We needed a car with A/C for a trip. Tom fixed us up with a beautiful, very clean 2019 vehicle. The rental process was quick and easy! Thanks to Tom and the rest of the staff at Hornell Enterprise!
Nice car and friendly staff. I do realize that the forms say to bring a major credit card, but it would probably be VERY helpful to also state that it means that if you are bringing a debit card the individual store may have other identification requirements (i.e. a recent utility bill, etc.). Many other retailers do not differentiate and so most of us are used to thinking of our bank card as being the same as a credit card ... it says MasterCard. Thanks!
Clean environment and pleasant staff. Had a few questions they were happy to answer, and even helped me get a vehicle reserved!

Worst experience of my life had just drove my son from sc to alfred ny. Got picked up by enterprise and the worker there starts insulting the way my son looks. After driving I notice the ac is not working and we have at least a 6 hour drive ahead. Call hornel enterprise no one answers and then voice mail comes on saying there closed. So me and my 3 year old daughter are dying in the heat. I decide to stop and get gas to make sure there is gas. Since the gas gage is not working put in a half a tank. Get back on major highway and tire blows we nearly get in accident. Had to wait nearly an hour for road side assistant then back track to get to another enterprise by time this ordeal is over I loose over 2 hours and money I just spent on gas. Looks like no one checked the car before giving it to me and my daughter.
Only four stars because the hours suck, prehistoric banking hours. Also regularly have no cars. Otherwise the staff is friendly and helpful. Have had a couple pick up and drop offs which was always good.
I rented a last minute car, literally the same day I needed the car rental and I was able to rent a car without a problem. However since I dont own a credit card, I had to show proof of income and bill payments, which I had, and they called my landlord just to confirm that all my payments have been made. I was nervous about renting a car because im only 22 and I have a NJ license which has probationary on it, and they didnt give me a problem for it. The underage fee was only about $20, which is the cheapest I have seen for any car company. I needed the car for one day and the total was about $110 with insurance and unlimited miles. Enterprise is the way to go for a car rental, especially if under 25.
I come into town to visit family at least once a year, and almost always rent a car here. We recently HAD to find a Suburban (needed that cargo space) to accommodate five adults and two toddlers for a wedding road trip to Virginia Beach. DAngelo was probably getting a little tired of me hounding him to find this vehicle for us, but he never let me know that during any of my calls or drop ins to check. : ) He did everything he could and, in the nick of time, was able to secure the right size vehicle that would make or break our trip. Hes a rock star, and is always very pleasant to work with!!
We are currently renting a ford expedition because my wifes car is at the shop after hitting a deer. My wife called ahead and set up for an awd or a 4wd vehicle as we live on back roads and hills of Howard and so does my parents which we visit daily to help them. When we picked it up we were told that we got this suv with what we asked, being country people we believed what they said and drove away no questions as I was thinking there was no switch that it is probably automatic 4wd. I was traveling up to my parents tonight up a snow covered road going slow only not to be able to climb the hill in this 2wd vehicle. After 5pm you cant call anyone to complain or switch out a vehicle. Now I drive my big truck anytime I need to take my family up to my parents because I feel a little leery of the suv I rented. Not happy at all.
Customer service was great. I would remove the buick (not sure what kind I had) from the full size vehicle list. It is not full size .Over all i am satisfied with this transaction
Warning about this facility, my son had his vehicle repaired and the other person’s insurance company set up the rental through Hornell Enterprise. When he dropped the rental back off after the repairs were made, they tried to charge his credit card $342 because he was underage (he is 21). This facility was in contact with the insurance company on a couple of occasions and did not tell them they were going to charge this extra charge. To top it off, the Hornell Enterprise agent said it was our responsibility to recoup the $342 for the charge from the insurance company. This should have been worked out from the beginning when they spoke to the insurance company. This has shady dealings written all over it.I filed a complaint through Enterprise about this is a shady deal at the Hornell Enterprise facility, will see what happens.JERRY WALTER

Says they are open till 5 but yet every time I go over from 3 to 4 they are closed... Never answer the phone after 4. Called ahead to tell them I would be there at 3:30 and no one was there. Very disappointed in the service and will never use again!

2022-06-23I got rear ended on 06/14/2022 and should have a rental through my insurance claim and here it is 06/23/2022 and I still have no rental. I was told I would have one on 06/21/2022 but that obviously never happened. Stuck at home with my two small children because they “can’t find” me a vehicle to rent. I am the least bit impressed and my Insurance company is also not impressed. This happened last year 2021 when I booked a reservation 1 month in advance to go on vacation and the day came to pick up the car and they magically didn’t have one. I don’t understand how this company is even in business.

2022-07-08Absolutely terrible. They dont answer the phone. Office is closed from 3-4 every day, even though the hours are until 5pm. No follow up on any of my questions. Id rather walk everywhere for a week than have to deal with this place again to get a vehicle.

2021-07-02Dealt with an Andrew who said he was in charge of the office. I made reservation online through enterprises website for a vehicle for a same day rent and return. I had a confirmation number and receipt from enterprise, a confirmation email with a link to pay ahead and give all of my payment info along with my drivers license info, which i used.I has a strange feeling and decided to call the location for pickup to confirm and he could see the reservation but didnt have the vehicle I had already confirmed, he told me he would look into it. After several hours i checked in having gotten no response and got another employee who said no problem we can take care of that for you we have another vehicle you can use so we should be all set, he then put Andrew back on the line and Andrew was very passive aggressive and showed no interest in taking care of our confirmed reservation. He then stated he couldnt help us because the type of card I had on file wasnt good enough for them as its a debit/credit card with a 25k limit. Instead of asking to use another card of which I had 2 others that are strictly credit cards one with a 5k limit and the other with a 15k limit, he just stated he couldnt help us and became sarcastic, I decided to hang up on him. Poor customer service!

2020-07-20Was renting through insurance company. Was told on phone ID need to pay a couple dollars a day that insurance didnt cover. Got ride there and travel 45+ min they want card on file. Dont tell me they going to try to pull money off so its declined. Then tells me 100 for deposit. Then wont take cash. Banks closed still would need to get to bank to deposit and come back. Then employee said he was the one I talked to and with attitude insisted he told me about the 2 something a day. But he never said anything about deposit and never tried to apologize for any mistake or inconvenience. I wont get a car from there!!

2020-07-14My 1st rental experience was wonderful & smooth... No issues & very kind helpful staff in Hornell. However on my 2nd experience but this time in Olean, was awful. After making the reservation & finding a ride to them (bc pick up service limited) they tell me they do not take prepaid cards like green dot or net 10 or chime. I extremely angered & refuse to ever use them again.

2017-08-17I frequently rent for work and personal use. All the staff there are friendly and helpful. They bend over backwards to make sure your experience is a good one!Location is convenient and now they are open on Saturday mornings! Rates are reasonable, especially specials, Just used the 9.99 weekend special for a trip!Keep up the good work!

2018-08-21I rented a Honda Tucson to vacation at Virginia beach with my family of 5 this past weekend. It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun. I would recommend it and plan to go again next year. Thank you enterprise for a fantastic rental experience. 😁

2018-11-03Enterprise was an absolute life saver. Brandon was incredibly accommodating, especially on a Saturday. He made sure that I wasnt left stranded without a car after hitting a deer. Even was able to get someone to pick me up in Stannards (John was a great driver). THANK YOU! Highly recommend this location!
