I really like this place. First of all it’s very clean and all the food is presented in a very appetizing way. Plus it’s delicious, and they really make it nice. Bathrooms are very clean which is a plus. They have a great selection and a super positive attitude. Try the egg everything bagel… Best in Brewster for sure!

Best bagels you will find in the area - hands down. Super soft inside, chewy outer crust, toppings/seasonings are well distributed and its clear they take a lot of care with their bagel production. On top of that, their breakfast and baked goods are out of this world. Their black and white is the best black and white Ive ever had - super soft, awesome flavor, not dry or crumbly at all. The country breakfast on an egg everything bagel is the best thing Ive ever had. Anytime I visit home I bring at least a dozen bagels back with me.
Food is just ok. Got a large cup of coffee at $3.50 and it tasted like water. No good

Sometimes the service is good. Sometimes the service is bad. They are not good at taking orders. I asked for tomato on my sandwich and got shredded lettuce. I ask for extra mayo and I dont get it. Chicken salad is very dry. But I had bacon on a toasted bagel and it was excellent. Im not happy that they dont inform you they charge you a fee on your credit card.
Ive only been to the Brewster location. Great bagels IMO. Nice to have a bit of NYC in the downstate area. Have a great assortment of hot/cold heroes as well, which you could also do as rolls, wraps, or paninis. Also, you cant go wrong with the tasty assortment of breakfast sandwiches as well.
Now if you REALLY want the best bagels you have to come here! Great tasting bagels, fresh and friendly staff, too. They have tables and chairs both indoors and outdoors. Parking is pretty easy because they’re in the mall with plenty of free shared parking. Highly recommended!

We are from NY and everyone says NY city has the best bagels but I beg to differ. We always stop for bagels here if we ever pass by. You wont regret it!
This place is amazing! Delicious food, great coffee, friendly staff, and the most incredible coffee cake I’ve ever had. Literally. Try it. Made me feel alive again. Wish I could give a sixth star.
I’ll stick with Carmel Bagel. Prices are much better, owner is much more friendly.Baked goods here taste like day old.$12 for a bagel with lox and an extra charge for onion with hardly any lox. Couldn’t taste the lox at all.I won’t be back.

Order a turkey blt sandwich. I received a mess of a sandwich with grilled turkey for some reason. Dry impossible to eat greasy deli turkey. The only way I could eat the sandwich was to take it off. It was a very simple process because they only put 1 slice on my sandwich. Ordered many times and always great. Must have a new chef or something. Very nice ppl but this was egregious.
This was my third time in as I work next door. Waited for 5 minutes and was ignored. There were only 2 people ahead of me. There were 2 people working the counter. One, a younger girl, was having a discussion with a mother and son and picking out INDIVIDUAL bagels for their approval. She never even looked at me. The other lady was beginning to help the woman ahead of me but dropped everything to take phone orders. We were there first! Lousy customer service! Not likely Ill be back but since I work next door I will be happy to share my poor experience with my coworkers and others. Good luck, youre going to need it. You got one star only because I had to for this to post.
Went there for the first time and was not impressed at all. Three employees working behind the counter and still waited 10 minutes. When I asked if they had anymore everything and cinnamon bagels I was told we dont have anymore. Let me say one thing how can you be sold out at 9am. Poor selection. The Bagel Shop in the village is hands down much better.

The staff was closing, but tget made a late afternoon bagel lunch aft my 2nd vaccine & no lunch. So nice with good coffee and great NY bagels from 6a to 4p (?)
Wow! Place is immaculate and the food is great. I ordered the Vegan turkey club and it is delicious. Honestly, thank you for the food option, as they arent easy to come by. Best of luck!
Food is good, but similar to other reviews orders are frequently wrong which is frustrating. There are a few people that work there that are really good but unless you get one of them there is a 50/50 chance your order wont come out right. Again, food is delicious, but either staff needs more training or orders need to be double checked by a manager before going out. I originally wrote this review on yelp 5 months ago nd recently went this weekend....nothing has changed
Admittedly the bagels are good. However, the only thing that is consistent at this establishment is getting your order wrong. When you call, you’re either given an excuse or an attitude. No manager seems to be available on their “busiest” day to handle any of the operations. Highly disappointed.

You will never get a better bagel ,originally from the bronx this place is always fresh cooked at store ,warm in the bag for the ride home,so thankful there in brewster now, my favorite is egg everything 👍, there is another location in carmel
The people behind the counter are absolutely rude no matter when I went there, there is absolutely no customer service and the food is about average if not slightly above, I would eat there more often if it werent for the terrible staff, honestly a shame

This place is hit or miss...Ordered 2 Bagels 🥯 1 was two bottom of bagel and the other was 2 tops of bagel .And they messed up the order..Svc is very slow .They seem very disorganized today.But enjoy! 😁

SOOOOO much better than Tom Toms. Ill be back. I had their everything bagel, toasted dark, with salmon cream cheese. Apparently I was on a salty kick that day. Regardless, plenty of cream cheese - they didnt skimp. Much better menu, service, personnel and experience compared to what was there before.

2022-04-26Delicious smoothies, great salads, and amazing coffee (iced coffee has COFFEE ICE CUBES... incredible). Try a caramel iced latte, a chocolate strawberry protein shake, or the ready-to-go strawberry and mango salad... Those are my fav. Friendly service as well of course!

2021-06-24I truthfully have mixed feelings about this place.Id say 4 stars goes exclusively to the bagels and 2 stars for the staff and everything else.Bagels are pretty good. Nothing over the top but for sure the best in Brewster!The little farm housey vibes are pretty cool inside. Overall this place could be better than what it is.What I truly cant get past is the staff. Way too rude way too rushed. I completely understand the rush but no need to rush me into ordering and behind r u d e.Skip the omelette, skip the hash browns. Stick to the bagels and cream cheese. Theyre made fresh.Not a bad spot to be in this plaza just wish theyd be a bit better. Overall Id give a 3.5.Not bad. But also not a life changing location.

2022-05-08The people behind the counter are always extremely rude, like they are doing you a favor by taking their order. They constantly run out of bagels, rolls and then act like it’s the customers fault for not knowing their inventory at all times. Food isn’t bad but we have had enough of these guys. Dave’s next door makes a way better sandwich and they are really nice in there. Join the rebel alliance, no more evil empire!

2022-03-11I used to go to TomToms often. When Empire came along I went less frequently. I was willing to pay $1.00 per bagel at Empire as I would stop, buy, & enjoy a few bagels. I love bread & eat them in my car. They are fresh, plump, & good. Today I went to purchase 3 bagels & was told the cost is $4.05. ($1.35 each) What? Is inflation 35% ? I thought inflation was near 8% ? I pondered my purchase & decided to deny myself 3 bagels. With that said....did the employees receive a 35% pay raise? Maybe blame Russian wheat exports...but we know thats not the truth. You will lose customers......like me.

2022-05-31I have stopped at this establishment several times before, my last was this afternoon. Ordered a burger (medium well, to go), the place wasn’t all that busy so I waited for my order. Order took a good 20 minutes, no problem since I did order medium-well. I was staying with relatives 10 min away, sat down and took a bite to find that my burger was medium-RARE, and actually more on the rare side, not to mention the bun didn’t even seem fresh. Totally disappointed !! To add insult to injury they charged my card TWICE. I was able to stop there later and get that corrected. Sorry to say “Not a fan” of Empire Bagel

2019-11-21Amazing place! I always stop here when passing through this area, great breakfast, lunch, snack whatever you want just come in ask! They have great options for vegans/ vegetarians including cakes n stuff and a variety of drinks. Try the smoothies or a fruit bowl it’s amazing! Definitely will be back soon

2022-05-22Brewster location is the WORST one. They refuse to cut a bagel into 4’s. They don’t have napkins out for customers to use. Oh, and if you order a smoothie they don’t give you a straw, you have to walk around to get one yourself.All around horrible service.

2021-10-02Ordered a plain bagel and veggie cream cheese. Got home and opened my sandwich, the cream cheese all fell off the bagel in chunks and it was not veggie.
