Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Buffalo AmherstUniversity in Buffalo
On 08/08/2021 hotel manager, did not provide towels for 4 hours ( 7:06 am to 10:00 am EST ) We were ready to check out on that day with little kids, all our towels were wet, I went several times down to the front desk. She even stopped other staff members who are ready to provide. She was not even bluntly refusing and saying we will provide when available. After 10:00 am when we were checking out we saw towels were left beside the door on the floor where everyone walk ( pictures are available for evidence ). We do not use towels placed on the floor to wipe our face or body.
I want to start out by saying this was the second time weve stayed at this location. The first time was exactly what we would expect. Which is why we stayed again. This stay was frustrating as our week wore on. From check in time we should have seen that things were ominous. The staff was friendly, but we had to wait an hour to check-in because of a laundry issue keeping our room from being ready. Others had to wait, as well. We were offered cookies and drinks from the little on-site market. The breakfast was all pre-packaged pastries and cereals with a few pieces of fruit (some days banana, others oranges). We had stayed at a Fairfield in Ohio on the way up and they at least had prepackaged warm breakfast sandwiches. We ended up having to eat at restaurants each morning. We received no housekeeping services for the duration of our stay (we checked in on a Monday and left on Friday). We did have our do not disturb hanger on the door Tuesday only. This was the biggest frustration. If there was some change to the housekeeping policy it was not posted anywhere in the hotel. Really, it would have been nice if someone could have at least come in and take out the trash from the trash bins and give us clean towels. But that didnt happen and we went to front desk to get fresh towels. When I mentioned housekeeping not coming by, the guy at the desk said hed get us fresh towels but offered no explanation for why housekeeping didnt do it.Anyways, the staff we interacted with was friendly. The hotel was clean in common areas, and wed probably try this location again because we understand the difficulties that businesses have faced in the current environment.
OUTSTANDING staff but prebooking communication could be better. We were unaware hot breakfast was temporarily discontinued or that housekeeping was so limited due to staffing issues which would have affected our hotel choice. Rooms are very nice, spacious, with comfortable furniture. Will gladly return once full service is restored.
We brought our parents to visit Niagara Falls and found our stay at Fairfield Inn to be great. The hotel is pet friendly, which is an added bonus. The location has convenient and private pathways in the back to walk the dogs. Local amenities including food was easy to find. In fact I used GrubHub to have food delivered from area restaurants a few times during our stay. Staff was courteous and facilities very clean. Access to highway is very convenient. We would definitely stay at Fairfield Inn again!
This is an adequate room with plenty of space. Good outlets/USB access. There were no healthy options for breakfast. Everything had sugar added to it. No fresh fruit. The housekeeping is still not available and there is no staff available to switch out towels or remove full trash after several days. The hotel has an adequate pool, gym and small patio with fire pit.
We were looking for a place to stay post Niagara Falls and came across this hotel. We were initially unsure what to expect as it was a 2 star hotel. However, when we arrive, we were surprised. The room was clean and comfy and the property offers free breakfast and free parking. I love the extra touches too, such as a complimentary cookie at the front desk. Makes the whole experience amazing!
Really lovely new feeling hotel located close to everything but quiet and peaceful. Very unhappy with the uselessness of the pool (too shallow for pool running, too short for more than one stroke in exercise).People were friendly and responsive. Check in was seamless, staff knowledgeable about the area.Very unhappy with the excessive use of plastic in the breakfast. Individually plastic wrapped plastic spoons just to eat individualized plastic cups of yogurt? Cant we do better, Marriott? Cant you buy a dishwasher and use actual stainless steel utensils? Are you so concerned with theft of spoons? Lead, dont follow in our quest to limit damage to the planet. Go back to washing dishes. Provide crockery AND paper cups for coffee. It is not so hard, you do it in Europe.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The location was perfect for exploring downtown Buffalo, Niagara Fall, Lockport and other surrounding areas. The stay was very attentive and helpful especially Ally at the front desk and Noah in room management. Well for sure stay here again!
Can’t say enough good about this hote. The staff are all excellent and the facility is new and clean. The pool and hot tub, as well as the gym all great. Beds comfy. Nice safe area for walks and runs. Adjacent to UB North Campus and related housing but quiet even during the school year!
The front desk staff was always helpful. I called them several times before arriving for my stay. Ally (not sure if this is the correct spelling of her name) was always so kind and helpful. There are a couple of young gentlemen who worked the front desk also. They were so wonderful with helping me with info about the city. Check in was quick. The hotel is in a great location. We were there for a softball tournament and we would stay there again. I didn’t really have any breakfast but it was available. The hotel was quite. We didn’t have any issues with noise.
This establishment recent built, everything looks brand new. The room appares to be extra clean and very comfortable, and staffs are super friendly. My only concern was that, I didnt see any santizing during the 3 days stay. Amidst we are still in a pandemic, some sanitizing and wiping in common area would be pleasing to see; just because the area is not in any bad shape, it doesnt guarantee all the visitors come from a safe state.
This is a fantastic find for me in Buffalo area, near University of Buffalo and Amherst, so many restaurants and shops in walking distance and in close proximity of hotel. The parking lot is safe and secure and the whole hotel was immaculate with excellent customer service. Especially loved the patio off the lobby for late night conversations!
Nice facilities and was very clean and professional. However it seemed understaffed because there was rarely anyone at the desk and I only ever saw 1 staff member at a time for the whole hotel. The breakfast was awful. They put out small prepacked pastries and milk with cereal. Part of choosing this hotel was because it said it had breakfast included but I ended up having to buy breakfast somewhere to ease my hunger.
My family is driving cross country from upstate New York to California. It was our 3rd stop and we were really tired and run down. The friendly staff upgraded our hotel for free and put my family (2 adults, 2 young kids, and 2 dogs) in a 2bed suite. It made a huge difference to us and made the trip way more enjoyable. The pool was warm, the food delicious and staff friendly.
I was so glad I chose this place to stay in my visit to Niagra Falls. It was about 20 minutes from the Falls but I had a car so this was not a big deal. It was updated and very clean. My only criticism was that there was often times when there was not someone available at the front desk. Overall great stay and would stay again if visiting the area.
Super clean and nice hotel. The best part were the people that worked there. Every single person was a pleasure to speak to always felt that everyone really cared for our family to be happy there. The front ladies that we dealt with were fantastic and made my daughters very happy. There was a gentlemen in the morning the following day that had come into the pool back room to check something I do not remember his name. But he was a very kind person and came back and found us a ball for my daughters to play with and was always a pleasure to speak to. And I would like to comment that our rooms washroom might have been the cleanest we have seen, it looked brand new. My daughters want to know when we are going back :)
Was so excited to stay at this new hotel. At check in the staff member was very nice and wonderful. We had issues getting the internet to connect to our phones. Connected once but then could not get it to connect a second time. The hot tub was wonderful. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Room temperature was extremely hot and were unable to get the room to cool down, even when turning the system completely off. Stayed too hot for sleeping comfortably all night. Our bathroom was almost out of toilet paper so had to go downstairs to ask for more. Discovered the hair conditioner in tub was empty. In the morning the breakfast area was not maintained. Saw no breakfast staff in area. The food was not stocked and area was very messy and dirty. We left and had breakfast elsewhere. Heard other people in area saying they kept running out of coffee in the dispensers. The value for the money would have been great had things been stocked properly in the rooms and breakfast area and had the heating and cooling system been able to be adjusted better.
You will not be disappointed with your stay at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with the location, being very quiet and in a nice neighbourhood. The hotel itself being relatively new is bright and colourful when you enter the lobby. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The food for breakfast is really good with lots of choices as well as good hot great coffee ! We will definitely stay there again.
Minimal benefits recognized as a platinum elite member at this property. Enhanced internet was unavailable, staff did not respond to Bonvoy chat requests for additional toiletries, toiletries ran out by second night of stay and was not refilled, and staff constantly asked when I would be checking out and did not recognize late checkout.
My stay, with my sister, was perfect. We were in the area for a funeral and this hotel, although hard to find, was perfect. The room was exceptional and the shower - wonderful wonderful wonderful. The breakfast was good, ran out of fruit too soon. The fitness room was well equipt, but the floor was wet due to people in the pool and there was no air, should have a fan or something. Overallm excellent!!!!
Everything from parking lot to the room was new, clean & spacious. Staff were friendly & helpful and check in & out were easy. Loved the pool & hot tub especially being open till midnight which allowed me to unwind after a long hard day. Appreciated the breakfast items for those trying to eat more healthily. In the morning discovered a plaza across the street with a range of restaurants. Overall great - will gladly return.
My husband took me there for my birthday getaway. Hotel is out of the way and at the end of the street. Very quiet not near busy highways or busy streets. Food is excellent, breakfast had beautiful cheese omelets, turkey sausage or patties. Healthy choices in breads or fruits. Everything was very fresh. At night coffee, tea, and mmmmmmmm cookies. Fresh favored water which I saw them change often. The spa was wonderful, and a pool with warm water. Extra bath towels were left in our room without even requesting them. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel. The tv had great channels as well as all the popular internet channels. Loved the separate Livingroom. Dont miss this gem of a hotel.
Very new, very nice hotel. Airconditioner was a bit loud, but that seems to be normal in most US hotels. Friendly service, and amazing beauty products (loved the shampoo so much that I found it at my hairdresser and bought it right away). Super clean. Good breakfast with waffles, porridge, toast, bagels, eggs, bacon and sausage, etc. The location was good, and we felt safe. Most likely a good spot to visit college kids. A decent selection of restaurants was nearby, but not anything else that was worthy of a stop (other than resting in between states).
I had an initial cleanliness issue in the bathroom (hairs on shower stall floor & bench, hairs on bathroom floor), so I was upgraded to a larger room. That room also had cleanliness issues in the bathroom, so the night manager cleaned it. No other issues in the room. It was nicely appointed with good TV channel selections with a TV guide that made it easy to find something to watch. Breakfast was pretty good except for the link sausage. It suffered from the same problem as all Fairfield Inns: watery sausage. I wish they would fry it. The staff were extremely apologetic, empathetic, professional, helpful, & just plain nice. Let them recommend restaurants to you & follow them! We were recommended The Anchor Bar, which is where buffalo wings were invented!! It was delicious & the staff there were very nice, as well. Overall, everything was lovely. The price was great, the location was fairly close to Niagara Falls, & we three decided we’d stay there in the future!
This hotel is very poor. If having stay in the Buffalo area/near The University of Buffalo, please consider a different hotel. I am sure you can find much better in the same area. In fact, there is another, better hotel right across the street! My husband and I recently stayed here out of town for a wedding but, we are originally from Buffalo. We stayed here because this is the hotel the bride booked for out of town wedding guests, with a discounted rate. If we had had a choice, we would DEFINITELY NOT have stayed here! Here are the problems we encountered during our stay:1. The smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors on the wall, near the bed blink a bright green light CONSTANTLY! It is very bright at night and shines right in your face when you are trying to sleep. We did eventually get it fixed and Tyler at the front desk was very helpful in the fact that he came up to our room and put tape over the blinking lights. This seemed to fix the problem but, it was still an annoyance that we had to deal with and bring to their attention.2. We ended up staying on the 4th floor at the time. (August 15th-18th) The ice machine on our floor was out of order. Every time we needed ice, we had to go down to the 3rd floor. Very annoying!3. Both the AC and the fridge in the room are very loud in general.4. The hot tub in the pool area is not very hot at all! It is more like lukewarm bath water.Even though the hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, overall, this is not a nice hotel and we would not recommend staying here! If given the choice during this trip, we would have stayed somewhere else.
Great looking facility with spacious rooms. Sadly WiFi cannot be counted on and this has to be the worst experience in any Marriott property I have stayed in this year. This clearly needs an upgrade. Normal voice levels in the hallway and or doors closing can be easily heard in the room so expect to be woken up earlier than expected.
The room was clean, the staff from the front desk and the housekeeping were polite. But the swimming pool is not clean, lots of white bubbles in the hot tub and we saw hairs, dirt in the pool, used towels on the floor. The breakfast experience was horrible. Only one lady was working in the breakfast area. We came at 9:30 and all we could have was only a pot of eggs the cold cereals and the waffle machine which had a long line waiting for making the waffles. No oatmeal.. no fruits.. no bread.. no hot water.. the breakfast area looks empty! When I asked her if there is any bread that she can bring from the kitchen, she just put four slices of cold toast from the fridge. And she immediately removed EVERYTHING when the clock hits 10, even the waffle batter (dont know if they can reuse those batter) and turned off the juice dispenser. And her attitude was very rude. The breakfast room was also dirty. Considering this is a new hotel, the management might need some improvements. Will probably not return to the hotel.
We went for two night to relax and sleep and eat in and we did just that. The room was very big, clean and comfortable. It has two tvs and amazing sectional sofa that turned into a bed. The bathroom was large and spacious. The breakfast had a huge variety of food which was amazing.
The hotel itself was great. The front desk staff were pleasant and the room was very spacious. Housekeeping was horrible at taking care of the room. I would say the did maybe 10% of what they are supposed to do. They took my tip, made my bed and that was it!! Bathroom was never cleaned and nothing was replaced ( toiletries, coffee, toilet paper, etc)
The beds were wicked comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel itself was nice. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Close to lots of attractions. 30 minute ish drive to Niagra Falls. The breakfast the kids said was good. I couldnt really eat because of allergies. So I got the last apple hoping they would put out more fruit but they didnt even though it was only 8am.
This must be a new hotel because everything was immaculate. The service was friendly, the room was really nice and the complimentary breakfast was good. The only thing that would have been better is if it was within walking distance to shopping. Because it was near the Buffalo University campus off the highway, there was nothing nearby and you had to drive in a circle to get to Niagara Falls Blvd. We had a car so wasnt big deal but it would have been difficult to walk anywhere. Overall great hotel...also has free parking, gym, hot tub and small pool.
We stayed at this hotel during our visit to the Niagara Falls. The room was decent but breakfast crew was understaffed. Only one server was trying to handle many guests. Omelet was watery and cold. Fruit didn’t look fresh and it looked like it was couple of days old. Most of the items were not refilled quickly and adequately since only one server couldn’t keep up. We kind of felt bad for the only server. I wouldn’t recommend if you are looking for decent breakfast.
Turns out that the Fairfield Inn was much nicer than expected. It is nearly new, clean and nicely decorated. Rooms are bigger than expected- we had a suite, and the bed was very comfortable, slept well! Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices, all fresh pastries, bread and fruit. Cost was reasonable, too. And staff were responsive and solicitous. One more night there, well see how it goes the night before Eagles-Bills (Were all Philly, Eagles fans!)!
We enjoyed the Fairfield Suites very much when visiting our son at UB. Nice room, very convenient and pleasant front desk staff. I would stay again. Our only problem is our room wasnt cleaned on Saturday so we had to request clean towels for our Sunday am showers. Easily fixed and otherwise a good value.
We checked in for 3 nights at fairfield inn at buffalo on a trip to niagara .It was a very nice hotel with clean spacious rooms, good service with a reasonable pricing . Special shout out to the front desk person Mr.Ryan who was welcoming and accomated all our needs .!Would love to come back again !!
Hotel is as described. Looks like new hotel, rooms clean and comfortable. Tv viewing a plus with kids — we were able to watch Stranger Things on Netflix! :) We enjoyed our stay, and we will be returning for another night on our way back to Boston. Breakfast is definitely more than adequate. Only minor thing is that the line was very very long for waffle maker. Would be better if there was another machine. But not a deal breaker.
We have young children so we pick hotels that have pool and breakfast included. We took family holiday to see Niagara Falls and spent 2 nights at this hotel. No elite status welcome bag, no fruit out for after workouts by coffee, constant noise at 4am (nothing done by staff) They ran out of breakfast foods and did not replenish. No meat, bread, fruit. So, I had to take family out for breakfast spending $55.26 on breakfast that I hadnt budgeted. I contacted management, who refused to comp my stay and pretty much said oh well, we dont care. They refunded $50. Thats it. After giving 2 decades of loyalty to Marriott (many years platinum) I am thinking our days are numbered.
Traveled here for power restoration and this place was extremely hospitable. As it is hard to find food places when you are traveling with hundreds of peers, this place went above and beyond to supply food for us. The rooms were immaculate and the people were beyond kind. Stayed for several days and each day the rooms were completely cleaned with a fine tooth comb.
This New Facility is Modern, Comfortable, Clean, Bright and has a Great Staff! The Breakfast selections need a bit more Variety in the egg option. Otherwise, wonderful place to stay.Driving Tip- you have to turn on Rensch Road behind the Villa’s Apartments to reach the hotel.
Loved the big bright bathroom. Nice open lobby. Snack store! Great clean warm pool and hot tub open untill midnight. The only thing keeping them from 5 Stars is the front desk calling at 12:02pm while I was on my way out the door for noon checkout. Slow your roll and chill! 10-30 minute leeway is common at 99% of places. Calling at 12:02 is rude.
Dont stay at this hotel if you plan on having a hockey team there with young or older kids. They will not let the kids enjoy themselves and will always be on the parents case. Not worth the stress to the parents when you already have 15 kids excited to play with each other in the hotel. We even moved all the kids in the pool area and the staff still came to complain that they were to loud. This hotel is only good for single families.
This was our first time staying at a Fairfield Inn because we usually only go to the Courtyard by Marriot, but this place was just as good. We love the Marriot chain. Never had any problems. The facility is nice and clean, staff is very helpful, rooms are comfortable and we always enjoy ourselves in this franchise. Keep up the good work all around. The Marriot franchise will always get my money.
Clean hotel. Besides that, the loudest hotel of this trip! We went to bed at 10:30pm with the parking lot 1/3 full. The entire hotel filled up between 11pm-4am and we heard every guest. It was hours of doors slamming, showers running and people running up and down the halls. There were guests standing with their door open yelling to family in another room. 🤦Called the desk about the suite next door as well as asking for a manager in the morning. We didnt receive a call as promised. We will be avoiding this hotel at all costs for future trips.
Clean hotel. Good breakfast with many choices. Lobby/lounge clean. Staff friendly. Check you bill at checkout that room rates haven’t been adjusted without your knowledge. Be aware that cots are blow up mattresses on floor at an additional cost. Pool clean - fun family hotel.
New hotel in Amherst NY within the Marriott Banner. Great Customer Service from time of check-in to check-out. Great breakfast area with such a variety of food items. Hotel room had that new hotel smell ;) - Very quiet. Hotel allows guests to use Streaming (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) using your own personal logon - (Great) - TV had LOTS of HD channels. Close to University of Buffalo - and close to Maple Ave and Transit Road for shopping! Truly will use this hotel again on trips to Amherst/Buffalo area.
While the hotel is nicely appointed and clean it is only good to stay at if you are on a sports team. In July while I stayed there baseball teams were there. The parents of the players deemed it their space. You could not get near the breakfast area, and the parents party on the patio could be heard at all hours in my 4th floor room. Even though it was a bad experience. I have the hotel another chance. I took my family this past weekend. Hockey teams were in. When we checked in the kids were playing hockey in the hallways. When we returned after dinner, I had to raise my tv volume multiple times because of the kids in the hallway. At 11:30 my family unable to sleep. I went in the hall to find 10-15 unsupervised youth riding stools in the hallway making noise and more. I yelled at them that people were trying to sleep and they should go back to their room. I tried calling the front desk no answer. I went to the front desk to find a number of other guest there who were also upset. The parents of the hockey players were partying in the lobby. No manager was at the front desk. When one arrived she said this always happens when we have sports teams. After eventually getting some sleep we woke to go have breakfast downstairs. On the elevator it lookedi like the inside of the doors had been spit on. The hockey teams were all over the breakfast area, no one could get near. Even if not currently eating they took up all the seats and you could not get near the food. I sent an email to Marriott that morning, no response. I called Marriott the Monday I got home. May case file was closed without anyone talking to me. I got disconnected while talking to a supervisor. Only after posting all this details on my guest survey to Marriott did the hotel actually respond saying that they were sorry I did not have a restful night Friday night. Too little too late. If you are a sports team this is the place for you. If not good luck at being a valuable guest and having a restful stay
Vacation out of California is a must once in awhile. Out of a hundred hotels to choose from I find Fairfield Inn in Buffalo to be the best comfortable place to stay, not cheap but I guess it’s worth my money. People who work in the hotel are so welcoming, clean room, clean breakfast, and buffalo is so country to me.. also it’s an easy access to go to Canada. This hotel is the right fit for me. short vacation but unforgettable experience. To God be the glory amen.
We loved their service, their decor and the best breakfast buffet ever. They had three types of eggs, three types of cereal, waffles, oatmeal with various toppings, different types of cakes and scones. Juice, milk, coffee and tea. This is the best breakfast buffet Ive had in a 3 start hotel.
We enjoyed the Fairfield inn suites hotel. We were in Buffalo NY for a weekend of AAU basketball. We are a family of 5 and love the 2 queen bed suite. This room is perfect for a large family. The suite offers a large couch that folds out and gives an extra bed at night and plenty of room to sit during the day!! Also the suite is a little larger than a regular room so you don’t feel like your on stepping around everyone and their junk!
Had a room on the first floor and couldnt pull the privacy curtains closed because the track didnt go across. The shear ones did, but I didnt feel like I had enough privacy. My main problem was the outside lights during the night. There was no blackout curtain to keep the light out so didnt have a real night. The room stayed brighter than a night lite but just dimmer that a lamp.
Fairfield has become our “go to” hotel no matter where we travel, and the Fairfield Buffalo/Amherst is just another reason why. We got to Buffalo earlier than expected, but they let us check in early and get our car unloaded and unpacked before headed to my parents place. Wonderful hotel, friendly staff, and spacious rooms. Breakfast was great, and, being Marriott BonVoy members makes check in and out quick and painless. We will continue to stay at Fairfield and other Marriott hotels.
Very very be careful. DO NOT BOOK IT!!! They change my two queen beds room to one king bed room without any notice when I check in. Then, I contact them. They told me there is no available room. The hotel told me that they dont take care of the room booked from Expedia. I am tired when I arrive there. Ive waste an hour here. I plan to take an hour snap then take a tour nearby previously. However, this inn ruin my plan and good mood. This is terrible experience. Wont order the series of this hotel anymore.Below part is added a day later:Dont believe any positive reviews of this inn from Expedia. Normally, people prefer share the terrible experience on the review part. I cannot find my record of this Inn from my Expedia account. They removed my reservation record. However, Ive download and print out my Itinerary. I paid $ 231.34 for 1 night.Below is added a month later:I noticed that the hotel removed their location from Google map a week later my review. Then, I cant find my review during that time. Thez cunning hotel changed its location a little west. However, the AI of Google is so smart 😉. It tracks the terrible hotel. My review comes back now.
My daughter and I were visiting SUNY Buffalo. This was an excellent location and great place to stay. The staff was very professional and friendly. The rooms are very modern and beautiful. The breakfast was amazing too! I will definitely stay here again in the future.
The room was nice, amenities very nice as well 5 stars for those but didnt get much rest due to the chaos and noise even when moved to another room (which was appreciated) still interrupted by the massive amount of noise in every hallway. Horrible experience. Not sure if at all possible but when there is school or sport team of children being booked, try to seperate (ie opposite sides of the building) other guest that are there for work or other business purposes.
We enjoyed our stay, we were given a great room, very nicely furnished, the TV was the best, I was able to see Netflix, YouTube and listen to Pandora. I was able to listen to the Rev Dr John-Howard Wesley... And, that was the best... Will be going back because our daughter is a freshman at the University of Buffalo class of 2021...
The handicap accessibility of the room was well thought out. The room and bathroom had plenty of room for moving around in a wheelchair, use of a patient lift and a shower chair. It was helpful that the room had a connecting door to the next room for others in our group.
Good place to stay near Niagara Falls State Park.. Staffs are good.. Friendly services..Room of this hotel is big.. spacious..Reasonable price.. Complimentary breakfast that was nice. Good dining space..clean..Comfortable bed..Free parking..good market place.. overall good hotel.. I liked this place..
When we come to Buffalo, we generally come to visit my daughter and attend a Sabres game. We always stay at the Marriott Harbor Center, downtown. This time around we stayed at the new Fairfield by Marriott just down the road from the university as my daughter just graduated from SUNY Buffalo. Convenient, clean, great staff! Fast internet and great breakfast (while certainly not gourmet, it was quick and easy with many choices)We look for Marriott wherever we travel!
Zero noise proofing between rooms. Can hear people going to washroom next door. Packed with screaming kids who run around the hallways. Can hear every little noise from hallway to rooms above you. Forget any sleep. Found hair in bathtub. For a new hotel, never again.
VERY CLEAN. The only gripe I had was the way the room doors shut, I could hear people closing their room doors. They would close loudly. First I thought it was a noisy family but it was all the doors. Overall, that wouldnt deter me from how clean the place was and the responsive staff.
When you only get one chance to impress me, Fairfield Inn & Suites nailed it! Very nice and comfortable property with a staff that actually smiled at you when they spoke said a lot! I will return to Fairfield at this location again because of the terrific first impression.
New/ clean/ nice, but price was extremely expensive ($220). This is way beyond reasonable especially it is not located in great location. I have stayed in another branch in downtown Chicago, very touristic area for only $110. Basically 50% of this, and a lot better location.
This is nice facility a little difficult to get to and overall the accommodations are clean and the food overall was good - main reason for stay there for a hockey tournament I was very disappointed with the management and the way they treated our team would not recommend any traveling group teams to stay there
2nd time staying at this hotel...1st time was mediocre, but decided to give them a 2nd shot ....customer service is terrible, gave me a room that the room temp was 92° and not cool off....it took 20 mins and had to go back down to the desk to get a new room after the manager told us he would get us a new one....it took 10 mins for anyone to come to the desk when we checked in.
If you travel with a dog, this is your place. If you dont, you may want to reconsider your options. If you must stay at this hotel, be sure to request that you are not put on the dog floor. Barking dogs in the next room annoyed us at night and awoke us early in the morning.

2022-07-04Great location, lots of parking, friendly staff. Breakfast and pool available. Still no housecleaning service for rooms. No inspections showing in elevators (something I prefer readily available). Pet friendly. Dogs were obsessively barking at 11 pm on floor 3. And a small dog with no leash ran at us in the hallway barking and growling. Also someone had their small dog at the booth with them while eating breakfast and carried them around all the food. No one was at front desk entire time as this happened and the dog barked at people and growled. So this was the only issue for us while we stayed.

2022-05-18Clean hotel, friendly staff, great amenities. Pool open until midnight is a plus and fitness center 24 hours. The only complaint I have is that breakfast is served until 10:30 am on weekend, but most of the breakfast items they boast were gone at 9am Sunday (Greek yogurt, silk almond milk, syrup for waffles, hot chocolate)

2022-04-10No complaints. Room was very nice; great shower and room is well laid out. Solid standard breakfast. Very safe and quiet neighborhood, near university. Did not use any of the facilities - was there just for the one night.

2022-06-30With having staying at this hotel multiple times, and now having a toddler who’s unable to walk and just crawl I’ve never realized how truly dirty the rooms are. He showered at night woke in the morning and was crawling around and within an hour both of his legs were completely covered in dirt due to the carpets being unclean. Time for an upgrade Marriott

2021-09-30We stayed at the Fairfield Inn for 6 nights. We had 3 rooms, one of which was handicapped accessible. We had an elderly adult, 4 teenagers and 2 adults. We had many requests and all of them were met with friendly, professional attention. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. Even the teenagers said the hotel felt like home each time we walked in the door. The free cookies at the desk were delicious and appreciated. The Corner Market in the lobby was a great perk, we bought many snacks and drinks during our stay. Breakfast had a lot of great options and hot drinks and water were available all day and night. The pool and hot tub were clean and fun for the teenagers. The toiletries provided in the bathrooms were so much nicer than most small hotel bottles. The shower was huge, the beds were comfortable and we felt like we were in a central location to all the parts of Buffalo and Niagara that we visited. I would definitely stay here again when in Buffalo. Thanks for a great stay!

2021-09-10Our stay here was very brief because we were traveling, yet it really left an amazing impression on us. We checked in extremely late because we were in traffic. We had called ahead and they made sure our rooms that we had reserved would be ready and available when we got there. When we arrived the woman at the check in desk seen how exhausted we were and made it as quick and painless as possible. Our rooms were very clean and we had no issues at all and I was very happy how the cleaning staff keeps the rooms maintained. Our family enjoyed the breakfast that the hotel offered in the morning before we got back onto the road again to finish our traveling and when we checked out at the desk they had fresh made cookies for the guests. In my opinion this Marriott goes above and beyond and I am happy to recommend them to anyone! All the staff there are amazing and it truly shows how cared for the guests are when we stayed here! THANK YOU!

2022-01-17My husband and I often come to Buffalo for football games, and typically get a hotel to sleep at after the games. The night we checked into Fairfield inn we were actually originally booked at another hotel. This other hotel did not provide us with a clean room but also did not offer any solutions to fix the problem. This resulted in me having to call other area hotels at 2am the night of a football game trying to get an immediate room last minute. I eventually called the Fairfield Inn and spoke with Bridget(who was so helpful) and she informed us they had 1 room left. We immediately went over checked-in and Bridget even walked us up to our room to make sure everything was fine. We definitely plan on staying here in the future now when we come to Buffalo.

2021-10-19We checked in late Fri and the staff made sure we checked in quickly. Breakfast was included with this stay which saved us time and allowed us to plan out our morning at the college. The location is walking distance to the university. Overall the stay was very enjoyable. Staff and accommodations were exceptional. Gym was decent and the property was well maintained and we felt safe here.

2021-09-05Staff was friendly from beginning to end. Understandably, because of COVID the rooms aren’t cleaned daily. The hallways, lobby, and elevators were always clean. There were a lot of breakfast options to choose from and the area was always kept clean. The patio in the back was great to sit back and relax after a long day. My husband was able to enjoy smoking his cigar away from others without having to be banished to the parking lot or a bench out front as in other hotels. We did not use the gym nor the pool, so cannot comment about them. Proximity to UB is a plus! Looking forward to another stay here soon!

2021-10-09We stayed at Fairfield Inn & Suites Buffalo Amherst/University October 1-3, 2021 for Parents / Homecoming weekend at University at Buffalo. My wife and I met at UB, and our daughter now goes there. We were very impressed with the hotel and the staff. The hotel lobby and breakfast area was modern and spacious. The room was clean, modern and spacious as well. And last, the staff were among the most professional, courteous, and welcoming that I have encountered. Well done!!
