Edge Hotel in New York
Edge Hotel in other cities:
Had a bill discrepancy and wanted to resolve it. They do not answer emails, thier social media is not current and front desk was very short with me. Finally got an answer a WEEK later ... from my bank, not the hotel. So, zero stars for customer service. The room itself was bright and clean. Absolutely no frills! Everything is designed and decorated for efficiency not beauty. Kinda reminded me of a Euro flat. Lots of Ikea-quality peices. The main entrance, lobby, and hallways are super drab. Depressing even. For the price of $279. per night, I expected more umph. Also, the $5.00 voucher to Mikes Bagels did not cover breakfast in NYC unless you just get a plain bagel and coffee. On the positive side, (1) It is smoke-free and (2) the floors are hardwood, so no smelly stained mildew carpeting like other hotels. (3) Its also a quiet area considering youre in the hood and right off Broadway.
Deceptive reservation site.We have stayed at the Edge several times, and it has been perfectly adequate for our visits to Washington Heights. When we got an email advertising a great rate for our next visit, we immediately reserved. Only after clicking “pay” did we get a notice that the reservation was non changeable and non refundable. When we called the next minute, we were sent to Expedia, who refused to change the reservation, and gave us a lecture on reading fine print. Calling the hotel directly didn’t help- they said reservations were outsourced. 5 years of goodwill- gone!
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!! Do NOT under any circumstances!!! Things are broken or breaking. The bathroom is smaller than a kitchen pantry & a full grown adult cant fit in the tub!!! They say its wheelchair accessible, but theres no room for the wheelchair in the room which is smaller & stankier than a motel room!!!
Love love love this hotel! Great size, SUPER clean! The staff is understanding, me & my husband checked in at around 4am for 1 night & since it was so late they let us stay an extra night no extra charge. We went here often before we got an apartment together, i recommend them 100%! Soap & shampoo is provided in their luxury bathrooms & a lot of food options near! Great view! I need a reason to go back lol
Stayed here for 2 nights while my father was getting surgery around the corner at Colombia Hospital. The front lobby is nothing special but offers chips and drinks for your late night cravings. The employees are super nice and super accommodating. The room is small but fit two full size beds, a dresser and a small desk that supports 4 outlets and a couple USB ports. The beds are super comfy and very clean, no dust anywhere in the room. The bathroom is yet again small but very well laid out. The shower looked like it was never used and the amenities were high quality. If you need a place to stay because a family member is getting surgery or you are here for a couple days just for fun, I would recommend for the price!Im giving 4 starts because me being 63 and almost 300 pounds, everything just seems a little tight and cramped.
I wanted to give this a much higher rating. We were very pleased on arrival but there was one fatal flaw. I am not a light sleeper however the people who said the walls are thin were not lying. Ive stayed in a lot of hotels, not in nyc so maybe this is a thing, but you could hear EVERYTHING in the rooms next to you. People talking at a normal volume, sounded like they were right outside an open window. Unfortunately our neighbors were having adult relations literally all night until 4:30am. This may have ruined our trip because we were just here for one night to go to the zoo today and dont want to feel like we got the worst night sleep of our lives. Also there wasnt a good way to control the rooms temperature. There ARE many positive things, they just dont outweigh the noise. If you generally sleep with ear plugs heres what we loved. CLEAN, amazing view, small if youre a really big person could be uncomfortable. But nice TV, you could open the window a few inches. Bathroom seems very updated. The front desk was nice service. Theres a little kurig and they leave two mini water bottles. Lots of outlets on both side of the bed. Little adjustable reading lights on each side of the bed. Love a hotel without carpet always feels cleaner. The bedding was a nice weight not too hot. There is a hair dryer and a mini ironing board. They do not offer valet parking but they do have a parking garage they seem to partner with it was two streets over, a quick walk back to the hotel.Breakfast is a voucher to a bagel place. I dont think I could stay here again unfortunately. It was. Wednesday night too, not like a weekend. 4/21/21.
The room had a beautiful view. Very restricted space. No microwave or refrigerator for the price which was disappointing . Beds are comfortable rooms are nice just very small. Other guests were sketchy. Someone was knocking at our door in the middle of the night. They clearly had the wrong room. Overall not too bad.
Great interfacing and relations, from the telephone etiquette, to the front office staff, to maintenance and janitorial services, customer service, friendly guess, pretty convenient to all desired shops and eatery. One flaw, but hey this NYC, parking rate at a 4, private parking pricey and not allowed to go to and fro, once in thats it at an average price of $30 to 40 bucks! One perk is two blocks from the 1 and A train to TIMES SQUARE, only 20 minute L train/ subway ride. Highly recommend this hotel it was clean and rooms real nice but small of course (NYC), because its in the middle of the city no real views, mainly just roof tops, but again this is NYC. Neighborhood folks were cordial and willing to help.I felt safe for my family, we definitely will book in the future. Thats all I got.
Had to sleep in a room with a leaky ceiling. I called and waited 24 hours for someone to fix it. By morning time the bathroom was unusable. Called to get my money back and just cancel the rest of my stay and they won’t help me with that. Paying FULL price for a bathroom shower that I can’t use is completely unexplainable. They reassured me that there isn’t a maintenance man in the building and rooms are fully booked.
Beautiful hotel...small, but very clean and comfortable room....very friendly and helpful staff!! The parking for this hotel is 5 short blocks away...actually not as inconvenient as it sounds. The hotel is in a bit of a rough neighborhood, but the hotel itself is very nice!!
I must say, the staff has done their absolute best to be accomidating and kind. The GM Nelia is a class act. She is definitely in the right field. She was always welcoming, helpful and offering a warm smile. I would recommend hotel based on amazing customer service, and ability. ( FYI I stayed here for about a month and though the hotel had technical difficulties for a few days, staff did their very best to make up for the things they had no control over)
Stayed at the edge hotel and I was disappointed with my room. The carpets were dirty and looked like they have not been shampooed or cleaned in years. I would recommend to management to vacuum and shampoo the carpets, especially with Covid. I gave a one star review because the price paid for this hotel should not result in showing up to a hotel room with dirty nasty carpets.
Tiniest hotel room ever! Super clean. Everything we needed.I needed a wheel chair accessible room. Well it was not but since it was small I got around. It was a last minute booking for an emergency situation so no complaints here.Very nice breakfast. And the lady helped me out since it was hard getting around. That was very sweet of her.Great location. Safe area we felt.I would go back.
Great little hotel in Upper Manhattan. Stayed only one night but impressed with their attention totail and little touches that made my short stay pleasant. Very close to Columbias School of Nursing. Small rooms but modern furnishings and very clean. Main thing that stood out to me was the customer service from all the front desk staff with a big shout out to Che for being so friendly & helpful - thanks!
Highly recommend this hotel. I stayed there for 3 nights recently. Arrived at 3 AM due to train delays. Had called ahead to stay Id be a late arrival but wondered if Id have to wait outside for the front door to be unlocked.. Even in the middle of the night there was a nice young man at the front desk who welcomed me, checked me in and answered my questions. The room was very comfy, clean, and made use of every available inch of space. Plus it was quiet. The bathroom was well arranged, super clean, and totally modernized. Several bottles of water in room at no extra charge, nice touch. No surprise, the rest of the hotel staff were just as accommodating and friendly. Including the chief building engineer. Nice lounge for a continental breakfast. Glad that I had booked several months early because the price was fair. Had I booked closer to my visit it would have been a lot more more per night. When I checked out, they allowed me to store my luggage for the day. I am not a frequent visitor to NYC so my stay at this hotel made me feel more relaxed in the big city.
Great place to stay, specially if visiting Columbia University, which is at walking distance from the hotel. Modern, clean rooms equipped with a Keurig coffee machine, iron and ironing board and safe. No fridge or microwave, but continental breakfast was complimentary. Staff was very helpful and friendly, specially Michael- thank you! It is very convenient to have the Subway station a few feet away from the hotel! We enjoyed staying here and will come back!
I loved this hotel! Room was immaculate, bed super comfortable, very quiet, so well designed that I did not mind its less than generous size at all. Toiletries and hair dryer good quality. Breakfast more than generous with so many choices. Staff wonderful! A pleasure!
We have stayed here several times since the hotel opened. It’s always clean and the staff is friendly. Rooms are small, but that’s to be expected in an NYC boutique hotel. Views from some of the top floor rooms are awesome. Our most recent visit was the same, except the breakfast was so disappointing. I’d give this review 4 stars if not for that. It used to be yummy pastries and bagels in addition to the usual yogurt, hard boiled eggs, juice, and coffee (good coffee). Today’s breakfast was the usual items but in place of the baked goods was a basket of bread. White bread and whole wheat. It had been taken out of its grocery store packaging and put in a basket. This is NYC...there is tons of yummy food right outside these doors and they provide bread? Why the change? For $200+ a night, it should be better than that. That’s my only complaint.
Three-year-old boutique hotel offering good rate, comfortable & attractive rooms, and very friendly & accommodating staff. Room had safe, iron & small board, hair dryer, larger flat-screen TV, etc. Very clean with excellent, free continental breakfast and nice exercise room. I will definitely return when visiting upper Manhattan. Subway is a block and a half away, a very short walk. Loved this hotel!! (Thank you Michael.)
While the rooms are a bit small, they are absolutely gorgeous. We arrived before our rooms were ready so they held our bags for us. When we came back, it did take nearly ten minutes to get our bags back. The continental breakfast provided in the morning is minimal but sufficient. Its nice that it is complimentary. The location is a bit out of the way from Times Square. We had to take a Lyft down there. It was about a twenty minute drive. The actual hotel itself was excellent, I deducted a star due to slow service and location.
The rooms were quite crowded, and the bathroom doors dont have locks (theyre push/pull doors, not the traditional knobbed kind). But it was quite the chic design, and had a great view of the city, especially for sunrise and sunset. They also provided complimentary water bottles and coffee/tea. A great experience; I loved the workout room downstairs. Super close to the Armory Track as well as some nice restaurants, for an affordable price.
We made the decision to stay at this hotel based on a deal we found online. Boy, it was not what we were expecting at all! Such a lovely place...Our room, though on the small side, was arranged efficiently, and had stunning accents. I absolutely adore the bathroom, and even took pictures of it to dream of a similar future renovation in my own home!Staff was beyond friendly, eager to assist, and just upbeat (even during our 2am check-in).Definitely recommended. Due to our short stay, we were not able to check out the lounge downstairs. Hopefully, we will return to Washington Heights in the near future and stay with Edge!
The hotel was small but very clean and nice. It had a great view of the city and was just a 5 minute walk to the Armory which was where I had a track meet. The staff was great. Parking by valet is the only option. The subway station is 1 block away as well. They had a pipe leak (probably from the cold) so the lowest level had fans going, but other than that it was fine. I would highly suggest.
As the only hotel near Columbia University Hospital, the convenience alone makes it a good choice. That being said the staff was really above and beyond the rest. They knew my name right away and helped me with everything I needed. The rooms are small (like everywhere in big cities) but are super neat, clean and the beds are great. Again, it is the front office and support staff that set it apart.
This hotel was great, loved my stay there. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our every need. It was in the perfect location with in walking distance to United Palace. Very close to transportation. Room was very clean and comfortable. Would stay again and already recommended it to many friends and family members. Awsome hotel, also surrounded by lots of restaurants, bars. Stayed on a Monday night to Tuesday and night life was really good with in walking distance. Thanks to the Edge staff!! Great job keep up the amazing work.
My family and I stayed at The Edge Hotel for one night after Christmas. I must say, this is a hidden gem in Washington Heights. The entire place is very modern and clean. The lobby is a bit small but has comfortable seating and snacks if you have to wait. The people who work there are all very friendly and accommodating. Our room consisted of two double beds that were very comfortable. The decor is very modern with clean lines. The Keurig and two complimentary bottles of water is a nice touch. The staff member wasted no time bringing us an extra comforter and sheets so one of us could sleep on the floor. The room reminded me of a room I stayed in at the Hilton in the Fashion district (minus the fridge). I loved the continental breakfast and my son took advantage of the gym. This place is definitely worth the money, which is actually very reasonable. The location is close to Columbia medical buildings as well as the subway. Given the opportunity, I will definitely be back. I highly recommend The Edge Hotel.
Excellent desk service ! We stayed over night 9/3-9/4 2017. The young man I think his name was Anthony at the desk was SO SO SO helpful ! He had our car Valeted right away and then showed us a map around the city !! The rooms are very cute small but have everything you nee ! Great views !!! The room was immaculately clean ! Would absolutely stay again :)
Hotel and rooms look nice and were (mostly) clean. Staff was friendly. Rooms either had great sound isolation or no one was staying next to me. The room had some issues: 1) HVAC system was not guest friendly at all; 2) it was so humid in my room that the entire room floor was covered in condensation, which was really gross; and 3) bathroom vent was incredibly loud and could not be shut off. I wont comment on the high price and tiny room, as that comes with the territory in NYC.
Me and my brother had a great stay here. Pretty nice hotel 🏨 located in the heart of Washington Heights area Both receptionists were very friendly, proffesional and accomodating. The rooms were small but neat and clean. The view form my 8th floor window of the city🌇 was spectacular💥👌🏾. Alot of things to do in the area. Malecon restaurant, new Foot Locker , store just opened up. Hotel is a little pricey😁but id stay again cause of location to subway and nearly attractions. Only thing I didnt care for was the $100 security fee in addition that was charged(its refunded but sheesh taxing is taxing💵). Overall hotel made my first visit to the area a very memorable and positive one.
This was our second great stay at the Edge Hotel. It is located in the Washington Heights of NYC near family. The rooms are cosy but have great views of the Washington Bridge and the city. The continental breakfast is generous with great variety for all. The neighborhood is comfortable and safe for NH visitors. Great visit.
Clean with a courteous staff, and a nice snack bar with kosher sandwiches, the Edge is a nice hotel to stay in if you have business in the area. But the rooms are quite small, though they do have the minimum necessities, so I was comfortable. The only problem, considering the location and the room size, the price is a bit on the high side -- even for New York.
Very good experience. Valet was a little odd: took a while to get our car and we needed to tell someone that we had arrived but it was an overall great experience. Rooms are an ok size for New York and it was close to the Armory. Overall, 4 star hotel. Would stay there again.
Very convenient to ny Presbyterian hospital. Clean room. The staff is friendly. Great location.Unfortunately, we stayed again on July 2nd. We were on the 11th floor. It was so noisy. Sounded like somebody was banging a pair of pliers on pipes all night long. We got no sleep. We think it was coming from the elevator shaft.Don’t stay on the 11th floor. And when we told the guy at the front desk, we got nowhere.Up until then, we had a great experience here....
Clean rooms in a good location if you need to be in Washington heights / Columbia medical center. Not a ton of space but good views of the city from your room. Decent fitness center and a conference room / lounge in the basement. Little pricey for what you get, but really one of the only decent options in the area
Terrible! It was my first time visiting New York and the customer service I received exceeded the stereotypical “Rude New Yorker” reputation. So much in fact we didn’t make it past the front desk and NEVER got our room. I was STILL charged and never got my money refunded.. NEVER again!
The hotel is very lovely and clean. We had one deal breaker issue with the bathroom. The entire rectangular bathroom floor is tile and relatively level, with 2 water drains. There is no shower enclosure with a door, no bathtub. A shower curtain is the only thing that separates the shower area from the rest of the bathroom. In addition, there is no permanent raised lip on the floor separating the shower area from the rest of the bathroom floor. During a shower, the drain under the shower head did not eliminate the water on the floor as efficiently as it should. The second drain is in front of the sink, which is right next to the shower curtain. After a shower, water collected on the floor in the shower area & spread across the floor in front of the sink. Half the bathroom floor had standing water after a shower. This caused the tiles to be VERY slippery and there were no rubber mats on the floor. I nearly slipped twice while gingerly walking in the bathroom. This is an extremely hazardous situation. Also, if one person is showering, another person cannot use the sink/mirror without standing in water. The door to the bathroom is directly across from the sink. After someone took a shower, it was impossible to enter the bathroom without stepping in water. This is completely unacceptable! This hotel was in a perfect location for our needs, but we will NOT return unless the Edge Hotel corrects this unacceptable bathroom design.
I usually stay at name brand hotels (Hiltons etc) when I work. Since no name brand hotels were around the hospital I stayed at the Edge. Ive stayed there almost a dozen times and all I have to say is that it is a great little boutique hotel for the price! Its clean and the the staff is helpful. The only negative is that I cant seem to figure out the thermostat... The room is always too warm for my liking. My fault since I never ask the staff. Couple of places nearby for lunches and dinners. Breakfast is provided by the hotel 7-10A.
I just took the BAR exam between the dates of February 26 & 27 2019. I gave the hotel a 1-star for the lack of insulated walls. I am in the process of trying to get an abatement of the price, but its likely going to be to an issue. The nights were cold and the radiators could be heard as the clanging and hammering sounds would echo throughout the night. It was impossible to get a good nights rest on such an important night. Other than that, place is clean and convenient, but the price is unfair, especially for me as a test-taker in the wintry month of February.
I have stayed here several times because I am a patient at Columbia and I have to go down for treatment every 2 to 3 months. The staff is excellent. Always kind and supportive. I was a little disappointed this time with the continental breakfast .. usually they have bagels and more selection. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. The views from the window are amazing. We stayed on the 11th floor. We park at the hospital because we can get 24 hr parking for 35. I don’t feel well when we leave so we take an Uber to the hospital and then go to parking garage after my appointments - super convenient. There was a mistake on charging my card when we paid cash (have to give credit card just in case any charges not paid for) They corrected it right away and by morning credit had gone thru and did not tie up my card as I had feared. I appreciate their patience since I was crabby - illness does that sometimes - you can’t always be as cordial because anything extra to deal with when you are sick is too much ... hard to explain. But they were great ! I love staying at this hotel. Even though a boutique (small compact rooms ) you have everything you need - during summer months the cost of rooms go up and makes it impossible forMe to afford (illness is expensive) ...But I have to say ... this hotel is great and I appreciate the cleanliness of the room , and the amazing staff. Thank you !
Nice hotel. Small, but clean and nice. Best hotek near Columbia Medical Center - 5 minute walk. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend laundry accross the street - the girls were fast and awesome! MINUS stars for my inconsiderate, loud, door-slamming neighbors in the room next door :(
I was very pleased with this Days Inn. Everything about this hotel was nice including its location. Lots of restaurant and shops around. I would definitely recommend it and return to it when in the area. Front Desk staff was very helpful and co-operative. Rooms are very clean. Overall hotel is very well maintained.
Edge is a newish boutique hotel and a great place to stay in the Washington Heights area. The room was small, but very well put together and extremely clean. In fact, this is the cleanest hotel Ive ever stayed at! The staff is very helpful and friendly. They provided some great recommendations on where to go and how to get around. I would recommend the Edge Hotel without reservation. Well, uh, youll need reservations, but you know what I mean :-)
Good location if you are visiting the Presbyterian hospital, Columbia U. Or Union Theological seminary. Subway station is about 500 feet from front door. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Good price for NYC. Several restaurants in the area and grocery stores. The rooms are small, but I dont spend much time in the room. Clean and well maintained. Fast elevators. Free continental breakfast including hard boiled eggs, pastries, and cereal. Keurig coffee maker in room, but no microwave. They can put a fridge in your room upon request. Bottled water stocked in room every day. Decent fitness room. Friendly staff. I definitely recommend for uptown accommodations in Manhattan.
Im a young professional who visited CUMC-NYP for a couple of weeks and I spent my stay at the Edge Hotel. I will divide this review into different points, from best to less pleasing aspects.1. The highlight is definitely the friendliness and kindness of the staff. Every single receptionist was ready to address issues with a big smile and sweet attitude. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home. Ms. Nelia Rodriguez, sales manager, was the most kind-hearted woman I met, and even tho she was busy beyond imaginable, she made sure I had everything I need. Since my stay was a long one, they made sure to bring a little fridge up to my room. I also saw them accommodating needs of patients visiting NYP. Special thanks to Nelia, Jacob, Micheal and Diana (you guys are amazing and made my stay perfect!)2. Very close to NYP-CUMC, a few mins walk!3. The little gym is quite nice. Super clean at all times!4.Youre guaranteed a nice view of NYC from your window! Now, less pleasing aspects:1. The room is small. Its a very very cozy basic room with a small desk and small closet. dont expect space.2. The breakfast is basic. Dont expect fancy food or a huge variety. Nothing special, nothing extra, just what you need.3. The price. I know this is NYC and space is expensive. But for the space of the room and space of entire hotel (very tiny) and the breakfast offered, it shouldnt be as expensive as that in my opinion.Thats a long review, but I wanted to get as much details as possible for future visitors
Rooms are small but clean and updated. Contain usual amenities including free WiFi, HDTV, safe, iron and coffee maker. Convenient to get to from Broadway/168th Street Subway stop. Short walk to Columbia University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital--very convenient for interviews. Staff is very accommodating and helpful with local recommendations for food. Space is available to store luggage during the day following check-out. Complimentary continental breakfast with pastries and coffee.
It may be small, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone. They have the most amazing staff. They are friendly helpful and will accommodate you in whatever way they can. Everything is in pristine condition and very clean. Thank you to all of you who helped us out during our stay!
The best view I have ever had in a New York hotel room. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, the neighborhood was quiet at night, and there are both chain and neighborhood restaurants nearby. Theres also subway stops near the hotel so getting to other parts of the city is easy. The hotel also offers a car service at rates that beat the taxis.
How did the hotel pass the requirements for being allowed to be listed as a 3-star hotel is beyond me. The walls are hollow, the heating system is outdated, evident thru the constant noise throughout the night. It is almost inconceivable for this place to be worth more than $80-$100 an evening. I had the generosity from family to get a new hotel at a further distance in order to ensure myself that I would have a restful sleep. If you havent heard complaints as I too am shocked by the lack of complaints, then it must simply be the stress of taking a BAR exam. The students I was with complained, but they had no choice but to deal with it. No one in their right mind would raise a complaint when the BAR exam is in session. I simply got up and left the premise because there is no time to address these things when the pressure is on.There are NO REVIEWS by a single bar student here and this is considered the go-to spot for test takers. I will admit that I am puzzled by it. As a fellow bar student in the hotel shared with me, I listened to a guy in the next room listen to a foreign film and Im pretty sure it was at a bare minimum in volume says it all.Why dont they complain is out of my reach, but DO NOT create the image that because there is only one BAR student complaining that no other BAR student agrees with. That is called generalization.P.S. BAR Takers, do not come here for the BAR exam, you wont get any sleep the night of. Horrendous experience for this particular occasion. It is shameful for them to charge 5-star hotel prices at ONLY two periods of the year, February & July, coincidentally during the bar exam. I was willing to bite that bullet because I wanted the walking distance luxury. Unfortunately, I had to forgo that, which in the end didnt turn out to be a big deal.
New York City is rich in culture...if you live here, you dont have to travel very far to get away. I spend many staycations right here in the City exploring the various neighborhoods for a taste of different cultures. This weekend I visited Washington Heights for a Latin experience. I stayed at The Edge Hotel and enjoyed the quaint, modernized hotel. It seemed to me to have once been a multifamily building that was converted into a hotel... it made the visit feel more authentic...for that night, I felt like a resident as I look out at all of the apartment buildings that surround the hotel. I appreciated the crisp clean white bedding and name brand toiletries. It was clean and comfortable and great place to crash for the night. Complimentary breakfast was an option but because I had so much fun at local bistro (Parrilla Latin Bistro) the night before, I slept in and missed out. I opted for some black Dominican coffee from a local coffee cart down the street in lieu of the Keurig coffee offered in the room. Dominican coffee is a must to complete your Latin experience in NYC...it is as delicious as it is strong. The Edge Hotel is a great local hotel to rest as you become more intimate with the Latin culture in NYC...and its easy to access right off of the A train.
This hotel is a very comfortable experience , the view is beautiful from the rooms. The staff is very kind the breakfast is great , the house keeping is excellent just everything you would want from a hotel. I love it here they make you feel so at home you dont want to leave id most certainly recommend the Edge be the hotel you pick !!!!!
This is one heck of a hotel. Very accommodating especially to my husband who is alone why have you been in the hospital for the past six and a half weeks they have catered to him at breakfast is wonderful that location is terrific rooms are very very very tiny but the people there are just the best
Cold rooms. The rooms have a weird motion sensor that pretty much turns off the heat of you are mot moving (as in sleeping). I woke up at 3am freezing, had to call reception and they got rod of that thing, couldnt sleep afterwards. When i pay to stay in a hotel, i expect to set the temperature at any level i like. Weird.
Very disorganized we drove 45 minutes because the MANAGER told us a room was available she then turned my man away at the door saying the system shut down when I called and asked her about it why she would have is drive 45 minutes and not give us a room she hung up on me

2022-02-09My husband had surgery at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital which is within walking distance of the hotel. We both are so happy that we stayed at the Edge Hotel. While my husband was in the hospital and also while we stayed at the Hotel during his recovery, the staff at the Edge Hotel were wonderful! They are all caring and meet your needs as best as they can. They are so helpful, I cant say enough about them. The room we were in was comfortable and clean. If you have a loved one that needs to be in Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and you need a place to stay, stay at the Edge Hotel. We were so grateful that we found this hotel. Staying here helped a very over whelming situation easier to go through. I am not a fast walker, and it took me less than 10 minutes to get to the hospital. There are many places in the area to get food, either within walking distance or by delivery. There is also a couple of pharmacys near by. The front desk staff, the cleaning staff and maintenance were all wonderful to us. The price is reasonable too! They also give you a $5 breakfast voucher for a near by Bagel shop. We highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay at the Edge hotel again.

2022-04-20Positive: Ultramodern style, clean new fixtures, comfy bed. Free wifi. Desk has USB charger slots built in. Wallmounted TV. Nice view from north-facing 7th floor room window. Pleasant helpful staff. Daily vouchers for breakfast at bagel shop a block away. Negative: Room was small but not out of line with comparable hotels. Only one desk and one chair for two people in queen-bed room.

2022-01-30Great hotel for working in that neighborhood. Clean and a nice bathroom. Had a small desk just big enough to work. Lots of restaurants nearby. Neighborhood is quiet and fairly safe at night. We were never propositioned or saw anyone bothered. The station for the A and the C was one short block. WiFi in room was fast. Never had a chance to try the deli coupon in the morning. The deli on the corner is 24hr and has a convenience store inside.

2022-05-20I stayed here while in town for my sisters college graduation. Dealing with delayed/cancelled flights and having to check in a day late and after normal check in time, Luis and his staff remained professional and kind. I stayed there alone and felt safe. The room had a great view and was clean and adorable. Everytime I stepped into the lobby I was met with a smile and a greeting from every single employee I encountered. Will definitely be staying here again!

2021-12-26The hotel had the almost perfect location for us. The room was small, but clean and temperature was comfortable. One thing I couldnt understand was why the closet was so high. The coat rack was almost 7 ft. Off the floor. We only interacted was the staff at the front desk, who were very friendly, because we didnt see anyone else. The price was very reasonable for a NYC hotel. I will put this hotel on my list for the next time I am in the City.

2022-02-23We were surprised that, based on the review, we found the beds to be unclean. The room looked good, albeit small. The staff at front desk were nice, but when we pulled down the sheets from the bed, we accidentally pulled down to the mattress...and it was disgusting. The only way to describe it was that a piece of hair from every person who ever slept in that bed was there. We checked out within the hour of checking in.

2022-04-12Finally hot water appeared on 4/5/22. Staff was courteous and very friendly. We received credit for missing hot water.Luis, at the front desk, was very polite, professional, and helpful.Well definitely stay at the Edge the next time we are in Manhattan.Mikes Bagels is the best place in Manhattan for bagels.

2022-02-05Was a great experience. Room was clean and people was so helpful and nice. I really appreciate the fact they let me do a early check in in a cold raining day. I highly recommend this place.

2022-06-28Very nice stay in the heart of Washington Heights. A bit sterile but comfortable and super clean. Super nice staff! No in dining options though there are a ton of fantastic restaurants within a 5 minute walk.
