Liz at New Paltz Extra Space Storage offered friendly and knowledgeable service and went out of her way to explain the policies & procedures and worked to help my storage experience to go without a glitch! I have used Extra Space several times and the property in New Paltz is the BEST!
This is absolutely not the place to store your stuff. Unless you want to completely to be completely ripped off. There needs to be a law in place to stop what is happening at extra space storage in new Paltz. We moved our stuff there in October of 2020. 3 months after we moved it there. They raised our rate from $255 to $310. We just received a notice that they will be raising our rate to $390. That all in a year. They know…that all the space in the area are full. So….they have decided that is great time to take advantage of people as we all recover from a world wide pandemic. This is great way to take advantage of people. Gouge them while they are hurting. BrutalI’ll be contacting the consumer protecting agency to notify them of what type of buisness model they have going on here.THEY DID AGAIN. RAISED MY RATE ANOTHER $100/month THIS INSANE …someone is going to need. To stand up up again it’s the extra space business model… everybody sll smiles when you move your stuff in. Because they know they are going to screw you once they have all your stuff moved in. From $270 to $470 in less then 2yrs. I couldn’t move my stuff out. Now I have no choice. … but they don’t care. Profits over everyone. Stay away unless you plan on moving your stuff in 3 months
Extra space Storage it’s a wonderful experience! The storage area was clean and very easy to access. The associates were very helpful and accommodating, any questions or concern they were right on it. Knowledgeable and very friendly. Thank you for being so Help full!

Extra space storage New Paltz is one of the cleanest and well served storage unit facilities I’ve been too. The facility was Well kept and the staff member immediately pointed us to where we needed to go for our job.
The storage space was clean and dry. The office staff was extremely friendly and easy to work with. Access was easy and secure .... and the facility even provided a nice combination lock with the unit (easy to set your own combination). Excellent service.

Very nice storage facility. Good location just outside of New Paltz. Clean, neat, safe, well-lighted. All different sized units. I like that it is limited entry with huge gates and fences, and video cameras. Accessible 24/7 with code and key. The attendant is also super nice. A little bit expensive.
Clean and easy storage units. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. These units were dust free, easy to access, and I had no worries about safety given the on grounds staff members and key code entrance with gates. 100% recommend this place!

From day one both Chris and Bren have been wonderful. We thought originally that a 5×10 would be big enough but explained shortly after that we may need a bigger unit when one became available. Within a few days we were able to obtain a bigger unit which was almost directly across from our old unit and transferring everything was so easy! They also took the time to listen to our stories about whats going on in our life and truly treated us as friends rather than just customers. I love this place as theyre so friendly and the facility is easy to access and very clean! Thank you again!

Chris was great! He was very patient with me as he helped me figure out which size unit would be best for my stuff. He was super friendly when my credit card changed and I had to update my payment info. And when I came back 2 months later to empty the unit, he remembered where I was moving to and why. Great customer service, great price. (The only minus... When its cold and windy some of the units at the end of the property feel a bit extra so. Bring a hat! ;)

Stopped at the storage bin early one morning after a big snow storm, my box truck immediately got stuck in the driveway. The two employees came right out and didn’t hesitate to help me shovel a 20 foot path to get my truck out. Can’t thank them enough. This place is always clean and the people are professional and very nice. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I priced other storage facilities in New Paltz (this is our second time using Extra Space). The storage units are very clean, highly competitive rates and very friendly staff eager to help. Brenliy is a pleasure! She is always cheerful, addresses my husband and me by our first names, talks with us to build a relationship and makes our experience enjoyable. Shes helped us with referrals on our attempts to donate things we no longer need, movers, etc. Chris has also helped us these past few months. Highly recommend as this is a commodity business, this one offers the best experience.

I recently rented out a unit for personal use for the first time ever. My first positive experience was with the online booking platform. I was able to peruse the different units they had without the pressure of having to decide immediately. Once I picked the right one for me, I booked the reservation and shortly after received an unexpected pleasant call from the assistant manager, Keith Arnold. He went above and beyond meeting my expectations for a storage unit facility with his welcoming demeanor and positive attitude. Despite being the only staff on board currently, Keith was able to accommodate my specific needs better than the website could! I thoroughly recommend the use of this facility, especially if Keith is still in charge!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Chris the Assistant Store Manager helped me transfer to another unit when I realized I initially ordered a unit that was too small. Would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking to rent a storage unit. And easy access off I-87 too!
The team at the New Paltz facility are amazing!!! Keith and Bren are the best!!! They are professional, very knowledgeable about the units and rentals procedures, friendly and extremely funny. They even held my unit longer than they should have due to some unforeseen financial and family issues. I felt like I was with family instead of 2 strangers throughout the rental process. I will recommend this facility to any and every one who needs a storage unit. Not just because the facility is local and the price is great...but because of the genuine friendliness and warming atmosphere Keith and Bren showed.
My family has used Extra Space Storage in New Paltz for many years. Its conveniently located and a reliable and safe place to store anything, including items that require temperature controlled space.
I needed a place for a few months until I knew where I would be living. I never used a storage facility before. I called several but chose Extra Space as they explained all fees and costs the clearest. I also found the entire facility to be in good repair, clean, and I like the fact there is a restroom for customers to use.All staff I interacted with were great, including Keith today as I was clearing out, they were all friendly and offered great service.I will return should I need to store items again.
Ive stored things here before which is why I came back. Always clean, easy to access location. First time in this time my entry code didnt work, the guy in the office was very helpful and quickly straightened it out.

Keith was amazingly helpful and positively radiated efficiency. EZ-pay kept me on track each month and the facility itself is well-lit, well-maintained and has very good security. I found the fact that they had an amazingly clean bathroom available for renters to be an added bonus if I was working in my unit for any time :-). I will definitely rent here again. Extremely expensiveUnits aren’t well kept or clean.Highly would recommend finding another storage space. This establishment is a bunch of scam artists. They raise the rates, charge a ridiculous amount for insurance.

10/10. I have been traveling the county, making the most of my young life when I found THE storage unit. Never have I ever obtained such a good storage box MWAH *chefs kiss* . This truly is the pinnacle of storage units.

As a customer for the past two years, I have had only good experiences with the office staff. Responsive, friendly, dependable, efficient. The customer-service is great. Each staff person there has had a great attitude toward customers,and I attribute that to the management and training provided by Elizabeth, their manager. Totally professional.
I just got a unit recently so i can’t say much about my experience yet but so far, it’s been great. I moved units from where i used to go to school and I had some issues with pests but this place offers insurance for cheap and they sound pretty convincing that they’ll be supportive through any future issues!

He was extremely helpful,very informative about the facility. That was a huge help because in the winter I need to store my car & now I dont have to look any further. He is also patient and took the time to show me different size units so I was comfortable with my decision. He wasnt acting as a sales person. He showed he cared. Paperwork was quick and easy, facility is big, secure and very clean. The price you cant beat either. All around I couldnt of picked a better place to do business with!

Competitive pricing, easy to set up. I didn’t expect it to be so easy. Chris is great, he set me up with everything and touched base with me after. Everything was “contactless” because of the pandemic which is really conscientious of them.
The experience was quick and easy. Very reasonable prices even on locks and boxes! The girls loved the golf cart ride too! The attendant was very helpful and friendly.

We have had a great experience with this facility - the staff is friendly and professional and the facility is clean. Best of all, they accept packages and we have been taking full advantage of that feature as we store up furniture and supplies for a new house in the area. Nono has been especially helpful, from getting us set up, to accepting REALLY heavy packages for our unit, even helping us sweep up broken glass when we dropped something in the unit. I highly recommend it.

Over you I have been a satisfied customer of Extra Space Storage in New Paltz New York. Recently we switch to a bigger Unit and the staff at the facility was very accommodating.I certainly will recommend them to anyone needing things to be stored.
Every time I deal with this office, I work with Keith, and he is great. I live in Singapore and so rarely make it there but in the last three months Ive called once and had a lock cut off in person once, and Keith was the man for me both times.
Keith helped me out big time. I was in a jam with a divorce, needed space NOW, and I was able to move my stuff immediately. I can get there at odd hours, the grounds are always spotless, and he gave me advice that saved me money for moving out. 5 stars.
This is my first time renting and BrenLie was so awesome. She made me and my boyfriend feel super comfortable & she was really knowledgeable about everything. I love how detailed she was with all the information too. I really love this place and reccomend for anyone’s rental needs!

My review of 5 stars used to say friendly management and hassle free storage. They are crooks. I used to pay $200 a month. A year later, they started charging me $252 without saying #$%@. Now I just found out they charged me $300 for two months! Once the weather gets better, I will move my stuff elsewhere. While does that? Real a@@holes!

Extra Space what a Great Place !! I started storing here a while ago and I have been Very Pleased with the unit I rent and with the Excellent Customer Service I get from the store manager Elizabeth. She has gone above and beyond to make sure everything is always the best it can be. My kids call her Aunty Elizabeth and always look forward to seeing her as I do.
The service was wonderful and the office is beautiful! The restroom is so clean I was afraid that I might drip soap and make a tiny mess. I have helped friends to move their belongings into units and everyone has always been satisfied. Thank you!

I stopped by to pay my bill this past Friday and drew a total blank on my storage unit number. BrenLie remembered my name & storage unit before I could look it up on my phone. Now that’s a manager that knows her business inside and out.Definitely the only bill I look forward to paying every month. Thank you!
I have had a storage unit with Extra Space for the past 3+ years. They have been very easy to work with and I would like to say the new Manager Keith is professional, polite and a pleasure to work with.Keep up the good work Keith and Extra Space.
Absolutely disgusting service. We had a leak in our unit, we made a complaint to the site manager, he watched us empty out a bucket of water that had been coming in from the ceiling. He used a broom to sweep water out the front of the unit as it was puddled up because there are no gutters. He assured us that he would have the unit looked at and repaired. Considering his role, as a manager, we had assumed what he was saying was being done, however, this was not the case. He had never notated the account, never made a complaint or put in a note for repair... so when we removed all of our belongings that were covered in mold, we were then told to contact the insurance company, but now, the insurance company has no notations to reference and we are at an absolute LOSS. We lost a set of furniture, all of our mattresses, and all of our kitchen appliances and tools. I took pictures and sent them in however we were denied by the insurance company. There have been repairs made on the building since but they will not disclose when and where. A well run business would know what units were improved upon. Now, we have paid 10k for the units and likely another 5k to replace all of our damaged items. Im very dissatisfied. Im very disappointed. Seeking legal counsel and contacting the Better Business Bureau. 0 stars. Better off burning your belongings and getting new ones. Also be aware of the price increases, youll love thoseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I cant speak to the cost of these units because I dont own one personally, but cleanliness and security and high. The indoor ones are mildly heated and I do know there is an optional insurance you can buy for your unit but dont have to

My wife and I recently stored our things here for a very short time.The locker was clean, safe and with enough light. We had no issues when we moved in or when we moved out.The best part was the customer service provided by Keith and BrenLie. if you need to store anything in the New Paltz area go to this place . You wont be disapointed!

We needed storage for our daughter who attends Suny New Paltz. It was last minute and we were stressed out. Beth was able to accommodate us. Beth was very friendly and attentive and in under 15 minutes she had a space for us. I am very happy to find this place and looking forward to doing business with her for the next 3-4 years!
We went to Extra Space under bad circumstances, we had to leave our apartment from a broken water pipe. We were under great stress, and Brenlie Vargas was most helpful and efficient. We were able to get our non-destroyed belongings into a spacious unit, which Ms. Vargas helped us choose. It was perfect! Security at the site is complex and phenomenal; we were called when we had incorrectly and unsuccessfully locked our unit. There was only one small issue at one point, and Keith Arnold quickly resolved it. We are now in our new place, and closing out was easy and quick. Ms. Vargas was as helpful at our departure as she was upon our arrival. Our experience in trying times was quite pleasant, and I would instantly suggest and refer New Paltzs Extra Space to anyone in need of a storage facility or services. *****
I have been using Extra Space for the past few summers being between NYC and New Paltz. There are always helpful compassionate people working there!One person I would like to highlight from my most recent experience at Extra Space is Brenlee. She was very personable, and grew up in the city, so she understood the struggles. Whenever I had a question or concern, Brenlee was there to help along the way.One of the most impactful moments for me was the day I was moving out in 2018. After packing all of my things, my cousin and I were ready to head out. When we put in the code, the gate was not being responsive. After trying the code about 20 times, we thought we would be trapped there for the weekend. Another vehicle was behind us and their code was not seeming to work either. It was Sunday and the office was not open. I decided to call the Extra Space 1888 Number for help. The codes I was given were not overriding the gate either. :(As we sat in the car planning what to do. We heard a voice. It wasnt the people in the vehicle behind us. When I got out the car, there was Brenlee! Who would have knows shed be here just at the right time. We explain the situation to her. After trying all the codes we knew, she told us to wait just a moment. She went over to the system controlling the gate and worked some magic! BOOM! The gate opened up and we were free!Talk about a lasting impression! Thank you so much!
Amazing customer service... happy, welcoming, helpful service. My move in was easy. The facility is convenient, clean, and attractive. Before I moved in I read some of the other reviews of this place and thought they were exaggerating, but no... it really is that great an experience - surprise!
Site manager Keith has provided a exceptional customer service as I was renting a unit for my college student, but I am not local. He made the process easy-peasy, and is very knowledgeable and helpful.
I am writing this because these days it is an anomaly in this world to walk into an uber clean store, be greeted soooo nicely by a professional and recieve such excellent customer service!Welcome to Extra Space Storage in New Paltz!I was there yesterday to purchase some boxes for my upcoming move. When we walked in we were greeted immediately, very cheerfully and professionally by Keith Arnold, the Assistant Manager. He brought out our boxes and had some bubble wrap in his hand and I told him that he read my mind! He then asked me at the display what size I would prefer, the larger bubbles or the smaller bubbles? I said the smaller. Keith said, Here you go!... it was the one in his hand! Keith said, I try to think ahead and offer customers what I think I would need.Keith offered up some great advice and that prompted me to buy some additional products.Keith keeps the store squeaky clean and beautiful, very aware of his surroundings. He is wonderful, very polite & very thoughtful...all while being the quintessential professional! He is an incredible asset to the Extra Storage Space company! Just finished a Big day of moving and organizing which got a big save by Elizabeth at Extra Space storage in New Paltz NY. At the last minute, I realized that i would need a storage space to protect a bunch of equipment from the weather. That last minute call went smooth and easy with Elisabeth being friendly and informative. And, the space was open, clean, ready and waiting for me when I arrived. All done midday on a Saturday.A pleasure to do business with.
Renter Beware!!!!!!!!!!I have rented in this location now for 3+ years and over the last 12 months the location has raised my rental fees over 50%. In April 2019 they raised rent from $130 to $149 which seemed reasonable after a few years. Last week I received a communication that they would once again within 10 months raising the fee from $149 to $209 an increase of 40%. I asked what capital improvements they must be planning for the increase and was told NOTHING. Wait it gets better.When I spoke with the manager he told me it was due to local market conditions. I pulled up 5x10 climate controlled units just like I have in Newburgh, Kingston, Beacon, Peekskill and Poughkeepsie all the rates ranged from $109 to $149. When I informed the manager he told it was to a specific market, I guess that must just be New Paltz as all these locations are within 15-30 miles from there. So make sure you get all the rate quotes and future increases before you sign with them.
Brenlie, the store manager in New Paltz, is so amazing and sweet, she helped me out so much, even with an oncoming tornado! What a day. This is the second time Im using Extra Space and Ive never had a poor experience!
I am old customer of the Exstra Space Storage. The capacity of the storage is huge. And believe me Ms. Elizabeth BonFiglio was the best store manager i have ever seen. With her assistance we always find the best storage for my stuff, even for my car which i care a lot. I wish all of the storage managers would be as nice as she is. The Extra Space Storage is one of the safest storages i have been actually. Thank you for everything guys.

I just moved here to New Paltz and I was looking for a place to put my items that I had no room for in my new home. I happen to come across your facility and so I stopped in, I was helped by a woman named Elizabeth Bonfiglio. I have never used storage before so I will have to admit I was clueless. Elizabeth sat with me and took all my information down and explained to me all my options. We then went for a tour of the property, Elizabeth showed me all the sizes that she thought would work for me and we found the perfect one. I not only rented the unit but I was blown away by her AMAZING customer service skills. Thanks Elizabeth for all your help, I could not have done all this without you...
The mgr, Elizabeth Bonfiglio, is more than simply capable- she is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable about her industry. Never planned to be a lifer as probably with most clients, but she almost makes it a pleasure to pay that monthly bill. ES would be wise to elevate her to a position of training employees to be managers, or simply good employees. If she is not currently receiving a fair wage she should be snatched up by a rival company who can recognize and acknowledge her worth.
I am a student at SUNY New Paltz and my friends and I use this facility twice a year.. We always look forward to seeing Elizabeth because she has the best candy!! The prices are awesome and we know our items are being protected by her.

My experience at Extra Space Storage has been fantastic. My after-hours phone call was returned first thing the next morning with courtesy and warmth by a real live human being, which secured my business. When I came in person to view the site, Nono (nickname) showed me as many options as I wanted to see, with time for all my questions. Then he made the bureaucratic sign-up process, which would normally be a boring chore, easy and fun. When I bungled the lock, he noticed right away and alerted me. Observant, efficient, good-humored, supportive, clear and fully human: customer service does not get any better than this. In addition to saying yes yes to the wonderful help from Nono, the facility overall is clean, professional and safe.

I have been a customer here for 5 years and have never had a single issue!! The location is great and convenient !! But the manger Elizabeth is amazing and very informative and Pleasant! And very quick if anything is needed with service!
Left recently and am kicking myself for not doing so years ago. They endlessly raise rates several times a year with the only justification given being were on a schedule. What started as a $165 a month rate increased to $330. When I called to question this, I was told the market rate on that unit is $370. Total Nonsense. I moved into another local facility and am paying $160 a month for the same size unit. Shop around, do NOT do business with Extra Space unless you enjoy being ripped off.

My unit flooded with water from both the ceiling and the floor, both of which I see as the facilitys responsibility. If you dont want your belongings to be ruined by water damage, I would not rent here.

I have been storing belongings at ESS/New Paltz for some time now - four years? (time flies) and from day one it has been a pleasant experience. I was lucky that first day to encounter manager ElizaBeth BonFiglio, who gave us a tour, showed us spaces and then executed all the paperwork. To this day ElizaBeth continues to take care of me! She is super professional, super kind and always on top of it. ElizaBeth is a huge part of why I feel my things are safe and secure at ESS. (I should add that all the other staff members at ESS are good too; I just havent interacted with them much.)

2022-06-23They do try to get you to review the place right after you move in. Smart move. Hence a lot of good reviews. What they wont tell you is that your rent will go up MASSIVELY after a few months. In my case I moved in at a rate of $81/month (5x10 non climate controlled). A few months later the rate jumped from $81 to $153...one time jump. That is completely ridiculous at best and feels rather predatory to me. Needless to say Ill be moving out. I have the luxury of doing so. Other people get trapped in these situations with nowhere to go. Thats when you get a storage auction.... Really a terrible way to run a business. Meanwhile, my unit, if I were renting new, is still available for a mere $88. Really disgusting business practice...

2022-04-11I most often never leave reviews on experiences, but I have to take a moment and LYK that my experience today finding a unit and interaction with Brenlie was excellent. I simply set out to find a place that I could store some things while transitioning from house to house, but this became the highlight and delight of my day. I witnessed her pausing for moments to help other customers and she couldn’t have been more amazing, and I saw how that made the other ppl feel in that moment. It was an extremely great experience, all while just getting a Storage unit it became a moment to share and a highlight.

She met all of my obstacles and challenges with grace and humor and really knows her stuff. I’m excited to work with her again with different clients.
