Equinox Hotel New York in New York
I had a reservation for 4/16/22 check-in to 4/17/22 check-out. For spring break, we wanted our kids to experience The Lion King on Broadway. Our play was scheduled for 4/16/22. I called the hotel two days in advance to inform the front desk I would need a roll-out bed for a child and amenities for my small dog. Unfortunately, upon arriving at the hotel at 3:00PM for check-in we were told that the room wasnt cleaned yet and we had to wait almost an hour before we could check-in. My kids and I missed the entire first half of the play and my husband missed the entire play because he had to stay longer to take the dog up to the room. When I asked for the manager that evening, I was told a manager name James would contact me. However, no one did. I received a call the next day from a manager name Kevin stating he would remove the roll-out bed charge and comp the dine-in room service. That was a joke because the roll-out bed was complimentary due to my child’s age and because we booked through AMEX we had a $150.00 dining credit. When you are spending over 2k a night on a room, some things are just unacceptable, and this was one of them.Front desk customer service was horrible, and no one would give me the general managers Jeff Rednour email to express my concerns.
The Equinox Hotel, a fitness franchise-turned-hospitality enclave that opened in 2019, is located in Hudson Yards on the fringe of Manhattan. Unsurprisingly, the hotel, which takes up 14 floors of a 92-floor building, is all about wellness and fitness—think massages followed by IV vitamin drips, cryotherapy chambers, and one of the prettiest rooftop pools in New York. The 212 rooms are equally lovely, with beds made of horse hair and non-toxic fibers and sauna-sized showers with multiple heads. And before you write off the hotel as being only for fitness fanatics, fear not: The focus here is on feeling good in your own body, not counting calories or weight loss.
The only five star aspect of this hotel was the price.I traveled and experience five stars hotels around the world and I believe this one doesnt deserve to be up there. The structure itself is quite nice, the view is stunning and the position it is great, but the staff and how they use the structure is much closer to a low 3 stars hotel. The rooms are fairly small, but nice and clean. The lobby is small even if they have an entire floor but they prefer to keep it closed to the guests. The bar / restaurant is embarrassing. First of all it is a public restaurant so even if you are staying in the hotel you are not sure you will be able to sit and get food. If you manage to sit the service is diner style to not say rude, the food quality is disgusting and the prices are over the top.The bar prefer to have reserved on every table and not serving the guests cause Im sorry we are fully booked even if the bar it is empty for hours.Room service is a big meh for me, I stayed there for 6 nights and I never got the bed sheets changed, they changed towels randomly. At five star and at that price I expected everything to be changed daily.Again, asking the staff to perform the most basic of tasks like bring ice to the room was a waste of time, I had to do it myself and I got asked what room I was so I can get charged for the ice, cause the bar doesnt serve the rooms (?!?). Also room service is not 24h as supposed to be in a five star hotel.I also got charged for using the Nespresso machine in the room.Talking about the COVID 19 measures it was bad, like really really bad. Guests are allowed to go around how they prefer ( usually without a mask ), social distancing is not even considered and the staff does absolutely nothing to enforce it.So the overall experience was ruined by a staff that doesnt want to work and pull out every single trick in the book to make their shifts as quite as possible. It would be such a bad experience if it was considered a 4 or even a 3 stars hotel but definitely this hotel doesnt deserve 5 stars and doesnt deserve the 5 stars price it has.
Beautiful hotel in a vibrant area! Great views from the room, nice amenities, and top tier staff. Andy who worked at the door made our trip. He offered local insight on the area, helped us with our needs, and always willing to go the extra mile. Thanks Andy! We look forward to visiting again soon. Cheers NYC
We stayed in this hotel for our trip to New York, and expectations were highly met. The service and hospitality was excellent and they always provided comfortable environment for us. Shoutout to chill and nice security guards and concierge for friendliness and professionalism!
Just a great experience. Overall vibe is a smart balance between energizing and relaxing. Everything is new, gym of course is excellent, and the staff is a pleasure. Limited but delicious menu at restaurant and for room service, with smooth integration of Amex benefits. Agree w/previous reviewer who said the premier room views are worth the splurge.
Excellent stay! Can’t say enough wonderful things about the hotel and the staff. Our room was beautiful. The restaurant and bar were great. I want to especially thank Anabela from the concierge for going above and beyond to help us with a package that was accidentally delivered there after our stay.
First of all I am quite disappointed about they said they are a 5 stars hotel. It is overrated because:1. The room is smaller than they advertise2. The staff are nice but they don’t have well communication with others. They just tell me to ask front desk.3. We were sitting on the chair at the pool, one of the staff member came to us and told us “ you need to make a reservation for the chair at the pool” !!?? I never saw any 5 stars hotel does this. It’s ridiculous.4. My spouse was sitting at the bar more than 15 minutes none of the bartenders asked him if he need anything to drink. When he ask someone they he told him ask another person. It seemed like they know nothing about the hotel.5. I asked for ice, 2 hours later there is no ice given to me.6. We were celebrating our special anniversary and they committed to give us a wine as a complimentary (which is so lovely), after checking in till now( 6.30 pm) no wine!!!Finally, they seemed professional at the beginning but after that it was horrible service. By the way, we have booked the hotel with Amex platinum travel and pay over $700 per night so we expected 5 stars service not overrated service.
Checked in for a few nights over my birthday weekend. Staff were welcoming and helpful, giving us suggestions for restaurants to book for a birthday dinner. We eventually settled on the Electric Lemon restaurant in the hotel. My fiance and I were also celebrating our engagement. We pre-checked in a few hours before our room was ready and dropped this piece of information to the staff. When got to our room later, champagne and snacks were nicely laid out for us.The city view from the 37th floor was spectacular. Room amenities were top notch, specifically the comfy Reigning Champ robes. Bed was comfy, and products in the shower were great. We booked with Expedia and our stay had 2x free infrared sauna trips included, which we took full use of. We also used the gym facilities the next day. It is a shame that the gym isnt exclusively for hotel guests, however. The only negative I have was that several of the wider hotel amenities were closed. The indoor pool was completely drained, though the outdoor pool was open (it was -1 Celcius during our stay...). The juice bar was closed and the restaurant terrace (which has great views of the city in pictures) was also also unavailable. It was to be expected due to the cold weather, but would have been nice to have been informed beforehand.Overall, great experience for a few nights.
Great hotel, staff, and especially beds. I would splurge for the premier room, the views are gorgeous! Everyone from the doorman and security guards to the people at the front desk and the housekeeping staff go above and beyond to make your stay phenomenal. Brunch at electric lemon was great - make reservations though it fills up.
The property & hotel itself are gorgeous. 5- Star in that regard. Service and staff was also excellent.CON 1. The beds are awfully uncomfortable. I do not leave reviews often, but my wife and I were shocked at the comfort of the beds (very, very hard).CON 2. There is no room service past 3PM. When staying in a hotel of this caliber, and for $900+ a night, one would expect there to be room service to at least around 9 or 10pm. Not a deal breaker, but certainly one of the things anyone has come to enjoy when staying in a classy hotel.
Amazing stay here! The rooms were very nice, a large bathroom and very modern with lots of cool stuff. Service was amazing as well, every staff member was extremely kind and the bellman and door person were super awesome every time we came back. Was here for 6 nights as well!
The front desk staffs and the gym staffs have major communication issues. The room was not ready by the promised check in time. Was told to hang out and change at the gym because I got somewhere to go and expect to change my clothes after my flight, and the staff offered the gym because has it a nice bathroom? So I had to go back downstairs to retrieve the baggages and get them up to the gym? He said yes. I was already beyond irritated by their late check in and now this attitude....but whatever Im in NYC and I paid 1k a night here so not a big deal right ?I decided to walk around the gym first. The gym was just like a normal equinox gym with a nicer view. Its NOT exclusive to the hotel staffs and open to public. The lounge was filled with wework people sitting around and there are no other places to sit or hang out while waiting for your room.I asked if there was water ... At this time ... I was expecting a glass of champagne already . Guess what the gym front desk staff said ? There is a water fountain.....I could have laughed but more like awkward. He later offered me to go to the juice bar downstairs and I went, the store was open but no one was working, no sign of whatsoever if anyone was coming back from break or something. After all of these unpleasant experiences and unprofessional services, the room was finally ready after an hour, an hour of my time wasted in NYC.You are paying for a clean modern room with a view , the coffee and tea was appreciated, the mini bar was cool and very LA, the gym was just equinox gym. The out door pool was closed, the restaurant menu was unimpressive, the spa was nice but busy and understaffed, the massage was mediocre. Infrared sauna and the IV infusion are great, the nurse was very sweet and skillful. Trust me you need a spa day after all of that ... gaslighting experiences
It starts from the moment you step out of your car! Andy, in valet is the reason why I recommend this hotel to everyone!!!! Micheal and him made my stay outstanding!!!! Everyone is so helpful, but these two stand out! The rooms are clean, the service is fast! I highly recommend the Equinox
Im so impressed with this hotel! The staff is one of the biggest assets they have. The rooms are large and nicely designed, roomy desk and clean and large bathroom with large counter space. The dining room is excellent, with a variety of different themes for dinner. Overall, its a nice experience staying at this hotel!
Imagine if Jony Ive designed a hotel and thats what youre paying for. Its somehow elegant and simple at the same time. The lighting and temperature of your room has been meticulously thought through. Half the decisions youd normally have to make to reach optimum comfort were already made for you. Its over the top and beautiful and, its probably something Ill only ever do once. If this is the iHotel, to run with the Ive comparison, I gotta say: Im perfectly happy with the Android experience thats a little cheaper. Hell, the best hotel experience I ever had was some little $250 a night chain hotel with fresh, warm cookies and a quaint Midwestern staff. Sometimes, the uppity New York vibe is what you need and want. Most of the time though, its just too stuffy, too... manufactured to perfection, and Im content with a little quirkiness and humanity in my hotel experience.
The experience is amazing and unique. From the hotel, the gym, the sauna, the sun deck, the pool and the bar, attention to detail is seen throughout the design, the colors, the materials, and the equipment. Couple that with the views and scenery plus the luxurious touches and you have an amazing experience. In conclusion you have a great hotel coupled with an amazing gym and great views that are all seamlessly connected.
Excellent experience all around! The room was sleek, comfortable, and had great views of the Hudson. Neat tech, in terms of the shower, shades, and iPad controls. Gym was outstanding. Erik Yu at the door gave top notch service and Nicole at the concierge desk went above and beyond in terms of finding and booking us dinner and nightlife reservations. Highly recommend this place!!
Although the hotel itself was beautiful I don’t recommend any travellers with Covid 19 concerns to stay here. You get stuck in the relatively small elevators with many restaurant and gym goers with out masks on. Many of the services staff (concierge etc.) do not wear masks and are quite rude and will even refuse to when asked to. If you are a traveller who is concerned about returning to their home country Covid-free, this is not the hotel for you. We had initially selected this hotel because of the outdoor spaces and it’s positive health orientation, but would not book it again.
The Equinox Hotel is a trendy hotel in the heart of the burgeoning Hudson Yards neighborhood, but be warned…this is not a five star hotel. If you are accustomed to staying at mid range hotels like the Stewart, the Equinox will be quite the upgrade. If you’re accustomed to the service of other NYC five star hotels, like The Mark, your experience will be a disappointment. In short, the hotel is severely understaffed with very junior front line employees. The amenities have limited use, in-room dining is not available after 3PM, and we could not secure a reservation at the restaurant or spa despite having a room reservation well over $2,000 per night.
My husband and I spent a long weekend here to have a quick getaway together. The hotel and its staff were all very nice and professional. If we called with any minor issue they were quick to help. The rooms are a very nice size with amazing views. The blackout curtains make for a very peaceful nights sleep. It was cold and raining when we were there so we didn’t take full advantage of the amenities, but will be back to experience those. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.
My friends & I booked the equinox for a low key bachelorette weekend. Best. Decision. Ever. From Aaron at the front desk, to Logan at Electric Lemon, to Devon at valet - all of the people we came across delivered incredible service (and just seemed happy to work there). The spa was able to accommodate scheduling our massages at the same time, and it was the ultimate experience.Love love loved so many things about this stay - the cocomat pillows, the high end room toiletries, the clutch mirror lighting, our rooftop dinner x views, THE POOL. Wholeheartedly recommend staying here!
Great experience overall! Well run, exceptionally clean and a lot of nice perks such as motorized shades, AppleTV, lighting dimmer, nice selection minibar/coffee and snacks. Plus great location in the city. I hope limited hours of room service is temporary due to covid otherwise it might be an issue.
Great new 5 star hotel right in the heart of the Hudson Yards/Vessel attraction. The hotel is clean and immaculate, staff are friendly and very accommodating. The Junior Suite is plenty spacious, with a lounging area, king sized bed and bathroom with heated flooring. They offer complimentary use of their exercise materials, yoga mat, resistance bands and offer a variety of rituals and routines to assist you in getting started for the day or winding down for the evening. I would recommend this hotel for anyone with an acquired taste for a finer luxury hotel.
Welcoming staff and well designed rooms - felt modern yet warm, interior design felt unique and thoughtful. Security and cleanliness seemed to be well enforced. Rooms were spacious enough for NYC and have plenty of storage space. Bedding was a bit lower than expectations but still slept well. Having spa and gym, as well as nearby attractions were convenient. Would return for the spa alone, excellent service
The room was nice and very modern but unless you’re going to be at the fitness club all day it is NOT worth it to stay at this hotel. Service is abysmal and you get many little surprises along the way, like breakfast being free BUT there is no dining room and so you have to order it with room service which is charged for, plus gratuity. The pool does not allow children, something a lot of families found out when there. Housekeeping would sometimes take all day to get to your room and they would only be there 9-5. The TV worked well for the first couple days and then some “updates” that looked like phishing kept popping up and then spotify stopped working, I realized I had to change my passwords after using my netflix there. The water has really low pressure and comes out milky. And having to take multiple elevators which are slow became irritating after a couple of days. This is a 5-star priced hotel but not a 5-star service one.
I love hotels and heard of Equinox through my employer. Check-in is actually on the 25th floor with a very beautiful decorated lobby! The front desk is very helpful and I got a free ticket to go view the vessel. My room was a deluxe overlooking the Hudson Bay!! Beautiful bathroom and the shower and toilet are separate from each other. My favorite part of my stay was the snacks wine and across the street the shopping mall!! I loved my stay and will be back soon!! A side note I don’t know about housekeeping and I believe you have to call for someone to service the room!
I’m staying here with my wife and daughter for memorial day weekend. Not fan of the customer service. This hotel does not do room service past 3pm. I’m spending $4000 for 2 nights. Any other hotel would offer 24/7 room service. This is a new hotel, they should really be going above and beyond. Rooms are amazing and so is spa!
Decided to stay the week at a nicer hotel and this was absolutely the right choice. The staff are incredible at their jobs and guest services handled all of our requests with ease and efficiency. Access to the pools and gym was great and the views can not be great. They are also taking very appropriate Covid measures while still allowing guests.
Husband and I spend a weekend away from our kids and it was the best experience!!! Felt super safe. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was yummy. The suana and wave experience was fantastic super private and soooo relaxing!Highly recommend and would definitely return when we go visit NY!Super Lowkey and easy to navigate. The gym is beautiful!!!The room was absolutely beautiful with that view!!! Stayed on the 38th floor so you can just imagine the sunrise and sunsets.
Definitely not worth the money you paid.1. I needed to stay as quarantined since Im not a NY resident so no public facilities including the gym. Fair.2. Then I thought I could just focus on my work during the stay but there is no proper desk or chair for one to sitting down using a laptop. I asked the guest service if I could get a desk and a chair, ofc the answer was no. ¯_(ツ)_/¯3. In-room dinning choice is limited and average but still charges a lot.I have no idea why I chose this hotel in the first place. I thought the price was high so it must be good. I couldnt be more wrong.
Great location, nice rooms but NYC has plenty of those. For the money you pay you pretty much get a one big Equinox-gym experience, the rest just doesnt make sense here. So if youre anything but a millennial coming in for photo ops you should probably go somewhere else.
Every second of our experience at the equinox hotel will be cherished for the rest of our lives. All staff and services were on the money. Our room was perfect and the views were second to none. Would definitely recommend to all friends and family. Can not wait to come back again!
The hotel is gorge, new and immaculate. Location is great close to the vessel and hudson yards and really in close proximity to most touristic spots. The staff really goes beyond what they need to. They gave the girls slime, coloring books etc. Really loved our stay i think mostly because of the staff. The rooms were huge- we got a connecting suite and beyond loved the views and the comfort!
This is an Amazing place but the staff needs serious attention. We loved our room and the location of the building was convenient for our trip. They were supposed to do turndown service that we requested 2 nights in a row that never happened, and we requested our car to available at a specific time so we could leave on time. We gave the 24 hours notice on that and still had to sit in the lobby 50 minutes waiting for it to be brought to us. I realize its a new hotel but this is their profession and it needs serious improvement. The breakfast we ordered came on time but was burnt. How do you burn a pancake? The smoothies were horrible, took 1 taste and poured them out. For the cost of this place service needs serious attention.
5 star experience without the pretentious staff. What a wonderful stay over the last 4 nights. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my birthday stay was special. The room was modern and elegant and large. Having access to the gym was very helpful, especially since its one of the nicest in the city. The paper free room means everything is managed through an iPad, which was great. So easy to control the lights, the shade and all food orders. The bed is large and very comfortable. They provide two down comforters, instead of a top sheet. That was perfect for me. I was very grateful that upon request they set music on my TV every night when I returned. Really nice touch. The train is right outside to the left, so it is so easy to get everywhere in the city and outer boroughs. Highly recommend!
The Equinox Hudson Yards Spa is Amazing. The Manager Sarah made sure that our experience was wonderful! She was very friendly, warm, and accommodating. Reshma gave us a tour of the Spa to make sure we knew where everything was. Checked on us several times and served us a nice cold glass of champagne after our services. A nice treat! Last but not least, I walked in with a horrible knot in my shoulder and Laura worked her magic with my massage and got it out! It felt so much better after. Laura also did my facial. I left with a glowing face, sinus relieved after the lymphatic facial and body feeling brand new after my wonderful massage. The front staff was very welcoming. A Spa that I will definitely go to again. Thank You Ladies for such a wonderful day! Terri C!
No room for hotel guests at the pool. Super expensive rooms and I was put on a waitlist with 22 people in front of me to get a chair at the pool. All taken over by people with gym memberships and no spots for hotel guests paying lots per night to stay here. Please reserve a few chairs or an area for hotel guests because it does not give a five star experience the way it is setup now. Besides the highly disappointing pool situation, the staff in the rest of the hotel is awesome. Spa staff is incredible. The rooms are nice and modern with a lot of thoughtful details.
Hi friend. My friend and I are front line physicians at hospitals in the area. We haven’t had a vacation since Covid started. We are lucky to have jobs and vacations (and paid vacations at that). We are super blessed & we also have worked extremely hard, as most all of us do or want to do. We booked later in the day for the night to spoil ourselves. We were charged 977$ for the double queen bed room. It was unclear that the spa and services were closed , & we weren’t allowed on the terrace due to restrictions, some minor issues in the room itself, nothing else included.I specifically asked if there were some spa services open and my understanding was yes to an extent. I wouldn’t have booked otherwise . They admitted, due to the time we booked, they didn’t call us to tell us what to expect. We voiced our grievances and were told that in return we can get...a free lunch. and to go out and look from the terrace. I, being a bit tart(let’s call it burnout from work), ordered 380$ worth of lunch (I wasn’t given a spending limit) and they called me back and asked, why I would do such a thing. And I said, we are very hungry. And I was told, you are allowed to be as hungry as 2 entrees. I had to haggle to convince them, no, we are at least 3 entrees hungry. I was told that these prices keeps businesses going & folks employed.Upon my research, Equinox holding group made 1.8 billion dollars in *profit* in 2018, and are getting billions more to try and compete with Peloton, a competitor whose stock went up 350% in 2020. It’s unclear how much PPP they obtained (from you dear reader’s blood, sweat & tears worth of tax money), but I’m sure it’s not zero.I know, #firstworldproblems. Maybe it was just bad timing. 95% of staff are extremely lovely and they deserve 5 million stars, for going out into the world and working with the community. This 1 star rating is regarding Equinox holding group’s handling of things from the higher ups. Most hotels are offering limited services & still trying to charge u the same price anyway. I get it. I’d consider going to to a more historical, struggling hotel. Or get a 2 star hotel, and donate what u would pay at Equinox to the cleaning staff (if you’re lucky enough to do that).
I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms are spacey with glass windows from floor to ceiling. The rooms are equipped with all the latest gadgets and next level snacks. I love all the bathroom products carefully selected. This hotel understands the importance of sleep quality, healthy levels and health optimisation. I also had a few spa treatments which were all great. One of the best feature for me was the infra red sauna. So worth it. Great for mitochondrial health. The in room dining menu was packed with amazing options and good quality ingredients including grass fed cows and wild caught fish. Hotel is in an excellent location. My mum couldnt sleep due to jetlag. I ordered room service for a melatonin smooth and she fell asleep immediately. 👌🏾😀All in all, Equinox deserves more than 5 stars today. I love this hotel and the amazing staff. Thanks so much for making my stay so memorable.
Love love loved my experience!!! We enjoyed the sauna and wave table experience. The gym is beautiful. Our room had such a great skyline view!!! It was soo great! Will definitely go back!! Food was pretty good too. Friendly staff. Very accommodating:) highly recommend!!
So much to like about this hotel. Yet I think it may have been a bad fit for two 60-something traditionalists spending their 40th anniversary in their favorite city. The hotel is in the middle of Hudson Yards, a new, under construction part of Manhattan that is already a very dynamic area. Theres no lobby (you enter at street level) and take an elevator to the 25th floor where there are two desks to check in. Didnt mind the lack of lobby but the check in area could be more comfortable with the addition of seating. Staff (which overall was some of the friendliest, most helpful group of people weve ever encountered at any hotel we stayed at) are dressed to create a very modern, hip hop vibe (not really our thing). The rooms are very modern, well appointed, pretty comfortable and very expensive ($1,000+ per night). There could be more surfaces to put stuff on, but thats a minor criticism. We received a complementary bottle of champagne to help celebrate our anniversary ... a nice touch. We rented a room with a river view, which did not disappoint. The view wouldve been enhanced if the windows had been cleaned, but with the amount of construction in the area I imagine that would be need to be a daily task. Our package included free breakfast, which we had delivered to the room. Glad we did not pay for this as two eggs, dry toast, juice and coffee was billed at $54. Breakfast itself was $38, plus there was a $10 delivery charge and a $6 gratuity included. Our package also included $25 in credits to spend anywhere and we chose to visit the patio bar. A great spot with comfortable seating in a topiary atmosphere with dramatic views of the Hudson river. I believe a significant part of the attractiveness of this hotel for some patrons is use of the Equinox spa and gym facilities. We did not use them or even look at them (other than see the outdoor pool from the Vessel, across the way). So if this perk is what others would find attractive then we did not receive the value we could have. But that was not part of our anniversary celebration. So overall, we had a very enjoyable stay, in a stylishly, modern facility employing some of the most friendly, helpful staff weve encountered. Aside from the stylistic differences we had, our only substantive criticism would be value. From our experience there are places to stay in Manhattan at that price point that would offer greater value. That notwithstanding, Equinox is a fine addition to the Manhattan hotel scene.
The staff was great and accommodating, location is prime, and room was a generous size. However the elevator seemed to be a big problem for myself and many of the guests. There are two elevators you must traverse to get from ground floor to room. The wait time was long and on multiple occasions I saw people wait for the next one as the elevator was already jammed tight with people. The pool and gym were overcrowded as well. I believe people with equinox memberships are able to use the hotel facilities which make it less of an exclusive gym even though you are paying exclusive prices for the room. They were also doing construction to the hotel about a few floors below me outside on a terrace and seemed to start at 6 or 7am on a Saturday morning. I understand construction is necessary at times but in a hotel setting I would avoid loud hammering work on a weekend morning
No details forgotten. We live less than 30 miles away and have plans to stay a week just to enjoy the hotel/club/bar/restaurant experience for our second time.In a city with 400 plus hotels finding one with everything, yes everything is hard to find. Look no further. When in NYC Book the Equinox.Doorman is awesome!
My husband surprised me for my birthday with an overnight to the hotel (we live in Brooklyn). This was thrilling beyond because 1. as a mom of a toddler, I pine for the eucalyptus towels of my past, and everything else that made Chique-uinox near and dear to me as a member on and off since the mid 90s who dreams of rejoining, and 2. I literally could think of nothing more fun on our 24 hours away (our second solo mini-trip since having a baby) than trying out your new hotel! It is the stuff of my fantasy. It did not disappoint -- what a beautiful, calming environment with such spectacular attention to detail. Two pools! The separate duvets for each side of the bed! The relaxing sleep vessels. They thought of every detail. And yet, as sleek and as cool as it is, what was really lovely was how incredibly warm and down-to-earth (and attentive) the staff is. From Sebastian and Adam - who I gleefully called to book my Precision Run class (which of course I then cancelled once we got the hotel -- who wants to leave the room?), to Robbie and Gregorys warm welcome and follow-up with our requests, Peter -the bartender at the amazing Electric Lemon, who is a world class mixologist and so knowledgeable about the food, but super fun, too -- you have an extraordinary staff. I say this as someone who has traveled and stayed at luxury hotels around the world for work-- I am so impressed with the wonderful group of people who work so hard behind the scenes of your hotel. Thank you for making it such a memorable experience for us.
Beautiful decor and gym. Disappointing situation with pool set up and it over taken by gym members versus hotel guests. If you are a paying guest of the hotel there should be a better situation to ensure you have a spot at the pool. Additionally recommend they have their own platform for TV access versus Apple. Leaves too much error for log-in problems and connection issues.
Our family celebrated my wifes birthday this past weekend at Equinox hotels at Hudson Yards. We have stayed at many hotels and of course the property is beautiful, but Equinox Hotels at Hudson Yards stood out amongst others. The ‘staff’ was exceptional... from the moment you checked in to checkout, everyone went beyond their job duties! Thank you everyone!
Had a wonderful staycation here at Equinox Hotel. The things I loved the most are their full sized amenities and their sleeping system. I was there for 2 nights and I felt completely rejuvenated on departure. The concept around “Dark, cool and quiet” is brilliant and it is perfect for those travelling from far or in need of a proper sleeping in without interruptions. Many hours were spent behind the scenes to create such a unique product, I can’t wait to experience other Equinox hotels once they are open.
So yesterday I wrote and awfulReview on a manager named “Beth”. The review is still awful, but come to find out the front office manager who I spoke with and wasn’t named Beth after all !! She lied to me about her name because obviously she knows how disgusting of customer service she was giving me. Unreal ! I called and spoke to Kristen tonight who kindly let me know no Beth works there. She then heard my story and tried covering for whoever saying Beth could be in another department. As if ! Thanks Kristen but she kindly introduced herself as the office manager. Just thought id let everyone know how rude and unprofessional this lying manager is ! I’ve stayed in all the hotels in manhattan and never have I ever been offered nothing but grief from a manager. Smh.
Very young crowd ... probably BCG two-year analysts. Self-conscious about seating us before reservation time. Not self-conscious keeping us waiting for 40 minutes for main course. Food is competently prepared if unimaginative. Not where we would take people we want to impress. Great uniforms, though ... love the spread collars!
If you are a person of color, you will not be welcomed at this Equinox Hotel in Hudson Yards. I am very disappointed in this NYC hotel that truly fails to embody what this city stands for. This weekend, a receptionist named Amy and her manager showed the racism within this establishment by participating in the overt discrimination of my black friends who were paying customers and were not treated as such. I cannot suggest this hotel to anyone, whether they are of color or not.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay. Their team was professional and welcoming. The building is beautiful with every amenity you could ever want with wonderful views of the city and the Hudson river. Their room-service was next level. Their restaurant (Electric Lemon) was delicious. Cant wait to come back!

2022-01-095 star hospitality all the way! From check in to check out we felt truly welcomed and honored to stay here. The location is quiet and located right on the Hudson. Room service top notch. Plus, the hotel is super accommodating to dogs and were very friendly towards our pup. A big shout out to Dan at the front desk— such a kind, personable soul who made our stay even more memorable. Will definitely be back!

2022-02-03One of the best U.S. hotel stays I’ve ever had—perhaps the best? The rooms are extremely large for New York City and are outfitted with all modern finishes. It is controlled completely via iPad. Complimentary laundry service for your gym clothes is a great touch. The service is impeccable and all of the staff members are willing to go above and beyond. This is a hotel that feels more like a small, ultra-modernresort inside a very large city.

2021-12-29We usually try different hotels in different neighborhoods for our annual NYC trip. This year we tried the Equinox in Chelsea. We had one negative experience - room service served a milk product to my son with a dairy allergy in spite of fact he ordered a vegan dish and specified he had a severe allergy. Fortunately he was able to calm the reaction with Benadryl and some sleep. The hotel apologized profusely, followed back up with restaurant, and credited our bill. But setting this incident aside, it really was a nice hotel. We really enjoyed the location in Chelsea, right near the High Line and the Chelsea Market. We especially liked the gym, which was expansive with some great city views. And we liked the rooms, which while on the smaller side, were clean, well organized and nicely decorated. The Electric Lemon restaurant was also nice for breakfast and an after dinner drink. Years of business travel have made me hyper critical of hotels, and so positive reviews come few and far between for me. But the Equinox is a place I would return to again.

2022-06-05We stayed here for a week in May and the hotel was fantastic. Location can’t be beat. It’s convenient to nearly everything either via walking, the High Line, or subways and Citi Bikes. The staff was on point and very helpful. The rooms was modern and felt luxurious. We would definitely stay here again.

2022-03-04Staying at Equinox was my best idea to compliment to my NYC trip. It was such a great experience from the hotel room to the view that I had. The room was spacious with the view to the New Jersey River. Everything is new and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful. I definitely come back next time if I visit NYC again.

2022-01-22Finding a luxury updated hotel in Manhattan, with updated rooms, friendly service, modern amenities and a view is close to impossible. But this hotel meets all these expectations and more. The only downside is the restaurant is small and limited in dining options and open to the public. Perhaps not ideal for business meetings but ok for a quick drink/bite.Location is ideal and the rooms had everything one would need for a pleasurable stay including access to natural supplements, sleep aids, snacks, drinks, work out equipment and leisure wear.Service was incredible despite a very limited room service menu. Might want to bring your own water/necessities with you to the room.

2022-02-01It’s ok. The room was fine. small compared to non NYC hotels but fine for NYC. Comfortable bed and decent bathroom. Water pressure / volume was choked down. Mildly annoying.Staff checking you in try hard but they don’t have bell hops or additional help. You stand in a queue. The restaurant / bar is run by a separate company and they don’t communicate with the hotel. No benefit from staying at the hotel. My girlfriend and I ordered someMixed drinks at the bar. They were watered down. Tried another one , again tasted watered down. Finally ordered a high end tequila , neat. That tastes fine. bar tender poured himself one as well,

2022-03-16PerfectionAbsolutely love this hotel - its a true 5 star hotel with incredible amenities and truly wonderful staff. Every staff member was helpful, kind and friendly. Housekeeping never missed a beat and made sure my suite was equipped and comfortable. My suite was spacious, spotless and luxurious. I am a long time Langham guest but the Equinox levels up in all aspects - it does not disppoint.

2022-05-16Stayed here twice and each experience was terrible. The front desk staff literally checked us into a dirty room and did not apologize. I had to ask to speak with their guest experience manager. The hotel itself is nice and well-pointed with nice amenities. Spa was nice overall. But front desk team is incompetent and not well trained, and in room dining was bad. The only restaurant electric lemon was just okay.

2022-02-17Absolutely disappointed with services I received at the Spa at the Equinox hotel Hudson Yards . My boyfriend booked an hour long E full body massage for Valentine’s Day instead I received a 45 minute partial body massage. The entire experience felt rushed. When the massage was over I asked why my arms had not been addressed at all throughout the duration of the massage and the guy said “we ran out of time.”Absolutely lost for words never have I ever experienced such treatment. Instead of leaving the massage relaxed, relieved and tension free I left disappointed, mistreated and even more tensed than I went.
