The owner is great and really helpful. However the man that works nights made us decide to leave and never come back. I had 2 rooms and a card on file with an agreement with the owner to renew the rooms unless told otherwise. My employees came back after driving all day to find there belongings gone and when I called the front desk and ask why he did not honor the agreement his response was that he did not know of one and that he could not check them back in without my card. I found another hotel for my employees. I will move all employees away from because of this mans rudness. I pray my employees get their belongings back promptly.
The staff at this econolodge are very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are what you might expect. They are somewhat clean. The decor is dated and showing its near end of life cycle. These rooms though, do have a mini fridge and microwave, wi-fi, and at least a few channels to pick from for viewing. And for the price I think its a reasonable deal.
They left me vulnerable. Never leave your personal items in your room or they will steal it. I pay them to let thieves into my room when I never ask for room service. Other than that if you give manager a problem they will never give you service again. Poor room service. I found old used tissue in bed, blood stain on the carpet floor. And no dont not disturb sign provide. Bunch of liers and management only looking out for his own.
Hallway smelled like pot. Room was dirty upon arrival, it still had the last persons stuff in refrigerator, bed linen stained and dingy. FOUR (4) police were there at once ( scary place) and towels are dingy and nasty looking. My grandkids could have cleaned better than housekeeping. I would NEVER recommend anyone stay there!!
The hotel staff was friendly upon arrival. The room was unclean and poorly maintained. Refrigerator still had food in it and was not cleaned. Floors were dirty. Towels were dingy and gray. Bed covering was stained and appeared dirty, so I brought in my own blankets to sleep on. Things appeared to have been wiped down with a dirty cloth. Streaks on all mirrors, tables, etc. from improper cleaning. I had to clean and sanitize everything in room myself. Hall smelled like pot all the time. Sketchy guests and 4 Sherriff cars had to come to hotel. Location is great, but the hotel is not kept up at all. Grounds outside were littered with garbage everywhere.
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I did not feel safe. There were People doing drugs all over the place. The hotel common public areas and rooms were filthy. Do not stay here! It’s the kind of hotel people rent for an hour or two. Not what I was looking for after I dropped my daughter off at college!
Overall it was ok. Price was right, beds were clean and comfortable. The room I had was Quiet and good location to unload/ load vehicle. The room was sort of updated ( beds and furniture was a lot newer than the most of the hotel and staff very friendly good location. However the breakfast was very limited no fruit or any protein ( like yogurt/ eggs ) and some of the hallways really need carpet replaced. There was a heavy air fresher smell when first got in the room but once fan was on it was not as bad. You can tell that there had been some water damage and the repair was not done all that well. The breakfast area had a nice touch of the outdoor eating area. And pet charge was very reasonable
It was disgusting, we left. Shocked Econo lodge allows their name on it. First room dirty, 324 the toilet mounted crooked and substances of some kind om night stand, halls smiledike pot, moved to room 204 soon I saw broken plate cover 75% missing, together with smell of both room and stains on carpet of 204 I called priceline got a refund and left. Extremely disappointed as we were also tired
I stayed one night..room was quiet and staff was amazing..I forgot my bag back in the room..remembered right before leaving ny...called front desk and the amazing guy at the front desk(sorry didnt ask a name) went and got my bag from my room so I could pick it up!! He was extremely helpful and will stay again on my travels
I had nowhere to go & they took me in & took care of me. Roof over my head. Clean. As someone with spine issues I found their beds comfy. Clean towels, sheets, friendly. Mini fridge & microwave. Its not a 5star but if you need a comfy bed & a roof over your head...I highly recommend. It may not be 5 star but Definitely suits your purpose!
Its a 2 star hotel, but for a 2 star hotel, it was pretty clean and the continental breakfast was a nice touch. It was a perfect stop-over hotel for me and my family. Everyone who worked there was super accommodating and nice. The hotel smells a little of smoke when you walk in (even in the non-smoking section). I can only assume its from the years as a full-smoking hotel. Having a microwave and fridge/freezer in the room was a major plus for us. The beds were clean and comfortable. The pillows were soft and new.Continental breakfast was incredibly fresh and updated during the opening times (so if you come close to the end of breakfast, there is still a selection). There was waffle batter and a waffle maker, muffins, cereal/milk, bagels, English muffins, bread, spreads, juice, coffee and tea. The only thing that I would recommend here would be some fresh fruit to broaden the meal.FYI there is no longer a pool.
5 stars for every member of the staff! From Rudy and Terry at the front desk to KP in housekeeping, everybody greeted me with a smile and impeccable service. My room was clean and spacious, and even ready for me several hours before the arranged check-in time - and they gave me a later check-out too! The bed sheets were clean and I liked the powerful air conditioner. All in all, it was a great price for a night in a really excellent location, in walking distance to fast food and casual restaurants, and a convenience store. Really looking forward to seeing what everything looks like after the big renovations are done!
I arrived around 10pm Friday night. Check in was easy, but when I got to the room it had never been cleaned. There were wet towels on bathroom floor, the beds were a mess, the blankets and pillows thrown around like some one had just got out of bed, showered and left 10 minutes prior to me getting there. Went to front desk for another room, they said sold out. He was not very helpful. I asked if room could be cleaned, he said no one was in house cleaning. I asked for fresh linens and towels so I could change everything my self. I got 1 towel, there were two of us, and one set of sheets, there are two beds. Needless to say we slept in one bed because I only had one set of clean sheets. If I had not have been driving for almost 6 hours I would have left and tried to find another place to stay.
Rooms were small. Bathrooms were super small and could use a deep deep cleaning. Didnt like that we had to go outside and around the whole building to get to the room. The air conditioner unit was out dated and loud. The site claims there is a pool but it was dug up. If you want the offered breakfast up have to get there the minute it is offered as it goes very quickly, it smelled delicious but we sadly werent there in time to get anymore then a hard orange and stale cup of coffee.
When I arrived in room 322, I found the television was not working, and worse than that, the bed linens had not been cleaned. There were clumps of human hair matted on the sheets, and I went to the front desk to request a room change at that point. The woman on staff told me there was no room to spare because they were very busy, but she assured me she would send maintenance and housekeeping to my room within half an hour. I asked if I needed to be present to let them in, because I was leaving for a work meeting, and she told me they would let themselves in.Several hours later when I returned to the room around 9 PM, I found that no one had been by to fix the television or change the bed linens. The sheets were still full of hair and filthy. At that point I called the front desk to complain again, and a new women assured me that she would call the manager, who would send maintenance. Finally the maintenance person did arrive. He fixed the television, then gave me sheets. I had to help to change my own bed in the hotel -- and that, to me, is completely unacceptable. That is not what I paid for. Even for an economic choice hotel, I expect the room to be sanitary at minimum.Additionally, the overhead light didnt work, and the bathroom towels and floor were dirty. However, what upset me most about this experience was the dirty bed linens (and the fact that no one changed them the first time, even though I was explicitly assured that it would be taken care of).
Booked through Choice Hotels. This hotel had a 3 out of 5 and it was late and we were tired and we took it. I had to take photos. The room smells. The bathroom mirror which is huge, has a diagonal crack across it. The handle to the bathroom sink came off in my hand. Stains big and small all over the carpets. The towels had been used and folded back in place. The first thing I checked was for bed bugs and thankfully I did see any. the TV tuner was disgusting to hold. The outside of the bathroom door was filthy. I gave it a one because there wasnt anything less.
Id give this a 3+ -plus, not quite 4. Very friendly helpful staff. The first room we were given was listed as nonsmoking but smelled strongly of smoke. The nice concierge immediately offered a choice of different rooms. We were able to pick a nice suite at no extra charge!PLUSES- comfortable clean and quiet. AC worked great.Includes fridge and microwave, plenty of parking. Nice complimentary hot breakfast!MINUSES- the pool was empty. Maybe because its only June, but we were very disappointed. It was a hot day and we were hoping to swim.Clean rooms but there was a dirty washcloth from previous occupantsBut in general a nice place for our stay.
An older hotel with at least some of the rooms refurbished fairly recently. The rooms are clean and the staff is *great*. The older isnt as it extends to the smoke smell in the hallways. We didnt try the complimentary breakfast so I cant comment on that. I wasnt able to get a WiFi signal.
The best part of the hotel is the front lobby. The rooms are terrible . The toilet seat had rust around the back and the base of the toilet was dirty. The toilet seats were too small for the base. Bear in mind I had reserved four rooms and all were bad. I slept with a towel covering the pillows. I am not a picky person but had I been on my own I would not have stayed even though I had prepaid nonrefundable. Also the front desk staff were not helpful .
Its A Nice Clean BUG FREE Hotel. The Staff Is Amazing . They Are Kind Caring Respectful People . The Rooms Are Very Well Maintained And Clean . If I Had A Issue With Anything Or Needed Anything At All I Just Had To Call The Front Desk And They Helped Us Right Away I Definitely Recommend This Hotel
The manager and staff here a very kind and accommodating, even with my mother who fell ill while we were staying. My room was very clean and the breakfast is quite good and prompt every morning. Anyone looking for a place to stay in Binghamton without feeling like your being hassled by people who are just waiting for you leave, i highly recommend this establishment!
Hotel is old but pleasant. Very convenient access off interstate. The kids loved the outdoor pool...not an itty, bitty one like indoor pools. The room was clean and had no smells (economy hotels seem to have more smells). Security was good...key cards needed to gain entry from parking lot. Parking was good and easy access to room. Breakfast was marginal but satisfied the kids (breakfast area was tight). Staff was fine. Fridge and microwave in room was nice to have. Bathroom good...indoor hot showers are the greatest convenience next to indoor flush toilets. Indoor plumbing is expected..any day started with a hot shower is a day worth living. Ice machine was close but not so close I could hear it. Hotel is good enough for the price but not overwhelming.
The room was filthy and I mean filthy. Bathroom floor was filthy, toilet too. Junction of tub and wall line was moldy. Mirrors were not clean. Headboard was dirty too. I would NEVER stay at this place again and would seriously pause before staying at an Econolodge EVER again. I am surprised this hotel is within the Choice Hotels domain. However, I do realize it is just a bad apple as we have never been dissatisfied before.
While the staff was very nice and the room was pretty clean, I was disturbed by the strong smell of smoke in my non-smoking room. I noticed a smell of some kind of air freshener the hotel used to try to cover up the smoke, it didnt help much and only added to the unhealthy environment. The heater was covered with dust; it would help if they kept it clean.
Stayed here several years on way to Florida but never again. This was never a great hotel but it was adequate for our needs and relatively clean. This time there was built up dirt in the corners of bathroom, disgusting mirrors, hair in blocked sink, bathtub not clean, unwashed ashtrays etc. Bed linens were thin but looked clean so since we were tired decided to stay and wait until our next stop to shower.
This is the 2nd year I have stayed at this hotel. We came back this year because they were so great to us last year. The staff is great at the front desk, but my favorite are the cleaning people. I never got their names but it was a man and woman who worked together everyday. They were always so kind. My puppies were always happy to see them in the mornings and would jump up to say hello to them and they always paid them a little attention and gave them a scrub on the head. Its really important to me that puppies are treated well. They took great care or our room and were always happy to help us. We would happily stay there again. Everything we needed was in that room at a much better price than the other hotels in the area. I really appreciate that the pet fee is lower than most hotels at $5 a pet per night.
Avoid this place at all cost. All the 1 star reviews summarize this place quite well. The carpet is old and stained, the non-smoking hallways smell of smoke, the floors are so disgusting I kept my shoes on the whole time, the bedsheets are stained and disgusting, the bathroom grout is mouldy, the toilets are dirty, the heater is loud and smells of burnt dust. The breakfast is very basic. See the photos I took.Edit: I was offered a partial refund after I complained, and instead of taking 5 business days as Gary told me, it has now been an entire month despite the fact that I have sent repeat reminders throughout this period.
Not only was Terry the quickest check-in I have ever had anywhere, she is an exemplary personality to mnage the front desk and everything else. She is wonderful, as was the clean, comfy room and the great breakfast! Best of all was the soundproofed walls and doors. Best night sleep Ive ever had while travelling! Awesome clean bathroom, wish Id had time for the jacuzzi. Best quality and value anywhere in or near Binghamton. Wish Id stayed there the entire time my son was a student-now hes working there, and I will definitely always stay here!
Hotel breakfast area has been renovated and the lobby is in the process. Rooms and beds are comfortable and clean with decent amenities. We have never had a problem with noisy neighbors and there is plenty of grassy areas to walk our pets. Staff is always pleasant and helpful.
Generally a nice place. Breakfast was continental-style, with no protein and very few sugar-free items (only sweetener; no jelly or pancake syrup). I mentioned this lack of sugar-free products to the person who was maintaining the breakfast space, and she tried to find some at nearby facilities. Hotel had only 1 handicapped-accessible room, which was occupied by a long-term guest.
This hotel is TERRIBLE!! My family and I have stayed at this hotel. Our recent (last) stay 8/26/17 was terrible. It came to a surprise to us that they removed the pool. My daughter (7yr old) really wanted to go swimming. I approached the manager and he didnt even offer to lower our 1 night rate. We still paid full price. Not very accommodating. The bathroom by the dining area was disgusting. They had wet towels wrapped around the toilet. They dont seem much to care about this place. Not going there ever again. Dont waste your money
I love coming to this hotel and have been doing sofor several years. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. The rooms and cleanand neat. The bathroom has a great shower. The water pressure is strong and feels greatafter a long drive! In the summer, the pool is very nice and refreshing.Would recommend this hotel to anyone who asks.
1st room. No window curtains, only hooks. We booked a non smoking room. This room was far from being non smoking room. The AC unit when turned on smell like mold. The entire building carpets was absolutely gross.,filthy, and stained. Including the second room were were moved too. The health department, tourism department, the choice chains needs to inspect this place.
Very outdated and dirty. When you first walk into the hallway to go to your room, it has a weird smell. It should not have been smoke because we chose the non-smoking side. You can tell that the carpet was old and was not cleaned recently. The room carpet was just as bad. Beds were nicely made and the sheets smelled washed. The bathtub had mold on the caulk. The Handle on the hairdryer was caked with dirt. There was also some kind of splatter on the wall we could not identify. The ledge above the window had cups, and who knows what else is up there. We would never stay there again, and advise you not to either.
I booked this room within an hour of notice that I had to travel. We came very late at night to find a smoking room, which I didnt mind. But, once we entered the room it was more than cig smoke. The bedding was never laundered, I can tell from the smell. The floor still had cigarette ash. Bathroom was permanently discolored. We would have left right away if it was not that late at night. The child needed rest, so we stayed and hit the road at first light, like escaping a nightmare. Outside environment of the hotel was consistent with a 2-star hotel: men with beers, smokers and what not. My 2-cent is, this hotel is not good for childrens health. Even grownups, if you dont want to contract any nasty skin disease or syphilis from the previous occupant of the room, dont stay in this hotel.
Unfortunately, there was a strong tobacco smoke odor in the area of the room, and strong disinfectant odor inside. The tub needed to be replaced or fixed due to a tear in the surface. For one night it was manageable. I am glad to see they have a friendly pet policy with just a $5 extra charge. This is better than most other hotels.
Hallways were filthy. Carpet looked as it was not cleaned or vacuumed in years, including the one in our room. Bathroom had paint peeling on the ceiling and wall and there was mold on the floor around the tub. They did not make the beds or give us new towels. We had to call for new ones. The scent of marijuana was everywhere
This place is cheap and close to the highway but that is all... No housekeeping no clean towels unless you go to the front desk and ask and then they just put them on the bed... Had to get my card redone 4 times in 5 days.. also with the low volume of people why put someone in the construction area with no carpet or tile flooring... The ac barely works.. This place sucks and will never get my business again..
The one star is simply for the managers accommodations. Our flights were delayed which caused us to arrive extremely late for check in, I had called as soon as I found this out and the manager said he would take care of it, when we arrived the less than pleasant employee working tried saying we were a no show and would have to rent a new room. He finally called the manager and was told it was taken care of and gave us the original reservation. The outside and the lobby give a false sense of upgrades and clean facilities. The place is very outdated, dirty and plain gross. I showered with flip flops on because I could not bear to step in the tub with my feet. Rooms are dark and dingy and need a lot of help. Linen appeared yellow. When we checked out the woman working was also unpleasant and rude. Never actually met the manager, but at least he was accommodating. Cannotn speak for the free breakfast because after the condition of the room I took my chances with McDonalds. We went during the Baseball Hall of Fame weekend and needed a room every other place was booked. The cheap price and full availability of this hotel are no longer a mystery.
Upon entering our room 11:30 pm after traveling all day, and planning on getting the earliest start in the am. We were extremely disappointed. the toilet seat was up and bowl was dirty, the seat was dirty as well. I had to clean it with disinfectant that I had brought with me. The sink was dirty as well as the floors. The only good thing was the towels did smell clean. The beds were too soft and of poor quality. The tv didnt work for us. ( wanted to put something light on for our grandson as we were getting ready for bed) the carpet was so dirty and stained my grandsons feet were black after walking on it. The breakfast was less than desired. There wasnt even a donut left for my grandson at 7am. Im not sure of what brand of orange juice that was offered. I do know it was sour and tasted spoiled. Coffee was awful. Quite frankly we barely got 4 hours of sleep. Was too tired to complain, and knew that we got the last nonsmoking room, therefore changing room was not an option. I would never go to another Econo Lodge again. We were fortunate to book a Comfort Inn the next night and for the same price we received excellent service, cleanliness, a wonderful hot and tasty breakfast, friendly staff and a great nights sleep.
Very pleasant staff, extremely quick check in and check out. Nice variety of breakfast items, something for everyone. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Good AC. rooms also had refrigerator, microwave & hair dryer. Renovations were being made, but didnt affect our stay. Close to highway, but never heard highway noise. Enjoyed our stay.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice beds, and a free breakfast. Everything was perfect EXCEPT the outdoor pool is DUG UP!After watching the Rumble Ponies (front row in the sun for 3 hours) I was looking forward to a nice cool swim. Went to the pool only to find out that it is DUG up. See my pics. Its not there!Otherwise it is an EXCELLENT hotel that is clean and it was less that $70! If not for the pool issue, it would be perfect!
The hallways were dirty and smelly. I had hoped the room would be better but it was worse. The bathroom floor was sticky with urine and there was feces on the shower curtain. I didn’t expect a fancy motel room. But I expected a clean one. It was so filthy and smelt so offensive I could not even shower there.
Staff when checking in were great! Safe place accidentally left my truck window open all night nothing went missing Room was dirty What looked like dry blood splatter on the walls No hot water - staff didn’t seem to care Breakfast looked good didn’t have time to eat but they need bigger coffee cups so you can take more then a tiny cup with you just went to mc Donald’s for coffee in the am
The room smelled so bad I had to stay in the lobby all night. The mattress was way too soft. The handles were broken off the dresser drawers and could not get them open. The enamel on the tub was coming off. There is not one thing I could say nice about this hotel. The only place the wifi worked was in the lobby.
Nothing good to say. Started when we checked in. Bathroom up front was filthy, no soap or paper towels to dry hands. Had torn old bath towels to dry your hands on. Never saw anything like this! Mentioned the fact that there was no soap, was told yeah I know I have to get some in there! Room was ok, nothing special. Sheets were old and gray looking bathroom left a loot to be desired. Looked like the room was re done but we were not impressed. Halls smelled, noisy, walls seem thin, could hear the people in next room talking and could hear their tv as well as people in the hall.
First off I was scared bcuZ I needed emergency housing and was afraid they’d put us in a bad environment n wen we arrived here bcuZ my home had a septic issue I was so relieved.... the rooms are very clean n I have small children so they even gave me a double room connected n both were in tip top shape. It’s quite here n very safe. The lady at front desk is super sweet n made me feel very comfortable. No bugs , n I haven’t seen anything unsafe or dirty. I am very grateful to be here n I can’t thank the lady enough at the front desk who made ya feel so welcome . I recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay somewhere very affordable n clean . Comfortable n nice area as well .
This place is rundown and felt dirty. Carpet needed a good cleaning. Nobody had bothered to vacuum under the bed. That being said, the guys at check-in and check-out were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast good, but it was a depressing place. The pictures on the website are misleading. However, I stayed at the Econo Lodge in Hadley, MA, and that was the complete opposite from this place. (Clean, colorful and super nice)
Felt a bit sketchy when we pulled in. Noticed they are in the process of remodeling took away some of the anxiety. Clerk at the desk in the evening was very helpful and pleasant. Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast area was clean and spacious. Morning staff was cheerful, accommodating and friendly.
The motel was dated and looked older. However, the room was great. I was surprised at how clean the room was. Even my wife commented on how well the room looked. The staff members were very friendly and eager to help.since this motel is at the outskirts of town, there was very little noise and was located close to restaurants and gas stations.Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
Musty hall odor...first two (non-smoking) rooms smelled bad, looked like mold in ceiling titles of bathroom in one of the rooms. Finally got assigned a third room the was much nicer, cleaner, floor titled instead of older carpets that are in halls. Only problem was a/c unit was pretty noisy.
Excellent parking place, reception Lobby is small but cozy. Dinning area require a little more place.Rooms are spacious and decor is good. Lights in the room are in proper place. A cupboard with an electronic safe would certainly make the room more customer friendly, Carpet is okay. Toilet is good, however an additional hand shower would create more impact.
We were disappointed with the dated decor and cleanliness of this hotel. We were travelling and were looking for a place to stay with the kids that we felt safe at for the night. We watch what appeared to be a drug deal in the back parking lot as we were attempting to get our luggage in. There were no luggage carts or elevator to assist us with our items to our room. As someone with mobility issues this would have been extremely helpful. We were concerned about the safety of our vehicle in the parking lot. I expected more from an econo lodge facility.
The staff was great. Friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The appearance of the place however, was not so great. Looked and felt like a run-down motel. The room felt dirty, and there were popcorn under the bed from the previous guest. The carpet felt dirty. Needs a SERIOUS cleaning. Did NOT want to go barefoot. The way the place and room look on-line is misleading.
Thankfully we only spent one night. They allow smoking and it fills up all the hallways and I could smell it even in our non smoking room. The toilet in our room was the kind that you flush with your foot. It was very odd to see that in a hotel room. The breakfast was disappointing. They had cereal that wasnt marked so I didnt know what kind it was. I dont eat cereal with sugar in it so I wanted to know what kind it was. The had waffles, toast and muffins. The staff were very friendly and we checked into our room quickly. Overall I will never stay here again. Mainly because we are non smokers and we really disliked having to smell cigarette smoke all the time.
We were in town for a Binghamton U tour and stayed one night. The hallways were poorly lit and had such a heavy cigarette smell. Our non-smoking room did too! But room was spacious and kind of retro. In a good way. But there was no microwave or fridge that was mentioned on the website. Broken hair dryer was promptly replaced which was very nice. Not sure we would stay here again though.
The hallway smelled of smoke. This probably should be expected because the hotel permits smoking in some rooms. There was mold in the bathtub tile. The breakfast was pitiful, and many of the options were gone and not restocked even though breakfast hours were not over. The coffee was horrible. I had to wait to check out--there was no one at the front desk when I wanted to leave. Although the price was reasonable, I wont stay here again.
Good stay at reasonable price. Staff very friendly. Only drawback, no restaurant other than MacDonalds in walking distance. Pizza place would not deliver. Also no access to lobby/breakfast room without going outside. Security good. Able to park near room. Made local phone call from room.
I went for my birthday to hot tub room paid 150 for one night the hot tub didnt fill up they sent maintance and put plug in it. Horrible non smoking room it smelled like ciggerates so bad the tub was dirty there wasnt even a chair in the room It was a disaster ...... Ruined my birthday never agian !!! Oh and ppl knocked on the door in middle of night so horrible !!!
If you want to save a bundle on an overnight stay in Binghamton, youll want to stay here. The price is reasonable, and the services received are also reasonable - not great, but acceptable in nearly every respect. This property is a bit run down, but there are signs that a renovation is in progress. It wont come a moment too soon. The breakfast is minimal, with no eggs or meats at all. It would be a lot better if the breakfast room had working AC. The hallways are also hot and stuffy. Overall, though, the experience was ok, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the room was clean.
Dirty bathroom ( stool and urine in lid of toilet cover) carpet not vacuumed (old bandaid found on floor), dust on lamp shades. changed our room, not much better. At least the sheets were clean and bed decent.Rude low life hotel guests woke up the place at 530, took hotel until 7am to call police. Plowed my car in snow when plowing parking lot, than hotel staff wouldnt let us borrow his shovel to shovel myself out!! Was cursed at by same man. Desk attendant said she was not allowed to refund my horrible stay. I sent email to manager/ Owner and have no response yet!
The hotel is rundown and needed remodeling. Hallways and room carpet need to be shampooed. Hallway and room smell of smoke and musty. Bedspread didnt look clean though it probably was. Bathtub floor was yellowed, paint peeling from bathroom ceiling. If we had planned more than a 1 night stay, we would have left to find another hotel. The bright spot was the front desk clerk Tara who was friendly, cordial and did whatever she could within her power to make our stay pleasant. She is your best asset.
The hotel itself is great. It could use some updates and the housekeeping needs more attention to detail - hair in the bathtub upon checking in needs to be addressed. But overall, its clean and well situated near a gas station and is perfect for what I need. Nothing fancy, just good, comfortable accommodations.
The hotel room was absolutely FILTHY with about six inches of dust on the mirror and baseboards. The carpet in the room was so disgusting that we were afraid to walk on it without our shoes. The room stank of mildew and smoke. The bathroom could have used a complete overhaul or at the very least a decent cleaning. We could hear every noise from the adjoining rooms and hallways. The windows are sealed shut so you cant even air out the room. This hotel needs to be torn down.
We were in Binghamton for a school competition. The price looked right for a room so we booked it. The facilities looked ok from the outside but upon entering it was a different story. Décor was dated, front desk direction to room were inaccurate, and when we arrived at our room you could tell that the area was once a smoking wing. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In the a.m. we went for the complimentary breakfast and there was very little food. When I asked about batter for the pancakes the attendant stated that they ran out because there were more guests than they had anticipated.
The lobby and entrance is being renovated, which makes the place look shabby. But the rooms were clean, they have a minimal breakfast included and the price is modest. If you are happy with a clean comfortable bed and bath room, and dont want satin sheets its a reasonable place to stay in a great location.
Place is an old, dilapidated property. Many people I spoke with were truly disappointed in the overall appearance and lack of amenities in this hotel. I know it is a budget hotel but it is dingy, dark and for a non-smoking floor, the place reeked of cigarettes. The heater smelled when you turned it on, the sheets were falling apart and the towels were quite worn. Everything at this property needs to be redone and quickly!
As soon as we walked in the carpet smelled bad which made the entire room smell. The pool had debri in it like chipped paint concrete and full of bugs. Didnt feel comfortable in bed because it just seemed dingy. We couldnt wait to wake up so we could leave. With all the lights on the room was still dark. The bathroom door did not close all the way. The front door was hard to open and close because it got stuck and made a loud noise when getting in and out.
In a smoke free room, however, our clothes smelled of smoke when were out of the room many hours later. The air from smokers rooms came in. While the room appeared clean, it needed alot of maintenance, bathroom vinyl flooring peeling up, and looked unsightly. The hallways stunk if smoke, and ashes were in the stairwell. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Lots of people and kids living here full time, hanging out smoking at the exits etc. Reserved a non smoking room but it was so close to the smoking rooms that the whole room smelled bad. Front desk moved me but my entire bag and it’s contents stink from being in that room.
It smells horrible. The smells of the whole place make my skin itchy. I usually don’t write reviews. But this really sucks for it not to write a review. I should have checked the reviews before booking it. This hotel deserve 0 star. It shouldn’t be 2 star. I’m scared to fall asleep, I feel like something going to crawl on me
The personnel is very friendly and helpful.Very good coffee. The continental breakfast leaves something to be desired. It is a very reasonably priced Hotel which explains the lack of selection.Room and bathroom were clean.Overall, this hotel is a bit tired and could use a redo. For the price, it was adequate.
You do not want to stay at this hotel the place stinks and you cant sleep there it smells so bad maybe cheap but youre going to pay for it in the end because you couldnt sleep cuz we couldnt so do yourself a favor pay that extra buck because youre going to thank me in the morning
The room was cold and smelled stale. When we turned on the heating element in the a/c unit...the smell was horrible! The whole place is in need of a good cleaning. The carpeting in the halls was filthy dirty. The choice of breakfast items was sufficient but the desk clerk was doing double duty and couldnt keep up with refilling the supplies.
First room my son I were assigned the deadbolt did not work and door would not lock properly the floor in shower was absolutely filthy and black mold in corners! The next room we were given there’s dried poop on the underside of the toilet seat! I would not recommend staying here!
Good to see this place is up and running. Way different than it was. FOR ANY PEOPLE TRAVELING LOOKING FOR A CLEAN WELL LITE SAFE AREA THIS IS YOUR HOTEL. ITS RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY MCDONALDS RIGHT NEXT DOOR, BEAUTIFUL FAMILY PARK ACROSS THE STREET, EASY ACCESS BACK TO THE HIGHWAY, NOT TO ADD VERY CLOSE TO THE LOCAL COLLEGE. GOOD LUCK ECONO, MY DAUGHTER IS STAYING WITH YOU FROM SC.
This hotel was a 3 star as told to me by the 1-800 choice hotels customer service. But I wouldnt give it more than 1 or 2. It is under construction and LOW BUDGET. The room carpets were so filthy I could not walk on it without socks. The tub was too slippery to shower in for seniors who are afraid of slipping. So we didnt shower there, and waited for our next hotel stop to shower. The overworked staff is nice though and accommodating as much as they can.
This hotel was very nice. the room was clean, staff was very pleasant and helpful. they need to work on the outside appearance of the hotel, but that did not take away from the quality and stay in the room. the breakfast could have been a little better, but the coffee was great and thats really what I care about more than a muffin.
The hotel double charged for my room which wasnt worth paying for once. The place was absolutely filthy! There was 6 inches of dust on top of the mirror, the bathroom hadnt seen a mop in many years. The outlets and fan in the bathroom didnt work. The room stank of air freshner that failed to cover up the mildew and must smell. The Carpet was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen, turned our socks black. I would have rather stayed in my car. The walls and doors are so thin you hear every noise from the neighboring rooms and hallway. Stay somewhere else!!!!
I travel enough to know the ChoiceHotel brand. I prefer Comfort Suites and Sleep Inn but in this case there was no availability. The EconoLodge was booked based on my prior experience with ChoiceHotels. This EconoLodge is extremely filthy and dilapidated. The knobs fell off the sink. The Jacuzzi bathtub had not been washed in a very long time. The tub had a line of rust and scum from the faucet, down the wall to the drain, and the soap scum continued up the tub. We had to wear flip flops to shower. Even if clean, I am concerned the dented, rusty panel on the outside wall would have worked the tub anyway. There was no indication the rest of the bathroom had been cleaned either (No band around seat, no fold in TP, no complimentary toiletries, towels were stained.) The beds were made but I questioned that the sheets had even been changed. The extra pillows had clearly been stuffed back in the dressers by staff and were not clean. The rug in the room left our socks black. We searched for other availability elsewhere but there was none. We slept on top of the covers in our clothes and checked out promptly in the morning. I could go on but my point is simply this, if you are selecting the hotel based on the strength of the ChoiceHotel brand you need to pick another. This EconoLodge should not be advertised with the logo. Its not only misleading to the consumer but detrimental to the whole ChoiceHotel chain.
Nothing fancy but ok for the one night. Like the fridge and microwave. The bed was soft enough. Pretty convienient to broome county arena.. A shuttle would be nice. I didnt get to do the breakfast but it is good idea. Nice location with everything being walking or short drive away..
Overall, the hotel was descent and fairly clean. It may have been a victim of flooding, as the carpet in our room was a little damp and there was a musty odor in the air. There was apparent repair work being done inside the hotel and the breakfast was less than exciting.
Our lamp shade was ripped. Our bathroom mirror was cracked. Our shower was not well cleaned.Furniture in the room was old...room/hotel definitely needs a renovation.Breakfast room was messy...garbage overflowing, no plates out, but did find some in cupboards underneath, no butter...
Its not as nice as they make it out to be. All the mirrors in my room were dirty finger prints all over them. Cob webs on ceiling. Room didnt look vacuumed at all. Bed frame an pictures above the bed covered in dust.very poor housekeeping!!!Its the week after memorial day and there pool is still green. But the advertise they have a pool yeah that u can look at! Breakfast is crap you only have ceral! I wont be coming back defiantly not worth the price they want!
Decent room, beds and room service. Very good location. Breakfast that is served here is really good and overall stay is really worth the money. It was available during Memorial day long weekend for a very fair price. It is not so far from Pocono mountain area which makes it a good spot to have a night stop.
I was looking to spend as little as required but still with a reputable hotel. I was afraid of the bed so I slept on top with my clothes on.The MOST generic toiletries I have encountered.Very little space for minimal selections for breakfast. They have computer in the very small registration space but no printer. How do you print an airline ticket?
The hallway is dimly lit! Hallway door to street has key but drug addicts left it proped open with carpet. The lobby had an empty milk jug on the floor. The desk clerk sat at desk and mad no attempt to pick it up. The place is filthy and dirty. I will Never stay here again! I will not suggest this anyone. It was a frightening experience.
The room was clean and the bed very comfortable which are the most important things. The remote for the TV did not work. When I went to the lobby for coffee, I took the remote with me. I asked at the desk for one that worked. He said he would have one sent right up to my room. It never came. I was actually going for tea. They didnt have any so I thought I would just have a cup of decaf. None of that either so I grabbed a cup of regular coffee. I got it back to my room. The coffee was cold. Speaking of coffee, the room comes with a refrigerator and microwave which is a nice touch. Would a coffee maker be too much to ask?I will still stay there again because of the clean room and comfortable bed.
Their suites consist of an extra bed with a divider wall, not the living room that one would expect. The rooms are hit or miss. Some are incredible clean and a great value, others are kind of dumpy. I would stay there again, just ask a lot of questions when you are booking to make sure you get the accommodations you are looking for.
Definitely needs work to remodel on the outside. They were remodeling the inside and the room was nice and clean. Would have given it a 4 if someone hadnt been able to open my room door at 10 pm. Im assuming it was a front desk mistake giving another guest the same room number but once was too many times for me as I am a women traveling alone with my small children.
This motel was really poorly maintained. The grounds are covered in cigarette butts and the hallways full of stale smoke. The non-smoking room had chairs with burn holes and was very run-down. The knob to the sink came off in my hand. The pool was unuseable as it was completely covered in dead mosquitos. When i told the desk this they called maintainence to clean it....but I watched from my window as the maintainence person came to look at the pool, shrugged his shoulders and simply left. There was only local, not cable TV. I wont stay here again!!!
We supposedly had a non-smoking room, but the minute we entered the hotel we were overcome by the cigarette smell that permeated the carpets and wallpaper in the halls and stairs. The carpet, handrails, walls were filthy in the common areas. The carpet in the room had apparently been changed, however, guests were smoking in other rooms and it came right into our room. The bathroom was dirty and it had a toilet like you would find in a public restroom. The shower head was like we were being pelted with bullets and it couldnt be adjusted. This place gave us the creepy-crawlies and we couldnt wait to leave!
These folks went out of their way to make us comfortable. We were on our way back to the shelter we work with with 22 cats from the hurricaine. We could not find a pet friendly hotel that would allow our cats to come in even though they were all in crates. These folks not only allowed us to stay, when they found out we were with a rescue, they gave us a discount!!! Thank you.
This location at the intersection of I 81 and Route 17 is very convenient. The hotel is very affordable, especially for truckers and families. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was toast, cereal, and prepackaged muffins. there was a sign saying that they are remodeling the breakfast room. Hopefully that means that eventually they will have a decent breakfast.
Booked a stay for july back in march and when we booked the instantly took 900plus dollars out of my account when on website we choose to pay when we got there, Due to coronavirus they shutdown and didnt tell anyone so on june 9th we cancelled our reservations, Since then no one has picked up the phones and no refund has been issued. Hotels.com cant even get ahold of them. BEWARE stay away. Im about to call the cops and press fraud charges against them.
This was one of the most DISGUSTING motels I have ever been in!!! The sheets smell like they havent been washed in months!!! The smell of cigarettes permeates throughout the entire place. We had a dirty refrigerator AND microwave which was resolved by maintenance wiping it down with a washcloth and using WATER!!!Upon going to the continental breakfast, both mornings I had to request plates (very unorganized!)Unfortunately, we were in town for graduation and this was the only place available...BOOK IN ADVANCE ELSEWHERE SO YOU ARE NOT LEFT WITH THIS LAST RESORT!!!!
Hotel is a dump. It smells, the room door did not close properly - had to lift it, nut shell on the rug, towels stained, tub was worn out with no finish on bottom, toilet is rusted and dirty - it was not even cleaned properly, dirty all over the bathroom counter, bed was old and worn out. television was old and fuzzy. This is the worst hotel we stayed in on a 2 week trip. No one should have to put up with these conditions when paying for a room. DONT STAY HERE. I asked for a refund which I got and moved to another hotel.
There is no rating low enough to write this place if I had to choose between sleeping on the street and sleeping in this hotel again I choose the street it is the worst hotel Ive ever been to in my life I wouldnt recommend this to a pack of wild dogs!!!!!!!!!!!! Crackhead were everywhere, guys were smoking weed at the end of the hallway. When I got you the wrong there were little hairs in the sink smears of lipstick on my pillow spots and stains on the sheets and covers the couch was heavily stained with god-knows-what the floors were dirty I kept my shoes on the whole time even when I slept this run was just horrible!!!! The only good thing that did happen whats the hotel check in clerk was nice Im a truck driver my truck was broke down thats the only reason I did not leave that place.
I arrived at the Hotel at about 6pm and stated that I wanted to pay in cash to find that my credit card had already been debited. The Hotel only seems to offer the Pay at Check in option so I was stunned by the action of the Hotel. Upon Inspection of the receipt I was truly shocked to find the debit had been made at 13:47, more than 2 hours before I had been entitled to cancel the reservation. Anyone considering staying at this Hotel should be very cautious.
Front desk clerk was very courteous and helpful. Halls were dark and dingy. Room had pretty dirty carpet but bedding and bathroom apparently clean. Television remote a terrible piece if junk, hard to operate. Dining area akin to a pigsty. Selection of breakfast items lacking and what they had was not appetizing.
Stayed 3 nights friendly service warm enough Slept ok Tv shoes okNo carpet that’s great no allergies carpets are horrible for people cause of allergies & they are nasty Pretty quit hotel neighbor guests went outside to smoke so that’s was great that guest respected no smoking section in the hotel
It may seem to be inexpensive, but you will be making a big mistake if you stay here. When I arrived in the room there was waste and toilet paper in the toilet, hair in the bath tub, and ashes in the ash trays. I wasnt even sure the sheets were changed. I couldnt wait for the night to be over.
The hotel is noisy, dirty, and under construction. The chairs in the room are stained, the toilet doesnt flush correctly, the fridge is filled with cobwebs and isnt cold. The air conditioner doesnt work. The entire hotel smells like cigarettes. The shower is filled with water stains and looks like it hasnt been cleaned, ever. Will not come back
Me and my co workers had so many problems with this place.Though rooms said no smoking it still smells of smoke. The toilets look like they belong in public batbrooms.speaking of one ofmy co workers didnt work. One of the heaters didnt work and my sheets look like they burned holes through them with cigarettes. But if you do for some reason stay make sure theh dont charge you for extra nights. We asked for 4 they made it 7.
I was very disappointed with this hotel. For the price we paid we did not expect fancy but we did expect clean. The staff was rude, the beds were dirty, the rooms wreaked of weed, there was mold. We were appalled. As stated before, we stayed long enough for our boys to stretch out and get some rest. We left as quickly as possible and didnt bother with the breakfast.
I was there for one night, running the Herald of Victory Marathon, which ended a bit after the checkout time, but at my request, the front desk staff allowed me to take a shower so I wouldnt feel rushed to leave immediately afterwards. The friendliness showed makes me definitely want to visit again. I would highly recommend it.
It may be that I have been spoiled by Comfort Inns, but this did NOT measure up.What is going on with that lobby? Our room had a weird smell. The bed was OK, but too few pillows. The breakfast was VERY meager - no fresh fruit or yogurt. In fact, nothing fresh. Coffee was undrinkable.
I used a reward night to take my kids to see a Binghamton Mets game. Based on the regular prices I have to say this hotel was much better than I expected. Not much different than many of the other choice hotels, a little smaller maybe. II would highly recommend for those not looking to spend a lot on a room. Pool was outstanding
My wife just stayed there this weekend for my daughters softball tournament. Non smoking room on non smoking floor and room stunk like smoke. Dried blood on pillows. Place stunk like weed. Found out from the cops that the place is used as low income families and homeless. Only plus is....cops are always around.....lol
Weekly rates are reasonable if you are in town for a convention or other function. The breakfast is a joke but if you can find your way to the Red Oak Restaurant you can get a good meal at a reasonable price. The Spot diner is good too. Oh yes, the pool has been gone for several years.
One of the worst motel I have stayed in. The advertise a Queen size bed but you get a Full size bed in your room. The staff were helpful though. So helpful that when I asked about the bed and its size....she just smiled and said Sorry about that. Enjoy your stay!.Really how can I enjoy my stay when me and my fiance had to sleep like we were on a Twin size bed...smh.The they advertise BREAKFAST! REALLY...just because you offer juice and a danish, that is not breakfast. I have never had a worse experience with any other hotel or motel. This motel was worse than the Fairview Inn in Delaware. And that is a hooker hotel...smh.
Due to the rising prices of hotels these days; especially during the summer months, one must find the affordable motels that make you feel like you are cared for....like at home. This Econolodge does that and more. The staff is loving and pays attention to all the details....even the least significant ones. I felt good during my lengthy stay here. I have been away from home for some time now yet staying here made me forget that. Yes the beds here could use an upgrade and i am sure that is in the works as the management looks to always enrich the guest experience. If you are in the Albany area, this place gets my vote. Affordable and homey.
This was an overnight stop for an adult and two children. I found the room to be updated, clean, and spacious. The kids loved the pool, fast wifi, and breakfast. Highly recommended. Seems to be Binghamtons hidden secret with the low price. Manager Rudy was very friendly.
Stayed @ Econo Lodge when came to visit Binghamton University. It was very nice - easy, quick check in. Roomneat, clean & quiet. Beds comfy. Bath okay - could use some painting, cosmetic work, but it was fine. Asked forand got a late checkout, which was very helpful. Didnt have breakfast, but the coffee was good. Like refrig inroom. Would come back.
Horrible. Disgusting. Ive staid in some holes before but this one took the cake. I didnt even bother asking for a cleaner room, I could tell by the bed sheets in the one I got what to expect. The cleanest thing in the room was the remote control for the blurry TV with basic cable and no premium channels.
Stayed here 3 nights. This place wreaks of marijuana. The day we were packing up to leave, the swat team showed up! Busted in a few of the rooms upstairs. We were directly under all the action. I think we sped out on 2 wheels! Sleazy place. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else!
The rooms obviously smells like smoke. They say the Hotel is non-smoking but it is obvious it isnt they just try to cover it up. So if you are willing to put up with cigarette smell stay, if not find another hotel. It is overpriced, especially if you have to put up with the smell of smoke.
This hotel does NOT have a pool as it shows in the pictures; its a big mud hole in the middle of the hotel. The rooms are extremely dated and do not feel clean. The shower was stained brown and I had to wear flip flops in the shower. It was a very unpleasant stay. The person who checked us in was rude and really couldnt care less if we stayed or left.
The hotel advertises rates at $70 a night. When I booked my room for my sons graduation, I was given a rate of $100 a night. Yet, when I checked out the rate was $200 a night! The rates posted on the back of the door were $69 to $159 a night. The rooms were not worth anywhere near $150 a night.
Continental breakfast offering was subpar. There were two burnholes in the top sheet of the bed. The bathroom was clean, however looked shabby. There was a fake headboard attached to the wall, made room look cheap. Outside walkway of the hotel looked very shabby. cracked sidewalk construction markings. traffic cone near sidewalk. Whats with the picnic table near the dumpster? Do you think anybody would actually eat a meal there?
The Good: Air conditioning, internet and shower worked well and the price was rightThe not so good: Bedding was old and stained, the room was not as clean as most hotels.Bottom line is that for the price the room served its purpose but I dont think I will convince my wife to stay there again.
Econo Lodge in Binghamton, NY we stayed at for 5 nites, the price is great and the rooms was big enough, and i like they had a refrig and a microwave. and the 2 sinks. If you could update the bedspreads and replace the carpeting was a little dirty, i had towear slippers while there. my mom was with me and we felt safe staying there too. Thank you we would diffently stay there next year when we come.
This motel is definitely showing wear and age. It has been added onto so many times that it is awkward to try to get around inside the buildings. The hallway and entrance area carpets were not clean. The room smelled like some air freshener was used to try to mask other odors.
We stop here every year on our way to the NY Mountains. It is a perfect place for us to overnight with our pets for the night. There are restaurants and gas/diesel nearby and our rooms are always clean and comfortable. They offer multiple types of discounts and the pet fee is very reasonable.
I recently stayed at the Econolodge, and I found it to be a good value. I was not expecting anything super fancy, but it was better than I expected. It was a perfect place for me, as I only stayed there to sleep and shower. The breakfast was ok, could have had a few more choices.
This was the absolute worst hotel I’ve ever been to. We checked in and there was creepy guys checking in. Went to our room and those same creepy guys came in behind us and started banging on the door next to ours. We were so uneasy we decided to leave. When we walked out of our door they were smoking weed in the hallway. Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.
I was disappointed in this stay due to the fact that a supposed meeting room was across the hall from our room. The meeting started about 9-10pm and went on (off and on) til midnight. It may have been later, but I had earplugs and sleeping pills. The Front Desk said that the meeters were offered the dining room area, but they chose the bedroom area (which was clearly smaller.) Apparently this group has done this before. The next morning the manager was very conciliatory and said she had handled the problem.I honestly dont know why Im spending the time to write this, as I wouldnt stay in this motel again. Maybe it will help someone else.
Room was dirty rented jack and jill room. And they were gross told front desk was supposed to give me a comp for at least a night i called about the comp hoping it would be better the stay well no comp maybe next week i was told .. Then the following . week the fbi taided hotel. Dam shame.
For a one night cheap stay, it fit the bill. housekeeping needs to kick it up a notch, cobwebs from the ceiling should not be acceptable, housekeeping supervisor obviously not doing follow up. The cracks in the ceiling from possible water damage needs to be addressed. This of course is a budget hotel, but that does not mean it needs to be in a rundown state. that being said, it served its purpose for the nights stop, after riding a motorcycle for 7 hours anything is a good stop. Take the effort management to get this hotel in a better state and you will reap excellent reviews... the breakfast... try to stock what you need based on how many guest you have, you offer the breakfast at least make sure you have enough for all, not just the early risers.
The hotel room was a good value, clean room at a good price. The manager was very gracious and helpful. My reservation was mistakenly booked for the previous night. He was kind enough to overlook the mistake and use the funds for the next night, when i actually arrived. Thank you!!

2022-04-21Nice staff, stains on the green blanket and mattress. Choice of fabric and flooring is good for preventing bed bugs. Its mostly clean but the stains in the bathrooms and on the bed do not make it feel clean. Lobby and hallway smells like cigarette smoke. Fortunately our non smoking room smelled neutral.

2022-04-11Worst place Ive ever stayed. Was given a room as far back as possible. Very dark hallways, filthy carpet, and horrible oder. Room was was so dirty and smelly and in bad condition. Mattress must have been there for 20 years. Spreads had cigarette burns and dirty. Walls had things all over them. Fridge dirty. Paper thin walls. Very noisy neighbors all night long. We travel for work and expect a the least clean. NoT what we got here. STAY AWAY!

2021-07-11We went looking for a hotel late at night and the people at this hotel were more than accommodating. The room was a two bed room, and it was pretty sizable. It got super cold in the room + the sheets were comfy. The hotel does kind of smell of cigarettes, though.

2022-03-07Dirty! Thieves! I had several things come up missing out of my room I contacted the owner and he just shrugged me off and did nothing! The state police and sheriffs department are always there. The only reason I put 1 star is because I had to...its a dump

2021-08-26This place looks nice from the outside, and is cheap for a reason.. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! the rooms are filthy, bugs crawling around, facilities where broken, hairy sheets. Dark prison like hallways with no carpet. And the front desk will play dumb and not offer any sympathy. I booked and did not stay more than 5 min. They still tried charging my whole weeks stay.

2021-09-22I came for an extended stay and I cannot express how thankful I am that they are as friendly and courteous as they are. From the owner to the housekeeping staff. They are always ready, willing, and able to help whenever they can. Such a home-like atmosphere. I would recommend anyone to stay here when they get the chance

2021-08-20The room was spacious and comfortable. However I did not like the cigarettes like scent from the hallway. Breakfast was supposed to be served up to 9 am. When I arrived at 08:50 am, there was only coffee.
