I have nothing but the best to say about Enterprise in Greenwich. I arrived late for my rental, so when I called ahead to verify I would still have a vehicle Mackenzie answered and politely assured me that I would have a vehicle for my trip. Then when I arrived I was met by Jessica, the site manager. She was both curious and professional. The entire process was seamless and quick and because they could not offer me a free pick up to/from my home to the rental agency they compensated me appropriately for a taxi ride - this is exactly the type of outstanding customer service that makes me a loyal Enterprise customer. I look forward to renting from this location for all of my vehicular needs.
I traveled from Brooklyn for this Enterprise because they were the best rate in the city; my local Enterprise refused to match. Manager called to confirm my reservation when they didnt have a minivan ready; I confirmed, and they swiftly found a minivan, brand new. Also offered discount for the sound system being buggy. Manager really wants happy customers.
Whenever possible I rent from Enterprise. The reservations are made online and the process is quick and easy. The two locations I use most often are Thompson Street in Manhattan and 21 Second Street in Jersey City, NJ. At both locations the service is efficient and the associates friendly and welcoming. The cars are clean and ready on time. I highly recommend Enterprise.
Great service and support. I rent a car nearly every week and the folks here do not disappoint. In general, Enterprise has a great booking and support resources. Ive tried Hertz and others in the city before, but Enterprise always has the best rates, cars and service. My only ask is that they open a location in lower manhattan.
When I arrived to pick up the car I asked about my companies corporate rate, the agent attempted to find my companies code, but was unsuccessful (Ive been to other locations where they easily found my company). He applied the regular rate for my car and sent me on my way. During my trip I was able to find the corporate code and called to ask if an adjustment could be made as the sales agent was unable to find it when he booked me. He did not allow me to adjust the rate and told me that there was no way to. Not a happy customer, Ill take my business to another location.
Our zipcar fell through the day of our trip, and we were fortunate enough to grab the last car from this branch. Jacob was awesome to work with and held the car for me while we rushed to get to the office before close. He was friendly, no non-sense, and considerate. McKenzie (hope I spelled it right) was also great at drop-off. Thanks everyone for such a smooth experience. Highly recommended.
Rented a car here on 6/11/18. Credit card system was down, they made photocopy of my card, which was weird. I got a fraud alert from my credit card company a few hours later. Enterprise was charging far in excess of what was in the rental agreement so I declined the charge. 10 days later I got a receipt saying everything was paid up so I didnt think about it again until I got a notice about a month later saying I owed the entire amount because they had reversed the charge to my card. I authorized my credit card company to pay it. They did on August 7th. Now Ive been going back and forth with Enterprise for the past 2 months as theyre saying they havent received it. Theyre threatening collections, but when I call they say I still have some wiggle room. My case has been referred to someone in their chargeback department named who wont return my calls. I can see this being a kind of perfect storm of bureaucracy mixed with incompetence and I would assume not the norm, but you know....beware, if something happens its a giant pain to deal with.
The Customer Service is definitely one of the best I have experienced. Thompson Street is my home and this office where I will rent all my cars.The Cars however, need to be updated a bit, GPS should come installed with the vehicle. This is especially necessary if the goal is to keep passengers and vehicles safe and avoid the use of phones for GPS.
Rented a car on line.. first time.. to collect and drop friends to Maryland (600 miles). Realised that the car I had selected was a bit small...no problem.. I got a Dodge Caravan! Needed GPS. . No problem.. sorted! Eazypass.. no problem! All of the people I encountered couldnt have been more helpful if they tried. They helped to make a moderately anxious event most pleasurable. Thanks😊😊
I had a car accident 2 days after Christmas in Manhattan. I was very upset and our insurance company booked a rental car with enterprise for us. They couldnt have been more wonderful. They picked me up at the scene and took me back to get the car. The car was wonderful and the manager spent time with me showing me all of the doo dads that this new car had to offer. I was able to get back to Pennsylvania And drop the car off where we live. It was definitely the lemonade from the lemons of the car accident. Enterprise was very supportive and great to me. Not a good first experience. I had a 1230 pick up time and waited until 130 when I finally got in my car. After driving away (5 minutes) in my Nissan Altima on my way out of the city for the weekend I was called by the Enterprise office I just left. Apparently the car I just drove off in had a recall. I had to return to the office and was left with a Chevy with half a tank of gas. Most likely trying another company, unless that is the standard?
Serious concerns regarding COVID-19 at this location. We rented two times in June of 2020 and none of the staff were wearing masks. Not the person that brought the car, not the manager, not when they see you and do a walkthrough.I called the regional manager to escalate it after the second time, but its clear that the staff in the location could not care less based on my interaction, so leaving this here for the benefit of everyone else.
My experiences at the Thompson street location have been fantastic. The manager Paul is always professional, kind and patient. When I rent I only go to this site because of him and the wonderful staff. I depend on them and they always deliver. Thanks guys for all you do to keep my family and me smiling.
This is my car rental company and location of choice. Staff is always professional and efficient. The location is good for getting out of the city easily with the Williamsburg Bridge. My one big complaint is that it closes at 7pm. Since Ive been recently renting the car for the day, its been difficult getting the car returned at that time. I usually miss it by fifteen minutes because of terrible rush hour traffic. I then need to find parking on the street in my neighborhood and get up early to return the car, which is all a BIG inconvenience. Please stay open until 7:30!!
They are very pleasant and nice but their policy of when rental is very bad I did my transaction it when thru but in their system said otherwise because my card was swipe a few times I could not get my rental I think their system should let the manager overide it and let it finish the transaccion again one more time
I have used Enterprise on several occasions across the country so I am listed in their database with my name, address and phone as well as drivers license. I needed in car in NYC for a day and made a reservation direct with the location the day before. When I showed up early in the morning to pick up my car, I was told that I had to have a NY drivers license in order to rent a car. They said it was A State Requirement I told them that I have rented from NY airports many times in the past and never had an issue. They said If you came in on a plane then they would rent to you HUH? So thinking what they said was correct (Which it wasnt) I paged Uber to take my to EWR airport to get a car their. While waiting I decided to call the local Avis whom I have rented from in the past as well. They said nothing I was told by Enterprise was correct and they would rent me a car which they did. To top it off both girls were rude and non apologetic. Enterprise I will never rent from you again
Enterprise in Greenwich Village is the best! You can have a terrible office or a great one. If you need a car speak to Bill. What a pro. The other people in the office are truly wonderful. But dealing with Bill and you will be out in 15 minutes with a great car. Best of the breed.
It’s always a pleasure no matter what state I’m in. But I want to give a recommendation for an employee name Robert, he’s located at the 221 Thompson st location in Manhattan NY. This young man always go over and beyond his job duties to ensure the customers are happy and satisfied.
The RUDEST middle aged women working on reception needs to find a new job. I have had awful experiences twice now and although I live in the neighborhood I much prefer to go to the Chelsea location as I hire cars frequently. Enterprise you seriously need to look at the Greenwich Village location as an example of how not to run a business.

2021-09-17I always have a great experience at Enterprise. They bend over backwards to provide great service and this location was no exception. I arrived almost two hours before my reservation and still got my car with no problem. I noticed some tree sap on the hood that I thought looked like damage (I didnt want them to think I damaged it when I returned it) and they rewashed the entire car in like 5 minutes. Always great service.

2021-11-06I highly suggest no one, and I repeat no use rentals from enterprise on 221 THOMPSON street. I was issued an a rental with Expired Registration since June, 3Oth. I was in a car accident with lower pack pains. They issued the rental to me on November, 1 2021. The next day I woke up the car was gone, it was towed. I call 311 to check, afterwards I call enterprise to let them know the registration was expired and it has been towed. So I asked them are you going to issue me another rental because that’s they’re fault the registration wasn’t up to date. They told me no until the rental comes back.November 2nd went by no attempt made or no call back. November 3rd I call enterprise still no attempts made i even went to enterprise and drop the keys off in pain barley can walk. I had to do what I could do there was nothing being done. November 4th call again still no attempts made and no car issued. Now I’m in pain and frustrated because I’m postponing orthopedic appointments. Now it’s November 5th and still no attempts made or no one even trying to help me at all.Now I’m fed up, so I call State farm to notify them of the situation. So StateFarm decided to call enterprise at that location and still enterprise rejects to cancel the contract. So now I’m in pain and have postpone my orthopedic appointments. But I was issued a rental with expired registration since June, 30th now we in November. Some on please help! me here!

2020-11-11*COVID-19 concerns at this location*I just returned my car and would like to point out a couple of things that I find unacceptable. First off, the car was non-smoker but at pick up the car had what looked like cigarette ash on the dashboard and a very pungent odor akin to a smoker vehicle. We had to keep the AC off during our 2 hour drive to upstate to ensure we weren’t nauseated. To add, visible splatter marks were on the steering wheel, back seat of the car, and some parts of the windshield. We stopped at a rest area and used our Clorox wipes to get rid of the residue from the previous driver. There was also dirt on the console and it seemed like no cleaning was done when we received the rental. I’d like to escalate the situation as I feel like in the “covid-era” a high touch item like a vehicle should not just be carelessly looked over in sanitation. To add, the car did not feel mechanically sound. The transmission had an aggressive clunk when accelerating at times, and whirring from the front tire under low speeds.Overall, it just felt like an unsafe experience commuting with this vehicle and I’d hope with the current state of the rentals market, these situations aren’t common.

2021-02-05Enterprise Rent-A-Car deserves 0 stars. They are a terrible business but a worse neighbor. The cars they rent are over priced, the staff they employ are rude and they treat their neighbors horribly. How? Have you ever tried to walk by their store on the public sidewalk? Half the time they have rental cars parked on the sidewalk blocking pedestrian traffic as their staff tries to upsell renters on extras. Do you want to park in your own neighborhood? You wont park anywhere near Enterprise because they park their rental cars on the street even though they are located in a parking garage. They basically transact more than half their business on the street and sidewalk. Use another NYC rental car company and let this business know you dont support businesses that are terrible neighbors.

2017-07-16Amazing customer service. Quick pick-up and drop-off with minimal wait. As a first time Enterprise customer (I am an Avis Preferred Customer due to company policy), I was truly impressed with Enterprises ability to prioritize and meet customer needs. Due to vehicle availability, staff and site manager upgraded me at no additional cost to ensure that I was able to get to my destination on time. Avis rarely ever did this for me. Superb!!

2019-08-20The mid size SUV I rented had been previously rented by a smoker. The inside windows were streaky from smoke which made night driving uncomfortable, the car smelled like old smoke which was yuck, and there was a cigarette burn hole in the (otherwise grubby) driver’s seat. The staff were very professional and nice however this was the only car available to me. I would have much preferred a replacement clean vehicle to a discount. I don’t know how to avoid this in the future — seems like there is no guarantee that a car will be clean and in good shape.

2018-09-26I had an excellent experience renting from this branch of Enterprise, from beginning to end. One thing I would strongly recommend is to join their membership program (free) before renting. This will greatly smooth the rental experience and may provide easy car upgrades (at no cost) when vehicles are available.

2016-05-11My first experience here was pretty great, the staff was nice and everything went smoothly. My second trip however was not as pleasant, the woman helping me wouldnt let me use my company card (only my company name is on it) which was bit frustrating because I had been able to use it before. The car they pulled out for me wasnt as nice as ones I had rented in the same class but not a big deal since it was only a day rental. The worst part was returning to the garage, it was a total mess trying to get back in and I had to pull in and back up three times, holding up traffic because the guy working for the garage was trying to move everyone around. Eventually I was able to pull in and since no one was in the garage I just put the car in a random spot and went into the office. I wish there was a better system. Overall it wasnt terrible but also wasnt the friendly, easy service Ive come to expect from Enterprise.

2015-11-30This is my primary rental place in NYC and I have a great experience every time. ONCE tried to give me a dirty upgrade SUV on a holiday weekend when they got an alert the car I rented had a recall. I got in, got right back out and said no thanks. I was quickly given another vehicle and all was fine. They alway ask about the trip and the car after the rental. Never a bad experience!
