Update: July 2020. I recently had another bike built by Exalt. Its a restored Trek that was stripped down, repainted in John Deer Green, new front shocks, new disk brakes, new shimano cassette and derailers, every component new and added a 1,000 watt motor. The thing flies and looks beautiful. Check the pics (pics are before motor was added).October 2018: Jason just built a fully motorized pedi-cab for a friend I referred to him. Pretty big job, this being a high end model like the ones you can hop on in the city and get driven acrosa Manhattan in traffic. He did the work quickly and professionally. I had a chance to get a ride on it with my kid and it was fun and safe. Very cool 😎.Original post: This is an electric bicycle business that sells complete ebikes, and also converts pedal bikes to ebikes. They also do all bicycle repairs and full builds. There is also an Exalt active sportswear apparel line that they sell.Jason is the owner operator, and I have used him and his team to convert my mountain bike to a pedal assisted ebike. I love the bike and the extra power the motor gives me. I take it to the trails and it just tears through the uphills and grings through the sandy and soft ground. On roads, it makes for a great commuter vehicle. It feels safe with good disc brakes and full shock suspension.
In tough and uncertain times jay (jason) does his best and goes beyond that to assure you and help you out. I payed for 2 bikes and he was prompt with the build . Unfortunately do to ship containers still not able to make shipment things like batterys are a wait but the build is top notch .. Jay even lend me his own battery he had so I can enjoy while I wait ..great guy iam sure when shipping gets addressed business will boom further!
I recently purchased a custom e bike from Exalt Electric Cycling. I decided to have a custom bike built because I wanted to have something different, unique and built to my specifics.I couldn’t have been happier partnering with Jason from Exalt. He is extremely knowledgeable and helps you build the bike you want. He makes suggestions but never oversells an idea.The bike that he made rides great and looks amazing. 4/5/22 I have been reimbursed IN FULL by Jason. I Filed a claim with Department of Consumer Affairs in Nassau County. He was found to be in violation.11/9/21 Received text from Jason today...in his rambling chatter, he saidhe still has the battery and he is trying to sell it and only offering me a 60% refund if he can sell the battery. he is definitely a terrible business person and has no clue how retail laws work. He also admits he wasnt skilled in the repair of my bike and said that he should have never offered to work on it from the beginning. That makes 2 of us, Jason.11/2/21 Update - emailed Jason on 10/19/21. The battery he allegedly special ordered was delivered, but it was the wrong color. Once again I reiterated that I wanted a full refund. emailed him again on 10/29/21 and he has not responded.I needed electric repair done to my ebike, and this was the closest shop I could find that worked exclusively on ebikes.Called number and message said phones having trouble please text...which I did. Agreed to drop bike off at shop.Shop has no permanent signage just a storefront with banner. Very cluttered inside. Met with Jason. He told me there was a fee to be paid in advance to troubleshoot, which he only accepted electronically or cash..no credit card. I sent fee and received receipt.A week later Jason calls and says battery is defective. Give different options. He tells me about several other options that would alter appearance of bike. I tell him I want it to look factory installed, not after market. He tells me he needs to order battery, and I need to send payment in advance...which I again send and get receipt.3 weeks go by. I text for status, no battery yet. I ask Jason to cancel order and issue refund. He says can only issue refund once battery is received and returned. He did not and has not provided me with an estimated delivery date.A week later I text again still no battery. Only the usual it will be here in a few days I tell him I will come pick up bike.Go to pick up bike, shop is locked. Someone inside wont answer. Jason texts that he is not available. I text him for refund and he says battery was special order and cant be refunded. Claims he is having reception issue with his phone. So why post Saturday hours and not be available to customers on that day...Pick up bike the next day, scratches on frame. He offers to fix it but at this point I have no faith in him or leaving my bike at his shop any longer to risk further damage.I once again demand refund for battery that was never received. I request purchase order number and info on where he ordered from, he refuses to give information...not even the brand of battery. If a bike is too much of a challenge for him and he doesnt like the brand or recommend it, he should respectfully decline working on it. Instead he resorts to trying to insult me by saying I neglected the battery.... ( I was also able to obtain a replacement battery on my own that was shipped and received within days.)He gives excuses of shipping delays when same battery is common and can be ordered and received in a few days. He could not provide the needed parts and has made no attempt to prove he even ordered the battery. He also will claim customers neglect bikes and blame problems on them.I will have to go to court to get my refund. My mistake for paying for a part in full for which he never mentioned there was a no refund policy. He has made several statements that he is trying to resolve the situation but as of now there is no proof.
After checking out countless electric bike shops for specific equipment, coming to exalt electric was a better experience, we conversed on the specific build I had in mind and within no time I got what I needed. Looking forward to upgrade my next build with exalt
I placed a favorable review for Jason when I first brought a bike from him. I went back to him to tune another bike for me and while both bikes took long to finish I was satisfied. Unfortunately my third time working with him has been a disaster. Buyer Beware! He will take your money not return any calls and when he texts you back he will make make promises and not keep them. I have contacted my friend at Newsday who I will meet with this week to do a story on this fraudster. If he answered his phone and did what he said he would do I would not place this review.

Owner is super knowledgeable. However he should hire someone to clean and organize his shop. I could not figure out what was for sale and what was being worked on . Also it would help to put a sign outside

I came to Jason looking for a mountain bike he usually sells way more expensive exquisite upgraded bikes but Jason worked with me i got to his location we ended up talking for 30-40 minutes plus just about bikes it’s so refreshing seeing someone care about what they do so many people go through the motions and forget why they chose to do something but Jason hooked me up with a slim all black mountain bike I’ve road that thing for 6+ miles everyday since I got it , it just feels like such a vibe to ride a bike that skinny it feels like “your walking on sunshine whoaaaaaaa”
Stay far away from any dealings with Jason. He will promise you the world and never deliver. Have been dealing with him for 3 years now on 1 bike conversion. States he ordered a new motor almost a year ago, but due to Covid it still has not been received. He has had my bike the whole time and last time I spoke to him tells me it also needs a battery because it has not been attended to. I have been more then patient with him, and he has delivered on anything except excuses. Take this review as you will.**** Update From 5/18/2021 ******Well here we are still trying to get this deal done. Just so there is no confusion I will post pictures and let them tell you how dealing with Jason has been for me.........

Jason Helped me with my cable issue on my electric bike. He came through especially on a late Saturday afternoon. Most shops would be closed at that time. He fixed it and I was back on the road again in a matter of minutes. I would recommend his services for anyone needing bike repairs either electric or traditional bike issues. I would definitely use Exalt Cycling for services needed on my bike.
After personal research, I decided to invest in Exalt electric cycling and it was an extremely wise decision on my behalf. After speaking to the owner, everything he claimed about his bikes are 100% accurate and Exalt is the truth with durable and rain proof bikes. I am leaving this comment after using my bike after 1 year and hundreds of miles of hard riding through Nyc terrain and all weather conditions. Highly recommend with little room of improvement. Exalt strives for excellence and they have a great owner.
I had a problem with my home built e bike I Couldn’t figure it out. I contacted Jason at Exalt. E -bike A true professional. He went through my system spotted the problem quickly, fixed it and I was on my way. I had a very good experience not only is Jason a wealth of knowledge he’s willing to pass it on. he filled me in on a lot of e-bike Tech that I didn’t even know existed! 2022-06-28After having now put some miles on my bike converted by Jason, I’m happy to add my comments to the overwhelmingly positive reviews I see here. As a veteran myself, I especially enjoyed reading about how he helped Rachel. Jason is an Ace bike mechanic and a super nice guy. He patiently spent a good deal of time answering my questions up front and also guiding me on why I ultimately chose a mid-drive system. Jason breathed new life into an old Raleigh hybrid that had been rolling a lot less these past few years. I knew an ebike would enable me to enjoy riding again. At 79 years old, how much other fun could I have:) If anyone reading this is considering an ebike conversion, I’d highly recommend speaking with Jason at Exalt.

2021-04-16After contacting several bike shops and eCycle shops I was told what I was looking for couldn’t be done. I’m a disabled veteran and I ride a hand cycle however I struggle with any type of incline hills or distance. I got the idea from several companies around the world that I could put a motor onto my hand cycle but not a hub motor a mid drive motor .... I contacted Jason on the phone and within a few days had my bike over to him to start the journey. In under two weeks he fully customized my Invacare force 2 hand cycle and added onto it a bafang mid drive motor and a battery 🔋 as well as having to mount several new devices like computer throttle and light controls on my bike ! Jason even went above and beyond by helping me with my shifting problem by ordering me a new shifting duster ( to be installed soon) and I’ve already ridden over 20 miles on my new and improved handcycle.... he took my limited mobility and limited handcycle skills and made me my very own rideable enjoyable custom e hand cycle and I couldn’t recommend him more ! Jason has the personal touch. He isn’t afraid to share his stories or experiences to relate to the customer and make working together easy with no bike experience ( I knew zero about my bike really before this ). I look forward to linking other disabled or adaptive riders to make the leap to add a motor and let something hard and yearning to become freeing and fun again like he did for me !

2022-04-09Took my Aventon Sinch in for a tuneup and met with Jason who explained everything that he was going to do. He said he would have my bike riding like new. Jason kept his word. Bike rides like new. Thanks Jason for everything.

2022-04-08I bring my ebike to Jason & he put it together in one day. My ebike didnt come with a charger so he let me borrow one until the manufacturer/company send me one. Jason is a real good guy & knows a lot about ebikes. Definitely recommend going to him if you have an ebike.

2022-04-20I gave Jason my sons bike on 12/09/20 and paid in full for a 1000watt conversion kit. Jason has only given me excuse after excuse why the bike work isn’t being done. I am still waiting for the work to be done and it’s going on two years. I am very disappointed on how Jason has treated me and the lack of communication. Please refer to the BBB before using this company. Read the reviews!!!

2022-02-13I was looking to convert one of my mountain bikes to an electric bike and a friend of mine referred to Jason. I brought my GT mountain bike in and he converted it to an Ebike for me. Jason exceeded my expectations and was a pleasure to work with. He knows everything there is to know about Ebike’s and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an Ebike dealer and or mechanic.
