I like this hotel. The service was generally great. I had one small issue in my room. When I addressed it with the front desk, they quickly resolved it and apologized for the inconvenience. I appreciated their quick resolution and willingness to correct the issue! That doesn’t happen as often as it should anymore! They have hot breakfast items again. They even offer vegetarian sausage upon request! I’ll be back to this hotel.
The staff is what made this stay great. Unfortunately they informed me that the water would be turned off at 8am the next morning and we had already paid for the room. So we had to get up early along with all the other hotel guests and get showered and leave. The front desk ladies were very polite and apologetic about it. The room was very clean, the only issue being the body wash container was empty in the shower. I didnt have time to ask for more before the water was turned off so it was a mute point. The beds were comfortable and the room smelled clean.
I enjoyed my stay at this location. My room 425 had a tub and I enjoyed the ability to soak or shower. The staff was accommodating and the location was in between Dennys and Cracker Barrel. No concerns with food options if the Grab n Go breakfast was not enough. Lastly, I would recommend that management would arrange to have the tree limbs and leaves trimmed from around the signage at the entrance by the SEFCU. Because the property sits back from the main road, it would be vital to have guests know where to turn.
Have stayed at this hotel a number of times but this time I was a little disappointed. My room was neat and clean but it smelled like a locker room. Breakfast was usually decent but this time there wasn’t much to choose from. Not sure if that was because of the bus loads that we’re staying there. I will probably stay there again because of the convenient location.
We had a suite which gave us room to spread out and have some family stop by for a chat. It was very clean and quiet, being at the end of the hallway. Parking was ample. The gym was well-equipped and the hot breakfast was welcome - some muffins would have been nice but there was enough to eat and drink as it was.
Not the best Fairfield I’ve stayed at. First impression: checked in around 10pm. Parking lot was well lit, lobby seemed decent, front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. Headed to my room. Elevator had a strong, unpleasant disinfectant odor. Hallway outside my room had large stains. The room: Stepping into my room I was met with the same strong, unpleasant, disinfectant odor. Sink outside the bathroom - not my favorite but whatever. Toilet/shower area quite cramped with visible rusting and sagging peeling caulking. Coffee maker was old style filter bag tray thing and powdered creamer. Morning: as with many places during the pandemic this was limited. Coffee wasn’t great and there were no lids. Waited at the front desk for about 10 minutes before anyone came to assist. Remainder of the stay:Key card reader at side entrance near where I parked wasn’t working. Same unpleasant disinfectant odor in elevator. Stains in hallway remained for the week - maybe they are permanent? Final impressions:My card was authorized more than once and for more than my reservation amount. Between the authorizations, credits taxes, fees etc the bill becomes overly complicated and difficult to tell at a glance if I did indeed pay what I was told I would when I made the reservation. Conclusion: I am unlikely to stay here again if in the area. I choose the Marriott brand because I expect a premium experience chain. This wasn’t that. Oh and watch out for the pothole on your way out.
Have stayed at the hotel multiple times on travels between Northern Ohio and Boston. The hotel has always been very clean and well maintained, until this last stay.Walls are showing wear from luggage hitting them and carpets are looking a bit worn and dirty in places. The worse issue was less maintenance than cleaning attention. Around the base of our room’s toilet was a previous guest’s pee splattered all over. Pretty disgusting. The rest of the room was in good, clean condition.I’ll attempt to attach a picture.
We got a double Queen side bed room - non smoking for one night. To start, there was trash under the beds( water bottles, used mask, coffee cups, and more), food in the fridge, we even found a sock left behind by the previous guest. There was no shampoo and very little conditioner in the bathroom. I called the front desk to ask if the room has been cleaned before us, but the front desk person failed to address the issues. The amenities listed an outside pool, but the pool has not been opened for a while. Also, when we came down for breakfast the next morning, there was almost nothing available. Very disappointed that we ended up paying to stay in a dirty hotel. Not recommended.
Marriott hotels are all above and average in all ways , especially in cleanliness and in staff. All employees are friendly and obvious good worker because you see them on their jobs. From Front Desk to maintenance the high caliber of employee is consistently there and it is this uniformity of quality that keeps us Marriott customers.
Overall the hotel was pretty good. Guest services was very good. Having been an Operations Manager for a Courtyard by Marriott, I always inspect the room upon arrival. We loved that there were shampoo and soap dispensers on the wall in the shower, this must save a lot of money. However, I did find a used coffee cup under the bed. The main issue that I had was with the preauthorization of my credit card. I stayed on a Tuesday night to Wednesday Morning, and the preauthorization was for more than my stay. Later when I checked my bank account not only was the preauthorization on my account but the actual charge was on there as well. The preauthorization was not expected to come off my account for a week. When I called the GM, she was able to work with my bank to fix the problem. If we didnt check, it could have cause serious financial hardships. My wife overheard another guest that had a similar issue, their card was preauthorized several times. Next time Ill pay in cash.
Very large, spotless room with king bed, tv, microwave and small fridge. Bed was firm and very comfortable. Pillows were a little flat. Large walk in shower with quality toiletries. Front desk woman who checked us in was super friendly and welcoming!!! Would stay here again.
When we arrived after a long 6 hour drive both ladies that were working at the front desk told us they couldn’t find our reservation. I showed them our booking done through booking.com to which one of them answered in a nasty tone “they’re not very reliable, and we’re all sold out.” Didn’t even bother to keep looking to see if it was possible a mistake had been made by booking.com. I was shocked since I had a confirmation email, the hotel had been paid, how could this be? Again, we were 6 hours away from home, with a 1 year old to make thinks more complicated. We had to call several hotels, and finally were able to figure out our stay. About an hour later I received an email from this hotel, they had found our reservation. I couldn’t believe it. They didn’t even offer to let us stay for free any of the nights or upgrade our suit, given the problem they had caused us. Be careful with this place. If they tell you they can’t find your reservation, make sure they keep checking. Not very nice staff and I would never try to stay here again.
We arrived for a long weekend. We were warmly welcomed and our room was okay.BUT THE ELEVATOR DIDNT WORK FOR OUR ENTIRE STAY!I can get an HVAC guy at my house in less than 24 hours. This company apparently has no relationship with the elevator repair people. The limited staff couldnt be expected to give any assistance for those on upper floors. Where was management? And no apology or remuneration after 4 days of stair climbing either!
This is the best hotel that I have stayed in. When you walk in the room you can just smell it is clean. When you lay your head down on the pillows you can smell fresh, clean laundry smell. Linens on the beds were spotless. Cant say good enough things about this hotel. Great stay!!!
The hotel hallways wreaks of pot smoke on two different floors. Asked the front desk if it was a smoking floor and received a vague response with no offer to make it better. Left the hotel hoping it would clear out when we returned and it only got worse! I will NEVER stay at a Fairfield Inn again- NOT worth the money or the one star I have to apply.
Obviously the parent company is cutting costs, but sadly it was at my expense. Price the same or a bit higher with much less of everything. Forget the breakfast bar . Dont think housekeeping is done till customer leaves. I didnt have any on my 4 day stay, and no, my do not disturb sign was not on. Staff was very nice
Due to my job I stay in plenty of hotels. I will say this has been the cleanest one by far. Im very picky about cleanliness especially since Covid. This is the first one that after my own wiping down my cloths werent filthy. I cannot express how appreciative I am for this! The staff are genuinely nice and helpful. I will definitely request this hotel if Im traveling back down this way. I will recommend this hotel to everyone! You guys are doing a great job!
Our stay was horrible!! I have been a Mariott member for 20+ years and I can easily say this was the worst stay we have ever had in Marriott property. The first room they gave us had only been partially cleaned with empty water bottles and other trash around the room. Once I complained they assigned us another room. This room was clean but at about 9 p.m. the gentlemen in the next room calls his parents and we could hear the entire conversation as if we were in the room with him. He had his phone on speaker so we could hear not only everything he was saying but what his parents were saying too!! The front desk said that they didnt have any other rooms they could move us too! The gentlemen (who was really only talking in a normal voice) hen called his girlfriend and they chatted for hours...they only way I could sleep was to cover my ears with the pillow!!! The walls of this place have to be paper thin! D0 yourself a favor and stay anywhere but here!!
Clean, minimal room meets needs for stay. Good: very clean, prime location, nice to have the microwave and fridge in room. Needs help: pool closed all summer, stale cereal and empty shelves at breakfast, front desk manager Wendy is clueless, significantly overcharged for incidentals hold and no fix.
Nobody stays at a Fairfield inn by the highway for a luxury stay. We all just wants clean rooms for a quiet and comfortable stay. They delivered that for the most part. We were extra cautious by wiping the bathroom and various part of the area, and it surprised us a little that it still caught some good amount of dust and dirt, but at least it is generally clean from our sight. The only major thing I need to complain is the body wash/shampoo bottles. Since they do not offer individual bottles anymore , I expect what’s provided in the big bottle body wash and shampoo to be refilled promptly. There were barely enough for two people when we stayed. Since they didn’t offer individual bottles we wouldn’t know until we took showers.
The bath gel container was empty, there was one wash cloth provided and there were two of us, and there was a scant amount of toilet paper with no replacement roll. There was also alight in the ceiling that constantly flashed making sleep nearly impossible. Not a pleasant stay at all.
Positive: It¿s location on Route 4 just off I 90. I had to go to Albany and Columbia County frequently. I liked that there were restaurants, Cracker Barrel and Denny¿s, within walking distance although I did take my car. Negative: The hotel was advertised with a pool. The pool was being repaired and was closed. The hotel had a great breakfast, eggs and bacon, for Friday, Saturday and Sunday but no eggs and bacon for Monday and Tuesday.
I actually liked it. I travel a lot so I stay at different hotels here and there. This shouldnt be a 2 star hotel at all. More like 3 to 3.5 or even 4 but definitely needs a lot of work before reaching 4. My main criticism is the fact that the bathroom lights are outside of the door and the vent in the bathroom doesnt it, its not connected to the light wiring. I wish that they would have a bigger fridge in the rooms for people with stays of one week or more. And yes, the pool is still covered, despite the state lifting many hurdles.Breakfast is okay, but its the same thing everyday lol.ALSO, and I hope management is reading these, PLEASE FIX THE POTHOLES IN THE ENTRANCE. Its annoying trying to curve POTHOLES here and there everytime.
Staff is very friendly, professional and helpful. We loved the fresh cookies at the front desk each afternoon and the all day coffee in the lobby. Right next door to a Cracker Barrel and a Dennys if you want some late night breakfast. Had a nice sized gym and an outdoor pool. Rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. We had a great stay.
Staff was friendly and a great free breakfast. We had an issue with musty smelling towels (that we did not report to ask for new ones, our bad). I posted a review on the Marriott site and the manager did follow up and wanted more detail about the stay, which I thought was really good of them. The rooms were aging, but were clean. Overall it was a good overnight stopping place while we were travelling. No real complaints other than the towel issue.
The entire place smelled like cigarette smoke; the shower/tub soap dispenser was empty; we were only given decaf coffee in the room but never mind because the coffee cups provided were way too tall to fit in the tiny coffee maker! Breakfast was crowded, no Covid protocols in place, and way too salty.
This place is tired and staff not into jobs. Pools closed because they couldnt bother to open it. Breakfast to go is stale and gross. They didnt refill soap containers in bathroom before we arrived. Had to call numerous times for refill. They didnt provide hand soap (during a pandemic) really! Said they didnt have it, but it appeared later. I get these are hard times, but this place just gave up and they were pretty well occupied.
Cat went above and beyond to accommodate us and made sure we were happy. Very sweet girl. Very knowledgeable. Also, Michael helped me the next morning. He, too, was very professional, polite, and very accommodating. Every staff member I ran into, from hospitality, to the breakfast attendant, was pleasant and willing to help. We had everything we needed, and expected, from a Marriott brand hotel. This is a little further from my daughters college in Albany, but it want a bad ride. & was convenient to the interstate and Walmart. It was goldilocks. Not to big, not too small. It had everything I needed. I didnt need to ask for anything extra. Maybe some more washcloths, as there were 4 of us, and I only had 2. I dont like to share that. Comfy beds, plush carpet, everything worked in the room, and it was clean and well maintained. The conditioner got stuck in the pump, though, but we managed to get enough. Also, the pumps in the shower were a bit high for me, as I am short, and the shower floor was a little slippery, and I would have liked more grab bars around the perimeter. & there were flies stuck at the top of the window between the glass and screen, and one got in, which was off putting. But those arent deal breakers. Very quiet hotel, thankfully. I will definitely stay here in the future.
I highly recommend Fairfield Inn & Suites Albany East Greenbush as we had a wonderful experience in our stay there. My Husband and I were visiting family in Troy NY this year as we had last year and stayed at the same hotel for the second time. We found the Staff to be attentive, friendly, efficient and professional. The hotel is very CLEAN and provides a very comfortable environment. The Complimentary Breakfast is varied, well prepared and Very Tasty! You cant beat the fresh home made waffles...So Good! The room was very clean and the white sheets and bed spreads were so much appreciated as you could see that they were very clean as well. We had a great experience for the SECOND time!
Came back for a second stay at this hotel and it was just as lovely as the last! This time in winter, it was amazing that they have coffee and hot water for tea ready and waiting in the lobby when you get in. The rooms were extra cozy and so easy to adjust to the perfect temperature! Totally updated bathrooms with a shower that never runs out of hot water, a total dream!
As I stated before, everything was wonderful. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating to our needs. They moved beds out of one of the rooms and put round tables in it so the makeup people and hair people could do the brides, mothers, bridesamaids hair and makeup. They also brought a table into one of our suite areas so we could have breakfast set up for everyone. All in all just a wonderful experience. Thank you to everyone at this hotel! It made the day go so smoothly.
I’ve stayed at this hotel for 3 times. The staffs are very nice here. The room is not fancy but comfortable. I wish they have an indoor pool but too bad they don’t have it. The only thing I’d like to recommend is I made request for extra towels through mobile app but did not receive it. It does not bother me much but recommend the staffs can check their system more frequently. I still enjoyed my stay here.
Very kind workers, extremely helpful, the one who puts out the breakfast is very social and nice. The hotel staff is very friendly and willing to work with you. Most of the cleaning people seen nice as well. The place itself is very typical, small bathrooms in the doubles, nice showers/baths. Very great place.
The rooms were clean and quiet. the staff very accommodating. breakfast good. The downside to being convenient is you could hear the highway noise when you stand outside but not inside the hotel. the parking is such that when a car pulls in to park the headlights will shine into your room, motel style. however, for a affordable price convenient to Albany area, clean and comfortable with decent breakfast included and friendly staff. it is perfect.
UPDATE: third visit, still five stars. I’ve been here a few times, and it’s always been reliably good. And a great value. Especially with a recent renovation, the rooms and the lobby area are nicely appointed and modern. I had a large, clean, quiet room with all the normal amenities including a desk with a (very important) comfortable desk chair, and (even more important) plenty of outlets for my devices. The staff have always been unfailingly polite and helpful, and the location is very convenient for getting on/off the highway and back on the road. A great business travel hotel, has everything I need and I’ll keep coming back.
I am a frequent traveler and this was an excellent stay. The online reservation process was easy and convenient. I downloaded the Android App and used it for Check-In and Check-out. I liked it! Our suite was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the Air Conditioner kept the room cool, for sleeping, without being noisy. Everything worked properly. If I had one complaint, it was that the countertop space near the bathroom sink was inadequate. With two adults and all of our toiletries, it wasnt convenient. Overall, we selected this Fairfield because of my Marriott gold status and because some of the friends we were meeting were staying there. Im pleased with the selection. One more note: This property is in the middle of some construction, as part of an upgrade to the property. That caused some minor inconvenience, but since I knew about it, in advance, it certainly didnt lessen our satisfaction.
What an oasis after a long day of traveling! We arrived at the hotel around midnight and the lady behind the desk was so kind and quick to get us checked in! When we got to the room, it was such a relief to see the plush beds! The room was immaculate, and we were thrilled to find a mini fridge so we could chill some drinks. Breakfast in the morning was included, a spread of eggs, sausages (including vegetarian sausage!!), breads and cereals. The coffee was GREAT! All in all a totally wonderful and relaxing stay - pro-tip: use the provided shampoo, all the products were tea tree and mint and it was SO refreshing!!
Good experience. The lady at the reception desk was nice, but somehow our room was next to noisy kids and parents that were very easily heard through the thin walls....ugh, big time! Lobby was clean and bright.Room was nice too, but windows are a bit thin which allow traffic noise into the room. Top floor hallway has a large fan in the ceiling that is a bit loud. Walls are thin too unfortunately.Hotel got refurbishing a few years ago, so looks fairly new but room door locks are still old and a bit noisy. Wall switches are old style too. Bathroom has larger bottles of shampoos rather than the smaller bottles that run out quickly.
Our hotel stay was for the most part fine with the exception of the slow working toilet in our room that eventually got stopped up completely and the errant short dark curly hairs found on the wall and floor of the tub/shower. The problems were resolved quickly and the rest of the stay was fine. One other thing, the pillows are too soft and small they give little cupport or comfort.
I would have to say, this hotel served its purpose of providing sleeping quarters for us, but I would have to advise against a long term stay. First, the pros... The morning breakfast was really quite delicious, and the staff that manned it was very friendly. Also, the morning desk staff there the first morning of our stay was quite pleasant and very customer service oriented. The beds were pretty comfy, and the room was very quiet even being right next to the elevator. Now, the cons... The staff at check in need to be retrained. When a guest walks in, you should not continue your personal conversation for 2 minutes and THEN greet the guest. When we go to our room and it was so cold we though we were back outside!!! The AC was set to 62. It is winter in upstate, the housekeeping staff should make sure the heat is on in empty rooms. The AC being on in turn caused the tile in the bathroom and entrance to be like walking on ice cubes. It was not pleasant. After getting the heat on, the room had a hard time staying warm because the windows were pouring in cold air. The tv remote did not work very well, which was fine because we were not really in the room very much. Next, the shower area. It was not too bad upon initial inspection, but the shower actually leaked constantly and it was too small of an area to get dressed in, and the tiles were extremely slippery. Also, the toilet got plugged with normal use. The beds were not overall comfortable, but the fitted sheets and underlay did not fit properly and kept rolling off the edge of the bed and rolled us up. It was very sleep interrupting. The housekeeping staff seemed to do an ok job, just need to vacuum better. Also management may want to go room to room and check the wallpaper because multiple spots in our room it was falling off the wall.
Very centrally located. Clean friendly hotel. Great breakfast items. Refrigerator and microwave in the room. The fitness room has a rubber mat floor, tons of space, dumbbells, recumbent bike and treadmill. Lots of space to jump rope or do a HIIT workout. Laundry facilities were also a plus. Bed was comfortable and the room/bathroom were clean. Overall a great stay.
This is a nice and friendly place. I stayed there a couple of night last October and I was very pleased of the service and the accommodation. The rates are very reasonable. My stay at the hotel came with free parking and breakfast. There were plenty of choices on the breakfast menu and your get to serve yourself for the most part. The hotel is across the river from Albany with easy commute to city business center.
My family and I have been stuck in this hotel for four days now. Are car broke down on are way from Maine back to Illinois. The staff is warm and friendly. They have done everything they can to accommodate are needs. Even going as far as giving my daughter breakfast after they closed it down for the day. The atmosphere is welcoming they treat you more like family then a guest. The prices are fair. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wether they are just vacationing or having car troubles like us. I think it says a lot when a facility comes together to help people when they are in need. The staff here is amazing and incredibly. All my family and myself can say is thank you so much. Its always hard being stuck in a bad situation but when people do there best to help you it truly does lighten the load.
The East Greenbush Fairfield is my favorite. It’s not the newest but it’s maintained very well, the staff tries hard to please, the management is totally on top of things and overall very professional. It might sound like they are paying me to say these things but I am happy to say no. This an honest assessment. I stay in Albany 50 weeks per year. I could stay anywhere. It’s not about cost, although their rates are very fair. I wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else because they have always taken excellent care of me. They are warm, friendly and engaging.I’ve stayed at Marriotts all around the world over the years. The others could learn something from the staff and management of the East Greenbush Fairfield Inn.
Overall nice experience. hotel is close to Cracker Barrel, would not recommend Dennys. Hotel staff, were excellent. Young lady at check-in and young gentleman at check-out were professional and very helpful. Only issues were tub did not drainwell and being on fourth floor, elevator button did not work and had to press several times and hope elevator would come in a couple of minutes. hotel is easy on and off Route 90.
Everything about our stay was perfect. The room was large and clean. Bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was delicious with many options. Laundry was COMPLIMENTARY! Finally, the front desk employee, Nick, was extremely friendly and helpful. He is a great asset to your team.
This hotel was perfect! Conveniently located just off the highway and exceeded all expectations. Really loved the fresh warm cookies and hot coffee in the lobby. The front desk staff were very friendly and were able to give us a late check out which was very nice. Our rooms were spacious and clean with super comfy beds. The hotel also had complimentary hot breakfast and an outdoor pool. We had a great stay, would definitely recommend it and will be staying again!
The hotel is really dirty. there were cobwebs on the night lamp. Not covid compliant at all. Attendant was not helpful, couldnt care less.the elevator is really dirty.they have no cups in the coffee I maker...I could go on and on. Would never stay here again...shame on me for staying here, but was exhausted...
Despite the extensive renovation being done to the hotel, the rooms were neat and clean, the housekeeping staff was amazing in keeping the entry area and breakfast room clean. The front desk, despite having to operate from a modified guest room, was efficient and very professional. The breakfast was good and kept well stocked and warm. I would love to stay at this hotel again once the renovation is complete because if the people there were able to make my stay as good as it was in such adverse conditions, I have a hard time imagining how great it will be when they dont have to work around construction crews and debris.
Location was great and even though there was no restaurant inside they do have free breakfast and are next door to a Dennys. The mattress was great but for some reason the pillows were uncomfortable. The person who greeted me was very nice. I did not the receive the wake up call I requested. There was also pubic hair on and in the toilet when I got to the room so I wouldnt say it was the cleanest hotel Ive ever stayed at.
I had the great opportunity of staying multiple nights at the this lovely hotel while in town for work. It just what I needed after a insane long day on the road from Florida. The hospitality was spot on and front desk was extremely kind and courteous upon my midnight check in. I was extremely pleased and comfortable in my room which felt very recently renovated. The hotel and location are safe and quiet and with them being very busy this night they had ample parking. The rooms offered microwave, refrigerator...they have amazing water pressure here too! Location of hotel offered many nice places to venue to and eat nearby...city enter is less than 15 mins away and Albany airport is right at 20 mins away so they couldnt be more conveniently located!Breakfast fantastic with a very well rounded menu. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and coffee were! Housekeeping were very courteous...extremely nice folks and really went out of their way to help me with any of my requests which were few. They a have a great little gym that I occupied and outdoor pool which is kept spotless. If youre in the area or plan on being in the area and want a great hotel this one is definitely worth staying at, I know Ill be back!
Love this hotel! Convenient location from the highway and the rooms were super comfortable with big giant beds and fluffy pillows. We got in late and the front desk was very friendly and accommodating, they even offered us a later checkout so we could sleep in. There was a nice complimentary hot breakfast and coffee in the lobby all day. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again next time I’m in the area. 👌👍
This was a great hotel for a nice weekend getaway or weekend stay for a wedding weekend. The staff was great and very helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious and plenty to go around. Everyone around was so friendly. It was a nice area and plenty of surrounding restaurants and stores of you needed anything.
I spent 5 nights here recently. I spilled something on my sheets the first night. My sheets were not changed the entire time I was there. The brochure in the room says the sheets are changed every 3 days. My sink was never cleaned. I would come back to the room and my hair would still be in the sink from that morning. Cleaning staff definitely needs improvement.
Last minute stay with my husband and daughter so she could attend a tournament - the staff was so friendly and accommodating; both late night staff as well as early morning. Great FREE breakfast - with lots to choice from including a hot breakfast! Rooms are large and clean. Centrally located with a Cracker Barrel also in same parking lot. Will definitely stay here again!
Terrible experience!!! Got in around 3am. Was eligible for room upgrade since Im platinum elite. There was a room available it lady didnt know how to process it after about 5-10 min. I said forget it, my kids were tired... Next they ran out of Toothbrushes (my fault I forgot for the kids) but expect a hotel of Marriott Brand to have the basics. Ice machine on our floor wasnt working and last, room service clearly didnt get the memo that i had late check out and spoke to my daughter rudely. Definitely do not see myself going back. While checking out, was promised 5000 points for the inconvenience, still waiting on it... After the reply below, still waiting for my points. This shows exactly how the service was :(
Very nice standard hotel. Desk clerk was very friendly and the hotel was very clean and quiet. Nice area. Nothing over the top or extraordinary but perfect for our overnight stay while traveling. We travel frequently and prefer staying at nicer places. We would definitely stay here again.
With the Marriott name, only the best service, clean and comfortable rooms and great value can be expected. However, sometimes your expectations can be blown away by the excellence of a great staff and an overwhelmingly wonderful experience. We left very happy!Jim, the polite and helpful gentleman at the front desk, started us with what would be a relaxing and comfortable stay. The room was awesome. We had a big king size bed with super soft pillows and sheets. Brittany, the room attendant, left a polite, handwritten note wishing us a pleasant stay. Sweet note and nice gesture. In the morning, we found a fantastic breakfast buffet. Waffles, fruit, eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, cereals, toast and muffins. We were not expecting such a large variety of breakfast foods. Delicious! We look forward to staying with Fairfield Inn and other properties under the Marriott umbrella exclusively in the future. We knew only the best could be expected with the Marriott name and even then, our expectations were surpassed. Thanks for everything. See you soon.
I enjoyed my stay at the Greenbush Fairfield inn! My room was clean, quiet & spacious! The breakfast offered a good selection of healthy food options and the lobby has an all-day coffee bar. The workout room and outdoor pool are clean and up to date. The hotel is tucked away off the main road but still has 2 major restaurants in close walking distance. I WILL stay here again!
Just what the doctor ordered! After driving all night from Vermont, I cant explain how grateful we were to walk into the warm and inviting lobby of this hotel. The lady at the front desk was so sweet and made sure to get us checked in quickly so we could get to our rooms to get some rest. The shower was amazing and the beds were clean and comfortable and just what the doctor ordered. We were surprised with a TOP NOTCH hot breakfast (complimetary) waiting for us in the lobby when we woke up. Really starts the day off right when youre traveling to get a nice warm breakfast and a cup of coffee.Wifi was fast, parking lot was safe, staff was wonderful. Will definitely stay here again!
This was a really nice hotel right outside of downtown Albany and it overlooked the city and the capital of New York. There was a nice lounge area where I could catch up on some work while I had the night off. The best feature of the hotel was there was free laundry on site, which I desperately needed to do. The staff was friendly and helped us settle in. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, including a Dennys across the parking lot. Overall,it was an off day for us traveling and this place had everything we needed. Id definitely stay here again.
This Fairfield Inn has super friendly staff; we had a painless and quick 3am check in. The rooms were super neat and comfortable with a high scoring amount of five pillows per bed. I’m a fan of the lobby’s futuristic furniture and color scheme which contrast to the room’s calm, warm décor. Exceptional complimentary breakfast that included a veggie sausage patty option – the first time I’ve seen that. I really like the waffle maker as well as it made four mini waffles which are quite sharable (note: I did not share but I should have). Additionally, features 24 hr coffee and tea available in the lobby. This hotel is perfect in every way with soundproofing so good you would think you were the only residents in the whole spot. Convenient location with plenty of dining options in walkable distance. I am tour managing a band from Greece; this is their first hotel stay in the USA and they are really impressed with the kind staff. A+
What a hidden gem! Tucked away in a quiet corner was this friendly surprise - Upon entrance we were greeted by Nicks unwavering hospitality, as he guided us to our room while offering local dining and nightlife options. The lobby was spacious and clean with a welcoming work area, and complimentary ammenities like gourmet tea and coffee. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with working appliances and an AC that kept us chilly all night. We felt incredibly welcome, safe, and comfortable. We will definitely be returning.
Where do I even begin with the terrible customer service we experienced here... When we got here, our rooms weren’t ready. They told us to come back in an hour, so we did. Still not ready, but they said 20 minutes. We came back an hour later and when we asked again, THAT was when they started cleaning the rooms. The showers were filthy when we finally got into our rooms (you know that pink scum that comes off super easily? Yeah. Makes me think they didn’t actually clean the shower). Our rooms weren’t fully stocked (missing shampoo, conditioner, and washcloths). When we asked for these items, we were told to go find a housekeeper and ask them. I have never had such a terrible experience at a Marriott. Corporate, come get your girl.
A convenient place to stay just outside of Albany. With easy access to the city, its also far enough outside to be a bit more relaxed. The continental breakfast is a nice option for a quick and convenient meal. The rooms are completely adequate, clean and fine, though not huge or super modern. The wifi was usable though a tad slow. As a base of operations just outside town, it works well.
Clean, comfortable, and very nice staff. The hotel was under renovation during my stay, but the room was freshly updated, spotless, and I couldnt hear any noise from the renovation at all. This is a perfect hotel for a quick, clean hotel stay with all the amenities I needed and a staff that was very welcoming. I highly recommend it!
Overall, this was a pretty good stay. We were greeted by a very friendly front-desk staff who handled the check in quickly. Our room was ready when we arrived. There were a couple of items that werent perfect: For one, I wasnt recognized as a Gold Elite member (the card key said Elite, but that was it). As a result, there was no mention that I had requested an upgrade and/or a different room type (e.g. Were sorry... it was not available). I didnt know that they couldnt accommodate the special request until I arrived at the room. And... there was no mention that, because of my Elite Gold Status, I could choose the enhanced wi-fi. Those arent huge issues, but it was noticeable. The room was fine. Im partial to rooms with a bathroom counter thats large enough to hold toiletries, etc. This rooms sink/counter was too small for one persons items, let alone for the two of us. Everything worked properly inside the room and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast on Saturday morning wasnt very good. The food tasted good, but, even though the breakfast area wasnt very crowded at the time we were there, it seemed that nearly everything was empty or near empty (fruit, sausage, butter, coffee... to name a few), Ultimately, they were refilled, but it required us to return several times, just to get the items we wanted.Check out was fast and efficient by another very friendly desk clerk. As I said, it was an OK stay, but it wasnt as good as other stays at Fairfield/Marriott properties. I would give it another try, the next time Im in the area, but this stay didnt meet the normal standards Im used to, at Marriott properties.
This facility has an amazing staff are always there to resolve any issues of needs. The price is very fair and rooms are spotless. Free breakfast is always a pleasure. Manager Mike has always been such an accommodating manager and pleasure to speak with about general issues or questions.
Id had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Albany East Greenbush approximately 25 nights, over the past 5 months or so, for business. The hotel is conveniently located close to the downtown Albany area and super close to the Ren. Rail Station. The rooms are spotless and super comfy. The front desk staff is super helpful and accommodating. Theyll always engage you in natural, friendly conversations, especially as they get to know you more.I dont like travelling for work, too much. But when I do, its nice to have a warm, comfortable place to stay, with such friendly, welcoming people. I highly recommend staying with Fairfield Inn & Suites Albany East Greenbush, if youre up in the Ren. / Albany / Troy areas.
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn while dropping my son off at college. The room was clean and decor up to date. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows.Breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh food and coffee. Great way to start the day.Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I had forgotten my toothbrush and toothpaste and the front desk staff provided me with them.I didnt have a chance to swim in the pool but will next time I visit.
Weve stayed at this hotel 5 or 6 times, and EVERY time, the staff exceeds our expectations! They are gracious, efficient, friendly and make you feel like youre an old friend. The hotel is immaculately clean and the breakfast service is awesome, and offers a wide variety of food to satisfy all needs. Rooms are really comfortable and clean. Overall, just an excellent experience.
I stayed here for a business trip.Well to start with the welcome. All the people that I interacted with at the reception were nice and helpful. The hotel is maintained well.Corridors, breakfast area, fitness rooms, staircase etc were clean. The room had all the amenities that one would usually require. The toilet however did not have the sanitized for you tag. Also you get a complimentary breakfast which has a good spread. The location of the hotel is average. The only let down was the internet. The free one was quite slow and I had to pay a 5$ fee to get the one with high speed.
Receptionist was very nice upon arrival, rooms were clean and large- lots of space for our bags/gear. Coffee/Tea avail 24hrs, pantry to purchase snacks/drinks, breakfast available in morning, and printer available. Perfect for traveling musicians. Would definitely stay here again.
Now, I know why 5 stars says as good as it gets! because thats what this hotel was, as good as it gets. Clean, very up to date, modern, and a peaceful and relaxing environment. Very nice to grab cookies at the front desk too haha. Able to arrive, use all the amazing amenities, and only be 10 minutes away from downtown Albany. Definitely going to be my spot whenever Im in the area, you guys made a return customer for sure. The pool was fun, the room is clean, its near tons of stuff, but far enough away to enjoy yourself or just straight up relax. Great hotel.
We arrived without a reservation on a very busy weekend, and Holly went out of her way in a warm and enthusiastic way to help us with a problem and provided us with whatever we needed. Our room was very clean and comfortable (as were the common areas), and the service (including breakfast) was wonderful. Also appreciated that the rooms were quiet. We definitely would stay here again. Thank you Holly!
Newly renovated hotel didnt stop a stink bug from entering my room. Fortunately, the front desk attendant took care of the situation and replaced my pillows. My man gets a star for that. Free continental breakfast was nothing fancy but covers the basics. Great choice for a budget overnight stay in Albany. 4/5
This hotel is amazing! Its not overpriced and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Nice fitness center, clean spacious rooms, super friendly accommodating staff, excellent breakfast with a few hot dishes and one of the most comfortable beds Ive ever slept in. It was also quiet, so I got to get some work in and also relax. When Im back in the area again, Ill be checking back in here for sure!
Wow! Fantastic Hotel! Amazing place to stay in the albany area. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and the staff helped me check in after a late arrival. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent continental breakfast and found myself rested and recharged after my stay. Five stars!!!
It as been a long time I didnt get a great check in experience but this time Mike nailed it!Fast check in, Elite recognition, offered water bottles to the family, very warm welcome offered by Mike!!Its a typical Fairfield, clean room, good location. We were here for one night only.I recommend this place!
I have stayed at this hotel 4 years in a row and it has been an excellent experience each time. The staff of this hotel always exhibit the highest level of customer service. I have traveled with elderly family members and the staff have always been sensitive to accessibility. Easy access location, always clean, always friendly staff!
Excellent location and equally excellent property. Clean, comfortable, and supported by an excellent staff! Parking lot is well lighted for safety, and you can literally walk to Dennys or Cracker Barrel in-between a pretty darn good breakfast. Close to the interstate and nearby shopping too.
Our lax team had to rebook because the travel agent found out our reservation was not up to par. This hotel is perfect for our weekend being spent on the lax field. Front desk staff was EXTREMELY helpful and courteous. Excellent service!! The rooms are clean and quiet. We will come back if we are in the area again!! Exceptional!!
Average Fairfield Inn. Nice staff, and your average Fairfield Inn type breakfast. Great selection of food for everyone for this level of hotel. Warm foods such as eggs, waffle maker, sausage, toasts, and they even had veggie sausage which was delicious (not sure if it was vegetarian or vegan), and oat meal. Cold foods such as cereal, yogurt, pastries, fruit, and fruit cups. Lobby was nice and up to date. Room was very spacious. However, bathroom was small. Advice, if you like coffee in your room in the AM, check to see what is in room. We had 2 decaf coffees, both which were different brands. No coffee with caffeine was in room. I wouldnt stay here again when paying cash. There are way too many options in Albany area, and nothing here stood out as above and beyond. Hotel was your average Fairfield Inn level type of hotel. However, points wise the hotel is cheap, and Id stay again if in area and points were still the same.
As a standup comedian, I travel a lot and stay in many hotels across the country. This was a holiday weekend and I was traveling to the Saratoga Springs NY area on Thursday to perform at The Comedy Works for a somewhat last minute comedy show. I was lucky to get a room as the Fairfield Inn East Greenbush was sold out the weekend. The hotel is going through construction and what looks like some maintenance and major improvements. The revamped areas of the hotel are fresh and new and the decor is modern and pleasant. The double room was big and the beds comfortable and everything was clean. I even received a note to Enjoy your stay from Amanda on staff. Because I was performing Thursday night, I checked in to the hotel during late night/overnight hours. Tiffany at the front desk working the overnight shift was knowledgeable of the area, places to eat, she was super friendly, and got me checked in quick and painlessly. I was hungry at 1:00am and was lucky to have the Dennys open 24 hours next to the hotel. Everyone was very nice, the service and food was great. I like having a noon checkout, so that was helpful. I wish I could rate more of the facilities, but it is difficult as they go through a transition of improvements. But from my experience, this is going to be a hotel on my short list to stay while in the Albany area. I hope to come back soon when everything is finished!
This is a wonderful hotel clean and the staff is wonderful from Kat, Ronald, and Micheal the manger all where exceptional! Had a super 50th for my sister and they offered the breakfast area and helped me set up the room, having worked in hospitality I saw first hand a shining example of exceptional guest service at the East Greenbush Fairfield. Thank You 😊 for a great stay !
I stayed overnight in this property On 2 different trips and the experience was good. Hotel is clean staff is friendly, it includes complimentary parking and breakfast. Finding the hotel isn’t that easy since the sign on the road is small and it was hidden behind a bush but everything else was good
The room was super nice, beds very comfy. The shower was pretty nice, it leeched a lot of heat though so it was cold or you werent standing directly in the shower. Breakfast was nice other than the fruit, which was a little mushier or harder than it should have been.
The overall experience stay is great, I love the staff including management, but here my issues:1) House Keeping Staff keep on breaking in my room with DD sign on the door.2) Plumbing issue; Showers dripping, Sinks leaking...3) Same breakfast everyday, please modify.
I would rate the Fairfield Inn & Suites excellent because the hotel was clean, newly decorated, staff was friendly and you felt safe. The breakfast was very good as well. The hotel sign doesnt stand out enough and the GPS did not lead me to the door. I was a little disappointed that the pool was closed down already but it was the end of September, so that was normal. I ate dinner at Cracker Barrel and it was very good.
Stay here every time I visit the area and I have stayed at this hotel 5-6 times. Under construction so issues are expected. Staff was great as always. Had room directly across from elevator. This is a sub-standard location and should come at a discount. Being next to the ice machine is the same issue. Even a $10 discount would satisfy most people. WiFi was intermittent and extremely slow. I work when I travel and a good connection is necessary. This did not qualify. Will give them one more try when construction is done.
I recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn Albany for an overnight stay for business in the area. I had a horrible stay. I was offered the last room available during booking. Which I booked without being concerned because this is a Marriott. However, that should have been a warning flag. The room upon checking in was a handicap accessible room. It was located directly off the lobby (think people), the staff office room, next to the elevator (noisy people) and ice machine (dropping ice). I did not sleep at all due to noise, plus doors opening and closing all night. Completely unacceptable. The bed is a double and room is small. What really saddens me? Why does a handicap person get a less than room than a fully functioning person? And at the same rate? There is something wrong with that. I did not complain or report my issues in the morning, as there was a lobby full of people. And I was too groggy to think correctly.
Fairfield is one of the affordable one within Marriott brands, but not all Fairfield management makes their service on par with Marriott standard. This is one of them. Although it is small, the hotel management make every details perfect from service to hotel property. I felt so welcomed staying here. It is well maintained and staff are well trained. Not all Fairfield inns service are equal, this is just one of the best!
This property just finished a fairly extensive remodel; they did a good job. I enjoyed my stay with them and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. It was a more expensive than some of the other properties in the surrounding area but having the opportunity to stay in a quasi-new facility does offset the incremental cost.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at this hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel, our car died in the parking lot. Over the next 24 hours, Nick went above and beyond to help us feel at home during an incredibly stressful situation. He not only let me store ice packs in the kitchen freezer, consequently saving my breastmilk supply, he also checked in with us to make sure we had a tow truck coming. On the day of checkout, he allowed us to delay our checkout time to accommodate our ride home, at no additional cost. Ive stayed at many hotels and the staff at Fairfield Inn & Suites Albany East Greenbush really could not be better!
Ive stayed here twice for business in the past month. The complimentary breakfast is very good, great selection of food! Number one reason I come back!Rooms are nice, standard.Wifi is spotty. Good connection on 3rd floor but none on second, so keep in mind if you are staying for business or need wifi.
Main entrance closed due to construction. Temporary side entrance allowed anyone access to the building and end staircase. Thin walls allowed sounds to permeate including ice machine which ran constantly. The bathroom in my king room was very cramped and had no ventilation. Limited staff on site were excellent, but obviously couldnt maintain the outdoor pool area which was less than desirable for an evening swim after other guests had left food, trash, and used towels everywhere. The breakfast was great and the attendant was fantastic! It is unlikely that I will return until construction is complete and staffing is improved.
This hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. The Front Desk staff does everything possible to accommodate you and make your stay pleasant. All staff are very friendly. The breakfast is very nice and an added bonus. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the Albany, NY area.
My wife and I were celebrating the birthday of our middle child and part of her birthday week was her wanting to stay at a hotel. The service was great even though the elevator was out of service. The receptionist even assisted us with our bags up three flights of stairs. GREAT SERVICE!
I had a terrific stay at the Fairfield Inn in East Greenbush. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The halls and parking lot were quiet throughout my stay. The room is modern and comfortable with free wi-fi, working heat/air conditioning, and clean, comfortable beds. There is a sports bar just a couple blocks away with great food, and downtown Albany is only a ten minute drive. The free breakfast is excellent, full of options, and they keep it well stocked even when it is busy. Everyone I talked to was extremely helpful and welcoming. Coffee is available in the lobby, and I was given extra, soap, towels, etc without any issues. This is a very clean, peaceful hotel, and I will be sure to stay here again next time I am in town.
I had a very pleasant stay, the room and lobby were clean, bed and pillows were comfy, the tv was good, the breakfast was good, and all of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was perfectly ok, just average. Overall I was very happy with this experience.
Very unprofessional staff. Room is ok, but I doubt the beds are th size they say. Doesnt accept cash payments. I think this hotel needs to get their act together. Ive never seen a more disorganized hotel in my life. As an employee myself, I would think they would treat you a little better.
Although hotel was under repair, we stayed in a very comfortable newly redone room. Staff went aboveduties as our granddaughter left her lunch pain in room. I called hotel and we were able to retrieve her lunch pail after our trip during day. Would recommend as they have a Dennys and Cracker Barrel within walkingdistance. Again kudos to the staff.
The room was very clean and nice. Obviously recently updated. Beds are awesome comfortable and clean. For business trips, power outlets on all lamps make charging devices easy.Multiple maintenance issues in and around the building including out-of-order elevator and loud air conditioner that cant be used. The main entrance is difficult to find - after entering parking lot take a RT at the building and park. If you take a LT by mistake, you need to lap the building to find the entrance. The 1st floor windows dont open for air.Doors into the hallway need soundproofing - allot of noise early mornings.
Very clean rooms and courteous staff. The A/C in the room was brrr, just like I want it. Free breakfast and WIFI were an added bonus! The only downside might be that you won’t want to leave and might be late to your next destination. But I can’t fault Fairfield Inn & Suites in Albany East Greenbush for that.
I didn’t get to spend a ton of time at Fairfield Inn Albany East Greenbush. But the time I did spend was enough for me to highly recommend the place. Let’s start with how it is super conveniently located just off the interstate. Crazy easy to get to. It’s located directly between a Denny’s and a Cracker Barrel, so if breakfast is your thing, or even late night meals, they have you covered. Just down the road is a Walmart and a slew (yep, I said slew) of other food options. Free USA Today in the lobby (yay!) and a fantastic breakfast. The bed is one of the softest I can remember and the shower is perfect (with sliding doors, no annoying curtains!). But none of that matters. What does matter is that the staff was incredibly accommodating (my travel schedule had me arriving super early in the morning and leaving in the evening). They found a room for me even though they were at capacity (or near capacity) the night before. They knew I just needed to sleep because I had been driving all night, and either they found me the quietest room in the hotel, or the whole hotel is whisper quiet. Either way, I got my much needed sleep in a super comfortable and super quiet room and they did this for me when they didn’t have to. That is the kind of above and beyond behavior that almost never exists in the service industry anymore and it needs to be acknowledged when it does. Thank you for making my stay relaxing, the check in painless, and the entire stay worthwhile.#fairfieldinn #Albany #Eastgreenbush #hotelstory #Newyork #entertainer #ssabocomic #traveler
We were in Albany to attend an event at the Times Union Center. This hotel is just outside of the city. It is in a good neighborhood. It was easy to get to. There is a Cracker Barrell right next door. That was a bonus. The hotel is clean and modern. The rooms are spacious. The beds comfortable with plenty of pillows. The staff was very friendly and easy to talk to. We did not experience any problems during our stay.
Touring musician Mandy Chase has the experience to know what it takes to be a top-quality hotel like this one! The room was perfect, clean and comfortable, and the staff was super friendly. Theres a laundry room you can use while enjoying the free breakfast in the morning to really get the most out of your stay before hitting the road again! We look forward to our clients staying here again in the future! #ignitehospitalityservices #travelignite
The hotel was a very good spot to stop for an overnight stay. We were going to Abanys Times Union Center for the NCAA basketball games, and this hotel was an easy 10 minute drive to it. The hotel is bright, clean, and well kept. The staff was very courteous, and friendly. Breakfast is served each day, not a huge selection, but something hot and cold for choices..
The accommodations were excellent in every respect but what distinguishes this hotel is the superb quality of service.Every request I made was handled instantly, cheerfully and professionally. My stay could not have been more pleasant. I am sure that I will continue to use this hotel whenever I need lodgings in the area.
I recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn Albany/East Greenbush while in town on business, and I was quite impressed with the property.Clearly, the strongest feature of the property is the team of people that they employ and their commitment to guest satisfaction. I arrived early for my stay, and Holly, the guest service associate, was amazing from the moment I arrived until my checkout the next morning. As I was bringing my bags in, she met me halfway with a luggage cart even though I only had a few things to bring in. She helped me out with copies of some documents I needed for work, and then was quick with some right-on-the money directions to some stores I needed to go to. She was working again the next morning when I was leaving, and was splitting time between working the front desk and helping out in the breakfast area. Shes definitely an asset to the Fairfield Inn.The room was great, with plenty of room to spread out and get some work done, and then unwind when the day was done. The wifi service was free and fast, and the desk area was made with the business traveler in mind; plenty of electrical outlets and plenty of light. The bathroom was clean and fully stocked with towels, tissue, shampoos and soap, and there was an in-room coffee maker with some tea bags for tea drinkers. I always appreciate their inclusion as I dont like coffee as much and tea helps me relax before bedtime. The climate control in the room was quite efficient, and I was able to set a comfortable temperature without the wild dips and climbs in temperatures that some hotel heating/AC units have a tendency to serve up.Hot breakfast was available with quite a few choices, sausage and eggs along with fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, cold cereals and more. I like it when a hotel doesnt skimp on the breakfast. They also have a deal with the Dennys restaurant next door for a discount when you show your hotel room key.Im returning to the area in the Spring and Im definitely going to stay here.
This hotel was recommended by relatives and it did not let us down. We are from Iowa and so are relatives so this is a perfect stop before the last leg of out trip to Maine. It is easiy to get to.from interstate. The cleanliness was exceptional as well as breakfast. Staff was awesome! I missed the sign when driving in becasue it is nestled back between Dennys and Cracker Barrel!
The hotel overall is okay. We had an air unit problem in our room which we tried to report in the middle of the night but no staff could be found. Other than that issue, everything seemed to be fairly on par. Bathrooms are a little snug as well but nothing that one cant overcome. Biggest thing is dont have issues in the middle of the night because most likely no one will be there to help.... That was our biggest take-away.
Comfortable rooms with complimentary breakfast and on site parking. The room also has a microwave, something I haven’t seen in a lot of Marriott hotels. The TV does not connect to Netflix but you can still watch TV shows, if you plan on staying in the room. Otherwise Lake George is just a 40 min drive. I would definitely suggest visiting the lake if you are staying here.
This property was under construction which was disclosed prior to them taking the reservation. Guests were expected to park in the front and adjacent parts of the hotel then walk through a heavy rain storm to search for the hotel side entrance. Thereby the guests (myself included) become soaked, cold, and unhappy. Further, no staff in the lobby to intake guests was another disappointment. Lastly, playing music can be a nice touch to a hotel if done tastefully. However, this hotel again didnt disclose that their would be live music in the lobby and common area which was quite loud. This obviously was frustrating for someone that arrives under these conditions and is tired and just wants to rest. This location fundamentally missed the Marriott standard that I am accustomed to at other Marriott properties.
Very nice, clean hotel in a good location. Its right next to a Dennys, which you get a discount at for staying at the hotel. This hotel also gives you free access to a Planet Fitness down the street. The staff was incredibly nice, going above and beyond to make sure I was happy.
Sounds boring, but dependability is not! Count on good service, cleanliness, and very welcoming staff from top to bottom. Always feel like a valued guest! We stay here 2-3 times per year in our travels, and have never encountered a mixup or problem. The perfect stopover.
Last week I had the pleasure of staying in the Fairfield Inn in Albany NY.The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and was even able to grant my request to stay on a lower floor. The location of this hotel could not be better if you’re visiting the Albany area. It’s close to the mall, restaurants and the city of Albany itself but far enough away that you aren’t right in all the hustle and bustle. The room was clean, the TV had lots of channels and the beds were very comfortable which is always great after a long day of travel. Thank you Fairfield Inn for a great stay! I can’t wait to get back soon. If you’re in this area I can’t recommend this location enough.#socialmediapromo#socialmediainfluencer#hotelsandresorts#FairfieldInnAlbany#FairfieldInn#ignitehospitalityservices#hotelphotography#workandtravel#Albany#NewYork
My husband and I, as well as members of my husbands family booked 4 rooms for 5 nights. None of our rooms were cleaned at all during our stay. We brought up the issue to the front desk staff, who wrote up that our rooms needed to be cleaned, but they were still not cleaned. Upon asking to speak to the manager, we were informed that nobody knew when he would be in. Very disappointed in this hotel.
I am reading these reviews and I am so confused. Ive been in Old Marriott hotels that need serious updating, but they at least respect the Marriott name. This hotel is nothing like that, my windows are dirty and my room smells. I am going to ask that this hotel is taken off my companys preferred list. I am pretty sure this was a Days Inn, and it feels like it. For 18 dollars more I could have stayed in a Residence around the corner.
We all very much enjoyed our stay.We were in NY for a 90th Birthday party. So all of our plans were done over the phone and online. The staff was very accommodating. We needed a xtra bed in the room for my GreatGrandDaughter and it was perfect for her.We would stay again.Everything is right there on the strip. And 2 restaurants within a 2minute walk or less.So in closing we would like to say Thank You.Great Friendly Staff.and lovely Rooms. Thank You,
I was not apprised of construction in progress when I made my reservation. Parking was very tight and I did not see any sign as we drove around the building in the dark, advising of a temporary entrance and service desk. The room itself, was fine. I would stay again once all work is finished.
Our stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful. It was so very nice that on our way back to Albany we drove just to stay at the hotel again. Being late at night there did have a room available for 3 of us and we were very happy that there was a room.If every in the Albany East Greenbush area we would without a doubt stay at the Fairfield.
From the moment checking in to checking out the hotel was under construction. The hotel staff made no effort in letting me know this was happening during my stay. The hotel did not have a lobby, gym, pool or restaurant/breakfast area. The hotel hallways had dirt and debri from construction. The hotel made NO effort in making my stay any better, not even 1 bottle of water. I was very disappointed.
Very disappointed in staff. I am from the south where southern hospitality is the utmost importance. I guess this just shows the differences in locations and how staff have no ability to try and accommodate and overcome dissatisfaction of customers. I was also told he would add some points to my account to help offset the issue. Of course that too did not happen. Hope whomever reads this review sees what the trend is there.
The Fairfield provided a pleasant room and the staff was always attentive and helpful. The hotel is in the midst of renovations in which they are updating guest rooms and modifying the first floor to provide a fitness room. During my stay I was given a free pass to Planet Fitness for the week, which was great.
I enjoyed my stay at Fairfield Inn Albany East Greenbush because of the friendly, helpful staff and cleanliness. The breakfast was great with a wide range of good food and beverages. Twenty four hour coffee available was a plus. Overall appearance was clean and orderly. I will stay there again on my next visit to the Albany area.

2022-05-02I expected better service and amenities considering the pay ($131). First, I booked a room for 4 people and there were only three towels. On my way out I asked for an extra towel to be brought to my room, got back and there was no extra towel. Elevator was broken and we were on the 4th floor. When we got back at night, no soap, shampoo, or conditioner. Bathtub was clearly not cleaned from previous guests (we found three hairs in it). Then at about 3am I woke up because it was very hot. I realized that the air conditioner was off. I turned it on and nothing happened. I lowered the temperature to the lowest setting and it did not work. I finally called the front desk and all they did was offer to move to a different room (wake up my kids and get all of our stuff at 3am), to which I declined. After a while the air conditioner started working on and off, and eventually got to a more comfortable temperature. Staff was courteous, but useless. Their apology did not feel sincere. I was disappointed with everything.

2021-12-29Words can not express how nice my stay was. But I will try! After a number of poor stays in other hotels in the area, I was so pleased to be staying with this hotel. I had arrived super late at night due to numerous delays, and showed up well past 1AM the night of, and yet there was someone at the counter waiting to check me in. I knew right then and there that I would be well taken care of. I was here over a month in the late summer months on an extended business trip. The staff gave me a clean room that got a full room clean once a week, always had a decent breakfast (not extravagant, but always was hot), and treated me with the utmost respect. You never really feel at home on the road, but this hotel and its staff certainly did. Added to the fact that I was on the road, I was also working nights. They gave me a room that was on the hallway that I presumed was the last one to be filled with bookings, as I never did hear anyone in the halls even in the middle of the day while I was sleeping. On numerous occasions, the front staff even gave me directions to local attractions when I had a free afternoon on the weekends. They pointed me to local golf courses, the downtown Albany sights, local shopping malls, and I even made a trip to Saratoga, all with crystal clear directions.I had only two minor issues the entire six weeks I was here. One, the pool was closed (I presume it was due to COVID protocols or maintenance), either of which I totally understood. The other was a billing issue which the manager Bonnie fixed next day.I cant recommend Bonnie, Dawn, Caitlin and the rest of the Fairfield Inn staff enough for a wonderful stay. I recommend this place to all the family and friends that I have visit me in the Albany area.

2022-06-05Stayed here while attending a friends wedding in Ghent Ny. It’s about a 30 minute drive. Staff was very welcoming at check in. The rooms are clean with comfy beds and a free breakfast. Only need was the ac did not work right. Great location right of 90 near Albany.

2022-04-21Our go-to hotel to make our drive home more palatable. Bed is very comfortable and TV could use an upgrade, but we bring our Roku.

2022-05-10Positive: Convenient location, clean, and friendly front desk staff. All worked well. Nice breakfast choices. Negative: Elevator was out of service, one treadmill was out of service.

2022-05-15Breakfast was great. Customer service was great. The room had a musty stuffy smell to it.

2021-10-13One of the best hotel experiences I have had despite not being the fanciest place. Room was very clean, breakfast was good and well attended to. Most importantly, the front desk lady was absolutely stellar. She was super helpful when I needed information regarding a wedding shuttle... went above and beyond really. She really makes people feel like theyre the biggest priority at the hotel. Overall an excellent stay.

2021-10-08I had stayed in this hotel a few years ago so I figured I would stay again. Its conveniently located by I-90. This time, the hotel seemed a little dingy. The first room I was given smelled very musty. The staff was quick to help me and got me a different room which was much cleaner. Still, everything felt a little worse for wear. The bed was comfy and clean, the wi-fi was fast. The TV didnt have very good service and there was no option to use Netflix, etc. The bathroom was small and the shower had an old curtain which was dirty and smelled bad. The room was very serviceable for one night but thats about it. The included breakfast and free coffee were decent but nothing special. The staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

2021-08-23We stayed one night in August 2021. We found the location to feel safe and clean. We had an easy check-in and check-out with friendly employees. Drinks and snacks are available in the lobby and Denny’s and Cracker Barrel restaurants are right next door. We were pleased to have a mini fridge in the room. I found the pillows to be very comfortable as abundant. Everything in our room worked properly and our room had no cleanliness issues. The hot breakfast was pretty good. The hotel itself is a little worn and there is a slight odor in the hallways and elevator, which is the only negative thing I have to say. Parking was good.

2021-10-18Nothing overly exciting about the hotel. Room and lighting were a bit dated and suboptimal. Only one slow elevator that needed a damp rid container to help with mustiness. I liked the toiletry setup in the shower. Breakfast was basic, but only one toaster was available, so the wait to get anything like a bagel, toast, or English muffin was longer than should have been. Check in and check out were quick and staff was pleasant. Missed the entrance the first time because the sign wasn’t lit up and was obscured by trees/brush. Can’t speak to the gym at I didn’t use it, pool was closed for the season.
