We ordered take out (and picked it up ourselves at the restaurant) and for two adults meals and one kids meal our bill was $51 - which seems super expensive to me. My taco salad was not much of a salad at all - I was glad to be eating it at home so I could add more lettuce (it was very soupy and small). My husband thought his meal was ok. Chips were good. I dont think we would order from their again.
This is becoming one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. The food is delicious, the wait staff are friendly and efficient. They have indoor dining, and a small section for outdoor dining. They play what seems to be modern Mexican music, whereas all the other Mexican restaurants around seem to play older music. They had two plastic skeletons set up at a table wearing masks and Mexican garb, which amused the kids.
Visited this place with 3 of my dorm roommates and friends for lunch, shortly before summer break. The restaurant has a small, humble store-like location, a single small space albeit slightly congested, but features a Mexican cultural design, setting and quite diverse environment of people from friend groups, to families and tourists having a enjoyable, cultural, cozy, and comfortable lunch time.Food is very great and yummy, especially the Americano-Mexican dishes like quesadillas, burritos, tacos etc. and iced drinks like jarritos, lemonade etc. we ordered. The waiters were very friendly and hospitable, and a table with couch sitting allowed us 4 to have quite a nice time amidst chatting and enjoying the Mexican cultural wall designs beside the table, and sunny road view. The restaurant space could be made larger and less congested by moving to a new location with rooms or land area to support a bigger space or floors, but otherwise, it was a good experience in overall.
Been here a handful of thymes and everything Ive tried is muy bueno. Ive had the tacos locos, enchiladas supreme, chimichangas, beef nachos, the guacamole dip n chips, and the quesadillas. Its a quaint little place with a back patio for nice days and the wait for your food is never long. Check em out and find out for yourself. P.S. my girlfriend loves the margaritas!
Nice and clean but food is pretty bland, not authentic, as if they Americanize it..I went on 3 separate occasions and always order carnitas..this time it was shredded, like pulled pork..dissatisfied since carnitas are supposed to be chunks, otherwise should say on menu shredded pork, not Carnitas.
(Please like and follow if you think this review helps you find the real texmex restaurants in Buffalo!)I went to this place because I heard that it is really similar to authentic mexican food. The workers there were really friendly and professional. Whenever I asked about the menus, she kindly explained it to me everything! They said the famous menus were enchilada and burrito villas. So I ordered burrito villas and it was a right choice! It was sooo delicious as well as the homemade(?I think) hot sauce. Also, we ordered burrito Mexicano, too. The food was amazing! She told us that the foods are actually the tex-mex style, not the authentic cuisine. But!!! It was really delicious. Some restaurants, foods are salty and oily so that I cannot bite more than 4 times, which were not in this restaurants! If you find the texmex restaurants in Buffalo, this is the place.
I wear hearing aids and I had to take them out because it was so loud! The restaurant was not crowded so that was not the problem, I think it had something to do with the acoustics. The food itself was okay but not the same standards we get at the original El Ranchito.
Just okay. Service was nice, place is loud like a cafeteria (no music), but clean. It was my first time, but it will be my last. The ingredients tasted cheap. I know that may sound weird. Im just saying the richness in authenticity just wasnt there. Then again, I grew up in SoCal.
We absolutely love the El Ranchito in Clarence so we decided to try this location and see how it was. We were not disappointed but felt that it’s not as good as the Clarence location as far as the food goes. The atmosphere is similarly as good as Clarence and so are the drinks. To be fair this location has not been open very long so they may just be getting into their groove. I would definitely give it a try for sure even though the food is a little different it’s still great.
I love this place. Its a bit smaller than some of the Mexican Restaurants, but not too small. I normally get their tacos or rice bowls. Either way the food is great, the service is fast, and the employees are friendly. This place lives up to the Ranchito name. Before I forget, the table chips are perfect. Theyre flavorful and crispy. The salsa is a little spicy as in flavor spicy and not just hot. The salsa is a little heavy on the garlic which I dont mind because it balances well with my Modelo.
Ok lets start off with how friendly everyone was and how welcoming me and my family felt. We were then sat almost immediately and the chips and salsa was brought out. Once the drinks were delivered and order taken, it took no time for the food to come out. As we enjoyed our food the gentleman checked in on us at respectful intervals. The food was just amazing! Flavorful, filling and the serving sizes were enough for a meal with no room for desert. My only regret is that I do not remember the gentlemans name but I will definitely be back so that will be rectified. If you are thinking of going out for Mexican, then you will not go wrong going to this place!
Our expectations were high because we have had good experiences at their other restaurants. And indeed, we were very happy with our dishes, with the staff, with the way that they redecorated. Everything about the experience was positive. (My wife noticed that they built vertical extensions between the booths, probably for hygiene reasons, but the effect was that our booth felt nicely private and dedicated to just us.)
I never leave reviews and I definitely feel like this deserves one. Best Mexican food I have had in a very long time. We got two meals for us and one meal for my mom which we were dropping off to her. I asked him if he would bag separately and give separate chips and salsa and he say yes. Very pleased. Belly full and family happy. Will be going back 100%.
We were surprised and VERY happy, over the summer, as we were driving up the Boulevard and noticed a sign for El Ranchito! We had eaten at the other El Ranchito locations, but it was a bit of a drive to either, so we didnt make it out there regularly (despite very much enjoying every visit). Since its so much closer, this place has become our new go-to for Mexican. The food is consistently delicious and the portions are generous. It seems to be a little bit more expensive than other comparable Mexican restaurants in the area, but its totally worth it. So far, weve only ordered for take-out, during the pandemic. But it appears very nice, inside, and the staff seems quite nice and helpful, so I look forward to dining in, once the pandemic is over. (Though, during the summer, we enjoyed ordering takeout from here, and bringing it over to Ellicott Creek Park to have a picnic. That was actually pretty nice, so we may continue that tradition, even when the pandemic is over and the weather gets nice again.)
The restaurant was clean, the people were friendly, the strawberry margarita was very tasty. I ordered the fajitas with chicken steak chorizo sausage and shrimp. The entire dinner was overdone, there was no texture left to the bell peppers and onions and the chicken and steak were cut up in very small pieces and also well over done. Perhaps they have other menu items that would have met with my approval however all four of the people in my party ordered the fajitas and I am basing this review on the fajitas only. Today I revisited this restaurant and I need to update my review, I got the El burrito ranchero and it was fantastic again the strawberry margaritas were amazing but the food this time was far superior to my first visit maybe its just the fajitas I dont know but the meal I had today was outstanding and the four other people in my party all thought their meal was very tasty and very enjoyable
The food was fantastic, service was great, very clean with beautiful decor. Would rate 5 stars but they only gave a military discount for one meal on the bill.. this is highly uncommon for restaurants. Infact I dont even remember the last time I ran into this. Seams a bit petty, but on a $105.00 meal I was able to save $1.50 does that seem right to you?
The best thing ever to happen to our local Mexican restaurant scene!Food and service was absolutely terrific!Restaurant is cozy, warm, and clean!Location is a bit unassuming and tough to recognize as we didnt really notice it even existed until a few weeks ago.Have even mentioned how fantastic it was to a few friends right in the neighborhood who say they had no idea it was even there. So better signage near the roadway maybe would be helpful..In the end 5 stars is not enough as this place deserves far more than that!!Absolutely recommend El Ranchito!Hands down the best addition to the Amherst/Tonawanda restaurant scene in the last 5 years.Total hidden gem!!20 STARS!!!
Good restaurant. I thought the food was good, spice had some good kick. Today we got ceviche starter. I got chicken tacos and house margaritas. It was really good overall. I added some hot salsa to my share of the ceviche to add spice with the fresh flavors it brings. The tacos came with delicious and spicy salsa themselves.Maybe the best thing for me is that the chips are done in their own fryer so as a gluten allergy haver I was able to snack on the fresh table chips too! Im looking forward to going back and trying some fajitas.
Decent but I would definitely recommend and prefer the one in Williamsville on Evans St... this one still doesnt have their liquor license either. All their beer signs are lit but they dont currently serve alcohol. Good false advertising...wouldnt be a big deal but took my dad out for his birthday, and of course we wanted drinks.. The food in Williamsville is much better as well. Not sure how a restaurant can have the same menu then when you order the same thing it comes out completely different.
Ypu get a LOT of food for your dollar. We got two meals, and I wasnt expecting nearly three containers just for myself! Great Mexican food. Only complaint is I wish it could be spicier, but thats just a personal preference. Overall ill definitely get them again for takeout.
Ill start this with full disclosure...I grew up and return regularly to New Mexico. New Mexican cuisine with its green/red chile far exceeds anything offered outside its state lines. With that being said, I am comparing El Ranchito to similar restaurants both in WNY and elsewhere. The dishes we had here were run-of-the-mill. There were no menu items or seasonings that were any different than you would find at any other Mexican restaurants. My kids enjoyed the chorizo queso but nothing else stood out. The refried beans looked like they came straight from the can and were watered down to a smoother consistency. The verde sauce was routine tomatillo sauce. Please understand, while the food wasnt bad, it was any better than average. My son described it best: I wouldnt drive enable to eat here again but if I was passing by, I might stop back.
I was so happy that this place was opening near me. Couldnt wait to try. Have been there twice in the last 2 weeks. My goodness!! The food is SUPER fresh and EXTREMELY tasty! Not one complaint! The service was excellent both times. They are still waiting on liquor license, cant wait to try a Margarita!! Nice place, great food, wonderful service! Go treat yourself!
We tried this last night for some simple taco takeout and they were sooooo good. There was a mistake with my taco shells but they made it right right away. The fokd was delicious and hot and the people were warm and inviting. I cant wait to come for a dine in experience when everything calms down a bit. Definitely recommend stopping in!
Always willing to support local businesses. El Ranchito 3 got the seal of approval. The portions are delicious and generous. Side of tortilla chips and salsa came with (pick-up) order. Bonus! Kept eating well after I was full.Restaurant has to close (for dine-in) due to up-rise in COVID numbers. Will remain open for pick-up. I plan on ordering again. :)
Went the first week of opening. The restaurant was very nice and clean inside. Food was phenomenal as their other locations. Cannot ever beat the free chips and their salsa. Have to always splurge a little and get the Queso as well. I will be back! This is the picture of their Fajita with Shrimp, Beef and Chorizo. My waiter recommended it to me saying it was the most popular one. It was incredible.

2022-02-10My family & I dine here frequently. So much so that when we do takeout they know our voices. The food is EXCELLENT dining in or doing takeout. Generous portions. I feel they have the best refried beans ever! There are different locations but we like the one on N.F. Blvd the best. And luckily for us it’s about a 5 minute drive for us. We were just there 2 nights ago. I could go for some more now!

2022-07-19Have dined here twice now, once a couple months ago and once last night for Cinco De Mayo. Overall impression, fairly good Mexican food 10% more expensive than I would expect. While not rave to your friends good, this was a quality meal both times with friendly service. The margaritas were tasty, however at over $15.00 per for the large size, I was disappointed. At other area restaurants Ive gotten a similar size for half, to a third of the price point.

2022-03-25Every part of the food was completely dry, I ordered the 3 enchiladas. Sauce was sub-par. All meat was extremely dry. Gave no sauce. Was looking forward to dessert, xangos, worst thing Ive ever tasted, never order! Also I asked for no guacamole on anything and they loaded it! I called and they only wouldnt give me credit, nope, no way, never ordering again. There goes $30
