The entire organization is a hot mess. It used to be a wonderful facility, but the culture has taken a nose dive. ESLC is hemorrhaging employees due to the organizations egregious maltreatment of its staff. This transcends beyond the healthcare staffing crisis. The people flocking from the organization are doing so because they are disgusted by the mismanagement and poor treatment of staff, and I can personally attest to this. This place cant even pay the bills. Such a sad story that the wrong people were entrusted with the organization and now its tanking as a result.

The only reason why the residents would seem happy here is because they dont want any reprisal from staff, or they have dementia and cannot recall what has happened. My Mother who died - had at least 2 accounts of head injuries in which the nursing staff refused to order an C-scan to make sure there was no damage; a black and blue bruise covering half of the left side of her face and later- a dent in her forehead which you could detect just running your finger over it, as well as by sight - I have pictures. I witnessed her having to wait at least a half-hour - 50 minutes to get changed, many times I just did it myself or was told to do it myself- ( if I wanted to ).And after complaining about her care to the nursing director, Lei-Lei -The nursing staff got together and filed a report that I was disturbing the other residents - and was barred from visiting my Mother. Since then Ive heard similar experiences from other people whove had loved ones staying at ECH. One lady was threatened by having her husband kicked out of the home after she complained and had to actually take him to the hospital - herself. The CEO was sent an account . What they do is side with the family member who visits least and has no idea what goes on at ECH - then they pressure them to act on their wishes - knowing that the family member does not want to get too involved.

My Mother has been here for about two years. During this time I have witnessed her quality of life and the dignity which should be maintained - decline. She has been left to sit in her soiled clothing for 50 minutes without being changed, which my Dad has complained about, as well. Ive was told to change her myself on occasion. Most of the time my Mom looks disheveled when I come to visit her and usually has an odor. It looks like they never clean her wheelchair cushion; sticky, crumb-laden and smelly. My Mom has seems despondent; very little social stimulation, is subjected to the television programs the staff has chosen to watch. The dishes and mugs are dirty. Staff nurse falls asleep in front of the television. Upon complaining: no action taken and administration comes against family member for voicing concerns. Is this even legal ?

My Dad passed away in October 2018, leaving my mother without a safe care plan. Frankly, we were terrified because they had made no plan at all in case one of them died. However, Mom was able to get into the Episcopal home for Rehab and make a smooth transition to permanent care at the Episcopal Home on Mount Hope. From the first day, all of the caregivers have been kind and friendly, and the medical and professional staff have been top-rate. Lets be honest: this facility is priced at a premium rate, but the facilities and staff are well worth it.I want to add a note regarding the one-star ratings given to this facility: the problem with the internet is that anyone can post anything under Google reviews. The proof of the quality of this facility is that there is a waiting list to get in, and the residents here all seem pleased to be here. We have never had any trouble with unprofessionalism or lack of care for my mom. Its hard to transition her from her home to managed care, but the staff here makes it easy to know we have done the right thing for her.

My wife came to the Episcopal Church Home just two months ago and it’s been a smooth transition for her. The staff are well trained and pay close attention to residents’ needs. Also, the PT and OT services are very good – I was pleasantly surprised by that! We enjoy spending time in the beautiful chapel every day which is right on site, and take advantage of the lovely living room to visit. The outside grounds are beautiful as well and the building which was built in 1967 is well maintained. I also like having computers available for use in the lobby, and have found the food to be very good. They also have a great hairdresser who does a great job with my wife’s style. I am very pleased with the Episcopal Church Home – must be seen to be fully appreciated.~ Jack Stewart, Family Member

So Ive been in this place multiple times for work on an emergency basis. If i could give a 0, that would be saying too much. Their nursing staff is incompetent, argumentative to other healthcare providers when they come in to treat the patients that the staff is unable to care for. They have no medical patho/phys knowledge to the meds they assist with, and it shows with the status of the patients that they have to call ems for. Our elders deserve much more than the lackluster, complacent care that this facility offers. People do not deteriorate rapidly. They just dont care to notice as it blooms. I truly feel for those with no other option but to be at the facility. Theres so many other places better off to care for those who deserve the best

The worst nursing home ever, since my dad has been there a lot of his stuff has been stolen. The nurse manager Laura is so unprofessional. How about she slammed the door on my 2 yr old head. Wont talk to you about your family members. Called security on me cause she didnt like what I was saying. I feel bad for the CNA they are wonderful with my dad. He will be going to another home

This is the worst nursing home I have ever had the misfortune to visit. Ive seen residents wet themselves and be left to sit in their urine for hours while the staff watches football on TV and the Administration does nothing. Despicable and contemptible. A one-star ranking is one star too much for this place. If youre thinking of putting a loved one here, dont. Put them in a dog shelter. Theyll get better treatment.

I was here for rehab twice for hip replacements. I was treated very well. Excellent care and fir my hip replacement also two years ago. My mother was in the nursing home for 6 months which was hard on me and my Mother but all in all she was treated wonderfully. Kathleen Dix.

Staff is rude and do not do their jobs. I come everyday and i have to clean my step fathers room. I guess they do not worry about the pandemic. Plus, he pays full price for this place.
