Bring a mask with a nose wire -- I was fogging up my own glasses and the machinery.I scheduled an appointment online, which was super easy (and not a long wait). My appointment was just for a standard eye test, refreshed prescription. Justin greeted me, took temp, answered questions about their eyewear and was all around lovely. Theyre very careful about COVID-19 and cleanliness, etc. Dr. Rogerson was probably my favorite eye doctor to date. She explained things simply and matter-of-fact (including what the machines do and test for, which my curious brain appreciates), and provided lots of information.They have a wide selection of frames, including many in the bougie / trendy category. And though Im not in the market for new frames right this minute, Justin took a note of my favorites in my file, which was a nice touch and will be helpful for the future.I was in and out in about 50 minutes, including initial paperwork, exam, lots of questions, payment and some perusing.
I popped in here for a repair to an old pair of sunglasses. The staff was so helpful and kind and the space is beautiful! They offer so many lovely styles of glasses and sunglasses. Highly recommend supporting this local business!
Highly recommend. Really liked how helpful and informative they were with all parts of my appointment. I learned more about my eyes and contact lenses than I had at any previous eye doctor and Ive been wearing contacts since the mid-90s. They also have a great selection of frames and Im super happy with the choice I made. If you are in the market for a new optometrist (or even if you are not) check them out - you will not regret it!

This is an amazing place! Beautiful rustic interior…Dr. Rogerson is wonderful as is her assistant Jason. Super caring people and an amazing set of stylish and modern designer eyeglasses to choose from. Can’t say enough! Five stars!!!
Long story short, this place is a 10 out of 5, would recommend 1000% to anyone looking for thorough care and attention to getting not just a careful prescription for your vision but also fantastic customer care and frame selection!Dr. Rogerson was very thorough in trying to get the best vision possible for my eyes. My right eye has some bad history and for the last few years hasnt really been seeing much or aiding my vision. We did a lot of the regular 1 or 2 testing but I also did some other comparisons Ive never done before - like the black letters on red vs green backgrounds. They also have other eye health check up services like the glaucoma check and a retina scan! On top of all the good health care and explanations, Dr. Rogerson is super nice and friendly. Thanks to her I can see better than I have in years out of both eyes and for that I am so very grateful.As someones whos worn glasses since early grade school, I remember glasses frame selection kind of fun but just like a pick and go experience. However this was like being at Saks Fifth with a personal shopper and stylist! Justin was fantastic in frame selection - you pick whatever you want to try plus he will select a few as well. We actually wound up picking frames he recommended! Their frames brands are all independent eyewear, they even carry the Masunaga line. The final adjustments for your glasses that Justin does also makes the biggest difference for fit and feel. All my things were packed up nicely including some anti-fog wipes in a cute eco friendly Eyes on Hudson tote, which I love.I actually came here on the recommendation of my mom, who happened to have contact lenses to pick up when I had my appointment. They put her contacts in a nice bag and made sure I picked it up on the way out, with regards to my mom. Little nice details like that are often overlooked but when present make the biggest difference.Last but certainly not least, my appointments were in 01/2021 meaning peak COVID pandemic. They have easy simple online appointment booking with consideration for social distancing. Dr. Rogerson and Justin were both thorough with their sanitation. All the equipment was wiped down before arrival and right before use. We all wore masks the whole time as well.I am not local to NY (as I primarily live in CA) but am strongly considering coming here once a year to get the quality care and friendly fun they have at Eyes on Hudson!
I am writing this seeing more clearly than I have in all my 36 years.I have been to many optometrists (at least 10) and have finally found the one that I will be returning to - and making sure everyone I know (in person and on the internet) goes there too.Dr. Rogerson took the time to ask me questions and run tests that no other doctor has ever done. I now have glasses with a prism (which no one had ever told me about before) and feel like a new person. Justin was a gem helping me pick out frames from a selection of brands I had not seen before that were fairly priced and totally chic. Then he showed up with an itemized report of how my insurance would work with what I selected so there were no surprises or gotchas later. When I went to pick up my frames, they were literally perfect. Perfect fit - another thing that has never happened to me before.Also, must be said, the vibe and ambiance (exposed wood, record player spinning, super clean, fab neon logo) are a true homage to all that is great about the River Towns.If you are still reading (and I hope you are), here is the short story (that maybe I should have started with) - Best. Optometrist. Best. Experience. Go there.

2022-06-30I went because Eyes on Hudson looked like they would (a) not be like the rushed, corporate shops Ive usually gone to, (b) care about eye health, and (c) have a good selection of contemporary, attractive frames. My expectations were more than met. The relaxed, friendly, positive staff run a shop that actually feels calm and pleasant. And the eye exam from the doctor was the most comprehensive, best-explained one Ive had anywhere. I felt like the doctor wasnt just running through a few quick tests, but rather was looking closely and thinking carefully to make sure everything about my eye health and vision was in good shape. And she made sure I understood my eye situation clearly and what my options are. I look forward to buying more eyeglasses there.

2021-11-29Best optometrist and eyeglass shopping experience Ive ever had. Dr. Rogerson is thorough, caring and goes above and beyond to answer questions, making the eye exam process easy and enjoyable. Justin is fantastic, really listens to what youre looking for and has a great eye for what frames fit your face. Their glasses selection is also beautifully curated and the most unique Ive ever seen.

2021-01-06Had a great experience getting an eye exam and picking out new glasses at Eyes on Hudson. Dr. Rogerson gave me a very comprehensive exam and my prescription is spot on! Justin showed the patience of a saint helping me find the right frames.All-in a wonderful experience in their fantastic new space. So conveniently located in Dobbs, in a section of downtown with easy street parking. Their safety protocols are also first rate. Already looking forward to returning for any and all optical needs.

2021-10-31I highly recommend Eyes on Hudson. Dr. Rogerson is an outstanding doctor of optometry who takes great care to provide a truly comprehensive eye exam for her patients. She is a calm, clear and knowledgeable communicator and her exam room set up is modern, clean, welcoming and state of the art. I was so long overdue for a check up, and came in with specific concerns about my eye health in addition to updating my vision prescription. Dr. Rogerson addressed all of my vision concerns, and suggested some strategies and solutions that immediately improved the problems I was experiencing from heavy computer/screen time at work. Justin Landon, the licensed optician, made my fitting for occupational progressives so easy and enjoyable and precise in terms of the fit. Justin also completed my insurance paperwork and could not have been more accommodating. The optical shop is a beautifully designed space, with lots of great inventory, and it was a truly personalized experience, which is so rare to find. I traveled a distance to Dobbs Ferry because I was familiar with Dr. Rogerson from her prior practice in the city. So glad I made the trip. Highly recommended!

2021-05-16I am so grateful for Eyes on Hudson! I went on a whim to see if they could fix my prescription sunglasses, the temple fell off and I couldnt find a small enough screw. While I was waiting I looked around the impeccably designed store, beautiful wood working, a posh rustic vibe, full of gorgeous eyeglass frames! Justin was able to fix my sunglasses and made my day! All in all a wonderful experience, I will definitely be going back for my next pair!

2021-08-01I have been struggling with poor eyesight for most of my life - so I’ve been to a lot of eye doctors. This place is by far the best. They have top of the line equipment, knowledgeable doctor and great staff. I usually get a bit anxious before an eye doctor appointment, but in this case I’m looking forward to the next visit. I would absolutely recommend!

2021-05-25I stopped by today for help fixing my RayBan sunglasses. Justin was courteous, professional, helpful, and informative while assessing the damage. He was able to fix the glasses in a few minutes and they look good as new. Thank you Eyes on Hudson!
