Ordered the emily burger and the Brussel sprouts salad. Both were decent however doesnt live up to the hype. The onions on the burger could have been caramelized longer and the salad had way too much blue cheese. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! Will try the pizza next time
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Staff is very friendly and atmosphere is so simple and cozy, being at Emily’s is one of the best date night locations out there. If you aren’t a fan of burgers, their pizza is also phenomenal, with a good selection of different pizza’s to choose from. They do take reservations, which might be a good thing to consider on busy days/right at meal times.
Make reservations! Its your sure way to get a spot in this highly anticipated pizza and burger restaurant. I would do need to caveat that they also have sandwiches and salad but, the burger and pizza are the reasons why we come here.I would say they treates their dough and buns the right way. And the toppings and sauces that go on top of them buns and dough are unique and high quality.I heard you can go wrong with any of their pizzas so we went with the Colonel and For the Nguyens. The Colonel is like your classic pepperoni pizza done right. For the Nguyens is kinda funky with the blue cheese so youll need to like blue cheese to enjoy it.The Burger is phenomenally unique and good. Its like a soaked the beef patty into a Korean Go Chu Jang mayonnaise sauce before putting the band over. The Kale Salad is good but we werent here for that :)
First visit to Emilys and honestly the food was delicious. My group arrived and the table wasnt ready yet but they were kind enough to give us a free round of drinks at the bar while we waited. Never have I had that kind of treatment anywhere due to a table not being ready yet. It was much appreciated. And then the food. Vodka sauce pizza was very good but the burrata pizza was incredible. That signature burger is a must try. Flavorful and juicy with a soft pretzel bun and crispy fries. You cant go wrong. Definitely was worth the hype and would go back again
Double stacked burger was amazing to say the least. Jucy! The beef was full of flavor, the caramelized onions with the sauce was a perfect flavor added to the beef. Hot toasted pretzel bun! Just an amazing burger!Detroit square pizza was on point! Light tasty sauce, very good cheese, dough was was crispy and done just right, light and not greasy. The service was very good and friendly and the place was clean. It was an excellent experience.
OMG sooooooo good!!!!! I didn’t know much about this spot before going but we loved loved loved the Brussels sprout salad and the pizzas! We got a red sauce pie (the MVP) & a white sauce (the Emily). One was better than the next! The four of us shared those three dishes and we were stuffed! It’s a super deep dish pizza with an amazing crust (I guess it’s Detroit style?).It’s in a super cute part of the village and service is super friendly!
GET THE BURGER!! Thats my takeaway. The burger was hands down one of the best burgers Ive eaten- I also LOVE pretzel buns so that was definitely a plus for me. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth level and the emmy sauce was a hit.I dont think you can go wrong with their pizzas, we tried the Arenstein which was delicious and great for sharing. I loved the pepperoni cups on the pizza and the flavors blended together so nicely. A solid pizza but nothing mind blowing here.I was really excited for the cheesy garlic sticks but they definitely disappointed a little bit. It sounds like all of my favorite flavors but I thought the bread was too thick and with the pizza too it wasnt a great appetizer since I thought it was too bready.Come Again? Yes- for the burger!! Id be down for pizza or a different appetizer but definitely would be down to come again for the burger! (5 stars for the burger, 4 stars for the pizza, and 3 for the cheesy garlic sticks!)
Comfort food at its finest. The space is small but comfortable. We wanted to try their famous emi sauce burger and were not disappointed. Definitely not your common burger as it does have a spicy/sweet taste that resembles Korean flavors.Service was good, prices might be a bit hyped up for what is offered but still worth it.
We came in last minute and they still had a spot for us. Cost location, friendly staff, fast delivery (probably due to almost closing). I had the Emmy burger and mannnnnn it’s was so crazy delicious. Buttery, juicy, tasteful. We didn’t try the pizzas but they did look great as well!Nice 2000 pop songs as well hahaWould highly recommend.
[NYC burger killer🍔] I wasnt a fan of burger until the day I realized I just hadnt tasted a good one before. Like every other meal, if you make it from fresh and quality ingredients, not to mention the love and the care put into it, you could have the burger of your dream. I had mine at Pizza Loves Emily - a hotspot of Greenwich Village, very well located near Washington Square Park and the famous NYU.O-M-G, this is the best burger Ive ever had 😳 It looks Instagrammably good and tastes surprisingly delicious. The brown butter bun, the meat, the caramelized onions, the sauce, the fries, everything was perfect! Maybe except for the price 😉 But I could jump on another flight to NYC to grab a slice of Emmy burger!! The pizza 🍕 also worths a visit here. It wasnt Brooklyns style but more in Detroits style(rectangular pizza, thick crisp crust), perfectly cooked, with a considerable portion (everything is significant in the US, you know 🤣) Im thankful for everything! .
So, I was drunk when I arrived here, but let me try to recollect…Was very busy, so we had to sit downstairs. A little disappointed because was a beautiful day. Cool restaurant though.Like most, I was here for 1 reason only, The Emmy Burger. Widely renowned as NYCs best burger, I was not disappointed, a really great burger with a unique and special sauce. Mucho enjoyo. This was our last meal in NYC before returning home and I’m glad we ended it with this special burger. Thank you 🙏🏻
WOW, this food is amazing!! We made a reservation based on our friends recommendation and we couldn’t believe how good the food was!For starters, the Brussels sprout salad and garlic cheese bread were not what we expected, and that was a beautiful thing! The salad has so many flavors that I would never pair together and it was incredible. The garlic cheese bread was probably eh best I’ve ever had, coated in pesto… brilliant!!We ordered the burger, a chicken parmigiana sandwich and the pepperoni pizza to split. The burger… maybe the best hamburger I’ve had in my life, it was perfection. The chicken parm sandwich was devoured by my kids. The pizza was perfectly cooked with a nice crunch to the crust that made it the perfect piece. We did not have room for dessert, we were absolutely stuffed and happy! We will for sure make a point to visit again, thank you for a lovely meal!!
Look at this food. It’s so freaking good. Get the burger your first time—it’s worth the hype—but the pizza is something else too. We got white pizza the first time, and found ourselves wanting something a little closer to the pizza we knew. The reds are still different enough than what you’ll get elsewhere in NYC that I think you should probably go for that.
Came in for dinner and brought 2 friends that were not initially on the reservation. There was no problem accommodating us and we were seated right away. Food was excellent. The burger is one of the best burgers I have ever had. They had a great wine selection at a reasonable price. There is also some cool indoor seating in the basement near the kitchen.
Hands down delicious. Did we both need 2 patties each in our sandwich? Nope. Was it still amazing? Yup!$55 for a burger & chicken sandwich on a yummy pretzel bun (expensive? Sure is).Havent tried the Detroit style pizza but its on the list for next time.Reservations Def recommended. Also recommend chatting with the bartender - he was good fun, and such an interesting life story!! Came in on a Wednesday evening, pouring rain, & it was busy at 9pm.
Normally a thin crust pizza lover, but this place totally converted me. The thick crust has excellent texture and flavor. The 9x11 pizza size makes for edge crispiness for everyone. Pizza has 6 slices. We were hungry and still left two pieces on the pan. Sauce is fantastic. We went traditional and got pepperoni. Best meal on our whole NYC trip.
The burger is a must try as well as the Detroit style pizza! Love taking visitors to this restaurant because you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and the more people you have the more you can share. The west village location is extremely quaint but very small so try to go during off hours or make sure you have a reservation.
Emily has some of the best pizza in NYC. Alongside the great food, they have a great list of cocktails and really friendly service. We enjoyed the MVP pizza, the brussels sprouts salad, and the cheesy garlic bread. You really cant skip out on this pizza or indulging in the garlic bread; truly worth every bite.
Fun, hip, environment. I feel like it had a dress up, or dress down vibe which is nice if you want to go out to have a good time and not spend to long getting ready. The burrata eggplant parm was really good! The Streetfair pizza was good but a little spicier than we thought. Also super filling. We couldn’t finish it.
Was there on a Tuesday afternoon. Ordered the burger, of course. And my girlfriend wanted the chicken wings, but they didnt have it. Instead they offered her the chicken sandwich with the chicken wings sauce. The burger was a total success. So was the chicken sandwich, which had tons of delicious wings sauce. Would totally recommend to my friends!
Good example of how bad service can destroy a nice evening. We had to ask for everything, the waiter showed no interest at any time“Can we order please, can we get some more water, can we pay etc.”The food came before the drinks, not all food at the same time and so on.And not that he was busy, most time he just stood for him self, looking.Definitely the wrong guy at the wrong place. With all this said - the food was great! If I should have been the chef I would have been quite frustrated to have someone like that waiter destroying the overall experience.
Simple restaurant with basic decor and atmosphere. We came mainly to try their famous burger and we were not disappointed at all. dry-aged patty covered in year-old Vermont cheddar and caramelized onions and served on a pretzel bun. Something that “shouldn’t work, but it does. light. The secret is in the sauce Surprisingly light. We also tried the pizza which was ask great.
Emily is a great go-to for a delicious and filling meal. I always order the Emily burger which is so juicy and the flavor is unmatched so it’s worth the price. To top it off, I get the Emily pizza which balances out the salt with the sweet and makes me feel like I’m having pizza fordessert. Both locations are amazing and I’ve been to both enough to know the food is always top notch and consistent. Definitely a memorable meal.
Yooo this place is crazy. Idk how there isn’t a line out of the door to this place. Came in at 1pm on a Monday and there was basically no one here. Got the Emmy Double Stack Burger which is a dry aged beef burger on a pretzel bun with a side of waffle fries. This is literally the best burger I’ve ever had. And the fries? Best waffle fries I’ve ever had. The service was solid too. I will definitely be back.
Great BurgersI wanted to go to this place specifically for their hamburger. It was the right call. We sat at sidewalk tables, beautiful on this spring day. The waiter was very helpful, the drinks were very good and the burgers were delicious. I would definitely return.
The good:Pizza and Parma were really good. Both tasted delicious.Almost all the staff members were super friendly except the girl who took our order, I think she was having a bad day or whatever the f her deal was!The bad:We ordered smoked trout dip with “homemade” potatoes chips. This was a mistake, the dip was good but the chips weren’t homemade. It was a bag of smith’s chips from supermarket! Stay away from that rubbish! The wine smelt and tasted like it was opened 2 or 3 days ago. I doubt Napa Valley Pinot Noir would taste so foul unless it was a glass of cheap wine or an opened bottle. Also, please consider buying some wine glasses for your bar! They really aren’t that expensive! 🤦♂️I was gonna rate this place 3 stars but the staff member who really listened to our concerns and replaced the Pinot with glass of Chardonnay was brilliant! 🥰 Thank you sir! So I will add one more star. The pizza we ordered was pretty good, but beware of what you ordered as side dish or you might get a bag a potato crisp on the plate! 🤣
The dining area is open and casual. They also have space downstairs if you can not find a table upstairs. I have eaten here quite a few times. The pizza is good if this was said Philadelphia but this is New York. Still not a bad pie. However, It is the burgers that keep us coming back here. Dried-aged beef covered with Vermont cheddar served on a pretzel bun. A top-notch burger in any city. Overall a great meal.
Came for lunch to try the famous burger and it did not disappoint! The meat was cooked perfectly and the choice of a pretzel bun added a little salty funk to the burger that took it too the next level. On top of that the curly fries were nice and crispy and our drinks were delicious. Due to COVID we decided to sit outside and they have heat lamps set up by every table so you don’t get too cold. Our food was served promptly and the waiter we had was very attentive. Overall great experience and can’t wait to go back!
I guess I forgot to post this. My last very good meal outside before this isolation situation began. Recommended by my friend @rboucher, this has also become my favorite burger in NYC. (Also, curly fries? Way to spoil the market.) But what needs to be truly commended are the gourmet-ish detroit-style pizzas. The fusion pizza with bacon, kimchi and miso queso was so delightfully eclectic, but also perfect (if it was loaded with half the queso). I hope they survive this; I am sad that I am too far for them to deliver; and I cant wait to stuff myself with their pizzas when we get to go back out again.1. Pat LaFrieda Burger (LaFrieda beef, EMMY sauce, caramelized onion, American cheese, & pickles on a pretzel bun - with curly fries!)2. Arenstein Pizza (vodka sauce, pepperoni, pickled chili, honey)3. Pig Freaker Pizza (bacon, kimchi, sesame, miso queso)4. Lady Goodman (blanc de blanc, hibiscus voda, st. elder elderflower liqueur, earl grey, lemon)
If you enjoy being glared at by the wait staff for finishing your meal within the 90 minutes they give you - this is the place for you. We were rushed from the minute we sat down at our 5pm reservation. At 6pm our server told us the we had to leave by 6:30 - totally fine to have a 90 minutes limit, but maybe let the patrons know at the beginning of the reservation. At 6:10 we asked for another round of drinks (20 minutes left to our allotted time slot) and the server rolled her eyes and begrudgingly agreed to fetch our drinks. As we finished our drinks and paid our check a women that looks like the owner literally glared at us for about 20 second. We left with 7 minutes left over and were still glared at as we left. To top it off, they were speaking about us in Spanish as we walked out - 3 of 6 people in our group speak Spanish... Pizza may love Emily, but Emily doesnt love the people that she feeds - we will never return and I would advise you to just not waste your time.
The food we ordered was incredible, so I understand why this place was packed on a Sunday. We had the famous Emily hamburger with the curly fries. However, the only thing I have to point out is the fact that we were rushed and were asked to give up the table after an hour of being seated (our food took a bit of time to arrive) so it was upsetting.
You have to try Emily’s, their food is outstanding. I know most people go here for the pizza, and rightfully so, but I have to say the burger was awesome. I had a friend who told me the burger may actually be better than the pizza so we knew to try both and we did. Juicy burger, tons of taste, and cooked to the right temperature. The pretzel bun was a nice touch too. We had The Colony pizza which has pepperoni, jalapeños, and honey. We loved the Detroit style pizza and will definitely go back to try the other ones too. The seating is a little tight inside but nothing out of the ordinary. They are quick with the food too, we were out in 30 minutes. Great establishment overall.
Summary: A Detroit style pizza restaurant turned superstar by its signature Emmy Burger. The magnificent burger is made from dry aged beef and completed with signature house sauce, American and cheddar cheese, and Pretzel bun. The combination of these ingredients produces a one of a kind taste that has never been experienced before. The restaurant also serves excellent pizza with the Colony leading the way. The ambiance and service are always excellent.Must Try: Emmy Burger and Colony pizza. Also recommended: The mimi and Emily pizza.Avoid: N/A⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Outstanding, worth a special excursion
We were visiting nyc and were excited to come here cause we’ve heard about the place online. We came in with no reservation and were able to sit at the bar. The food and drinks were really good. However, there was a very hostile interaction between the bartender and the manager; especifically coming from the manager. She screamed at the bartender multiple times making all the customers extremely uncomfortable.
Have been wanting to try for a while. Went on Thursday night at 8pm for dinner (need reservations unless you want to wait for a while). We ordered a pizza and split the burger. Food was incredible. Have tried a bunch of burgers in NYC and this is among the top. Also deep dish pizza was incredible. Would think the menu was pricey for how good the food was but ended up being pretty cheap. Also solid drink selection. This is a must try!
Delicious pizzas and friendly staff. We also had to try the famous burger: the meat is juicy and cooked perfectly, however we weren’t too sure about the sauce - “the Emmy sauce” they call it. Does it have gochujang in it? It’s 2019, we don’t have to put gochujang in everything to be “creative” 🙄🙄😅 great pizzas though
Small place. A little cramped with only 14 tables and a small bar. Super friendly staff. We shared the Street Fair pizza - square, fluffy, crispy, spicy with sausage, red sauce and chili peppers. Delicious. Even better was the Sprouts Salad with shaved brussels, cashews and chunky blue cheese. The burgers looked amazing.
Out of many pizza we tried in NYC, so far, this is the best pizza we ever had. We tried their Colony Pizza (most popular). Pepperoni was not too salty and jalapeño added right amount of spice. Also, with the addition of honey, it perfectly balances out the sweetness and saltiness. We had it as a takeout and ate it about 10 minutes later. It was still great at warm temperature (no smell from pepperoni whatsoever), but then I wonder how amazing it will be when its eaten hot and fresh! Will DEFINITELY come back!
12.29.17 - Stick with the square pizzas and youre golden. We ordered the Dune Road, which was a little too salty or it was the concentrated flavor from the clams; it was simply a little too over seasoned. We also got the Arenstein, which was spot on, but we had it with the honey on the side. The dough was nice and crispy on the edge and gooey and tasty towards the middle. The Crowlers were nice had the right texture for curly fries, while the Shredded Sprouts was good, but it was a little difficult to get equal bites of the goat cheese with the other ingredients. I probably would not re-order the sprouts even though I LOVE beets and all the individual ingredients.Emily definitely has one of the best pizza menus in NYC and Emmy Squared is just as nice. When you approach Emily in West Village dont get discouraged if it looks packed because theres around 8 more tables below grade and the turnover is pretty good. The time can range between 45-60 minutes or longer.
The food at Emilys was very delicious. Their burger was by far one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. That’s not an exaggeration. But, I will say I did not appreciate being told to sit out in the corner in the cold, while everyone else was in the heated tents. I understand I did not have a reservation, but the accommodation was very ridiculous. Anyways, I would recommend to a friend in the future to have a reservation.
Easily one of the best burgers I had! The meat melts in your mouth and the cheese and the sauce are rich in flavour. The absolute highlight of the burger though is the pretzel bun which is delicious and crispy, yet soft and fluffy. We also had the beets and the caesar salad which are delicious and healthy appetizers. Highly recommended!
Emily is one of my favorite places in the West Village, even during these crazy Covid times. Had another amazing meal yesterday. Matthew was our server and he was very attentive and extremely friendly. We had the brussels sprouts salad, the hot wings and two of Emily‘s signature pizzas – the Emily and the MVP with burrata. Both outrageous. Can’t wait to come back.
This review is based solely on what I can say is one of the best burgers Ive had in NYC to date. I have no idea how the patty has been made, but it quite literally melts in the mouth. Its actually quite rare, but doesnt feel so at all. And the chocolate mousse, grain cracker and marshmallow desert was beautiful too! Ive only docked one star on the grounds of the fries being a tad bit on the greasy side and the oil for the fries needed changing as it was hitting bitter notes. Overall, love this place and it is a definite recommendation!
I heard so many raving reviews so had to try it. FWhen I arrived, the place was packed which is always a good sign. After 20 min I finally got to get my hands on it.The burger was great , though not sure it lived up to its price tag. I expected it to be more juicy so was a bit disappointed. But overall it was great. Fries were good and curly and the service was excellent
I made this a destination on my short trip to NYC because of the rave reviews on the burger. I tried to go to the Brooklyn location on Thursday but the burger was sold out. Made it to the West Village early Friday and ordered the famous burger. Guess what! They put American cheese on the burger in West Village and Cheddar in Brooklyn. I dont know what your feelings are on American cheese but Im okay with it on a $3 burger but a $26 burger better have the best damn cheese around! The meat was delicious but the American cheese ruined the experience. Go to a different location if you want the burger.
One of the best places in the city to get an amazing burger and pizza at the same time. Top 5 burger spot in nyc, and top 5 pizza spot, all at once. Highly recommend a burger each and split a pie, or split a burger and 2 pies.Recommend: Double Stack Burger. Colony Pizza and Emily Pizza.
The place is cosy but classy. Very nice atmosphere. The pizza is wonderful, very good dough, recommend the colony. But the best thing by far was the burger which has to be the best burger Ive ever had. Its so good Im not looking forward to going back to anyone else. Its been 10 months, and I still think about this meal. Its my first New York recommendation.
I came to Emily with some of the highest expectations I’ve had given the over the top hype this place has gotten. It didn’t even come close to as good as people have been lauding it.The pizza, which should by all accounts should have sent me backwards with awe, was only a hair above mediocre. It looks and tastes like frozen pizza, begging the question: delivery or digiorno? The saving grace was a double stack burger on a pretzel bun that made me weigh the pros and cons of diabetes. It was cheesy, it was meaty, it was phenomenal.I will come back when they change the name to Emily loves burgers. Until then save your money and grab something microwaveable, it’ll be about the same.
I still grave for their burger, everything about it is amazing. The buns, meat and their sauce all r fused together harmonically to play an orchestra inside ur mouth with ur salivary glands drooling all over ur mouth continuously till the last bite of it. This burger raise my expectations on how burger suppose to taste. Ill be honest New Yorkers thats what I miss most on ur city!
Apart from having an amazing atmosphere with extremely helpful, friendly and smiling employees this places best quality is the food they offer. Im speaking of one particular food item that blew me off my seat wanting to come back for more whenever I am in the area. I am talking about the Emilys double decker burger of course. The tenderness of the pretzel bun is what you first experience when you dig in, then as you slowly bite in you can feel the aged prime double patty and the mouth watering cheese. With an exceptional sauce and other ingredients youre in for a ride!!If youre planning on stopping by, make sure to book beforehand.
Emily never let us down. Have gone to their original Clinton Hill many times, Williamsburg and now West Village and the the consistency of food is great.Very cool they have space in the basement. If youre lucky like my group was, they were able to take us last minute walking in and give us their wine room space. Its a couple private room literally next to their wines and across from the kitchen. Completely the best spot in the entire restaurant if you have a group. Its like youre sitting in a Rustic home thats warm and inviting.
One of the most amazing, juicy and delicious burgers I’ve tried by far! Leaves you filling so stuffed and sends you right into a food coma ☺️ will say also the Emily pizza is also amazing and so full of taste! The ambiance is very relaxing and perfect for a dinner date with friends or your significant other! You do have to get a reservation because they do get very busy and without a reservation there is a long wait time to get a table. But I will say it will be worth the wait!!
The burger was next level, but at $26 it’s not cheap. It was a great one time tastebud experience but I doubt I’d go through the hassle to get a reservation again. Also, most of the tables are in the basement and are ridiculously close together, even for NYC. The dinner felt rushed, but I was happy to get out of our tiny space. “Eat your $26 dollar burger and get out” is the feeling I got. Our waiter was great and even pointed us to an Italian bakery around the corner for dessert, because it’s would be “better.”
The pizza isnt worth the way youll be treated. We were a group of 6 and had a reservation, and at the 60 minute mark they started trying to get us to leave (the reservation reserves the table for 90 minutes). They glared at us as from minute 60 - 84, despite the fact that we settled the check and let them clear the table while we were still there. We had gotten food and drinks and tipped well, so these people are just rude.
Excellent burger-as it should be for $26. It was big enough for two people and the Emmy sauce was yummy! Our waiter was bothered by us and didn’t want to be there. So, service gets 1 or 2 stars. Overall, I am glad we went and tried it once, but we probably won’t go back.
The ULTIMATE in comfort food. Id make the trip from Brooklyn to West Village for a slice or two (who am I kidding a whole pie please) of their Colony Pizza – sweetened with honey and spiced with pickled jalapeño (pictured here – day old and reheated in my oven). Make sure to book a reservation if youre coming for dinner as the queues with walk-in-guests can be quite long. I picked up two boxes to-go last week , the manager Alex looked really busy, but very warm and helpful.
Very good vibe and spot. The pizza was delish. Would still take prince st pizza and others over it. The burger is pretty good but must be eaten with a fork and knife unless you devour it in a few bites because the sauce is everywhere. Came out sort of mushy. Definitely not the best burger I have had but it is very tasty.
Had the famous Emily Burger and I was not disappointed. For the most part I dont like pretzel buns because I feel they are too much bread so I was hesitant. But just like every component of this burger, it was perfect. And the saaaauuuucccceeee! I want that sauce on everything, just enhances the burger. Cant wait to come back and try their pizzas.
First time I’ve ever been introduced to Detroit style pizza! Being a massive fan of Chicago deep dish, this was like a perfect lightweight version and it was absolutely delicious. We were seated very quickly (with a reso) and the food came out pretty fast too. Highly rec the pizzas! Good atmosphere, friendly staff and a nice place for a weekday birthday celebration.
I was pleasantly surprised by this place! When you think of pizza, you generally think of cheese or pepperoni. Not this place! The pizza was as unique as they come and absolutely delicious. The burger is a must as well. Extremely happy with the food, staff, and drinks! Worth a wait if you don’t make reservations.
Found!Emily makes great burgers. Sure, its a pizza place, but its bread expertise is the differentiating factor of this great burger. The beef is tasty, the accoutrements balanced (sweet and salty), but the bread makes the burger a standout! This spot has a great ambience and very casual vibe. For more great reviews of the New & Authentic visit The Loupe!
Over the top. The food was on another level. I’ve been on a bit of a chicken sandwich binge and this took the cake as the best one yet. The burger and fries were tasty also. However the best part of the meal was our waiter Rebecca. She helped us order and then as it got late and the restaurant cleared out she joined our conversations and kept us laughing until closing.
Best burger in NYC...hands down. If you hear someone dismiss that statement by raising the usual burgers that are on multiple top ten lists, ignore them. They are wrong. This burger is life. The pizza is good, but Ive had better. The broccoli salad was also delicious and the rest of the salads looked great as they were brought to other tables. Staff is very friendly.
This place is absolutely delicious! 🤤 Emily has one of the best burgers 🍔 and unique pizzas 🍕 in the city! 🗽 The Nashville Chicken Katsu Sandwich 🥪 is also great! But my favorite here were the Waffle Fries 🍟! The ambiance 🎶 is great and the place is beautifully decorated. The staff 👨🍳 is super friendly and the service is quick! I wish I knew about this place earlier!
I Wanted to check out the original place in Brooklyn but I could only make it to the one here in the village. I got the double stack burger and was not prepared for how delicious it was. The Emmy sauce is a delicious condiment and I regret not asking for more of it to dip my fries in. I sat at the bar but reservations are definitely recommended.
Love this spot. Went to the original in BK a few years ago. Recently visited the West Village location on a Sunday afternoon with the family. Super chill and amazing food as usual. Had to try The Colony after seeing this pizza on instagram for a while. Did not disappoint. Must continue to support these local gems during these tough times.
Best burger I’ve ever had… hands down. I usually get my burgers well done but the Emmy burger comes medium recommended. Took a trip from Times Square over here and ten times over it was worth it. Visiting from Indiana and would recommend this place to anyone visiting the city 100% amazing. Great service as well sorry was really focused on how good the burger was :)
Excellent seat on the corner outside. We enjoyed so much of the menu but we really loved the Brussels salad the thicker pizza and the burger (yes, at a pizza place). It was a great weekday dinner during travel and we were thankful for our friend’s recommendation. We will definitely stop by again with our daughter Emily!
This is yet another review telling you that the burger is bangin. Its the star of the show here, and its worth getting, especially with the crispy curly fries that come with it. The pizza is probably great too, if you are a vegetarian or otherwise beef-intolerant, but their double-patty, pretzel-bun-wrapped, perfectly-cooked cow sandwich is a formula that works and its in your best interest to take advantage of it.
Loved it.I have visited twice—once with my girlfriend in the before time and once this past July.In July I visited for lunch with a couple of friends. The restaurant was busy and we did not have a reservation, but they generously squeezed us in on the condition that we were finished with our meal before the next reservation scheduled for our table (about 45 minutes after our arrival). Since a member of our party had a train to catch we werent able to linger anyway, so our interests aligned perfectly. We split a pizza with pepperoni, jalapenos, and honey, as well as an order of cheesy garlic bread (or whatever it was called). All of this was delicious. The cocktails were great too.All pros, no cons. Cant wait to go back. Next time I will plan ahead and reserve a table!
Delicious food everytime Ive been at Emilys. You cant go wrong with one of their pizzas, unless its The Goods. The combination of pickles and Emmy sauce doesnt gell on the pizza itself. The pickle flavor overtakes everything else.Try their kale salad. Delicious. The kale is tender and dressing tangy. The cherries give the salad a nice touch. Ive never been able to get one of their sandwiches, because Im not a fan of pretzel buns. A pretzel bun is fun for a child.Enjoy some pizza, but stay for the atmosphere.
The Best Burger you can ever have in NYC for real! Dont waste your time looking for other burger places because this is just the right place! Be prepared for a juicy yet very delicious burger with loads of cheese and something close to Buffalo wing sauce which made the taste unbelievable! And also the curly fries were extremely delicious 😀 well done Emily and thank you for such a great experience! 5 stars all the way
We got there near to their closing time. We were sure we wouldn’t get tables but the waitress managed one for us. We had the obvious Emily burger double stack and the chicken parm. The Emily burger was freaking good, specially the sauce. Would definitely visit it again!!
We arrive 1 week a go aprox 6-7 pm, we were 6 persons getting there by Uber +45 minutes and traveling from another country to taste the amazing burger, there was a table for 4 available when we get there, they told us that they will not be able to accommodate 6 persons in the whole night, before we left I saw 2 spaces in the bar, we could be accommodated in that frame, the review is simply for not thinking/suggesting to the clients to actually eat with them, but just find 100 ways to say NO.
Pizza place famous for burger got us into question marks even before going and apparently we were right.Burger is not worth all the hype, a good burger, but nothing special, and nothing $26! Tastes like Costco patties smothered with a lot of sauce to cover for the default dryness. Bun was super good though. We were told the burger comes medium but there was not a hint of pinkness at all, it was very well done. Our fries were also tiny bits and pieces of Curly Fries, but this mistake about fries was promptly fixed after we have let our server know.Garlic Cheese Bread tasted nice but the crust was was kinda charred (even burnt) way beyond the crispy doneness, some parts almost impossible to chew.I can say this place has a tendency to overcook things based on my experience. Two star, since I would never go again / nor recommend to a friend, but they handled the fries situation properly. The service was slow (~45 mins for the burger) made us hesitant to ask for a new burger after seeing well done patty.I think people thinking that its the best burger or the best pizza, never ate a proper burger or pizza in their lives so far. Maybe even the chef should try burgers from places like JG Melon (like 3 mins walking) or Peter Luger to get inspired!
I FINALLY got to experience the famous Emily burger- and the HYPE IS REAL! It definitely was the highlight of my birthday to eat this incredible burger. I can also say the pizza is as equally delicious!Atmosphere was cozy and relaxing- I think everyone that was there was just happy to eat!
I love their pizzas. Thick fat crust usually with an amazing sauce and toppings.I think their Burger is not as good as Emilys-Brooklyn and they probably know that so this is why theyre compensating with their delicious pizzas 😂Keep in mind that those pizzas are on the expensive side though.
Definitely best burger in NYC dont miss it! The place is a cosy nice dinner in Greenwich village, very calm area to sit outside. Very friendly staff. One not if youre not used to eating spicy food, the Korean chilly mayo might give you a hard time, I would recommend to ask for it by the side. But please go! The place is awesome.
Food and atmosphere was great, we tool the famous burger which was amazing and also the Pizza were soooo good. the only downside I can tell is that the demand for this place is so high and once we finish eating we were getting the bill like one minute after and got the feeling that they expect us to evacuate the table...Overall, highly recommended!
Cosy location with what was a very satisfying burger. The pretzel bun added a lovely chew to the burger, and the patties were perfectly seared - full of juiciness and a good char to it. The pizza was a unique white kimchi and bacon combination. Crust came out to be rather crispy and the thicker parts was fluffy and yeasty. Very innovative and satisfactory.
Amazing Detroit style pizza. The starters are all fantastic, with a special nod to the Caesar salad. The colony pizza, with spicy jalapenos and honey, is one of my favorites. I would recommend getting a reservation or showing up early, as the cozy dining space fills up fast.
Right where do l even start, l am a foodie and l researched the whole of the NYC food blogs before l arrived and this was on top of my list. If there was an Oscars for a dish this burger Would win starter, main and dessert!!! Thanks to Sean the waiter and Emily for opening heaven on earth. We will be back!!!!!!
Square pizzas are solid but the curly fries were underwhelming & flavorless, and we had to return our sardine (round) pie because it was so gnarly tasting. BUT service was friendly and on point. Disclaimer: Didn’t try the burger so my review is based on the pizza/ambiance.
Came here after listening to Dax Shepherds Armchair Expert podcast where he raved about the food...and he definitely wasnt wrong! I went to the West Village location and the place was packed (definitely make a reservation in advance). The waiter gave me an Excellent Pinot Gris that wasnt on the menu yet and the pizza was to die for. Highly recommend!
Absolutely love it. The food, the casual yet fun vibe, the picturesque west village location and the lovely antiquated exposed brick underground seating area. The place gets really busy so reserve in advance. We went on a Tuesday evening at 7 and it was packed.Food- First of all, the menu is quite interesting with a tempting variety of appetizers, drinks and Detroit style brick pizzas along with the showstopper Emily burger. We ordered the burger, a pizza, and the cocktails. They are all very satisfying. The burger is worth the hype, insanely delicious with the special sauce. The pizzas are also addictively yummy!A must visit NY foodie destination!

2022-06-18Wow crazy restaurant, delicious food, great service and perfect atmosphere. We ordered for the opening portion the wing balls which were just amazing. Main course Hamburger and the famous pizza of the restaurant. The dishes are very large and perfect. The price is fair and worth every dollar. Highly recommended and a must include this restaurant on any visit to New York.🇺🇸

2022-04-06Good burger, very filling meal! Caring server!Overall great food - you can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients - soft bun, caramelised onions, special sauce, and the double layered burger patties. I was so full afterwards, but reflecting on the bill, I thought it was a little expensive for what I had. Almost $40 including tax and tips, for this meal and a soda. Is it worth it? Maybe for the experience of trying the famous hyped Emily’s burger. But the taste didn’t make blow my mind to say, wow, I’d come here again. Five Guys is a great substitute in my opinion.Overall I’d recommend it for the experience and suggest you coming not too late. This set is a lot and the last thing you want is a late night food coma. Also, book it or call in advance in you can.

2022-03-21What a wonderful culinary experience! We ordered the kale salad, the burger, a delicious pizza, and the banana pudding dessert. The burger and the pizza were phenomenal, truly worth the calories! The pizza crust was thick and mouthwatering and the burger buns were almost brioche like. The kale salad was a kale salad and the banana pudding was good, but the main compliments go out to the star of the show here, the pizza. A must visit location.

2022-02-19OMG!!!! All other burgers in your life are trash compared to this. Insanely delicious!!!! I heard about Emily through a podcast I listen to (Armchair Expert) and Im so glad I was able to go! The fries were so good too!! The burger is messy but so worth it. We went at an off time and had no trouble being seated. I would recommend reservations as the restaurant is smaller.

2022-05-13My order:-Red light/green light-old fashioned-colony pizza-pepperoni pizza (GF)This place was excellent. Very good drinks. Reasonably priced. But what we’re all here for: great pizza! I will say it’s a nice contrast to the classic NYC thin slice. And the flavor was very complex. I feel like that’s typically lost on a pizza, and it was found at Emily! I can’t wait to come back and try more pizzas.

2022-01-21If there was a restaurant that would considered a piece of art, I believe Emily could hold its own for a while. The Emmy burger probably is the best burger Ive ever had. It was savory, juicy, packed with flavor and dreamy. As you munch on it, you just wish it doesnt end soon. Followed by the colonial, a pizza which could ensemble its own orchestra of layers. A definite 5/5 in my book.

2021-12-28Been waiting to try the Emily Burger for 2 years but it fell short to our expectations, unfortunately. I think it was the sauce but everytime I took a bite of the burger, it smelled like feet. Couldnt even finish the burger cause of the smell. Was super disappointed but I guess it just wasnt for me. But other than the sauce, the burger was decent - but nothing special.I wonder if the burger at the Brooklyn location is different and maybe better..??However, the pizza was AMAZING. Would come back JUST for the pizza. We got the Colony Detroit-style pizza and Im now a Detroit-style pizza fan. Super fluffy and soft crust with flavorful toppings - just enough heat to numb the lips but doesnt make you gasp for water. Pricey for a small 6 piece pizza but So good.Takes time to make the food tho - around 15-20 minutes.

2022-04-01Had dinner last night for our anniversary. Driving the 5-stars is absolutely the food (had the MVP and Twice Baked; and the olive starter; glass of wine each)—the pizzas were perfection; house cured olives a flavor surprise (a delight!). It’s a small space so when full (which it was), it was noisy from everyone’s chatter. But there are two group dining areas downstairs which looked lovely (and would be quieter). Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. A “for a treat” place for us, but we loved it and plan to go back: there are many more amazing sounding pizzas to try!
