotel in dire need of updating. Dingy lighting. Mold on wall, peeling wallpaper and ceiling. Had I discovered mold on arrival, I would have insisted on new room. This was our Reward room, although it felt like the booby prize. Advertised Full Breakfast was not. No fresh fruit or fruit cups. Cereal almost empty in both containers.
First room we got had someone already in it, next room we got only had one working light and no smoke alarm they just covered it up with a plastic bag, and the third room i got had black mold growing in the bathroom. as i went back to ask for another room i got told that” my standards are too high for this hotel” by the manager would not recommend this hotel to anyone
First night had a dirty bathroom. Went back latter to get belongs and the lock was no longer working for us or the manager. However the manager was excellent she worked fast to put in an other room which was clean. Contact maintenance to get our belongs out of the room with a broken lock. She was kind understanding and did everything to make it right. Because of her service they get 3 stars.
Extremely pleased. Very good value. Nice hotel for very cheap price. Stayed for one night for a local interview and was pleasantly surprised. Nice comfortable and large king bed. Clean room with no smell. Nice large flat screen with fast wifi. Room was large and comfortable. Staff was extremely friendly and check in was super fast. Would definitely stay again.
Convenient location and must have been remodeled/updated fairly recently. Clean and comfortable rooms. The combination and lower floor outside entrance and upper floor interior entrance rooms is rather unique, but offers a nice preference choice. Breakfast limited and not the best, but adequate for my tastes.
I have stayed at this hotel nearly every week for the past 6 months. The thing that sets this hotel apart from the others for me is the staff. The team here is great and keeps me coming back. Stayed at other hotels in the area, paid more money and was barely acknowledged as a customer.
There is much needed to be done to improve this lodging. Customers should not have to endure problems such as I have stated; meaning that the manager/owner should be checking the conditions randomly to insure the customer will be satisfied. The rates are reasonable, except that the traveler should be wary of staying there. Every other room in the hotel could be excellent, but one rotten apple spoils the whole basket, at least for me.
This is a good place to stay. Ive stayed here before and will again. Usually I request upper floor rooms, but here the lower floor is much nicer. Again, this is an older hotel but very well maintained. The rooms are nice, basic, but well kept and clean. There are restaurant options very close. Applebees is within walking distance, there is also fast food within walking distance. Shopping center across the street with a grocery store. The hotel is easy to get to, and the staff is friendly. I spend a lot of time traveling for work and I am very picky about where I stay. I will definitely stay here again.
I have stayed at this hotel twice and was very happy the first time with the room. The second stay the room was smaller, bed was not as comfortable, and the shower was smaller. I had a hole in my blanket, the towel bar kept falling off the sink counter and hitting my foot, and the shower head was starting to come out of the wall. For the money the hotel was ok.
Its ideal place for the amount they provided the room.Pros:clean roomBusiness center availableLaundry on premiseKitchenette in room but not full kitchenFriendly staffAverage continental breakfastNear to mall and eateries. Taco bell and applebee just adjacent to the propertyEasy connection to highway but beware of potholes.Cons:Bathroom very small. If you are large person you will have trouble. :)quality of crowd may vary.
This was the first time I used my choice points. It worked out well for me. I was able to use a portion of my point and add a little cash to make the experience good. I will continue to use Choice Privileges. The hotel was good except the bathroom smell like cigarette smoke. The smell was extremely strong and seems like it was coming through the vent. Surprisingly, it did not carry into the actual room area. Other than that, my 1 night stay was pretty good.
Old and tired motel in desperate need of basic updates. Bathroom is tiny and nearly impossible to extract oneself from once door is closed from inside. Beds are full size, not queen, and uncomfortable for one, much less two, as our mattresses were in bad shape. Bathroom is too small to use as dressing area, so know your roommates well or lose your modesty having to change in the open area by the sink. Location is also difficult to find at night, as the building is not well lit and the approach is not obvious.
The Econolodge in Elmira NY is not far from the National Soaring Museum where I often have meetings as I am a trustee. The hotel is clean, neat, has great waffles for breakfast, and the beds are really comfortable. I feel safe and secure when I get to my room and I know that I wont be bothered. Also I do not have to climb stairs to get to my favorite room. Love this hotel and likely will not change. Why give up something good for something else further away that may or may not be as good.
I love this hotel as its convenient, affordable, and suits my personal needs. I do waffles each morning, but wish they had strawberries for the waffles. This hotel is close to the National Soaring Museum and therefore is the hotel of choice for most of the trustees. We are happy its available, and seems to be modernizing to suit current hotel standards. Great choice.
Hotel parking lot was very small. Bathroom in hotel room was very small. Pillows were like a travel pillow very small. Breakfast area very small and had to ask for everything as they did not keep it stocked. Would not stay again even if it was a quick stop just to sleep. Hallways and rooms had a gross smell.
This room opened up at the last minute so I took it for two nights. The room was decent condition--clean. However, from the moment I opened the door to the day I checked out, the smell of cigarette smoke was so strong--24/7. It never let up--as if someone was there smoking nonstop. There were no ashtrays when I checked in---I should have asked for nonsmoking room, but didnt think to. The problem is with air circulation systems which only recirculate air from room to room so even a non smoking room would smell. It was so bad that the mask of my cpap machine still smells of smoke after many cleanings.
Our stay at Econo Lodge Elmira was nothing short of horrific and absolutely unacceptable. This all began with the swipe of my room key when I was immediately hit with an overwhelming brick wall of think cigarette smell. Every porous surface was soaked with this offensive odor that for certain came to be from years of uncleanliness. Half a bottle of extra strength Febreeze and a few air fresheners later the smell in the room was barely tolerable. This and other cleaning supplies were purchased at your local Walmart. The carpet was clearly not vacuumed, TV console had a layer of dust, the inside of the fridge and microwave were deplorable as evident by spilled food debris that had not been cleaned up in quite awhile. Cob webs cascaded from every corner and one of the wall outlets was out of the wall with the wiring exposed. Said outlet was right next to my roll away bedroom which I will elaborate on later. Moving along to the bathroom area I was met with more filth. There were greasy, black finger prints on the doorway molding. The bathroom wreaked of urine that no amount of Clorox could remove. There was hair in the cigarette burn stained tub. I showered with my flip flops on. It was very clear that the hotels version of cleaning happened before we entered our room however. This was evident by the decoratively folded end of the toilet paper roll and stock of Econo Lodge branded complimentary toiletries. On top of the presenting filth, the air conditioning unit was not functioning to par as no change would happen with the increase or decrease in the temperature setting on the unit. Uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the bedding, I requested a roll away bed. To no surprise to me the bed was broken. No only did my feet dangle down to the floor through the mattress but the blanket had cigarette burn holes in it. My family and I survived our visit but walked away both shocked and appalled. Checking out the next day when I briefly described our stay to the employee at the front desk we were reimbursed 30% of the room rate for our stay. Maybe because our room was next to a smoking room or the fact that a maintenance worker had worked on the ac unit immediately prior to our say were both suggested reasons for the rooms condition from the front desk staff. While this was appreciated it in no way made the situation right. I will never stay at an Econo Lodge in the future and have made certain to share my experience with anyone who will listen.
Place is not kept up. Upon checkingin lobby and hallway floors were dirty and in need of a vacuum. Air was poorly working and we were told no other rooms to change toGuy told me most rooms with air werent working. Nice.Water in room trickles out of shower, heard neighbors complaining about same issue. If you flush the toilet no water comes out of the sink. Room was clean but they need to work on these issues
I was a bit disappointed this time. It is just the opposite of of our experienceas last time. Brrakfast was not attended by anyone. No milkVery little cereal in the dispenser. Our room was not as good as it was last time. Anyway it was not what we expected. We will be staying here again in about 5 days. Lets see if things are different. For the inconvenience I am asking whether we will get a lower rate. I think we should.
The front desk staff was courteous and helpful, but I was charged $40 for an extra 4 hours, even though I was running the marathon (which is good publicity for any city a business is located in) and needed to freshen up before I drove back the 4.5 hours. My experience in the Binghamton, NY, Econo Lodge was a lot better where I was allowed the extra 4 hours to shower and feel a bit better before hitting the road, without the extra $40 charge. I will definitely be back to that one. Not so sure about this though.
A couple hours after arriving there was a black out but the overnight staff remained calm and professional! The Lodge itself needs a lot of care such as paint towels, plumbing, ...there was a 4 foot by about 5foot hole in the ceiling at the top of the 2nd floor stairs ... look up youll see it... breakfast was a little scarce but i guess for the price idk...
Wonderful staff. The woman that checked me in went above and beyond for me. She even tried to find me a usb outlet plug so I could charge my iPhone. I have really long and thick hair so a little bottle of shampoo and conditioner wont cut it and she hooked me up with extra and extra towels. They have very clean rooms, a lot better than Ive seen when i stayed at other more expensive hotels.
This place definitely met a five star rating for bang for your buck. You get what your pay for. Cons: Outdoor facing rooms. Hot breakfast game not strong. The door was a little drafty. Pros: Distance from airport. VERY helpful and nice staff. They let you leave your car there while youre on your trip to [wherever you flew to] instead of paying an extra $35-45 to the Airport. All the basics. TV, clean room, no smells, restaurants in the same parking lot, and very very inexpensive. If this room were $90-100, Id give it 4 stars. If it were $130+, Id give it three stars. I wouldnt pay more than that. (Review relevant to 2018 $USD)
The rooms both reeked of cigarette smoke and you couldnt open the windows to air them out/get fresh air. There was black mould on the ceiling of one of our rooms that we didnt notice until the next morning. I highly doubt no one has noticed it before as it was rather large. We were told that the front desk would let maintenance know about it but I dont feel confident that it will be taken care of.
Very outdated. Online description on clc ap is very wrong. There is no restaurant nor interior corridors. There is a taco bell on one side and an Applebees on the other but they have nothing to do with the hotel. They have about 5 things to pick from for breakfast and yeah. The room was tiny bed was huge...so big the bathroom door hit it if it opened all the way! Anyways thats about it. It did have a fridge and a microwave the microwave looked dirty and like it was from 1970.
I travel a lot throughout the year and almost always choose Choice Hotels for my stays, with great experiences. This one though was not. We arrived on a Friday night and had an issue getting our door to latch shut. Once we did, upon realizing we forgot toothpaste and calling the front desk, they brought us one. However, we couldnt open our door. I had to shove a key under the door so that the employee could unlock with the card to get us out. He offered to move us rooms, but we had already unpacked and were ready for bed, so I said we would stick it out through the night if it could be fixed tomorrow and someone could let us out. Next morning, we are let out, all is well. We get back late that night, I lean against the door while fishing for my key and the door opens right up. It had been unlocked all day and still wasnt fixed. I call the front desk to let them know and basically got the not my problem response and the next morning upon being let out, same thing, Ill let a manager know and we will make sure its taken care of. I never did hear back from anyone and was still charged for my room, despite the inconvenience, and our room being opened up all day long. The rooms were nice enough but this experience was incredibly frustrating. I dont think I will be returning to this hotel.
Hotel is okay for an overnight stay. Bed was clean and comfortable but bathroom was small and outdated. While is it located close to restaurants and shopping areas, the hotel can use a complete updating. Lobby is practically inside the small dining area. Exterior is not too eye-appealing.
The Best sleep Ive had in years. The Bed was sooo comfortable. The bathroom was also the best. Good water pressure, easy to regulate. The price was ideal. When we return to Elmira we will be back.A day ago we stayed at a Lodging facility up in Intervale, NH and the shower water nearly burnt me. They will remain unnamed, however we played close to $200.00 for a night and had a bad experience.I highly recommend this particular Econo Lodge.
The room was large with a king size bed, a large flat screen tv, a desk with chair. The bed was comfortable, bedding clean. The bathroom was small with a sink outside the bathroom. Wi-Fi was free but slow...Breakfast included coffee, tea, waffles, eggs, bacon, cereal and a small selection of pastries. The motel prices in the Elmira-Corning are expensive. This motel certainly filled our needs at a more reasonable price.
Friendly staff, clean room, convenient location. We needed to do laundry, since we had been on the road for about a month. Lets just say I shouldve done all the wash by hand, the washer didnt rinse well at all and it took about 2 hours to dry the 1 load of laundry we had. I checked the lint catcher and it was clean, so just dont waste your money unless your desperate.
There were not enough parking spots for all guests. Breakfast was there...coffee/tea, waffles, yogurt; no fresh fruit. Room was on the grungy side; dirty walls and ceiling in bathroom. The staff at night in the lobby were so loud, 1 am, that it was difficult to sleep as well in the am when the whole hotel goes for breakfast. You cant sleep at night and are awakened early. Was a smoking room and was awful but there where no other open hotels in the area, I tried covering up with perfume to no avail.Fridge and microwave in room and great wi-fi signal.
We always use this hotel when we are in town. Just think the room we had needed a little updating like maybe the rug being changed other than that always a friendly staff and the food was ok . They were out of muffins and very limited on Rolls . this time but the Waffles are great :)
Needed a place to stay after traveling all day and spotted Econo Lodge while While searching for fuel for my car. I had stayed at other local lodgings in the past and found them to be fairly expensive. Decided to give Econo Lodge a try this time and was very satisfied. It was clean, neat, easy toget in to and out of and the rate was about half that of the other local name brand motels.
I had to land my plane at the nearby airport because of bad weather. It was easy to check in without a reservation and the room was fine and quiet. One of the best beds Ive encountered. Clean although the vending machine in the middle of the sidewalk was a little weird.
Hotel is dated, overpriced for the room you receive. Parking and eating area was very limited. Breakfast is supposed to be hot but the eggs, biscuits & gravy were cold. Would rather have slept in a tent and eaten a granola bar for breakfast. I hate camping but it wouldve been a better option.
This by no means is a great hotel. Something happened in the bathroom at some point, kind of looked like a cleaned up murder. It fit what i needed for the night, it had a great price, and the staff eas wonderful. This is a great hotel choice for truckers or people who dont realize there is a phish concert the same weekend and all of the other hotels are booked.
Weve stayed at quite a few EconoLodges. This is the first one weve been to that had hot items for breakfast. On our visit (one night), there was bacon, omelets and waffles............along with the regular continental items like cereal, bagels, muffins. The only downside was there was no fruit offered. Staff was friendly and the room/beds were comfortable. Would DEFINITELY stay at THIS EconoLodge again!
The accommodations inside the hotel were clean, and the staff was very friendly. Although once we were in our room, and did not ear housekeeping knock. She just walked in, we had only been there 1 night, not quite sure what she was doing. What could we have possibly needed after just a few hours after checking in?
Our experience at the Econolodge, Elmira was adequate, but certainly not one to be remembered. The hotel seems dated. The breakfast offering was adewuate but minimal choices. The staff was excellent and very cordial and helpful. Bottom line, we probably will spend the extra dollars for a competitor next time we travel that way.
I do not want to bash this motel. It is adequate for a 1 night stay but I would look elsewhere if I was staying for an extended period of time. Very small breakfast room and the cleanliness of my room was sub-par. I actually looked under the mattress to check for bed bugs. None were found. Just not an upscale motel.
The Econo lodge in Big Flatts, NY is out of date. Although it is a non-smoking hotel. The entire facility smells of ash trays. The wall and flooring our outdated and the shower is too small for a 57 person to fit under. Although a convenient location, the hotel itself is not going to be to your liking if you are expecting an average, clean and comfortable stay. It is more a in for the night because everywhere else is booked kind of place.
We just needed a place to sleep. This is definitely not a high quality hotel but for the price paid it was clean, comfortable and warm. I did not like that the front and back doors were always unlocked but the locks on my door were used. I would stay here again if in that area.
Fulfills our needs as a business. Clean, friendly staff, and economical Wish the beds were larger as we often travel in groups of three adults. Great location. Close to our event and restaurants. Have stayed here for a number of years and will continue to do so in the future.
The room next door to us was extremely noisy. l called the front desk 10 TIMES to request assistance in dealing with this from 10 PM until 1 AM. He never came up to ask them to stop partying and be quiet so other guests could get some sleep. Finally l insisted that he come up and deal with this and l would wait in the hallway until he came up; this finally happened at 1:15 am. He knocked on their door and then APOLOGIZED TO THEM FOR DISRUPTING their party!! and asked me to return to my room. l had to ask the partyers to please keep their noise down so l could get some sleep. l know this story might not sound real or true but it is!! l can only assume the room next door was occupied by friends of the hotel manager and the staff was instructed not to bother their partying. lm not sure where they were from. l was extremely shocked by this experience and WILL NEVER STAY AT AN ECONOLODGE again. l have stayed at this place for years as it is convenient on my frequent 12 hour drive. I will never stay at an Econolodge again.
I must admit to being pleasantly surprised by the accommodations here at the Econolodge. Having stayed at various similarly priced establishments in and around Elmira over the last month for business, Ive seen some rather iffy hotels. True, the parking lot is a bit of a mess, and I literally cant stand upright in the shower, but everything is clean and my welcome was warm. So was the breakfast, which I wasnt expecting, but was certainly a great way to start the day. Ill most certainly be back.
Nicely renovated, spacious, comfortable rooms; nice, attractive bedding, furniture, TV, coffee maker, fridge; only the microwave was a bit outdated, and the shower/toilet room was a bit cramped, but the sink is separate, in the entryway; breakfast was very basic but decent
Room had mold above sink. Vent in bathroom was so loud we couldnt even use it. You could hear everything going on in the rooms around us, ex. water running, people talking. Front desk tried to let them self in our room after we had checked in. When I mentioned this to the front desk in the morning they did nothing other than write stuff down. I would never stay here again. It was terrible.
If youre looking for a cheap place to crash for the night, this is your place. Just the basics in this clean but dated motel. Hot breakfast is served in a very cramped room but the food is good. Pretty quiet considering its between a highway and major road. Several dining and shopping options within walking distance.
They dont check ID when you check in, so anyone can be anyone. Room was clean, but kitchen area was dirty. Noted in room near check in office, drug deal and possible prostitution occurring. The cloud of smoke out of that room reeked of weed, and who knows what else. We went back and turned our keys back in, and checked in at the Country inn and suites. So, if you have young kids, dont stay here, but if you are looking for a no questions asked place to conduct your business, then this is your place. We were fooled by the great and ignorant reviews.
Bad smoking smell for both non-smoking room and smoking room. Staff supposes to be at front desk is missing most time during the day. Slow re-fill for breakfast stuff, no milk or other similar food are served after 9am as it was claimed to be out.Depends where you go, the location is far from finger lake, average 45 mins to nearby scenery.Having said that, thats the one I will avoid in future.
The place needs a good regular cleaning and garbage removal. The Econolodge concept is a great one,but tools have a place and the gutters must be kept on the building to prevent roof damage, not to mention the waterfall sounds at night during a rain storm. Little holes left unrepaired in walls when left for years become numerous and noticable. Big time and money to fix them all at once. Penny wise but pound foolish. Its still an econolodge, but its being squeezed to an early unnecessary death.
Myself and my bf drove up from NC to Elmira for a baseball tournament. Check in was fast, room was clean, overall a good stay. Close to everything you need, TGI Fridays is right across the street from the hotel along with other store near by like Old Navy. Would definitely stay again
Room stunk and dirty. I had to go to Walmart to get proper towels, air freshener and candles. Internet access was not available. No exchange rooms available because of NASCAR else I would have paid more for comfort. Do not waste your time. Better off going camping with tent.

2022-06-15This was reasonably priced. Exactly what we needed. They were remodeling. We got to our room and the windows were covered with brown paper and painter’s tape. Lol! It was fine we just wanted a clean, reasonable place to sleep and shower. It was a bit dark even with the lights but we were not there to sit in a hotel room all day- just sleep. I would stay there again. I bookmarked it so if we go that way again we can stay there. It’s close to a lot of store’s and restaurants. We didn’t use the TV, microwave or hairdryer. The fridge worked fine. Clean bathroom. Stayed on 2nd floor.

2022-06-10Friendly service, clean room and great price. They where painting and doing upgrades to the hotel, which isnt common for less expensive hotels. I have paid more at other hotels that where not as nice. I drive through that area regularly and will definitely use them again. Walking distance to restaurants and stores.

2022-03-31Positive: The room is up to date. Good carpet, wallpaper, furniture. Hairdryer, iron and board, microwave, fridge, coffee maker with coffee. Negative: Exterior is shabby throwback, poor parking lot, lobby needs a lot of work. The building sits by itself and you might think its closed. But at least, and I was surprised, they have invested in upkeeping the rooms, which in the end, is the important part

2022-05-08The rooms were a little congested due to being on the 2nd floor and the windows not opening. It smelled pretty stuffy but, the rooms were clean, missing a blanket on both beds. The bathroom is just a tub/shower and toilet which is fine but they are so small that only 1 person can just stand in there at a time! There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot with coffee that were all very clean in the rooms, wifi and direct TV! Perfect for a quiet night away.

2022-06-02Rooms are way overpriced. I stayed for a week and my room didnt get serviced once I never even got fresh towels I had to go down and ask for more everyday and half the time there was no one at the front desk. AC barely works, there was water damage, and mold. I could keep going but overall I do not recommend.

2022-05-05Positive: The fact that when asking for something they where very nice to listen to me and make what I asked possible. Check out time was asked more than once if I was out so I didnt get charged for a extra night. Really appreciate understanding and kindness. Negative: There wasnt had open space to think no problem what so ever.

2022-03-17The room could have definitely been cleaned better. Water stains on the ceiling and wall, tub and toilet was dirty, chairs were broken or ragged the tv didnt work for about 3hrs because they had to change the cable box. It smelled of smoke when its a smoke free hotel. We also didnt receive our deposit back at all when its been over 2weeks. They have a regular wall socket (for two plugs only) but have the tv, cable box refrigerator, lamp, and DVD player all in the same...so you have to choose if you want the refrigerator or tv plugged in. Overall it was the dirtiest hotel I ever stayed in and wont be again.

2022-03-16Room was clean, owner was very nice. Staff was helpful. Stayed 3 days but no one knocked on my door to replenish supplies to the room. I recommend this place for a quiet stay.

2022-06-15Outside getting a face-lift but inside leaves something to be desired. Under sheets and between mattress and springs are full of hair and dirty. Bed was barely made and comforter had burn holes in it. Room only had 2 dim lamps on each night stand so it was very dark in the room. I had to get the flashlight out of my car to inspect things. All surfaces were dirty, they were wiped down but the rag must have been filty. My wife had to buy clorox cleanups to clean them. Shower looked to have been wiped down with the same rag as other surfaces. No hair dryer in room but the mount was there, no tissues. The toilet kept refilling as it must have had a leak. The deadbolt for the door would not work as newer locks look to have been added but were not aligned. Any repair in the room and bathroom looked like something a 10 yr old would do. No breakfast bar whatsoever, coffee only. Not worth the money or points in my opinion, luckily I used points and was not out cash. Very disapointing and the pictures are very misleading!

2022-04-08*** POTENTIAL CLIENTS BEWARE***#1 You must read past the 4 and 5 Star Reviews.#2 Request to perform a Walk-Through of at least the room they are reserving Prior to entering the room with any of your personal belongings. Otherwise, they can & most likely will deny a room change or cancellation. Andy, the manager(or owner) of the property, is a sneaky man. He WILL keep your funds, and potentially your deposit.I stayed at this location a few years ago. At that time, the hotel was clean, management was professional, and the stay was pleasant, so I elected to book again. BAD DECISION. For this visit/Round 2, Initial Check-In was fine. I noted some dated cosmetic issues as I passed the lobby, but I wasnt expecting anything pristine for the price paid. Note: this location does not have an elevator. Goal in mind was to have a respectable stay and a quiet nights rest. Apparently I was asking for too much. After entering the room, I noted a few more concerns like buckled/collapsed towel bars, large crayon-like stains on the carpet, stained ceilings, sheetrock dust , grime on the shower fixtures, an odd musty smell, and a urine and feces-coated toilet and surrounding floor. From this point, I called the front desk and requested another room, which was denied. He explained that there were no other rooms available, and would have someone come clean the toilet. I gathered up our belongings and loaded them in the car, then left to eat some dinner and think about whether or not I would listen to my gut instinct and find another hotel. My daughter and I returned after dinner, to discover that the staff was cleaning/gutting/renovating (who knows..) the room directly across the hall at 7:45pm. At 8:30pm, I nicely asked the crew when they were going to be finished for the night, since my daughter was trying to go to sleep for the evening. They kindly wrapped up whatever they were doing and were gone within 10 minutes. At about 9pm, conversations of the new guests in the next room could be clearly heard through the door of the dividing wall. at about 9:45ish, their conversation transformed into sexual breathing and moaning. I again called the front desk, and asked for another room after explaining the newest frustration. Management said he could not put me in another room, and would call and notify the guests. I heard their phone ring on at least 3 separate occasions, but the guests did not answer. Im guessing they were distracted. I then knocked on the dividing door, and told them to knock it off...which they did for a few minutes. At this point, I was done with the hotel visit. I grabbed the luggage and loaded the car. I once again told Andy that i needed a refund for the room. He replied that he could not refund the room, and instructed me to contact Hotels.com for the refund. I also noted that 2 women were trying to get a refund when I was leaving the lobby that night as I was carrying my daughter out. I drove until I noticed another hotel, and asked for a room. We ended up at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, which is where I am currently writing this review from. Despite my fridge in the room not working, I have ZERO complaints here. I will return. This morning, I reached out to Hotels.com, who has been great so far. The agent contacted Andy at this location in Horseheads, NY. Andy told the agent that he will not refund my money because I stayed in the room. I will get a refund. and someone will read this review and think otherwise of staying with the Econo Lodge, located at 871 County Rd 64, Elmira, NY 14903.Good Luck and Safe Travels to the reviewers.
