Just arrived and had a very minor issue with my room. The staff took my concerns very seriously and offered me a different room despite already resolving the initial issue. Maritza at the front desk is very kind and patient, and the housekeeping staff are so caring. Looking forward to the rest of my stay!
Very nice and clean hotel. Its a gem in the city of Brooklyn. The staff were very nice and helpful. With a awesome breakfast monday-friday 6am-9:30am and Saturday and Sunday 6am -10:00am. They also allowed our fur babies (dog and kitten) to stay with us in the hotel. Thank you for housing us for the week!
We were in Brooklyn for a family wedding, and our entire family was treated with such friendly service! Every staff person was so courteous and helpful. The parking is tight at the hotel but they let us know when a spot freed up. The roof top is a great place to take a drink (good beers in the front desk cooler btw) and see the Brooklyn skyline lit up at nighttime. And they have real NY bagels in the café for breakfast! Great stay!
The hotel location is great. The rooftop view is an awesome spot for a selfie. Really good food and coffee in walking distance. The room was clean and roomy for NYC. Gasoline station nearby for folks who drive into the city. There is onsite parking; however, it is limited and it is first come first serve. Lynette at the front desk from South Carolina was SO HELPFUL! She even gave up her parking spot so we could have a safe place to park. We were transporting some art back to NC and having a parking place was very important to us. Lynette was warm and friendly, which was so welcoming after driving for 10 hours. If you are lucky enough to have Lynette help you, your stay will 10x better!
This hotel checks a lot of boxes. Location is great for tourist adventures. Rooms are small but beds are comfortable. Breakfast is included and had really good options. Snack Bar in the lobby was well stocked with reasonable prices. Rooftop lounge has breathtaking views and plenty of space for relaxing.
We stayed in this hotel just because it was the closest to where we needed to be and it accepts pet (dog). The room was very small and carpets needed deep cleaning, or replaced with hardwood floor. Bed was a bit soft and the comforter cover was not big enough so the comforter kept on coming out.Breakfast was sub-par, but we really didnt care much as long as we get our coffee. We were able to secure parking and able to park our car every night. The hotel staff, especially Richard, is very friendly and helpful. He was the reason that made our stay more pleasant. Thank you Richard!
The hotel is lovely, especially the rooftop terrace. The staff was very helpful in every request made. The only downsides were the breakfast and lack of cleaning. While there are pictures in the lobby showing breakfast fare of fresh fruit and toast, none of that was available. Only yogurt and prepackaged muffins and breakfast sandwiches. The coffee was very good. The lack of making up the room seems to be a byproduct of the pandemic. While the staff were very helpful in sending up clean towels, toilet paper, etc. I expect a hotel room to be cleaned on a daily basis. Only if you arranged for a day in advance would the room be cleaned. I dont think they reduced the prices for this lack of service.
Positive: Clean and comfortable. Beautiful roof top! Negative: I stayed 5 nights and there is no plan for servicing the room. When I asked Housekeeping about this, they replied because of COVID I had to make the request at the front desk. When I did, they still did NOT service the room.
This place has 33 spots for 11 floors of rooms. 1st come 1st serve they say. Then the staff gets an attitude when you ask them where to park when their lot is full, like it is bothering them helping you find a place to park. Then when you say you want to change hotels because your health doesnt allow long distance walking, they will not budge. They give you a parking pass and charge your for the pass to park but never no spots to park. Long story short OK hotel (very small rooms) no room service, will not ever deliver extra towels like they say they will, and if you have a car dont stay! This is not the place if you drive. Also every where it smells of Marijuana!
The stay was fair. The location was great for me as it is close to where my daughter is living. The hotel had fair rates but the customer service was also just fair. The front desk took a long time to answer a call. No notification was given at check-in of no daily room cleaning, optional or otherwise, due to Covid. One side of my room was constantly wet.
The rooms were extremely small, only lighting were small side lamps with weak bulbs, no bathroom ventilation and shower flooded, never received new towels, checked out guests that never checked out so the keycards stopped working, A/C unit made it either too hot or too cold, breakfast is terrible and barely real food so not really a perk considering how much you pay the stay here. Although the breakfast staff were super friendly and helpful. Overall the place was just not what you paid for. If it wasnt the closest hotel to my wedding venue I would not have stayed here (or asked any of my family to either-I was embarrassed that my guests were unhappy for the price I asked them to pay).
The area around the hotel is full of great eateries, breweries, and a quick jaunt to many bus and train lines. The hotel was extremely clean, both in public areas and in my own room. The staff was always friendly and were very responsive to my requests for housekeeping, extending my stay, and even helped me to locate businesses in the area.
Good price. Newer hotel. Noisy air conditioner. Comfortable bed. Couldnt connect to internet. No (zip) water pressure. Outlets were readily available. Nice assortment of restaurants within 2 blocks. Front desk friendly. Found items I could eat among the breakfast offering.
I enjoyed the view from rooftop, absolutely gorgeous! That was something unexpected (greatest surprise!). Hotel itself, and room was very clean. I enjoyed the stay very much. As I mentioned, that I was NOT informed I would need to request the housekeeping if I wanted. I was waiting for my room to be cleaned, was out all day, came home late, realized the room was not cleaned, so I went to ask. That was the first time that I was told I needed to request. I wish I was informed at the time of check in. Also, my room keurig machine was not working, so I asked the front desk, if someone could come to check on the first day, was told someone would, nobody came. So I did the same request on 2nd day, was told someone would come, nobody came. I would have been appreciated if someone could at least called me and provide me the explanation.
The hotel staff and common areas were very nice. The rooftop is great and it was nice to have an area to sit and do work during the day. The breakfast, albeit light, was enough to get you going. I also liked that there was a gym with a decent set of weights and equipments. The main issues I had with the room was how noisy it was. You can hear everything happening in the hallway and when my neighbor watched tv, it felt as if the tv was on in my room. I also wish there was a microwave and/or a coffee maker in the room. That being said, being able to go down to the common area for coffee and to work helped a lot with the above issues. All in all I would go back for a stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites. Our room was quaint and accessible for our needs. The roof top view is really wonderful at night. You can see the Verrazano bridge,Staten Island, and more. Therewasn’t enough complimentary breakfast when we went down for breakfast so we walked back to Atlantic Avenue to Dunkin Donuts. No worries. We’d stay here again.
Location is good. You could do so much more with that wonderful rooftop. Breakfast was very limited (warm up your own sandwich- no ketchup or condiments available) Despite very kind and helpful lady. I have been there before and breakfast was much better. Covid couldn’t really be the excuse anymore: people were allowed to sit inside and coffee was available. Lastly, the charge for parking was unexpected. Staff all kind and wonderful
The room smelled musty from a leaking ac unit. This was reported to the front desk on the first day of a 4 day stay and was never addressed. The room was never cleaned during the stay so we had to ask for towels and soap at the front desk. Even though I paid for parking, when I returned at 9p the lot was completely full. I was told to just park in the fire lane. That night and during the stay I noticed each day at least 6 cars without the required parking pass. Really?? If the front desk people had a clue they would assign a numbered spot at the time the guest checked in and paid. Anyone parking in a spot not paid and assigned to them would have their vehicle towed. I have stayed here before but since the pandemic the service has really tanked.
Positive: The gym was nicely equipped, we loved the art work and murals in the lobby and common areas. The weather was not great, so we were unable to spend time on our patio or in the outdoor spaces/terraces, but we enjoyed the extra large Jenga and the foosball Negative: The terraces had no covered areas, could not spend any time out there due to inclement weather. Sun shades or covered areas would have made have allowed for sitting outside enjoying breakfast or a cup of coffee. The bed was soft but had indentations.
This was a nice place to stay, very clean, friendly staff. The breakfast was included and a nice breakfast. I loved the rooftop which was great! Highly recommended. Also near a lot of train lines, near lots of warehouses. Just 1 block over on 4th avenue is where the restaurants are.
Positive: There was a king size bed. Everything was brand new and sparkling clean. The free continental breakfast was delicious. There is a gorgeous roof top.In the lower level there are a lot of seating areas and games, tvs. Negative: There was a tiny fridge and no microwave! The cable was very limited.I wanted to watch TLC. But no TLC. You had to pay extra for Showtime and Netflix.
No house phone, no air conditioning, shower head shot water all over the bathroom soaking even the toilet paper. No engineer to fix anything. Offered a different room we declined. With an event filled weekend there was no time. Wrapped a towel around shower head to avoid soaking. Sweated in the 77 degree room. Breakfast like vending machine food. Paid $37/night for three nights at registration for parking. Told they never oversell lot, always have a spot, just not the same one. But it isn’t monitored, so the lot was half filled with non paying guests who had read first come first served on website. When there was no spot we were cheerfully offered a parking refund. NOT THE POINT! At 11pm after an all day affair we wanted to PARK, as guaranteed at check in, not get a refund. Too bad, as this is a good looking place to stay, but not up to par for Marriot.
We have an amazing experience, the beds were really comfortable and clean. But the best part of our experience was our interaction with Serena, she took so much care of us and really made us feel welcome and at home and to that you cant put a price on. Definitely shows why marriott is marriott.
Good location, passable continental breakfast, three great lounges (especially the rooftop - what a view!), friendly helpful staff. ....But cleanliness could be improved. Every towel I got had noticeable stains, even when I asked for new fresh ones. Carpet had several stains as well. No separate hand soap from bath soap either. Very solvable problems, but still surprising considering the cost and caliber.Lastly, please note that during COVID times, the staff will *not* clean your room daily unless you request it 24hr in advance. This however is an understandable safety issue that I agree with, and doesnt factor into my cleanliness complaint.
I was assured there would be parking available at the hotel; after driving for 6 hours, when I arrived I was informed that there was none (apparently it is first come, first served-not something I was told when I asked about parking). I then had to drive around Brooklyn, which was completely unfamiliar to me, for over an hour to attempt to find a legal parking spot. Parking is TERRIBLE in Brooklyn-almost non-existent. VERY unhappy about this-all other aspects of the stay were great, though.
In town to drop our kid off at college.. Chose this place because it was close and had suites. Knowing what I know now, I should have listen to my wife and booked a double room at the Hilton.Price: $289.00 per night. Worth it? I dont think so.Service: Noticed an old metric being used as to who gets service.Build Construction/ Quality: The Ceilings are the exposed concrete underfloor of the floor above. The bathroom is a mold factory. Moisture + Wallpaper + Humidity without proper ventilation. Would love to see what the walls look like once the wallpaper is removed... I was breathing in that S#!+!Elevator: The 2nd floor is below ground level. Push down to get there.Location: Not in the best part of town. The construction outside of the property forces pedestrians to use part of the hotel front entry as a sidewalk. Noticed some guest get confused and walk in the road when leaving. SNAFU!Security: None on-site. Constant harassment from hustlers/ beggars outside of the establishment.Would I stay again: No. This place feels like a renovated Motel 6 with a business center.
Booked a room on dayuse.com; thank goodness we only paid $65 because even for a 3 star hotel, I expected at the very least the room would be clean. We found a hair on the toilet and an M & M on the floor between the nightstand and bed. No fridge or microwave. I read on their site its $10 for a fridge. We paid the $35 for parking, they should consider offering it for a cheap price for guests that are staying 8 hours or less. The AC was on in the room and it was cold. The off button didnt work so instead, I turned the heat on🤦♀️ The elevator was clean and the roof top was clean and provided a good view. Also, there is soda, beer, and snacks for purchase in the lobby. We used a debit card (for those who dont have a credit card, this is good), expect an extra $20 charge which is refundable. I guess its like a damage deposit.
Overall, the experience was fine. The room was clean. However, the shower stall had some sealing issues, water leaked out every time after showering. The shower drainage was mostly clogged and wasn’t draining when takin shower. The staff was not too responsive to chats thru the BonVoy app.
I Booked a one night stay through priceline and was charged by priceline and by fairfield-double charged. Worked with sales manager who assured me the fairfield charge wouldnt post and it did 3 days later. When I reached her telling her the charge posted to my account she apologized and stated she sees I was indeed charged by priceline and one of her employees at the front desk charged me by accident but she was going to rectify the situation, she had me fill out a form making it seem as if I was receiving a refund and instead i was yet again charged for the 3rd time and received an email thanking me for my stay as if i came back and stayed at the hotel again!!!. When I contacted her she insisted on telling me I wasnt reading the charge correctly stating I should see a credit to my account and not a charge as if I didnt know how to interpret a credit vs a debit and knowing the charge was taking away from my available balance, not adding to. After that I was livid and decided to no longer deal with the hotel on the matter and contacted my financial institution. In ending I am not here to get anyone in trouble. The sales manager I believe thought she was doing the right thing, she was what I thought to be helpful as I believe this is a teaching moment. As a sales manager she should be more familiar with the systems and processes , I should not be going through what I am going through. I feel after all this time wasted and monies being on hold I should be refunded the $40 parking fee that was charged by the hotel at this point.
My partner and I had a horrible experience at the hotel on November 3rd. The person at the front desk was a new employee that did not know what she/he were doing. Not only that, when we went to our room (1206), we saw 5 roaches (4 adults and one baby). If I havent opened a cookie, we would of been sleeping with roaches. Once we saw those, I put at least four roaches in plastic bags from the room.We felt so uncomfortable and we took a shower before leaving. It did not make things better. We went straight down stairs to ask for our refund from this horrible experience. There was another employee that we did not recognize and we showed them the roaches in the plastic bags (still alive). We never had such an ordeal. They used to have employees who cared and knew customer service. We also been at that hotel since the pandemic started. This was the first and will be the last time booking a room for this hotel. We are extremely disappointed
If you are looking for great customer service, attentive guest reps who are willing to resolve any matter that may arise during your stay, this hotel is not for you. Customer service is truly lacking including housekeeping and that is alarming. I stayed for two nights in total three days and never received fresh towels, trash not picked up, room smelled like smoke due to hotel guest next door smoking cigarettes although the hotel is smoke free. I was told from the hotel customer service line hot breakfast still served but only a bagged breakfast is available. There were issues on top of issues and I tried addressing the issues with the front desk but he was not engaged in the conversation. Till this day I have been waiting to hear back from management but have yet to receive a response.
Probably the best choice in this neighborhood, but it’s really noisy ventilation system only works at full blower mode. The area is located near public housing and some shady streets that you have to pass through to walk anywhere. The business center and fitness center were perfectly fine. The staff was friendly, and you get a bag of to-go breakfast every morning before 9. Oatmeal packet, water and sometimes a muffin. The rooftop has a great view!
My fiancé and I visited Brooklyn, NY for one night. One thing I highly recommend is purchasing parking even though it’s $35 extra each day. There is absolutely no parking found nearby and where the one spot you may find, it’s far from the hotel and in a questionable place. Hotel staff were very friendly and check in was quick and almost touch less due to booking online. The room is small, but this is expected in the city for the price point we paid which was roughly $115 not including parking. The hotel was very on it about cleanliness and social distancing concerns. We didn’t stay long enough to comment on the local area food wise, but there are multiple places within walking distance and you can order any sort of food via door dash which is what we opted to do due to Covid concerns. There is a good deal of sound that can be heard such as sirens from outside but we couldn’t hear anyone else in the hotel. Almost felt as if we were there alone even though we did see a few other guests in the hallways. The bodies from outside are inevitable in the city, when you shut the curtain it muffled it some and the A/C worked very well to not only cool but drone out the noise.I wouldn’t recommend this room for more than two people due to the size. Anymore than that and you will feel like you’re walking on top of one another. The shower was very good and refreshing. There was ample fresh towels so no concern there. This would be a great place to stay for business or if you’re traveling as a couple.
We arrived just around 3pm and was told our rooms werent ready. Normally most hotels have had the rooms changed over by the check in time. There were also several other people waiting in the lobby. The desk clerk was very friendly and stored our luggage while we went to grab a late lunch. As others mentioned rooms were on the small side but apparently thats Brooklyn as my NYC friends said. The rooftop view is lovely if you look out, if you look down you get lovely view of a few tire stores and other rundown buildings. Again, apparently thats Brooklyn. The breakfast was better than expected based on comments here. I cant imagine that it can be too much considering COVID, good coffee, waffle maker, pastries, cereal and some microwave egg sandwiches, and fruit. Why eat there when there are some good places w/in walking distance. I had no fridge, my sisters room did, they left a stingy amount of TP - near empty roll(shouldve been changed). Bed was comfy, I forgot to bring a charger plug, called while I was out to see if the lamps had USB ports as the bedside lamps had plugs. They could not answer definitively but said it was renovated. Ok then. yes, one lamp does have a USB port. Their website says daily housekeeping service I guess they clean somewhere but did not clean our 2 rooms. The housekeeping carts were in the same spot in our hall for a good chunk of the day. i think for what I paid, I would spend more and stay in one of the hotels closer to downtown Brooklyn. Nothing about this stay enticed me to want to come back.
Front desk personnel unable to cope with the job. Did not advise us about booking room cleaning service in order to have room cleaned. Could not manage to deliver clean towels to the room after three calls to him. Soft mattress. No decaf coffee at breakfast. Below the standard that we had expected.
I formally worked for the company and the location I worked at reflected customer care is first priority here!!! I wish I was over aggravating but the guest service here was useless in terms of helping with anything I called before my stay to extend was put on hold 2 times then told I’d have to do it morning after I checked in not until the day I was planned to check out they granted the extension making the price skyrocket from what I originally knew it would be from the time I booked all together refused to provide bedding change when I arrived even when I said the house men wouldn’t have to change it I would they said no I go in my room did my usual look around their was urine under the seat. Wouldn’t recommend here to anyone even renovation can’t mask the guest service
After 16 hours of flights and an hour taxi ride my family and I were more than ready to get to our room. We get there and they tell us they cant honor our reservation. We got no warning whatsoever. No text, email, etc. They got us a room in the worst rated Marriott in NYC 2 hours away and told us to come back tomorrow for our rooms. They didnt even order us a taxi...
The hotel was nice with a contemporary feel. BUT The floors are dark as half the lights are burnt out. The breakfast to go is less than favorable and parking is a problem. My room smelled of smoke and the floor I was on always smelled of weed. The best part of the hotel was the roof top patio. Not what I was expecting for a marriot product and for the are and price.
I don’t understand why this place has such high reviews; these people are either not telling the truth, or are used to subpar accommodations. First and foremost, this hotel has ROACHES. For it to have been recently renovated, its very disturbing and disgusting to see baby roaches running around inside and outside of the hotel. Moreover, the lack of cleanliness of the rooms themselves. Mine in particular, had human and dog hair all over the bathroom floor, walls, shower curtain and the room wasn’t vacuumed. I have never been so uncomfortable in a hotel, nor have I ever slept or have been exposed to roaches till I stayed in the Fairfield. To top it all off, the general managers resolve, is to add 25,000 points to my membership; after 5 days of not responding to my emails. Anyone reading this, may choose to ignore what I’m writing here but, don’t say you have not been warned!
The only good thing about this hotel is the rooftop views! Our hotel room was tiny. There wasnt a mini fridge or a microwave. The room smelled of weed so much that we told the staff and they said it was nothing they could do. The room next door music was so loud it was like we was at a concert! We stayed 3 days and never once was the room cleaned by housekeeping. We had to request towels at the desk, and they said we had to wait til the morning. The breakfast was a package of oatmeal, a breakfast bar and a muffin. When we asked about a bowl for the oatmeal the front desk told us to use the cups for the coffee. It was not worth the money!
This place was amazing. We stayed here a few years ago now but reminiscing through these old pics, I thought it’d be nice to share publicly. The rooms were very clean and accommodating. We had connecting rooms which was also a plus. Views were everything. That New York sky line is beautiful at night especially from the rooftop. Rooftop had chairs and tables and just relaxing vibes. Love the whole setting great place to go with a group of friends or for a romantic little getaway. Friendly and helpful staff. We had left an item behind and they made sure they mailed it to me right away. Great location not too far from the subway. Was able to leave the car behind in the parking lot. Parking isn’t easy but you have to try and get a spot early in the lot.
The facility is clean and the staff is pleasant, but this is the noisiest room I ever attempted to stay in. There appears to be no noise insulation at all. We could clearly hear voices from the street, the hallway outside our room and from adjacent rooms. We left after 4 hours and checked into a Hilton.
The staff were all lovely and very welcoming. But due to the pandemic, the complimentary breakfast was a bag with a granola bar and muffin. The main objection we had was the additional $35 PER NIGHT to park in the hotel lot! This added unnecessarily to our bill. For the price of the room, parking really should have been included.
The day is raining, and no parking is available except one between two cars and a third park on the curb. It took me 1/2 hour in the rain trying to park my Suburban, coming in and out at a angle. Once I was done, I needed to hunt down the clerk, which I found talking to fellow workers on the ground floor. He gets upset and says that checking is upstairs, and then he follows me to that floor to check me in. Because of my interruption of his conversation, he decided to punish me and gave me a room next to the elevator with an ADA tub. Thank you, and let me have another, please.
I thought everything about my experience was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. There was a guest who was being very unreasonable about a dog (belonging to another guest) that was in the dining area. Your staff handled the situation with grace and restraint and diffused the situation beautifully.I was surprised to learn that you are renovating this hotel! It is already so beautiful and our rooms were great. I cant imagine how you would improve this hotel. The breakfast was good and had a great variety of choices each day as well as throughout our week long stay. The staff was also wonderful. Finally, the rooftop deck is amazing!!!!!One of the BEST stays Ive had anywhere - regardless of price.
Very surprisingly, a great place to stay adjacent to Gowanus and Park Slope. Very clean rooms, great location, and an awesome view of lower Manhattan from the rooftop. All at a reasonable price. The elevators were a bit shifty, and the surrounding block felt a bit unsafe at night. Otherwise, I would definitely return if I were staying in the area again.
Every staff member and room detail were top shelf. What it lacks in spaciousness, this hotel makes up in service and comfort. The amenities are high quality and the beds very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is fine for 99% of people. No omelet bar, but simple cheese omelets for those who crave that sort of thing. I liked the mixed fruit and hot foods. The yogurt is delicious and varied. Stay here for central location too.
I love it here. Me and my friend comes almost every weekend due to our work schedule. So this place is our little getaway. The foosball table, the Jenga, the Netflix we love it all. The balcony is beautiful. Between this and the Hotel Inn in downtown, this place wins for me because of the Netflix.
This hotel was so awesome! The property was clean and well maintained. The lobby had a modern, stylish, and hip feel. But the staff really made the difference between this being a good hotel and this being a fabulous hotel! They really made you feel like a valued customer. The price of this hotel is typically a little less than most of the hotels In Brooklyn, which is an added bonus! Location is very close to a lot of nice restaurants, also. I would highly recommend!
I’m not sure where to start! They claim to offer “free breakfast”, yet “breakfast” ended at 9am! I have never been to a hotel in which breakfast ended so early! On top of that there was no blow dryer, microwave, or fridge in my room. I called the front desk and the woman had an attitude! Very unprofessional. I will never stay here again!!
The hotel is nice and staff was friendly. My only concerns or issues were about house keeping. When we arrived at 3pm, there was a plunger in the hallway. We went out and returned at 11pm, the plunger was still there and in the morning at 8am, still there. Gross!I had signed up for the Green program that requested no service however, the staff still attempted to clean the room. This isnt a big deal but my request wasnt followed.Overall, nice place with a nice view from the rooftop patio.
Absolute trash. Made my NON REFUNDABLE reservation. The day of AT check in time they call me and say they can’t accommodate me and offered to put me up at a holiday in nowhere near the location. I have friends and family staying at this location and asked them to remove someone else. She said “too bad.”Absolutely never staying at one of these hotels again. Horrible customer service. They don’t care about you.
This was a family trip to Brooklyn to christen my granddaughter, and there were many moving pieces to make this a successful trip. We traveled from Boston on a Friday, arriving at different times. The staff was excellent, and they made us feel as if we were the only ones in the hotel (it was sold out). They could not have been more helpful, and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We were able to upgrade our room to a suite the day of our visit, which made it so much easier for 3 adults to stay in the same room. The breakfast on Saturday was set up very well, well-stocked, and quite clean. Our request for a late checkout was granted willingly, which made it so much easier for us to change into travel clothes after the formal ceremony. Thank you, Fairfield Inn, for a very comfortable stay in Brooklyn. I would come back here again in a minute.
This stay was horrendous, the walls are paper thin. The staff made a point to tell me how they are unable to clean rooms due to covid, yet walking by my room and opening the stairwell exit all morning every morning. Furthermore the smoker or terminally ill patient in the room near mine was very noticeably noisy and the rooms closed doors offered no refuge from the constant coughing.
Best part of my week long stay here was the roof top terrace with views of downtown Manhattan.Staff is rude and non-responsive to guests request.Bagels were gone every morning when I came down for breakfast and the breakfast staff started breaking down breakfast stations before the posted closing time. Breakfast offerings need some serious redoing.Rooms are average although I will say the bathroom in my room was much larger than a normal hotel room and actually had great water pressure in the shower.Hallways could use much brighter lighting.Had to wait 2 days to get a refridge put in my room.Great dining options close by. The Barclays Center is with-in walking distance in good weather.Good news is that Marriotts corporate office is investigate my complaints to the front desk that were not responded to appropriately.
Very clean facility. Room was small but clean and bathroom was modern and clean with a large shower. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Complimentary breakfast had a nice variety and was well stocked. Roof top lounge was a nice perk where you could enjoy a night cap or morning coffee while looking out over the city. On-site parking was a nice feature as well. Would definitely stay here again.
Staff was very friendly and my room was clean, albeit small. Having said that, even in times of covid, there is absolutely NO excuse for serving the breakfast that you do. If you feel that covid prevents you from offering a product that you can proudly offer to your paying customers, better to not offer anything at all. However, offering oatmeal packets and granola bars and calling it breakfast is offensive to the Marriott brand and the people that are loyal to it. Please re-consider and do better.
This hotel was very good and has great service. Their breakfast was phenomenal with multiple selections. But it got really crowded around 8. Also to maybe keep breakfast open until 10 or 11. During the night my room was a little to cold but was quickly fixed with the personal thermostat in room. At 4 or 5 in the morning the noise started. There were huge booms it seemed like every 5 minutes. But otherwise great service and I recommend it
My mobile checkin didn’t go through, so they gave me a floor upgrade. Room was nice and clean and pretty spacious for NYC. I can’t judge noise levels because I bring my own white noise machine when I travel because of my tinnitus. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very pleasant. It was conveniently located and perfect for my visit. Parking is super limited, but I didn’t have any trouble securing a space when I arrived. I think my only gripe was the elevator was kind of slow. I would definitely stay here again!
I stayed here for a work trip for 3 weeks. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. The only thing I don’t like, is it’s kind of in a weird area. Not close to convenient stores, yes these Barclay area is close but that involved more exertion than I had to give some days. The Whole Foods down the block was my biggest resource for food/delivery options.
Very bad experience... we normally stay at Marriott hotels around the country and have never had a bad experience. This hotel was the exception and we will likely never use the chain again. We stayed there for three nights the customer service was very disappointing. On the third day they never bothered to service our room. Trash can was overflowing, no new towels, no soap no shampoo and the bed was never made. When we called the front desk and asked what happened the time was 4:15pm. The front desk person told us maid service ends at 4pm we asked why our room wasn’t serviced he had no answer he sent a maid up but by that time we were tired and in no mood to have someone clean the room while still in it. The front desk person told us he would get back to us with reparations for the poor service he never did. In New York City you would expect hotel customer service to be top notch not the case at Fairfield Inn Brooklyn.
The stay was good but the parking is absolutely horrible. We had a flight to catch and someone had block the entire back half of the lot by leaving their car in an no parking spot. The front desk attendant didn’t explain this to the guest so once they came out and saw their car was fine they headed back inside to I guess talk to the attendant who was once again absent from the desk. I had to run her down and ask if she would move her car to which she told me no! I then to to beg a woman who was in the wrong to move her car so we wouldn’t miss our flight back home. Had there been a parking attendant this would not have happened. We should never had to be the ones to talk to the guest about her parking in a spot she shouldn’t have. We made it to our flight but with literally minutes to spare, all with an infant in toe. I doubt we will be back.
They charge you for parking in the parking lot when you didnt. The beds are low and very uncomfortable, they dont cook real breakfast you get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit, granola bar and a water. All you smell in a smoke free hotel is weed. For the money you pay they cad do much better. The staff is great, but the front desk manager Stacy very rude.
Extremely noisy room on street side until after midnight, which woke us up (outside street trucks). Coffee maker in room did not work. Person responsible to bring free morning breakfast in lobby did not come, so no breakfast and no coffee either. Double charged for parking (corrected after we pointed it out). One of worst stays we have had as Bonvoy members ever.
Was taking a cruise that sails from Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. This hotel is close to the terminal so we chose this hotel. Like many mid and low end hotels in NYC, the rooms are small but the space is manageable. The breakfast is typical Best Western/Quality Inn type. The staff is very nice. Our stay was paid with points or else we might not have chosen this hotel because of the quoted money price. The stay was ok. The rooftop is nice but don’t expect a waterfront view of Lower Manhattan.
We chose this hotel for its proximity to our sons apartment; however, on arrival we discovered a modern facility with an incredibly friendly, helpful staff. Since the location is only seven years old, everything was in terrific condition. Our 12th floor room had a great view of Brooklyn and was located right next to an outdoor terrace just below the rooftop deck. Our room was spacious by New York hotel standards and the beds were extremely comfortable. Parking was available at a fair cost and the full breakfast was much better than we expected. Our entire stay was wonderful and we will certainly consider staying here again as long as our son is living in the area.
My husband and I stayed with you because we had a wedding in the area. Parking was a little tight and scarce, but the local was ideal for our purposes. The welcome desk was superb, extremely friendly and helpful, getting us a quote on a town car to transport us to the wedding and making it possible for our group (we were traveling with three other couples) to all be on the same floor. The rooms were impeccably clean and there were great amenities. We all made use of the complimentary breakfast the next morning, which was really convenient. The roof deck was beautiful, with ample seating and a beautiful view, however, it was too cold to stay for an extended period. Space heaters would have made it a very enjoyable space. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again/recommend it to friends.
Our plane was late in arriving and we did not get to the hotel until 12:40 AM, but I was not concerned because I had reserved our room several days in advance and we had almost always enjoyed our stays at Marriott properties. My confidence in the brand, as we soon discovered, was sadly misplaced. The first room offered to us smelled strongly of cleaning products with undertones of vomit. The squeaking, lumpy chair in the room appeared to have been nibbled on by rats, the mattress was old and thin, and the linens looked questionable. The room was truly disgusting; no way could we tolerate the stench nor spend the night in such a dump. The desk clerk then sent us to another room which she described as being on the second floor ... a lovely room and very quiet. In fact, the room was at garden level backing to the parking lot and a noisy street, had paper thin walls and a bathroom that featured a twelve inch deep shelf posing as a vanity fitted out with a Barbie sized lavatory. We were subjected to loud street noise and worse, EXTREMELY noisy neighbors, who partied away past 2:30 AM. I called the front desk three times before the noise started to subside and did not get to sleep until 3:00 AM.No compensation was offered, even though the front desk was clearly aware of our miserable stay. I had to demand an adjustment to our bill, and am offended that there was only a 30% adjustment given. In our opinion, the Marriott should have paid us for our inconvenience and discomfort. One hundred and sixty six dollars for less than 12 hours is outrageous under the circumstances. The only positive comment I can make is that our stay was not any longer.
This Brooklyn hotel is up to date and very comfortable. The bed and pillows were great quality. The staff is courteous and accommodating! There is construction around the hotel as there has been for a while now but we were there on the weekend so it was not an issue for us and I look at that as something totally beyond what the hotel can control. Breakfast is good and there is a little store in the hotel if you need a snack or a drink.
Day shift manager tried to convince me that the room i was in which was 3 floors below the rooftop, smelled because of the rooftop leisure area. Then i took pictures because we had used bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion in our room. I was like what is this a joke? Only thing I was happy about was that I was only there for one night in which I was barley in my room. Lesson learned. Fairfield as a whole with the marriott family forever x on my list.
I’ve stayed here twice in the last 3 years. I will definitely be returning there as it’s a wonderful hotel in a great location. The rooftop is absolutely amazing. Everyone at the front desk is extremely friendly and helpful. The staff overall are awesome. The rooms are very clean and beds very comfortable. They offer free breakfast and there is a lot to choose from. I have family in Brooklyn so I will definitely be returning to the Fairfield Inn again very soon!!
Not a really nice hotel, but its clean and the bed is comfortable enough. So if having a roof over your head and a decent clean bed are the main things youre looking for, then this place fits the bill. I should mention that the staff were also really friendly. If you are concerned about noise and light, then this probably isnt the place for you. The walls are paper thin, and the shade doesnt work as well as curtains. That said, you will likely have noise and light issues anywhere you stay in this are.The space and room were okay. The furniture is cheap and stained, and the rooms are minimalistic with no art. It looks like they have smart TV options if staying in and watching Netflix is your thing. But I cant confirm this since I didnt use it myself.I also wish I had known about the rooftop space. I only found out about it through the reviews, but it sounds like its quite nice!
As you enter the room, the feeling of being on vacation just enters your body! The room is clean and BIG, after all it was just my boyfriend and I, and the room was more than enough for the two of us. The bathroom was clean and beautifully lit, showers easy to use, complimentary bath and hair products, and a big, soft, COMFORTABLE bed! We had a beautiful view from our window of the city. Unfortunately the elevators were down, and we had to walk to the 12th floor, but the staff was more than nice to give us some free drinks for the trip, plus the stay itself was so great, we didnt care about the little exercise we did. The wifi was fast and reliable. In the morning we went for the complimentary breakfast and that was great as well, a lot to choose from and the food keeps coming so theres enough for the entire hotel! Overall, this is the second time Ive stayed here and it was just as great!
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, and we had to switch rooms. On our first room, the heater was so loud that we couldn’t use it, so we asked for a new room. We were transferred to room 207, which was worse because we kept hearing banging sounds and our headboards kept vibrating because someone was slamming the door next to our room. We think there is a storage room next to the bedroom which is causing that. And at 6 AM in the morning it happened again and waked us up. The hairdryer didn’t work, and the water in the shower got stuck without draining for a while. We were going to stay in this hotel again in the future but we are not coming back. We paid too much for this experience…
Checked into the hotel got to my room and the smell of smoke was what I was greeted with. Called front desk asked to switch rooms and was told I was given a bigger one because I had a child and nothing else was available. I asked about the availability of a suit upgrade and willing to pay the difference. I was told there are only 2 and they’re both under construction. Front desk came to spray the room immediately but my God I have sinus and I’m stuffy because the smell still lingers. Just went online only to see it’s possible to reserve a suit right now because they are at least 2 available.SMH The room isn’t as clean as expected and the microwave downstairs I tried to use this morning for breakfast was dirty with dry food. I’ve stayed at several hotels and this is the second worse thus far.
We stayed at this hotel because it was conveniently close to our daughters apartment and also close to the subways. Breakfast buffet is wonderful and the staff keeps it clean and the food fresh - it was the best part of our stay. The buffet area is also very inviting, with modern furniture and fun decor. We looked forward to breakfast every morning. The hotel is in a neighborhood with many buildings that appear empty and ready to be refurbished -- no doubt the entire neighborhood will be gentrified within a few years. The rooms are small but comfortable and the bathrooms appear to have new fixtures throughout. All in all, a very pleasant stay. The staff is warm and professional.
We had an excellent stay and the staff was awesome. My 3 yo son loved the breakfast and staff helping out with it. The breakfast had a ton of options and good food. Room was always clean and the staff did an excellent job during our stay. Free WIFI at good speeds! Awesome view of Manhatten.
This is a very nice hotel with a gorgeous view of the NYC skyline from the roof top. The breakfast was very good. Wife loved the excellent bagels and the pork sausage was surprisingly great. We did have issues with the bathroom...lack of hot water and a clogged tub. The parking lot is small and fills up fast. So be careful if you drive to the hotel and expect to find ample parking. In fact, even if you get a permit, dont be surprised to come find the lot full because someone is temporarily parking in the lot. Had to park on the street about a block away. Got a $40 ticket because I didnt see the no parking between 3am and 6am sign. Also, I am a Marriott member and have stayed at a lot of Fairfields. This has to be the most expensive one I have ever stayed in. Yes...it is NYC, but still expensive.
This is my favorite hotel to take a rest day to destress. Staff is always nice and friendly. I didn’t really care for the room I was in because the station was right in front of my window which is was noisy through out the night. but never the less my favorite in Brooklyn.
From the moment I booked my wedding block at the Fairfield in Brooklyn the team was so helpful and accommodating. The sales manager helped me organize my guests reservations and she was on-hand for any questions that came up throughout the process. The front desk and housekeeping staff went absolutely above and beyond on every level. I was so impressed by the customer service - and my family was really happy with our choice to stay there (my husband and I live in NYC but all of our family traveled so we were a bit anxious for them to be comfortable). The front desk staff anticipated my needs in many ways (offering a high chair for my make-up artist, allowing me to borrow a steamer from housekeeping, helping my family post up in the lounge when weather made the rooftop unusable) and I am so grateful for the hospitality and kindness we received. The stay truly exceeded my expectations in every way. The hotel is (at first glance) in a strangely industrial area but it is within blocks of very trendy shops, bars, and neighborhoods.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted warmly and professionally. Our room requests were honored and each member of my family group (5 rooms) settled into comfortable accommodations in clean, well appointed rooms. It is not our first stay at this hotel and we have returned because of the exceptional staff, both in front and the back of the house. We continue to be impressed at how quickly the staff responds to each persons needs. Our family enjoys the use of the roof terrace, fitness center, complimentary breakfast, and lobby area. The hotel offers a great location with numerous restaurants in walking distance.
If you want to overpay for dated rooms and pay $35 for an unmanaged parking lot, that is not guaranteed youll get a parking spot due to the snow pileup, then this is the hotel for you. I would highly recommend staying at a more organized, up-to-date, hotel where you dont feel bad about how much youve spent for a horrible experience.
The service is top of the charts. The people are warm friendly and authentic. Rooms are clean with a fitness center equally as clean. Breakfast was great. enough options for me to feel like I had a meal included in the price...You won’t regret staying and meeting the wonderful People..
Nice, clean hotel. Bed was very comfortable. The heater in our room was not working well, so the thermostat had to be set at 77 degrees in order to heat it well. Our room was close to the elevator and when the elevator runs at night it sounds like someone is dragging a dining room table across a wooden floor. Next time we stay, we will ask to be far away from the elevator. Breakfast is included, typical hotel breakfast with some sort of eggs, two kinds of meat, lots of carbohydrates as well. The exercise room is small, business center is adequate.
Clean, quiet, and comfortable rooms. The rooftop deck is a must see, the view is incredible. The best feature of this hotel is the staff. Everyone we came in contact with, from maintenance to the folks cleaning the rooms, were so nice. My wife and I joked that it felt like some kind of Disney hotel. Everyone was on their A-game, and we really appreciated it. Will definitely stay again.
You can use my previous statement that I gave in my review if you like. I think to highly of my relationship with Marriott to tarnish its image because of one stay, one bad housekeeping employee, or because management decided that it was not a good time to replace windows that had very bad condensation. These are very trying times with the virus and we all need our jobs. Respect!
This hotel goes out of their way in making guests feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast included fresh fruit, choice of eggs, sausage or bacon with vegetarian options. Their were more choices than I have room to write about. The business center was open to all guests and allowed me to print my boarding pass without fee. I had a fabulous stay and hope to return soon. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, including families, business people, young or old.
This hotel is in a great location. Its close to a number of bars and restaurants in the area as well as the subway. The room (one King bed) was a bit small, but thats expected in New York. More importantly it was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay, would definitely stay here again.
Every staff member here gives their guests 100% of their attention. When its your turn at the front desk, you are not rushed, but are treated as a valued guest and every question is answered. Rooms are clean and very relaxing. Housekeeping staff are really nice, and if you have to work from your room, the hallways are quiet. I wouldnt want to stay anywhere else when I am in Brooklyn. Also, I forgot to say that prices are very reasonable! Thanks for everything!
The staff were friendly during our stay. Jessica greeted us when we checked in amd remembered our names and has always been so helpful. The location of the hotel is within a short walk from Union or Atlantic station - the subway goes all the way to queens and stops at major tourist attractions like Time Square and about $10 Uber ride to Metrotech where you can do some of your shopping. Our room was clean and the housekeeping kept them clean during our stay. Brooklyn offers great restaurants and there are few not far from the hotel. Great hotel over all!
The hotel is in an excellent location in Brooklyn. Close to the main bridges, Manhattan and Brooklyn and close drive to the BQE and Belt parkway. I have found my stays to be with ease. Rooms are clean, that is my main concern and an excellent complimentary breakfast. Fitness center is on the smaller end, but is sufficient to get a work out in. The hotel has onsite parking which is good in the neighborhood where parking is limited. The best part of this hotel is the roof: view is amazing, and you can take a moment to relax. I highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel was really great for me and my dog. The staff was kind, welcoming and helpful. We had just relocated from Atlanta and arrived late at night. I was able to park my car, get settled and in bed before midnight. The next morning I got a workout in, breakfast, finished up a project, took a hot shower in a clean bathroom - all before checkout. I really appreciated this hotel experience! Theres a great park across the street, too.
My stay at this hotel was very short but comfy. My boyfriend had the complimentary breakfast and he enjoyed it. Room was cozy and loved the decor inside the hotel itself. I also like that we just had to come down a few steps to get to the lobby instead of waiting for the elevator from the 4th fl. I would definitely stay here again.
We chose this location because we had tickets to a Nets game. The location was good - a nice walk to the stadium, although the few blocks closest to the hotel was a bit deserted later at night, it didnt feel completely unsafe. The hotel was pristine! The rooms were more spacious than we expected. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds Ive ever slept in. The breakfast area was bright and welcoming and the food, for this style of free buffet, was actually wonderful. As a vegetarian, I particularly appreciated that they had veggie sausages :)Will absolutely stay again next time we travel to NY to see the Nets play the Spurs!
Highly recommend. Clean, great rooms, rooftop is amazing, breakfast is great and the staff is fantastic! I walked into the hotel to check in after a very long emotional day and I have nothing but amazing things to say. The staff recognized I was emotional and gave me tissues and even came around to give me a hug. Very caring people. Will be back
Hotel was ok. Customer service SUCKED. None of my requests were met. Called for extra towels, nope I had to steal them from the housekeeping cart. Hours are all over the place. It says breakfast until 11. They stopped serving breakfast at 9. Coffee was cold and so was tea it was labeled as hot water I had to cold brew my tea. Bottom line, dont stay here I wouldnt again.
This Hotel is renovated and in a neighborhood that is being revitalized. It is near The Barclays Center, Restaurants, and transportation. The rooms are small but nice. The rooftop has nice views. We did not have a refrigerator or safe. We will stay here again. The staff is nice.
From the moment we arrived we were excited! Everything about this hotel was fabulous, including the staff. The young lady at the front desk was so sweet and helpful. She told us about the rooftop and where we could pretty much find everything we needed. When we were ready to leave for the event we were in town for she offered us directions and restaurant suggestions. This really set the tone for our overnight trip and it was great! The rooftop was gorgeous and we enjoyed some photo opportunities with the beautiful sunset. Our accommodations were very clean and just perfect. Beds and pillows were very comfortable and we all slept well. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Thank you for a great stay!
We had a weekend with family and found the place to be very relaxing the staff accommodating and the whole experience was trouble-free. Rooms were nice and clean. Due to dietary restrictions we need to store some food at their facility and they were so agreeable. I had my grandchildren there and there was plenty of room for them to move around. Great roof view, furnished.
Very accommodating staff who helped us to decide on the perfect room for a three night stay with an infant... We needed a tub (as opposed to just a shower) and room for a stroller and pack and play. Very convenient parking for a price. Clean and modern rooms and lobby.
Great location; dont forget to visit the roof top especially at night. The breakfast was awesome and always replenished; fresh bagels and not out of the bag. Pricey parking at $35 a night and not guaranteed a spot! Rooms are nice, ask for a fridge if you do not have one. Rooms are clean except bathroom baseboards. Handicapped room is below ground level. Awesome staff! Near 5th Street restaurants and close to Atlantic St subway station -- little seedy getting to subway so caution at night.
Will stay again. The hotel was fairly crowded. Bed, linens, and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable for me. My room on 8th floor was small but had everything I needed. Little noise at night. Elevators worked. Staff was accommodating. The area is still a little iffy, but I did feel safe walking alone. Breakfast can be a challenge, as everyone wants to get their moneys worth and some people were balancing their breakfast on their laps on the chairs in front of the television. The tables were usually full. The rooftop deck was a nice area to unwind after a long day of walking in Manhattan. It could use a few more chairs. So, overall a pleasant stay.
Our stay was AWESOME as always. Tawyanna, Vanessa and Jessica were all very pleasant, courteous, helpful and willing to give GREAT customer service, and they did!! 100% I have been reserving a room with Fairfield Inn & Suites Marriot for my last 4 trips to New York and would not think of staying anywhere else. From the moment we walk into the hotel its pleasurable. Then the room is always ready and clean. To top it off the breakfast in the mornings. The servers in the dining area are always pleasant with smiles as well.
I truly enjoyed my time spent at this hotel. This was my second time there and I was able to enjoy the amenities this time since I was not informed of them during my previous stay. The overall staff experience was top A rated. Especially Randy. He checked us in on Friday; being very personable and accommodating. He remembered us by name the next evening and seemed to genuinely wants us to have a great time there at the hotel. In fact, his shift coworker and the night staff all did. I received the customer service that I would expect at one of the higher Marriott brands and was very pleased!Karl L
Overall, our stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Brooklyn was great. The rooms and lobby were decorated well and up-to-date. Although the room was somewhat small, it was very clean and suited our needs for a short stay. The staff was friendly and the breakfast, internet, and rooftop patio all added to the experience. Although the hotel isnt located in a great immediate area, I felt safe leaving my car in the hotel-provided parking spaces. The hotel was also within walking distance of plenty of bars and restaurants on 5th Ave and near the Barclays Center.I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.
The sheets were dirty and looked like they weren’t changed from the last person who stayed in that room. When pulling down the comforter, there were holes in the sheets. Also asked three times for a late check out, including once on the app, but the maid still came barging into the room before the scheduled 2pm checkout time.
Nice hotel in an up and coming formerly industrial area of Park Slope. Hasnt quite up and come yet though, so a lot of rooms look out at a huge construction site. Convenient, about 4 blocks from 4th Ave subway line stop. Rooms are nice, and staff are very friendly. When loaner umbrellas ran out, someone even found a nice personal umbrella of a staff member to lend me! Breakfast is ample and very nice, including a fresh batter maker and waffle iron. Down side: housekeeping service can be slow, took a couple of hours to get extra towels. I think this place has a bright future as the neighborhood continues to transition from industrial to residential.
Then was promised that I’d be moved to the room I actually reserved but the next day, I was again told the king bed rooms were again sold out. Finally, I was told I’d have points refunded due to a cheaper room…after investigating further I never got any points back. Wasted points for a sub par small bed
The hotel is immaculately clean. The entire staff from front desk, housekeeping and the young man in the breakfast area, were friendly, competent and open to conversation and questions about the area. Our room was surprisingly larger than we expected for a city hotel room. Loved the rooftop deck. It was a great place to drink a glass of wine, look at the Manhattan skyline and decompress in the evening before bed. Excellent location to the subway if you plan on heading into Manhattan, but also a fabulous location if you just plan on hanging in Brooklyn.I look forward to my next visit, I will definitely book here again.
This is the second time I have stayed at this property and it has always been greater than my expectations. The hotel is clean and modern, the bagels at breakfast are great and the offerings are generous. I wish that the breakfasts were available until 10:00 am on the weekdays for those of us who are late starters during a personal visit. The Front Desk Manager and the front desk staff provide excellent information and service and are extremely pleasant and courteous. The location in Brooklyn is great and the cost is well priced. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The best part of our several stays at this hotel has been a consistently outstanding staff. Every single person we encountered in our three stays has been helpful and has gone over and above in addressing our needs. I found this to be uncommon and it made each stay stress-free. The hotel is comfortable, clean and convenient. If you want to use the parking facility, you better arrive early. Its first come, first serve.
Im a marriort elite member and always stay at them. I booked this hotel due to its location to a bday party and attractions in Brooklyn. Before booking I called the desk to see how far they were walking distance from a subway access point, they said 6 min. It took my girlfriend and I about 15-20 with our luggage to walk. The greeting staff was pleasant and accommodating, as Ive had similar experience in the past at Marriott, no issues there. Upon arriving I asked to have a late check out on Sunday morning, and was told that was impossible. A courtesy Ive never had issues with due to my member status. Our first night there, there was construction in the parking lot all through the night making it impossible to go to sleep. At 3am I asked to get a room on the other side of the building due to noise, and was told they didnt have any available. The hotel on the website makes you think theres a rooftop bar, which is in fact simply access to the roof with a patio. This was nice, but it was no bar or nite life scene. The worst part was the remainder of our stay, after the first day, the elevators broke and werent to be fixed until 4-5 days later. Not only was it a pain to walk up and down the many flights to get to our room on the 8th floor, but the stairwell traffic was difficult with people dragging luggage up and down in addition to those people just walking to or from there room. My girlfriend recently had ankle surgery, so when I found the elevators wouldnt be returning before we left I asked if there was a lower room we could get, they said again all taken. The icing on the cake was Sunday morning at 845am when they used the fire alarm intercom to announce the elevators werent coming on until Tuesday next week. Not only did it wake us up in panic since it was the fire alarm intercom, but they started the announcement with, this is not a drill, and then went into the elevators. Perhaps more appropriately they could have left people messages on their room phones, if someone somehow missed the huge signs that said, the elevators werent coming back until next week. Oh, we also didnt have working phones in our room. Overall I was very unhappy with my stay at this location. I travel a lot for work and always stay at Marriott, this was unexpected from previous experiences Ive had, and Im hoping its just the ugly duckling of the hotel chain.
The room is at a 2 star level at best, you could probably find a motel with better amenities and a nicer room. I called and asked Marriot specialist specifically if there was on site parking, a bar and a rooftop. When I got there, there was no parking and I was told I needed to park 4 BLOCKS away and walk back. After getting into my room there was literally no décor...nothing. The view was street level and of a construction site. Opening the window wasnt an option unless I wanted every passerby looking into my room. They had phone chargers...but for the first I[hone and the 1st android...seriously, the new phones have been out for years. I get dressed and head to the front desk to ask for the bar, I was told the bar was unavailable and under constriction. Im looking at them like ….really? I specifically asked if this was an option before booking my room. I go down to use the computers to print out my concert tickets so I can get out of the hotel and find a local bar. only 1 of the 2 computers are working and the internet is insanely slow. This is NOT a 4 Star hotel, at best its a 2 star hotel. The plaster ceilings in the room look dated, the filter for the a/c unit hanging out looks like its poorly maintained. This was a terrible experience
This our go to hotel when we go to Brooklyn. The main thing is that its clean and fresh. The staff has always been great. The rooms are a decent size by NYC standards. Its also in a good location. The included breakfast is pretty good. The R train has a stop only a block away or just a few blocks from the Barclay center. I didnt give it a 4 for a couple of reasons. The heater/airconditioner was erratic and noisy. There can be some street noise. But that is minor stuff.
I was in town for a job interview and stayed at this location which was conveniently located to the part of Brooklyn I needed to be in based on locations for key meetings. It was a great property with a helpful & friendly staff. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Fitness center was extremely tiny and had limited equipment aside from basic cardio machines and a few weights. Would be tough to use if more than 2-3 people were in there at one time. Breakfast was standard fair and nothing special but it was nice to have it provided as part of the rate. Coffee bar was open all the time and was a popular destination for most guests! I would recommend this hotel location for a short stay in the area. Nice staff & easy to be based out of while youre in Brooklyn.
We called and asked and requested a fridge in the room and were told they all have them and microwaves. I also asked to be on the same floor as the crispinos and that they needed a crib, and that we all needed to be away from the elevator.Spke with Carena or Karina? 3-27-19 1:51pm 844-631-0595frigs in all rooms and be on same floor not near elevator. She also gave us our actual confirmation numbers Crispino - hotel conf #76721692 and Howard #76644220. We get to the hotel and we are right next to the elevator the Crispinos are at the other end. No one had the crib or a fridge. I called the front des kand was told I didnt speak to anyone there in regards to the property and microwaves and fridges are by request only which I did request. 20 min later the appliances were brought up. I couldnt ever get the wifi to work. The rooms are so small we were tripping over the bags all trip. I didnt love the shower curtain liner touching you when you were showering. I found a rose petal on the floor next to the bed that wasnt ours. The construction every morning was a nightmare. The door for the bathroom blocks half the sink when it is opened. We will never stay here again. The ac/ heat unit was so loud and rattly. The lighting is lacking in the rooms and the bedding was paper thin. As someone who works in the interior design business an works with alot of hotels this is a far cry from a great hotel.
This is a clean and comfortable hotel. It is located off the busy Atlantic Ave. and within walking distance to the Barclay Center. There is no retail in the direct area or restaurants. Uber will solve that! We were glad to stay here two times and equally pleased. The morning continental breakfast is great. The subway is a few blocks away, as well.
I have stayed at this property 4 times this year while on business. Every time I have stayed at this property the hotel staff is very welcoming; from the staff manning the breakfast area, to the staff at the front desk. I am always greeted with a smile and hello when I walk through the doors. It is evident that attention to detail is important, because the inside as well as outside of the hotel are always in tip-top shape. I will continue to be a happy customer of this hotel. Thank you to all and keep up the good work!
Overall and awesome stay with awesome staff. I pretty much said it all throughout the survey. The location was right in the middle of the several sights we needed to get to and totally accessible to all public transportation. The view on our Private balcony was simply stunning. And the internet was extremely fast. By far one of the best at any hotel I have visited thus far. And I have been in a lot. Oh, and absolutely love the Touch Screen TV monitor that showed local events and websites. If I had more time to play with it, I probably could have mapped out a week worth of things to do. All was simply great.
Excellent, helpful staff. Location is very good with easy access to Manhattan. Hotel rooms below lobby level(below ground level, like a garden apartment) are noisy. Hotel is adequate, not upscaled. It is very clean, and rooms and beds are comfortable. Free breakfast is very good with many selections. Overall a good stay was had.
I stay at a lot of hotels, thousands of nights, often more than a 100 nights a year. I am fairly easy to please, clean quiet room, friendly helpful staff, a good bed and a great shower, with working internet. I got all that at this hotel and would stay there again. The only thing that disappointed me and it was a big disappointment, I relied and in fact chose this hotel on the basis of the complimentary breakfast, as there are no restaurants nearby. the breakfasts were not good and not out on time. Particularly on Sunday, when it is served later, it needs to be fully out at 7am, for those of us going to work, that means fresh hot coffee, juice, eggs, bacon or sausage and maybe potatoes that are hot and cooked.
The only reason I didnt give a 10 on first question is - no jacuzzi. Thats always a treat for me when I travel.Other than that, I cant say enough about the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We spent some time hangingaround as we were not there to sight see. We were waiting to fly out the next day. We enjoyed the roof top and the lounge area where we watched Wimbledon. Compliments to the front desk personnel, the maids, bellboys and everyone else we ran into.
Room was great. Clean. Onlu issue was parking. Saw that it was limited spaces (33) to park. Uopn my check in I paid for parking. Upon returning back to hotel all the spaces were filled. What was the purpose off paying for parking and not be able to have a spot?!? It was removed by fromt desk upon bringing issue to their attention. Really that is the only thing that turned me offf about hotel.
There was a very little parking area which we were automatically charged for (when they asked for license number) never mind the fact that we didnt have a car. The room was ok except for the bathroom which had an extremely small rectangular sink. It was very hard to aim while brushing and we ended up having to clean toothpaste and mouthwash up each time we brushed. On a good note the breakfast buffet each morning was good although there was limited seating and the area was crowded since the buffet line ran through the eating area. I did enjoy the rooftop smoke area (although I dont smoke) At night the view was nice.
We stayed with our two year old for the weekend! Room and bathroom were bigger than expected! Breakfast had great options and our picky boy ate a ton! Staff was so nice to let us check in early because they had a room available! Hotel is very clean and nicely furnished! Very comfortable bed! Close by is a little kids play space called monkey do which was super convenient! A super nice Whole Foods is just down the street too! Loved the location! Will definitely stay again and will also try out the manhattan location next month!
Horrible place. Do not stay here. It is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel and the guests next door where smoking weed with loud music. I informed the front desk lady and she asked us to change rooms instead of letting the other guests know to stop smoking. We had to go through the hassle of changing rooms like it was our fault for complaining. She changed us to a dirty and old room nothing compared with what we paid. Stay away from this dirty kind of motel.
Great location. Modern hotel near restaurants, public transportation and shopping. Good value for NYC hotel. The free breakfast is a plus! We specially liked the staff. We had our 2 small children and we were well taken care off with a pack and play in the room when we arrived! That has never happened at other hotels we have stayed. Thank you for making our family feel welcomed.
The service was nice, and the hotel looked very impressive, until i got inside my room. There were two large stains on the carpet. The wardrobe closet smelled like meldew. The buffet breakfast had a nice variety, but was cold. Even when they brought out more food it was still cold.
I came here for my daughters birthday and we loved it everyone was very nice, it was so clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast start from 6am to 10am, and it was amazing and it is included with the room. the only problem i had was that the room i was in the bath wasnt kid friendly, but overall everything was wonderful. I will definately be coming back to FairField Marriott.
Excellent hotel, Clean rooms. Ours had a panoramic view of New York. The roof top was a real nice amenity.Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was much better than I had anticipated. MY sons were equally impressed. The price didnt break the bank. Id stay here again in a heartbeat.
The staff was attentive and the lobby and breakfast were quite nice. The exterior and surrounding location was a bit rough due to construction. It was not as close abd I would have liked to the subway but not a terrible walk if you packed light. There are not many restaurants or sites near here other than the Barclays Center.
This worked out for us because it was in the location we wanted -- southern part of Park Slope. It was fine -- clean, pretty updated, and very popular as all the rooms were full. The room was not spacious but it was big enough, and we were not bothered by street noise. They had a nice and free breakfast downstairs: make-your-own waffles, scrambled eggs & bacon, bagels/toast and coffee & tea with some fruit. I would stay again if visiting the area.
I stayed at the Fairfield Inn overnight during a business trip. The hotel is located in an area of Downtown Brooklyn that is under active construction. There are no amenities within reasonable (3 block) walking distance. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated, particularly the lobby, and the rooms are spacious for NYC standards and comfortable. However, the hotel is not operating at Marriott standards yet at all. In particular: I was unable to successfully connect to the WiFi on my laptop, meaning that I could not get work done. I asked the front desk for help and was informed Oh, sometimes laptops are unable to deal with the security features. They offered no help and did not seem at all worried by the fact that none of their business customers would be able to use their laptops? Further, I had to contact the front desk after my stay and I found them unhelpful, stressed out, and unfriendly. In order to resolve my issue, I had to contact Marriott International and open a customer care case with my Marriott Rewards number, because the front desk was either incapable or unwilling to provide proactive support for my issue.Overall, I will not be returning and I recommend others stay away until they have had more time to train staff.
Great front desk staff. But the laundry prices are ridiculous. Had some underwear laundered. When it came back the receipt from the laundry company to the hotel was $30 (priced by pound). Yet the charge from the hotel to me was $75!!! An incredible markup. Hotel manager confirmed the $75 charge to me. Highway robbery!!!
The Brooklyn Fairfield Inn & Suites has a really stunning rooftop deck and for that alone I would recommend this hotel. The public spaces were nicely done and the complimentary breakfast was nice. The rooms themselves were small and adequate. My particular room was below street level, so I was not inclined to spend any waking time in the room. The walk to the subway was about 4 blocks and the neighborhood was nice. There was a small childrens park a block away.
Great Hotel ! I am a little bias though as I do enjoy most Marriott hotel chains. But this was a good find right in the heart of Brooklyn. Not too close to the heart beat of downtown but close enough to walk to it. Tons of great food and shopping near by. The famous Junior Cheesecake is only about a 10-15 minute walk. Trust me its worth the walk. Free street parking on the weekends. Good if you have friends that come visit. Rooms are small but most are in NY, but the bathroom was actually comfortable size. Bedding was excellent nice and comfortable and relaxing. The staff was very kind and always greeted us with a smile. Definitely will stay there again.
Our family was in town for a wedding. There were 12 of us from the Chicago area. The hotel was full up the day of check in and for 3 days after, but the staff was very accommodating to our group. Rooms were provided to all as requested and requests to get rooms closer together were accommodated if possible. In addition, despite being very busy with a full up property, the staff was consistently pleasant and helpful with getting cars when needed, providing directions and suggestions for restaurants. Great service!
This particular Fairfield Inn seems to be focused on customer needs and staff is very attentive. We needed a quiet and restful place, to rest, with our baby, and this was the place. Since the moment I spoke on the phone to the lady at the front desk to make inquiries I felt reassured and paid attention to. I expressed our needs with the baby and for quiet and she took note and set aside a room for us that would be most appropriate from what was available. I really felt it was worth paying for. And when we accidentally missed breakfast the gentleman in that area brought out bagel and butter and left the ice water with us, it was as relaxing as if we had had regular morning meal. Having the nice coffee with teas available all day long was a really nice benefit!
New and cozy hotel. Comfortable for a quick trip and rooms are average for a hotel Brooklyn. Will stay again if I have to; however going to try another brand before I make this my go to when Im in Brooklyn. Breakfast is good, and this hotel has the basic necessities for someone on business.
This is a very nice hotel overall. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean. However the rooms overall are very clean they are also very tiny. Two people can not walk around with out bumping into each other and there is no sitting area. Our A/C was noisy and I chose to turn the unit off. Parking is extremely limited so you should be aware that you may need to find parking on the street and possibly blocks away.
Very nice staff. Room could be bigger. Lacking a fridge, they have an ice maker every 2 floors. The mattress could be much firmer. Bathroom is okay in terms of size. Basic amenities are available too. The complimentary breakfast could be much better. Very repetitive and the space gets very crowded. I also missed a self service loundry. They do offer loundry service though. Overall I would only stay here again on a short stay and if I had to deal with something in the neighborhood. Getting to Manhattan or to the airports takes a while so, if you are planning your visit beyond Brooklyn, be prepared. There arent many attractions in this area but after 10 to 15 minutes walking you will find some great options.
The facility was very clean. The rooms were clean bit kind of small (I guess this would be expected in Brooklyn). The staff was super friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the toilet seemed like it was not flushing properly. We notified the desk on our way out right after we checked in and when we returned there was no change. We were afarid to use it. Fortunately it did not turn into to a problem.
Great stay.CLEAN!!! Staff was great.Breakfast was a good selection and fresh. Staff stood on top of replenishing buffet. Great location. Walking distance to great restaurants and bars. The rooftop is amazing!Only thing bad was that one elevator was down and caused delays.
Credit card reservation. Knew I would arrive late. Called day ahead to confirm verbally, called again at the airport waiting for my delayed flight: My flight is delayed; I will be in very late tonight. Hold my room. Of course they have to hold the room as its guaranteed with a credit card!! But still, just to make sure, I called twice. Arrived around midnight. Walked in the lobby to see a young man have his reservation refused and was being sent to another hotel. The two hotel desk staff told me, in unison, they had no more rooms. I responded by saying that I would sleep on their couch in the back office. They found a room for me.Well, that was just the beginning. Arrived in my room, turned on the heater, and for 10 minutes it banged banged banged. I turned it off, got in bed, under the very light cover--no blanket, no down. Also, mattress sunk down...worst mattress EVER -- absolutely No support. Took a while getting comfortable trying to support myself with the many pillows.Bed and bathroom were clean. Carpet was filthy. Gooping food stuck to night stand that I cleaned up myself.Usually take my shower at night, but the 2nd morning I took a shower at 9:15. No hot water!!! It wasnt cold, but no where near hot.No refrigerator or safe in the room. Lobby carpet filthy, too.Upon check-out, I made my complaints to the manager. Why, you ask, did I not notify the mgmt the night of my arrival? Because I was exhausted from a 6-hour plane delay. Why did I not notify them the next day? Because I was going out touring and didnt want anyone in my room.Mgmt refunded me my first night. Because of that, I rated this 2 stars instead of 1 star. This hotel was NOTHING like the other Marriots that I have stayed at. Although I VERY much appreciate the mgmt refunding me a night, I cannot return to that hotel.
Reservations needs to communicate with individual hotels in some form so everyone is on the same page re: special requests and room rates. Hotel needs to staff desk appropriately. Rooms need to be cleaned so they dont smell like smoke. Parking spots should be reserved for paying guests.
A clean, well-maintained hotel with a friendly staff and adequate, though small, room accommodations. Fitness facility is basic, but adequate to sustain ones basic fitness needs. Breakfast choices are varied and the coffee is off-the-hook, killer good. Well-located to Brooklyns outstanding restaurants and entertainment amenities. On-site parking is greatly appreciated. Compact and gets the job done in friendly style!
After going out of my way to get a large room for my two week stay, I was told on arrival that my room was not available. Instead, I was given a very small room which was had to navigate. First night I tripped over my suitcase and sustained some injuries. It was great having a fitness center, but bring your own headphones and dont expect a nice view. There are no windows in the finest center. And while I was there only one elevator operational, so I had to plan ahead. Breakfast was great.
The hotel was well priced with a AAA discount figured in. I was happy to learn there was a full breakfast buffet each morning. The beds are excellent, and nearly make up for the small rooms. The rooftop patio has great views of Brooklyn, though the surrounding couple of blocks in each direction are industrial. Its a short walk to Park Slope. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The room was slightly smaller then anticipated but the staff was absolutely amazing!breakfast was great and the staff kept it fresh and replenished. had some difficulty with a sick spouse during check out - and the staff made it as smooth as possible. they where all amazing! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT WAS WORKING THAT MORNING. would highly recommend!

2022-01-15I am very impressed with the hotel. It was much better than I expected it to be in a market where you can pay a lot for subpar quality and bad service. That starts, of course, with the staff. They were, to a person, very friendly and professional. The hotel is clean, the room had everything I needed, the roof terrace is a wonderful feature, and the breakfast was very good. The only thing that was not ideal about the hotel is that it is a few blocks from anything. Its not like you can step out the front door and find cafes or shops. In fact, the immediate neighborhood is a bit dreary-- semi-industrial, with a lot of automotive service, storage, and similar businesses. Downtown Brooklyn, however, is less than half a mile away, so a short walk gets you to where the action is.That said, the hotel itself is delightful. The big, open, well-lit public area where breakfast is served, is open all the time and comfortable. Free coffee is available all the time. The two level rooftop terrace offers a fantastic view of Brooklyn and beyond. In any case, I unreservedly recommend the hotel.

2022-06-19Im a faithful Marriott customer, so theyre first on my list when it comes to travel accommodations. I know NYC hotels can be different , so Im not rating that. The room is a decent size. We were told housekeeping is every other day. No big deal to me. Although, I personally prefer a third set of towels in the room. There is a mini fridge in the room, so we kept water and drinks on hand. We were on the 4th floor, which is pretty much street level. So, yeah more traffic noise than what I wanted. The common area is beautiful and quite thoughtful. There are tables to eat, sofas to relax, and games. Thats a plus. The hotel is across the street from a park. We had to walk to 4th Ave and beyond for eats. Its not too far, but finding quick eats was a chore.Overall, its a good value.

2022-03-04Very nice hotel that actually has parking. If you need a spot, arrive early. Every employee was so friendly and helpful!!! Very nicely remodeled hotel. Rooms are nice size. The bathroom was a nice size and also remodeled. The Barclay Center is in walking distance. I believe it was a full hotel but was quiet. The hotel has a roof top bar that will open soon. The view from the rooftop is amazing. You can see the Freedom Tower and The Statue of Liberty! Just awesome! The breakfast in everything you need for the morning. We would definitely go back to this hotel. If you found this helpful, please like the post.

2022-04-07Stayed for 6 nights. Staff was nice. Rooms were small. Did not get room service one single night. As soon as it hits 5 AM, you can hear the trash trucks stopping and going at the stop light and it’s very loud. The elevator bank is next to many rooms and you can hear it clanking at everyfloor. Just a very bland experience of what could have been pretty decent.

2022-04-09Its a really good hotel. The rooms were tidy, the break is good enough and its quite close to a lot of places around. Also they have discounts and that was really good. For the price, this place is amazing.

2022-06-21Great service beautiful decore. An unexpected gem of a hotel. The neighborhood is under a lot of construction. But is a nice place to stay. My guest visiting me here in the city enjoyed their stay.

2022-06-08No housekeeping service, only every 5 days and even then the cleaning of the room is minimal. Why is there no daily room cleaning? Because of covid? I rather guess because of staff shortage. The rate is high, so what do I pay for? No in room safe.Staff is friendly but this wont clean my room. Breakfast is okay but nothing special.

2022-01-20Obnoxious and arrogant hotel manager: (1) refused to drop the charge of $166.44 for a stay that never occurred. I had forgotten to cancel reservation; this miserable individual was unwilling to make an allowance for that; (2) ignored my voicemail and e-mails about the charge. Do not give this miserable place any business.

2022-04-04I travel for business. Dont book here if you can find something else. This hotel has only 1 microwave for the ENTIRE hotel to share.... talk about cheapskates. They have a tiny $60 one thats usually dirty. Not all rooms have a fridge. Also, the beds are like wrestling mats and the pillows arent soft. I will not stay here again. My room smelled like cigarettes but they didnt have another room and I couldnt get a refund. The breakfast does not include any hot foods only bagels, toast and Jimmy dean sandwiches to microwave. I asked for extra pillows, didnt have any. When I asked to be moved they told me they were totally booked and would get back to me if any guests checked out. I noticed the room across from me was being cleaned out the next day. no call.Last time.
