The playground is beautiful and the beach is easily accessible from the playground area. Lots of picnic tables and charcoal grills. The only negative was the litter on the playground and the beach. There are plenty of garbage cans around for people to use. Its sad really that some people cant be bothered.
We went camping here in July. They have a Nature Center here which was really great for the kids and perfect for if the weather isnt great. They have a reading area with lots of books about animals and lots of other things about animals that was very hands on. The Nature Center staff were super: friendly, knowledgeable and good with kids and adults. The camping was nice and the playgrounds near the beach were beautiful and new. It was not a great beach for swimming-the water was a little rough and its a shale beach so it was difficult for the younger kids (6 years and 3 years). When the water was calm it was fine. They had lots of activities available, e.g., eagle watching hike, dragon fly catching (and releasing), and a sand castle building contest and more that the kids really enjoyed.
This campground and park is by far the best bang for your buck! Everything is clean and tidy. The sites are huge and well kept. Very little mosquitos. Tons for kids to do.... Ride bikes, 3 playgrounds to pick from, the lake for swimming and kayaking, nature center on the weekends and more.
Its a large enough space that even when there are a lot of people there I have never had a problem finding a picnic table to use or open grill. The beach its self isnt amazing but it is a place to swim. There is a neat little nature center that is interesting for a quick look and it has activities for kids, has been closed not sure due to season or covid. The disk golf course baskets are still up bit its really muddy right now
This is the absolute best beach in Western New York, in my opinion. The sand bars extend out quite far, and the water is very shallow and warm. There are all of the amenities, needed for a great beach day. There are picnic tables, playgrounds, concessions, shelters, charcoal grills, bathrooms, showers, lockers, concessions, a beautiful and expansive park, an overlook on to the beach, and fully staffed life guards on duty during daylight hours.Summer just isnt summer without a visit to this favorite spot of mine.
Large park with many picnic sites and shelters. I visited on a late November day with sunny skys and 56 degrees. Looks like many of the charcoal grills are new and a mix of old and new picnic tables. Restrooms are well placed and readily accesible. Tons of parking at the beach with great views of Lake Erie. I have many summer visits to the park as well. Make sure you bring beach footware as the sand and shore are a bit too rocky for bare feet. You can see across to Canada on a clear day.
The beach and park are past their heydays. The swimming area is too small, the park area is not kept up to minimal standards. Some negatives are in comparison to how this park was thirty years ago, when the idea was to have fun with minimal interference. No balls, flotation devices, or toys allowed in the water. No grill serving hot food in the main building. No diving or other harmless fun is allowed. Too bad that some peoples ideas of progress is to limit the freedom of others.
The name Lake Beach describes the place perfectly! The word Beach can instantly make a person think about a sea or ocean. This place is basically just a lake but its so humongous that its not much off the mark to describe it as Beach. There are lot of nice spots to set up barbeque and enjoy a picnic. Its also nice to swim around, if it isnt too cold.
Beach. We like to think of it as an escape from the doldrom of our day to day routine. Dun police with megaphones somehow distract from that notion. They dont allow catch or floaties. Enough said😣 added photo is from beach access(ish) 100 yards north. LOTS of beach fun to be found there🙏🤠
Visited four first time and had a wonderful six day visit. The only gripe I have, is the restrooms repeatedly ran out of toilet paper. If you are going to visit, bring your own toilet paper. The large newer shower house is very nice, the older/smaller shower house closest to the last loop was in need of some screen repair, the bugs and spiders were not pleasant. We will be back!!!
Great place to camp. Beautiful area with amazing views. Trails and beach well maintained and nice to walk. Only wanna say, please if camping(especially tent area), at night or early morning be mindful there are other campers and have some common courtesy about noise...voices and music really projects far. Overall a great time camping though.
This park has everything for a fun family outing!! It is spacious. You can play volleyball, frisbee, soccer, and other outside activities. There are a couple of playgrounds too. The beach is beautiful and the sand is smooth. You will see children building sand castles. There are many shelters to reserve for picnics, birthdays and other occasions. There are grills already there for your convenience. I suggest to bring garbage bags with you. There are trash cans but they dont provide extra bags. Its a great state park. Ive seen beautiful sunsets here.
Went to Evangola for a hike/beach day on a nice afternoon! Lovely place with clean swimming areas and amazing water views from some campsites. Only complaint is that there is little to no hiking areas. The main trail is walking on the main paved road which can get very hot. Otherwise great place for camping, swimming, picnicking, and frisbee golfing!
Great place to get away for a day or two or even a week. There is a lot to do here for trail hikes to swimming and a 18 hole disk golf course. There is multiple tent camping to RV camping. Bathroom - Shower - Laundry cant be more than a year or two old, very nice and clean. Nice fire rings with built-in grill. Beach was a little rocky but tolerable. We will definitely be coming back again.
Havent stayed at many state parks before. Usually our size puts some restrictions on places we can get into. Very nice park. With the 2 night paid park registration we were able to park free at the 2 Niagra Falls State Park parking lots the next day. Saved us $20. NOTE: there is a 126 clearance on the railroad under pass on highway 5 just past highway 20. None of our GPS warned us of that. Thankfully we are apparently shorter than 126
My review is strictly for the beach. Park is nice and all, but the beach is horrible! Rocks, twigs, and debris litter the sand. The swimming itself is absolutely treacherous! Small slippery rocks, and large Slippery Rock, throughout the entire Beach. I highly recommended not going in there barefoot. The small rocks are brutal on the bottom of your feet, and when the waves come, brace yourself. I almost fell numerous times. I doubt Ill be going back there.
If youre looking for a family friendly, inexp day, this is the place. Entrance is $6 or $7 per car, there is plenty of parking, beach is handicap accessible and there are decently clean restrooms. The beach is long and wide but the roped off area for swimming in front of the lifeguard is small. You can also swim down the beach a bit, past a sign that essentially says swim at your own risk. This is where most people were swimming.Things to note: check the water reports before you make the drive! The beaches on Lake Erie are frequently closed due to bacteria, so be sure to check the beaches website. There are picnic areas with picnic tables in the park. There is a grassy area with a playground and tons of trees for shade. Im not sure if it is first come first serve or if you have to reserve them, but they are above the beach. I say above because this area of Lake Erie has a lot of cliffs. Easy access to the beach and bathrooms from picnic area.I love a good beach day but this place wasnt exactly relaxing. There were wasps everywhere, kids everywhere (yes I know this is normal, but worth mentioning) and apparently everyone brings Bluetooth speakers and thinks we all want to hear their music. I would recommend visiting during the week as the weekend gets a bit crowded.
I love Evangelist State Park this is the best beach in the area you can bring your dogs you can bring your families you can pick Nick all you want theres plenty of space to run around to swim on the beach to walk the beach to walk the park its beautiful and peaceful and one of the best places to catch a sunset for sure.
What a lovely and well take n care of park! We had a great time throughout our visit, starting from greeting by welcoming and helpful teenagers manning the entrance to having a picnic by the shore, enjoying the clear waters of the lake and clean and comfortable facilities. This park showed all the signs of being thoughtfully designed and carefully maintained.
Campground review:We needed a place to spend the night en route to the Adirondacks. We were forced to buy 2 nights (NY crazy COVID rules), but used only one. This is wasteful on many levels. To add to the aggravation, we found the campground to be quite poor. It features an Ugly tent camping area - just an open field with a parking lot nearby. No drive-in sites. No privacy. Therefore, if you’re van camping, you’re sleeping in the parking lot. Also, the bathrooms were sub-par, even for a campground! And it wasn’t exactly cheap!
Paid $7 to get in, pulled up to a picnic bench near the lake, the ranger came n said no parking on grass. There is no place in this park for disabled people to easily access anything! Handicap parking is not near any picnic benches. I was very disappointed and ended up leaving the park without enjoying it. Will not be returning to this state park. Not handicap friendly!
When I arrived to set up at my RESERVED pavilion to set up and decorate for my sons graduation party a random group of 15+ people were having a cookout at my pavilion. I notified the park ranger on duty and our group had to wait 40 minutes while the park ranger talked the group into leaving the pavilion that I PAID FOR. This park ranger was incompetent in helping the situation and she stated well the people cooking at ur site had the banquet room but they thought this was their site so if u want u can pay the difference that they paid for the banquet room and use their site, youll just have to pay the difference (of almost a $200 difference). No thank u. We explained that we booked this pavilion 3 months ago, we had a party starting in less than a hour at this pavilion and do not wish to be moved AND charged extra for it. The ranger had no understanding for the fact that we needed to get into our paid and reserved pavilion to prepare for our graduation party. We waited over 40 minutes while the park ranger apologized pleaded to the people who stole our reserved pavilion to move. When dealing with us she was very passive and condescending saying well their gonna move soon, but there cooking right now we again stated that we need to get into our reserved pavilion to prepare for a graduation party starting in less than a hour. And her response continued to be dismissing saying well what do you want me to do?....All while we sat under a random tree in the park WATCHING random people in our reserved pavilion drinking, grilling, and listening to music. Finally we threatened to just call the police and let them handle this because the ranger clearly couldnt. The ranger said I already called in a angry voice, and then again apologized to the other group who stole our pavilion. The ranger then walked away from the whole situation to wait for the police near the road (as she said) which was very unprofessional of her to leave a hostle situation. I am very upset with how this was handled
Loved this place since I was a child. It is clean, very, very big, with tons of picnic tables and lots of areas to pick from for table spots. Restrooms are clean lots of walkways throughout the whole beach that make it easy to get around. Grills are not top notch but are usable. Really just a wonderful beach!
A gorgeous, well kept park great for any occasion, whether it be to go for a walk or host a picnic with friends and family. The beach view is just beautiful here and although we only went to picnic, there are tons of other activities and amenities that they offer. One of the biggest pros here, however, is the fact that their picnic shelters have bathrooms attached to them. While the bathrooms could be cleaner in my opinion, its still nice to not have to go for a walk to get to a restroom.
This place brings back so many childhood memories it is unreal. The park is clean, wellmaintained and staffed by very friendly people. The beach is very nice and sandy. Unlike most of the Lake Erie beachfront, the rocks and shells are cleared away leaving an almost perfect sand beach. There are also two playgrounds that my son enjoyed immensely!
Great state park for nature lovers. Lots of open fields n woods. Beach and park areas are clean n quiet. Lifeguards in season, July n August, until 7pm. Otherwise, swim at your own risk. Lots of play area for the kids, but could use more playground equipment. It can get crowded. Lots of outdoors picnic tables, but could use more in season. Bring an old blanket to sit on, just in case. On busy days, its best to bring your own grill, cuz the few provided ones will be claimed. Just bring sandwiches n such that dont need cooking. Restrooms are clean but need an updating/remodeling. When we went, there were no showers for washing off after swimming. Park often has a variety of free family-friendly live entertainment in season...wish I could find an online schedule of events with dates n times. Again, bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Overall, its a great bargain for the price!
Love this park, wish they had more wilderness walking trails, if you are looking for a nice beach that has a lifeguard sometimes, good shelters and playgrounds this is your place. They charge to enter Memorial day to Labor Day, they have some great outdoor events and they even have a campground.
Needed to stretch our legs after a long drive so I found this state park and we pulled off the highway. Nice large park with camping facilities. The only problem I had was that none of the bathrooms were open. I suspect they dont open the facilities until memorial day which is a shame because I would have liked to have spent a bit longer there. Beautiful view of lake Erie.
We were impressed with this park our first time there. I love the showers. Although not updated they were clean and easy to use. I liked having 2 curtains for privacy and not get water all over. The park is clean, the campsites are big and you can see the lake from the cliff. The only I would suggested is to cut some of the limbs off the bottom of the trees overlooking the lake. This way theres a better view.
Everything was awesome! We enjoyed our stay, bathrooms were always clean. Yurt was super fun, nice deck, fire pit, a grill, refrigerator, microwave. The only reason I gave 4 stars were there for no spickets anywhere to fill water jugs & when your staying several nights are the beds, we ended up running out and bought bed cushions. It’s definitely going to be a family trip every summer, just need to bring some cushions for the bed! We loved it!
Very nice 4th of July. Though no one was wearing masks, people were for the most part social distancing. Rented shelter 1A for very small but close family party. Lunch & dinner. Bathrooms attached, public but fairly clean, though I was only one in the ladies room wearing a mask.. Rangers were super nice. Didnt run into a bunch of drunk people like Evans Town Park where we usually rent yearly. Nice, diverse crowd of people & everyone got along & very polite. The beach access was super close, a bit rocky until you get close to the water. Best part was nice breeze even though it was super hot 🔥 that day. Thinking this will be our new spot, especially if/when we can resume our larger family party. Plenty of room, open air, bug well covered, electric, fridge, water spigget. Overall great rental (lucky to get it last minute d/t a cancelation)!
This park is very nice, especially for a Lake Erie beach. It is spacious and has some nice grassy areas as well as an ample beach. The cliffs give it character. Its definitely worth the extra driving distance from Buffalo compared to other beaches closer to the city.
Went today for the first time. Partly cloudy, not so hot and its a weekday so it wasnt crowded. We stayed inside the marked area where the kids could go out pretty far and still be in waist deep. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Lifeguards on duty. First aid station. $6 to park. Lots of rocks in the sand and water. It was a very nice beach. I plan to go back a few more times. We only went to the beach so we didnt look for or see what the rest of the park had to offer.
We went to the beach today, and a good time was had by all. The beach looked different than the website photo. There were some rusty pipes there, free for the taking! I couldnt detect any foul odors. My 18 month granddaughter couldnt wait to get in the water. Then she tasted the sand and went streaking. Dead fish bobbed gaily by regularly, but were small in number compared to the amount that the lake must hold. Perspective!
Very clean state park with beach access, The park cost to access is $7.00 for the whole day , Plenty of free parking with multiple lots , Quite of few picnic areas and even has camping available for extra fee.. One and only downfall is that park need more park rangers for extra security. Our last visit there was some unruly guests and it took almost 30 minutes for rangers to get on scene to escort them out of park.
Great for summer get together. Only problem I had was on the forth of July when people took tables from my pavaluon before I got there. Of course this is no fault of the park. My kids loved the beach and it was great for birthday parties and the forth of July celebration.
The park itself is pretty much like any other lakeside state park. The campsite is nice with decent room between sites. The tent only region is right by the lake shore, on a cliff.the edge is fenced with chicken wire, so it is safe for kids. A few words of caution regarding camping: you need to park in the parking lot, and not by your tent, so plan accordingly. The rest room is a little distance away and the grills are basically an iron grid on the side of the fire ring. When we arrived, it was raining (in the evening) and we could not buy firewood, so that is something to remember as well. Finally, this place is not that far away from Niagara falls, so should one so desire, the campsite is a good night halt.
Very nice park but watch out cause sometimes during the evening Brant Police and Park Police will sit at the exit of the park and do a check point for vehicle violations (seat belts, inspections and anything related to your vehicle). They try hard to ruin a otherwise nice family day at the park.
Wow, double wow! One of the nicest parks in Western New York. Loaded with potential things to do. Camping, games, exercises, sight seeing, grilling, people watching. Incredible scenery. Lots of wildlife. Nice quality bathrooms. Tons of parking. If your a higher, this park is paradise. Any season Evangola is a great time!
Theres so many better campgrounds. We stayed three nights and were not impressed. The campsites are TIGHT. Absolutely no privacy- luckily we got along well with all our neighbors and didnt have any issues with noise. The lots are so skinny though that our neighbors dog was on a lead but would still be over in our area (he was a well behaved dog so we didnt mind, but if hed been Cujo or something it would not have been good with our kids). The beach wasnt that nice. We didnt notice any hiking trails, although there has to be some that we missed.
Lots of grass. To park in the tent area parking lot for no hookups with my truck camper cost me $26. The chain link fence in front of the lake was disappointing. Its likely placed there to prevent further erosion but really obstructed the view and the feel of it. I think New York should consider another alternative to this. The bathroom was clean and large but very far away from the tent area which doesnt make sense to me because the people in tents particularly need access to the bathroom.
Evangola state park is serene and beautiful. A peaceful, beautiful park with plenty of space, picnic tables, soft grass, facilities, great for boating, bicycling, fishing or just plain get out of the city park. Its quiet and clean and a beautiful lake Erie beach front is yours to enjoy. I love this little bit of heaven on lake Erie. Nice park for sure.
Beautiful campground with a fair number of both non electric tent and electric trailer sites alike. Almost every site has some view of lake erie, but either way, you are always wiyh8n walking distance of the lake and beach. Great place for riding bicycles and hiking, and bathrooms were all clean and up to date.
No pull through sites but ours was level, but a bit narrow for our 5th wheel. Also no water at the sites but the dump station was close. Nice area to ride bikes around with the family and the beach is a good long walk or short car ride away. For those that care there is little to no cell phone signal on att. Not sure about the other networks. Recommended for a cheap no frills camping experience!
I have been coming her since I was a little girl. I go with my bf at least 2 times a year. If you pick the right campsite and do research you will find one you love. The bathrooms are not far away its camping there will not be one right at your site. They actually just put new ones in. Its a state park and I like that they are coming through to keep in eye on the campsite. Gives you a piece of mind. Its not a party spot. Its more quite and family oriented. When people have gotten out of control they were asked to leave (I mean swearing LOUD on a Friday night at 1am and arguing the cops where there to take care of the situation). Great spot!
The newbie clerk overcharged me and didnt know how to refund it. Said I had to wait till morning when boss came in to work. Then I realized I was not allowed to park my car beside my tent, I left. Never to be reimbursed for the steep fee. Its partly my fault for not asking in advance if I could park beside the tent. But the difficulty in being reimbursed is unacceptable.
If you want to get together with family and friends and have fun and enjoy yourself this is the place to go the beach is very clean as far as when you walk into the water there is like slate rock no sharp rocks just a few feet than after that its nice hard sand and they extended the stop point farther out like Im 58 and I cant touch bottom lol plus its like a mile at least wide and there is a park there for the little ones to play slide swing and have fun with other kids and there are grills there for you to cook just bring charcoal and foil and the bathrooms there might not be as clean but there there to use and to change out of your swim suit I highly recommend it but one small thing they close at eight and a seven dollar parking fee but youll enjoy and lots of trees for shade lol
Presently tent camping here. This was night five. The campsites are grassy and well-maintained. The restrooms are exceptionally clean, including the showers. Not a bug or speck of mildew in sight. Hot water in the showers after less than half a minute. Handicap accessible shower with wand and seatingCheck-in staff leave in the evening, and according to the sign in the window, the expectation is that you find an open site and pay for it in the morning. For tent campers, you may find (as I did) that you have to move your tent if you plan to stay another night, since the spot you selected could be reserved. So make reservations or be prepared for that possibility. The place is far more populated on the weekends. Monday and Tuesday this week, I saw only 5 or 6 other sites in use. When reserving my site through the weekend, saw on the reservation map that nearly all the sites were booked. After NY schools let out for the summer, I imagine the weeks will be busy also, so plan accordingly. They have laundry facilities on site which are coin-operated (two washers, two driers). I did not see a change machine. $2.00 for Supersize wash load. $1.50 for 60 minute drier. Of course with the near constant wind off the lake, line dry is a good option. There is probably another laundry facility in the other building. As the week has progressed, Ive seen an increase in trooper patrols, which I appreciate. The place seems family friendly. There is a new-looking playground centrally located. While there is a chain-link fence along the shoreline cliff, be advised that the fence has many openings other campers have made, offering a dangerous temptation for younger kids. The cliff is sheer in places and drops about 15 ft. to rocks and pounding surf. The sun sets on the water. Gorgeous. Thunderstorms are quite .............. memorable, if/when they roll through. For amateur astronomers, while not exactly dark sky, its darker than I expected. Buffalo glows in the northeastern sky, but not too badly. Lots of open space. Milky Way visible. Great place to set up a Dobsonian telescope some weekend and treat the public to views of the planets. While the buildings are well-lit, there is no extraneous lighting in the camping areas, aside from campfires, of course. The wooded areas are fairly clear of underbrush, quite mossy. I saw lots of sticks and twigs to use as campfire kindling. One caution: I did see a lot of what looks like poison ivy in the woods, which might explain the abundance of sticks. The drainage ditch/stream running along the edge of the tent-camping loop was chock-full of tadpoles (this is early half of June). I saw a woodchuck in the woods in daylight and a doe near one of the trails. After dark, I saw (likely) an opossum. Its a nice place to camp, and I plan to return when in NY again.
I stayed at the campsite the weekend of August 5, 2016 of this year. I wanted to write this review earlier but lost my mom. I am a woman and traveled to New York to attend my NFL cheerleading reunion . I was a little skeptical to stay at a state park alone. However I felt so safe and secure being alone in the park. The park was absolutely beautiful. All of the roads were newly paved and the showers were remodeled and very nice. I didnt get a chance to do much in the park but did have the opportunity to run an 8 mile loop one of the days I was there. I ran from the campsite to the area where the beach was located in a totally different part of the park. The pavilions, parking area and park amenities were really nice. It is a great place for runners to get in a great run and if you run like me early in the morning. Look for the white tail deer that will greet you on the asphalt lane heading from the campgrounds to the beach. The park was crowded but the families were very civilized. I hate I didnt have much time to enjoy the park because my schedule for the reunion was so booked. I have stayed in many hotels and our event was held at the Adams Mark downtown Buffalo. Although the park was a good 40 minute drive from buffalo it was so nice to stay in my camper. I returned late each night from the reunion to the campgrounds and found it safe. Again, I am a woman who camped alone in the park with my travel trailer and have not been talking enough about how much I ve enjoyed my 3 night stay at Evan Gola State Park. If you want peace and tranquility, natural wild life yet close enough to enjoy the amenities of a big city but located far enough to embrace a country setting. DO NOT HESITATE>>>>STAY AT EVAN GOLA STATE PARK. Avid runners will love the newly paved road and distance from the campgrounds to the beach and public park within the park.
Tent camped here with my family (3 generations) and really enjoyed it. The Ranger and Officer Rick were very nice and friendly and were on top of things, particularly the out of control partiers partying in the middle of the night. Their presence was professional and ensured that the rest of the campers with children continued to have a good time. Officer Rick was very nice - all the kids adored him! We are hoping to make this one of our regular parks in the future. The only complaint about the park was the fact that site 62 is not on he map, so when we booked site 61, we were surprised to have a smaller site and neighbours. Perhaps combining sites 61 and 62 would make it a nice sized locale, just like site 58. Other than that the park was great and very clean.
My family and I come to Evangola every year for our family picnic, but this year they had a car show. I dont mind they have a show but do they have the right to take over the whole parking lot including the handicapped spots. I thought it was a public park where parking is first come first serve. I dont believe they can take over the whole lot , plus I have to pay to enter the park, Im sure the show didnt pay for the whole lot.
On the beach in Angola! Most of the year it’s free to go down to the beach. They have picnic shelters and camping spot too! Lots of hiking, birdwatching, frisbee golf course through the woods! Lots of deer and wildlife everywhere. Year round cabin rentals. I think there only a couple here. We spend a lot of time just roaming around with wilderness.
Words cannot describe how disgusting this beach was. It looked nothing like the pictures. There were rusty pipes on the beach, it smelled like something died, and I didnt even want my daughter going into the water because there were dead fish washing by every 10 minutes. Disgusting place.
Awesome Place to camp at!! My Jigh School Youth Group from Westgate Chapel in the Toledo, Ohio Area camped here from June 10th-12th, 2k19 just the Graduating Seniors including me. On June 11th we eent to Niagara Falls and rode the Maid Of The Mist and we only stayed on the U.S. Side!!Awesome Time & Memories!!
Going back for another week of tent camping this summer.Quite, relaxing, clean and fun.The beach is a 5 minute walk and is very scenic.Sunsets are something you remember. Also love the cliffs which are fenced off if you have young kids.Great place for kids and adults alike.
It was amazing riding the waves on my raft. And having my feet in the sand...and the new playground was so fun the only thing it is missing is a zipline thing toy...at the playground then it would of been so so so much more fun...!!Also there was great great lighting ,you could see it in the pic I sent.......After all I loved it.......💗💖💝💝💘💝...
If your car breaks down and is even 10 feet into the entrance to the park the police will scam you have in such a way as to impound your car. There is only 1 person licensed to tow off the park property. The cop that stopped by my friends car did not even try to help us but when another tow came they were going to try pound his carShitty trap to set for tourists

2022-05-25We stayed at the campground last weekend. First weekend open, so they were not super ready, but it was a good time. The beach needed to be cleaned of all the drift wood, but again, first week open, and winter is pretty rough on beaches on the great lakes. Overall I give it a 5, because even though it was not ready 100%, the fun factor was there.

2021-09-16This state park reminds me of a forgotten gem from a bygone era. Many years ago the beaches were packed with city dwellers every summer weekend. Although the park attendance is way down from those days, it’s still a beautiful place to spend the day on the water. Have a picnic on the ample grassy areas with many picnic tables available. Restrooms, shelters, playgrounds and other amenities are available. Plenty of room to spread out and have your own quiet corner of the park for the day. The views of the lake can be quite scenic and the beach stretches a mile or two. Dogs are tolerated in the water as long as they behave and are far outside the designated human swimming area. Plenty of nature trails and other cool areas to explore like the cliffs along the beach.

2022-05-12Went on a state parks nature walk focused on the early spring flowers that will be over soon. Also saw an assortment of birds. Generally a very nice park. Seems to also have reasonable facilities-picnic tables, etc., although I didnt use them.

2021-06-11Great place to go camping. Great grass area for tents, and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Youre literally a 2 minute walk from the beach, and theres a fishing pond, frisbee golf, and a playground on site. Highly recommend!

2021-08-01We spent 1 night here in our RV on our way back from Maine. Very nice campground, will definitely go back! Would like to explore more and swim. Sites were level and clean.

2021-06-28Nice park, clean, ample parking. Working toilets but definitely did not like the fact the changing rooms were closed. People coming into the bathroom to change made it very crowded and extremely wet. Definitely NOT in compliance with 6 foot rule.

2022-05-25Probably the most peaceful place Ive been in a while, no road noise, no boat noise, very few people. What must have been once a grand park, now relegated to what I see as a park that time forgot. Roughly maintained for the few visitors and dog walkers that come to use the facilities, the overgrown parking areas and picnic areas, reflect a park that is being held by a minimum of funds/budget commitment. Still a diamond in the rough, but still a gem of its own. 👍

2021-05-07We love this park and its close to home. Been coming here since I was a kid! There are lots of places to picnic and grill, playgrounds for kids and plenty of parking. The entrance fee is only $7 and signs pointing where to go. Maybe well see you on the walking trails!

2022-06-04CLEAN, the lake is a HUGE hit with a beautiful sunset. The ample amount of space between each pavilion is also a great amenity. Will absolutely be returning for beach days all summer!
