Enterprise Rent-A-Car in other cities:
Update 3/7/21: Staff as well as management continue to be very helpful if you should run into an issue or have a concern with your rental/experience. Impressed with customer service!-----------------------------------------------Friendly staff. Arrived first thing on a Sunday and there were a few options available.
Great experience with enterprise. CK and Luke have been immensely helpful in the process. Very efficient and customer service is amazing! No complaints! Just a tiny recommendation for the future if they could give customers a courtesy call if insurance extends a rental car time period. That’s probably also poor communication from insurance, but someone should call!
Rented a pickup at this location. I videotaped before and after the entire vehicle inside/out including reading displays. I returned it with a full tank of gas and then I noticed on my credit card that they charged me with a tank of gas. I notified corporate of the scam and offered to give my evidence. Why would you people scam? What kind of brain processing do you people have to cheat people. Work for your money and stop stealing. So embarrassing.
I had a great experience with this location. I usually get the most economic of choices when I rent a car, but it wasnt available when I arrived. The agent that assisted me upgraded me to the next best thing at no additional cost. I appreciated it and was happy for the opportunity to drive a different style of vehicle. When I called them the next day to extend my rental a day, the agent on the phone got it done in less than a minute. My only suggestion is that they might need 1 or 2 additional agents to assist with pickups/dropoffs during the late afternoon.
I am very upset with the outcome of my first time renting here I was given a dirty car gas was on empty and I called and asked why to the manager when he was on break I was told by a girl that in quote DO WE LOOK LIKE WE HERE DETAILING AND GIVING YOU FREE GAS CALL BACK LATER HE NOT HERE AND HUNG UP ON ME very rude staff they have working here I will never go here again when Im in town bad for business you really need to hire someone that has respect for customers I spent $400 here never again 1 star
I have been a loyal enterprise customer for many years but I will be using other companies whenever I am Syracuse.I booked a 31 day reservation. Instead of Joe Moore telling me I needed to be book a 2nd reservation (New York only allows a 30 day reservation) he spent the whole time trying to get me to get the extended warranty. I happened to randomly find out a week before my rental was due that he had checked out my rental to me for 30 days.I drove all the way back to the airport where he closed out my old reservation and created a new one. He told me I would get my rental agreement by email and provided his email address in case I didn’t get it. I emailed him the same evening cause my new rental agreement never came but never heard back. I emailed the branch specifically but still nothing. I tried calling customer service many times and they claim it is only someone at the branch who can help me. And of course, they don’t pick up the phone at the branch.I had prepaid for my gas when I picked up the car. I have to return the car tomorrow and I have no idea what Joe did with the gas when he created a new reservation. I have no doubts it is a ploy to try to get me to pay more if I return the car empty.Joe had tried to get me to go back home and extend my contract by email when I went to the airport the 2nd time around. Thankfully I didn’t listen to him and insisted on getting it done right there and then. I can’t imagine what a nightmare it would have been since he can’t respond to a simple email and provide a copy of a contract I am entitled to.Bunch of sloppy people with poor customer service. I would gladly spend my money somewhere else.
The only reason I cant give this location 5 stars is because they NEVER have a good selection of cars. This particular location seems popular so I just dont understand why they dont have more inventory. There customer service is great (Zoey helped me, a tall gentlemen offered to look into cars at a Mr. Tire and a nice woman with a forearm tattoo helped me straighten things out). I appreciate what the staff at this enterprise did to help me get into a vehicle today.Thank you!Just please more cars!!
I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ENTERPRISE, the reason being is because of one of their employees who decided to try and make our experience way more stressful then it needed to be. My wife and I were denied a further rental even though complying and taking care of all late fees in full for an extension. I just needed to rent a vehicle until my car was finished in the shop . This one particular rep decided to have casual conversation with us and Then took extra steps to deny us for a car based on that casual talk. Thank goodness for JESSICA an excellent sales rep with great customer service skills and “know how “with dealing with not only our situation but the customer experience in general . She came to our rescue . Only after explaining our situation to Jessica she was able to accommodate us and only because of Jessica’s initiatives to intervene I decided not to escalate this to corporate or higher . I’m not usually the type of person that writes reviews but after this horrible experience turned great by Jessica and Connors helpful attitudes I had to past on my experience . I am grateful that Jessica offered to coach the previous rep in order to prevent this from happening to another costumer . When going to this location, you should ONLY!! look for Connor or especially JESSICA!.
The renter requirements for Debit Card/Money Order users are very deceiving on the Enterprise website. When you go to the branch for pickup, it’s like the staff make up rules as they go along. According to the website, it clearly states “ the address must be within 50 miles of the renting branch OR the renter’s driver’s license is from the same state where the rental branch is located.” I was turned down because I’m from Rochester, NY which is still in the SAME STATE. The staff did nothing to make any accommodations since THEY deceive people on THEIR website. They treat customers better with credit cards. Just because you qualify for a credit card doesn’t mean you have enough credit on the card for a rental.
I have been using Enterprise since 2011. I have always had a GREAT experience with them. This time was just the same. They made sure that I had what I needed. They also found out that my vehicle was totaled and asked me if I would like to hear from someone at their sales location. They also checked in as usual to make sure that everything was good and if I needed anything. Everyone is always very nice. The big fact that I love is they are family owned and operated. Their customer service is the best.
Enterprise is fantastic! My car was hit, and needed to be repaired. The repair shop and insurance co. set up the rental for me, and when I dropped my car at the repair shop, Enterprise was right across the street, and already had my rental waiting when I arrived, and I didnt have to wait in line or anything. The car was clean, didnt stink like air freshener or anything else. When I was done with the car, the repair shop returned the rental for me. Enterprise people were super nice, easy to talk to, offered all sorts of help and let me know they were available if I had any problems at all during the week I had it. Ive rented from them countless times before, and they have always been very nice, courteous and CLEAN. Their shops are clean, and their cars are clean; Ive never EVER had one that smells like cigarettes. And their prices are pretty competitive.
I have used Enterprise for many years now for both business and personal purposes. The services I have received and cars that I have used have always been top notch. With my recent car rental however, the Nissan Rogue that I was provided literally reeked from the smell of POT. One of the reasons I have repeatedly used Enterprise is because the no smoking policy they have and is clearing spelled out in the rental agreement and in the vehicle. For a non-smoker using a car that has the smell of smoke is not pleasant and this experience was way beyond pleasant. We even tried to air the interior our and purchased an air-freshener, but in 10 days it only slightly diminished in the odor. Looking back I should have just returned the vehicle as soon as I noticed the conditions. This is one experience over the many rentals that I have had, but it will cause me to consider other options for the next time.
Book a 12 passenger van a month and half ago needed it for family of 10 they doubled book the van cause they say they tryed get ahold of me but never did had same phone number 8 years never missed a call or text now I’m outta luck will never rent with this company again very poor business even called customer service they said it was the people at the desk fault no good don’t use thes people
Thank you to the staff at Enterprise on West Genesee Street for providing me with such an awesome rental experience! Fast and easy. I also received a free upgrade from a full size car to a large SUV! I always receive excellent service and will definitely rent again. Also thank you to the manager for being so helpful!
Great Service! I was super pleased with my whole experience. I got a free upgrade since they didnt have the vehicle type I requested available and I got a great price as well, especially considering Im a young driver. This was the first time I have ever rented a car but I will definitely be returning here again next time Im in need. Wonderful experience!
I have been leasing cars from this Enterprise location for a few years now. The service is exceptional and they are all always so polite, professional and accommodating. Their convenient location is also a great plus! I highly recommend Enterprise for all of your car rental needs!
Reserved a rental with a pick up. Waited 20 minutes, no pick-up. Called the office, talked to Carlos. He said he would alert the driver. No explanation, no apologies. An hour after the original pick-up time, nothing. I canceled the rental car because even if the driver showed up, I didnt have time to pick up the car and get to my destination on time. So I drove my own car. My first rental from this same location back in June was also less than 5 stars. Ive been renting from Enterprise for the past 20 years, Ive never had this bad of an experience.
We recently rented an SUV in the Syracuse (West Genesee Street office). It was a minor emergency situation, so there was some stress involved. The staff in this office earns top marks from me! Their customer service is fantastic; when they found about our situation they did everything in their power to take care of us. Angelo, the manager, and truly all of the staff there were kind and compassionate and just really did their utmost to make sure we were happy with the rental terms, the vehicle, and the price. When we pulled out of our slippery driveway in a snowstorm the next morning, we both were relieved and thankful for that Enterprise crew.
I dropped my rental off Saturday and completely forgot about my bowling balls and bag in the trunk. Went there this morning before I went to work about 7am and saw an employee cleaning one if the cars. Even know the place was still closed he let me on and went to see if someone found the bowling balls. . Everyone was more than friendly as I waited . A couple minutes later he came in with my bag. Thanks to the whole crew you have excellent customer service
One of the key remotes doesnt work since i got the car. My friend had the same car at the same time but i was charged $50 more. I needed to extend my rental and when i called to do so the person i spoke to asked me to come in the next day to renew it and when i did they charged me for a extra day taking it out of my deposit. They said nothing about taking it from my deposit when i could have came in the day before but he asked me to come in the next day. When i said i was asked to come the next day why is it coming out of my deposit i get told i dont know. When i called customer service i was just transferred and then hung up on.
I used to be a loyal customer of this Enterprise branch until now. They always provided me excellent service but lately I have seen them changing. They are very friendly when you come to pickup the car but its not the same when you return it and I havent just seen it once but for the past 3-4 times. This time they took it to a whole another level by cheating me. I had rented the car for a week and while returning back they were charging me for 2 extra days. Not only that but I had a past credit of $68 which I requested them to use it in this transaction but they only used $50. Fortunately I checked that and asked them about it to which they said they would refund it in 2 weeks. Until now I never had to check the bill summary from Enterprise but not any more, I dont trust them anymore. Also the car they provided me had some problem in its tire and I had to exchange the car the next day for which they werent even apologetic. I would not rent a car with this branch anymore, maybe switch to Budget/Avis.
Enterprise and their helpful staff were a pleasure to work with! They were very considerate of my situation, even with very limited vehicles for the day. They managed to find the perfect truck for me to rent on the spot at a very fair cost. I was beyond pleased with my experience with Enterprise; they were honest, efficient, and truly made my day!
My experience prior to this rental was very positive. This time, not so much. I had requested a full size car and when I got to the rental location (on time) there were none left. I had to wait 45 minutes while they transported one from the airport. They did take me to run a quick errand, which helped, but it certainly wasnt ideal. The car was pretty dirty, with receipts and notes from the previous renter still in the car. The car I was given also had no CD player. I had several books on CD I had brought for the drive but was unable to listen to. The one bright spot of the experience was the young gentleman who picked me up. He was very professional and I enjoyed dealing with him.
Staff was very polite and professional. They were 30 minutes late picking me up but, I wasnt in a hurry so it wasnt a big deal to me. The only thing I could ask for more is maybe a little more knowledge of the cars. The car I had was good on gas mileage but rode very rough and was uncomfortable for the amount of driving I had to do through the labor day weekend. All in all it was a good experience and I plan on renting again.
I have rented cars through the West Genesse location numerous times while my car was being worked via my insurance company. Every time I have rented a car from this place it has always been super dirty inside and outside, I have watched them clean a car that someone has just returned and they rinsed it off and put it back out on the lot to be rented again by someone else. I found that to be disgusting and unprofessional. The coupons are pointless because you can only use them on the cars. I was already granted a full size car via the insurance and when I went to us an upgrade I was told I could not because the upgrade coupon was only good for cars and I was already at the top of the line car. I find that to be ridiculous and a waste of a coupon. what is the point of having a double upgrade coupon if I have to be in a compact car first to get to the use the upgrade. The car I am in now smells like smoke really bad I have to drive with the windows done all the time to be able to breathe. My daughter and pregnant wife get sick to their stomachs in this car. I am super displeased with the professionalism of this company and this current store. I would recommend going to Hertz for any rentals. This company is Sub-par at this location and their rating reflects the quality of business theyre providing to their customers here. Also the wait time here is very high there were at least 3 people sitting in the back while 2 people tried to help 9 people and one of the 2 was a new employee. Customer service is lacking here.
Upon returning my rental an Enterprise associate miraculously discovered lower damage to part of a bumper and proceeded to blame me for that damage. WHICH I HADNT DONE! There was never a proper walk through with an associate and I was told the preppers check when they hose down (not hand wash) the vehicles. If I had thoroughly done my own check of this vehicle beforehand the claim would not have been levied on me...this is definitely not a business where you receive HONEST service...Renters beware check and video your rental encounter with this company. SHAME ON THEM!
We rented a minivan to transport our young family of six on a 9-hour drive for a holiday weekend vacation. Everyone we encountered was exceptionally nice and personable from the driver who picked me up from work, to the rep who processed our rental, and the agent who followed up after we returned the vehicle. Ive been renting vehicles for nearly 20 years and this was one of my most pleasant experiences.
My dad rented a car from these guys very recently. The service was quick, they were very nice, and he left something in the car when he returned it and they made sure he got the item back. The only reason they don’t get a 5 star is because the parking lot is really really small.TLDR if you can drive in a small parking lot, these guys are the place to go to
THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! My husband and I have used Enterprise for over thirty years. They have always been our first choice. Business or personal. If this location is any indication we may never choose them again. We own a little grocery getter in spite of having a large family. For family outings and vacations we rent a larger more comfortable vehicle. This location took close to an hour to check us in and then informed us that we could not leave our vehicle there. We have never been refused this courtesy anywhere. What a waste of time. Now we are driving our grocery getter for several hundred kilometres. Avoid this location. Not only that....I listened to them try to upgrade a guy to a truck because it was covered on his insurance. I dont know how many different ways the man said I dont want a truck before he ended up leaving with one just to get out of there. This location is about money only. They have no interest in meeting the customers needs.
Carlos is great, He has always been helpful and always professional THANKYOU Carlos, however I find Adam (District Manager) to be very rude and unprofessional And shows no appreciation for your platinum tier members, you can thank Adam for the 3 star.Update: 11.09.2020This is now the worst place to rent a vehicle in Syracuse, take it from a platinum member. I spent over $8000 here alone in the year of 2020 and they just lost all future business and recommendations.
After a rough start to our rental experience, Angelo went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We cant say enough about the amazing customer service he demonstrated. I have never had a bad experience with Enterprise until this time but Angelo worked some magic and made it a positive exerpeince overall.
Enterprise was very nice and fast. They gave me a clean well equipped automobile and i couldnt ask for a better price. I thank Enterprise for being there when i needed them and I will definitely use them again when or if i need another rental. Thank you, job well done Enterprise.
For the most the Agents were friendly. They are quick to rent out cars, however they can benefit by servicing garbage vehicles. I booked a reservation online, called to confirmed but was given a higher rate. My rented vehicle took a very long time to blow heat and had mechanical and electrical problems. The car cut off twice and I was without heat. It was a huge snowstorm during my week of rental, therefore I did the best I could with the unreliable vehicle. Overall Ive had better experiences in the past.
Had a bad experience while picking the car , even though I had a reservation they were not able to find a car for me which I booked and I have to wait than usual (~1.5 hrs ) to settle with a lower standard car. Also the car I got had some issues and was not looking very safe while driving in highway.
Rented a car from this location on May 24 for 2 hours and dropped it off in another location(scranton PA)The car was exactly the same condition when i took it. There was a little scrap on the passenger side door and I pointed that to the employer before i drove off. The following day i have received a call from them telling me the car in the great condition and they will refund the deposit and only charge for the rent. Yesterday, I have received a letter by mail from damage recovery unit, stating that the car have a damage and they ask me to provide details!!!. I dont know what damages they are talking about. I only used the car for two hours. I went to the Syracuse location today, demanding an explanation. They told me I should not worry about it because i had a daily coverage from them and their insurance will covers the damage. Totally not a professional and good response. They should provide an explanation for the letter regardless if I have the coverage or not. This is an advice to anyone who is planning to rent a car from them, take pics from every side and angle before you pick up the car and dont rely on their employer.
My experience wasnt too bad...but what I really really find distasteful is that when I returned the car, I found on my receipt a charge for insurance which I specifically did NOT want to purchase at the time I picked it up. Ever since, I have continuously contacted Enterprise but have not receive one response from the local office nor the national office except that they have received my request and will contact me back later..... What kind of business is this that they will add more charges to your bill after you return the vehicle even though you made it clear that you did not want to pay the charges? I understand that I probably will not get the charge reversed but honestly couldnt someone have the decency to at least contact me to advise this???
I rented from Enterprise for a weekend trip.I was extremely happy with my experience at Enterprise. They took care of me right from the time i walked in the door. Brett was great! He was very professional and polite. I was offered a free up grade but i passed this time. The Economy car i rented a, Nissan Versa was, was immaculately clean and comfortable as the atmosphere of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Thanks Enterprise.
Much like other stories around damages/insurance claims, this branchs true colors showed when I had to return a vehicle whose windshield cracked due to extreme temperatures.First: They tried to strong-arm me with legalese to try and force me to give them my primary insurance, when I had third party insurance specifically for the rental. Upon repeated requests of proof of this requirement and disbelief as to why I would have to suffer a ding to my personal insurance, they eventually stopped asking about it and let it slide. Guess they didnt know what they were talking about?Second: The junior employee there was poorly trained and extremely aggravating. While we were trying to sort out this insurance stuff, the youngster literally had no idea what he was talking about. He would turn around, ask his manager, and repeat his answer like a parrot. When your employees dont know what theyre talking about, please bring in the manager who was in the back room chatting it up with another employee and stop wasting my time.Poor professionalism and transparency all around. Especially for a no-fault incident, I felt like I was defending myself against a corporation for no reason. Terrible experience.
I was charged for a full sized car, was given a compact car & was told money would be put back on my card. Then after I returned the car , I called to complain about the money still not being on my account. Carlos told me the money would be on my account in 1-2 days. Here it is a week later and nothing. Carlos answered again & argued with me that there was nothing more he could do & that everything was already correct.
I have rented from Enterprise before and my experience has typically been very good. Unfortunately that was not the case with my last rental. The car I was given was dirty (food stains on the center console...like spilled drinks and pieces of food), the steering wheel was sticky, the brakes squeaked, one of the air vents broke, and I was provided incorrect information regarding the insurance. Thankfully the manager corrected the insurance portion which I appreciated. However, the car left much to be desired.
These folks seem well-meaning but overwhelmed. Told them twice, in advance, where I needed to be picked up, and they said itd be no problem. Waited half an hour (most of it on hold listening to Enterprise advertising) and, when I finally got through, they told me they never send a van until the customer calls. Hmmm. If you need a ride to rent your car, youre probably better off with an Uber, maybe to a different rental agency. If youre not in a hurry, though, these folks are nice enough, and the car I got, though not quite what I wanted, drove well.
Very disappointed in their service! I live in Ohio and was trying to get my daughter a car that the insurance company had reserved for us at this location. I called and talked with a staff member and told them my daughter would be calling in the afternoon to make arrangements for her to get the car we had reserved. She called and left a message with another staff member who said she would be called back shortly. They never called. I called back and talked to another staff member they preceded to argue with me that we never called. I told them we did twice and we had a reservation, they would not listen. They proceeded to tell me we can get a car on Friday, 4 days later then reserved, mean while Im in Ohio my daughters in Syracuse with no transportation. Left messages for 3 days with different staff members yet no return call. Would definitely not recommend this store or maybe not even Enterprise at all. They can take a reservation but they can not keep it!
Booked a reservation and it was not kept. I was not picked up per request. I got a confirmation email and all. Not the best experience but not the worst. I received a Nissan forte I got stuck in the snow twice, the wheels on the vehicle were not equipped for the weather. All in all, its a good company but make sure you confirm the details multiple times before hand as to avoid confusion when you arrive. I was not the only one either.
Excellent customer service. Reasonably speedy with getting out the door, and return paperwork. The service agents were all very personable and helpful the entire time. My issue stems from the Fiat 500x I chose to rent. I now understand why Most rental vehicles are plain-Jane cars & SUVs. This Fiat had a number of little issues that really bugged me. Yes, I do understand what FIAT stands for, and thats why this is a four, and not a three or two star review. I was THAT frustrated with the car, but I dont hold it against this location specifically. It was a bad choice on the part of management to have this car as a part of the fleet.
My vehicle was in shop due to another party fault. I drive an SUV daily. So I asked enterprise because I use my vehicle for work carrying tools, and equipment if they provide me a suv. They completely did not care and offered an economy car because insurance was paying for it. Excuse was its a way to get around from a to b. I had to negotiate and argue for an hour between insurance company and enterprise to end up with a full size car at the end. This reservation was made ahead of time, and yet I still had to wait over an hour at genessee st location for this car to be picked up. Finally got car, was told the oil change was done, but they did not reset the computer. Mean time driving this nissan, the tire sensor lights going off, the oil maintenance light n message going off. Obviously they did not do the pm on this vehicle.. or they are too lazy to take 5 minutes at their own mechanic shop they have to reset the computer. The key fob wouldnt work half the time. Car would not read the fob to lock/unlock start the car. I had to bring this car back twice for them to check it out. Finally on 2nd time bringing it back I received an upgraded car I requested which I paid for out of pocket. This car was fine. Was not satisfied with the 1st vehicle, nor the wait for the vehicle, and then the carelessness of customers. I was not only person to complain. Another lady returned her suv because it smelled like cigarette smoke. Enterprise should team up with insurance companies and tell them that if a customer drives this class of vehicle, thats the type the insurance should pay for them to continue on with daily life. Not just give them anything because they want to be cheap! Plus they didnt add on my rental car points to my membership. Very frustrating when going to this location.
Prior to COVID-19, I rented cars from Enterprise on Genesee Street on a regular basis for work travel [3-4 times a month]. Generally, I would say the experiences have been fair to modest. Never great experiences as there are always new employees working at the location. However, being close to where I lived played a major role in my continued use of this particular Enterprise.Over the past 4 years, I would say I have rented from Enterprise close to 50-60 times. During these rental experiences, I have rented cars with little to no gas, no window washing fluid [or very little], low engine oil or low air pressure in the tires. Vehicles for the most part have had clean interiors.Having rented vehicles so often, I was able to accumulate enough points to become an Enterprise Plus member. This allows me to rent vehicle using for free using the points accumulated over time.I rented a vehicle early in the day on August 28th using some of my points. The reservation was made so that I was to pick up the vehicle from the Genesee location later that day or around 4pm as I had to be in Rochester by 5/5:30. When I went to pick up my vehicle, the attendant was helped me was hasty and noted they did not have the vehicle on hand. The online system allows you to book vehicles even though they may not be on hand or available to rent. After several delays, the issue was escalated to the on-duty manager. The on-duty manager noted that after “checking” said they have a vehicle available at their route 11 location in North Syracuse. They offered to provide me a shuttle ride to this location, which I agreed to since you can’t leave your own vehicle at any of their locations. After being dropped off and checking in at the route 11 location it was determined that the route 11 location did not have any rentals available. I learned this well after the shuttle service had left, thus I became stuck at the route 11 location. While waiting for 15 minutes in trying to figure out what to do next, a vehicle was returned. However, I could not use my points because I would have to cancel them and rebook through the route 11 location. Attempting to do this on a cell phone did not work. Suffice to say I then had to pay out of pocket for something I should have been able to use my earned points. By the time I hit the road, it was well after 5, pushing my entire trip well off schedule. The Genesee location did not once call during this ordeal or after to apologize of even to bring me back to the Genesee location. While on the road during this trip, I had to call their corporate office to have my points refunded so I could use in the future. They would not allow me to use them for that noted trip. I also asked that a manager follow up with me the next business day or week on the experience. I am still waiting for that follow up.Suffice to say this was a horrible experience with Enterprise, which is also most likely also my last rental through them. Even with the points accumulated through my Enterprise Plus membership, my future bookings will now be reserved through Avis….
Had an intermediate reservation for Friday - my work car was hit by a rock kicked up by a semi, and needs a new windshield due to a softball sized crack. I show up, they try to put me in a compact, a Fiesta. I need the extra space as I work out of my car five days a week, so I decline. They tell me to come back the next day, so I do. There are no cars available that day - they put me on a handwritten “waitlist”, I don’t ever get a call from anyone.I call first thing the next day as soon as they open, and am told they have a car for me. I show up, they tell me they’re washing a car for me and to have a seat and wait. I sit and wait for about ten minutes, and then the rep takes me outside to a lot across the street to a car that clearly had not just been washed, and put me in yet another compact, an Accent, that smells like cigarette smoke and has mismatching wheels. At this point, I’m done. I won’t be back to this branch, ever.
I hit a deer in early November. At the accident scene i got on my phone and made an immediate reservation for a car . The sherriff was kind enough to drive me to the agency. I got a good rate on a weeks rental using my Enterprise Plus membership. My car was deemed a total loss from the accident. This turned into a 6 week long rental until I could acquire a new car. On the third day i returned the original small rental for a larger, safer car. The salesman said, hey lets do direct pay with your insurance. Fine I said, a bit more convenient. Even though my insursnce company is quick to reimburse. As well, Id lose my credit card purchase rewards points. But, what was truly unfortunate was he did not tell me that this would cause my rates to go up and I would not get any credit on my Plus Rewards account. When I figured out I was paying higher rates and called him out, he said dont worry. Youre not paying for it your insurance is. The heck Im not paying for it i pay big money year in year out to my insurance company.I put in a request to the home office to get the reward points credited. I was eventally told that because I did not directly pay for the rental i will ABSOLUTELY NOT GET REWARD CREDIT, THESE ARE THE TERMS OF THE POLICY. NO ONE AT ENTERPRISE IS CAPABLE OF ADJUSTING THIS..I GAVE THEM OVER $1800 IN BUSINESS AND THEY DENY ME THESE POINTS, REALLY?FOR THE REST OF MY DRIVING DAYS, EVEN IF IT COSTS ME MORE MONEY OR INCONVENIENCE, I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ENTERPRISE. I WILL MAKE IT A POINT TO TELL MY FAMILY, FRIENDS, EMPLOYER ETC...HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS COMPANY.I did get a meager reply from the owner? suggesting I email customer care with details. Been there, the quote above telling me about policy and their hands were tied was the response
After speaking with a representative on the phone as to what I would need to rent a vehicle, when i went into the store and was told something different. I then had to drive all the way back home to get additional documents. My time and money was wasted with no concern or apology. I have rented through enterprise before at a different location and had a nice and easy experience, cant say the same this time.
I rented a mini-van for a Friday wine tour. All the Enterprise people, in Syracuse and Auburn, I dealt with were outstanding. My only issue is that I live in Auburn and when I went to reserve a mini-van on the Monday before the Friday wine tour, there were no mini-vans available in Auburn. So I called the Enterprise number on Monday and asked if I could have a mini-van available in Auburn for Friday. She said no, Id have to go to the Enterprise in Syracuse to get the mini-van. So I had to rent the mini-van a day earlier and take a day off from work and get the mini-van on Thursday in Syracuse, 45 minutes away. Thankfully I could return the mini-van to Auburn. The mini-van worked out perfect and the Enterprise staff I dealt with in Syracuse and Auburn were professional and very pleasant. For the amount of money I paid for the 2 day rental I think Enterprise needs to do a better job of making vehicles more locally available, especially when I was giving them 4 days notice. I will definitely use then again in the future.
The representative was not truthful about the extra cost of insurance. My insurance company was the one paying for this service and somehow I ended up paying $300 extra for a service that I didnt need. Do to the representative being unfaithful. No I will not rent a car form this agency again no matter who is paying for it. Lost my personal car in an accident and then got scammed by this company. Have a good day or not!
Quite possibly the worst car rental location and employees I’ve ever encountered. From rude and unorganized staff to poor parking. This has to be one of the worst managed businesses in Syracuse. My strong advice is for you to take your money elsewhere. Especially the employee with dreadlocks, extremely rude and pestering.
Second worse experience here . Employees are very rude got a car through car insurance both times i went first time employee argued with me that i had to pay the under age fee when in fact it was not true! ( insurance covers it ) she was very rude from start to finish but i needed a car asap so i kept compulsory. This time i went again employee was very rude no smile or anything . When i asked for different varieties in the car he didnt want to help me its more to the story just don’t feel like going into detail. Just know I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone
The customer service is great. Got hit by another car and they drove off, the folks at this location were extremely helpful in navigating the process of filing a report and getting the matter taken care of without any additional out of pocket expense. If you can afford the additional cost, get the insurance providing by the rental agency.
Rental vehicle smelled like weed, potpourri and disinfectant spray. Vehicle had a maintenance required see dealership message when started, was told it was a non-reset oil change indicator. When starting the vehicle one afternoon multiple warnings and malfunction warnings came on including low breaks, low/no power steering, anti-lock break malfunction, anti collision malfunction, emergency break system malfunction... needless to say around 10 in total. I WILL SAY ONE GREAT REVIEW is the enterprise in Athens ,Ohio the girl went above and beyond to get me a replacement vehicle on no notice what so ever.If my company didn’t use them for vehicle rentals I would never rent from them again.
I rent from Enterprise quite often but usually for short periods, two or three days. On this last occasion, my rental was extended as my person vehicle was on recall. The rental office offered a car of which I was not pleased. On site I was offered another car which I loved. Many thanks for a great experience for nearly a month of driving this rental.
2/23 update. ONE star stays!!Did a FIAT rental this week and the car had engine problems. Drive mode wouldnt work, park assist wouldnt work. I was just lucky i was able to drive.Waited for rental agent to ask about my experience. Was never asked. He Did verify the car and dropped me at my drop off location using the same car.---------------------------------------Hit or a Miss. Took two phone calls and over 45 mins to be picked up. I got the car 90 mins after my initial call. So much for being an executive member. Thx enterprise :(
Bad experience. Rented a ford focus for a weekend trip. Car smelled terrible. About a half hour into my trip I discovered that both USB ports in the vehicle were broken. Since I was using my phone GPS this caused problems. Had to stop at rest stops to charge my phone, added time to my trip. Wont ever be using enterprise again.
Always great customer service. I rent cars a lot for work and I can hands down say that this is the best location I have been to. The employees are always very accommodating and will do anything to make everything as easy as possible for me. I actually go out of my way to rent from this location.
I’m a Business Manager at a car dealership so I’m very familiar with the car rental game. I received a confirmation number and itinerary from my insurance company this morning for a 2:30pm pick-up conviently located across the street from where my car is being repaired. The only instructions I received were to call about a half an hour before I would be there so they could make sure the car was ready.About 30 minutes away I called once, was placed on hold for about 5 minutes and then disconnected. After calling back, I was disconnected several more times. After finally getting through, I was 15 minutes away from being there only to be told that I would have to wait until 4pm for a car to become available and someone tried to call me a little while ago to let me know about the delay.Already finding this unacceptable, when I finally got there I walked in, gave the man at the desk my reservation number to be told that they were out of cars until Thursday and that someone tried calling me at 8:55am to tell me that as well. Meanwhile, I go to hold up my phone log, but what’s the point? After a while, a car became available at their airport location and they sent someone to go retrieve it. I guess it wouldn’t have been a super long wait or huge inconvenience, but it seems like their may be a bit of a broken system between the insurance companies and Enterprise as far as making sure cars are in stock and what time their clients are coming in.After waiting for nearly TWO HOURS, I had to call my fiancé to ask her to text me a picture of my license because I left it home (I emptied out the car prior to bringing it in to be repaired and my front pocket wallet was an item I removed.) They would not accept this as he wanted the actual, physical license to rent me the car. My insurance agent even called to verify running a DMV report and to verify all my information and he wouldn’t even look at the picture my fiancé sent me or accept anything he was told or shown when it was CLEARLY valid. He could have made an exception given all the information at his fingertips, after all if I was an unlicensed operator why the heck would I even be there through my insurance company? But no, he chose to be an a$$%#*+. Flat out.I don’t use foul language in public reviews ever, but F#%! THIS PLACE and every member of the sorry excuse for “management”. Never again will I go there and I’ll make it a mission that no one else I know does either... and that’s a LOT of people. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Thanks for the great customer service!
I am disgusted with this company. Rental through my insurance, due to accident. I dropped the vehicle off, same condition as I recieved. They called and claimed damage. Scapes on hood which were not there when i exchanged for my personal vehicle. WOULD NEVER REFER ANYONE TO USE THIS COMPANY.. 1st accident in more than 7 yrs, and Ive never had any vandalism claims EVER! But suddenly in a car thats not my own there is? I CALL B.S. DO NOT TRUST ENTERPRISE !
Enterprise always serves me their best cars while doing business with them. I really enjoyed my babies and the costumers service is nickel. Love you and and always be. it seemed we Have developed a love relationship over the time. Lets say , a long term relationship. Enterprise for life!!!!!!Surprise me Enterprise!!!
Went back to this one and got a car that was not running well missed a trip out of town when i called them to inform them of the issue with the car they were not helpful at all and told me we will give you an upgrade for your next car that you get. didnt seem to care at all of the issue that i had paid for a car we couldnt use!!! really a disappointment with this one back to the air port we go or using the one in mattydale who are also way more healthful Arron who says he is the manager was really rude and didnt care to help at all i dont know how you have a manager position and you care less to make the ones who have been using your car for a while now to not helping them at all. so manager ill say.
Would be better if they have an phone number that will accept messages after hours so that they are aware cars are returned. Without this feature the renter has to keep calling until someone answers the phone else you get charged for more days than you actually have the car. Poor service in that regard.
Fantastic rental experience. Peter was so friendly when he picked me up, and set the tone for Hannah to get me going! The downtown SYRACUSE branch was very convenient for my car to be serviced at the local Ziebart! I’ll definitely be back when I need a loaner! Thanks guys!
Lets just say it started out to be about the worst experience I could have had. We flew into Syracuse airport and reserved what we thought was a car at the airport. After a long day of flying with five of us, including a one year old and all of our luggage, we went to go pick up the car and the counter proceeded to share with us that the car is downtown Syracuse. So I ask where we go to the shuttle and Im told they dont have one and I need to take a cab downtown ($40.00 one-say) at my cost. I call ahead to that location and share my disappointment. The five of us, our 7 suitcases, car-seat and stroller, load up all our stuff and head downtown in a cab. Upon our arrival, there is a line. The employee that I spoke with on the phone came over and said, can you come outside, I want to show you what we have for you. Keep in mind I upgraded my car prior to arrival (paid for an upgrade) from standard to full-size. He walks me outside and shows me a Chevy Cruz. Told me this is what the manager is going to do for you, well put you in this car and take $60.00 dollars off your weekly rental. So let me get this straight, you want to downgrade me for an upgrade that I paid for and give me $60.00 off my rental which is more than what the standard car was and I paid $80.00 for the round trip cab fair? No, this is not acceptable.....We go back in, I speak with the manager Chris and share my frustration and explain to him that this is not my idea of customer service. He then tells me he will get the full-size car ready (now we have been here a long time). The car is ready (A Malibu), which is much smaller than the Impala, which is what we were supposed to get. We load up and he tells me an SUV just arrived, do you want to go in that. At this point the whole family is sweaty and tired, we decline. Chris says hes going to call ahead to the Watertown location and try to get us in an upgraded vehicle. I dont hear from him, so I call him and he puts me on hold, says good news, I got you in an upgrade, we got you an Infiniti SUV. Awesome! He tells me all the rest stands, he will waive the fee to return the car to the airport, I dont have to bring it back with a full tank of gas and the weekly rate will be 50% off. Awesome! So we drive to Watertown, we get there and we are given the same size car, but told that this is a luxury car and the best they have. The person I dealt with, which I believe was Erin, was not friendly at all, actually, she was condescending. She treated me like she was doing me a favor that I did not deserve. Even though an SUV pulled up while we were there and she instructed one of the sales people to sell it to a customer on the phone, she told ME that the car she had was all she could do. No more space and actually less trunk space, so now we have to put the stroller between our legs in the front seat and add more luggage to the back seat as opposed to the trunk. The car was fine. I dont care about luxury, I cared more about space. When we returned the car to the airport and got on our flight at 6:00 AM for departure, I had a voicemail when I got home later that day - that the airport charged me full price, but that Chris would credit back the amount we agreed to.Chris did try and please me as a customer, I still didnt get what I wanted with regards to the car, but appreciate his efforts. The best thing I can say is he did go above and beyond, but not in the beginning. They were trying to downgrade me for an upgrade I paid for. I would still use Enterprise because Chris at the end of the day, tried to make it right. Should have started off that way!
Received a car that had very distorted windshield I could not see through it as I drove off the lot. I thought it was me. Had my husband check it and clean it WITH no change. Took car back Austin immediately gave me a new car with no problem. He contacted his manager and the car was taken out of service.
I got a rental from an Enterprise in NY, which took awhile to get. I got there at at 11am, told them I was in a bit of a hurry and got the vehicle I originally wanted, except there was something wrong with the SUV and had to wait sometime for what ever they had left on the lot. They did not have another SUV in hand and so because of my rush, and because I could not wait any longer and the lack of vehicles, I had no choice but to take what ever they offered me.I called the Enterprise and asked if I can bring the car to a different Enterprise to get the initial vehicle I rented. Ally( Rep ) says: of course! I said: will I have any issues with changing the Vehicle? Ally (Rep) says: No, not at all.I call this Enterprise to change the Vehicle and I speak to Adam( Rep at this location). I explained what happened and asked if I could change the vehicle to what I originally payed for; he gave me excuses in why he could not change the vehicle out( I have other people waiting for these SUVs, and added that they were going to have SUVs returning today and that he would put me on a Waiting list if the SUVs were returned today ) if they were going to get SUVs returned today, why the issue and or excuses? This Enterprise isnt about helping anyone or so far none of them are, and Im truly frustrated with the lack of professionalism in the two Enterprises that I have come to in the last two days. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!
Honestly,My last experience with Enterprise. Was the worst the representative that rented me my car talk to me disrespectful when I allowed or help me save money so I agreed to the higher price charge my credit card without my authorization at the end as he went resolve an issue that I was trying to talk to him about. I felt very disrespected and not cared for as a loyal customer that I have been.Christopher J Tysco
Enterprise was almost twice the price per day than Budget, Hertz, and Avis however they were the only local store open on Sunday I could have gone to the others @ the airport but with the airport surcharges, fees & taxes it would have brought the other franchises prices to the same as enterprise & I still would of have to go into as well as get out of the airport no easy feat on a Sunday so for convenience sake I went with enterprise, and it was other wise painless
Horrible experience, no other words besides horribleeee. My car was stolen and this was the location my insurance set me up with. I should have had no out of pocket expenses. I asked plenty of questions and was aware of what I signed. Twice they have withdrew money out of my account without my permission. A women named Katie doesnt seem to know anything, so than Im transferred to a manger named Kayla who admits that they screwed up & would refund my money...Next day more money as taking out. I call back, Kayla blames a guy named Chris and says talk to him idk why the money was taking out. No money has been refunded thus far & I will NEVER deal with this company again. A bunch of ppl that dont know how to do there jobs.
Phil Berg at the Downtown Syracuse Branch did a fantastic job getting me in and out of the branch. He has great customer service skills, and his extreamly humble personality made me comfortable renting from Enterprise(#1 car-rental company in the world). I recommend you see him if youre in the market for either a rental or a purchase of a new vehicle.
I hate it there why is because they dont inform you of anything that his change within there policy also Im just now knowing that dont let people on Social Security are disability able to rent cars there which I no yeah its insane but there saying they cant this world has gotten crazy I no there cars not always clean either
I absolutely dislike this particular location! The 2 times Ive personally dealt with this location (W.Genesee St, Syracuse,NY) theyve never had vehicles ready when theyre supposed to! The first time they said they were giving me a 4x4 truck And it was only 2 wheel drive!
Car needed oil change as soon as I got it. Had to take it to another enterprise on the othe side of town to exchange cars and was told there that I could of taken it to a firestone and got the oil change done my self. Not my car not my job and a very big inconvenience for me to get there car serviced which I did not but why would you recommend it to you customer is beyond me. Will not be doing business with them again.
My experience last week at Enterprise, 637 W Genesee St., was exceptional from start to finish and it was all because of Kayla. She made it positive, enjoyable and productive. Kayla was a professional in every way and makes Enterprise a better company because of her emphasis on customer satisfaction. I will be back again because of her.
The staff needs to be better trained they did the Entire process including the cc swipe we where ready to be on our way she says one more thing you need a utility bill so I happen to have a Cable bill she did all that she needed to with it and told me she could not use it it had a late payment on it .no one told me I needed a utility bill I just happened to have that one hope you returned the money to my card which was frozen for 3 days while It was processed so now we dont have enough money to rent a car from any one and my friend missed her dads funeral I called the company to complain and got the cc run around I was told the area manager would get a hold of me Ive heard nothing NOT a good place
The customer service was good, on 1/15/18 the company just didnt hv a suv to acumendate me at 1st cicero had no cars available for 2 days so I contact w genesee st I recvd an big Nissan v8, use up lots of gas by Tuesday of the next week I called w genesee they had smaller 2018 suv jeep.
They decided to charge a cleaning fee even though we vacuumed the car and everything before returning it they charged 50 dollars even though the car was spotless first they said we were smoking in it then after being told no one even smoked they said they found dog hair no dogs in the car either
When your wheels arent working like they should and you just cant not go on a sic road trip with your best buds this place will... Hook. You. Up. Or if your ride has decided that you cant be Adulting, but you really need to, again Enterprise will Hook. You. Up. with a sweet ride.
Bad really bad i rented a car from enterprice. And i left my son tablet in the car and it wasnt never return back to me who ever clen the car kept it and so sad couse it was my son i went and speake to the manager and it seems like he didnt care i would never rent from enterprice again they are thiefs
I originally requested my rental for a week but during that time my situation changed and I needed it longer I extended my contract several times I had the car for a total of 30 days and they worked with me the whole time I had a great rental experience with enterprise
Excellent experience with Enterprise , as usual 😊.. got a brand new car , picked up in one location , and had a horrendous snow storm at the end of the rental . On the off chance , I stopped at the closest Enterprise which wasnt my scheduled return location, and they gladly let me return it.....WITH NO EXTRA DROP-OFF FEE!!!!

2021-12-02I called and they put me on hold 3xs then hung up without saying anything. I called back and they picked up and hung up. After 2 hrs of this game I got ahold of a gentleman named Tyler who was professional. I had a discount code from Geico and the manager refused it. I know he CHOSE not to because the rude lady who took over said it’s the managers discretion and they choose not to. Because I needed a car I said whatever I’ll pay regular price and let Geico know you refused to honor their discount code. She then says she can’t take the reservation and transferred me to Cust service. When I told customer service what I wanted to do they said no problem and transferred me back to the Genesee location who immediately hung up on me. I called back to get the name of the lady who hung up and another woman got on and acted like she was going to help me. Asking ridiculous questions and giggling. After dealing with sarcasm and getting through this crazy process she told me she set up my rental. I thanked her and it was done. As we were hanging up I had a feeling something wasn’t right because I could hear the laughter in her voice so I asked how much did for a total, remember I had the discount code, she became quiet then says 629.00 for a compact car for 4 days. So she wanted me to come in expecting to pick up a car and spring 629$ on me. I politely said that’s ridiculous and called Avis. FYI Avis gave me an SUV for 41$ a day. They were Very polite and professional. I’ll never use enterprise again. Neither should you. The worst most terrible experience ever. I have never had such a reprobate customer service experience. They are trash. Unbelievably unprofessional. Remember Avis, Alamo, Hertz and National. If your a corporate executive or professional that’s who you should use. Enterprise should take food stamps based on how they treat their customers. The others will treat you right. Have a great day.The response that they put about how they want to look into it is BOGUS! Not genuine.

2022-03-11If there was a way to zero stars, I would. The entire experience was discriminatory, predatory and wholly unreasonable. I would avoid this business at all costs. In the end, after weeks of renting (after an accident), we were told the car would not be released to us and rather at 8am were forced to remove our belongings and get a ride to work. All this after offering to pay any balance and re-rent the car or another vehicle. Mind-boggling.We will be filing appropriate claims.

2022-04-03This is the number 1 bad company in Syracuse, they are terrible and unbelievable mean.In Jan this year my car was hit by Progressive client. And the Progressive arranged my car in Gerber to get fix and arranged Enterprise Rental car in w genesee for me. When I pick up their rent car, the British lady agent persuaded me to buy their collision warranty $8.99 a day and I stupid approved and gave her my credit car number which proved a big disaster later! In February the Progressive decided not continue my card fix in Gerber, but they did not inform me when should I return the rent car, they just said they need Ed to hold a conference to decide more details. One week later my rent car suddenly was towed from my home and I thought it was stolen at first and called the police. When I called the Enterprise, they told me they did it just because the Progressive stopped payment one week ago. They said they tried to call me but doesnt work but I work at night and sleep in the morning and midday and can not receive call so please text me or email me, I already told them that. But I never received their text or email! What worse was that they secretly charged my credit card for the one more weeks rent and the tow fee total $350 without my permission and signature!! They did this just like a thief!!! What they did was just like stealing money! So I honestly advise people dont choose this company, if you have to choose this company, be careful never buy their collisions warranty which is $8.99 perday. Because they could make use of your credit card number to steal your money!!!

2022-03-12This is the worst rental car company. Completely unprofessional. They gave me a vehicle with little to no gas. They forged my signature, overcharged my credit card. When I called they left me on hold for over 20 minutes, when I finally got a hold of someone named Luke he hung up the phone in my face. I would never recommend this place to anybody.

2021-12-18Like many other reviews I had an interesting experience. I have a license from another state and was paying by credit card. I have never ever had an issue with renting a car from any other Enterprise location. This one however made it seem like they werent going to rent me a car because my license is from another state. I live 5 miles away, but still in the same state. If I can legally drive in any state, why cant I rent a car in any state?Since this only has ever happened to me at this location, I dont think it is a real policy everywhere. If it were, can you imagine what would happen at the airport?

2021-09-28This location does not seem up to the standards of other branches I have worked with. They seem more concerned with getting people to say they had great service rather than provide good service. Two times now I have reserved a car and upon arrival that car size is not available and I am provided a choice of two different vehicles and then they try to charge me a higher daily rate which is unacceptable. Don’t offer availability on your website if you don’t actually intend to have that vehicle size on your lot. Your inability to keep an inventory is not the customers fault when you showed that availability on your booking website. Ultimately both times I left with the original booked rate but not without a fight and involving other staff members but don’t worry they still ask if you had amazing service.

2022-02-20Staff was friendly and helpful. The whole process was fast and I really appreciated the ride they gave me back to my home. A lot of other places that are short staffed dont offer this option.

2022-04-08While my previous rental was rough (truck I ordered was not available on my pickup date), this was much. Truck was ready and clean, and there were no problems at all
