Eisenhower Park in other cities:
One of the largest parks in the Long Island and New York City area. Formerly known as Salisbury Park, it was re-christened to its current name in honor of the former president in 1969.In line with the presidents push for the national highway system, this park has long, sweeping roads which reminds one of the quintessential American highways that criss-cross the country.Multiple golf courses are situated within the park, and on a sunny day plenty of golfers can be seen enjoying their sport. The park also honors the September 11 attacks victims and American veterans in two beautifully designed monuments.
Eisenhower Park has something for everyone from the young to Seniors. There are 3 golf courses, mini golf, a lake for sailing model boats, the 9/11 Monument dedicated to Long Islanders who lost their lives, an indoor swimming pool, plenty of walking paths and ample parking facilities. Dont miss this gem and sign up for a Nassau County Leisure Pass while your there.
Nice big park, clean a lot of things to choose from, biking walking, tennis, softball, baseball, basketball, four different play grounds depending on age group. Even has a pond for those who like miniature power or sail boating, miniature golf, and more. Tends be have a lot of loud music playing with a lot of people BBQing, if that doesnt bother you than your all good to go.
One of biggest and best parks on Nassau county Long Island. This bike is great for any sport activity. They also have a BBQ area, multiple play grounds, baseball fields, mini golf, just to name a few. They have an indoor pool as well that you can join if you are a nassau county resident.
I personally think this is the best park on Long Island. That may be because I live 3 minutes away lol. Seriously, Ive been to parks all over Long Island and I feel that Eisenhower Park is the most well-rounded park offering the best of variety then any other on the island.
If you’re coming from NYC and walk in it you’re going to think you’re all alone. This place is so big and so green and so fresh I wanted to lay down and take a nap. It has playgrounds, football areas, soccer, golf courses and more. Didn’t see anyone grilling but it wasn’t the warmest day this year either. Lots of patrols by law enforcement also. Nice place to lay in the sun. You could put thousands of people in this park and still have really good social distancing. #sankofatafari #kingofcoffeenyc #parks #newyork #nassau #nassaucounty
When is the dog park going to be properly completed and open?? They installed the fence but theres a bunch of areas the dogs can get thru and its the main road right there!!! Lets get it together, town worker people!!! We certainly pay enough HIGH TAXES!! Finish it properly already!!
I just discovered that there is a skate park inside of Eisenhower. Ive been going every morning to practice my roller skating. Its beautiful, smooth and the bathroom is clean and convenient right next to the skating enclosure. This is my new favorite place on early summer mornings.
Love the park. just wish more trees and bushes and during early spring baseball fields can be used for something.also, why arent the mini golf and betting cages open basically all year round?the bathrooms are actually clean and seem to be regularly stocked tp and soap.👍
In terms of trails in Long Island - I would say this is just about OK. I dont think I would want to repeat this one.For one - the relatively tree-less grounds allow a lot of traffic noise to come in. You wont feel you are in the nature, which is my main intention of going on short walking trails. The trails are entirely paved. The walkways were also fairly crowded. The lake and the birds around it were somewhat interesting, but that was the only high point I can think of.
Juneteenth Celebration Family-friendly atmosphere. Praise dancing., gospel instrumental. Spoken words. Historic background., quick pod cast demonstrated for food for dudes on instragram. Several tables of African clothing., jewelry., candles., waistbead., designated kids corner filled with bouncing., basketball., everything a childrens love. They had it. Yes including popcorn and cotton candy. Various food trucks.
This location combines relaxation with a museum-like experience. Can go for a boxed lunch, picnic, plus see their veterans memorial in addition to numerous special events. Once in the park the hustle & bustle disappears and you are surrounded by nature, it was a beautiful experience!
I have been playing Cricket in Eisenhower Park during summertime under NYTBCL and both grounds and pitches are amazing. I have been playing at EH1 and EH2. Restrooms are near the both cricket grounds. Grass on the ground is well manicured. Overall fantastic experience at the Eisenhower Park.
The most beautiful park. Plenty to do, from ice skating, trapeze, exercise trails, swimming, batting cages, mini golf, driving range, 18 hole golf course, skating/skateboard ring, handball, tennis, basketball, soccer fields, baseball fields, bocce, shuffle board, sprinkler ring, plenty of play places, and so much more! Keep up to date on their site for free festivals, movies on the lawn by the lake, and concerts.
Staying close to this park and everytime I drive by I love the beautiful view of trees and untouched snow. Wide open areas of grass, great for tossing a ball with the kids or walking on the cement paths. Path a bit muddy from the snow melting so boots were perfect. There are different field areas where you can golf, picnic or take the kids to play on swing sets with one huge play area and basketball in the first field area ( park and walk to find ). Baseball fields in certain fields, Pinic tables are great when weather is nice and barbeque grills located in different areas are a plus. Pack lunch and water because when weather is nice this park would be a wonderful day out. Indoor pool area located on the side entrance by Merrick Road. They have bathrooms throughout park. Looks like peak summer season there may be a charge to enter if your not from Nassau County. 9/11 memorial and military memorial for all branches located by the back pond area. Respect! 🇺🇲 They have summer concerts as advertised as you enter. Miniature golf opens in summer months for a fee. Relaxing park with beautiful trees and open spaces on a busy part of the Island. There are three entrances but one is mostly to get to the pool area. Living close to this park must be nice. 💚
Eisenhower Park not just playgrounds is one of most popular tennis, golf ,relaxation , players , BBQ destinations is Long Island. Enjoy a match, private and group lessons, and youth programs, including summer camp . WiFi and bathroom’s and many of the nice things available. Always busy and popular.
Very good, several sections with many, many play grounds, you will never feels overwhelmed by a crowd the park is bigger than any other in the area. Picnic areas, permitted loudspeakers, youll never run out of space, this place features a bicycling path, also useful if yo are a running person. Tons of fast food nearby, diners and restaurants as well as supermarkets. Hospitals a block away.
This park is huge, it has multiples parking lot. It also has a very big golf course and a mini one for kids. A lot of sport areas for football, soccer, tennis courts, softball, basketball courts, a lot of playgrounds, an aquatic center, batting cage, there is a 911 memorial walk around the pond, which I found very cute. Fitness trail, sprinkler park open on hot weather for little kids, sled hill, different picnic areas, great to throw your party or bbqs. it also has a theater where you can watch movies or concerts during summer. Is a very nice place to walk around, bike ride, roller skating. It has to much to offer for any age. As a mommy, always look for good places for my son, this one is great.
Its a fantastic park, for example: It has a full 18 hole golf course, 400yd.driving range, on 1 side of the park. Also on the other side of the park, veterans memoral, Jr. Fire fighter/fire fighter memorals 911 memoral, mini golf, indoor pool & ice rink, out door running track near rest rooms, vending machines, play grounds, B.B.Q. stands, ball fields. Great place to run & ride a bicycle on the other side of the park. Its also a nice drive through the park as you enjoy the views. Pull off and take a look there is a lot to see.
Large park with tons of activities from golf to basketball and everything in between. It is conveniently located right in the heart of Nassau County near the mall and many restaurants so it is the perfect place to spend a nice afternoon in. There is also a small pond with a walkway around it.
The ladies on the golf carts have been dumping bleach into the toilets instead of actually using it to disinfect the bathrooms. It’s been 2 months since the beginning of winter, now it’s getting warm, they are still dumping it, floor has not been disinfected for 2 months.
I feel this review is way past due. This place is so close, and close to my heart. There are soo many fun and exciting events that take place here at Eisenhower Park. When the weather is perfect it is great to take a jog, or even just a walk through the entire Park. In the summer you can get a group together and go picnic. They also have the classic car shows, as well as fireworks for the fourth of July. The park also pays homage to the world War veterans, and everyone evolved with 9/11. The park is beautiful. Also around the pond, and the rose garden area. The other thing that brings me to Eisenhower, aside from being a stones throw away, is all of the historical landmarks I have mentioned. Which leads me to mention an augmented reality game I play called Ingress. Just Google it and you will get the information on the game. Needless to say I will be back to this beautiful Park. On some mornings it is so beautiful as the sun begins to rise, burning through the morning fog. It is definitely a must see!
I have a chocolate lab mix that I take to the dog park here whenever I can! They have two different areas for the big and small dogs with toys and a water station available. There are also baseball fields and endless activities in this park that even as a local I haven’t fully explored! 🚲 🐶 ⚾️
Great open space for kids of all ages. My son loves exploring all the different areas. There are toilets on site, which is a plus and often an ice cream truck, although this can be a curse as well as a blessing. There are plenty of areas outside the playground for picnics and barbecues.
This park has space for everything. There are numerous playgrounds. It has soccer fields, baseball fields, basketball courts, batting cages, and even a golf course. There is also a swimming pool. One of our favorite thing to do is to take a walk around the pond and feeding the ducks and ignoring the signs lol. They also have free outdoor movies and concerts throughout summer.
Awesome space. Picnic, run, bike, play, golf, bring a dog to the dog run.... Parking can be confusing but not really if you just go with the flow. Excellent 6 mile loop if you want to run or bike.Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is easy and offers music and cultural events.
A beautiful park and grounds area. Lots of different fields to play on, walk about and just to enjoy the outdoors. There was even a small food festival happening on field 7 or 8 when I first drove through. I was looking for field 1 which is directly on Merrick and Hempstead Turnpike. That section had the largest parking lot, close to the public restrooms and steps from a Health and Aquatic Center from the looks of the signage. The outdoor picnic tables are covered and nearby grilling stations make it a prime spot for large gatherings. Well maintained facilities and detailed maps should you need them available at the park office.

2021-08-21First time Ive visited this local gem. Was visiting my brother, who lives about 2 miles away from the park. Walked through the park daily - everyday finding something new. Eisenhower Park offers, baseball fields, kids playgrounds, ice skating rinks (indoor and outdoor), gazebos, grills with picnic tables, golf course, monitor golf course, war memorial and a very thought out 9-11 Memorial. I was surprised and grateful to have found this Memorial. The residents of Nassau County went above and beyond in the planning and construction of this Memorial.... world class! The park also has a ton of walking paths and plenty of parking. I wish I had a park like this close to my house in Virginia. Enjoy 😉

2022-06-21Its a big park in the vicinity of Hofstra, Westbury, and Levittown. The park as a whole is mostly golf courses, which is a shame. However, there is a sizeable area of the park devoted to family-friendly outdoor activities. I saw a huge number of families with kids, families with no kids, families with geriatric patients, geriatric patients with nurses, and more, all enjoying the summer sun. Picnic tables and BBQ grills are scattered throughout the greenery and seemed to be popular. There are several playgrounds, a roller skating area, baseball pitches, and plenty of open fields to run around. There is also a fitness trail which makes a ~1 mile loop around the area, which is comfortable for running, biking, and roller blading.

2022-04-11A true gem of Long Island, when you enter the park; you immediately escape from stress and noise of suburban life. You can play any sport, swim in an Olympic sized pool, watch the ducks swim or play a round of golf. The picnic areas are always buzzing with family reunions and wedding receptions for couples who opt for a free venue with views that rival the most exclusive spots in the area.

It was a real treat since they have a fantastic Veterans Memorial and Walls of Honor that commemorate the contributions of our great nations veterans in various branches of service. In addition, there is a wonderful 9/11 Memorial to visit and fantastic lake to walk around.Overall a beautiful park. We will definitely go back soon!

2022-04-03Large (it’s larger than Central Park) and open park. Great place for out door activities. Baseball, softball, biking, roller skating, barbecue or walking— paved flat roads. There’s a mini town for educational programs, trapeze lines. There’s also ice skating and swimming. Of course, golfing. The comfort station at Memorial Plaza was clean and for one person only.

2021-04-06Really a beautiful park. It’s not as packed as other parks with plenty of things to do for children of all ages. The park looks pretty big as there is a golf course but I stayed in the playground area and didn’t venture outside of the playground. The only thing I dislike is the two entrances/exits on the playground. I generally like one entrance so I can guard it if anyone decides to snatch my children up. I can’t guard two entrances. The best thing is it’s free. It looks like a state park that requires an entrance fee but it isn’t. I cannot vouch for other parts of the park though. If you’re around the area looking to explore other playgrounds your children can go to instead of the ones around the neighborhood, I would recommend visiting this one.
