Although I had easily made an appointment online, once I arrived early for it, it still took almost 2 hours to get through the wait. They checked you in outside, waiting in line outside took an hour, then almost another hour inside doing different transactions and waiting again. I must say though, everyone I dealt with was VERY nice and friendly!TIP: opt for the first available appointment of the day if you need to get through quickly!
Not so hectic as normal. With everyone having to make appointment times things were orderly, at a safe, social distancing rate. The wait times seemed not as bad as you would expect, but theres always the normal few people who end up holding things up for one reason or another. Not a bad experience though, especially if you have your paperwork done ahead of time......AND BRING A PEN
The security guard was great. Front desk lady was very helpful after we got past her initial rudeness, after I explained I could not hear what she had asked🙄. The first person we went to was very nasty and rude. No patience whatsoever. He was truly the definition of lame. Went to another lady and she was absolutely wonderful and helpful. I understand they have to deal with so many people and most are rude, but being so nasty to people who are being polite and trying to cooperate is unacceptable and just plain pathetic. Oh, and not once did I see anyone cleaning or sanitizing anything.
Make sure you bring a pen!!Staff is good at reminding people to socially distance. Its the DMV, so its not going to be fun at all, but remember that the employees are doing their best to get everyone taken care of.Try to make an appointment and Id recommend arriving at least 30 min ahead to get through reception.
I had a scheduled appointment. Some waiting in line had no appointment, said they didnt know they needed an appointment, or just plain ignored the covid rules. Overall my experience inside was efficient, helpful & polite. I do wish those that were taken ahead of me would have followed the rules.
First day it has been open in months and made an appointment. People who did not were upset that they did not know. It was a little unorganized for Day 1 but once my name was checked off I was done in 20 min. Just the initial being in line with people not social distancing and being upset because nothing was marked outside about needing an appointment or where to stand in line. Once inside the building the process and set up was smooth. It goes faster if you have all the correct forms and papi filled out.
My appointment was for 3pm, I arrived around 2:30pm., I was given a number and it was called about 3:20pm. All in all it went pretty smoothly. Covid-19 regulations were being followed. It appeared to me that some people were a little confused about the ongoing process.
What a great experience walking into this DMV! Everyone was pleasant smiles the whole place was calm with all the people present,, at least 30 people. Supervisor(Chris) great customer service, pleasant, kind and answered all our questions. Cashier happy smiling and pleasant. We were in and out within 15 minutes. Thank you and keep us the great work!!
Went on a Saturday, it was a little crowded. But hey! Which government office isn’t? The staff was very helpful and there were so many booths that my number was called within 15 minutes of me walking in the DMV. They even helped me with my questions. No one was rude unlike the employees in other government offices.
Had a 9:20am appointment on a Saturday morning. Arrived at 9:00, used the kiosk to sign in, called at 9:15. Had an extremely friendly woman assist me, got my paperwork, picture for the enhanced...Bam! Out at 9:30. Place was packed... make your appointments people before complaining...
Went there Aug 20 .2020, was third in line.First desks was great very nice guy was getting my Enhanced license done.Then waited for 5 minutes when to Desk 12, What a nasty women,Just because the nice guy didnt know i wanted my enhanced license, She had a break down yelling to me go back in line and get your papers scan, Now the line out the door 50 people or more,I said why cant you just do it. Thats not my job ,get back in line.I told her I was here at 830 waiting third in line WELL she said we open at 900,So went back to nice guy He let me go in front of the line.Fill out the papers got the scan.then went to desk 4 very nice lady ,Was told desk 12 is very nasty hates her job,Thats her desk everyday so watch out for the mean lady.Thank God I only come every 8 years maybe she be gone 2027.
They just started to open by appointment only. You do need to book online on the website. I waited 2 weeks for an appointment that would work for me. Very organized, I was in and out in 20 min. Waiting in line to check in took the longest because people come unprepared and dont have forms filled out ahead of time.
I live in Genesee County and was unable to get into my local DMV office in Batavia. I went online made an appointment with this DMV, got in and out without any issues. It was the fastest I have ever been in and kut of the DMV ever! They were Covid-19 compliment and making sure everyone was following the regulations. You do need an appointment to come in so I recommend going online to make it....very easy.
I went to another dmv office, they are well known for not doing their job and bad behavior, so rejected my documents for very silly reasons. However, my friend ask me to go this location they are very good people. I got the token at 7:15 and at 7:45 got my registration in hands. Lady at counter 11 was very polite, knowledgeable and kind hearted. Bottom line: Not all Buffallo dmvs are bad..
Workers are very rude , half of them don’t even know what they’re doing , act like they don’t understand a thing you’re saying like you’re an alien or something , intentionally unhelpful , they don’t even TRY to understand you & there patience is wack , I went there to renew a document , had all my info but was sent from desk to desk ,with both of them telling me that I needed different information.Never again if I could rate this no stars I would.Plus you gotta come in with your own pen or else they’ll get very disrespectful LOL
Had to exchange my peeling plates for new ones. I was #10 in line when I walked in. Was in and out in 15 minutes! The lady that took care of me was very nice, too!Lots of people complaining that the office was closed when they went there on holidays... Federal, State, and County offices close on holidays. It is listed in the newspaper too. They should know that.
Terrible. came in to register my inflatable boat w motor was told by 3 workers all info was correct but girl at counter got superior and her manager said need more info. the boat does not come with the Id # in book you get it off of boat but not acceptable. place sucks terribly bad

Just drove from Niagara Falls to this DMV because there website clearly stated they are open today, Saturday May 26th. We showed up to turn in our plates (The date that is on my paper to turn them in) and they are closed! We were there for barley 10 minutes and in that time span over 50+ people showed up due to the website stating they were open. Inside of the building they have a small sign saying they are closed today for memorial day weekend. Its just horrible, I highly suggest going to a different DMV, The eastern hills mall is your best bet, they are very nice and usually not busy. Oh and they are open when the website says they are open!
In my almost 20 years of DMV experiences...this one was by far the best!!! Greeted with a smile and a joke that was pretty funny by Patricia at the information desk...she then kindly and patiently helped me figure out what I needed to register my new trailer. Pat got me the paperwork I needed to start filling out and a number so I didnt have to wait longer. My number was called before I finished filling out said paperwork and Camilla was so kind to let me stand at the window and finish filling it out while we chatted and she helped me with parts I didnt know. She got me all set up in about 15 mins from walking in to walking out. Like I said BEST DMV visit ever!!!! I hope you get Patricia and Camilla...wonderful wonderful ladies!!!!
Its the DMV people. Come prepared and youll be fine. Come unprepared and crabby as hell and you wont be. Busy on a Saturday, as any place normally mon-fri would be. If you plan on a Saturday make sure its not a holiday weekend or theyll be closed. Just like the bank. Common sense. Long wait but thats not really their fault. Be kind and have a good attitude and youll get it in return.
People not social distancing the sheriffs officer was just standing in the corner not doing his job chatting it up with others drinking water and ignoring the fact that people didnt have their mask on properly that they were standing basically in your back pocket three thumbs down
There is someone named Lisa working at this location who is completely unaware of polices and very aggressive and irate. I had to call Albany to get more information about a policy that was introduced a few months ago. The communication and service at this location was horrible. Lisa needs service training and ethics training because she was not only unaware of policies but she was dismissive, rude and did not show empathy. She could not communicate and I left feeling attacked an unaware of regulations she should have mentioned. Thankfully Albany apologized for her negligence. Dont have high hopes of service prior to going here.
In this morning I’ve been there with my sister in law. The sort guy who works at the customer service center he is very racist. I just asked him simple question regarding Ny permit and he answered with angry face. Also he kept my sister in law’s document under those couple people who even came after us. I guess he shouldn’t face this type of job.
Would do negative stars if I could. Im a night nurse and the hours that the DMV is open are the hours I need to sleep. As a result I had a difficult time getting there to renew my lisence. I had to go in person because I needed the vision test, and didnt have a vision care doctor. I went there the day before it expired, as I reached the door to enter the building, a lady came out, locked the door, and posted a sign that said they were closing early due to weather conditions, and then refused to listen to me when I begged with her that my license was expiring and I couldnt come back tomorrow because I had a 6am flight the next morning. She then started ignoring me, and refused to say anything other than Were closed or Come back tomorrow. Happy freaking birthday to me. This was horrible customer service and downright rude, and I really hope that they never have to go through the anxiety that Im experiencing now due to their actions.
I dont even want to give them a star. I wait TWO hours for a single FAX to be sent for them to not have the fax machine working. Then call this number in two days to make sure its cleared - Oh shocking no one did their job so after waiting an HOUR on the line for someone to tell me that. They hung up on me....AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE.....NOT. Oh and do your damn job.....
Showed up to register my car since i work during the week. Was there at 945 since there hrs are listed listed 7 to 1. Arrived to a bunch of people upset it wasnt open. Nowhere listed does it state closed for a special reason. Completly disrespectful to waste peoples time and gas money driving out like that
The business hours claim they are open until 6:45 PM on Wednesdays. I arrived at 5:45 11/16/16 and had the door shut in my face by the clerk saying our doors say 5:45. The door clearly has a sticker that is peelable so they can close as they want on Wednesdays. Very unprofessional on their part. It takes a certain type of person to work at the DMV, this woman clearly doesnt cut it.

Your hrs online state open Saturday February 18, 2017 from 7am to 1pm. I get there and doors are locked with sign closed in observance of Presidents Day. Really? !! On a Saturday?!! So I guess youll be closed Monday as well, since it is Presidents Day. People like me were depending on you to be open on Saturday since I work Monday thru Friday. Thanks DMV. 😤
I had to go to the DMV today, I like many others choose to go on a Saturday, due to working during the week. The hours at this location are 7:00 am to 1:00pm, I got there at about 11:45 am and they were closed! Another person waiting there told me they closed at 11am! I am extremely upset, as my situation needed to be done by today’s date!
Would give negative stars if i could people were rude for no reason..I didnt give no attitude I wasnt being rude at all..and I went there 7 times for the same thing the people there try n dig up any reason to not do something for you..the supervisor was rude to me I was talking with her n she legit just turned away from me n started talking to the next person I couldnt even believe it..will never go there again legit..

2022-04-21I am 17 years old and just had my road test in NT with Jake, one of the examiners, and I am utterly disappointed. I took drivers ed lessons and every single instructor I’ve had my lessons with has been excellent at accommodating each lesson specifically for areas I’ve wanted to receive extra practice in. Each instructor I’ve driven with was kind, motivated and respectful towards me. On my road test today before Jake even got into my car looked miserable outside and as soon as he sat down I respectfully greeted him with a kind “Hello how are you?” And in response all that was said back to me by him was “Good.” with a very straight face. You having a “bad day” should NOT interfere with the way you evaluate me. I noticed that all throughout my test when he prompted directions he had a slight attitude and sounded so rude and irritated. If you really hate this job so much there are plenty of other fields that could use employees. Highly disrespectful even to my drivers ed instructor. At the end of the test my instructor told him to have a nice day and Jake did not say a word back to him. That in itself is not only disrespectful but extremely unprofessional. The fact that a seventeen year old is spotting out all of this is just embarrassing. Jake should not even be a road test examiner. He made me feel extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. If you’re seriously here trying to intimidate students and be that nit picky and miserable you shouldn’t be evaluating my road test. At least put a smile on your face and appear presentable. I don’t ever want to see his face again and feel horrible for anyone else that has him as an examiner. Do better.

2022-04-18Had an online appointment ahead of time, and I was in and out before my appointment technically started. I was there maybe a total of 15 minutes with 2 different transactions. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars is because the 2 times I was greeted I felt like I was a nuisance. Otherwise, the staff seemed friendly enough and it was a comfortable enough atmosphere.

2022-05-07I was able get my title & address change taken care of in a prompt fashion, without even having an appointment. Unsure of what I needed, I was called up to speak with Arthur, what a blessing! He helped me in a variety of ways, & never even asked me to fill out anymore papers, saved me money, & his customer service was top of the line!!! Thank YOU Arthur for having such a beautiful soul & Thank whomever raised you for me...

2020-12-30I can not give a bad review for the DMV because, its not a place that is supposed to be fun. I expect to be in long lines, and it doesnt matter what business you have to conduct here. Your going to be waiting for quite sometine. To make the experience somewhat better, I suggest you make sure you have all your paperwork in hand. Also, many of the services provided here can be done online. It helps also to have a positive attitude, especially when speaking with the clerks. They have a tough job dealing, with the multiple personalities thats out there. They dont need a never headache from you.

2022-06-01The most rude and argumentative people I have ever met. This should have been a quick and easy process but they wanted to make it complicated. My plate was stolen and gave me a hard time and made me pay for new plates, even though they should have been free. Avoid this DMV at all costs since they will scam you.

2022-06-15I had a pleasant visit. I had to sit down because of leg pain. The guard and the lady at the window made sure I kept my place in line. I was in and out as fast as possible.

2022-02-12Surprisingly easy going. It definitely helps if everyone does their part including making reservations, bringing all the correct paperwork and most importantly be kind. We all come in here stressed out on both ends, employee and customer alike. The DMV doesnt have to be a scary, terrible place.

2022-03-31Needed to renew a license and the whole process was super fast. In & out. Compared to DMVs in NYC, this place was a breeze. In NYC it takes around an hour to do anything.

2022-01-12Extremely unhelpful very rude. The lady identified as a supervisor but was extremely rude, I asked the same question 20 ways and I guess she never understood . I asked her had I done or said anything to make her so upset she said no but continued being very abrasive and just over all nasty . Will try and avoid that place when ever possible.
