Ellis Hollow is the best preschool in the Ithaca area. We looked at all the preschools in and around Ithaca, and nothing compared to the experience of Ellis Hollow. Ms Ellie and Ms Kai are amazing, compassionate, and caring. Our daughter loved her time there. The best part (see images) was the Works of heART show the teachers did. My wife and I loved that every childs art was different and unique (not cookie cutter). It expressed their own personalities and reflected their own love for the preschool and teachers. If you are in Ithaca or at Cornell - Ellis Hollow should be your one and only stop for an amazing preschool.

Ellis Hollow Nature School is an outstanding preschool. Two kind, dependable, and experienced teachers lead kids through year-round outdoor learning. The outdoor program allows the kids to experiment, explore, and establish a joyful hardiness that adds so much richness and wonder to the their lives. Nothing could be better.

We have had the best experience with EHNS preschool. Both of our boys have gone through the program starting at age 3 and we couldn’t have been happier with their experience. There is so much to love about the program including the student-centered, play based curriculum, the incredible family bonds that have been made over the years, the fun and colorful classroom, the magical forest classroom, the beautiful grounds and wooden playground! I could go on forever, but I truly believe it’s the teachers, Ms. Kai and Ms. Ellie, that set this program leaps and bounds above the rest. They are so talented and such a gift to this community. We will be forever grateful for their unwavering support, patience, love, flexibility and encouragement for our kiddos over the years!

Ms Kai & Ms Ellie are real life super heroes! We love them so much and our kids have been so happy in their program. We feel so lucky that they moved the program outdoors during covid and the teachers have made the outdoor experience so magical. It is also a great community to be a part of and we have met some really awesome families.

My son has attended 1 year of Ellis Hollow so far and we look forward to his second year next year. He adores his teachers Miss Ellie and Miss Kai. Most days when I go to pick him up he does not want to leave! The school has a great play space inside and an incredible play structure/area outside. Ellie and Kai are amazingly patient, kind, creative, flexible, and fun. We are so grateful we found this preschool!

Ive been nannying for a family all year and doing pickups from this school each day. The teachers are so amazing with the children and have obviously worked together as a team for years. The school is set in a surprisingly central area for us and has an outstanding playground space. We were originally going to enroll my own son somewhere else and changed our mind to enroll in Ellis Hollow Preschool instead - the community, the teachers, the intimate setting, everything just seemed like such a great fit, especially for my shy guy. So glad we found it!

Ellis Hollow Nursery School has been such an incredible experience for my shy, reserved daughter. The teachers are experienced, compassionate, loving, FUN, and are really able to connect with kids. I cannot say enough good things about this school!

My very shy daughter had an excellent experience at Ellis Hollow Nursery School this year, with the most warm and thoughtful teachers I have met in the area! Not to mention an unusually supportive group of families. Highly recommend!

My son was at another local preschool and never wanted to go to school. The year he turned four we found Ellis Hollow, it hadnt come up in past searches. My son had an amazing 1st year. He loves going to school and is thriving. Initially I wasnt going to even look at because it was Mon-Thurs 9-12 ( we were used to mon- fri 830-330) , it was across town and a coop. Basically it was the hardest on me ( I have three kids). People still think that I am crazy when I tell them I take him there but it is such a special school and I have never seen my son so happy. The teachers and the group of families is so unique. If you are looking for a special spot for your child, this is it. Miss Ellie and Miss Kai are fun, creative, and nurturing.

Our daughter has been so lucky to attend EHNS for the past two years. The new outdoor classroom is magical and the teachers are incredible. I recommend this program to any family looking for a preschool.
