Extended Stay America - Albany - SUNY in other cities:
I have really enjoyed my stay here at this extended stay america. Everyone here has such awesome customer service but I have to say that Gabbie and Shi are among the 2 best employees here. Their customer service is absolutely extraordinary!!! I seriously have never even seen them in a negative mood, like ever. When I come across people like them it inspires me to smile more and be just as positive. I am going to keep staying here as long as im in Albany New York. I am just so pleased with this establishment. Gabbie also knows how to deal with people and problems. I can learn a lot from an individual like her. Please check out this amazing hotel, you will not be dissapointed!!!! Thanks for being so AWESOME!!!!!!!
Desiree the convenient location, I can not look past all the issues at this place. Website stats all non smoking suites, clearly this is not enforced. The place reeked. Bathroom was dirty, couldnt even go in shower, tub was too gross. The door had tape on the bottom seemingly to hold it together. It was overall dirty, dingy, and loud. Im grateful I only had to spend one night.
Had an amazing stay here last night. Shy was working the desk when two friends and I checked in, and she was beyond compassionate, accommodating, and attentive. The rooms were clean, appliances in working order, and the sheets tidy. If you have the pleasure of spending any amount of time here, I highly recommend seeking out Shy and having a chat. She’s easily one of the kindest, sweetest hotel front desk workers in the nation, definitely deserving of a raise.
When I showed up, they didnt have a bed for me. I called to get a refund and the manager claimed I never showed up for my reservation. Then tried to cover it up and say I was offered a room and refused to take it. I was told I would get a refund after going back and forth with management. Did I ever get a refund? No.9 months later. Still no refund even though management replied with we are investigating. This company is a joke.I would not recommend it. The Marriot right next door is a much better choice for the same price.
Positive: The only redeeming quality of this hotel was the desk person. She was profusely apologetic for the condition of the hotel and room when I told her that we were leaving and said that the manager would reimburse us the night. I was never reimbursed. Negative: From entering the hotel, the first thing that stuck you was the prevalent cigaret smoke smell. The room was dirty. The bed linens smelled like a high school locker room. It was so bad that after 5 minutes I booked another hotel and left. Avoid at all cost
Terrible, dirty, disgusting. Not worth $10.00 a night. Immediately checked out and they charged me for 1 night. They did credit me for the other 6 days, and I will say that the 1 food thing was the girl at the front desk. She was very polite, and seemed to know her job. They need to tear that building down and redo it.
Positive: The hotel did have everything they said on the website. Negative: Not worth the $. The beds were made up, but the room was not clean. Food still in the fridge, no towels or kitchen accessories at all. Had to ask for everything at the front desk. Breakfast was a joke. Felt dingy, like a $--- motel.
I had a nice stay for the night, isnt it time for an upgrade? The rooms are spacious. The smell of Marijuana was very strong, I wanted to come out but decided to just stay in the room and open the window. They need to upgrade the hotel and at least spray the hallways for the odor. Replace or steam clean the carpet its really smells terrible. The,staff is nice,
I called three separate times and spoke to three separate employees and each one told me I would be able to check in at 18 and when I was greeted by desk staff they told me I wasn’t allowed to check in unless I was 21 when I spoke to there employee Ryan on the phone after this incident he confirmed it was 18 and then we went back and told the employee where she told us her manager Jalena can make her own rules if she wants to and she isn’t letting us in.
Worst stay, room smelled, bed bugs, worst service..Front Desk Person was rude. The bathroom door lock was stuck and the front desk told me that if you or kiddo would have stuck in bathroom, we call 911, but now you have to wait for 2 days to get the door unlocked.. I end up using kitchen knife for unlocking door…Bed bugs were the worst part…I m never goin to stay in any extended stay hotel..
Had a negotiated corporate rate but they didnt honor it. Recurring pet fees etc etc. Paid 3800$ for a months stay . When you extend a few days they jack the rate up to 156$ a night.. whatever they can do to eek out more money from you. It appears theyre trained to talk circles around the topic since corporate does exactly what the manager and front desk does. Talks circles around the subject. I highly recommend take your business elsewhere. John @ control heating and cooling
A clean nice.place to stay with just a short walk to SUNY Albany. Laundry facility and vending machine average. No silverware in our room but minor inconvenience. They do not allow for.easy streaming. Thats a negative... A good place for a little fun discreetly as you cant hear the neighbors next door.
Stayed on 1/2/21. Front desk staff did not know the free wifi info; said theyd have to text their manager to find out. The safety bar for the door was broken, there was a hole in the wall, the telephone was broken, Im unsure of the substance that was in the rolling desk chair, and there was no ice in the freezer (not sure if thats even a thing). I wouldve requested a room change, but that wouldve put me on a higher floor and I needed to be on the first floor for personal reasons. My room was prepaid, but I was asked for my card at checkout because they had none of my prepayment info; they had to contact their manager and I had my credit card company call them while this was happening. Staff was not dressed in a professional manner and could use more training.
Not crowded due to Covid. Very clean, feels quite safe. Staff are very responsive and accommodating. They all wear masks that Ive seen; cant say the same about other residents who are in the hallway, so I make sure Im wearing mine. Im here for a longer-term stay, so it really matters to me.
The staff are very pleasant but the rooms, hallways, common areas wreak of smoke and the hotel room and hallways are below average when it comes to cleanliness standards. The lobby has a shelf and literally a layer of dust on it. The grounds around hotel have (for 2 days straight) empty alcohol containers, and garbage. This is a good location as i am familiar but never again will I stay here. I read reviews prior that were written 6+ mos ago where hotel management have received similar feedback but yet has clearly done nothing to address it. This is near a University and again is a great location, i highly recommend going with A different hotel. I will from now on stick to Hilton properties. Goodluck.
Rooms need improvement, but the staff here is AWESOME (Im looking at you Andrew!) and will make you feel at home and forget the other not-so-pleasant details! They will go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I love staying because of the kitchenettes. Great concept !
The room was indeed large as other reviews have stated. However, cleanliness could have been improved. The hotel offers basic internet for free with a variety of rates offered for “premium internet” which I do not appreciate. Ironing board in the room was nice and worked well. Plenty of cabinet space for clothing, and kitchen equipment if you plan on staying for a long period of time. The breakfast is very minimal: coffee and muffins so be prepared.
Constant smell. They dont do anything about people smoking in hotel!! Dont do anything about noise complaints!! If someone uses water near you all you hear is a loud humming for quite some time. Breakfast consists of a granola bar. Pretty shady people just hanging around at night. Luckily I only stayed for one night!!
Walls are thin so you hear everything. Room was not cleaned to my standard when we arrived. And the cleaning once a week, they just make the bed and change towels, not even sure they vacuumed. The staff were very polite and helpful. The smell in the hallways is bad. It did the job for 3 weeks but I definitely would stay somewhere is next time
Note: Rewriting this review a year after my first stay. Happy to say, all the positive elements I wrote about before have only been improved even more.If you have to stay for any period of time in Albany, whether for business or pleasure; youll find no better place. The rates are fiercely competitive, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the rooms are clean.Parking is easy to navigate, as is the hotel. Each room is equipped with a 2-burner stove, a sink, microwave, full-sized refrigerator, and 7 cabinets. 40/50in TVs with cable (HMDI ports in the back, for those who bring a laptop/console for entertainment). Wifi is what you expect from a hotel. Never ran into connection issues for streaming, though, a LAN port would be appreciated for those who require large file downloads while on business.Bathrooms were clean, as were the linens.Couldnt ask for better staff. Theres always someone manning the Front Desk, even at ungodly hours. They appear to hire a good deal of their employees from the college next door. Management is definitely doing something right when they can rally college students to do such a great job.At the time Im writing this review, it had snowed 18-24 inches. When the (states) plow came through and iced in my car, staff came by before check-out time to free all the cars. Truly above and beyond.
1. Odor in the hallway and room 152 unable to describe; however an employee was spraying the hotel walls with a spray to remove. UNSUCCESSFUL!!2. Bathroom appeared to be clean; but after careful inspection..Hair in the shower area. Floor area soiled. The flooring is aged laminate. Dripping shower head that caused the floor to remain wet. Used shower curtain to prevent splash back from the drip.3. Refrigerator handle soiled. 4. Carpet needed a good vacuum 5. Lacking adequate pillows for the bed. 6. Aged Lighting Fixtures-Inadequate Lighting. 7. No outlets on or near night stand which is between the (2) beds.8. Mattress protector on the bed to the left nearest to the window appeared to be damaged. Checking for potential bedbugs. None found.9. Uncomfortable bedding. Coarse feeling to touch (Cheap Bedding) and appears to be soiled top bedding. Its the beige in color blanket. Refused to use. 10. The room needed a good dusting and wipe down. Photos to be attached if possible in this APP.In summary the price was fair in comparisons to the other hotels on Washington Avenue.Sufficient towels; one tiny round soap for the sink. No bath soap or other shower/bath shampoo, conditioner etc. However, in the future it would not be my 1st choice.
Nice front staff. Cute kitchenette style. Strong cigarette (or something else, unpleasant) smell in the halls. Uncomfortable spring mattress, ac units have a fan speed setting that apparently doesnt mean anything meaning even if you set the temperature to 60 it just turns off at night and its hot in the room, rust all over the bathroom, running toilet wasting a lot of water and making it fairly hard to sleep. Thin walls, I got to listen to the room next to mines tv and another room down the hall being generally loud. Overall pretty poor experience.
Used to be me and my familys favourite place to stay because of the kitchen. Ordered a new room one night that wasnt available. When I called priceline they said the hotel didnt have any two beds like I requested. They wanted.my kids to stay in a room with one bed that they didnt clean. Instead of just cleaning it the receptionist cam with her maid crew to question me if they offered to clean the room that day. They did but we declined because we were busy.and were planning on staying. She then proceeded to put me on the do not rent list to not look bad to her manager. It worked out in our favor priceline got us the room we requested at the Hilton next door. Faulty showers and equipment, they let animals and kids run around, and unprofessional when it comes to mistakes on their part. Really sad been loyal customers for almost a year and a half but one misunderstanding led to ban for life.
These are cute rooms with a full kitchen and desk setup. We were just staying because of the competitive price but these hotels are also perfectly suited for business travelers who will be in town for an extended time. The full fridge and oven are a great luxury while traveling and definitely make extended stays much more comfortable. Our room was quite clean and had a fresh smell, linens were clean, and everything we would expect from a hotel was present. I also stayed at this chain when on a business trip near Philadelphia. Both of my stays were pleasant and I plan to continue to use these hotels.
This is by far one of the most disgusting places I’ve ever stayed in. Bugs and ants everywhere. The bathroom was gross. I checked the sheets for bed bugs and thank god there were none but even the sheets were nasty. The whole hotel smelt awful. Ants were crawling on the walls and the ceiling. I leaned over in the night to drink water and there were three ants floating in there. We complained to the front desk and she pretty much said there’s nothing she can do (obviously because this is just how this hotel is in general.) didn’t try the breakfast honestly because I was afraid. I’ve stayed in many places. But don’t take your family here for sure.
Likely one of the worst Extended Stays Ive ever stayed in. Definitely will avoid ever staying here again. The smoke on the second floor was noxious and it managed to get into the room I was staying in. It made me feel nauseous and left my sinuses feeling raw after every nights sleep.
Horrible!Place is falling apart, leaky ceiling, damaged walls, card-keys dont work, dirty ceilings and walls, no supplies available (e.g., no drinking cups, no plates or pans, no utensils, etc.)Ice sidewalks are NEVER cleared. (My wife fell twice, getting from parking lot to door.Worse than that, this place is VERY insecure: some external doors do not lock and remain open, with strangers entering and wandering the halls all nite long.Management is unresponsive and obnoxious. If you complain, they call the police and try to throw you out!Im surprised this dump hasnt gone out of business long ago!
We only stayed for 5 days, so we had no housekeeping. If we wanted towels, we had to bring our dirty wet towels to the front desk. No smoke alarm. Poorly managed. Because we had a kitchen, we werent invited to the breakfast. Shower grip bars in the bathroom were very loose. Ceiling cracking. All of the sprinkler heads looked like they were going to come out of the celing at any time. The bathroom flooring was uneven to the spoint the two areas were standing up and not flat. You couldnt pay me a million dollars to stay there ever again.
We selected sight unseen through Priceline, no surprise and delight here. It was busy with people in town for extended work, but all was quiet on our floor. The rooms are in a definite need of a refresh and a bit of a better clean, but the bed linens were fresh and once you closed your eyes, you didnt notice the deficiencies of the room. We were only there one night for a wedding so it was fine as we werent looking for anything special.
To the women who helped me this morning (Sunday feb 23) at the front desk thank you so much for helping me. Your actually awesome. I have your charger back to the man after you. I got home and everything is good. This is also a great hotel, everything in the room was perfect, from toiletries to the bed sheets, to the paper towels folded into a V. Thanks guys
I do not recommend this hotel..... I work out of town a lot an stayed here housekeeping came in while I was gone to work went through all of my stuff and took what coins I had laying on the desk an never finished cleaning the room went I came in from work I had to go to the front desk and get my sheets and covers to make my bed before I could go to sleep.
Please be careful if you decide to book a reservation here. My wife and 8 years old son checked in, went to the room where three guys were still in the room. They made comments like now the party is going to start and others I would not say. My wife ran out of the place. The hotel refused to reimburse the funds. They double booked and put my family in a very uncomfortable and dangerous situation. Please be careful....
This was a very nice inexpensive motel to stay in. It was very clean with minimal amenities including coffee and muffins in the morning. The rooms have a small kitchenette with available dishes and pans that you can use, a full size fridge, a small island with two stools. The beds are comfortable. Would definitely stay here again and would like to look for other locations.
So I checked in on Tuesday July 28th, the woman who checked me in was very nice and efficient. Then around 5 am I called the front desk repeatedly for about 20 minutes, not only from the room phone(which was NOT working) but also from my personal cell with NO answer. So I went downstairs to speak to the front desk and it was a young woman who was VERY unprofessional and had a really bad attitude and a miserable disposition. She was agitated when I was simply asking about the WIFI. I even brought it to her attention that I noticed she was irritated with me and the way she was communicating was terrible. She really had no idea what she was doing or where anything was. It was very aggravating when I was trying to login for work. I then figured out the issue by myself and tried once again to call down to the front desk to let her know I had figured it out with no answer again!!
Was pretty disappointed with my stay a few nights ago.For starters, when I arrived with my daughter for check in on my 2 night reservation, I was told that the queen room I had pre-reserved was not available to me, and that I would be bumped over to a double room, but at no additional charge. I wasnt too pleased about that, but it was late, I was beat after being in the hospital all day and at that point i just wanted sleep. So I take the room, and when I get into it, there are broken light fixtures, a window that wont close completely, and a box of leftover trash left on the countertop. The following day, I receive my card statement and I see that Ive been charged $193 and some change, which amounted to $40+ more than what I was told would be due at check in. I had to wait until 3pm before I was finally able to speak with management who assured me that the $193 amount was in error and that I would be refunded that full amount, but that it would take 3 business days to take effect. At that time I stated that I wouldnt be staying the second night, to which I was met with apologies and told that I would only be charged $74 for the one evening stayed. I was completely fine with that, given the understanding that I was soon to be refunded the $193.Fast forward to today, I recieve another credit card statement for a THIRD amount, this time $96 and some change, charged and deducted from my account through this hotel. I called the hotel and gave my displeasure very directly to the manager who blamed the mysterious third charge on a new front desk hire and promised to refund that amount as well, total refund expectancy now totalling $289+.....mind you the original 2 night reserve price was only $155...so you do the math.As of this review I am still awaiting both refunds, the whole experience was an exhausting mess, and it goes without saying that I do not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.
Our stay here was awesome! Spacious, airy, clean and cozy room, nice view, the matress was super comfortable, the staff super friendly and hospitable! Hot water and heating system ✔! We had to stay a few more hours than we had arranged and we were told that we could stay another whole night for free!! Highly recommended! (Notice! its located far from the centre, there arent any places to eat nearby, for example. I had to Uber 9USD to find a place)
Poor Experience:They were overbooked, so I was deemed lucky for the two rooms that I got, which I reserved almost 10 days ago. Also, I booked rooms with queen beds and they gave me a king room because they didnt have any left and charged me extra which was totally unacceptable. Moreover, one of the rooms bathroom sink was clogged and didnt have pillows. After calling a couple of times at the front desk, no one answered.
I am here on business so I am suppose to get weekly housekeeping service. My service day is Friday but it is now Sunday at 4:07 pm and no housekeeping service yet. The manager and her assistants are all aware since Friday of my lack of service. The manager even came to my room because I also complained about the smell of WEED in my room. When i spoke with the assistant manager today she told me that she can only put me on the board but she cant tell the housekeeper when to clean what rooms...really so who is the boss ? I will be calling my company first thing Monday morning this is NOT acceptable.
Staff is pretty rude when anything is brought to their attention, there is literally no water pressure, and Ive probably had to change room keys 7 times in a week because they randomly stop working without warning. Seems very unorganized and the cleanliness is less than desirable.
Kitchen was not stocked as promised. Had to keep going to the desk to ask for things. Stayed for 4 days and no one ever came to clean the room, empty trash or provide fresh towels or linens. Constantly had to keep reverifying internet security logon in order to use internet. All smoking rooms were too far away from the only elevator on the premises making us have to take a non smoking room as one person in room was handicapped and could not walk far.
Best thing about this motel is that its cheap. Few amenities, though the laundry facilities are decent. All rooms have a kitchen area and pots/pans/dishes/silverware are available on request. The rooms are dated and uninspiring. Electrical outlets are weirdly placed. Kept my clothing in the suitcase because the inside of the drawers were a bit grody. Fitted sheets come undone immediately revealing stained mattress covers. Motel is conveniently located, right across the street from SUNY and NY State government offices.
Have stayed here several times, rooms are always clean & quiet, great a/c & heat systems, fridge, microwave etc. We recently had a bad experience checking into a different hotel and had to leave, luckily the Extended Stay had a vacancy for us, shoulda went there in the first place!
I made a reservation here and was told the hotel was overbooked... Not sure the hotel can be overbooked when I made a reservation... They have one room left but I was told the room had severe stains on the floor, which it did when I I was forced to take the room since it was the only one left. The lady at the front desk was very unapologetic and quite frankly was in pajamas and half asleep which I was baffled about. Wont be staying here again.
BEWARE! The whole hotel smelled like cigarettes (I didnt even think that was possible any more). The room and towels were dirty. The kitchen faucet was loose and dripped all night. The shower water whistled (it did get hot). Im always skeptical of people who write really bad reviews but now here I am. Continue at your own risk...
This place gives Extended Stay a bad name. I have stayed in a few dozen Extended Stays and this one is by far the worst. As soon as I walked in the front door I could tell they dont like to clean around here. My room has stains on every wall, paint bubbling up from water damage, shower curtain barely hanging on to the wall, stained carpet (normal for ES), dirty floors in the kitchen and bathroom (like turn your socks black), bar in kitchen falling apart, I could go on... My company has four rooms here and they are all bad. We are moving out!
Just an older hotel, rooms werent super clean, things need replaced. The cable was horrible even though updated tv. Though if looking for a full size fridge and little kitchen area, they have it. Also got A+ service from the manager Phil. Mario was awesome as well. Great friendly service from the staff.
Poor management Ive worked their as a housekeeping. I felt like I didnt have a voice it was no team work being displayed. The assistant general manager has his favorite. Never checked on his employees. Before I got their the rooms were not really cleaned properly as a housekeeper that worked in various hotels and hospital and nursing homes I would not recommend anyone to work or stay their period .what assistant general manager I know talks about his employees to another eemployees to another if anything a manger had issues with an employee they should of been directed privately not publicize. This place is the worst Ive ever worked at. Stay away .
Homely facilities, showing mild wear and tear. Very friendly staff. Surprisingly quiet at night given the hotels proximity to the interstate. Good water pressure and temperature in the shower. Great value overall. After his historic run for NY Governor, Larry Sharpe overnighted here after inaugurating the Albany County Libertarian Committees convention on June 16th, 2019.
Horrible my mother came for one day the pillows weren’t made up they were thrown on the bed. The pillows had no pillow cases I saw yellow spots. I had to get pillow with no pillow cases on them I had to put them on myself . I am highly disgusted the stairway smelled like cigarettes. There was one worker in the whole hotel that night to handle a fully bucked hotel. The telephones didn’t work.
Checked in around 7pm and got to ours rooms. my rooms air conditioner did not work there were pubuc hairs and piss stains in the bed. So they moved me to another room down the hall. I got to that room and it had not been cleaned and smelt very badly as if it hadnt been cleaned in a few days. Finally they got me a room that was decent but I was almost scared to sleep there. My bosses room was the same way as my first room. Pubuc hairs in the bed with stains all over the sheets and pillows. They moved him down the hall to another room that was a little better. Will never stay here again. Maybe not even another Extended Stay America. The next day we moved to the residence Inn down the road. it is alot! better. Dont stay here!
The ac was cold. That was the only good thing about it, other than the fact it was close to the Xway to get away fast. The bed smelled like pee. The shower wouldnt drain and apparently the water line was connected to every single toilet in the place. Everytime they flushed, the hot water went from scalding to ice cold. There was no one on staff to complain to.
Me & My wife checked in about a week ago we stayed at this hotel before and our housekeeper was rude a tall very light girl so we was hoping not to get her as our housekeeper again the next stay we had a lil short gurl Janey she said her name was she was very polite and respectful she made our stay there amazing she’s very friendly and nice I forgot to tip her I didn’t think she would get it if I left it and upon check out she wasn’t there very good team . She needs a raise We would definitely stay again if she can be our housekeeper .
Congratulations Extended Stay, my first 1-star rating. The fire alarm has gone off at least 6 times in 2 weeks. Several times there was no coffee or breakfast in the mornings. Every transient with a dog, a carton of cigarettes, a case of beer, and a pickup truck stays here.Stay at Crest Hill instead! If my boss books me in this hotel again, Ill refuse my assignment
Price was pretty cheap. Most of the time the rooms come with utensils, pot/pans, or glasses which mine did not. Not even a coffee machine or pot for ice. They wouldnt let me get a late checkout at 12 (Wednesday); their excuse was we have a lot to do today and a lot of people checking in. There was not any local events or conventions in the area, so Im unsure of why it was a busy day. The college wasnt starting classes until two weeks from now. Woman at the front desk had an attitude. Not very hospitable, all I have to say is New York people need to learn from Southerners what hospitality really means.
Bought motel through Priceline. It was listed as three star. Wow!! What a mistake!!! Walked in and saw a very small lobby with warn carpet, which caused us to wonder about the three star rating; but we figured this was not representative of the rooms. We went to our room, and the keys did not work. We got new keys and opened the door to a room that had not been cleaned since the last person was there--bed unmade, of course. We got a new room. Very modest--what one would expect from a very inexpensive hotel---a big burned area on the counter. I tried to access wi-fi on my computer. No indication of wi-fi available. I called the front desk and the very friendly and helpful person behind the desk (the one positive) was able to connect for me. Went back to the room and turned on the TV. No signal message. I again consulted the front desk woman, and she said they would check it out. They found the wires were disconnected. Very limited TV stations, and FOX News but no MSNBC. I am very disappointed with Priceline---bid on three star that was supposed to be comparable to motels listed with which I was familiar--very nice motels.
Room was good and staff was very accomodating. They let you have pets too. The breakfast wasnt that great. Some nature valley bars and muffins but the coffee was good. Had trouble connecting to WiFi but I called the WiFi hotline and got hooked up. Overall pretty good hotel.
One word; bedbugs. Staff was friendly and helpful, room was mediocre at best. There are several hotels nearby, I dont know which ones but youre better off going there. The Wi-Fi is slower than youre great grandmothers memory, unless you pay for the higher speed, which is 3mb/sec. Only about 18 channels on the tv, 4 of them are ESPN. Go somewhere else, this place sucks.
This extended stay is way past rough!! Water damage in the kitchen and bathroom (paint peeling)!! Stepped on the carpet going out of the kitchen and received a nail to the heel (from the carpet tack strip).. This is a very low star hotel .. walls have never been washed, and the hall smells like marijuana.. looking forward to leaving this hotel!!
This is really worst Hotel I ever been in ,nasty ,bed bugs ,strange people , it looks like no one works hereUpdate after staying again on different times different rooms its seems like theres updated rooms and other not so if you lucky and have the updated rooms its going to be fineThe staff is very helpful and friendly but this hotel need a lot of maintenance to keep up with the market I stayed on a lot of other extend stay America in different cities this one is lower than the other
Terrible, disgusting not only cleanliness of room but hospitality, customer service awareness especially within network of covid 19 first responders as shelters...such an amazing business converted into hood with filthy rooms and zero of the hygiene, sanitation after onlt being reopened for the business.
Horrible Horrible Horrible !!!! I Had to leave the second day and go to the hotel next door hallways smelt like smoke , tolliet broke in the middle of the night . The staff looked like they had a hangover from the night before . Front desk lady very polite a bit confused but polite. You also had to turn on the front stove burner for the back stove burner to work . I dont recommend.!
The staff was very unprofessional and they never gave us a discount and which we stayed there for over a month and they dont even have a full kitchen the only thing about about that place was the blond that works nights she is wonderful other then that this place is trash Im at another place and i love it here
Outside of the property was filthy. There was litter everywhere when we got there, and it was still there when we left. Our toilet was not cleaned, and our sheets had not been changed. Ill give it 3 stars because it could be worse for the price range, but a lot about the visit made me cringe.
Once we checked in to USA we went to Extended Stay of America. It is nice ambiance and the receptionist are very please and comfort to speak. Rooms are good and neat. Only thing is the hotel is vry old but we cant find the same. Near by bus stop also there to reach down town Albany. From here we may take the bus route 117 and 190 to reach crossgates mall and colonie station.
Disgusting, they used my debit card to pay for a room weeks after i checked in and paid in full through a third party website. There is fraud being committed in this hotel and the gm MARIO is doing nothing to fix it. Do not trust them with any of your information until there is a new General Manager
Better hide your stuff and hide it good, theres some workers here with super sticky fingers who will take your belongings. Went through the drawer of my nightstand through my stuff and helped themselves. All youll get from the managers is nothing short of oh well Definitely not staying here again.
For a quick easy place to stay its great. Just as good as most other hotels Ive seen. Convenient to be close to UAlbany if youre visiting a student. Right by the bus line to downtown Albany or Crossgates mall. Prices are fantastic, and even though some of the interior is a little rustic, it is overall a clean place.
Checked in this so called hotel, despite of the comments. Should have known better. I checked in, walked in my room and the smell of urine was so strong, that I could not spend another minute there. I checked out and spent a little extra in a neighboring hotel and was quite content. Will never return to these types of hotels
I stayed their for a week and half with my husband while he worked in the area..worst experience in my life and we stay at many hotels throughout the united states...The manager was very rude and disrespectful..she acted as if she was entitled and above everyone..never in my life have I ever felt so disrespected..she says one thing then renigs on it then when you question her she starts talking to you like you dont have any intelligence after she repeats herself constantly and doesnt answer it..I would never recommend this place because of her..shes a middle aged Indian woman..you dont believe me go ahead and book a room..I guarantee youll see..I had other guests tell me she treated them the same way
One of the poorly run hotels of the chain. Hotels like this one do real damage to Extended stay reputation. Every room smells of smoke (hello, partying guys from Albany College!), carpets are dirty, no housekeeping, even though I stayed for a week, rooms are older and less kept.
DO NOT STAYHORRIBLETHE BED WAS LOADED WITH URINE STAINSPubic hair AND GOD KNOWS WHAT elseShower does not work the light sounds like a bug zapper light food and drink stains all over the placeThe place smells so bad it turns your stomachAlso the place is littered with drug addicts bumming money and cigs they even have a sigh out side to lock your car and take your valuables RUN AWAY RUN FAR FARAWAY KEEP YOUR DIGNITY BECAUSE THEY PLACE WILL STEAL IT FROM YOU
Location is very convenient right off the thruway, rooms are a nice size with a kitchen, front desk was fairly helpful although receptionist was not too enthusiastic about helping, found a bug crawling in one of our beds and had to switch rooms, over all cleanliness is not too great but also not the worst Ive ever seen.
The absolute worse hotel Ive ever stayed at ..The place is in disrepair, gave me a uncleaned room .. I had booked a queen bed was given 2 full size instead and when I complained the solution was i could leave and be refunded my money. They could care less about there guests ..STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2022-02-15Ok hotel stayed for only one night. Check-in was quick and staff very friendly. The room however was dirty it looked as if someone dyed their hair in the tub with black stains, dirt behind bathroom door. Was affordable though so I wasnt expecting anything spectacular.

2022-03-31I am one week into my stay at Extended Stay America - Albany - SUNY and can honestly say that I am enjoying my stay and am very comfortable. Check-in was a breeze and Shilynn at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. On arrival, the room was clean, appliances in working order, the bed sheets were clean and neat and the bed is very comfortable. Everyone on staff here has been very friendly and helpful and have expressed their desire to ensure that my stay is a pleasant one. 2022-03-12I travel for work and this was one of the best experience I’ve had. The room was so clean, and the prize was so affordable. I did a research before I booked this room and it was one of the best options in the area. The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and welcoming.I would highly recommend it! Will be back soon!

2022-06-14Unprofessional employees and district manager who is a where of the properly trained front desk managers and employees there are only 4 people who work there that are capable of running the business but between a manager shilynn and her sister souvenir and the security guard Raheem and the district manager Adam they all done need to be employed but this establishment between the unprofessional job ethic and demeanor towards guest its like they are not even at work which is sad 1395 Washington Ave The Exstayed Stay is horrible

2022-01-05All of the staff were very kind and attentive in listening to my concerns and assisted me with taking care the issues. I empathized with Gabbie the GM regarding COVID adjusting the business presently and being able to move forward and provide the service we have come to appreciate with the Extended Stay America chain. Extended Stay America has been my favorite since my first stay in Alameda California in 2005. I will continue to use the chain going forward.

2021-12-11Great and friendly staff. Room was overdue for some repairs and paint. Smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, so bad that I would consider changing rooms or hotels. Traveling with a pet its not worth the hassle. Otherwise the room was clean enough to stay in... Bed sheets and towels smelled and looked clean.
