Embassy Suites by Hilton Syracuse in other cities:
Staff is incredibly rude and disrespectful. The rooms and lobby look nice but that was heavily overshadowed by the condescending staff. I was traveling with my dog, Im lugging a large suitcase and 3 bags and my dog on a short leash as I check in, trying to keep my dog calm and right by my side. Unfortunately, several staff members keep rushing up to us and kneeling down to pet my dog and give her treats without asking my permission, causing my dog to tug and knock over my suitcase. Then some angry manager lady, I believe her name was Karen (or should have been at least) comes around and tells me dogs that arent under control arent welcome here and then walks away. If I hadnt just driven 9 hours that day, I wouldve left and found a friendlier hotel. Unfortunately, I stayed the night and every encounter I had with staff after that was met with an annoyed, rude, and condescending reaction. I would avoid this hotel until theyve got new management and better staff training. Half the lights in my room didnt work, the furniture is covered in yellow and brown stains, used needles scattered around the parking lot. Not a very good place, but the staff could at least try to be friendly.
Was not told about making a pool reservation at check-in. We select hotels with a pool for the kids. There were no available pool reservations when we checked in. Also the pull out bed springs were almost poking through and was too uncomfortable for anyone to sleep on. Could not eat at the breakfast as they opened after we leave. Does not accommodate guests that have to depart early. This hotel was on the pricey side compared to others in the area, but they did not even come close to making it worth it. Front desk were very nice. Bar tender was great, but accommodations were horrible!!
I’ve been to a few Embassy Suites, none of them have looked like this!If this is what we are to expect moving forward then my business trips are going to be boss moving forward.I had a living room with a sink, “Microwave”, Fridge, 55” or 60” TV mounted, business desk with 3 chairs, really nice bathroom and secondary room that had the same sized tv comfy bed and for once pillows that helped me sleep!
Rooms were great. Very spacious and clean. Breakfast was good as well. I would suggest bringing an extension cord if planning on using an Xbox or Playstation to watch TV in the bedroom however. The closest outlet is connected to a mirror light which would need to be kept on in order to run the electronics. Definitely a pain at night if you like to watch TV while sleeping. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay.
I remember the old embassy suites hotel it was beautiful it was like sitting in a garden not that this isnt pretty but its very sterile and I guess these days thats kind of what you need so theres no germs but it just had me reminiscing back to days when they were flowers everywhere and it was beautiful. I appreciate their happy hour indoor pool I like to stay at embassy is often as I can.
The employees at the front desk all seem miserable and depressed, and I think I discovered why. Theres a middle management karen with messy short dyed-red hair behind the front desk that seems to be on a war path. I tried to find her name badge but wouldnt you know it, she was the only staff member there without a name badge. She berates and yells at the friendly front desk staff who were actually being friendly and helpful but seem to be in training so they werent as efficient as she wanted. In addition, the karen manager lady would snap at guests in line and just hanging out in the lobby during breakfast. I asked her how the free breakfast works, and her response was a condescending we stopped serving breakfast hours ago. She didnt make any attempt to help me, didnt try to tell me where the breakfast area is, how to get the free breakfast (they require a coupon that youre supposed to get during check-in), or what the breakfast hours are. How do people with such short tempers and minimal social skills become middle management at this place? The hotel itself is nice, but the management act like angry teenagers. I dont understand how they expect guests and staff members to be happy here with behavior like that.
Left items in the room and after I returned home, I confirmed on the phone with the front desk, that they found it. They wanted a credit card number and I sent a pre paid VISA to them to mail me my items back. Hotel returned the VISA along with a letter, that they disposed my items (value about $200) because I did not provide them a credit card number. No further communication - I called multiple times, but wasnt able to speak someone who can help me. No one called me. Very poor customer experience.
Absolutely loved this hotel! Super clean and staff very friendly. The best continental breakfast Ive had a hotel in NY. Made to order omelets, pancakes, bacon, and a tone of other options. The hotel is beautiful 😍 Will definitely stay here anytime I am traveling to Syracuse.
Me and my youth group came here for youth convention It was a nice room, a nice pool and the breakfast was good however there are a few flaws the you had to make a reservation for the pool and when we leave for conferences the maids would not take are trash but it was still nice
The room looked nice , however it was pretty dingy , about the bed a few counters , made it uncomfortable to sit anywhere. The room ac was not working wel, slept hot for the entire night, I just think for almost 200 a night it should be really clean . Not the best not the worse , won’t spend money like that on a room when it’s equivalent to everything around here
The room and overall hotel was great! Unfortunately there was a very loud group in the lobby from 10pm until about 1am that disturbed our sleep. We call the front desk several times and they did not answer. Once we finally reached someone nothing was done. It was very frustrating.
The laundry room needs to get updated. Machine doesn’t take card, only quarters and no place in hotel to exchange bills for quarters.Other than that, Second visit here was great! First visit was during Covid, second visit they had opened up many places. Corina was very helpful! Friendly staff and very clean.
This hotel used to be warm, inviting and relaxing with the streams and waterfalls, tress and walkways through beautiful foliage. Thats what I was expecting when I booked a room for my birthday. Instead we walked into a cold, way too bright, bunch of cubicles. They tore out everything that made this hotel unique, and replaceuseit with what looks like an office. I felt like I was at work preparing for a PowerPoint presentation. The happy hour is now 2 drinks from a very small selection, and what used to be yummy cheese and snacks, is now a 50 cent bag of chips with no sound, no music..very cold and bright. Our room was way too hot, and no way to cool it. We will never come back to this hotel, its truly a shame what they did to it.
The bed is super uncomfortable, the pillows are all bumpy sponges. Queen size sheets on a king size bed. Towels feel like rags. There is breakfast - eggs to order, but other than that, the choices are very limited. No fresh fruit, no yogurt, horrible coffee. There was no coffee packets, but there was a used coffee pad in the coffee maker when I got in.The service is good, these are all management issues. I stayed in this hotel during the renovations and came back since I expected it to be new and good, but standard for Embassy Suites has obviously gone down. It feels like a 2 star hotel, but the price does not reflect that.
After making reservations, we got an email about the pool being available by reservation only because of covid restrictions. We immediately called and were told that this was no longer the case. Part of thrill of staying here was the fact that our kids could swim. After checking in and going down to the pool, we find out that you have to reserve the pool.ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS. Every single person can enter this hotel with NO COVID RESTRICTIONS IN PLACE BUT TO ENTER WHAT IS PROBABLY THE CLEANEST PLACE IN A HOTEL YOU CAN ONLY ALLOW ONE FAMILY IN THE POOL AREA AT A TIME. Not one bit of cleaning will be done in between each family.Again ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS.I will also be emailing and calling Hilton and not just bashing them on Google.
Bathroom floor was dirty. Carpet is worn and shredded at the join with the hard floor. No hairdryer, no vent in bathroom. Not worth the money theyre asking for it. The only bright spot was the omelette cook, who was a gem!The common areas are cold and corporate. Even at the evening reception the lights are so bright you feel like youre being interrogated. Not warm and cozy. Furniture is made for giants. We wont be back.
Beautiful hotel! Delicious breakfast! Mostly importantly, impeccable customer service! The young lady that works in the evening during the week is the sweetest thing since sliced pie. I had a very hot room and she pulled out al the stops to make sure I was comfortable. I will 100% be back!
Just stayed here for two nights. Suite is very nice and updated. Upon arrival I noticed we didn’t have any soap or shampoo in our bathroom and a blanket in our closet was wadded up and not folded which I assume had been used. Tried to call housekeeping, phones didn’t work. Went to lobby and I got what I needed. My 28 year old son was going to sleep on the sofa bed. Plastic was still on the mattress and he said it was like laying on metal bars. Also only had a misfitted fitted sheet. No top sheet. Second night he just slept on the couch. Breakfast the first morning was okay. No complaints. Second morning it didn’t open until 7:30am. We had to be at a conference at 8 am. When they finally opened I went to get coffee and the machine said not available. My husband got milk. It was warm and sour. There were several people that had gotten cereal which went in the garbage with no milk. Very poorly run. I’m sure it’s a matter of a lack of employees but that doesn’t excuse the lack of efficiency for the price we paid.
My co-workers and I had a very bad experience at this hotel for a staff meeting held over the weekend. Our reservation was made over a week in advance and a projector for presentations was specifically requested during the reservation but at the time of the meeting there was no projector available. Hotel staff said it was stolen a week prior to our reservation and it had not been replaced yet which put our meeting behind by at least 40 minutes. The hotel provided a 55 tv for presentations eventually after a new tv was purchased by my company and was en route to the hotel. The hotel is nice visually but originzation among employees needs to be evaluated and corrected.
The hotel itself was beautiful but couldnt understand why we could not reserve an adjoining room since we were a family of 7. So we were given rooms right next to each other which was fine but one of the rooms had not been cleaned and no housekeeping there too clean it. We were told with all those rooms there they did not have any more rooms next to each other when there clearly were so we ended up being down the hall from one another....not really happy. All in all the suites were beautiful and staff very friendly and knowledgeable
Very Rude at the desk , Didn’t give me a refund and Told me I couldn’t come in right when I walked in because I had balloons assuming I had a party and it was just for pictures the day lady with the blonde and brown hair is really rude and miserable and have smart remarks I do not recommend
Woke to clogged toilet called person on duty knock at the door some black girl handed my wife a plunger my wife said what if we need to usethe restroom she told her we could use the one in the lobbyTotally unprofessional then i went and spoke to the attendant at desk who identified herself as the manager was told by her that this was not acceptable and she would have the gm call us to rectify the problem never received a call from GM....
Positive: The lobby design was beautiful. Suite size very generous. Coffee available 24/7! Negative: The location was not easy to get to. Far from Syracuse U (we thought we were going to your other property - my mistake). The bar staff was overwhelmed and the choices were very limited. We were willing to pay an upgrade to get a martini but no vermouth
Horrible stay- no AC, hair on beds, and it was 78 degrees in our room.We were traveling with a newborn and the first room we were placed in was right on the highway and was unbelievably bad. So we asked for one on the opposite end- that one then had black curly hairs all over the bed. So we were like alright- benefit of the doubt, let’s get another clean room. We get settled in and turned the air down because it was 72. We also closed the blinds because it was a sunny day…. 2 hours later, the room is now 78 degrees. We go downstairs and they were like oh ya… we can’t turn that on. Sorry. With a newborn baby- it’s UNHEALTHY to force them to sleep in high heat AND on top of that- still make the customer pay for it. They wouldn’t even offer us a discount. Worst hotel stay ever!
The reason was because of the front desk staff person named Mike. From the very moment I checked in, Mike was very professional, friendly and attentive. After checking in my room, upon leaving to grab a bite to eat, my room door would not lock, called the front desk and like Superman, Mike was there in a flash. I left because Mike said he would get it fixed. After returning to the hotel about an hour later, Mike stopped me and said they needed to put me in another room, they also neatly packed up all my belongings because they didn’t want to leave them in an unsecured room. Getting my new room key, I grabbed a few snacks from the hotel store, Mike said on the house for the trouble we put you through and also gave me a promotional code for the premium internet service. Mike want above and beyond to ensure my personal belongings were kept safe since the room could not be locked, he should be commended, it is because of the high quality service to customer from Mike is why I would return to this hotel with the added beatific of an awesome room suite and the breakfast has every desire you would ever need. Great Hotel, great staff, great location, safe parking, if I could give the Hotel 6 stars I would. And in closing Mike deserves a 10 star rating for his customer service. Thanks Mike for taking care of me, good things happen to good people, called Good Karma, and because of good karma I think the Hotel Management should recognize you in a positive and public way, you rock Mike, thanks again!
New decor not very welcoming - all chrome and steel - very cold feeling in the lobby. Wish breakfast went to a later time than 9am; we almost missed it after along day of traveling and needing some extra sleep. It may be due to covid but missing snacks and more variety at breakfast, e.g. skim milk would be nice. Not the same hotel we stayed out numerous times afew years ago. It was disappointing.
Our family had a 2 night stay here at the end of July 2021. This is a nice clean hotel, that from what I understand, has recently been remodeled, however, it lacks much of the modern amenities that can be found across town at Embassy Suites - Destinys USA. The rooms, especially the bathroom are significantly smaller without a walk in shower. The kitchenette and living area are also smaller. The surrounding area also lacks the views and things to do which can be found at Destiny. Once again, this is a nice hotel, but if youre looking for an Embassy in Syracuse, it is definitely the lesser of the 2 options.
As a Hilton Honors member, I have stayed at numerous properties over the years. I prefer Embassy Suites as a top tier Hilton property and I was sorely disappointed 😞 with this one. No housekeeping for a 3 night stay, managers reception was not up to par, cooked to order breakfast not available on the weekend, posted breakfast hours not adhered to. The on-site restaurant barely offered even bar food. I would have been better to stay at the Hampton down the road. I would have expected less.
Room was very dirty! Wood work throughout the room was dirty, scratched and dented up. Couch was stained up and filthy! Under the sleeper sofa had dirt and crumbs and past guests left behinditems. Mini refrigerator leaked water and was replaced with another non working refrigerator. The AC was on 64 and kept the temp at 75 because it shut on and off. I had to request a fan and they gave me a dirty dusty box fan that was in the housekeeper station to keep there door open. Bedding had long hairs stuck on them when we first arrived. Bathroom had mens hair from shaving all over the bathroom counter top. For a family of five only one set of shampoo and such items were there luckily we brought our own from home. No extra bedding or linen for sleeper sofa. Younger guests ran the hallways screaming and playing at late night hours 1am. The only one thing we liked about this place was the evening/night front desk receptionist.. She was perfect...... I actually cleaned the room better the day of check out then it was received at check in... never again!
The HVAC and thermostat in the rooms at this hotel create an extremely uncomfortable environment in the rooms for the guest, the thermostat is set to only turn on the heat and or a/c when motion is detected in the room, therefore when I arrived back to my room after a long day of being outdoors for work in 80+ degree weather I would return to a room that was 78 degrees because the A/C was not running all day and it would take 3-4 hours to cool the room down when I needed to be going right to sleep, similar would happen in the night when sleeping, the a/c would turn off due to no motion and the room would heat up until it woke me up due to being so warm. Additionally you where not able to leave the fan of the HVAC running which would have helped drowned out the loud vehicle traffic noise from the highway directly outside my bedroom window. I was finally after 2 days able to figure out how to override the eco friendly settings of the thermostat and get the a/c and fan to continue to run to make the room comfortable, only to find out that the thermostat was also remotely wirelessly controlled from I am assuming is the front desk to which they constantly changed the settings back to what they wanted multiple times in the middle of the night causing me to wake up, in fact my last night in the room they changed the settings back 8 times between 4 am and 8 am causing me to loose 4 hours of sleep due to the room heating up and the traffic noise. Also the front desk staff never told me about the complimentary breakfast or evening social when I checked in, I just happen to notice it when I was checking out while reviewing my reservation details. Also a co-worker of mine checked in to the same hotel a few days before I arrived and was given free vouchers for drinks for every single night of her stay at the hotel, I was given nothing.I have stayed 145 nights this year alone all at Hilton properties and this is the first one that I will NEVER return to and would be extremely hesitate to ever stay at a Embassy Suites anywhere again, in fact I had another stay booked at an embassy in Ohio and I will be cancelling that reservations and staying elsewhere.
Rooms are beautiful and clean. But some staff are disappointingly have no hospitality especially at check in. Very uncomfortable asking for help and seeking answers to my questions. Guy with glasses at front desk checking us in really didnt want to be there or cared we were on a special family night stay. Places inside hotel close way to early for food and drinks. Making hotel feel plain and vacant thru out evening
I have never felt so compelled to leave a positive review of an establishment and its employees!!!Aly, Mike and staff are all true professionals and are so unbelievably customer driven that they are an example of what to do for the rest of the hotels in this country!!A huge thank you from an over the road driver that appreciated being treated like family!!!! Also, the building and grounds are amazing to look at!!!
The room was not cleaned and now Im itching all over the place. The soap bar was more than halfway used, the bathroom was dirty and ceiling panel coming down. The closet had a blanket thrown in there and the iron was on the floor unwrapped. Which clearly shows the room was not properly cleaned. This is very bad reputation for a hilton property. I was refused a refund. I better not catch covid 19 from whoever was the previous person staying in that room. 😤
I wish I could give this place more than five stars. Ally at the front desk made our stay incredible from the first phone call. She was joyus, and so kind. When we checked in (in costume) she remembered us from the phone and made us feel so welcome. She also gave us one of her personal bath bombs for me to enjoy in the room she moved us to (Im pregnant so having a tub is so nice). The room was clean, quiet, and well taken care of. I will absolutely be back. Thank you for the perfect night away
I liked it though there was construction going on.. The best part what I loved was the staff at the bar counter.. they were energized and talking to people and getting everything what we needed..The GM of the hotel was around and said hi to the guests (i kind of needed to ask the staff to know who was she since she was greeting people without a name tag!).. I felt it as unusual, but could be due to the on-going construction.. the new built setup for bar and the food area was quite nice. Even the rooms were having 2 big TVs in both rooms which kind of made a nice setup. The lighting was awesome.. we liked the lights behind the mirror setup. Overall a very nice experience. I am giving 5 stars despite the construction hassle just because of the staff at bar & kitchen .. You guys made our day.. And thanks to the hotel GM for welcoming the guests..
At 4:40 in the afternoon, I mistakenly booked my hotel for the wrong night, I was on a different Embassy site and switched over to this one and it did not carry over the correct date. When I realized this morning that I had made the mistake, I called to request the change and make sure I was not going to be charged. They would change my reservation, but are going to charge me the no-show fee. By the way I am an Honors member! Guess there are few perks to that membership.
Stayed there for 4 nights during mid winter break with my child, was only able to use the pool one time due to a policy set by this hotel. The hotel only allowed anyone who stayed there 30 minute swim! They said it was a rule set by the county. Found that not to be true! Think twice if you are going to book this hotel for the pool! We were also supposed to receive complimentary drinks for Monday and Tuesday for an evening reception and never received them. The front desk staff was very cocky! The reason Im giving them three stars is because it was very clean and modernized and close to everything!
I spent 26 weeks at this hotel from 2016 through 2017. The staff were very welcoming. The rooms were clean. The amenities were awesome. I would advise guests to reserve a room on the first floor if possible and to make sure that your key card works on the first swipe. Otherwise, you might find yourself locked out of your room until the next morning.
They spent all this money on remodeling forgot one important thing a bar that can stay open past 7pm.... We are here for a wedding and their is also a motorcycle club everyone here has the same feeling we will never stay here again... Hilton SHAME ON YOU!!! No food no bar we should of stayed at Howard Jonhsons..... Its a saturday night and closed at 7pm... great retirement hotel but if your going for any fun this is not the place to stay....AC shut completely off while gone to reception the room is up to 78 degrees.... wedding discount stay 150.00 for nothing!!!
Staff was excellent! Room was clean, but not immaculate. The vents could use a deep clean, but the location was under renovation so I can be understanding. The only major flaw was the breakfast. It was awful! Tasted like frozen breakfast foods quickly reheated. French toast was hard and chewy. Sausage was rubbery. Not enjoyable. If youre looking for a cheap accommodation with wonderful staff, this would be my recommendation.
Had a great experience last night. Beds were very comfortable and our room was quiet. The happy hour with free drinks and food was great and complimentary snacks and drinks in our room! The breakfast was great as well with lots of choices and made to order omelettes. Everything was clean and the inner courtyard was very pretty. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is my boyfriend was stuck on the elevator between floors about five minutes and was in a bit of a panic!
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a nice size, quite spacious and very comfortable. The bed was comfortable, I slept well. Everything was very clean. It has a soothing ambience to it with a gently flowing stream bridges and walkways running the length of the hotel on the main floor. I also enjoyed the complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast in the morning. My only complaint is that the bathroom could have had better lighting. I had a very enjoyable stay. I plan to visit again.
The room itself was great. Dated shower but a very comfortable bed. Excellent, free happy hour snacks. We had late dinner at the bar French fries were great but my burger was way over done. One major problem was the location of my room (448) the left side of the hotel overlooks the interstate and it was extremely loud all night. Will be back in two weeks but will be selective id room location.
Im not sure if I want to go back to this hotel, maybe never. They used to have a Managers Reception at 7 pm where there was mixed nuts, chips, and other snacks items to eat late in the day. Well, there was nothing free at this reception except for soda pop, soda, or pop as in Coca Cola, Pepsi, etc. All food items were available but ... you have to pay for anything that you get. If youre staying here, bring and assortment of snacks if you want a little evening snack.
Had to make a quick overnight trip for a medical procedure and they offered a sanitized and covid safe experience in a very quiet hotel. However...Recently remodeled and theyve got some punch list items that definitely need to be completed/reviewed the management and the renovation company.A few of the more blatant items are:1.The tile in the shower had blue painters tape pointing at grout lines that need to be corrected and filled properly to prevent damage going forward.2. The glass showers doors still had the factory plastic corner protectors on them. Seems rushed not to remove something so simple.3.The light switches didnt turn any main lights on or off, so each light had to be turned on by hand and they still didnt do anything. However, the beautiful lighted mirrors did turn on and off.Luckily they provided sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer everywhere so I grabbed a couple before touching each fixture; just as a precaution.Obviously, 2020 has been weird and I get the 98% completion. So hopefully next visit will get those small details completed to 100%.
The location was good for me as it was conveniently very close to my destination the next morning. However, there is not much to do within walking distance from the hotel. The rooms were very clean and all furniture was in good condition. The ambiance of the lobby was nice as there were plants and stream all throughout the main hall. The food was very good, although another individual and myself waited about two hours before we got our food. We eventually took the food to go as we had a meeting shortly after receiving our meals.
A FANTASTIC hotel experience. Yes, theyre renovating but I heard no noises or disturbances in the evening while I was there, and only minimal noise during very reasonable working hours. The suite was well appointed, extremely clean, and very comfortable. Front desk staff were all friendly and helpful. My only critique, and it is very minor, is that I might like more channel options on the cable tv. Would definitely return to this hotel.
The hotel was only 3 stars in my book. Was a nice layout inside! The water and landscape was nice and relaxing but they up charge the food and drinks in the lobby area. Our door would not close the hole way.The lamp in the room didnt work. Can hear the highway in the bedroom.Pool was cold one night but warm a different night so that sucked.Bar and restaurant have odd hours.Other then that its a nice looking place but thats about it... oh the hotel house keeping dont speak English so its hard to understand.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. It had a wonderful atrium and was open inside. The staff was friendly and helpful (and even accommodated my friends and I to give us rooms next to each other). The pool and fitness room were nice. My biggest issue was that breakfast was an hour and a half late and I was unable to eat before my wedding, free alcohol the night before was a fair trade though.
Very nice, clean rooms, and a great breakfast. It could be a little noisy because of the setup of all the rooms facing into the lobby, but it wasnt that bad. Also, I was in a room facing the highway and it wasnt very loud at all! I loved the made to order breakfast as well. My kids were very energetic from being stuck in a car all day, and the lobby area was a lot of fun for them to explore, and no one minded them acting like children, which sometimes I have run into (the whole children should be seen and not heard thing).
Disappointed with all of the construction going on, pool was closed as well as lobby. Difficult finding the entrance to check in. Not loving the new motif, always enjoyed the atrium aspect of it with the running stream and lush greenery. Also area where they store hair dryer in room is very dangerous. Instead of putting hinges on it they just used magnets, lets say Im glad my toes didnt get it when I opened it up. Yes, rooms were at a discounted price, but should have been more for all the inconveniences....just getting in was more work than it should have been.
This has been a lovely hotel. A little bit of a different feel from most, with quite an elaborate lobby and first floor. The restaurant was great, the gym is acceptable, theres a pool with a hot tub and a cute little pool area that is very clean. The one thing that I would have liked was a more up-to-date room, but the room was still nice. The bed was very comfortable, ample space in the suite, and a clean bathroom.
Great breakfast! Beautiful layout with a huge interior garden with koi fish. Our room had a king bed in a private room with a lockable door which was great for privacy from the kids who stayed on the sleeper sofa. Pool and hot tub were nice and the fitness room was bright with lots of sunlight. Excellent staff. We will stay here again next time we visit the area!
They hotel was good overall but a little old and could use some updating. Had an issue with the room and bedding being a bit dirty and housekeeping not coming to clean two days in a row even after reminders. I will say that the manager at the front desk did take prompt action on the second day of missing the cleaning and helped make it right for me.
Loved the evening reception and complimentary breakfast associated with the package for our room. Appreciated the complimentary snacks and drinks also made available. The pool was full of children and that made it hard to enjoy. The facilities otherwise were really beautiful. The room should have been more thoroughly inspected after cleaning since it met most basic standards, but I feel that the suite we were in should have lined up to a higher standard.
Overall room was nice. Comfortable. Bed was great with extra bedding in the wardrobe. Couch was also a pull out bed for extra sleep space. Furnishings were great. Only complaint was the bathroom was so small. Barley enough room for one adult. Breakfast was nice but some foods were not readily prepared and had to wait in a huge line just for bacon! Waited 20 minutes only to find they had run out and wait another 20 for more to come out already cooked. Bacon was overcooked and disappointing after a long wait.
Worst $hi****le hotel ever. Paid $150 for 2 king size beds each as I had an infant baby and my parents. Told them will be checking in late. Upon arrival found out they had moved my rooms to 2 Queen beds. They were not even courteous to keep the rooms on the same floor. The front desk lady didn’t seem to care and told us all gold and diamond star members can override our bookings so we were downgraded. We had travelled hours to get there. A motel would serve you better. Never booking here again...
We stayed at the hotel with my in-laws and planned on sleeping on the pull out. Unsurprisingly, it wasnt very comfortable (more likely just from being a pull out) so we ended up sleeping on an air mattress. The room was overall comfortable. Everything was clean and the water pressure was good in the bathroom. The free breakfast was out of a lot but its hard to complain about free. The hotel was a little dated but overall I would recommend it.
While staying at the Embassy Suites off Carrier Circle in Syracuse NY the staff was very helpful and went out of there way to meet all my accommodations while supporting the COVID 19 Pandemic. Your staff and facility was amazing during my stay. I truly appreciate all your support while I was away from family and all your kindness when they came to visit. Thank you again for everything! RespectfullyMSG Fallon NYARNG
BEWARE!!!!! Room was dusty upon arrival. Was only given 2 towels and no washcloths for 3 guest. When asked the front desk for wash cloths we were given green cleaning rags that the hotel uses to clean with so ended up having to buy some. Before leaving I cleaned the whole room and even took out my own trash the night before.. just to notice my card was charged an extra 120 plus the 200 dollar deposit the hotel required causing my account to overdraft. Called to get the situation rectified and was told the room was trashed by the general manager. Which is not true at all. Then was told to call back the following morning but after about an hour I noticed my money was refunded. Glad it was refunded but I will definitely take pictures upon entering and departing all hotels from now on...
Love this hotel. The staff is very friendly and quick to accommodate any requests. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great for a free breakfast. There are managers receptions every night with free drinks and food. While I didnt make it to one, it sounded like they were having a blast. The hotel was quiet again before 9 pm. Ive stayed in the area several times now and this is my favorite hotel so far.
Have spent the last few years making trips with my family throughout various hotel chains and without a doubt this is one of the FEW that have encouraged me to write such a thorough review.Currently staying here for the weekend (Fri-Sun). I have to let you know this place has been remodeled, some of the pictures are inaccurate, but thats okay! This place is AMAZING, truly beautiful, and is by far fancy to any standard, theyre really taking the social distancing stuff serious, really this building and its staff is setting the gold standard for hotel policies during this era.The bar is missing fresh fruit and anything that could potentially put your health at risk, but the bartender was friendly and very knowledgeable of the area and actually helped us determine our plans for our kids upon checkout/on the way home by recommending a local petting zoo.The pool is by reservation only, which in my opinion is wonderful, the entire pool room to yourself and your party/family (up to 10) to yourself. Finally I have to let you all know, if by chance Ally or Teela are the ones working the front desk, YOURE IN LUCK, they are hands down the best and most personable staff I have met in the last few years of travelling. Whenever we travel, its with 3 children and a toddler and believe me when i tell you, this ladies will take care of ANY and all requests without making you feel like youre a burden. Need some cups and straws at 1 am? Teela has you covered. Need some spares plates and silverware? YOU GOT IT, Ally kept a few in the back for just such an occasion.Trust me when i say if you are travelling with kids or just family in general, this is THE hotel to stay at in this area. Its truly home away from home.
Booked the Dinosaur BBQ package and none of the staff even knew what it was. Evening staff told me the the hotel and Hilton Honors knew nothing about the package that they sold me. I have to show the front desk that they do offer the package, she then stated she never heard of such a thing. The manager reception was a complete joke. Had the reception in their restaurant which was very small and unable to accommodate the number of guests that attended. Only one bartender working which made getting drinks very slow. Draft beer system was not working properly not to mention the bartender had to walk to the other end of he bar to pour a beer. Kids running around, crying, pushing their way through people. The room was average but being on the north side we had the privilege the hearing the traffic throughout the night. Overall this is the worst Embassy Suites we have very stayed at.
Hotel was under renovation but that did not stop the level of service or in room cleanliness. Hotel is very large with many rooms and on a busy weekend this staff rocked it out everything cleaned up very quickly after the breakfast and evening service. Absolutely would stay again!
I am a proud Hilton Honors Member, and this hotel made the Hilton brand look horrible! Especially for it being such a prestige name like Embassy suites.Lets begin with the fact that the hotel chose to stay open under such a huge renovation period. Money was clearly more important than the comfort of Guests. As you enter the front lobby, the aroma of demolition was very unwelcoming. It was dark, and tarp was covering parts of the hotel everywhere. It was just extremely depressing. When you enter the elevator and look through the window at the other side of the hotel, all you could see is construction and the entire area in dust and concrete .My room was so old. My boyfriend and I had to change rooms because the sheets were dirty. The next room wasnt any better because the bathtub was dirty. The sofa had stains on it. The ceiling had mold. The carpet just looked old and ruggedMy boyfriend and I checked out the next morning before 8am because we were so uncomfortable. To be honest, even after this hotel is renovated, i will never stay there again.
The renovation turned out beautiful! I love the rooms they have those beautiful pictures of Syracuse New York. Great thing about it is they actually do time clocks the families for the pool to comply with the covid. No hot breakfast but you can get one in a bag to go back to your room.
Staff was great. It ends there. Hilton embassy suites web page says some adjustments because of covid. Breakfast was horrible a prepackaged box with a orange, apple juice, bagle (no toaster) 2 hard boiled rubbery eggs and a watery yogurt very low quality worst than a school breakfast. No managers happy hour web makes you think the only changes are using disposable plates and sliver, But what has made embassy suites worth going to was not there. I paid what I have always. If I had known it was going to be like that I would have stayed at homewood suites and had a kitchen for close to the same price. Boo on you hilton, many ways you could handle covid without taking away what makes embassy suites a go to hotel
While being a bit outdated, the stay wasnt bad. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Only gripe was no free coffee. First hotel stay where Ive had to pay for it. Restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was great. Would stay again.
Beautiful place to stay. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and comfortable. They had a complimentary open bar the evening we were there, as well as a breakfast, and they go above and beyond. Not just your ordinary complimentary foods, a chef was preparing omelets made to order. Very impressed everything. Definitely the place to stay in Syracuse. We will be back.
We really enjoyed our stay at Embassy suites, the courtyard was amazing with the feeling of being outside but the comfort of being inside. The staff was very kind and courteous, really nice rooms. The restaurant was great quality and nice selection of meals. I would highly recommend this hotel to any normal person looking for a great comfortable place to stay.
The good: Reception every evening (free drinks and snacks), good to great breakfast, nice little man made stream in the middle of hotel, indoor pool (didnt use). The bad: Rooms feel very outdated, HVAC doesnt work (stayed in multiple rooms), can hear all the traffic on North facing rooms... Windows must be very thin, shower pressure varies with how leaky the bottom spigot is, house keeping skips some days, house keeping doesnt clean thoroughly always, lose power outlets. The ugly: Rooms are dim and do not have a clean feel to them... Probably due to the dark color palette, old feeling and looking lights and couches
Room was great. The comforter had a stain on it but Im not going to throw a fit about it and we didnt have conditioner but nothing major. The bar service was horrible though. They only had one bartender and she mustve been having a bad night, which I get, but you should still treat your patrons with respect and not be huffy and not tell them what you offer nor offer a drink menu. There were also a ton of children running through the halls and lobby unattended despite the numerous signs in the room and throughout halls and lobby about 18 and under needing to be accompanied by adult at all times. Morning breakfast was okay but they ran out of both carffes of coffee and only had decaf, it was never refilled while we ate so we made our coffee in the room. All in all, it was decent, I would return but for the price, I would of like some things payed more attention too.
One night stay here left me staying disappointed. First time I could say that after staying at Embassy Suites for years. Room was overall very clean, and was the highlight of the stay. As I was winding down for the night, someone knocked on the door twice before I answered (do not disturb sign was on the door). When I opened the door, he did not identify himself and handed me a menu with no contact information on it or what restaurant it was for. I let the front desk know and they stated they had never heard of that happening before. At breakfast, there was 1 plate left, which was in the clean plate area, but was clearly dirty and off putting. The staff was rude when I asked for additional clean plates.Hotel is dimly lit and outdated compared to other Embassy Suites. I will not be staying at this location next time i am in the area.
Front desk staff is very kind and helpful. Hotel is beautiful inside and very accommodating. The rooms were nice and clean, but the beds were really small. It helped that there was a bed in the sofa, so that everyone was still comfortable and had their own space. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the area. This is the only hotel I would be comfortable staying during any future stays in Syracuse.
We stayed here with our 3 children for a nearby family party over the weekend. We arrived early on a Friday after an 18 hour drive, and the hotel and staff were awesome in working with us to check in early (noon). They also did a great job at our request with being in adjoining or nearby rooms to other family members. We loved the appearance of the hotel and the rooms, although slightly dated, were overall very nice. The kids loved the pool but it did get very busy there on Saturday night but that was not the problem. The problem we observed was the lack of parental supervision in place with the children that were running wild all over the hotel and pool area! The breakfast that was included was also very good, but again it did get very busy on Sunday morning and staff had a difficult time keeping up with the amount of people that were being served. The problems we observed during breakfast had nothing to do with the hotel or its staff- it was again lack of parental supervision with young children running all over and making messes at the different beverage and food counters. We also were in line for the buffet line when you enter the breakfast area with about 3 people behind us. We had 2 adults (in their 40s) who had already been eating that came up from their table with their plates and cut right in front of our 12, 9, and 6 year old and started helping themselves to more food. I guess it did not take much to put 2 and 2 together and later learned these were parents of some of the wild kids running around. Anyway, our poor experiences were with other guests and their lack of manners and parental skills. We would for sure stay at this hotel again when we come back to the area.
Our room was fine, which allowed for 2 stars. However, the first floor common areas were filthy. Floors needed vacuuming everywhere. The worst was the breakfast buffet...unbussed tables everywhere, overflowing with dirty dishes and garbage. The food wasnt hot and I left with very real concerns about somebody getting food poisoning. It was the dirtiest nicer hotel Ive ever stayed in.
Beautiful hotel, very well maintained. Furnishings are modern and up to date. The evening reception is a very nice perk. The cooked to order breakfast was excellent. The cook went out of his way to prepare our daughters breakfast. She has celiac disease and he prepared her food in a different area to avoid any contamination. Considering how busy they...
Had an awful stay with the family. AC stops working at 4am.they bring a fan which is loud as hell. Couldnt sleep after that. Mattress was soft and springy. Cold shower as the hot water didnt work. Breakfast was absolutely awful. Cold, disorganized, overheard a lot of people complaining. The lady at the front desk did not apologize AT All for the trouble I went through, even though they refunded my money. Will never stay here again. Awful place!
One night at a suite cost me $140. Great service but bad maintenance and pretty loud. Nice interior but because of the structure of the building, every sound echoes and the rooms are not sound proof. I found bunch of hair on the shower curtain. But they are the only one to offer shuttle service at any time although my driver was 15 min late. Probably would not have stayed here if they did not have the shuttle service.
Furniture is a little vintage, but everything was great. The people were so nice. Food was good and the lobby was a nice food and entertainment area. Our room was like a studio apartment - with electric fireplace and jacuzzi tub - it was great! Staff helped us with local things and got cabs for us.
Currently going through a remodel. When I first arrived the whole lobby was closed to construction. This can be kinda confusing as the only entrance is a small, and poorly located construction entrance. The newly remodeled rooms were nice but the baseboards appeared old. Not sure why you would remodel the whole room and put the old baseboards in. The new atrium is nice as well. Overall besides the construction, it was a good stay as always at hilton.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.. 1) arrived at 350pm- was told I booked a handicap room - that was a lie.2) placed me in a room with the air conditioning unit right outside the bedroom window3)3rd room was dusty and dirty .. stains on the carpet and walls..they are under construction but that is no excuse for lacking housekeeping. The walls are thin as we heard our neighbors music till 530am. And moaning afterwards.. this hotel is not worth my hard earning money..
This hotel was very nice. Court yard was beautiful. There were some downfalls. The pool was too cold to use. The hotel was filled with cheerleaders for a competition so it was very loud. The air conditioning in the room was broken. The hotel staff was very accommodating and tried to resolve any issues.
Wish I could give 5 stars. Ive stayed here a lot. Like 20 times in the last two years. The rooms are big and a little out dated but nice. However, my last stay I couldnt get my room below 80 degrees. It was in the low 60s outside and I had to open the window and prop the door open to get even a small breeze going in there. Also, for some reason my awesome shuttle driver did not work there any longer. The new lady didnt even get out to offer to help me sort out where to put my bags in the full back of the van. I think the double tree down the road will be getting my business next time.
Upon arrival the hotel was under construction, but we were aware of this prior to booking. We asked for a updated room and were initially told yes, but then that they didn’t have any. We explained our frustration and explained we were Hilton Honors members. Evale the front clerk obtained assistance from the manager, Abby and they were more than accommodating to assist us in our request. The updated rooms are very nice and when the hotel is completed, it will be beautiful. The hotel would certainly benefit from a walk through of the fine details when the work is completed as the new room we stayed in lacked attention to detail as the wallpaper was already bubbling and some grout was missing from the bathroom tile. Overall, Evale and Abby had excellent service recovery and should be recognized.
First time staying here and will be the last time as well. What a joke . Ac does not work in the entire building , elevator is broke , pool is closed and no manager on staff for all the problems. The staff does not speak English and my garbage in my room was not taken out the entire stay even though I went to the front office and tried to communicate with the cleaning staff to get rid of it . Mind you I had family here to visit myself my daughter and my spouse so the garbage added up. This is supposed to be a upscale place but clearly Id been better off staying g at a motel8 at this rate with the way things are ran!! Theonly positive upside was the front desk staff are extremely courteous and well mannered.
The hotel is really lovely and this was a return trip. They offer an amazing Managers Reception in the evening, where snacks like cheese, crackers, chips, salsa, veggies, and dip are provided. They also offer beer and wine. THIS IS ALL FREE!They also offer a fantastic breakfast. There is a delicious hot buffet, made to order eggs and pancakes, cold cereal and muffins, coffee and juices. ALSO ALL FREE!The problems arose when not one staff member (including the food and beverage manager) could show me the ingredients in the white bread they were serving. When traveling with my son who has food allergies, I bring his own food. However, he really wanted toast for breakfast. I wanted to see the original packaging so I could see if this bread had a may contain warning. No ingredient list could be found as the bread arrived in cellophane packaging with no writing on it. It took 10-20 minutes for the staff even to find the Food and Beverage Manager. It took an additional 10 minutes for him to locate a digital ingredient list on his phone. The bread was safe, but by this time had eaten the food we brought and no longer wanted toast. I was surprised that the Food and Beverage Manager said that being able to offer guests ingredient lists had never crossed his mind. He thanked me for bringing it to his attention. I had, erroneously, assumed that all Embassy Suites would have certain standards in common. The other problem was that the suite offered a sleeper sofa which we intended to use. Well, it was broken. The metal frame was snapped in one spot causing the mattress to sag. I drew the short straw and slept there. So, if you are traveling with children with food allergies, I would contact them ahead of time, and check all the beds before it is too late to get a new room.
Posting specifically for the rude blonde middle aged Karen behind the desk that laughs at you when you ask for anything. The creamer for the coffee was so funky that it was like curdled cottage cheese. Wouldve let the giant clipped hunk of toenail the last guests left on the carpet slide too but Im feeling pretty petty about the whole experience. Dont let the lysol sanitized stickers trick you either the paper products are kept over from the last guests.
Arrived to being informed key cards were not working checked in and then had to wait to get into my room on the 3rd floor (306) halfway through the night toilet started running and did not stop until the following morning. Woke up to no hot water but was restored a few hours later. Pool was small and ice cold on the plus side had a pretty decent breakfast though
Only stayed there one night, but, the room and hotel was great. I wish I had stayed longer. The open interior was beautiful. The gym offered so much more than most hotels and the room was big. comfy, and felt like home. Breakfast was fantastic for a buffet style. And the hotel staff was definitely very helpful and friendly. Never kept me waiting. Hopefully, I can stay there again and longer. Definitely recommend if staying in the area.
The experience at this hotel was terrible. We tried to eat a decent meal at the Grille and it took over 30mins to get my appetizer. The waiter didnt even provide plates to share the appetizer. For my main course I ordered crab cakes with asparagus. I took a pic to post but this review does not allow me to post pics. The asparagus looked like grass. My husband ordered a Long Island Ice Tea and the charge was $24.00. I do not recommend this restaurant or hotel. I will never come back.
Really nice atrium area, reminds of something youd see in the Caribbean. The breakfast bar has good food but is a bit understaffed. It might be because the grill area for omelettes and hot food is too small for the volume of food being ordered. The room is nice and kept clean but the furniture, especially the fold out couch, is a bit ragged. Overall though, a nice hotel.
We took our kids there this weekend for a staycation as we are local and I have to say I was disappointed with the pool/ hot tub experience. The whole reason for going was the pool and the room was not heated and the water was cold. Everyone in and around the pool was complaining about it. To make matters worse the hot tub was closed for maintenance so there was no way to warm up. The kids spent tops 20 mins in the pool before they couldnt stand it. It defeated the purpose of the stay. The rooms were large, but the furniture was old and stained. The room service was fairly good for most meals but charging $8.00 for what seemed to be easy mac that was flavorless was a bit much. The best part of the whole stay was the complimentary happy hour that they have for guests. The food was great and who can disagree with free drinks. Overall, it was an okay stay but they need to work on making the pool area more enjoyable.
First time back in 6 years...and nothing has changed. Rooms are clean and housekeeping is great. Always love the complementary breakfast and afternoon reception. Starting to fray around the edges though with AC not working in many rooms, and noisy freeway for half the rooms.
Front desk staff was amazing, ESPECIALLY Jay (Im probably spelling her name incorrectly, but she is a treasure!)...even the relatively extensive construction remodeling going on was very well organized, and not obtrusive at all. King suite was very well appointed, very clean, and beyond relaxing! Wish we hadnt missed the daily manager reception! Will will definitely be back.
A place of former grace. This hotel could use better maintance and a some renovations. The center is a beautiful combination of plants, many plastic but some real. The rooms furnishing were very worn. The couch is basically threadbare the arms were worn. The mattress had no support a mushy lumpy mess but the linens were clean. The pool was my biggest concern. With green growths on the stairs and obvious staining on the bottom it has not been maintained at all. To me the filter want not even on as there was a large amount of debris floating in the water. Breakfast was average on par with most but hotels. They did not offer the omelet station they advertise as an embassy experience. Staff was nice. Fire alarm was broken and so was the tub stopper. Room faintly smelled of smoke even tho I booked non smoking. Overall a sub par experience. I would not book again.
Hotel is pretty dated - it could use a major renovation. The thermostat didnt work properly - which resulted in a very uncomfortable one night stay. The breakfast wasnt on par with other Embassy Suites that Ive stayed in. The fitness area lacked sanitation wipes so you couldnt wipe down the equipment after use.The hotel personnel were very nice and helpful, so my experience wasnt completely bad.
Its a really nice place. Extremely nice. The 2 stars come off due to the fact that there were so many non guests, floating around in the pool area. It would seem that there are people who make a habit of sneaking in and swimming. The hot tub was inaccessible, but with the color of the water, Im not sure that was a bad thing.
Disappointing. This hotel was a bargain when comparing to others in area and now I know why. It is very worn. It has a nice atmosphere internally but is not comparable to other Embassys. We asked for additional towels in person because we had 4 people registered in room and only 3 sets. They never came and it was too late to deal with. To their credit I mentioned this next morning and they discounted at checked out. Sounded like they did for others also. Wouldnt come back here again. Passing thru at end of road trip and going to another Hilton. Really deserved 2 stars but it was lower price so I accepted it.
Checked in August 31, 2018, with three other family members. The lobby is gorgeous and the staff so far are friendly and helpful and polite. The rooms are even more beautiful. Spacious sweet with all amenities needed. A TV in living room and main room. All the small details are great. The charging ports on the lamps ( so smart ). A separate charging port. Lots of plugs. The bathroom is just as lovely. Many towels. The small amenities of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, put our for use is such a nice touch. So far the bed in main room is quite comfortable for my mom. The sofa bed is ok.The area with the cute coffee maker and the nice sized refrigerator and the microwave is absolutely adorable. That whole section made my mom very happy. She loves her coffee so thanks for that. Alot more to express and we are here until Labor Day. The pool is our next experience and Im sure it will be awesome! Looking forward to rest of our stay. So far so good! Thanks for awesome experience just in one day.
Room setup was nice with a sitting room. But most everything needs to be updated. Breakfast was more like waiting in a line and the food was sub par. The little freezer portion for the mini fridge couldnt keep anything frozen. One of the elevators took 5 minutes to go up 4 floors which was quite strange. But the staff is super friendly and the price is good. Cars on the Thruway can be a bit loud as it is very close. Recommend the Byrne Dairy ice cream sandwiches from the mini shop.
This it the best hotel I have stayed at in my life so far. I live in syracuse and once every couple months i go there just so get away from my home and to have fun. The pool is outstanding and very well kept and clean and you can clearly tell that it is. The hot tub was outstanding also and also very well kept and could clearly tell it was clean. The complimentary breakfast is an awesome start to my day with free hot and cold foods. Clearly a five star hotel, affordable and not over priced for what you get! so happy with there hotels!!! The rooms were also neat and clean loved the beds so cozy
If youre looking to book a hotel with outright rude hotel staff, outdated rooms, and unsanitary pool conditions then look no further. We decided to book 2 rooms for my daughters birthday party so she could have a sleep over with a few of her friends and enjoy the hotels pool facilities. When booking, I asked if it would be alright if we had a small pizza and cake celebration at the hotel somewhere. The person I talked to told me I could host this at the dining area or the pavilion if the pavilion wasnt being used. As soon as our pizza arrived and we sat at a table, a staff member named Nancy rushed over and told us we couldnt have our pizza in the dining area and then asked if we had permission. I told her that we had already asked before booking but that we would do the cake celebration in the room if it was going to be a distraction. Our party consisted of 7 people and there was only 1 other family within the entire area. Nancy rushed over to the phone when we told her this and began to glare at us while she talked to her manager. When finished, she rushed back and told us that there was a managers reception in an hour and had us move everything to the pavilion. This was the most rude and unprofessional encounter Ive had with any staff member before. She did not attempt to accommodate paying guests and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for the rest of my daughters birthday.Next, our room aesthetically was nice, but appliances were quite outdated. Our A/C unit in the room had to be serviced because it was not blowing out cold air and I noticed this is a repeating trend in other reviews. The channels in both the living room and bedroom were cutting in and out saying No Service. The pool was probably the worst part of our stay. The water in the pool was disgusting. The water was so filthy that you couldnt even see peoples legs that were standing in the pool.In the future I will be spending my $120 per room at a hotel that is more accommodating to its customers and takes pride in the upkeep of their facility.
The room was awesome. I loved that it was split into two sections, bedroom and living room. Each had its own TV. Unfortunately the TV in the bedroom had a horrible signal, so there were limited channels that came in clearly, but the living room was fine. They also had an open bar cocktail hour with hors doeuvre that was fun. The food in the restaurant was excellent. All of the staff were very polite and helpful.
The swimming pool is cold, my kids only last 10 minutes in there, the snack bar is empty with just one bottle of water. The heater doesnt work, the room is very cold. When we ask for someone to fix it, nothing changed, so we all hide under the blanket. You could easily heard other people talking from other room. I stayed in others Embassy suites many times before and this is the worst one. I am not sure I want to come back here. Very bad experience
Stayed here for 2 nights in February with 3 other coworkers. The HVAC system was broken, so our rooms were way too hot to be able to sleep. Nothing the hotel was able to do. We had a 4 hour drive the next day so it wasnt fun. Also, the floors in the lobby were slippery due to humidity to the point where they werent safe to walk on.Decided to give it another shot since its so close to the business Im visiting. Went to the gym, and found out that the one treadmill they have is out of order, and two ellipticals are being used.Pros is that is has good breakfast buffet and made to order omelettes. There is also an afternoon snack / drinks thing going on if youre into that.
We were excited to stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, we did like it very much. The tub was dirty and stained, the TV didnt work, the mattress was not comfortable, the AC didnt work and the general look of the place was a bit run down and somewhat dirty. We were there with a number of other people and they reported similar experiences.
My wife and I stayed a night for a Syracuse basketball game, we loved this hotel. Clean, pleasant employees, a real good breakfast (included) and a nice managers special in the early evening including free booze (albeit limited it was nice). The ONLY drawback was seating was tough to find during breakfast and the managers special and if going to a basketball/football game at the dome, it isnt real close. But aside from these minor issues, it was quite nice!
I had previously stayed here in June of 17 and it was absolutely amazing! That is why I chose to book a room block here for my Wedding. It was one of the worst decisions I couldve made. I blocked 13 rooms and filled all of them. I had also planned a send off breakfast for the morning after my wedding for 35 people... The breakfast had to be cancelled that morning! Almost all of my guests had issues with their rooms. 3 guests rooms had no AC (it was the end of August and 87° the day of my wedding) 2 other guests had to be given different rooms because of issues. 1 guest had no curtains and no couch cushions in her room! Another had gaping holes in the wall. When we went to the front desk they assured us that they were sorry and everything would be handled, but it took hours to get the guests set up in new rooms. Some of them got their rooms for free, some got a $10 discount for having no AC and some got nothing even after speaking to the front desk about the issues. The next morning people started to show up for the breakfast and there was nothing set up, no space for people to sit, the woman at the front desk said the catering manager is off on the weekends and hadnt left any instructions for the catering team that there was a party of 35 for breakfast. I had set this all up months before and had a signed contract! I was overcharged on my room after all of it. It was only $10 so I didnt even fight it, but still. Almost all 13 rooms had some issue. I will never return and every one of my 20+ guests said the same thing. I felt terrible spending the entire night of and day after my wedding apologizing to my guests for everything that had gone wrong. After everything I reached out to their corporate office and received an email from the general manager saying I was told that they were going to be renovating (I was not told this) and that everything I had an issue with was all part of their renovations
On the plus side, nice, friendly & helpful staff. The free breakfast & evening cocktail event were a great touch. On the minus side, no working fan in the bathrooms. Our cable TV went down for a while and our heating/air conditioning went down & needed to be worked on.
Been here twice on vacation. Rooms and beds very comfortable. The main issues are this. The first time we stayed here the fire alarms kept going off. Nine months later came back, we have family that lives close. The air conditioner was off. I will say management supplied us with a fan. Also again like before the hire alarms kept going off. Last time I will stay here.
Great staff, lunch and food was excellent, but conference room was dark and the hotel itself could use some color and interest. The plants are beautiful and the floors are great but everything else is a pinkish tan color ask the way to to the skylit Windows. Lovely space just needs some sprucing up
I had been to this hotel years (and years) ago. Im not sure how old it is, but over 20. It is a nice hotel, but could use some updating. The bathroom light was very yellow and dim, so hard to apply makeup (attending a Wedding). Our room had a loud click/boom sound when the air? kicked on. The toilet was leaking some and left a wet spot on the floor. We were also located next to the stairwell so we could hear kids stomping up and down until about 10pm and the pool was packed full of kids - maybe a party? I dont think they were quite prepared for the amount of guests attending the breakfast on the Sunday morning we were there - hard to keep up on the buffet line and ran out of silverware. From the interaction I had with staff, they seemed friendly. Its in a part of town that is easy to access any point around Syracuse. Overall, this is a solid hotel - Ive had worse, Ive had better. Just needs a little TLC.
This is supposed to be an upscale establishment and was at one point. We stay here several times a year. I will not be returning because of the poor service, decrease in amenities, and disregard for Hilton honor members with elite status. I can tell there has been a change in management. At breakfast there were no eggs because there were none ordered. Happy hour was terrible because they didnt have beer, ran out of vodka, the beer tap was left warm, and there wasnt olives. They said they werent allowed to order them. The snacks were decreased and pretzels and mustard was offered. As a Hilton honor member there was drinks and snacks in the room and was refilled daily. This has come to a stop. The staff in the kitchen couldnt understand English and I had to tell someone where the forks were. Im highly disappointed and wont return.
Rooms were not clean and furniture was old/beat up. Sleep was impossible. The thermostat in the rooms was set to fan only. On conversation with the front desk, the air conditioning system had not been switched on yet. The best they could offer was to open the window. However the traffic noise was so loud there was no sleeping with the window open. They could not even offer another room away from the traffic. As a business traveler, I do not recommend this place if you want to be able to sleep.
The staff was great, but refused to enforce certain policies they had in place. The room was fine, except there were lights that didnt work, the televisions restrict usage too much, and things were missing from my room like the hair dryer and staff didnt seem to care. The WiFi was also horrible, I used all my data on my phone just trying to connect to it during my stay.
We booked an overnight stay specifically for a birthday party for my niece, who was turning 4. When I booked the hotel at least a month in advance I was told that there would be a pool for the kids to swim at. I SPECIFICALLY asked about the pool bc that was the main reason for our stay. When we arrived the evening of the party we were told that the pool and the hot tub were not usable do to renovations. The receptionist told us that we should call the hotel down the road to see if they had an availability. There were no apologies and we were even asked if we called the right hotel when booking. Yes, we most definitely did and no we most definitely were NOT told about the pool not being in use during this time, even after I specifically asked the person over the phone if the pool would be usable bc of the party! We ended up having to book at the double tree with all the kids and two adults in 1 single king size bed bc that’s all they had available. Needless to say it was a horrible experience.
My experience with Embassy Suites Syracuse was very positive. The facilities were more than adequate. The rooms were spacious and clean. The registration desk made for quick arrival and departure. I was attending a seminar and the food we asked for was delicious. The staff were pleasant and very accommodating. A personal mention goes out to Chris a waiter and buffet attendant. He was very personable, caring and sweet. The only drawback was that not both elevators functioned for such a large group over the weekend. Thank you for overall wonderful experience.
I was in Syracuse multiple times a month in 2018 staying for one night each time so I am trying different hotels. The Embassy Suite near the airport had a decent rate so I booked it. The reception was nice and the lobby looked good.My first sign something was amiss was when I got on the elevator to see someone had broken off pieces of the emergency warning to spell different words. Aside from this being a safety hazard due to the warning being changed by the vandals but management should have already replaced that so that no one is at risk.Once I got to the room it was the standard Embassy Suite room with the sitting area in the front in the bedroom in the back. The first thing I noticed was the room was about 80° and the AC was not turned on. After a couple of hours the room cooled off enough that I could sleep. The second item I noticed was the furniture is the dark wood that was popular in the late 90s. The furniture in my room was well worn and needed to be replaced. The next item I noticed was the carpet that stuck to my feet as I walked through the room. I could not tell if it was something on the carpet or the carpet itself. The bathroom had upgraded marble floor and sink but the tile in the shower was old but it was clean. The most frustrating thing was the vent in the bedroom that had multiple months of dust built-up to the point that dust blew out when the AC unit came on. I wiped the vent down but it needed significant cleaning which may require taking it off the wall and washing it off. This property has plenty of competition in the immediate area that provide a better value for the dollar. Time for management to step up to stay in the game.
Rooms were decent size, not a fan of the open concept to the common space below, as breakfast set-up got loud. Staff were friendly, except when we brought our take out dinner to seating area at the back of the hotel, and a staff member told us that we should only be eating their own restaurants food (although we were nowhere near their restaurant in the front of hotel).
This is by far the worst embassy suites Ive stayed at. My husband is a Hilton honors member so we stay at embassy suites as much as possible. Wish I would have stayed at the new one near the mall. Rooms are outdated with paper thin walls (heard the highway all night and my neighbors conversation) and the breakfast... well they messed it up the first time so I took it back got attitude from the cook (watched him throw away 2 more Omlettes from customers) and then still messed it up the second time. Didnt bother taking it back. All the tables around me at breakfast were complaining that their orders were not right or the hotel was just eh. Will not be back and will not recommend. Only stayed here because they offered government rate.
I will not be back at this location. As an Hhonors member Id expect an update on the change of rules and regulations prior to my stay. Ive been here several times and have always been able to have guests come and visit as well as get in the pool. We were NOT having a party (which according to new rules there are no birthday parties, etc). Not to mention theres new hot tub rules? A lot of money for a lot of nothing if my kids cant enjoy their time and family cant come and visit as they have been able to each time Ive been here. Needless to say, Im pretty disappointed in this service.
It needs to be cleaned better! There was hair in the shower. The pool area is a hot mess! Used towels everywhere no clean towels at all! The staff in the pool area took my seat as I was sitting and said it was theirs! I felt that as a paying guest the least they could do was let me have the seat so I can watch my toddler swim. It was embarrassing to say the least! I really dont think well be back here
Room was beautiful. Lobby pool area neat and clean. As for check in horrible i requested bottom floor room and clerk at desk seemed to not want to be there that day. Told me sorry your on third floor i explained i requested a bottom floor because i am undergoing treatment for cancer and i cant go up and down to the third floor again no help said were booked sorry thats your room he made no effort to try and accomodate me in anyway. As a rewards member and staying in multiple hotels i was shocked he made no attempt to try and help me. Not only was i on the third floor but all the way at the end of hallway. The happy hour was not sufficient in food. They did not prepare for amount of people and children in hotel and did not bring out enough food. Nor refill what was oit there. Again breakfast same thing not enough food for amount of people. Did not plan well to accommodate amount of people. These bonuses was one of the reason we choose to stay in embassy. Not satisfied at all considering this is a higher standard hotel.
The last few times Ive stayed have been somewhat ruined by the indoor water park environment, kids running amuck unsupervised. I have health issues and come for the sole purpose to use the Jacuzzi, but was unable too because the pool area looked like a public pool kids everywhere all evening, running jumping into the Jacuzzi. I had to wait until 10pm to use it but then it was disgusting looking, so I didnt get in. I was not happy. I had to pay almost $200 for the night and didnt enjoy one bit of it. I loved your hotel but dont feel that its being held to its high quality standards.
I would actually give zero stars. I amDisgusted by this place. The place is old looking and dark. They need to make the place more modern.Bathroom ceiling was peeling. When I first walked in the room I checked my sheets. They were dirty and the pillow cases dirty. Apparently, the morning housekeeper did. It change the sheets. The afternoon house keeper was sooo apologetic but it was already too late. I was horrified.I also asked her to change all the towels.I do not recommend
Miserable experience. Hotel is under construction, and the time they do have available for 150 per night dont have air conditioning. After four hours in 80 degree humid heat, we decided to just leave, as they had none available to do shooting about it and no other rooms. They seemed to want a thank you when they refunded my fee.
Hotel an absolute mess. They are remodeling, which is bound to produce some clutter and inconvenience, but this was out of hand. Front Desk staff very rude and unhelpful. Breakfast was way below acceptable standard: runny, watery eggs, French toast tough as shoe leather, sausage tasteless. Never again.
Nice place, had 5 rooms for family members recently. After HVAC issues in one room were handled all was good. Very nice staffers. Especially front desk lady from Cleveland. (Sorry, dont remember her name). The property (rooms etc.) is in need of updating. You can tell it was built in the 80s. It looks it in too many places.
What a disgrace! Please save yourself the time and money... DONT STAY HERE!! I travel constantly for work and have spent the last two months staying in hotels (all Hilton) and this is by FAR the worst! I had nothing but bad experiences and actually ended up leaving a day early because it was so terrible! My room wasn’t ready. I then had to switch rooms. The hotel is right next to a highway so it is VERY loud. The male bartender was extremely rude at the restaurant. He refused to serve me and then when he did he poured my wine into a filthy glass. It had someone else’s lipstick and fingerprints from stem to rim! Then when I tried to return it he wouldn’t acknowledge me and ignored me. I finally put my drink down and left the hotel because service was terrible. The rooms are very outdated and dirty. I had to switch rooms and both had stains and hair on the towels and bedding. All the mirrors were broken. There were alarms going off constantly for hours during the day when I was trying to get some work done. And the list goes on but the bottom line is that I will NEVER STAY IN AN EMBASSY SUITE AGAIN AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU!!!
I dont usually bother to give ratings, but this place deserves it. Truly, I am baffled by the positive reviews. We reserved 2 adjoining rooms since we have 3 small kids. At check in we were told that they could no longer accommodate that request. Its only pending availability, which they dont mention when youre requesting it. Because it totally makes since to have checked other people that didnt need adjoining rooms into those rooms. So 2 of my very young children have to leave their room to come to our room if they need us. And our 2 year old has to sleep with us since the sofa bed freaks him out. I guess we could have put all 5 of us in one room. The front desk manager that was on duty really could not have been less sympathetic or done less to fix the problem. Dont yes a customer while grimacing, just stop. Maybe consider a different line of work. Or do something to make it right. The partying in the atrium area well past little kid bedtime is, I suppose, to be expected, no matter how unwelcome. The drunk people stomping down the halls and hollering is probably part and parcel of the atrium design, too.Breakfast was ho hum. If you like minimally processed food, you better bring it with you. Again, to be expected. There is an omelet station...The gym is a joke insofar as equipment goes (2 ellipticals, 1 treadmill, dumbbells, light medicine balls) but was more than adequate for a HIIT workout since theres so much empty space. So, I guess thats a plus. The pool was fun for my kids but left everyones skin and eyes quite irritated. Meaning another shower, which takes a while given the low pressure.Left around 10 AM for a couple hours with the request at the front desk that the room be cleaned then as Id be back for the 2 year olds naptime. It was, of course, exactly as we left it. Hopefully it can be done in the late afternoon. No request seems too small for them to avoid!I cant leave soon enough. Usually we stay at the Residence Inn downtown - wish we hadnt deviated. This hotel is just not family friendly and is overpriced for what it is. There do seem to be a lot of partiers here, though, so if thats what you need, look no further.
Staff: Awesome & friendly. Lobby/public areas: Very Clean. Breakfast Buffett: Not that great but they do have several meal options. Hotel Rooms: Not that clean, blankets and glass cups had stains. Staff didnt empty trash or clean the bathroom when servicing the room.

2022-07-03Had a great stay at this location overall. The front desk staff was a pleasure and friendly. The breakfast staff was also a pleasant and hardworking. The room was ready and clean upon arrival. One thing that required change was the shower curtain, which had a stained section. And, it would be nice if the website stated that you have to reserve pool time on Friday and Saturday. Other than that, it was a good stay.

2022-01-23My daughter wanted to stay at a hotel and go swimming for her birthday. After doing some research we decided to go here. I was on the fence as I know this hotel is older but it turned out to be an excellent stay. There have been some updates in recent years. The room, a junior suite, was clean and comfortable, good for families. The hotel was not overly crowded. The pool area looks recently updated and was in good condition. The water was clear. The best part of our trip was the staff.Ally and Aaron in particular were both wonderful. They were both friendly, accommodating, and personable. The managers reception was nice. My daughter had her heart set on room service for her birthday. They did not have room service that night but Ally offered to coordinate room service anyways for us. She really went above and beyond to make the trip special for my daughter.

2021-12-21For what should be a nice hotel - we had issues with the tub backing up. Also the quality of their sheets and blankets need to be updated. My mother slept on the pull out sofa and the blankets were worn - we asked for a second blanket and that one had definitely seen better days. Also, I had the opportunity to use the pool which was nice - although discovered a ball of hair at the bottom of the pool. - hotel needs to step it up. However, the staff and the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful and I thought the breakfast services and food was very good. Nice hot breakfast and omelets made to order - although the hotel needs to pay the persons making and organizing the breakfast more - they work hard.

2021-12-19This hotel has been renovated/updated. The coy stream, trees, foliage, river walk, and hot tub are gone. The new decor is contemporary and wholly different. The suite’s furniture and decor are a nice upgrade, but still needs work on cleanliness details. Specially the surface areas of the tables and kitchenette, the air vents were pretty grubby, the refrigerator was rusty in spots, and the bathtub was not at all suitably clean enough to take a bath in. Beyond that, the room was great.Reservations are necessary to use the pool. Only three rooms of guests are allowed per hour, and a special key must be picked up from the front desk in order to access the pool area. The front desk and breakfast staff were wonderful; and the complimentary happy hour (5:30pm-7:30pm) is always a welcome bonus!

2022-02-20Great times staying here and enjoyed the experience. If you remember this hotel when it had plants, fish, ponds, etc., you will be shocked at the modern renovation. My only complaint was the cleanliness, as another reviewer mentioned. The bath tubs were dirty and we even found snacks open and hidden behind a drawer in one of the bedrooms. Some noise issues with one party after 11pm, but it did stop.If you do stay here, I recommend Ruby Tuesday for dinner! It’s right around the corner and they have great food/drinks!

2022-06-28On June 26, 2022, our return flight home on American Airlines was delayed time after time and eventually delayed until the following morning, June 27, 2022, at 6:00 a.m. Sadly, our flight the following day was also delayed and finally canceled. We were rescheduled two days later, June 28, 2022, on an evening flight. American Airlines gave us provisions for an overnight stay both days the flight was delayed. It was our experience the second day that troubled and angered me. Upon arrival, at approximately 12 p.m., I was approached by a woman who I presume to be the hotel manager. She told me that we could not check-in until 2:00 p.m. and invited me to go across the street at Ruby Tuesdays in the meantime, but I decided to remain at the hotel during our wait. Ten minutes later, a Caucasian family arrived and miraculously she was now checking people in. To her credit, she did approach me to qualify that I was there to check in and she let me go before them. Though I found the whole ordeal bizarre, I observed but did not make waves.I asked her if my husband and I could have a room with a king sized bed. The woman told me that because it was a Monday, the hotel was full and she could not accommodate my request. Now, this hotel is far out of the way and had very little traffic. I knew she was lying but I asked her if she would mind revisiting their reservations to verify that what she was saying was true. She appeased me for two seconds by looking at her screen and said she that she was sorry. My perception was that she was a calloused, power hungry, prejudice individual, so I didnt argue. I took my room keys and left.Later that evening, when the shift changed, I went downstairs and asked for a room change. The person at the front desk changed our room without hesitation. When I asked how many king sized rooms were available, I was told plenty.Thank goodness for kind, helpful, and non-biased people in this world. The woman that I presumed to be the hotel manager (A Caucasian woman with a big heavily hairsprayed 70s hairstyle and brown hair.) should not be in the service business. Its people like her that make an already uncomfortable, inconvenienced, situation even worse. My prayer is that she gets back what she gives to others. Those type of experiences are the best life teacher.

2022-05-01This was the worst experience I have ever had. I called and informed the hotel of our plans to sing happy birthday to my daughter (who was turning 3). Upon arrival, I double checked with the front desk to make sure it would be okay, they said there would be no issues but no balloons and only the people sleeping in the room could go to the pool (which was fine because that was the plan). My brother and his wife parked in the back because it was closer entry to the room and I couldn’t inform them about the balloons right away, one of the women ran full speed to them and yelled at them for bringing the balloons inside. They put them back in the car. At 7:15, we had all finished dinner and we were waiting for my ILL mother to get there so we could sing happy birthday and open the presents before we (the guests sleeping in the room) go down to the pool for our 1 hour reservation. The MANAGER OF SALES knocked on the door and demanded everyone leave right away or the police would be called. I said nicely that my mom was here and we would just sing happy birthday quick and then they would all leave. She gave me a HORRENDOUS attitude and got upset because instead of arguing I closed the door to inform my HISPANIC family what was happening. We just threw a birthday party for my niece here in December….she claimed I was lying. She walked back down and HARASSED MY ILL MOTHER about going up to the room to sing her grand daughter happy birthday. She gave no reason for kicking everyone out other than “you have all been breaking rules since you arrived”. I honestly feel like this was extremely racially motivated. Music was on low and it was mostly Disney songs and salsa music. When the police arrived they didn’t understand why we were forced to leave (all on the body camera footage) and he even suggested just moving to a different hotel down the road. Her excuse to the police was that it was a fire hazard and only 4 people were allowed in the room. IT WAS AN EXECUTIVE SUITE! There were 6 conference chairs and 4 stools at the bar behind the SECTIONAL sofa. There was 2 KING sized beds and a pull out bed. Why would only 4 people be allowed? The fire department said that in 500 square feet the maximum amount of people is 38, the room was 520 square feet (per the website information) there were only 5 children and 8 adults. My daughter was a micro preemie at birth, she only weighed 1 lb 12 oz. So every year we make the most of celebrating her journey and this experience has ruined that for her 3rd. As a Hilton Honors member, I Want to be clear, hiring unprofessional and rude employees who justify that they can’t be racist because they are married to a black man, is bitterly revolting. This needs to be taken care of. The people of Syracuse do not deserve this treatment from hotel employees in the suburbs. We are all humans and to be treated like criminals over a toddlers birthday party is flabbergasting.

2022-07-03Very good experience, I travel to Syracuse almost every week and stay at the embassy suites. The service is good, the breakfasts are free and excellent, you can get made to order omelets. The bar in nice and has multiple TV screensThe only area I would like to see them expand is to change the food menu. The food is good but limited. They need to change it up and have at least one or two specials a week.I find myself going out for supper because Ive had the same things many time when I stayed

2022-01-20Loved the managers welcome refreshment and the breakfast! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The tub could have used a deep cleansing with an abrasive cleanser. Dont get a room facing the highway! Very noisy.
