Dont let the plastic utensils fool you. The food was great. I can only comment on the Caldo de Res (beef soup) since that is all I ordered. It may ha e been the beat Caldo de Res Ive ever tasted. (My mother-in-laws is a close second, but she doesnt read English, so I can be truthful.) It was spicy and flavorful with a rich broth. The corn, chayote and string beans were not too soft nor over cooked. I asked for jalapeños on the side, even though the soup is hot. On the negative side were the store bought tortillas and the long wait for the soup. At $14 its not super cheap, but it definitely filled me up.
Pretty good food only did appetizers though. Definitely will have to come back to try more.

Reason for a 1 star review is due to several changes. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for many years, they used to have amazing food and great customer service. For the past two years things started to change along with a new host who I have to say is very rude, I believe he is the reason why the quality of the food and service has changed. I am ver disappointed in the turn which this restaurant has taken. The food isn’t that great anymore and the host is definitely going to drive customers away little by little. It’s really sad the direction this place has taken. Glad the Bronx has many other restaurants I can go to.
Ordered food which was supposed to arrive around 6:00-6:10. I received the food at 7:04, and this is how the inside of the bag was. Food was cold, and not cooked to par. Im extremely disappointed and disgusted with the service I received today. Will not order from them ever again.

Bronx on Arthur Avenue location with many restaurants to chose from Mexican to Italian foods. Atmosphere was pleasant. Food arrived quickly but warm. Waiters presented menu but did not offer water. Music was low and you are able to have a conversation without screaming. Tables separated by a plastic divider. Nice location to experience local Mexican food.
Everything was so good🤤I had sopes one with carne asada, and one al pastor. The carne asada was my fave, al pastor is always a little salty for me. We also had queso fundido, also very salty, very tasty nonetheless. My friend had birria tacos w consume, very flavorful .Its starting to get cold outside, so we cant really expect for a server to stand outside, so we did have to get up acouple times to ask for somethings, no biggie, no issue. The service was great!Little Italy doesnt feel like the bx

HONESTLY! The BEST Mexican food I’ve EVER HAD! There’s so much variety on the menu! I was overwhelmed; everything looked SO good. I highly recommend getting a tortilla soup, maduros, and a protein bowl with some ice cold horchata on the side... a DELICIOUS and AUTHENTIC experience! Placed an order at 4:50pm through UberEats And gave us an estimate of about an hour. At 7:15pm UberEats cancelled the order. I called the restaurant before the order was cancelled to ask why they were taking so long since the driver was waiting for a while already and the rude staff member said that my order was “too big” And It would take a while. Mind you It was only enchiladas and stake!! Horrible customer service.
If disappointment had a face, itd be that of the Torta de milanesa (Mexican chicken cutlet sandwich) that I ate here.I decided to order from this place using postmates and was annoyed at the 2+ hour wait time it took to get my meal.Upon calling the restaurant I was met with a man speaking in a tone indicative that he was distraught that I decided to call and ask why my food was not yet ready. On top of having me wait, my patient postmate was also there for too long. He also complained about the restaurant after I received my food.Now the food, terrible. The torta I had bought, was stiffer than a rock. If I had chosen to throw the sandwich out of my window it may have very well killed any unsuspecting pedestrian that walked by, or broken the concrete sidewalk. I cant believe I didnt chip a tooth after taking that initial bite.I imagine the cook was mad that I had the audacity to call the restaurant and ask about the progress of my meal.On top of that I ordered two tacos de Chorizo which were burnt, stiff, cold, and tasted like garbage, because thats essentially what that was.Worst 55$ purchase of my life thus far, and it sucks because I love food, and I love myself a good torta.The nachos were surprisingly ok, although they had a weird taste to them which made the ok bad.Overall, spend your money on another Mexican place because this mexican place will only bring you disappointment, and a possible broken tooth.
The food is really great. The cemitas (chicken, carnitas) are great. Fajitas are tasty and the serving is large (with a generous amount of rice and beans). However, the delivery is atrocious. On numerous occasions I have waited more than an hour for my food and on one occasion it took them 2.5 hours for a single item of food. 5 stars if you’re picking up or eating at the restaurant, 1 star if you’re getting delivery.
I got the steak quesadilla which comes with rice and beans and it was BOMB! The cheese inside was melted to perfection and the steak was so soft. Service was outstanding. Definitely recommend!!

I ordered the basic enchiladas (verde). The seasoning was excellent, super spicy! The service was mediocre. After we paid with our credit card we were charged more for not using cash. Be aware. Atmosphere was basic,- not warm or cozy, sangria warm and weak.
My uber eats order came back all messy. They packed the drinks with the food which caused it to spill all over the food. I called to tell them about the situation and they just hung up on me and didn’t want to take responsibility.

If I could give this place 1/2 star, thats what I would rate it. Horrible experience, waited over an hour for our food, waitress didnt check in with us in over 30 minutes, we had to remind her about my kids drinks, didnt get a water refill until we asked every time, she brought us the wrong order..... Simply a mess! Two other tables who got three after us got their food before we did, and the lame explanation we got was they ordered something that is quick to make. It wasnt like we ordered something that required hours to make. The sangria was terrible and didnt even finish it because it had fruit that was soggy and was going bad.To tap it off, there was a $4.76 credit card surcharge that I inquired about with the waitress, who didnt have a clue about it.What a disappointing one experience, I hope no one goes through a similar experience.

Worst delivery service I’ve ever experienced. Would recommend picking up food. Om more than one occasion I have waited over an hour for my food without them even realizing it. I have had to call in multiple times reminding them that I ordered. Not once have they given me my money back or actually apologized for this happening. The food is not good enough to dismiss this kind of service.
Food mediocre. Setting depressing. We literally were elbow to elbow near other patrons. It felt like a communal dining area. The guacamole was bland.. lacking salt and lime. At one point when the waiter bring our food..he served it with plastic utensils..yes, you heard it right.. plastic. Im going to forgive it. Just once. I felt so generous and tipsy ( too much wine) that I even left a tip!!!!!
It was super packed in there and we waited for a long long long time for food but nonetheless it was really good and tasty....I wish they added a bit more black beans to my vegetarian taco but the shrimp on was good....too much lettuce tho, so you couldnt really catch the flavor

Very small place. I do not like Mexican food thus my star rating. However, I was taken there by my son and his girl friend and they just love the place and its food. Tables are so close, the couple next to us could not help themselves from joing on on our conversation.
Ok food i have always thought was way over priced! I think thats a given its good just not $20 dollar appetizer good. But the margaritas are killers! They have one of the best still in Houston. OH yea you can never go wrong with the atmosphere. Great crowd!
If youre planning to visit on a Saturday night, please beware of the possible wait time! My party of six waited about 20 minutes to be seated despite there being tables available that couldve been arranged to fit us all. The service was also very slow; our server brought the food about fifty minutes after we had ordered. The food was delicious however.If you wouldnt mind the wait then this place is good.For my vegans out there: you can order anything from the menu (that doesnt contain meat) and make it vegan by omitting the queso fresco and crema.
The food here is always great. Never been disappointed. I have a few favorite dishes here. The only thing I would change is that the place is super tiny so on the weekends it is a very tight space.
Ordered 3 items at 8:30 didnt receive until 11:20 pm. On top of waiting 3 hours for an order of tacos, a salad and guacamole, they had forgot the order of guacamole and the food was stone cold. Never eating there again.
I ordered a torta & a steak & when I received my food the bread was burnt the steak wasn’t cooked properly & over seasoned ! I called back to the restaurant & the host was very rude and had me on hold for 10 minutes& then he proceeded to tell me I probably didn’t even buy it there & to bring it in person horrible customer service .!
Its refreshing to see a Mexican place in little Italy. Food is really good. The free chips tend to be stale but overall food is really good. Their green sauce is probably the best Ive had of all the Mexican places Ive tried. Try the horchata

Absolutely horrible experience with this restaurant!! Out of all days to truly ruin my families Cinco de Mayo. They somehow lost my food delivery and had no track of my order. It was close to a hundred dollar order. We placed the order at 5:25 pm and it was 8:30, plus I was on hold for 1 hour and all they said was we sorry we lost your order and hung up.Very poor service estrellita.
The food was good dont get me wrong. But we waited a whole hour for our food to arrive when there was only three other tables. And dont get me started on the new owners (White guys at the register) I believe always staring at people eat. Kinda gets uncomfortable. Anyways the food was delicious
I went there last night with friends from Fordham University to celebrate 5 de Mayo..!!! It was fantastic, excellent food/staff. Youll get good portions and the pricing is appropriate. Overall rating 5 stars without a doubt. :D
Its good for families, dates, and even a quick work lunch. The service is done well. The food is always fresh. And for starters instead of bread, they offer chips and s an awesome house salsa. 🌠
My wife and i decided we were in the mood for mexican food and found this cute lil spot. The service was great and the food even better. I had this corn on the cob but mexican style with mayo, cheese and chile powder on it that was so awesome. Prices are affordable. Would have given 5 stars but there were no margaritas as i was told it was because of the lack of space.
This was a great little Mexican find in the heart of Bronxs little Italy. Its definitely a hole in the wall with great Mexican fare, the service was spot on and they have perhaps the best guacamole Ive ever had. It was a little dirty, but it did not detract from the environment – make sure you pull really hard when opening the bathroom door.

Ive been going to this place for almost 10 yrs great food great service! However the last visit I order a shrimp ceviche on the menu it says it brings rice with the meal. The server brought me the ceviche which had little shrimp and more oinions and cilantro. I ask the waiter if the meal came with something else. He lies and said no, it wasnt until I ask for the menu that he said he does bring rice. Guys this dish is almost $16.00 he spoke with the owner Im assuming (different faces there now) never came with the rice or a reason. As to why the rice was not given. The first time i have ever experienced service like this from a place I loved.
This was my first and last visit to this place.The drinks were watered-down to the point that I have to ask the waiter for an extra shot.The food was average and the prices outrageous .I was very disappointed
I actually just came from the restaurant about an hour ago and I wish I wouldn’t have gone there. The food was ok but the customer service was horrible. It took them close to an hour to bring the food out and never came back to the table for refills on any drinks. They add a surcharge when using a credit card which is ok but the customer should be notified before hand. A complete mess and a waste of money. I will not be coming back!
Delicious food and the portions are huge! Everyone is very friendly and pretty fast. The menu is very complete with the typical Mexican dishes you can find everywhere and some special ones!
We went here to have a meal thinking that it was gonna be like other excellent experiences that we have had at the other Estrellitas but it wasn’t so pleasant. The sit I was sat at has a whole and a pice of wood or iron that makes it very uncomfortable.The service was good, the ambience was somehow drunk with people that had reached their alcohol limit quite a while ago. A bit loud to my liking. Now, the food was OK but not as good as I expected. The Mole Poblano was something that we had but we did not like, the chef said that he was not gonna take it back maybe saying it was not his fault that it was not of the liking of a costumer. The food took some time to arrive. The chef and if there’s a manager, they should care more for the costumer satisfacción.
Came to here after a few drinks at The Bronx Beer Hall. Placed an order to go they forgot an item from my order so I called and came in the next day and they corrected my order perfectly. Very friendly staff, great flavors always 💕
I’ve been a client for over more than 6 years without any problems until today I decided to call once again to place an order that they ended not taking for me because they decided to tell me i have to show the bank card wich i was using to make the payment upon delivery in wich I didn’t have on hand because it was my wife’s card and she wasn’t home she just sent me a pic of the card they still said to me that they couldn’t sent the order even though i was a client for many years. Well I’m very disappointed i will never ever order again
The pico de gallo is always fresh and tasty, tortillas warm and taste oven fresh, so many choices on the menu, although juice selection is limited. Nice place to relax by yourself or with loved ones.

I love Estrellita Poblana III! I know you’re technically supposed to get Italian food while on Arthur Avenue, but if you are ever in the mood for Mexian food, Estrellita’s is the way to go. Their sangria and guacamole are so good!
I been twice in this place,both times been treated differently I felt so bad and sick by seeing the difference ,first time I went with my husband and it seems ok so later the same week I decided to bring family there , so we were 10 people at that night dining together, the plates looks totally different and half of the plate were empty , I called the attention to the worker as well send it to the manager but they thought was ok to say that they were right . So good bye and asta Nunca disgraciatos ,Ps: somos personas blancas,Pero no somos agluien para fastidiar y,si no le gusta pueden ir otro lugar que no sea un vecino blanco, vuelvan a Mexico mejor .-5stars

Tamales wrapped in banana leaf are soft and tender & wonderful to eat. The only bad thing is they only put a shred of meat in it. such a shame because everything else is perfect.

A popular haunt for Fordham University students and with good reason. Good food, lovely though crowded environment. Friendly staff. Whatever you do- order the champurrado. Its Mexican hot chocolate that is to die for

Will rate them 0 starts if I could .. they always late for deliveries they take 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours just to bring you the wrong food told them no jalapeńo like 5 times and what they do put jalapeńos on the food I call them and they ask all the staff if they made the mistake or I as a paying customer was making it all up they then say they will deliver the right food and send them the wrong one so let’s see how longNote ( if my husband would a eat a single bite of jalapeńo he would end in emergency room ) so these will teach us a lesson not to order again

2022-01-13Absolutely loved it ! Me and my family went to eat out for an evening, we were originally going to another restaurant but due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were not able to sit. As unfortunate as that was, it led us to this awesome little spot. Ive been here once before but it exceed my expectations, great food, giant Servings and great customer service, what else could you want ? Haha definitely give it a shot if your near by!

2022-05-20Estrallita’s is definitely one of my favorite restaurants on arthur ave! every single dish i’ve ever tried from here has been amazing. the pitchers of margaritas and mojitos are a great deal, and both taste so fresh! i’d definitely recommend coming here if you want to hang out and chat with friends for a while.

2022-03-30Worst experience ever ! Never trying this place again !! I placed a delivery & when my food arrived the tacos were BURNED from the inside & when I called to give a complaint the person on the phone sounded very intoxicated & told me that there was nothing they could do about the situation because that’s how they are served and that they were deep fried in the air fryer which sounds beyond RIDICULOUS and not only that but some of the other foods I ordered were cold..they did send a second order of my tacos but they were also burned as well & didn’t want to provide me with my money back ! Won’t ever have me ordering food from there again

2022-01-27The food was great and the service was even better. Now there was only one waiter there...poor guy...dealing with approx. 4 tables himself and he was still attentive and helpful. The only negative thing i can say was since its a really small restaurant every time the door opens your gonna feel that cold breeze. It was cold outside. But food and service was great!

2021-06-17I visited this restaurant last night for a bite to eat with a friend and unfortunately did not have great service. The table had dirty cutlery on it when we arrived thankfully the waitress brought new ones. The drinks weren’t good and my water came with a fly in it. I ordered a margarita it was watered down with barley any tequila in it. The food we ordered came incorrect and over cooked so I had to send my order back. The chicken burrito I had was very dry and the tortilla it was it felt chewy. The breaded shrimp my friend ordered was over cooked and hard. The only food that I enjoyed was the appetizers: chips and different types of salsas and the guacamole. Definitely wasn’t worth the $70 paid for everything.

2018-07-26One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Bronx. The menu is amazing the service is fantastic. The waiters are so nice and very attentive. It really feels like you are sitting in a Mexican restaurant in Mexico. Their sauces are so good as well.

2022-03-05Those of you who live close by do not realize how lucky you are to have Estrellita’s!! I lived in the Belmont neighborhood for five years and no Mexican food from anywhere will ever beat it. There’s nothing bad you can order from here. I miss living close by and can’t wait to go again in the future.
