El Azteca Restaurant in other cities:
Food was good but I ordered chicken fajitas. 2 massive plates of food and they give you 2 very small shells to make your meal with. Was my first time there. If that is the normal 2 small shells thats poor thinking and planning. Service was just ok. I ate maybe 1/3 of the food due to lack of shells very sad
Driving from out west and this was the best restaurant we encountered enroute to NYS! Good family run place with food that was fast and was exactly what I expected. Generous portions and nice peeps. My only complaint is that I found the bottom of my plate too soon! Worth detouring off the Thruway. We will make a point of stopping there again, might just go there intentionally!
I love this place so much. Its authentic Mexican food. The prices are good and the service is always excellent. I have never had something I didnt like here. And the orders are always hot and tasty. Something as simple as chicken in the quesadilla, they elevate to a whole new level. Eat here. You wont regret it. My only word of caution is that the complimentary salsa has a little heat to it if youre sensitive to spice. A side of queso or sour cream can fix it right up!
Truly authentic handmade spanish food. The only down side to the experience here was the wait time and slightly lackluster service. With that said, it is very plainly stated on the menu that good food takes time! So if you dont mind waiting a few extra minutes for food, it is completely worth the wait here.
I am not sure how they they got the stars they got. The service wasnt very good. The food lacked any flavor. The tamale that I got tasted like it was unfroze in a microwave and almost ready to be rancid. I truly feel sorry for anyone in Dunkirk who thinks this is good Mexican food.
I ordered nachos from here and paid roughly $12 for the absolute most disrespectful takeout food Ive ever received from a business. There was nothing but broken, stale chips. There was probably a teaspoon of ground beef, and the shredded cheese was maybe a small pinch, a tablespoon at most. The dipping cheese was cold, like it had sat out at room temperature for hours. You lost a customer for life. When I called the restaurant, your employee hung up the phone after I explained that the food was not okay.
Went out to eat for Cinco De Mayo one of the worst dining out experiences of my life! The host skipped over people when it was addressed (she forget) waitress was rude not friendly could of cared less. Never asked for the type of meat or sauce In the top five of the worst eating out experiences going back 50 plus years. The other staff was not very friendly acted as if doing in a lot on work on a busy nite was putting them out. Not going back
We eat here a lot and really enjoy the selection. Dont let the outside fool you, theres plenty of space, and its very nice inside. The people who work there are always very nice, and attentive. Ive never had to wait too long for food. They keep the chips and salsa coming, and never rush us out if we want to talk after a meal.
Food was good, service was great, don’t expect to go there and eat traditional tacos that is not the spot. My biggest issue was that due to COVID-19 restaurant’s should be more sanitary I saw the people across from me leave and the waitress only wiped down the table with a rag and no gloves, and pretty much everyone that sits there throughout the day is using the same salt and pepper, hot sauce, and ketchup. So for that I give them 3 stars.
My family stopped here for lunch in June during the mid-afternoon lull. We were the only people in there, which was good, because my two young kids were rambunctious after being in the car for a few hours. The server was pleasant and the food came fairly quickly, but I was not terribly impressed with the quality or taste. I wouldnt go so far as to say it was bad, but it was rather bland compared to other, similar restaurants. I do wonder if this was due to the time of day that we went.
I love it. Nutritious and Delicious. Always super friendly staff.Nice music. Free Welcome -In appetizer - just Nachos served with spicy sauce is a great start. One of the best restaurant in Dunkirk. You may eat there for $10 ---- comparing to fastfood where you have to pay $7-9 just for burger and French fries ... Go there, relax, enjoy a Mexican music and delicious healthy meal.
Decided to try it because of so many people telling my father that is was good food. We arrived and stood there waiting to be seated for a few minutes. The workers just kept passing us and staring at us while we were waiting, which was very uninviting. We finally got seated, and a waitress brought over chips and salsa. The salsa was very watery and had no taste whatsoever. Then a waiter came over to take our order. A third worker brought out our food and told us the plates were hot. The thing is... our plates were very hot but the food wasnt. We both ordered 2 burritos with rice and beans. All of the food was flavorless! We were thinking that because it was a Mexican restaurant it would have flavor. Everything was terrible for our first visit there. We also did not have an actual waiter/waitress that checked to see how everything was. I would give this place 0 stars if it let me.
The food was tasty delicious! I love it when I ask for tomatillo salsa, I get the authentic version, yay! The other sauces were delicious too. My Carne Asada tacos hit the spot, and hubbys Chicken Quesadilla Fajita was very good! Margaritas were on point! Verv pleased we came for a delightful meal! Miriam was a sweatheart!
I love this place so much! My partner and I go every other weekend and I bring all of my friends here when they ask me to go out! The food is amazing the prices are really good especially for a college student and the staff are always so kind and helpful and they remember you when you go back. Beautiful interior too with great music! Really a absolutly wonderful restaurant.
My wife and I came. I wanted something with steak. But, they only had two items with steak. Their enchiladas tasted good, but they were pretty dry. To add sauce or most other things all costed extra money. The server didnt know the answer to most questions about prices for extra things. She kept going back to the register to check on the price.
This is the first authentic Mexican restaurant that Ive ordered from that didnt serve the traditional soft shell taco. Meat was dry and the shell was no different than Taco Bell. They didnt offer salsa or pico de gallo. My husband had the smallest taco salad hes ever seen. Rice was ok. Wont eat there again.
The WORST!!! Me and my boys stopped into Azteca for what we hoped would be a scrumptious bite to eat. Instead we were served a steaming pile of over priced poo. No water, even after asking for it twice. Ordered cheese dip and it also never came, but they were sure to charge us for it. Apparently they must of been rationing the chips and salsa that nite, because the portions were so skimpy that that even Mary-Kate Olsen would of been asking for seconds. Now I know some of you are going to say, “well they were probably just super busy.” Well I can confirm they were not! In fact we were the only people in the place! Most of the food came out cold, expect the one guys who’s looked like they cooked it with a ray gun from movie Mars Attacks. The salsa was so runny that I looked like red KoolAid. Margarita had little or no alcohol. The staff only checked on our table 3 times during the whole visit, the rest of the time they played on their phones. To top it all off was that the back of the restaurant smelled like their crapper had backed up. All this on a Thursday at 8:30, totally unacceptable. On a positive note the bottled beer was cold.
The food is okay, but the drinks? They charge $3 for a soft drink! RIDICULOUS! Even with unlimited refills they are gouging way more on drinks than any other restaurant I have ever been to, and we all know it costs them a fraction of a dollar to serve a soft drink even after a few refills!
My fish tacos tasted really, really fishy and not fresh at all. Do not expect unique toppings they just give you rice tomato and lettuce. my sister said they really skimped on the chicken in her chimichanga and it was pretty flavorless. the service was okay. We asked for napkins several times before we got them and nobody came to clear our table until we were completely done eating which is one of our pet peeves. overall, I think we would have gone to the other Mexican place nearby however they didnt have enough seating for us. We wont be back here again.
Though its a bit on the expensive side Im never disappointed with anything I order. The menu is extensive and theres plenty to choose from. During my last visit however, the waitress got a bit snarky when we pointed out a mistake she had made. (We were supposed to get rice and beans with our meal but we didnt get them).
It is though they were running in slow motion. They were not busy but had to wait to be seated, had longer wait before server came to table. We would ask for something, order, etc and there was a long wait before we would receive. Two of us ordered the Carne asada and both of us got grissle, and just a poor dinner. This is a shame as I have been to this restaurant twice and they were off their game.
Chicken fajitas. How can you make grilled chicken, green peppers & onions unappealing. El Azteca found a way. Overcooked vegetables. Spices do not compliment either the chicken or the veggies. Their Spanish aka Saffron rice was not moist or fluffy. Their flour tortilla remind me of those you get when ordering Moo Shu at a Chinese restaurant... thin & pasty! Maybe their eat-in is better than their take-out? Who can I call to get my money back?
Went there last night with my boyfriend and almost 2 yr old daughter. I got the chicken fajita quesadilla, and my BF got the beef one with a side of beef tacos. My daughter got the cheese quesadilla and French fries. Everything was amazing!!!!! Not to mention the wait staff was very nice and was checking on us all the time. We are actually debating on driving an hour and a half to go back tonight!
Im honestly disappointed. The decoration was lively,I they had good tejano music playing. I dont know if its because I came in an hour before close, but the food was bland, the margs were extremely watery, and I could see through the salsa. The refried beans were obviously from a can and the managed to remove the flavor from the onions and peppers from my burrito. And the chile rellenos... Ill just leave it that those werent chile rellenos. I give it 2 stars because the prices were what I expected for a Mexican-style restaurant. Go somewhere else if you need a Mexican fix.
Todo una mierda! comida cara x sólo pimiento y cebolla! 10.99 sólo x esa porquería! vaya ala m !/ very shitty service, expensive food for only peppers and onions! I ordered lobster fajitas and it was only peppers n onions and crawfish not lobster! 10.99 for that? this place six! dont go here! its not authentic any way! its sysco Mexican! totally commercial!

2022-07-05Friendly staff. Fast service. Fresh food. Even have Hispanic people on staff. They do have a small bar. Skip Taco Bell or Mighty Taco - this is the place to go!

2019-12-29I was here last night with the family for a quick dinner. We were seated quickly and waitress took our order shortly after. The margarita was pretty good and not water down. The salsa was a bit water down and too runny for my taste. Fortunately the food were good with flavor just right. I would say the price was quite reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food.

2022-04-12We came upon this little authentic Mexican restaurant in Dunkirk and were pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and quick. The food was not quick but timely. It is obvious that they are using traditional recipes and they arent rushing the food out before its ready. The usual complimentary salsa and chips were brought to the table. We shared an appetizer of Mexican Spring rolls accompanied by with a chipotle sauce. For my meal, I had the Camarones a la Diabla, which is shrimp in a spicy sauce, with Spanish rice and a small salad of avocado and pico de gallo on a bed of lettuce. The sauce is delicious, the shrimp cooked just right, the rice was not overly spiced, and it was just right, not too hard, not too soft. The salad was simple and complemented the the rest of the plate.I had the opportunity to get a taste of my two co-diners dishes. The first was a combination enchilada dish with one bean, one cheese, one chicken, and one beef enchilada. I tasted the bean enchilada and the sauce was great. I cant speak to the other enchiladas but my co-diner enjoyed them. Our other co-diner had Tacos de carne Asada. I enjoyed a whole taco.If you want to have traditional Mexican, El Azteca Restaurant is for real!

2022-01-25We had the worst service experience ever! Our waitress was rude, had an entitled attitude and didn’t care about her job or taking care of customers. On top of that she delivered our meals 20 min apart because she was mad at us for not being ready when she came to the table.
