Friendly customer service! Fun immersive experience! We did the High Speed Subway room and had so much fun. The puzzles were very clever (and we’ve done a large handful of escape rooms across the country)! The location is slightly hard to find, but not too bad. Overall amazing time! Fun activity for a family on a cold NYC day!
Four of us (age 11 to 76) did the Sugar Rush room. All four contributed to our escaping with 5 minutes to spare. Great family experience. We were all involved for the whole hour. Only one of us had previous escape room experience (the 11 year old). I greatly appreciated the no-fee change policy as we juggled our vacation plans.
This is the best escape room in nyc i went to a bunch but nothing compares to this! all the clues link to each other which made the room much more understandable, i went to the high speed one which was a train. in addition the game masters were not giving you hints freely and weren’t as annoying as other places which made my experience more enjoyable. i loved this room and i will be returning!!!
Really surprisingly terrific experience! I went with a few friends for my birthday and did the subway-themed room. It was really fun and my first experience with any escape room. Having been a long-time enthusiast of computer games with puzzle-solving aspects, I was able to see a bunch of things that would have been right at home in a computer game and that was a lot of fun. There were a few times that we got bogged down going in the wrong direction and some extremely well-timed and minimal inputs from the operator were instrumental in keeping things going at a fun clip. The woman running the show was super kind and fun and really went out of her way to make sure we had a good time, even offering to take our pictures afterwards. The room itself was in perfect mechanical condition and worked perfectly when we figured out a clue. I went to this escape room experience because it had great reviews so let me add another great review in their favor!
Stumbled upon this place when we had some extra time near Times Square. We have done 15+ escape rooms and encountered puzzle types we hadnt seen before. We did the Cupcake room with 2 people easily in 45 minutes but we did have fun! A few hiccups with the room (missing item), but staff were great.
Did the subway escape room and loved it. It really felt like you were on a subway and our host gave us a great explanation on the backstory for the room, which made it even more immersive. Puzzles were clever, but doable, and the mechanics made the solve extremely rewarding. We escaped with 22 minutes left and no clues. Would definitely recommend for anyone whos interested in escape rooms!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! This was the 5th escape room Ive participated in so going in I had high expectations; EXIT escape hands down exceeded them. My friends and I did the High Speed Subway room and were constantly mind blown. From the creativity in the physical design of the room to the unique elements that led to the unlocking/revealing of various clues, most of which Ive never seen before, this room was definitely one I will always remember. On top of that, the staff was amazing and ensured the safety of everyone in all manners including abiding by COVID guidelines. All in all, this was an impeccable experience and is one I 110% recommend!
This wasn’t our first escape room. We been on a mission to try out different ones in the city as we started in VA. But i will tell you we did the high speed nyc and it was great. We were a group of 3 and managed to beat it with seconds left!! We had a little glitch on our end but they came in at the end to fix it quick and paused our time. The grand master was funny and informative. The theme was great and gave the illusion of being on a high speed train. The puzzles were cleaver and not too hard to figure out but enough to have you thinking. Definitely will come back in the future.
We loved Exit Escape Room! My wife and I did both High Speed NYC and Sugar Rush. They were each a ton of fun & unique in their own ways. As seasoned escapers, neither room was exceptionally difficult but the puzzles were still fun and had some elements we had never seen before in any escape room. We would definitely recommend either of these for people who have never done an escape room before.
I did the MTA Subway themed escape with my boyfriend on a date night. It was a lot of fun and we found that the difficulty level was just right for two people!! We only used one of our clues and finished with 2 minutes and 30 seconds left to spare. I do think $40 per person is a little bit pricey. The puzzles themselves were great -- they were clever, challenging enough, and well-suited to the theme -- but not particularly extraordinary. On top of that, the staff were super friendly. We also appreciated lockers in which to store our belongings during the game, and the fact that all of the games are private with only your group.
What an awesome experience! We had two teams competing at the same time to escape the room (corp event).. They were super accommodating and let us bring in beer and a pizza for after the games. Staff was amazing, the rooms were awesome. Id go back with friends for sure!
This is an awesome place to go in group. I had such a great experience. I went into the submarine one and oh my God it is was so exciting. We were a group of four and we really had to work as a team. They give you hints as well if you get stuck for too long. We completed the mission just in time. Yes, 1min and 23 second before dying. I really loved it and I want to come back and try the subway one.
It was fantastic! I’d done a few other rooms in Illinois. These were way better! We went at the spur of the moment on Monday night. Called and they got us right in, even with just two of us. We did The Mission. It was far beyond the other secret agent style room I did. We literally felt like we travelled the world and went on a mission all from that one spot. We loved it so much we came back to do their Subway room first thing in the AM before heading to the airport to leave town (plus we got a 10% discount as repeat visitors)! It was different but equally as impressive. Loved the subway theme since we were in NYC. Felt like you were really on a train, even from the 7th level of a random building.Mike, the owner, was terrific. Talked with us before and after and went out of his way to make it a great experience. Very friendly. As we wrapped up my wife commented she could see coming back to NYC just to bring friend to Exit Escape. You won’t regret it!
Went with my kids and did the Sugar Rush room. The staff was extremely helpful and my kids had a lot of fun. Really too difficult for kids to figure out on their own but appreciate that this is one of the few things adults can enjoy too that is rated G. They even got cupcakes at the end. I wouldnt try to squeeze more than 5 people in the sugar room. Its a tight space for more than 5 people and it gets hot in there.
We were on a trip to New York and decided to take some time out of sightseeing to try our luck in an escape game. Mike was our game master for the heist escape room(trying to steal gold from some mafia guy) and he was excellent! Super helpful without solving things for us, and leading us to victory and a fun escape! It was fun, the right amount of challenging, and an all around great time. Thank you Mike!
Okay first of all the owner was as sweet as pie. Very attentive. From the first phone call to the end of our visit. We loved him so much we asked if he would take a photo with us.Ive done many escape rooms, but this one was one of my favorites. My coworkers had never been to one. They absolutely loved it. We are already making plans to do the second room. Not to give anything away, but I love an escape room that offers more than meets the eye. We did the runaway train room. And of course we ESCAPED. #GIRLPOWER
We booked online the Perfect Heist room and when we got there everything was really smooth and the room wasn’t too difficult either (we figured out the room with 12 minutes to spare !) However, when we booked online there was nothing saying we needed to show our vaccines. We still brought them in case, but they didn’t ask us for our vaccines when we were in person and that made us extremely uncomfortable. We paid for the room online already so we did it anyways, but if this is a common practice that they don’t ask their customers for vaccine proof, I don’t think we will come again :/
I was admittedly skeptical of escape rooms in general before visiting Exit Escape Room NYC. But my experience there completely changed my mind. The mafia-pizza parlor room was a blast. Interesting puzzles, whimsical details, and just the right amount of challenge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
My friend and I had such an amazing time celebrating my birthday here yesterday. First, we loooooved our Game Master, Latifah. She was so friendly, engaging and funny. She really made our experience so much better. We did the Sugar Rush escape room. We loved that the clues werent overly complicated and were solvable. I have done other escape rooms where clues made zero sense or were so completely complicated that it just wasnt fun anymore. Thank you Escape Exit Room NYC and Latifah for making my birthday so fun. We will definitely be back to try the other rooms. Xo
We had such a great time doing the sugar rush escape room! It was a great brain challenge but not impossible and ended with delicious cupcakes! Definitely recommend coming and trying this place out. And you can play with just the number of people on your party and no strangers which is really nice.
I booked The Perfect Heist event for my s/o and some friends and we actually escaped! The game masters were very understanding and let us start before our friends that were running late arrived. Overall it was a wonderful experience and well be back to try the other rooms.
We are very experienced Escape Room players. This was a great, great experience with very unique and logical puzzles. One of the neatest rooms weve done. That said, we escaped with a lot of time remaining - well look to do a harder room next time. Loads of fun, safe, clean; highly recommend.
My wife and I had a great time in the Sugar Rush room! The puzzles were difficult enough to keep us engaged for about 40 minutes, but not difficult enough to make us feel stressed about time pressure. We were happy to have enough time at the end to decorate our cupcakes nicely.
I booked this for my daughter and friends for her birthday. We arrived at the building, called up to have the doors opened and we arrived at the 7th floor. The whole process was smooth and efficient. From that point, my daughter and friends already felt they were on some adventure. They loved the challenge of The Mission and made it out with just a couple of minutes to spare. They all loved it. We would definitely do it again. Doing it through groupon was an extra perk
Took my siblings to this escape room and it was so much fun! The staff was hilarious and super nice. The experience was worth every penny. We did the high speed escape room, super clever and well done! Shoutout to Matt for being a great game master, hilarious guy and super cool. 100/10 recommend this place will be back for their other rooms!
The room was well put together and the clues were well placed throughout the room. Our team made it out with only a few minutes to spare but it took a team effort to solve all of the clues. If youre looking for a fun activity for 4 to 8 friends, go checkout the Exit Escape Room in midtown!
Fun room! We did the Heist and the room was challenging but manageable! Lots of innovative puzzles I have never seen and Ive done more than 15 room before. We were stuck in the beginning but was able to breeze through it ater on with the help of some clues. It was enjoyable and I recommend it.
The sugar rush room was definitely not worth 30$ each. It was very easy, and we finished it with 30 ish minutes to spare. I normally don’t write reviews but I saw no one mentioning this and I thought it best to share my experience. Also, the worker we were with was very snarky for no reason. As someone who works in customer service aswell, it was uncalled for when all we were doing was being respectful and trying to have a good time. I give a 3/5 stars because there were cupcakes.
Dakota is such a hardworking, nice guy! We had a really fun time with The Heist and recommend others to try it if youre looking for a challenge. Lots of immersive, fun puzzles to get through. If you like combination focused escape rooms this is the one to do. Very clever setup! 10/10 would come back again.
Such a great time! We were a group of 4 and we did the High Speed NYC subway-themed escape room. I was very surprised on how detailed and themed the room was. Some of the clues and challenges are very clever and things Ive never seen before on any escape room. The staff was great and hilarious. They also make sure they follow all covid measures.
I have been here before when they had pizzeria escape room in the past and came here to do escape room subway. It was really fun. There were 7 of us and we got out with about 25 mins to spare. All of us have been in other escape rooms so it was not difficult in our opinion and surprised how fast we finished. There are puzzles in the room that require more than just finding out codes for a lock so that makes the room more enjoyable. They do have a screen to give you guidance when you are lost and also a two way radio (walkie talkie) to ask for clues, if you need them. Another good thing about the escape room is that you dont use the clues more than once so there is no confusion. One thing that was disappointing was one of the prop came undone, but someone did come in and fix it immediately. Think maybe it was yanked on too many times previous time as I could see the hole on the wall looked bigger than needed to be.Overall, a fun room and probabaly a great room to start if you are ea beginner. Different puzzle solving skills give different people an opportunity to participate and definitely loved that not all the puzzles were to get a lock undone.
This escape room was great! We all had so much fun! We have been to many other escape rooms but this one is for sure the best! Staff was amazing, we did the sugar rush escape room. The kids enjoyed it a lot. We got a little surprise at the end. We are definitely looking forward to coming back and would highly recommend this escape room. We are looking to come back for the train escape room. The staff was amazing. If you are looking for an escape room to go to you should definitely come here.
We visited Exit Escape Room on the occasion of our daughters tenth birthday, and did the Sugar Rush room. We, the grown-ups, have visited quite a few escape rooms in the past, but it was our daughters first escape room. All three of us had a blast! The riddles are fun and creative, and we found them challenging in just the right level - our child could contribute and feel part of the team, but it wasnt too easy for us. The cupcakes in the end are also a sweet, nice touchWe are also very COVID-concious, and felt very safe in that regard.Overall, it was a wonderful experience, that I would highly recommend to kids and adults alike! It was the perfect introduction to the experience for our daughter, who already begs us to come back for the other room! (:
I took my daughter and her friend today. They had so much fun! They found it challenging, but solved it (with a couple clues). It was very cleverly designed. I loved the setting of the subway and as native New Yorkers, it was very familiar to these tweens. That said, it would be fun for out-of-towners as well. The man, whose name “escapes” me ;), was friendly, helpful but did not interfere in the fun of solving the puzzle. The place was clean, had lockers and a bathroom. We had lunch at Shake Shack 2 blocks away after escaping the room. I really recommend this escape room!
I took my son to do The Heist and this was our first time ever doing an exit room. He did fantastic for ten years old. I am so proud of him. I had a great time and so did he. The subway was behind and we got there late and they still accommodated us. Employees were wonderful. Thank you so much for the fun night.
Went there for the first time and did the room perfect heist. That room was awesome, you will think it’s small but there’s so many things to do in that little room that you won’t be disappointed. Room was very interactive! Also did the baking challenge one as well. My friends and I went head to head with the two rooms the have for the baking room, and again it was awesome. You had to use all your sense to solve the room. Overall experience was great, will be be back for the final room!
We were a group of 3 and booked The Heist about less than hr before it started. This is the hardest room. Christine(I believe) was our clue master and super great. We had such a fun time and were able to solve it. We 100% plan on going back to do the one with the cupcakes haha.
Me and 4 of my friends went to go do this escape room. We wanted to pay when we got there so that we could all pay separately, and they were very accommodating on the phone and booked it for us! The room (the High Speed train one) was well thought out with the way they had their clues and puzzles, and that’s coming from someone who has done 20+ rooms! Not the hardest room, but definitely fun and good for beginners.
This was a great experience! It was just my boyfriend and I and its definitely difficult with only 2 people but we made it out. We did the Pizza themed one and it was a lot of fun. All the clues made sense and it was a fun time. The man working (seemed like the owner) was also very nice and welcoming. We will be back to try the other rooms :)
We had an amazing time. Did this with my coworkers. We did the heist room. It took us a while to get through the first half but once we did we started rolling. We finished with 10 mins to spare!!!!!!! I honestly didnt think we would finish but we did. Mike was super nice (i had left with the walkie!!! But he was patient and waited til i had lunch to return it).The room was clean and they were on top of the social distancing. I would recommend this and we will be going back!!!
Yes, theyre still open despite the pandemic! It was my 2nd escape room experience ever and my husband and I really enjoyed it. We did the Train one, and it was very clever and interactive. We got out with 11 seconds to spare. The staff member (Anna, I believe) was very thorough, cordial and helpful. We would definitely recommend it and come back to try the other room.
Went to do their rooms during our trip to NYC. We really enjoyed our experience with this company.Their rooms were not that hard, but still very enjoyable. The puzzles and flows were logical and linear. The room themes were unique and some of the puzzles really interesting. My friend is a newbie and Ive done close to 100 rooms and we both had a great time. My friend kept saying the experience (esp with Sugar Rush & Italian Job) here were one of the highlights of her visit:).We ended up doing 4 out of 5 of their rooms (it was early in the morning and their rooms happened to be empty). Mike, the owner, was very nice and kindly gave us discounts for the subsequent rooms and even let us do the last room for free :).Our faves were Sugar Rush and Italian Job. I have to say Ive never done such unique concept. We got to find ingredients and bake a cupcake and we did end up getting a real cupcake. It definitely gave a nice touch. We also really liked the setting of the High Speed. It had the replica of a real NYC train. Mission also had a component where youre in a plane with the movement and sound of a real plane. I think these were well thought-out and made the rooms more immersive. All in all, I highly recommend this company :). Will come back for their last room we havent done when were back to NYC.
My college student daughter and I met in NYC for a girls weekend, and we did the Sugar Rush escape game as our last activity before leaving the city. We had a terrific time!First, let me compliment our game master, Arthur. Arthur was funny and welcoming and helpful, but respected our wish to only receive hints if requested.Second, I love to bake, so we were excited to do a baking themed room, which wed never seen before. The set and props are really well thought-out, adorable, and fun. The ways you find ingredients for your cupcakes are very clever.Third, the game itself is well-conceived. I will say that it is an entry-level game, perfect for those who have never done an escape room before or for a group of kids (both my daughter and I said that my twelve-year-old stepdaughter and her friends would love it). That was OK with us - weve done very challenging and less challenging rooms, and the theme was so much fun that it kept us smiling. Only one comment - be sure that people who play musical instruments wont be confused by the clues. The owners might want to rethink one clue based on that suggestion.Overall, a great time!
Awesome experience! As someone who has done escape rooms before this place by far had the most friendly staff ( shout out to Dakota)! The sugar factory room was awesome... a bit challenging in the beginning but once you got started it was all good from there. The best part was we even got a real cupcake at the end after escaping!
Went here with my boyfriend for our anniversary date and it was INCREDIBLE!!!! this was our first time doing an escape room and Arthur was the staff member who helped us understand all the rules. he was so kind and supportive all throughout. the subway escape room was a perfect balance between challenging and thrilling and we had so much fun. excellent staff and excellent escape rooms! definitely coming back again soon to try the other ones
We had a great time doing the High Speed room! Its very well set up and monitored by the staff, the clues (when we asked for them) were just enough of a hint to keep us going, and the puzzles and props were fun and well integrated into the setting. Its really well designed for the amount of time too - we escaped with 50 seconds to go. Some of our group had done escape rooms before, and some hadnt, and everyone thought this one was very fun!
5 of us attempted to complete the Perfect Heist and ALMOST succeeded! This was a super fun outing and the staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us helpful hints and clues along the way. Definitely recommend! They have another one currently that lets you try out cupcakes.
No spoilers - High Speed NYC is one of the best rooms Ive ever done! We did it with just 2 people (both who have a lot of escape room experience) and got out with about 2 minutes left. It was very challenging but not impossible. The room and location was very clean and they had us sanitize our hands before going in the room, which I appreciated. We wore masks the whole hour with no problem. I cant recommend this room enough!
This was our first escape room and it was highly recommended by our “escape room expert” friends. We did Sugar Rush.It was SO MUCH FUN! A little challenging without going crazy, good to you with kids. Thomas was super helpful and fun. Staff at the front also very friendly.Coming back tomorrow for a different one!We should try
We did the sugar rush room with 3 people and it was tons of fun!! The puzzles took each of our unique ways of puzzle solving to complete. We used all 5 senses to solve the puzzles. The taste, smell and listen puzzles were a blast. The staff was very helpful and friendly and he gave some good hints during the game. I want to go again!!
Went here and did the sugar rush room with my girlfriend. It was on the easy side, we had 18 minutes left with just the two of us, but it was enjoyable the entire way through. The employee setting up our room was nice and friendly, and was talked a bit before and after doing the room.Definitely recommend for a first time or even if you just want a fun experience!
Fun place. We did the submarine challenge and it was really great. It had a good mix of different types of puzzles to solve. And the flow of the room made sense also. I would say about medium difficulty, we made it out only using one clue. I’ve done a number of escape rooms and this one is definitely the best set design and overall feel that I have been in.
Our group came here as a team building activity and had an absolute blast. We did the High Speed Subway room which was incredible. The set design really made you feel like you were on an out of control subway. The clues and puzzle are so well thought out, and really pushes you to focus. Loved every minute. The staff was incredible and we hope to return soon!
This was a fantastic room, we really enjoyed our visit! We did High Speed NYC, our team was my wife and I (ER veterans) and a friend of ours who was relatively new to escape rooms (though no stranger to adventure games), and we all had a blast! The puzzles were clever and diverse, and the set design was phenomenal (and perfectly fitting for an escape room in NY)! Would highly recommend taking the time to visit!
We were looking for a good escape room in Manhattan and found Exit. We booked the Sugar Rush and it was awesome!!!! I’ve done a bunch but this is definitely the best escape room in nyc! The place was clean, the staff was super friendly and the puzzles were brilliant. Highly recommended!!
We did the high speed escape room. We have, somehow, progressed without solving some of the clues, which shows how badly it was set up. The staff member kept interrupting.Weve done over 20 escape rooms in various countries and this was the worst one.Edit: we visited in September 2019. As Im looking for a new escape room, I came across this room again and I realised that Ive never reviewed it.
Went for a team-building event and loved it! We had a group of 9 which was full but fit for both the subway and submarine rooms. Our group had a mix of some with experience with escape rooms and other first-timers. The rooms are very well done and challenging but fun! We had so much fun with the subway we decided to take on the submarine right after. I wish they had more rooms. Loved the “high-tech” aspect of the rooms. One of the best I’ve been to.
We hosted our sons 11 birthday at Exit Escape room and everyone had a blast!I made the arrangements with the owner who was incredibly helpful and sweet, offered to put out some snacks and beverages for the boys to enjoy before going in. The rooms were amazing! Very detailed and realistic! We did the submarine and the runaway subway car. Some was hard to figure out but our group of 11/12 years old managed to master sub room and almost the train. Can’t go wrong with either rooms . I love that owner is small local business man as well. Would return 100%!
A brilliant way to end an amazing holiday! The escape room was so much fun. A real brain teaser and a fab family activity. We did the runaway subway. Harder than we thought it would be, but eventually manageable. Staff were extremely friendly too. A well thought out experience. Highly recommended!!
The High Speed NYC Escape Room was a LOT of fun. The clues were really great and the tech was awesome. We had a group of 6 people and I would recommend even less actually. We got through the room with almost 30 minutes to spare which is great but if there were less of us it would have taken more time to solve. Still a great time!
So. Much. Fun! My friends and I did the subway challenge and solved it with barely 2 minutes to spare! It was insanely fun and challenging. The staff were extremely friendly and patient. He explained everything before we embarked on our challenge and provided clues when we were hopelessly stuck. All in all, it was an amazing experience and at a great price. I think well be back to tackle the other escape room theme.
I absolutely loved the subway theme at Exit escape room! All the puzzles made perfect sense and the flow of the room was great! I loved the use of space and technology in the room. It was a very original and unique idea and I had a blast playing it with my team. I played a handful of escape rooms and this one is my favorite. The staff was very friendly and accommodated us very last minute. I highly recommend this place!
I took my team to the Escape Room in NYC and we did the High Speed Train. It was the best fun we have had together in a very long time. The staff was fantastic and very accommodating to our timeframe and our groups. We had two groups and they worked with us to split up so we could both do the same escape room at the same time. It would be a great activity for team building, family outing, friends gathering, client appreciation and so much more. Book a room and try it out!
REALLY AMAZINGWe only did the subway room and we finished it with 20 mins to spare. The puzzles were so different from just finding a lock and a key and were really fun to figure out!My only concern is the simplicity of the puzzles, but at the same time they were all very logical and suited with the aesthetic of the room.I recommend!
We did „High Speed“ - and it was absolutely awesome! The puzzles are great and surprising. Our host Latifa made our experience perfect. She gave us a warm welcome and was very friendly! I highly recommend coming here if you enjoy carefully designed Escape room games!
We had an amazing time. Arthur greeted us and showed us to our room. He was thorough with explaining the process and beyond helpful with clues. The kids and I had a wonderful time. Out of all the escape rooms I’ve been to, this place was the most fun. Highly recommend, and a huge thank you to Arthur !!!
We went there last Saturday and had a blast! We were a group of 4 people and we did the Train room, which was challenging, fun and very unique. We had so much fun that when we got out of the room (after 42 minutes!) we decided to do the other room - The Mission. It was interesting and also more challenging than the Train! We finished it in 47 minutes :)I highly recommend this escape room!
The experience that I had at exit escape room was fantastic and honestly the best escape room I’ve been to. The staff were very helpful especially Arthur and the rooms were interactive and engaging. It challenged us in a good way while still providing enough hints for us to finish it with a couple of minutes to spare. I would definitely recommend this escape to anyone.
Was my first time in an escape room and had a great time. Lots of fun and great puzzles. We were introduced by Thomas who did a great job and made the whole thing even more lively through his stories. Would definitely recommend if youre looking for an escape room in NY.
Sugar rush is one of the most creative escape rooms I have played (not just cause we got to eat our reward 😉) The puzzle wasnt extremely fun but an amazing use of all senses. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the rooms are very well thought out with high production value.
Great experience and service at Exit Escape Room NYC! Booked out two rooms for our use; hassle free booking and they worked with me on shuffling the numbers around when I found out some people couldnt make it (initially 7 and 6 people, we shuffled around until 6 and 6) with no issue. Arrived on time, they had someone show us the lockers to place our personal items, then one person accommodated each team to the room and gave the background and overview. We booked Operation Dive and High Speed NYC; loved the mechanisms, a good mix of tech based and physical interactions and sound effects were immersive. And of course the victory photos at the end were the icing on the cake. Wonderful.
My family and I were visiting from a different state to see NYC for the first time. We had nothing to do on a Monday night and randomly thought of an escape room since we do them all the time where we live. Saw that this place had good reviews and we booked the High speed NYC. I have got to say that this was one of the best escape rooms I have ever done . We got through with one minute to spare and it was definitely worth every penny. The clues were unique and so interactive. If we come back to NYC ( hopefully we will) I will definitely do the sugar rush !! Thank you for creating this piece of art !
I booked a room to surprise my wife for her birthday. Prior to the escape, I spoke with the staff to plan the surprise. Mike was tremendously helpful and courteous and made planning a breeze. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and eager to explain The Mission. The room was a lot fun. Very well laid out, good storyline and clues that made for a challenging but enjoyable experience. Best part, we escaped! I look forward to trying the other room.
Submarine Room at 10:30pm on a Monday night.Pros: The staff was excellent. They answered the phone quickly, were helpful with directions, patient with preparation, kept us updated with expected wait time, and were very encouraging when I walked into the submarine room and needed to grab a jacket from the locker. They were also attentive when we had been stuck for a while and checked in to see if we needed some help.Pros: The room was really neat. The screens displayed water and the lighting created a nice ambience. At one point, and I feel like I’m not ruining anything by telling you this, a periscope drops down from the ceiling for your next obstacle.Cons: The equipment had a malfunction. One of the codes wouldn’t work because the lock didn’t have power to it. A staff member came in and turned it back on and returned some time to our clock because we weren’t able to move on without inputting the code.Note: There were only two rooms. I don’t know whether that’s a positive or a negative point. For only two people, it was good, but for a large group of 6+, I don’t think it would be challenging enough to be fun.We enjoyed this experience a lot and look forward to doing more. We’ll try a harder room next time and see how that goes. Monday night doesn’t seem too busy. We didn’t book a private game but we were the only two people there.
OMG!! What an incredible time. Went with friends and family. Our first time in an escape room. Awesome time. Not impossible to finish, but that’s what we liked about it. Employees are extremely helpful and courteous. Would definitely recommend them. I’d have given you more stars if I could!
Excellent Room!My wife and I did High Speed NYC with another group of 4 and had a blast! We escaped with 24 minutes left, not because the game was easy, but because everyone communicated and worked well together. My wife and I have done over 30 games each and the other group did a few other rooms.A lot of high tech props with logical solutions to the answers. The immersion factor was alo very good.I highly recommend this room.
Review for The Mission (from experienced gamers, we did it mid May):+ Great puzzles, all logical and well embedded in the story+ Some very original ones, LOVED the last part. Lots of interactions.- middle sequence, although amusing, felt rather useless and time-consuming- the lobby was dirty. First impression was def not great. However the room delivered the goodsOverall I highly recommend this room to new and experienced gamers alike!
This was a great experience. My daughter chose the runaway train and it was exciting and challenging. We did well but didnt make in out in the 60 min time allotted. The worker there gave us a little extra time b/c there wasnt a party behind us and he was helpful / not TOO helpful though, which was great. The area around there is not so lovely - unfortunately many homeless people on the sidewalk as we approached the building.SO much fun, I am planning to do a submarine escape next!
It was great. We did the Sugar rush. The guy was great he gave us random clues😂 we still didnt make it though, but got the cupcakes anyway. We did only get 50 minutes, as he said he has to set up for the next group. But i guess thats why he was generous enough to help us through the way. Overall it was fun.
Great evening avoiding the rain & cold outside! We did the submarine & intelligence rooms - both were really good and would recommend either to friends. Both hosts were fantastic!Saw some reviews about parts of the submarine not working but ours worked flawlessly.Really enjoyable evening and surprised by great prices to book privately. Will come back next time Im in Manhattan!
This was my first escape room every and I gotta say it delivered. We did the high speed rail and it was amazing. The race was against the clock and every time we solved a small puzzle i kept on getting more excited and couldn’t wait for the next puzzle. Tom the game master was a great guy and really got us pumped for our escape room.
We did the High Speed NYC room and it was amazing! I’ve done a bunch of escape rooms and can honestly say this was one of the best. Was very fun while still giving a challenge. And Thomas was the BEST moderator! Thank you for the encouragement and helping us to escape!
They were really friendly and nice! They explained the game well and helped us along the way. The puzzles were doable, but they were challenging and really clever. If you don’t know what to do with your friends or family, I highly recommend doing an escape room at Exit Escape!
Loved it! we did the secret spy room and, it was one of the harder rooms. it was very hard and very fun and very high-tech. it was four of us so it wasnt crowded. i recommend getting a private room, its only extra two dollars. i just think they could have gave us a little more time. the staff was friendly and great punctuality. im doing it again.
It was my 31st bday & we wanted to do something different and Im so glad we came here!!!!! We had the Highspeed Room and every part of that room was so much fun!!!!! My very first escape room and definitely not my last!!!! The staff is SUPER FRIENDLY and everyone had a blast! Took our friendship toba whole another level. Will be visiting again very soon for the other 2 rooms! Love the atmosphere and mission. Thank you for making my birthday one of the best ever!
We took our son and his friends here for his eleventh birthday. The scenario we played (the runaway subway train) was quite kid-friendly, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. One of the kids almost immediately managed to get an incorrect item accidentally stuck into an essential slot, and a staff quickly member came and fixed the problem. We helped the children with a few particularly challenging things but tried our best to leave the rest to them; in the end, our group of ten- and eleven-year-olds needed all three hints and some help from us too— plus an extra two minutes, which the staff very kindly offered when we hit an hour, with the encouragement that we were very close to escaping. Even after that, the staff didnt in any way rush us out and even encouraged us to take our time taking photos in front of the starting scene. The kids had a great time, and so did we. I hope we get to come back and escape a room with our own friends here sometime soon.
As an escape enthusiast, this room is definitely high up among my favorites! Creative, realistic, fun! The challenges were just right...not too hard, not too easy. Race to NYC would be an awesome room for beginners as well as enthusiasts. Thanks Patrick and Vincent! We had a blast!
We have played many escape rooms before and this one is definitely one of the best! The atmosphere is incredible and the puzzles are very fun and at the perfect level of difficulty. The design of the rooms is very immersive and looks just like the real place (train, submarine...).
I went with a bunch of friends to the High Speed escape room and we made it out with under a minute left. It was very well designed with a lot of novel puzzles which involved a lot of technology Ive not seen in other escape rooms. The attendant was very nice and accommodating. Highly recommended.
This was my first escape room experience, and it was a great one. I tried the High Speed (subway) one and completed it with one other person (my boyfriend; great date btw). I chose this specific one because it got great reviews, and it wasnt a scary one -- more about the riddle. It cost $28 per person and it was worth it. I appreciated that they were open Sunday night because a lot of things close early. The room was challenging at first, but the clues / clue master helped us along when we didnt understand some of the rules or something glitched a little. We didnt need to ask for any hints, but you could if you wanted to. Without giving too much away, we completed the first half in about a half hour, but as we learned the rules we completed the second half in 15 minutes. The puzzles were hands-on and rewarding. They were straightforward once you get the internal consistencies of the game. The woman who set us up gave us exactly the right info to get us started and she was very kind. I would for sure go back and try another one of their rooms.
Excellent!!! We Had The Best Time!!!This place is amazing. We had the best time. We came in from Long Island on the train. It was only an 8 minute walk from Penn Station. The staff was all very knowledgeable and thoughtful. If you’re in NYC definitely go there. You will not be disappointed.. We will definitely be going back for our second escape! Thanks to our game master she was great!
We did operation dive. We had a group of 8 people. It was a lot of fun and had some cool features but the periscope was not working. We were told that as soon as we got into the room. That was annoying but not a big deal as it was only needed for one of the tasks. The final task is to “fire” the missile. We had it properly in the chamber with 10 minutes left and the fire button would not work!! So we just stood there trying until time ran out. Then we asked the employee to show us how it works and he couldn’t get it to work either and his excuse was “it needed to be rebooted.” AKA it’s broken too. Also not a huge deal because it’s only 1 task. But when you add them up with the fact you never get to actually escape it really hinders the experience
Fun! Fun! Fun! Ive been in several escapes rooms in NYC, this one is the best so far! The challenges and the mysteries of the puzzles were so much fun! Great idea for group entertainment and bounding. Definitely coming back for the second room. We did the high speed NYC room.
I was a parent chaperone on a school outing to Exit Escape Room. Everything about participating in an escape room experience there was easy and pleasant from start to finish. All of the people who work there are very accommodating and very patient, and I dealt with several of them in the course of reserving two rooms and bringing a bunch of kids there. They even put out snacks for our large, hungry group. And the kids had a ball! They want to go back and do the rooms they didnt yet do! I highly recommend this company.
Excellent. Did all three rooms, Subway with four people which we completed with plenty of time to spare (for experienced escapers, this is the easiest of the three) then did Submarine and Spy with just my teenage daughter. They were challenging in completely different ways, and immersive. We had a blast! They gave just the right number of hints (because we said we would happily accept guidance if we were stuck) which leant to the great experience. Highly recommend. Would not do any of the rooms with more than four people, personally.
Came here with a friend who had flown in from Canada for a business trip. Wanted to show him all the cool things NYC, and the US in general had to offer. We had so much fun escaping, that we ended up coming back 20 minutes later to try another room! Extremely friendly staff, and the rooms themselves are out of this world.

2022-05-17After completing all of the current available rooms at Exit Escape Room, I wanted to update my review to share my opinion on High Speed and The Perfect Crime. See my previous review for Sugar Rush!High Speed - I did High Speed with a group of 5, but a group of 3 or 4 could definitely do it. In my opinion, this is the most challenging room of the ones we have done at Exit, though it is easier compared to other escape rooms in the city. What I enjoy about the puzzles at Exit is that they are not necessarily lock puzzles and they are pretty interactive. If you bring a team with unique strengths, everyone will be able to contribute! The Perfect Crime - I did The Perfect Crime with a group of 3, which was a good size for the room. Even though it is rated more difficult than High Speed, I really did not think that was the case. However, I think this one is easier if you have done the other rooms at Exit. The one thing that I did not like during this room was that the moderator gave us hints too quickly. Not to sound ungrateful, but she did not give us think time, which is sometimes where the joy comes in.Overall, I like the interactive components of Exit, but I think their rooms could be more challenging. Therefore, I would highly recommend Exit to beginners. I also think that if their pricing is higher for smaller groups, the rooms should be challenging enough where everyone in the group does something. There is not enough to do in these rooms with a group larger than 4.

2022-01-03One the best escape rooms weve done, and our family has done quite a few. Very fun and innovative room. We did the sugar rush room that was so unique and required us to use all our senses. Rooms were clean and well kept. Staff was amazing (Mike) and was very helpful and friendly. It was so good we decided to stay and do a second room!

2022-05-29It was my first Escape Room. I didnt know what to expect being locked in a confine space but it wasnt a problem. Once you start looking for clues, the space is not a problem.I went as a group of 6; 3 adults, 3 kids (ages 12, 13,14). It was a great first experience and the reward at the end was a great incentive for the kids. Sugar Rush was perfect for us. Definitely will be back.

2022-01-13Easy booking, convenient cancellation policy, very nice staff, challenging rooms. We did The Perfect Heist and had a great time. The location has free locker availability for your personal belongings, and the staff ask you if youd like to use the bathroom before entering the room (sounds weird, but extremely nice of them to do considering youll be locked in a room for 60 minutes). The only thing I wish is that they had more than 3 options for rooms. Would love to go back more than 3 times. Highly recommend.

2021-12-29Been here twice over two years. First room we did was the subway. It was really great. Good puzzles good flow good atmosphere. Second room we did was the Sugar Rush which was terrible. Super easy, not for anyone that has done more than one room. Difficulty I’d give it a 1 out of 10. Not good atmosphere. Easy puzzles. So the balanced rating is a 2.5. They need to get rid of airfare rush. I think it took our team of four about 20 Minutes to figure it all out.

2022-06-04My husband I did the Suger Rush room and loved it. The theme was great. It was challenging but we got through with no time to spare and cupcakes as a reward. Well designed room. Staff are friendly. Booking and updating booking seamless. I strongly recommend this venue.

2022-04-13Myself, my wife and my 8 year old did our first escape room with Exit Escape Room NYC. We really enjoyed our private session. Most escape rooms will require you to pay extra for a private course. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. We did the Sugar Rush Escape Room. My 8 yr old loved it and so did we. We will definitely be back. Thanks again to the Exit Escape Room NYC staff.

2022-05-23Really excellent escape room! We did the Runaway Train one, and we had a great time. Staff was very helpful. Challenge level was good. One suggestion: rather than telling us the scenario verbally at the beginning, there could be some kind of audio or cutscene that plays to set the scene. Show, dont tell! Ive had this in other escape rooms, and it made it feel more immersive. But none of this stopped us from having a great time!
