Albany Red Cross, Everett Road, was one if the best donation experience Ive ever had. The complete process, staff, obvious attention to detail was very pleasant.
Great personable staff. Very clean. Have been coming here to make platelet donations for years. They also do whole blood donations and offer a variety of classes.
God bless them for what they do.I passed out once, though. I feel like I probably needed the Fig Newtons BEFORE I gave blood, not after.

Since this is a permanent Red Cross office, instead of a mobile blood donation setup, everything was slightly more substantial and comfortable.

Large facility near Albany NY. This facility takes platelets, plasma, power red and whole blood. Quite efficient and friendly.

2022-03-22I have given at this location several times and they are very friendly. My problem is with the app always showing that this location had no appt available. They have assured me every time I go that they did have appts available when the App said they didnt. I called the 800 number and they dont seem too concerned about it.....they are loosing donors to this location Im sure. 😢

2021-04-19I donate approximately twice a month. I recognize the importance of donating Platelets but the Staff is the reason why I look forward to each donation.They are always on time, professional yet accommodating and entertaining.Everett road, Albany Redcross is second to none.

2019-12-14Personable staff. Waited a bit even though I was a Sunday morning donation appointment when it’s generally quiet. Regardless always a much better experience than blood drives and worth the drive to Albany.

2018-06-14I love the red cross and their workers. They always make me feel at ease. I always have a great experience while donating. I only wish I could donate more often. Everybody who can should donate at least once. Blood and blood products are always needed.

2016-12-22The Staff are great and the environment is very welcoming. I dont like needles but my visit was comfortable. First time enrolling and the process was fast if you meet everything thats ask. Looking forward to my next visit.

2017-02-26Edited because it contrasts so much with other reviews. Maybe they were having a bad day. But they accused me of making a same-day appointment which is somehow offensive to them... And by the way I made the appointment days in advance. They didnt use my rapid pass and I had to re-fill out all the information. I didnt even get started in the chair until an hour after my appointment. Then they blew my vein on the right hand side and couldnt go any further. The nurse took my movie away and insisted I watch her favorite movie without asking me. They just werent very good. Bad day I suppose. If you want to help and contribute to the world, go somewhere else. Period.

2018-01-23The aids are extremely friendly and courteous. I never have a bad experience whenever I donate. If you are a new dohner, I would highly suggest using this site as your first donation experience.

2017-01-02This is a great blood donation center! They specialize in platelets and plasma, but also accept whole blood donations. For platelets and plasma, they have tvs set up and dvds you can watch, while youre waiting for your donation to finish. Helpful, friendly staff, and a large, clean environment in a central location. Definitely recommended!

2014-06-17I am fairly overweight, and its just difficult to find my veins. Ive been to other locations and the phlebotomists have always had a hard time getting to my blood. And for those that have had similar difficulty, you know that it can hurt, and be generally unpleasant. But, Paula at this Everett Road location, is now the only person I go to. She finds it just fine, and is just a personable and professional person besides. Thank you Paula, for making my unpleasant experience so much easier. Glad to help save lives!
