I appreciated being told to remain in my car until they were ready for me. It made me feel that inside the office was being kept as clean as possible. My cleaning was uneventful and relatively pain-free, even with the jabbing to measure. Only one area was of concern and I was told to give it particular attention. I asked about a new electric toothbrush and Bernie gave me a suggestion. Bernie was pleasant and efficient as was Dr. Daly.Good visit but I missed saying, Hi to the LaMars.
Elmwood is the best! I chipped my tooth, got an appointment fast, got my tooth fixed even faster!! Dr Daly was very nice: explaining each part of the process and doing wonderful work! Muriel the hygienist what also very accommodating helpful. I also want to mention how kind and helpful the individuals at the reception desk are! 5 stars all around! I really trust this dental practice.
The staff is happy and welcoming in every aspect. Anything you need, you tell someone and they make it happen for you. Good conversation. Great focus. Beautiful inside the office to create a hunble experience. 10 out of 10 hands down.

It had been a few years since I had visited a dentist. The staff from receptionists all the way up to the dentist was very nice and calming. I felt at ease thru the whole process.

I love Elmwood Dental! I hate going to the dentist but I actually love coming here!! The staff is so nice and caring. The office is clean all the time. I just had my first appointment with Elmwood and receive treatment from the dentist and her staff that was beyond wonderful. Their concern for my comfort and safety was exemplary.I transfered from a wonderful dentist who retired; it was then I sought recommendations for a new dentist. Elwood Dental was recommended by several people and I was not disappointed. It was a pleasure to go there.

Very friendly, competent, and professional dental practice. My wife and I just started there last year after over 40 years at another practice that closed after our dentist retired. I had a crown done recently at Elmwood and was very impressed with how painless and efficient the process was.
What a wonderful practice! After dealing with several places where the staff either didn’t care or didn’t know what they were doing, it was such a breath of fresh air to find a place that I felt wanted, needed, cared for and not brushed off in. It was only my first visit and I felt at home. I can’t say enough how grateful I am for discovering Elmwood Dental. World class customer service and knowledge. In September 2021 I received the full mouth Hybridge restoration at Elmwood Dental and 2 months later I am thrilled with the results. Completely life changing. It was a process but absolutely worth it.
I have been going here since I was a child. I had lots of dental work as a 7 year old and have perfect teeth today. They did a great job closing my front teeth gap through surgery and braces and ensuring that my pallete still expanded properly throughout my early development while making sure I still had a perfect smile. I also had my wisdom teeth taken out without anesthesia and was laughing the whole time. I healed up in under one week. I highly recommend.
I cant recommend this dental practice any higher. Every single person there has been extremely helpful and kind. And, Im so very happy with the outcome. Wish I had come here long ago.
Everyone at Elmwood Dental is so friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. They listen carefully and are always willing and able to explain things and/or answer any questions you may have. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. I have never had to wait and am often called back a little earlier than my scheduled appointment. Dr. Frank (Sr.) was my first, childhood dentist - adulthood and was excellent always. The tradition has remained; its hard to find this level of quality care. Highly recommended!
Ive been going to Elmwood Dental since 1999, and they continue to provide the best care and detailed explanations of any dental work that need to be done. Both Dr. Frank and Dr. Jim and their assistants take their time in reviewing your case ensuring that you the patient understand all of the recommendations and options. Its great to have this kind of dental care here in Rochester. My patient care support administrator Heather has been excellent.
I needed an implant to replace a broken molar. Everyone was friendly, professional and on time for every appointment. They clearly explained every step of the process. The results were good and I have no complaints.

I didnt actually get past the second screener to be treated. My insurance and zip code status only entitled me to an initial appointment four months in the future, and oh, I would need to pay for that appointment right now, in advance. I thought this might be SOP, however two of my friends who got the Hybridge at Elmwood were not required to pay four months before an appointment even was granted. I have dental insurance, it wont pay for their services however, which maybe I should have been more specific with the screener.
I recently had my first visit at this office as I recently relocated back to Rochester, NY. I havent been to a dentist since March of 2019 due to my relocation, global crisis, new job, etc. But my hygienist, Janice, was so friendly and informative. The doctor who did my check was extremely nice and comforting. With the pandemic, I felt very safe with their cleanliness and precautions. I am excited to call this place my dentist office now.
Elmwood Dental Implant & Restoration Center has exceeded my initial expectations. I researched the practice thoroughly before scheduling my visit. The staff was top notch, kind,attentive and very professional. Probably the most pleasant dentist appointment I have experienced. Dr. Jim and his team really know what they are doing and greatly relieved my anxiety for the implant procedure. They worked gently and quickly - always careful of my comfort during the whole procedure. They make sure you have post op procedure in hand when you leave and follow up with a phone call the next day to discuss any issues you may have.
Everyone at Elmwood Dental was wonderful! Robin answered the phone and explained how to go to Care Credit for help because I am self-pay. Heather called me back to schedule my root canal. Both of them were caring and very sweet.Dr. Khan did my procedure with the assistance of Miranda ( I hope I remembered her name correctly.) I had an infection and have a high tolerance for Novocaine, making my dental procedures usually painful. They were both very attentive towards my comfort and made sure that I was in the least amount of pain possible.The office was very clean and professional looking.I highly recommend Elmwood Dental for all of your oral care needs.
I should preface this by saying that I get EXTREME anxiety going to the dentist. With that being said, I just had four wisdom teeth extracted with nothing other than local anesthesia with Dr. Mike today and I was so calm I could have fallen asleep. I am not kidding, he had me LAUGHING during the surgery! I can’t speak on the other dentists there (though I am sure they are just as great), but he is by far the best dentist I’ve ever had. He explains everything very well, didn’t leave one question of mine unanswered, and actually took the time to hear out any concerns I had. Everyone in the office is so sweet and I feel very well taken care of every time I am there. I no longer dread going to the dentist. I also really like that they give you, in detail, the cost of any procedure you need to have done beforehand. 10/10 recommend!
I recently had an appointment at Elmwood Dental and I was very pleased. I am usually a nervous wreck when it comes to visits at the dentist office. Dr. Kayleigh Comfort and her assistant Ashley were awesome. The both of them made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Everyone I came in contact with were very nice and welcoming from the time I signed in until the time I signed out. I will definitely recommend Elmwood Dental without a doubt.
Dr. Missy and her assistant Michelle are THE team to go to if you need a tooth extracted. I had a particularly difficult tooth that needed to be extracted and it was done with compassion, precision, and expertise. I am forever grateful and without pain!

For a long time, I couldnt afford dental care. I was extremely anxious about going to a dentist but Dr. Khan and her team have been helping me for several months to take my dental care back and have provided me with excellent, reassuring, and relatively pain free care in a professional and caring environment. I wouldnt want to go any where else.
I see Dr. Melissa Baleno at Elmwood and have always had a great experience. She has done fillings and root canals for me and I’ve never had any issues. Ive been coming to Elmwood Dental for years. They did a wonderful job with my implants and keep my teeth in great shape. In addition, they are always friendly, courteous and make the trip to the dentist a pleasant experience. They explain everything clearly as well. Great people! Great job!
I havent been happy with their service for a while now, but I grumbled along and gave them a benefit of the doubt. However, their attitude bothered me the most today. On my first visit in 2018, I went there for a general inspection and treatment. I especially highlighted a problem with pain in my wisdom tooth that needed pulling out. The dentist on call that day took one look at me and ordered a routine cleaning, which I appreciated, but which has since got prioritized at the expense of the wisdom tooth since. They kept on postponing it, to when the doctor would see it after another round, and another round of the routine cleaning. This never happened. So, last week on the 10/20/20, out of frustration, I finally asked for a referral from them to allow me to get the wisdom tooth pulled elsewhere. The receptionist obliged saying she would fax my records to the new dental service. She assured me that it was done too that morning too. Until I found out today, the 10/27, on the day of my appointment, that Elmwood Dental refused to grant it. When I asked, they said that they at Elmwood Dental could do it by themselves. This one receptionist even feigned ignorance at me asking for the procedure, claiming it was not stated in my records, when in fact during the earlier phone calls, this other receptionist had even specified based on the scans which wisdom tooth needed pulling out. She did this without me volunteering this new information. They always knew. However, what irks me is the idea that now that I have decided to move on, they can simply refuse to pass this responsibility to somebody else that can prioritize it and do it. That they can do this with all the entitlement too, and on the flimsiest of grounds too; i.e., as if they are not aware of the problem; that a doctor had never made that judgment call on any of my earlier visits. Its the first thing I brought up on my first visit a year or two ago; and I kept on bringing it up in subsequent visits too, but to no avail. I really gave these folks a benefit of the doubt. I truly trusted that they cared for me as a patient. They didnt. But thats OK. Ill start elsewhere with a new dentist and get new records as if I never spent a cent with Elmwood Dental. Ill never do that again, pay some hard-earned money only to get that disrespected and brushed aside as a service tallying exercise. And this darn wisdom tooth hurts 24/7 right now. Its the most excruciating pain ever. It didnt need to get this bad; this far. So, thats it. Im done with these people. Im so sick of entitled caregivers who are tonedeaf, and who are all set on what it is that they want to do for a patient, brushing aside the patients primary health concerns.
Kate at Elmwood Dental is an exceptional hygienist. She’s thorough, professional, and very knowledgeable. I am always grateful for my time with her, and her expertise. She also stays very close to on schedule; I’ve never waited more than a few minutes in the waiting room for her. I’ve been going to her for years, and consider her a real asset to the staff here.
I change my dentist about a year and a half ago and everytime i go to Elmwood Dental everyone is very nice and friendly from the receptionist to the doctor. Dr. Comfort is the best dentist i have ever had. I would recommend this place to anyone thats looking for a good positive office to get their dental care needs done.
Recently moved to town and needed to find a dentist - Elmwood is on my way to/from work, and had good reviews, so I decided to try them out. After having my first appt today, I will definitely be going back - everyone I encountered was friendly and professional. I hadnt been to the dentist for a couple years, and was pretty nervous about this visit, but it was an excellent experience, and Im happy I found them!

I hadn’t been to the dentist in numerous years as I have a severe phobia of dentist. I went in to see Dr. Mike. He immediately put me at ease. We came up with a treatment plan and I had my first “treatment” 4 days ago. I had a root canal and NEVER felt a thing. I had no pain during or after the procedure. I have 5 more appointments scheduled and can’t wait to get the rest of my teeth taken care of. I also have to give a huge shout out to Heather, their new patient appointment scheduler. She helped with the insurance and scheduled all my appointments working around my work schedule. From the start they have put me at ease! I can’t recommend Dr. Mike enough, he is amazing! Thank you Dr. Mike and staff!!
I went to Elmwood Dental hoping that they could help improve my smile with Hybridge implants.It has been less than a year and I have beautiful teeth (and no pain).The results have been fantastic! I look much better and feel more confident.All of the staff have been really great.The doctors really know their stuff. They clearly take pride in their work and care how the patient feels.I have never been a fan of going to the dentist. Theyve really changed that for me.I would recommend this team to anyone that wants excellent care and a great outcome.
I have fairly extensive dental work and seemingly constant dental needs. Although I have been to others, you cant beat the full service and knowledge base Elmwood Dental offers. Modern technology, kind and fun people and stellar care. I recently lost a filling and Dr. Mike squeezed me in immediately, although I hadnt been to the practice in years. Im back for good now!
Been going there for 6 years now, and my new hygienist Kate is absolutely fantastic, she takes the time required to work with me and not make me feel like its a house of pain. She is super diligent in making sure I leave 100% better off than when I walked in. She makes sure the doctors come on time and I dont have to burn time waiting for them to stop in for their review, even after 2 visits she knows how I like to schedule future appointments, what type of floss I like and all my other preferences. I know i dont exactly have options as far as practices to go, but its super helpful to have the experience be great.
I have been coming to this practice for my dental care for 15 years. They are always attentive and professional. I never spend more than 10 minutes in the waiting room. They are very efficient about sending reminders about my appointments through texts and emails. I highly recommend them!
I have been a patient at Elmwood Dental for as long as I can remember. Three cleanings per year with Debbie (who is awesome) plus other work over the years. My last service had an outstanding balance which I overlooked too long, but I figured it wasnt a big deal considering I was going in for another cleaning and planned on paying then. After Stephanie left me a voicemail stating they were cancelling my appointment until I paid my bill I felt a little uneasy with the strong arm tactics and called her back. She wouldnt keep my appointment on the books unless I paid the bill immediately on the phone. Great job. You will get my $130 dollars, as you should, but you will not get one more penny from me or my insurance. Great business plan.

She was thorough, friendly, and took time to ensure I knew what she was doing and answered questions I had about my health. I hope I can request her next time I go!
After relocating to Rochester I was in search of a dentist. I was referred to Elmwood Dental by the close friend who had nothing but great things to say about the practice. Ive been there twice for cleanings and have had great experiences. The staff is personal and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable asking questions and confidence that I was getting the best care.I would recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dentist in the area!

I did not personally visit this office because my insurance was not accepted. The receptionist went above and beyond for me when I called. She helped point me in the right direction on how to find a dentist that would take my insurance. She was super polite and didn’t just say no and sorry. She took extra time out of her day and helped me! Thank you so much!! Wish my insurance was accepted. The receptionist is a ROCK STAR! Thanks again!!
I went to do crown and I asked the doctor if i need root canal he said no I told him if it need’s root canal? i wanted to pull the tooth out he said no it will be good. after 1 week he put the crown the crown came off and I went again and he put it back and i had very bad pain then i call him he said, oh it needs root canal i told him you said it will be ok. I spent time, money and i did not get anything good. he said, just wait it will be fine. Now after 3 months the crown came off , but this time I swallowed the crown. I don’t recommend anyone to go to this clinic, they charge you money and you waste time at the end you don’t get any good work. Doesn’t worth a star.
This place is the best very friendly and professional!! Dr. Comfort is the best. Even when the anesthesia was applied it wasnt so unpleasant to get my root canal and take care of some cavity. I think its worth every Dollar!! ❤ Thank you I am very satisfy with the worked done!
Worst experience I’ve ever had. They are very unprofessional as well as rude. The girl that answered the phone hung up on me mid sentence. I patiently waited 2 months for my appointment. The day before the appointment they called me to tell me they won’t be able to see me. They stated it’s not the appropriate place for me with the work I need done. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone

Worst hygienists I’ve ever had. I was a patient of my dentist for 20+ years before he merged with Elmwood Dental (he is no longer around) and I had literally the best hygienist. She left many years ago and since then I’ve gotten one hygienist after another and they all left me wondering why there appears to be such a disparity in skill and why none of them seem to want to stay with the practice. I’d avoided going for over three years and at my most recent appointment the hygienist “Kate” completely disregarded my request for frequent water rinses and then coated my tongue and back of throat with polishing spray. Not sure when skill and understanding became the exception but it is certainly lacking here.

I have gone here ever since I moved back to Rochester, and I have my entire family going here. The office is top notch and professional staff are located throughout. They are thorough and have an extremely knowledgeable staff. Dr. Mike is great and is a funny person. The staff take great care with my 5 year old and she enjoys the dentist more than a kid should!

I had not had my teeth cleaned in awhile so I was prepared for the worst. I had quite the contrary experience. I heard many positive comments and praises as the hygienist cleaned. She explained each step of the way and asked about my comfort with concern. She also had some advice on keeping my teeth the cleanest. This was an excellent experience.
Since I needed a rather precise sleep apnea fixture {mandibular mouthpiece], I found Elmwood Dental just the place to go. Apnea involves an irritating amount of insurance, etc., paperwork to cover the mouthpiece being fashioned. The staff took great pains to get all that in order. The fitting and crafting the mouthpiece was efficient and not troublesome at all. And the adjustment visits all went smoothly.The original mouthpiece design, I understand, had been computerized, so that any future replacements would be very much simplified. As bad luck would have it, my last visit involved a possible repair of a simple shear-fracture in the mouthpiece, certainly because of its age. Elmwood will be looking into a replacement if a repair does not seem like a better solution. Again, the staff is uncomplainingly looking into the paperwork needed for either answer.I highly recommend Elmwood Dental, and would not consider going anywhere else.
Elmwood Dental is by far, the most professional, and friendly place to have any Dental work done. I’ve been going there since I was a kid, and they have never once lost sight of providing their patients with the most worry free, and quality experience! Been going to this office since way back when. Always a great folks. Dr. Komfort just did great crown work for me. They have started taking blood pressure readings. Mine were high at my first appt but figured white coat. I started taking BPs at home and still high. Now working with my doctor to lower. If not for Elmwood Dental, I likely would have gone several more months with high BP. Like Dr. Komfort said, We see you at least twice a year and you only see your doctor once a year. This the best dental practice I have ever encountered and that includes major cities on the West Coast and East Coast over a period of 50 years. I receive excellent personalized care, Im now in a wheelchair, with the most up-to-date dental technology and the most pleasant, considerate and helpful service from everyone in the practice: secretaries, billing personnel, hygienists, dentists and surgeons. I can honestly say, I know how improbable this sounds, that I actually enjoy going to the dentist.

Been there for every 6 month cleanings since a Deaf dentist Chris began working. It must be about 10 years. I found him very good communicator. We use ASL. He always inform how my teeth are doing. The billing service is very good. I do not pay a cent for the cleanings.

I have been going to Dr. Frank and Dr. Jim for 25 years. The most important thing for a patient to have is trust in their doctor. They have built that trust over 25 years of amazing work. Surgery is never fun but I know when I am in the chair the results will be amazing.

I had an infected wisdom tooth that showed symptoms Friday. They were the only dental business open on Saturday. The entire staff was pleasant, friendly, and professional. My diagnosis was quickly done and gave clear instructions on what I needed done. They were supportive even when I chose to go to another dentist for the actual tooth removal. Carrie the receptionist and Dr. Beleno I recommend.
My sleep apnea doctor referred me to Dr. Michael Baleno to be consulted about an appliance for my sleep apnea. Everything went very smoothly for my first visit. They worked with my schedule to get in as soon as possible and told me what to expect at the first appointment as well as what my cost would be. Everyone was very welcoming, efficient, and the place is very clean and up to date. Dr. Baleno explained my sleep study results and how the appliance works. He made sure I would be a good candidate for it before taking impressions to make the appliance. I would highly recommend this dental practice.
I was referred to Elmwood Dental by my regular dentist. This was a very good move since i needed implants to replace my broken front teeth and had no idea as to where to go for this procedure. The staff were friendly and professional. The dental work is now finished and is exactly what I was expecting.
The office staff is polite and respectful. If theyre busy theyll turn you over to someone else. With that said, there is a woman dentist there who is VERRY condesending; she talks to and treats a 60+ yr old adult like a 5 yr old child! She removed a filling to replace it, and Also Extracted The Tooth Next To It w out asking or giving me any other options. There was nothing wrong with that tooth! Then wants $11k for a implant ~ 😮 cant do a cap or a bridge w no tooth there! $4k here, $7k here, $3k here...they dont nickel and dime you to death, they thousand dollar you to death!😮

I really appreciate the cleanliness and friendly staff. I also love that my hygenist takes the time to explain things to me and is knowledgable about what insurance will and wont cover and can give me out of pocket prices.
Id avoided seeing a dentist for a couple years and was welcomed with open arms. The entire staff understood my hesitation and made a concerted effort to provide me the best possible care, with a big ol smile. My consultation included X-rays and a thorough oral exam, which was performed and reviewed by my dentist, Dr. Melissa Baleno. The hygienist got my teeth back to sparking again, and for the first time in a long time, I didnt feel like holding back my smile. So glad to have found my new dental team.
By far one of the best Dental practices in Rochester. Everything you need under one roof. Each Doctor has a specialty so from young and old they can take care of everything.Elmwood Dental has been taking great care of our whole family for years, everything from simple cleanings, my kids braces, mouth guards, post cap & crowns and even implants.

This company is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau beware. There leaving customers with multiple issues after paying thousands of dollars. I would not recommend. Crowns falling out etc. Make sure to do your due diligence before giving these people your hard earned money.

Ill keep it short.My wife went to Elmwood Dental for some routine dental care. We paid all fees up front, calling the office in advance more than once with insurance information and stating our desire to ensure that the whole cost would be paid up front. I have very common insurance, through the largest public school policy in the area.We were assured both on the phone and at the front desk upon check-in that all was taken care of.I got a bill just now for $56.60Calling the office to inquire, I was sent to insurance specialist (their words, not mine) Sandy Nasky, who proceeded to tell me that the insurance is variable, that they are unpredictable as to what they will cover and what they wont, and then proceeded to very pointedly accuse me of negligence in not having every number of my insurance policy committed to memory.She then laughed at me over the phone.My wife asked to talk to her, and she was completely unapologetic and downright nasty to her as well.She then hung up on my wife.Do NOT use Elmwood Dental in Rochester NY unless you want to be laughed at by Sandy Nasky on the phone some months later.

Seems as if you only want positive experiences posted on Internet. Unfortunatly I didnt have one. It cost me $25,000 to have full upper implants w/o surgery only to be treated w/ the utmost disrespect by the snakeoil salesman Dr. Frank. Who needs a dentist w/ a chip on his shoulder certainly not me for that amt of money.Staff is wonderful. Dr Frank needs an attitude adjustment.

My friends think Im a nut because I get excited about going to my dentist. They treat me well, they make me laugh, they tell me stories about their life. Id go and just hang out there if it wasnt a dental office. Lol. Only thing is it is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Good dental work, but horrible billing! They were NOT honest that my Aetna Vital Savings plan would not be accepted, and somehow they assumed that I had Aetna insurance. I am a graduate student, so I cannot afford Aetna insurance and told that to them clearly. They also gave me a dentist out-of-the-network, who I did not even know was not accepting new patients under Aetna Vital Savings plan. I am overcharged by hundreds of dollars, and I cannot believe that I paid $575 for deep cleaning, periodontal deep scaling!*Reimbursement received! The staff members need to be retrained.

My friend had three crowns installed and the work was unacceptable. He shared his complaints with the doctors and they never admitted any wrongdoing. What happened to customer service? He’ll never return or refer anyone to their practice.

Beware of this place. They will take your money complete the job half heartedly, and refuse to correct the problem. Years later and my fiancé is still dealing with the issues associated with his procedure. Please do your research, before giving this company your hard earned money.

I am disappointed in the process for renewing a prescription. The last two times I have needed to have a renewal of a prescription I have had to call after the pharmacy called and in the latest instance it took a second phone call to finally accomplish the task. It seems to me this is a problem that can be corrected. It is disappointing to have to write this but I have been complimentary in the past so I need to be as true in responding here.

2022-04-20I never write reviews and I did not think my first one would be of a dental office but I cannot say enough nice things about this place. I moved to Cleveland, Ohio but I still come back Rochester for my dental appointments (and to see my family) because I refuse to go to any other dentist. I used to have bad anxiety before my dentist appointments but I do not anymore. Dr. Mike is simply the best! He truly makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. I recently got a tooth extracted and a bone graft and the whole time I was so relaxed as I knew I was in good hands- also the pain post surgery has been very minimal. Additionally, every single dental hygienist I have seen has been so gentle and so so nice. I cannot thank them enough as I do not have to fear the dentist anymore.

2022-04-07In general dentist are not my favorite people to visit. I came to Elwood in search of molars, mine abandon me a while back except for two on the upper left. We have gotten to the point of temporaries and I can say my expectation have been meant and succeeded. The experience was that of a dental procedure which, in my case, is unique and I will not bore you with the details. I will tell you that the dentist and assistant were both exemplary in dealing with my teeth!

2022-07-12My dentist was so NICE & FUN to talk to! I am new to this dental clinic and I love the vibes from this place. Everyone was nice and made me feel at ease. I am definitely going to continue coming here for my treatments and their pricings arent bad at all compared to the previous work Ive done which costed so much more for the same treatment (including insurance coverage).

2022-07-13Having had implants and dental restoration in 3 states, I much prefer ELMWOOD DENTAL.The atmosphere is positive, and the staff is both competent and kind (I think thats important in a dental office where patients may be nervous). Dr Frank and his associates took time to explain in detail, all procedures, as well as alternatives.The price is moderate, but all inclusive. You can trust this skilled team to do the best possible restoration. The implant and other dental work I had at Elmwood Dental 12 years ago has given me absolutely no problems.By comparison, an implant I received elsewhere had to be removed after 4 Years. Another implant specialist didnt include anesthesia or crowns, so the cost presented was incomplete.Ive returned to Elmwood Dental despite the fact that I was living in another state at the time I made my appointment. I believe they are the best!
