Ellicott Creek Park in other cities:
Kayak launch is great - double long so it can accommodate 4 boats at a time.Bathroom building was locked was not goodAlgae on the creek is already stinky also not good... But it is still a great place to put in and the current is not fast so it is a good place to learn
We love walking our dog here! It’s nice and spacious and comfortable!! There’s so many different walk paths and little sections to sit! It’s a wonderful picnic place!! I highly recommend a visit for a stroll in the park, a place to feed the birds by the water, a cool place to lay in the sun on a blanket and read a book, walk your dog (pick up their poo!) , so many wonderful things to do in such a beautiful place
We rented a shelter for a party. No one kicked us out at sun down like I expected. Overall good amenities, plenty of playgrounds and green space. Cool watching the frolfers go through, seemed like a big course there for them. Plenty of bike paths. Not crowded. Will return.
My older son plays disc golf here. He loves it. We pick him up when he is done. Or go to exercise area to walk. We drive through the park to look for ducks with the grandchildren too. We have lots of fun singing and going to watch the ducks together ..lolSometimes they see beavers or groundhogs. Squirrels are fun to watch too. Togetherness. .
This is the worst park i ever seen by far. My backyard is more interesting. You cant explore this park because you need a whole vehicle. To save you time, there is nothing to see. I would find more pleasure looking through my car. They dont even have basketball courts. Worst place.
Nice large park along Tonawanda Creek. Variety of play equipment including smaller slides and climbers for toddlers. Leashed dogs are welcome. Impressive frisbee golf course. They have basic restrooms and pavilions which can be reserved. One possible improvement would be water fountains - pack a water bottle.
It is a great park to bring your family to .or just to relaxed after a hard day of work . plenty of space to gather around for picnic or have some friends together for a BBQ . great for jogging and bike ridding . tons of playground for the kids .the ambience is wonderful for a long walk over all a wonderful park .
The friendliness of people at this park never ceases to amaze me. It is sportsmanship and kindness. Today sportsmanship and kindness were on display at the tennis courts. I thought I witnessed something like this last week, but thought, no, that couldnt be possible. It is. People share, so they can ALL play and enjoy the sport of tennis. Today, it was total strangers. Now a team of two is learning the sport. I hear joyful sounds. I hear questions. I hear support and education. THIS is kindness. Goosebumps. There are many groups of friends and family utilizing the walking and bicycle path. Wonderful. Edit: As time passed by, equipment was returned to sharer on more than one occasion. Way to make a difference in your part of the world, and in these peoples lives.
My daughter and I like sitting in my car near the water to eat our take out food while we are still uncomfortable with the idea of eating at a restaurant. This is an excellent place for that activity. There are multiple parking lots with a view of the water, people fishing, walking, walking their dogs, geese, etc.
I enjoyed the front 7 Frisbee Golfing Holes very much. The park is well laid out and has a pleasant atmosphere. The bathroom I visited had a very unfortunate plumbing back-up, but was otherwise clean. The plumbing back-up was very, very bad, so I deducted a star, but I would visit the park again!
This is a great park for a picnic. One of the rare parks that dont have seagulls hovering over your head while eating. Plenty of upgrades to the shelters this year, nice and clean. They have trash bins on site and ample parking. They have large open spaces for Frisbee players, biking and walking trails, tennis courts, etc. Not a lot of bugs either, if any. Its actually nice for birding too near the transmission towers.
The bathrooms used to be a popular place for Buffalo City Court judges and local politicians to hang out. (Google it) Apparently those days are gone and now its a family oriented park. It really is a gem in between the counties. Great for kayak. Biking and running. Picnic facilities and more.
Its a rather large park. I didnt get to count the playgrounds or the total pavilions, but there were at least 16 pavilions for rent and more than 4 playgrounds. Also a disc golf course out there but I havent played it yet. There are multiple public restrooms available, tons of parking spread out across the park, and its conveniently located on ellicott creek.
Very nice disc golf course. Usually some standing water in spring but it does dry up when theres no rain for a week. Disc golf course has some long holes, not much elevation change but some obstacles to throw around for sure. Playgrounds, picnic pavilions and picnic areas, fishing, soccer field, tennis courts, restrooms, and exercise stations. Nice little park nestled between the erie canal and elicott Creek. Plenty of good fishing spots.
Went for a nature walk around the park and played on a few of the many playgrounds with my daughter. It was great! We even watched some gentlemen play cricket. Looks fun! Next time I will post some pics. We are bringing kayaks next time, great place to enter the creek for a nice scenic paddle. Check this place out!
We had our sons birthday party at the casino for the second year in a row. He turned 5 this year 😉 We love having it there! It feels like our own personal cabin 😉 The only thing I didnt like was that the hot and cold water in the bathrooms was opposite and there was no hot water in the kitchen area. Other than that, everything was great! We wish we could rent it overnight and stay there!
Husband and I took the kayaks and had a blast. Huge park, bike trails, lots of playgrounds, clean restrooms/fully stocked. Beautiful landscapes, beautiful bridges would make for great photos, and lots of wildlife. We already said were gonna be spending a lot of time there. Have lived in Buffalo my whole life and only driven past it. Absolutely would recommend.
We rented the Friendship building for a family party and our guests could not say enough good things about the building. The park does a fantastic job of making sure the facilities are clean and ready to use. It was an incredible value for all the amenities. Definitely recommend
Beautiful park. Had driven by many times but never knew how huge it is. My family and I parked there and rode on the bike trail from the park to a few other nice parks in the area. My son also enjoyed one of their many playgrounds. Tons of parking and green space. Looking forward to going back.
A nice spacious park with plenty shade and open spaces. lots of pavilions for rent (around $70) if you want to have an event but depending on the time and day you can usually find an unoccupied one for free. Plenty of paved pathways for biking/running/walking etc and some unpaved ones for those looking for something a little different. They have a cricket pitch, a large playground and several smaller ones, a kayak launch, an outdoor exercise space, and a disc golf course (and Im sure Im forgetting something). They always seem to be adding something new or updating buildings so the park is still improving. This park hasnt always had a stellar reputation but theyve put in a lot of work to make it much nicer place giving it the up and up feeling that places in Buffalo seem to have these days.Tldr: good park
Ellicott Creek Park is nice place for everyone, families, individuals. You can have a lot of fun there. Playgrounds for kids, shelters, sports terrains, toilets. Good for jogging, biking, walking and all activities you want to have outside. As its name says, there is nice creek coming through it. So just visit it and have some fun you will not regret it.
Ellicott Creek is like the best big, quiet, and clean park to go to for a walk, canoeing, picnic, or just a simple play on the playground!!. On a beautiful day Ellicott Creek Park is automatically where I think about spending my day. Beautiful place with such kind people, security for your safety, and a fun place to be with your family or partner on a date!!
Theres a lot of playgrounds to choose from. Theres one main bigger one near the restrooms and several smaller ones. The grass around the playgrounds is a little unkempt and weedy, but overall its an ok playground. Its nice to be able to walk around the park, especially in the fall when all the leaves are changing colors.
Pretty good park. It has Frisbee golf, a small sledding hill for the kids, and a bike path runs through it. It also has Ellicott Creek, and the Erie Canal as its borders, and a dog park with some interesting architecture set on an island in the middle of the Canal. Theres an outdoor exercise machine area, soccer field, pavilions by reservation (some with a kitchen area), and of course lots of play ground equipment. Theres even some forest area, but not very much.
I used to play here when I was a kid. That was a very long time ago. But it has always been a nice park. Its a nice place to launch a blanket lunch, or spend some time with nature. Years ago I would swim in the creek in the hot summers in Buffalo. But I dont think you can do that anymore.Anyway it still is a nice park to take the kids to or go for a walk.
I come here very often for the disc golf course that is here. It is one of my favorite courses to play in WNY. It is usually maintained very well and is overall great. Be cautious if it rained a decent amount before you go because it can get a pretty wet in some spots.
Great park. Frolf course. Fishing ponds. Kayaking creeks. Picnic areas. Everything you need for a nice day outdoors. Would be helpful with more park layouts spread throughout, can be tricky navigating around. Good scenery, rating 4/5 because it is still awesome and definitely worth going to!
One of my favorite places in this world. Grew up in parkview so many great memories in this park. When young it was this wonderful huge open green space where we could run around. There were this odd playground structures that were so much fun. In the late 70s rumours of bad people hanging in those scary bathrooms were told that added more adventure to us. The bowl area is gone- I finally got back to 716 last yr. My brothers and I had to visit our park. Drank my first beer there, had work picnics there, cheerleader for the parkview cadets there, one night we thought it would be fun to see if we could stay in park after it closee. So much fun not getting caught by security. Back then we werent worried about stranger attackers we felt perfectly safe. So much to do at this park if you enjoy just being outside on green grass enjoying the day. There are no vendors in the park so pack for lunch etc..we were always afraid of falling into the creek-still trying to remember why we thought you die if you went in the creek. Now it looks like people canoe and kayak on the creek...thats great oh I know I babbled on- sorry. Its a huge park so make memories of your own its worth seeing
Needs updating. Some work being done, but not well maintained by Erie County. Decent pavilions, wide open spaces, plenty of trees for shade, areas for fishing, frisbee golf, exercise area and cycling as well as sledding hills in the winter months. Bike paths were recently repaved. FYI, Helmets must be worn by all while riding bikes in Erie County Parks.
Nice place for a bike ride, playgrounds, tennis court, pavilions to rent. Bike riders can easily cross Niagara falls boulevard to get on the UB bike path or go in the opposite direction and be on Tonawanda Creek which runs right by the Ellicott Creek dog park. Very shady, there is also a kayak launch and place to rent kayaks. It is conveniently located off of Niagara falls boulevard there is a gas station right next to it many hotels right down the street for out of town visitors and plenty of restaurants up and down the boulevard.
Beautiful !! Right now i am looking at it from my living room with my cat holland , his brother bee is sleeping both had a long day looking outside at the creek and all the beautiful wildlife . I live at the paradise apartments. Cant wait summer is almost here. I can walk along the creek and rent s kayak.tonite mars is visable, i am waiting to see this great planet right now!!!
This kayak launch is just off of Niagra Falls Blvd by Ellicott Creek. There is a small parking lot which is free to use. Youll be sharing the parking lot with people fishing as well as kayaking. There is a floating kayak launch so easy to get in and out of the water. Ellicott Creek is a nice slow body of water, about 1.5 miles up stream from Tonawanda. The day I went out saw a turtle in the river, quite a few fish and an egret.
Nice big park connected to the north Buffalo trail system. You can run or bike to North Tonawanda to visit the end of the Erie Canal, travel past that south to downtown Buffalo, head the other way all together and visit UB North Campus, or go northeast out of the park to stay on the river trail. The park has lots of open space with plenty of summer shade, ramadas with grills and tables, and a jungle gym for kids. There is also a rentable building in the center of the park.

2022-06-23Awesome place with good people that keep it very clean and secure. I love taking my daughter there because the good crowd is who takes their children there. Well mannered children with respectable parents. Facilities for washing up and using the bathroom are also well maintained and easily accessible.

2022-05-31The park is big and there is a lot of open space. There are many parks along the trail but some are pretty worn down, sharp edges that can be dangerous for little ones. I just keep an eye on my kiddos and theyre fine. They enjoy going. We have played tball and soccer on a sports team here and came to a birthday party at one of the shelters. Have had a good experience each time.

2022-06-26This park is a great park for everything. There are six separate play grounds so weatger you children like to play alone or with friends, there is a spot for them. With BBq grillsand picnic tables, the park is great for events. My favorite part is the shade which makes it a great place to hang out in the summer. If you do not own a boat you can rent one.

2022-04-05Cute park with a path and a bunch of different playgrounds. My daughters love to come here and go from playground to playground. The playgrounds could definitely use some updating though, broken pieces here and there.

2021-08-07Cut the grass. Worst maintained park in area. They trim on edges. Garbage in areas for the last two years. There too busy driving around in pick up trucks back n forth to get out
