I come down every year to long Island and every year I take a trip to Mastic Beach empanadaville for alcapurias. However this year I got 2 black and burned alcapurias that looked like morcillas and tasted old and refried. I was very disapointed to say the least. I will never go back
This place is beyond amazing! Jessica is a true professional and puts so much love into her authentic, delicious food! I love all the combinations in her empanadas. They are seriously the best on Long Island. Also dont skimp on dessert! Before EmpanadaVille she was known for her flan. Hers is like nothing youve ever tasted.
Horrible customer service. Waited 40 minutes for 5 empanadas. (Was told to wait outside)Just to get the order wrong. No apologies just trying to challenge me even after i tipped..awkward vibe the whole experience . The rice and beans tasted a day old. The female in her late 40s seemed angry for no reason. My neice went in aftera 1/2 hour, still not ready. Served food in used brown paper bag and stapled napkins together.. i think The crust is good on the empanada but I would pre order to avoid dealing with them in person if you chose to eat from there.. def not the typical service youll get from Purto Rican culture.. just ready to go at it. Tense environment
Love love there empanadas. Reminds me of when I lived in Brooklyn. And they have so many variety of different flavors even dessert ones as well. I love the Nutella and banana empanada. LOADS of real flavors, never dry! . Doesn’t taste like they dumped a bunch of salt on it like the usual corner store places on Long Island. The staff is also very friendly.
Horrible customer service. Waited 40 minutes for 5 empanadas. Just to get the order wrong. No apologies just trying to challenge me . The rice and beans tasted a day old. The lady with the thinning edges seemed angry for no reason. The crust is good on the empanada. I would pre order to avoid dealing with them in person if you chose to eat from there.. I dont expect nothing classy coming out of Mastic anyway, but def not the typical service youll get from Purto Rican culture..Update: They replied to my comment and lied..said they saw the video..but disregarded when they told me.to.wait outside. I even tipped him after paying. I sent my neice in to check on the order which they said wasnt ready after 30 minutes. To reply and lie to the public is sad. I have no reason to lie. I went there with the sole purpose of supporting Puerto Rican small business. What type of person would tip if they had an attitude seriously. Had I known i wouldve waited so long i woulnt have tipped immediately.. and to add i had to pay immediately. She acted like she didnt trust us. It was an oversll uncomfortable waste of moneyLikeResponse from
This is our go to for empanadas! They have a wide variety of savory, sweet, vegetarian and meat options. Our favorites are the pastelon, spicy beef and nutella. Their menu also offers roasted chicken or fried chicken wings, plantains (maduros or tostones), sweet potato fries, rice and beans. We loved their flan, as well. The prices are decent and they have some great family packs and empanada combos. Only downside is payment options as far as paying by card over the phone - you will need to pay using Venmo or Cash App. Staff is very friendly!
Poorly run, dont waste your time!!! First attempted to order a few weeks ago. Took about twenty minutes and ten calls for them to finally answer the phone. Then they told me it would be 45 min to an hour on Wednesday night to get my 3 empanadas and a salad...And if I cut out the salad the wait time would be cut in half...It takes 30 mins to make one salad??? Then today again Wednesday, I must have called over 20 times in an hour period to try to order. Phone was busy every time, they must have disconnected the line. Also I tried every delivery service and they were not operating on any saying they were not accepting orders. Then drove 30 mins to get there just to find out the wait was over an hour for 3 empanadas. Walked in on angry customers inside complaining about the wait. Girl at the counter said they ran out of meat??? Never again wasting my time like this.
We’ve been ordering here since they opened, usually multiple times a week. I even order full size flans. Their food is amazing but when I called to order they said they couldn’t take my order until I made a payment, but they don’t accept cards over the phone. I would have to come in and pay and then wait for my order. I unfortunately had to decline. Not sure why the sudden change in policy, but it’s really not a great way to handle customers/business. Especially With everything going on right now.
Food here is decent. But apparently they have some new policy where they wont cook your food until you pay for it, yet they wont take your credit card information to pay for it either. In other words you have to go there pay for it, and wait around an hour for the food to be ready. Service is slow as molasses. I tried just going there and ordering and waiting, and the girl behind the counter never acknowledged me, and just was counting empty empanada packets over and over. After 10 minutes of being ignored, I just walked out. Its sad because i really used to like this place, but they have made it an impossibilty for someone to just go on their lunch hour and pick up.
Extremely good empanadas, was pretty quick considering the people complaining about wait time, hope people realize they have to cook them and not fast food joint so what u expect, they are good place an order over phone and pick them up and if have an issue that would be ur problem also have to say exactly what I expected from mastic... excellence
I am so glad I found this little wonderful place. The empanadas for to die for and they were very generous with the filling. The alcapurias were absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to go back for more! My son and I look forward to many more visits to this place. 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
My wife and I just moved to the area. We had an empanada place we liked, but this place was right around the corner, so we figured wed give it a try. So glad we did. Absolutely incredible. You can tell the people who make the food actually care about what theyre doing, because the empanadas were stuffed to the brim, and they were cooked to perfection...not too crispy, not too soft. We both agreed it was one of the best quality meals weve had in a while. Dont be fooled into thinking empanadas are a type of cheap, fast food...they tasted five star. However, I do have one warning: dont order the dessert empanadas unless you plan on gaining 20 lbs in the next month. The smores one was absolutely unreal.
My friends and I get our empanada meals almost once a week. A perfect treat. Always the warmest welcome when we walk in, the employees are the best. The cookies and cream empanada is the greatest food I’ve ever put in my mouth in my life, for real. Be sure to support, you will not be let down!
Hands down the best puerto rican food around. Stopped here on the way to the beach to grab dinner for me and the fam. Its been tough trying to find authentic quality puerto rican cuisine at a great price. Ive been two times before and all 3 times the food has never disappointed. So much variety too choose from. My fave empanadas are the bacon cheeseburger, pernil, pastelon, and classic beef empanadas. The empanadas are always jam packed and never greasy or dry which is tough to find in other empanada spots. Also, the roasted chicken plate and stuffed platano is amazing too. Always pleased with the size of the portions. Friendly staff also and all around great experience every-time ive been there. Cant wait to go back, my mouth is watering just thinking about it lol Definitely check them out!
The food isnt bad, but a bit pricey. Ive had better but there isnt anything comparable around the area. I do like the many empanada options. Thats always nice. Desserts are pricey. The customer service needs improvement. Ive gone in a few times and they look like youre bothering them. They dont say hello. They dont smile. They dont apologize when a food item isnt available. They should deliver. Some reviewer mentioned the decor: I like it. Doesnt bother me. But there are a few signs that arent very inviting. One was kinda funny but odd about not flirting with the staff. No offense, but they shouldnt worry about that. Really. I do get, by the signs posted around, the impression that the owner would refuse service if he/she didnt like who youre voting for. You know, that type of person.
Best empenadas Ive ever had aside from my friends home-cooked ones. A huge variety of flavors and Ill be damned if I dont enjoy almost every one (Personal tastes about pickles being the almost factor). Great salad too, though theres only the one option. Well-priced and well-cooked makes a well-fed, happy customer!~
Called today to order food, Because it can takebup to an hour to get your order. When I called I was told they are no longer accepting cash or cards over the phone. I would have to come in and place an order that was gonna take 45 min. Although I would be able to order over the phone if I used Cash app or Venmo. Thats shady as hell. I have ordered from this place about a dozen times and each time it gets worse. Not I cant even orderbover the phone unless Im using a shady app.
I used to love eating here. Lately, I have noticed the strong smell of moth balls in the establishment and could even taste it in the food. On my most recent visit, the only thing that didnt taste like moth balls were the tostones. I had to toss everything else. I am pretty disappointed because this used to be a local favorite of mine. Now, I doubt Ill go back.
Can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff is extremely helpful in helping you decide on what empanada you’d like to have. Multiple different empanadas are available. They constantly have new sweet empanadas to try. The food is always freshly prepared when you order so you may have to wait a bit depending on the size of your order but rest assured the wait is worth it.
The food here is awesome Ive been here multiple time and every time its amazing. Anything with sweet plantains is good. Also try the dessert empanadas! Every single one is awesome. My main complaint is I wish they would have someone go fill the giant holes in their parking area.
Food was phenomenal, staff was very inviting and warm, has different foods to accommodate all food palates, I was very hesitant to try, but once I did I will never go back to normal fast food. This place is a cute take on healthy home style fast food, and no one is complaining!!!! I recommend the rice balls!!!
Needed to get a large order together to feed about eleven people that had been working all week long and we hungry! The folks here helped us out talked me through all my options and ended up getting a ton of empanadas and rice and beans. Tasted amazing. Most of them were from out of town so they had no idea what empanadas were and they were hooked! Nothing left! Thanks so much!
The girl at the front desk was extremely rude. After sitting on the phone for my twenty minute drive I decided to walk in, the girl then didn’t even realize I was still on hold, nastily took my order and never put it through. Honestly she may have done me the favor the place looked rather dirty. Wouldn’t ever waste my time there ever again.
Empanadaville is my favorite place to visit with my friends when we are home from school, the combination plate with 3 empanadas of your choice with the sweet plaintains and rice and beans is immaculate. If you are looking to support local businesses you absolutely have to eat at empanadaville, the employees are friendly and the food is DELICIOUS, even the dessert empanadas, 11/10 can not recommend enough!!
2hrs waiting for our order on a friday night pickup! Placed the order (in person) at 6:50. The cashier told us that they were a “little backed up”, and it would take an hour for it to be ready. The order was ready at 8:46!!! Not even an “I’m sorry!” Honestly: Never again!!
These empanadas are filled with deliciousness. They reheat beautifully in the oven.My favorite is mac and cheese. My husband loves the shepherds pie. They always have such a variety. You will have to get a 10 pack then choose your favorite. Thank you for bringing a piece of Puerto Rico to Long island.
It’s so hard to find a food spot that your food taste like home cooking and Hot food .. this place for sure deserves more than a 5 star rating .. My Family will be going back soon .. Delicious wepaaaaa🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 Wish you the best on your business to keep growing and hopefully you can put a huge restaurant someday with some medalla beers and some Salsa music Boricua style 😂❤️
The food is really good but the lady that’s usually at the register has a nasty attitude. Makes me not want to go there anymore and I’m a loyal customer all the way from Melville. Don’t dare drive there and think that you’re going to put a phone order in after 8:20pm, they take their phone off the hook purposefully.
It appears that your establishment is in high demand. BUT...You are not equipping yourselves logistically in the aspect of food stock / menus / and manpower accordingly. No delivery service. Menu items are finished/depleted/unavailable. No menus, phone is either busy, or goes into a voice mail...My God!...my people...you have so much potential!...but...you waste it in A POOR BUSINESS PLAN Review how you are doing business guys. I have planned and gone forth with ordering from your establishment at least 5 times, and have only been successful Once. Sincerely...A fellow Borica
I have been to Empanadaville quite a few times. Its not a bad place. Its okay. I prefer my food spicier, more flavor, keep in mind this a personal preference not an attack on their food. I have been there at all different times (3pm and later) and there is never a big variety of already prepared empanadas (or anything for that matter) but they will make you whatever you want. Unfortunately, I dont want to wait for 20-30 minutes for an empanada, in my book empanadas are the fast food of Puerto Rican food, I just want to grab and go. Again, personal preference, I totally get their made to order philosophy. Also, I dont think they use a standard recipe which would account for the same item tasting slightly different the next time you order it.The big problem I have with this place is their arrogance. Was that a tip cup I saw on the counter? Tips are for exceptional service. Serving empanadas is their job, they do that for every person who walks in the door. Carry my bag to the car and then I will gladly tip you. Go above and beyond what is expected and then we can talk tip.And the sign that says, I will gladly serve you when you turn off your cell phone, I personally do not use my cell when in stores because it distracts me but I am sure most people who can operate a cell phone can do so while placing an empanada order. And if they cant, wouldnt it be nicer to say to the person, Im sorry Sir/Maam, I see you are busy, I will be happy to help when you are done? Dealing with the public is all about patience. There are other signs also that are a bit offensive. One says something like, we do not serve burritos, tacos....this is a Puerto Rican establishment. How about just saying something like, Oh, you want Mexican food, but since youre here how about you try some of our Puerto Rican food like rice and beans or chicken or I can make you an empanada that will make you forget all about Mexico! All those kind of signs are insulting to a lot of people, be nice. You will get more customers. There is one woman there who almost always looks pissed off. If I see her behind the counter I dont even go in there. But, there is one guy in there, Ive only seen him twice, who is super nice and friendly. I would go in there just to talk to him for a few minutes. There was a little Italian girl who was working there who is also very nice and friendly. The atmosphere isnt the greatest, it looks worn. And its really dusty. The little freezer is so caked with ice Im afraid to buy anything out of it because of freezer burn. And Id much prefer all Puerto Rican (and Im a white girl) music to the music they have playing from the back room, just to add to the ambiance. If you didnt know better while youre driving by, the place always looks dark, like its closed.Just a little suggestion for the owner, when the nice weather comes have someone stand out front with those little 2oz taste cups for people walking by with a few different empanada flavors in them, also, put a speaker outside with Puerto Rican music playing, you dont have to blast it, just let people know youre in there. Have an ongoing trivia game, weekly or monthly with questions about Puerto Rican history, offer a free whatever flavor emapanada to the first correct answer on the drawing day. Sell some emapanadaville t-shirts and visors and have wear a certain color t-shirt/visor into the store on this date and get 10% off your empanada order. In other words, make it a fun place to go.
All their food is amazing. Their empanadas are stuffed, flavorful and amazing. Their Pernil ( Roast Pork )with rice and beans are to die for. Ive been here several times and I can honestly say I have never had one bad thing there. Great food, Good prices, go check them out. Best spanish food place on Iong Island.
Went here for the very first time & it was just absolute unprofessional, very small, & SLOPPY with their customers. I pre ordered my food SO HOW DOES OTHER CUSTOMERS take what i ordered prior? On top of that THEY DID NOT HAVE ANYMORE OF ANYTHING I ORDERED NOR DID THEY CALL ME TO TELL ME, GET THE ORDER RIGHT OR SEE IF I STILL EVEN WANTED IT. THEY MADE WHAT THEY DID HAVE & BASICALLY THAT WAS OUR FOOD. I even asked the girl if i pre ordered HOW IS IT THAT PPL WHO ORDER AFTER ME are given what your calling customers are asking for leaving us w/o .. when its first comw first served. So when i asked for it, should have been put to the side for my order.. MIGHT NOT NEVER GO BACK NOT CAUS OF THE FOOD WHAT I DID HAVE WAS GOOD.. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE IS EXTREMELY POOR N CUSTOMERS ARE UNSATISFIED.
Delicious Puerto Rican food!! Tastes like youre eating Empanadas & Alcapurrias straight out of my mother & grandmothers kitchen. You can taste the home made sofrito! Can tell they put their love into each recipe. My husband, children and I love their food for a night we arent cooking because were getting the same quality and well seasoned food as if we cooked ourselves!!!
I just moved here not too long ago and cnt find many places to grab good bites but i read about this place on google maps and jetted over before they closed ...let me say i was not let down this is my new fav place around here!! They really kno what a real empanada is!! Cant wait to try em all!! :)
Ordered a chicken cordon blue and a cheeseburger empanada with the belief that each would have a decent amount of cheese in them. The cheeseburger may have had some small amount of cheese in it, but the Chicken Cordon Blue empanada was just dry. ville is better than the empanada truck up North of Sunrise highway, but nowhere near as good as the fresh empanadas at On the Border. Staging pre-cooked empanadas in a heat lamp display case likely killed off the freshness I was hoping for.

2019-01-26I have been coming here for a few years now as I live about 8 minutes away...I am a native Puerto Rican and so is my husband...I only come to this place for their empanadas, alcapurrias and their potato balls.....they have many different kinds of chicken, ground beef, shrimp, chorizo and pizza empanadas...they also have veggies only and dessert empanadas (flan, caramel apple, chocolate-banana & peanut butter, cookies & cream, smores, cheesecake, death by chocolate and more)...they also have roasted chicken, rice, beans, sweet and green plantains, chicken wings, French fries, nachos, fried corn fritters, and more...some desserts are limbers (puertorrican ices), cheesecake, flan (caramel custard), and churros...they sell combination plates and family party packs...my husband and I love their empanadas, alcapurrias and potato balls...they are absolutely delicious...they are made fresh when you order...my advice to you is call in your order as it takes between 15 to 25 minutes to be ready...their warmer is many times empty not because theyre out of food, but because they fry your empanadas when you order them...my only disappointment is the size of the fritters for the high price that you pay...I find them to be too small for the price...they should make them bigger...they only have a 3 stool counter for seating and an outdoor seating with two picnic tables that is not open in the cold months...they accept credit cards with a minimum of $10 purchase but CHARGE A 4% FEE...the staff has always been very friendly and helpful...their decor includes puertorrican traditional images...one flat screen TV...they have NO RESTROOMS...they have a ramp for handicap/stroller accesibility...street parking...I love their pink and purple walls...very cute...and looks like they took down that very unwelcoming DO NOT FLIRT WITH STAFF sign.....be mindful they are CLOSED ON MONDAYS...they advertise pasteles, gluten free options and catering on their website....overall I like this place...just give them a try!!! I am including in the pictures their address, phone number, website and schedule for your convenience...

2022-05-12Best empanadas I ever had. Love the pastelons. The empanadas have a lot of filling, thin wrapping, but flaky exterior.

2018-12-31Best empanadas ever! Generous portions of rice and beans. Only a few seats at a small counter to eat in, so better for takeout. Suggest calling ahead because each order is made fresh. This was our second visit and we will return whenever we are in the area again. Highly recommended.

2021-06-07This place makes delicious Puerto Rican food. I had other items off their menu but I ate them so fast I didnt get to take a picture. Their alcapurias, empanadas and flan are dynamite. I cant wait to go back! Potato ball (reyeno de papa) in first 2 pics along with rainbow cookie empanada.

2021-11-16We’ve catered from here twice and they did not disappoint. Mainly rice, gandules, sweet plantain, and pernil. Funny enough I’ve yet to try an empanada as we live in Medford and not so local but looking forward to it.
