Great selection. So many different things to choose from and the place is quite large inside. Wine, Liquors, and I even found cider there. I got these 1911 rose ciders and they were so delicious. They have a point reward system also so ask to sign up for that if you go.
This place has everything you need! I am from PA and this place was recommended to me by locals while I stayed in Albany. So many items we cant get back home and the prices were excellent. Items are well sorted and the space is organized well. Definitely worth a trip!
Love this location! Great people work here, the selection and organization is fantastic, and its clean! There was a self-playing piano on Friday night which was a nice touch. Easy in and easy out, and I noticed there was also curbside pickup! As if this all wasnt enough, the wine prices are about $3-5 less than in most stores. Highly recommend!
Normally I love route 9 wine & liquor. But not anymore. They refused to sell me two bottles of champagne (I’m a 25 year old attorney) because I walked in with my younger sister. That’s not even a law in NY. Here’s the language of the law: Minors visiting a liquor store must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Pretty sure 25 is an adult….also she’s not a minor. Will not be returning.
I love wine! Exit 9 Wine and Liquor has some of the best selections of wine - especially from too numerous to mention New York Wineries!! Great knowledgeable staff. Im always finding new flavorful wines and other unique liquors to try! If you havent sampled it yet...youve just gotta try the Strawberry flavored Baileys!! Yum
This is a great place. I love that they have their inventory online so I can see if they have a particular bottle or brand. I also enjoy the NY specific section in the front of the store. They often have tastings and classes, which are really nice now that they have the classroom in the back. (Its been there for a while now, Ive been going here for about ten years.)
I really don’t understand the hype around this place. Yes, it is really large and given its physical size the store has quite an expansive selection. Where they lack is service. With so many options it was unfortunate that I couldn’t find someone on the floor to guide me to trying something new based on showing them what I like. The lady at the register was fine, not rude but not super welcoming, and way more focused on telling me about the rewards card and expecting that to sell the entire store experience. If you want a quick in and out grab what you know experience it will work. If you’re looking for a staff interested in helping you find a new wine to add to your list of favorites, and make your trip complete I wouldn’t suggest this. Prices here are also a little higher than some other nearby stores, but I’m sure if you’re a frequent shopper the rewards program may help you break even.
Spacious aisles and squeaky clean (important stuff these days). Excellent customer service. They have my favorite rare ta-kill-ya in abundance at a great price, but most items on my regular shopping list are substantially more expensive here than at Empire and All-Star. But its Clifton Park, of course.
Best selection you will find in the capital region. Holy cow, I cannot stress how big this store is!! Great for the specialty whiskey my husband loves. And a great selection of international wines! They have a pretty cool rewards card, where you get points toward cash back, and also adds additional discounts to your purchase.
Most recent experience was not a wonderful one, in that I went in searching for something specific, walked by about 6 employees who were all deep in conversation with each other and couldnt be bothered to turn around and speak to me or see if I needed help (I was walking around confused). After about 20 minutes and seeing pricing higher than other places Ive been, I decided it is no longer worth my time to try this location anymore. They may have a huge selection, but sometimes smaller is better.
Very broad selection and very helpful staff. The hardest part may just be getting started as the selection is large enough to be a bit intimidating. Generally though they can help you find most things. The prices tend to be very reasonable too which is always nice. All things considered they are the first place in the area I check when trying to find most spirits.
With the largest selection in the area, Exit 9 is always my preferred store to go to for wine and liquor, and their competitive prices make sure Im not over paying for convenience. My review, however, is prompted by my experience with their customer service.During this COVID-19 pandemic, I selected my order online and used their curbside pickup option. It was quick and easy. We pulled up to the side and someone came out and put our box in the trunk. We went on our way, and later that night when we got home we realized we were missing two bottles from our order. When I called, I spoke to two different people and explained what happened. We made arrangements to pick up the rest of our order the next day. When we arrived, the manager came out to apologize to us himself and included a free bottle of wine in our bag for the inconvenience. Not only was this a kind gesture to begin with, the care he took even selecting the wine blew me away. It was the same brand as the four other bottles in our order, but because they were all different, he made sure this one was as well.I am so incredibly impressed with the care they took to make sure they had the best customer service, even in this pandemic.
You want it, theyve got it! Well organized, decent pricing, convenient wide aisles with a lot of inventory. Clearly, they can handle a lot of volume in sales wirh lots of checkouts. They do tastings and hold classes on how to select various wines, etc. Their range of wined and liquors go from the best price point to tip top shelf. The staff on the sales floor are knowledgeable and helpful. Really a nice store with terrific service!
Large, large, LARGE selection. If you cant find it here - they pretty much dont make it. The store is bright and clean. Prices are very good, cheaper than most mom & pop places. They always have a large selection of neat gift boxes. I like that they have a rewards program as well.
Great selection and the prices are even better. Staff is attentive and friendly. Possibly the best liquor store I have even been in. There is a large selection of sample sizes so you can try a few without investing in a larger bottle. Those cute bottles get me every time! But I have found a few liquors that I love that way. They sell some very nice gift sets and hold wine tastings. Wheelchair accessible.
Fantastic place...If Im going to spend an inordinate amount of time hanging out in a warehouse, it might as well have all the wine, liquor and cider one could dream of. They have that and more...The staff is knowledgable, the store(or warehouse) is bright and inviting. They have an exceptional selection of cider and their local section is abundant, diverse and well laid-out.....All of this AND tastings?!?!?!?!...Wow...
With an extensive collection of whiskeys from everywhere, This store is a great place for anyone to find anything they are looking for. Big shout out to Mike the manager for the liquor department who always helps me find new whiskeys to review and continues to order great stock for the whiskey lovers out there.
Largest selection of alcohol on the planet, or so it seems. You walk in and almost feel lost. Not a problem, just ask any if the employees. They are all knowledgeable and will direct you to exactly what you need. They have a full range of pricing. I was there for scotch, and they had bottles from $15 to $200. They also have lots of wine, and a whole section for NYS wines. At the registers are the little hotel size mini fridge bottles so you can get a bunch for cheap and try some new tastes.Store is well lit, clean, and well organized. Nothing I would change. Definite recommend.
This place is HUGE. They have an exceptional selection. I dont think there is much you couldnt find here in terms of wine and liquor. They also offer wine tasting courses and a loyalty program for additional rewards. Prices seem decent. We will buy most of our wine and liquor here.
Definitely one of the best places in the Capital District to shop for wine or liquor. The prices you cant beat anywhere else (not by much anyways, if any), and the selection is better than you would expect... Its a warehouse! Youll probably find more than what you need. Plus on the weekends and weekday afternoons theres liquor and wine tasting regularly!
The Albany area has so many great wine and liquor shops, but this is my favorite. Thats partly true because of their broad selection of Spanish and South American wines, but also due to their overwhelming hard liquor and cordial selection. I love the open warehouse-style space and copious signage. And they support local wineries and distilleries, which is always a plus. Reasonable prices and a broad selection are also positives.
We do a lot of Christmas shopping at Exit 9 every year and are never disappointed. Less off helpful staff throughout the store and plenty of lanes open when its time to check out. Excellent selection of all wines and liquors and great prices, which get even better with their free club card.
Cashiers are absolutely ignorant and rude. After going here every week for months im done. Hassling me even when I have my ID and am a rewards member. Ontop of the ridiculous prices, usually 5-7$ more expensive per bottle than any liquor store within 5 miles. All around terrible place to go.
If your looking for something and they dont have it and cany get it, it probably doesnt exist. The selection of wines and liquors here are amazing. Exit 9 offers classes on wine paring and distillation. Looking around you are guaranteed to find something fun and different. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all the different products they offer.
This is the place to buy liquor and wine in the region. They have almost everything imaginable. Only problem (not really though) is that they dont sell beer here. But it is just a wine and liquor store, so thats to be expected. Great selections and a pretty nice rewards program where you earn points at each purchase which can then be used later on when you have earned enough to buy more liquid fun.
Big, huge choice. Of the area, prices OK but wine still more than needs to be. If you after seriously good prices for wine certainly take a trip to Buffalo and Premier Wines. They have buy one get for a $ which often comes out at $4 per bottle. Cannot speak of high end wines or spirit. Join Exit 9 savers club, gives you points and club prices. Time will tell. Very cool automoton piano with quite sympathetic action.
For those of you that do not know this place..... it is HUGE! They seem to always be open when i need them to be. They have a TON, and i mean a TON of wine and liquor selections. especially wine! they also have wine tasting and a CHILLED wine section which is cool. I believe they also have some sort of wine making class or something that i have not checked out. If you want something in particular, they probly have it. I am also never bugged by the employees trying to sell me something. over all, very good!
Huge selection of wine and liquor at discounted prices. There is a tasting bar with limited hours run by friendly and knowledgeable staff. When you sign up for a free membership, you can earn points on each purchase that lead to in store cash credit on future purchases.
Ok prices and modest selection however there are way too many times the same wine is displayed in multiple areas of the store. Prices really only competitive when theyre on a special, buy a certain number and get a discount. Found enough to get a discount but I wont be back
The biggest liquor store I have ever seen. They have an amazing selection of just about everything and their prices are great. Their rewards card is not very rewarding you have to spend $1000 just to get $10 gift card. I make a stop here any time I am in the area and stock up.
I was in town visiting friends and we made a trip here so that I could check out their whisk(e)y selection since I live in PA and have limited choices at home. They have a very nice selection here, and since I was having a tough time choosing I asked Mike to assist and he was fantastic. He asked my about whiskies that I like and then made some recommendations, and also let me do a tasting of several of those recommendations which was a huge help.I ended up buying 5 bottles that I can get at home, including two store picks, a rye and a bourbon. If youre not familiar with store picks, this is when a representative from the store visits the distiller and does a tasting and chooses specific barrels which are only available at that store. Its a nice way to grab something that you cant get anywhere else. So, to summarize; super helpful staff, in-store tastings, and a very nice selection.Minus one star for pricing a little high (but not bad) but otherwise worth a stop.
Huge selection of wines & liquors. Wines are organized by country of origin, so its super easy for me to find my favorite German wine. They dont frequently reorganize (move favorites around so you have to hunt) , trying to get people to buy extra, that they dont need). I LOVE BEING ABLE TO GO STRAIGHT TO WHAT I WANT!!!! My very favorite wine source. They also carry chocolate wine (yum) & cider
If you are going here for scotch, look around in the area first. The prices are higher than just about any other place and it isnt by just a dollar or two. One example is Highland Park 18, $155 here, can get it for $110 nearby. Talisker is another $75 compared to $45 at most other places. If you cant find what you want elsewhere, ask the managers at the stores to order it. Your wallet will thank you.
This is the Target of alcoholic beverages! Conveniently located, it includes a wineology room, tasting rooms, nice bathrooms, and basically everything you would need for an extended trip to the liquor store :-) Including, of all things, full size grocery carts. It is in fact very difficult to leave here with just one or two items, there is so, so much to choose from. There are lots of staff members in green shirts ready to assist you with your questions, if you have them. Get a club card, its free, and you will save some money on specials. Conveniently located across from home Depot, with lots of parking.
The place is huge. I imagine you can find just about anything. Prices seemed to be reasonable. The only complaint I might have is that there is so much selection that I found it difficult to browse. Thats a good problem to have. Just know what youre looking for before you get there.
Is it ok to love a liquor store? I dont drink everyday but its still difficult for me to drive by this store without stopping. The largest selection with the best prices. Big signs hung above each type of alcohol area (even NYS wines). A wine tasting bar in the back corner...love It! On weekends they will often have liquor tastings and specials. Grab a cart when you enter because youre going to discover something you didnt expect as you walk around.
Massive place filled with just about every reasonably-priced liquor imaginable, including a large variety of sampler sized bottles. We went here a while ago for Van Gogh espresso vodka as it was the only retailer in the region listed as carrying it. Picked up some new favorites, too (Bom Bom, Ill be back for you later).
Not really a discount wine and liquor store. Any wine you can find at Empire will be less expensive than at Exit 9. Example: B&H Rousillion is $15.00 at Empire and $20.00 at Exit 9. Also, the selection of French wines tends to be very over-priced and limited: I suspect they buy close-outs of Bordeaux etc. that arent selling that well on the open market and offer them at Exit 9 at inflated prices. Finally, dont be fooled by the point system offer: by the time you reach enough for $90.00 of free wine youve exceeded that amount by not shopping at Empire.
This is where you can get an enormous selection of alcoholic drinks of wines, hard liquor drinks such as Bourbons, and some interesting drinks that are used as part of a drink. The space between things is wide enough to allow a cart to go through, and they have excellent people if you want to talk to people who can help you select something new to try or something at a good quality but slightly less expensive versions. Almost every weekend and some evenings there are presentations to help people learn how wines match one another and match things to food so that you can learn to make better choices to please yourself and your family.
Went to this place on a suggestion from my brother and went to check out and was denied my sale because I walked in with someone who wasnt with me when I checked out. So as a 37 yr old I could not buy alcohol because the 40yr old that walked in with me couldnt be ID. And the prices were actually higher than my local store I just happened to be out of town.

2021-10-30This is huge store with anything and everything you can think of liquor wise. They have a few tasting counters set up where they let you taste premium liquor. I loved the scotch I tasted. They have a great selection of wines as well. This has to be the best place to buy liquor in Clifton park. I was happy with the whiskey selection they have. Checkout was quick as they have multiple checkout counters.

2022-05-26You won me over with this, can you get Tapatio next? That would be awesome. Dont feel pressured though because this is good enough. This is the best tequila in your whole place and the only ones to sell it

2022-07-10I love this place. My only problem is when purchasing a case of wine, having it delivered to my home because Clifton Park is not a place I enjoy driving to anymore. Paying a tip of $25.75, then asking the woman if she received the tip, her response was yes…$4.00. Makes me look like a cheap pathetic person especially when I appreciate what drivers do.I call the establishment, and all they can say is, I have no idea about purchasing online and how the tip is managed. Next time I do not put gratuity on my bill, I will pay the delivery person…in person. It made me look like a cheap idiot

2022-03-12If you live in CP, love wine or many other hard liquors, this place likely has it. They have good prices and a variety that you have to see to believe. My advise is make sure you have a plan before you go in because you might find yourself wondering around for an hour looking at everything.

2021-12-08I love this place for its selection. They have the biggest selection of New York State wine, ciders, and spirits. There are things here you can’t find anywhere else. This is where we go to get everything you need for an upcoming party or your own needs! We have brought friends here from out of town and they are always amazed at what they have to offer, and leave with arm fulls!
