I worked with Ruth Yankiver at Ethan Allen over the past several months in a redecoration of my entire apartment. I told her my favorite colors, and she prepared a presentation of alternatives for living, dining room and bedroom furniture that were perfect for me. If we could give Maxwell Reagan more than 5 stars we would! What an amazing experience with him! We had to furnish an entire new home and Maxwell made it the most painless, pleasurable experience ever. He came to our new home, made an assessment of space and then designed a stunning layout of fine Ethan Allen furniture and accessories. He took into account all of our likes and dislikes, color schemes and the theme for our home. The furniture was just delivered and it is amazing!! Everything fit to a tee and the colors are perfect! Our designer Sandra Diaz is the reason why we gave the 5 stars. She is everything we would expect from a high end design team. She caught every detail and assisted us all the way to the final stages. She is fabulous and she was all remote and in New York and we are in oregon!
This couch was the most expensive thing Ive ever bought, so I wasnt exactly a quick or easy decision maker. Daniella Lim held my hand through it, walked me through all of my options, helped me measure every couch to check that it would fit, and was a super helpful second opinion as I went through everything on two separate days. Since ordering, shes kept me updated on the status of my couch, and its going to be here earlier than expected! :)
I had a wonderful experience at the Third Avenue Store a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to set up a new apartment living room quickly and was fortunate to have had the great design assistance of Robert Nelson, Lead Designer. We worked together to select the pieces and fabrics. He pulled my floor plan and measurements and helped me elegantly configure the new space. I had a rough idea what I wanted yet Robert pulled the whole room together. Going above and beyond my expectations. He is super talented and was able to quickly read what I was looking for. It was super fun! Thank YOU!!

In response to EAs response: No, I worked with an EA designer, not an affiliate. And I do not want to provide additional information because, quite frankly, the designer I worked with is quite intense.Review: Be careful. We recently worked with a private designer referred by someone we know. We did not seek out services from Ethan Allen. The designer came to our home for a meeting/consultation and she charged us for the hour, which we paid. As she was leaving and we were discussing meeting again she mentioned she also works at Ethan Allen. She suggested we visit her there as everything is in one place and it would be easier to see what we like. We did end up working with her at EA and eventually realized Ethan Allens design services are supposed to be complimentary. She portrayed herself as a private designer, charged us for the initial meeting and then immediately funneled us through Ethan Allen collecting more money from commissions. Moral of the story: when you meet a private designer ask if they are affiliated with any company with a complimentary design service. If they say yes tell them you prefer to work with them in store, otherwise youll end up paying for that free design service and their pocket will be a little bit thicker. Sneaky...
Had a wonderful experience while shopping for living room furniture. Our customer associate Maxwell was very patient and extremely helpful. The quality of the products brought us into Ethan Allen but compounded by the great customer service, the overall experience was a relaxing and fulfilling event. Would highly recommend working with Maxwell if you are thinking of purchasing furniture for your home.
We desperately needed a new couch, but we just couldnt find one that suited all our needs. It needs to be an everyday couch that is big enough to be comfortable but small enough for our NYC apartment, and has to be able to stand up to our black dog. I had never considered Ethan Allen, because I thought it was out of my price range. But I was wrong! Sandra Diaz, who helped us with the project from beginning to end, helped us find the perfect, gorgeous couch--with beautiful Krypton fabric that will stand up to everything we throw at it. And with all the sales and discounts that we were able to apply, it was quite affordable! Everyone I dealt with at Ethan Allen through the entire process was fantastic, efficient, and lovely. We now have a beautiful, extremely comfortable couch that we love and use every day. I highly recommend Ethan Allen.

This is a very belated review as I have been busy enjoying my new furniture!My whole experience with Ethan Allen was exceptional. Of course the quality , delivery and customer service was excellent. Very typical of the standards you would expect of Ethan Allen. All representatives, ie. delivery schedulers and delivery personnel were all very professional.I needed to furnish a very large living room, with a somewhat challenging configuration. I was very fortunate to be assigned an exceptional designer, Ruthi Yankiver. Ruthi had so many wonderful ideas and listened to my needs. She planned the room beautifully and considered everything we needed for the way we live.. She also was completely understanding when we eliminated some pieces, without any ego. Her color and fabric suggestions may not have been what I would have normally chosen but we love them.Working with Ruthi was a wonderful experience, I can not recommend her enough. It really was a pleasure.
Horrible store, I came in and asked about wardrobe or clothing armoire and they said check Home Depot. Strange comment but regardless would never go back. Also the room temperature was close to 100 degrees inside in mid April.
Id highly recommend this location. I worked with Robert Nelson who was so helpful in recommending the perfect couch for my new apartment. He was very thorough, asked all the right questions and kept me from avoiding potential pitfalls. I especially appreciated him listening to my needs as a taller guy and staying within my budget.
I had an excellent experience working with Carmen at the Ethan Allen store on 3rd Ave in Manhattan. Everyone at the store was friendly and helpful, and Carmen did a great job of listening to my needs and then explaining exactly how the design, sale, and delivery process worked.
Ruthi Yankiver is amazing. Lovely to work with, great design but also manages your budget. I wasnt even buying that much furniture but she treated me as if i were a top customer and because of her i actually ended up deciding to buy more and make more changes to my home. She made me feel really comfortable. Buying furniture etc is very overwhelming and expensive and she made it enjoyable. Dont buy on the website, go to the store for this special treatment. Wont regret it.
We worked with Sandra Diaz to pick out a new couch and bed set. She was absolutely lovely to work with and extremely patient. We made several changes along the way and she made herself available multiple times to accommodate us when we returned to the store. She has a great sense of design and helped us pick out the colors and trimming and we trusted her opinion. She has a wonderful demeanor and we would definitely work with her again in the future.
Along with renovations of my home came the bittersweet reality that my beloved 30-year-old (and still going strong) EA living room furniture will not go with the new decor. Thankfully I repurposed all but one piece in another room. Then came the shopping for new furniture, which I did with the great help of Maxwell Reagan in the Manhattan store. He totally got my aesthetics and even my need to have cat-friendly furniture. Im thrilled with the look everything, and I fully expect the quality to be what I experienced before: great quality that will last a long time.
Ethan Allen designer Daniella Lim was terrific. She took care of our purchase of a Signature Firm mattress in a very friendly, professional, and efficient manner. We chose to visit Ethan Allen on the Upper Eastside to see sofas after weeks of browsing on so many internet sites. Upon entering the store we were welcomed by the receptionist Joyce Sforza and the designer Maxwell Reagan. Maxwell is amazing. Friendly, open and easy to work with. Maxwell is always professional and his knowledge about the Ethan Allen products was invaluable. My husband and I made several visits before deciding, and each time Maxwell engaged us in a dialogue and partnership where he listened to what we wanted, gave us time to think and gently steered us into choices we felt good about. After the purchase Maxwell has kept us updated on the delivery and helped us with fabric samples. We couldnt have asked for a better experience.Wanda B.
If youre looking for a large selection of high quality fabric for a home re-upholstery project, then Ethan Allen is the place to go. Ruth Yankiver has been amazing with getting us quotes on fabrics, offering suggestions, quoting new furniture with the fabric of our choice. The best thing about Ruth is her knowledge and honesty. We chose a fabric at the Watermill store (terrible store - absolutely no help whatsoever) and she quickly told us the limitations of the fabric, then immediately gave us several other options more appropriate for what we wanted. Love her and Ethan Allen!

I just re-did my living room with the help of the Ethan Allen design team and am thrilled with the results. I could not have gotten the same result on my own, and Omar and Ruthi provided the design expertise I needed and helped me create a design that maximizes the space I have, and articulates three zones - one for work, one for relaxing and one for dining. Their suggestions meshed perfectly with my taste and they recommended things I would not have selected on my own, but which work beautifully. I love my new space and look forward to enjoying it for many years. Well done!

I’ve had the pleasure working with Daniella Lim in finding the right sofa and other furnitures for my new apartment. I have to say she is fantastic! She was patient and helped me visualize my apartment with new furnitures in place on a laptop. We also had lots of fun mixing and matching the colors and the textures of different pieces. Daniella Lim was super patient, kind, and came across as very objective in her opinions (I.e. she didn’t try to up sell us). She was able to answer super detailed questions about construction, warranties, and fabrics... and made us feel confident that our purchase was the best one for us.
I don’t leave reviews, but had to speak up on this one. We moved recently and have purchased furniture from many retailers, including Ethan Allen. Our experience with them has been far and away the worst. We purchased a pull-out sofa with a replacement air mattress, wanting to spend more for higher quality. It was critical that this be delivered by a certain date for reasons we communicated to the salesperson at the time of purchase. We were assured this would all happen well within that timeframe and went forward with the purchase because of this promise. It has now been almost a month of 2 failed delivery and installation attempts, many calls and emails where we have been told to talk to other teams and people who are responsible for the mix-up—seemingly never the person we are on the phone with at that moment. It is beyond disappointing to make a big purchase with a promise that it will be delivered by a certain time only to be misled afterwards, with extended delays, continued confusion and a lack of responsibility across the board. We will not be returning to Ethan Allen as a result of this experience; instead we’ll continue to shop with the retailers who have delivered on their promises in recent months, such as Raymour & Flanigan, Wayfair and Macy’s.I do want to note that Ewa has been a bright spot in all of this - she has done her best to help us but unfortunately her efforts have not been enough to correct these continued, ongoing issues that have yet to be resolved.

Such a beautiful store. I pass by all the time on my way to work today on my day off I finally stopped by with my husband. The staff is beyond sweet. They let you browse without hounding you. They have the best selection of chandelier and lamps ever. Danielle was very sweet and kind. I truly would reccomend it to anyone looking for a unique one of a kind pieces.
Deborah is Gods gift to the picky but educated consumer. She makes you fell as if you are her Only customer. We are very happy with our sofa set. The staff at Ethan Allen are very experienced and helpful. The lady gave us great advice based on what we are interested in. The workmanship is excellent and neat. Very comfortable sofas . I will only go back to Ethan Allen for any future furniture.
Found a great sale, the quality of the furniture is very nice, delivery was a bit of a hassle, but it’s Covid time, so I understand. The only issue I have is that the chair has armrest covers, and one doesn’t match exactly the color of the upholstery, or fit quite right.
Everything about my experience was high end. Pricilla, the designer helped me make a small place into a beautiful area that “pops”. She helped me move out of my comfort zone into a different, beautiful, “to scale” apartment.Renee at the Danbury shipping site is terrific. Daniella Lim was extremely helpful. I am a diplomat and lived in several countries and encountered several sales/ designers. Daniella is defiantly one of the most helpful and knowledgeable experts I met. Very professional and classy. as a whole the experience was flawless and I look forward to shop more at Ethan Allen.
Our adventure with Ethan Allen had started like dream but turned to a disaster. I bought 7 pieces of furnitures in the second week of August. They pre-measured the building’s doors, hallway, elevators and apartment’s as well. I was told that the delivery would take time due to pandemics. They scheduled delivery for the first week of November. 2 weeks ago, they brought my sofa but it did not fit into the elevators or stairways. They took the responsibility since they’d already pre-measured the area and cut the new sofa into pieces. They literally sliced it and reassembled after they moved it inside the apartment. I told them I’m not satisfied and not ok with this product since it was seriously damaged inside but they defended themself by claiming the sofa appears good outside eye. Still I am waiting for a piece which I’m told that I have to wait 4 or 6 weeks more. It has been 18 weeks already. Please don’t tell me pandemics! The scheduled delivery was the beginning of November. They offered 10 percent’ further credit’ for that only piece as if I’m requesting money or planning to buy anything from that company again. I can show the photo of the delivered, sliced itemon request.

My experience with Ethan Allen could not have been better. This was due first and foremost to their wonderful designer, Ruth, who helped me from the very start. She transformed my apartment. I am so impressed with her creativity, sensitivity to my wishes, and patience.The entertainment unit is beautiful and the delivery was exceptional.
My husband and I were pleased with the customer servive. Jenny helped us resolve our best options since we have kids and always take space into consideration. We were pleased with price and delivery as well. We did not have any issues at all. The lady was also very accomodating with my children while we shopped. She offered my toddler toys to keep busy and my baby a blanket to lie him down on one of the stores couches. Very sweet!
I bought a couch and two chairs from Ethan Allen and was very disappointed with the quality of the furniture. Thankfully I bought the warrantee because the couch needed to be serviced several times already. The couch was delivered with frayed edges. The cushion covers needed to be replaced. Now the couch squeaks when someone sits on it. I have been waiting over a month for it to be serviced. I am bounced back and forth from the store to the service and repair company. Poor customer service! Look a little further when buying furniture. Dont stop at Ethan Allen!

Bought a great mattress from here! I originally went with firm, but after sleeping on it realized I needed a Medium. Nest was super helpful in getting my exchange processed and taken care of. Jonathan provided a quick, swift and easy delivery and exchange process. Highly recommend!
This is primarily for managers and corporate: Sell your accessories off of your showroom floor. I recently tried to purchase a pillow. It was taken out of my hand by the salesperson and I was told I could not purchase it now and that I had to order it, which would take about a month. Accessories are immediate satisfaction for the consumer. Consumers don’t want to wait a month or more for accessories. In times like these, I would think your company would jump at making any sell immediately.

I am more than pleased with my experience at Ethan Allen. I love my new bedroom and den. Ruthi Yankiver is the absolute best. She immediately zoomed in on what I was trying to create and she made it happen!
Altogether, it was a terrible ordeal. I bought a sofa (Emerson sofa, quick ship). The sofa that was delivered to me, was very uncomfortable because the cushions were way too stiff, making the seating area narrow and almost unusable. I went back to the store (1010 3rd Ave, New York) the next day but received a very strange advice - to use it, to jump on it for a week, or two weeks, or a month. I came back after a week and said that I want to return this sofa (I had 10 days from the delivery day, so a month-long jumping was not really an option). This time the manager told me that she is very sorry and suggested to chose another sofa from EA. I spent several hours at the store with a sales representative and finally made my choice, but when the next day I was in the store ( for the third time) ready to make an exchange, the same manager told me that they can’t approve the exchange because in my contract they found a line saying that the sofa I bought was listed as an EA custom product. I had to say that she examined the contract carefully two times before and didn’t say a word about a “custom product”. The quick ship products are not custom made, you have no choice but only can buy the product in a combination that EA suggests, and they are two times cheaper than custom made products. So, what they did is obvious manipulating if not intentional cheating. I filed a complaint to the BBB and hope to return my money, but my advice - STAY AWAY from Ethan Allen, to avoid cheating and humiliation…
From the beginning to the end, Richard was thorough and to his word. My couch was customized and of the highest quality. Richard made no promise he didnt keep, and went above and beyond to boot. To say Im satisfied is an understatement! Ill be back.
We visited Ethan Allen in September of this year. Our family made a significant purchase for our home in Ohio. We were told at the time it would take 8 to 12 weeks to deliver the furniture, and that the store would keep us informed of the status. At the 12 week mark we called and sent emails to find out the status. The status was that the furniture was done, and we would be seeing in a week. The furniture was not even shipped yet. Then we got a call a couple of weeks later that the furniture was delivered to the wrong location. This said location could not deliver the furniture. The furniture was then reshipped to a store that was some what local to us. Here we sit over 16 weeks with no furniture, and the store that sold it too us never updated any status through the entire process. We had family in from out of town for Thanksgiving and Christmas, which was one of the reasons for the purchase. They must be making money hand over fist to handle there clients in this fashion, because they just do not care. We will update if there are any issues with the furniture.
Five stars for the beautiful furniture, however... Just like Madame Tussauds the UES store is full of Old Wax Dummies! I dont know which was worse, the store manager who is petrified to deal with customers and appears to be in a permanent valium induced coma or my salesperson who proves too much hair dye does cause brain damage, hers was fried for sure! Rude, nasty, clueless and incompetent are the nicest words I can say about these people. Do yourself a BIG favor and save a lot of aggravation and SHOP at the Chelsea location, an Ethan Allen that embraces excellent and exceptional customer service.

2022-03-24My beautiful new sofa was worth waiting 5-6 months for. The color is more vibrant than i expected. The firmness of the seating is comforting. Its inviting to lounge on, sometimes putting me to sleep. Best custom made sofa investment ive made in many years.I was delighted to find a label under the cushions signed by the people who worked on it. Very nice personal touch.

2022-07-04Our designer helped us find just the right couch for us. It took us a long time, but we found the right style with the right cushion options (foam, down, etc.) and the exact right fabric and color to match our carpet. Delivery was also a lot faster than we expected, despite the overall prevalence of supply chain issues thee days. We were very pleased with our experience.

2022-05-05We had a wonderful experience at Ethan Allen working with the designer Priscilla.She helped us design a plan for the room, choose coordinating fabrics, and most of all she listened to our desires of how we wanted the rooms to look.The furniture came in on time, and looks gorgeous!!!Thank you to the manager Eva as well who was also so helpful.

2022-01-17Great experience shopping for my dining room table and the delivery wasgreat also. shopping with Sandra Diaz was good also and it would havebeen great if she had followed up after the delivery. Follow up is always good to check with the customer to make certain everything went well it really doesnt take a lot of time and it makes the customer feel good. Try it.......

2022-03-11Shout out to Jorge and Rob for helping my roommate & I load all our boxes into my Mini Cooper. They were definitely our guardian angels when we needed most. If you would have seen us shuffling the boxes back and fourth for 20 minutes you would have never thought we made it home & happy with all of our furniture :)

2022-02-25I bought a dining table and six chairs in August 2021, delivery was set for end of December but I did not get the delivery until mid January 2022. I guess given all the craziness with COVID, I shouldn’t be surprised with the delay. My in store experience ( 3rd ave and 60th street NYC) with the sales person was less than optimal. I found her to be dismissive when answering some of my questions. Never once did I receive a call or email re: the delay of my delivery. I had to call twice to get updates but did not speak to my sales rep. When she finally did call, again was dismissive about my questioning the delay.But the table and chairs are awesome and the delivery was fine.
