We visited New York for the very first time and we stayed here. The staff was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. The subway was so close. Even the people waiting for the subway were helpful. The hotel was very clean and they had an amazing spread of assorted food for breakfast. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. They also offered shuttle service that you just have them arrange for you. This was helpful also and very convenient.I would definitely stay here again.
The most horrible experience I’ve ever had at a Marriott. First my room didn’t have enough towels. Next the vertical blinds were missing slats (See pics) and when I complained about the sunlight waking me up earlier than necessary, I was told that everyone preferred the view and that’s why the blinds were broken. Nice try Luis. I practically had to beg to be transferred to another room. The new room was freezing and we couldn’t adjust the heat. After having someone look at it, it was determined that unavailable engineering needed to fix it. We really didn’t want to have to be moved again, so they brought us one extra comforter which had spots on it. My trip was cut short because we could no longer deal with the cold. Never going back there.
Its a little tricky to locate on a side street, but that is better than being on a major thoroughfare in this area. It is a very, very busy area for traffic. There is valet parking that is easy to use and accessible 24 hours a day.The front entrance is very sleek and modern looking that leads into a lobby that is the same. The front desk is to the right and a lobby bar to the left with seating area for breakfast. No food service on-site except breakfast. The building has 14 stories and 2 elevators to service them. The hallways seem to be a little tight and narrow, but it is to give the guest rooms more space. These areas are also decorated with very modern touches. The room is quiet, quite comfortable and clean. Double windows cut out any and all street noise (except the El train if you are on that end) and views of the surrounding city. This is a great place if you need to be in Queens with access to Manhattan. It is just across the bridge.
I would never stay here again! It was filthy. My room had no hand towels or wash cloths and one bath towel for 2 people. When I asked for towels I was told they had no more. Seriously? The bed linens were horribly stained. The handle on our door was about to fall off. No other customers had masks on and were not asked to put them on. I had driven 12 hours and had to get up early and drive 12 hours again. I just wanted a shower and a clean bed. I slept on top of the bed, in my clothes with my coat as a cover. This should not be a Marriott property. I stay exclusively at Marriott properties because I can usually count on high quality. Definitely missed the mark here.
Convenient location for the price. Stayed with my husband and two tween girls. Very clean. Great service. The front desk was highly helpful. Carlos was very accommodating! I thought it was very quiet. I could barely hear the above ground subway when I was awake. It certainly never woke me up. Slept great- which is not always the case for me in a hotel. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The fact that they held our luggage before check-in and after check-out was a huge plus for us. Some of my favorite sights were seen during that time and it helped us be able to capitalize on our short time in NYC. Breakfast was great. Definitely recommend. Would stay there again.
I’ve never had a complaint with the Marriott but I’m so disappointed in this hotel. I didn’t even stay the entire night because I felt uncomfortable. Since we are in COVID times, it’s important to note that everyone in the lobby had masks but no one checked my temperature upon arrival. The hand sanitizer dispenser next to the elevator was also empty.I gave this review a star because the guy in the front desk was nice and accommodating. The first room we got, had nails on the door and mold all over the tub so obviously we asked for a new room. The front desk guy was so apologetic, gave us a free drink as a courtesy and gave us a new room. This room wasn’t any better. The counter top and furniture had so many scratches and stains, and one of the towels had a stain on it. The TV was also not working. At this point, I was over it and didn’t want to ask for another room so I left. I didn’t ask for a refund and no one questioned why we were leaving so soon. Also, the entire place smelled like weed, when it’s supposed to be a completely smoke-free environment. When we were in the elevator someone took out weed and tried to sell it to us. I felt completely uncomfortable at that point. There were also a lot of young people there that night. I’m 25 so when I say young, I mean 18 year old young. Maybe I was there on a bad night but I definitely don’t recommend this hotel.
Weve stayed at this hotel twice, and both times were equally pleasant. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the amenities are very good. The breakfasts offer a lot of variety, everything from waffles to oatmeal to eggs and bacon to fruit and yogurt. You can definitely fuel up for a day of sightseeing. The only caveat with breakfast is that EVERYBODY shows up for it, and the lobby is a little short on tables and chairs sometimes. Its best to get downstairs early. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Everyone from the front desk clerks to the housekeeping folks were helpful and nice. One great benefit of staying here is the hotels proximity to the subway and Manhattan. It is so easy and quick to get into the city. We found we didnt miss staying in Manhattan at all, and we certainly didnt have to pay Manhattan prices for our room -- another great benefit. The area around the hotel seems relatively quiet. There arent many touristy things in the neighborhood, but there are several restaurants and shops within walking distance. We really like this hotel and feel that it is good value for the money. We will happily stay here again.
The staff was amazing! We were always greeted with a smile and the kids loved returning to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing to goodies the staff had set aside for them. And we were so close to the subway station and just 4 stops away from Time square! Would definitely recommend!
This hotel is a short walk from the Queens Plaza subway stations and just a five minute subway ride to midtown Manhattan. It is a decent hotel in the medium price range. My room was on the small side and the noise from the nearby elevated trains was a minor problem. I had a couple of very minor room maintenance issues, but I did not report them to the staff. I enjoyed the free full breakfast and the comfortable bed. Hotel Wi-Fi was very slow. The room had a fridge, but not a microwave or hair dryer. I would stay again at this hotel.
The hotel is clean and very conveniently located. It was easy to get a ride anywhere we needed and off the main streets just enough to provide a more quiet place to rest. The room was clean and the bed super comfortable. The staff was excellent, they went above and beyond and were ready to answer our questions and accommodate our requests. We would definitely stay here again!
This was our first time in this hotel. It was our first time traveling with our 9mth baby, we were given a play pen that was not the cleanest and with no sheets. Glad i brought my own! The hotel was a good location for where our family lives and close to the city. The overall hotel was average. The breakfast hours were a little early for us so we only got left overs by the time we made it down. The room was not very clean, the bathroom had no counter space at all which made it a challenge for us. The noise level was fine for us. The customer service is good..everyone was friendly but unfortunately sometimes took long to get help since there was only one person at the front desk. There isnt much around the area so that is hard if you want to buy something to eat or need anything.
Excellent Fairfield with great rates and easy access to NYC. The N, R, and W Subway lines are very close by and while the area isnt pretty (currently lots of construction), it was perfectly safe. We wandered around the area at different times and never had any problems. There is a pizza place within walking distance. We stayed here with our five children (ages 12 to 20) and found the two rooms smaller than average but large enough to fit all seven of us and our luggage comfortably. Actually bigger than a lot of NYC hotels. Our rooms had two doubles, a very small wardrobe (no closet) and came with mini fridges. The bathrooms were clean and good sized for NYC. (Bigger than the Fairfield in Chelsea). Breakfast was always crowded but the staff worked diligently to keep it stocked and the selection was above average for a Fairfield (eggs, sausage, waffles, protein bar, etc). Very little hallways noise and all the other guests were polite. All the staff is outstanding!
Stayed at this property for a 2 night stay while. Attended the US Open tennis in Flushing. About 15 minute car ride, did not use subway. Check-in was a breeze, we were helped up to room with luggage. Room was narrow but clean, bed was comfortable and sheets clean--not too old. Breakfast was typical of other Marriott hot breakfasts including waffle maker--it was kept well stocked. Friendly and courteous multi-tasking employees helped in small bar in lobby, front desk and getting a taxi/car service. They were great!
We had a fantastic stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Angela was friendly and professional when we checked in. Our room was sparkling clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast--especially the fresh cut fruit!!! We both took full advantage of the fitness center. The location was perfect--just a few minutes walk from subway. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.
Nice and New Hotel!Really nice, clean, modern hotel! Near to two sub-way station, perfect for tourists to NYC. Lots of Valet parking, also two big parking garages nearby. The hotel deco is really nice, super bright and clean. Breakfast is good. However, breakfast area gets crowded really fast. The staff are good and friendly. Only one suggestion to the hotel management, for visitors outside North America and Europe, they really need to be told not to smoke in the hotel! They may not understand English or too lazy to read the warnings, but found them smoking inside several times. Last point, the coffee was the best! You all should try!
A pleasant, friendly and clean hotel in Queens/Long Island City with good transport links to Manhattan, there are 4 subway stations close by with a wide choice of subway lines.Breakfast is functional for both the time concioius business executive yet accommodates a more leisurely approach for the relaxed visitor. The rooms were nicely modern and very clean, as was the whole property and without exception the staff were friendyt, professional and willing to help, a credit to the hotel. The only downside was the overground subway train noise, a small price to pay for the proximity to subway stations and low/slow water pressure in the sinks, although the shower was fine.Would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be staying again
The proximity to Manhattan & the Subway is what made us choose this hotel, and the fact the it is part of the Marriott Family of hotels you somewhat know what to expect. The lobby staff at this hotel (this is really the only time we crossed path with employees) is exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable and always looking to ensure you are taken care of and happy! Our only issues were in regards to some billing, which was promptly fixed when brought to the hotels attention, and housekeeping. This would be the only area where I would say needs some work. While the cleaning itself was great - the rooms were clean, neat, and tidy, housekeeping either would miss us all together, and the days they didnt miss us we had to call for towels and toilet paper and coffee, calling for towels everyday was a bit inconvenient but they were always at our door within 10 minutes. Despite these minor issues I would definitely recommend this hotel and I myself will be back, the location, the cleanliness and constant drive to improve gives me confidence this hotel will correct errors and only improve with time.
The hotel was decent I really enjoyed my stay. It was clean and well kept, well decorated and fairly modern. Beds were really comfortable, with good size rooms. Bathroom was modern and clean. The rooms felt warm enough for me. The staff were really nice people, helpful and professional. The guests were all nice people too, everyone was friendly, it was like a little community the way people made friends and hung out in the lobby in the evenings. The food breakfast was really nice although it can get a little crowded around the waffle maker! But thats testiment to how tasty they are. The walking distance to the subway is not bad at all and theres a deli close by that is so good. Couldnt get my TV to work but wasnt really too fussed since I didnt go all that way to watch TV! I would definitely recommend and would go back any time.
Many Marriott hotels are designed toward attracting younger crowds. The facility is excellent although in a rather out of the way location. Rooms are relatively small and lack seating and drawer space. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast was good and seemed to be fresh, but you have to be there early to assure a wide variety of foods.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming when I checked in. I was there for one night, so I wasn’t expecting too much. But there was a leak in my bathroom coming from the sink and the shower drain was horrible. I was showering in a puddle because the water wasn’t draining. It took a good 5 minutes for it to drain. The bed wasn’t comfortable at all so I’m glad I stayed for one night. The breakfast wasn’t great. The grapes were a little old looking, the eggs were horrible, the pastries were good. But the breakfast isn’t anything great. There are a lot of options during breakfast, but the quality isn’t too great.
Looking at various hotels in NY, decided to try something different from Manhattan. This Fairfield is great! Location is in close proximity to Queens Plaza subway, very convenient if using the E subway from JFK, which I did. A quick five-minute walk to the hotel. All staff I encountered were friendly and efficient. Facility and rooms are very clean, and there were no noise issues from either within the hotel or from outside. Area is commercial with some residential off the main street (Northern Blvd.). The area is very safe. I was on foot after midnight, and felt no apprehension. There were numerous peds, and Northern Blvd. is a major thoroughfare and always moderate vehicle traffic. I walked around a bit after a late arrival and encountered no issues. Lot of eateries in the area, and the hotel provided a complimentary breakfast. It wasnt just bagels, toast, cereal, etc., but eggs and sausage. I highly recommend and would easily stay here again.
Decent room for a low price. Extremely small and my room number freaked me out a little as a NYer. 911....guess you cant help it. Staff was nice. We added an extra night no problem keeping room and rekey. Street parking makes it an option over the city very good breakfast. Bagels were fresh and make your own waffles ends early so dont miss it.
Great location with easy access to Manhattan via subway. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable but other guests can be heard through walls at times and the nearby subway and Northern Blvd can be noisy as well but overall a great stay. Nice breakfast offering in the morning as well. Weve stayed here before and will do so again as they keep improving and work hard for your business. Highly recommend this hotel.
Great location, but felt slightly dirty upon first arrival. However after spending multiple days in NYC you find out everything is dirty and the hotel is cleaner by comparison. The location is very close to 2 subway locations for getting around (the N-W station on 39th is nicer and feels safer than the E-M-R on Queens Plaza). The breakfast was decent for a big hotel with lots of people. Did not use the gym but it seems reasonable and basic. The rooms are a little noisy as one of the subway lines (N-W) is nearby and goes above ground. it did not bother us and the rooms have a sound machine as well for white noise to drown out the train sounds if that bothers you. Getting to Manhattan is very easy (maybe 20 mins) and recommend this hotel if staying in Manhattan isnt in your budget.
Outside: Appearance is nice, but the location isnt so nice. Adjacent to the subway line and a large construction site. Parking is ok along the street but there is no lot.Lobby: Pretty small but functional. They have a pantry and drinks for purchase.Restaurant: None. They have a bar with table or bar seating which is nice since they have happy hour each night except Sunday. Plus, tables are used for the breakfast time seating.Elevators: Large, but we noticed that you could wait awhile for them to stop. Companion had them pass him three times before one stopped.Room: Nice bed and linen. AC worked well. My room had a small fridge in it. Furniture was up to date. Bathroom wasnt big or small, but the shower had plenty of space with a high shower head( which I like since Im 61)Staff: Pleasant and greeted us when we came in.Only a couple downsides to this place. Proximity to tracks means you will hear the subway no matter where you are in the hotel. Free breakfast, but they ran out of milk pretty early. Breakfast had several things to choose from, but no bacon and the eggs were a bit cold.I might stay there again when Im in town, but I might try something a bit closer and cheaper if I can.
Staff are very welcoming at this hotel; they go out of their way to say hello and enquire about your stay.Due to an early flight we arrived before our room was ready but the hotel offered to hold our luggage for us. They provide a wonderful complimentary breakfast with eggs, sausages, oatmeal, pastries, fruit, waffles and so on. Its a busy room for breakfast but we never had to wait for a seat. The room has large windows which made the room cold (we visited in March). On weekdays breakfast finishes at 9 am which seemed to create a rush at this time. Perhaps extending it a bit later would help guests who like to sleep in a bit. They did extend the breakfast to 10 am one morning as there was a blizzard forecasted; letters were sent to each room to inform them of this. I thought this was a very nice gesture on their part. Rooms, though a little small (normal for New York) are very clean. One more chair (in addition to the desk chair) in the room would be nice as it would allow more guests to not have to always sit on a bed. The small fridge in the room is wonderful to keep your drinks cold. We had a great view of the above ground subway system; which we enjoyed very much. A very large tv in the room.Snacks are available for purchase in the lobby. Though the hotel is not located close to stores, we did find a pizza place about a 5 mins walk (Mikes Pizza) and a grocery store about a 15 min walk away. This hotel has great access to the subway system. If you use the North entrance and exit of the subway system you literally are only a couple of mins away from the hotel. If you use the other entrance and exit, you will be a further distance away and have to cross a busy street. We often took the E train which brings you right to Manhattan. We felt very safe at night walking from the subway to the hotel even late at night (1 am & midnight). I would highly recommend this hotel.
This place is not good. They do NOT have parking. The room is dirty. Bathtub not clean. Sink is nasty.. hairs in sink,, not mine. Even the little shampoo bottle was dirty. Room smells like mildew. The AC stinks. Windows so dirty can barely see out. Chair is missing a wheel and also dirty. Dusty. Fridge is hot, does not work. Dont know when they ever vacuumed. Dirty carpet. Bathroom floor not clean. What a disappointment.. Marriott hotel, shame shame shame.
What a great place to stay for our first ever visit to NYC. We were looking for safety, affordability, and convenience and found it all here. The hotel is a quick walk to two subway stations with a quick ride into Manhattan. We also loved the FREE breakfast. There was good variety and it was plentiful! The staff was great too; they parked our car so we didnt have to worry, and were helpful with every question we had. Id been a bit nervous about bringing our family to NYC. We had a great time and this hotel played a major part in our great trip.
I was coming to NY for the first time and heard nothing but horror stories from my friends. I was not looking forward to going to a hotel I have never seen and has middle of the road reviews. I had nothing but a great experience here. the office staff was quick and always there; the bar serves great drinks and is a funny guy; the car parking attendant was fast and responsive. The room was clean, no bed bugs as I have heard from my friends and seen on the news. The beds were so soft. I did not care for the pillows, but I really like my personal pillows at home, the hotel had nothing wrong with their pillows. The Concierge services are fantastic. I came for my daughters 16th birthday and they had set up a cake and balloons in the room to surprise her. I paid for the cake and balloons to be delivered to the hotel and the Concierge set it up in the room for free. If I ever go to NY NY again I would stay here again. They have a customer for life. FYI: sign up for their membership program for free at check in, and the more often your out in hotels and use the card to gain points you get more free stuff.
Great breakfast variety. Internet was sufficient for Netflix streaming. Very fast checkin and out. 2 windows made it nice. It’s a smaller hotel so there is no room service or restaurant but it’s NY so you’ll find tons of food just walking around or hopping on the train a few stops. Literally a few stops from the heart of NYC without paying Manhattan prices.
For hotel rate, you get a fair deal if you compare it to other hotel options. It`s close to a Subway station, which makes it easy to go back and forth to other parts in NYC. Breakfast is descent and tasty. Big BUT, room cleanness. We walk into a dirty toilet in our first night (it was our first time walking in to the room!) next day dirty bathroom mirror. Last day, beds werent done, room not clean. If you are walking and spending all day in the city (which you should NYC has lots to see) the hotel is convenient, yet laking on some essentials. But it does what you need at a fair level.
My mom booked another hotel a few blocks away for our Mothers Day Weekend. This was our first trip like this so we were extremely excited. When we got to the other hotel, the front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming. When we got to the room and walked through it, we clearly saw mold in the bathroom which also had brown running water(it was a reputable chain). We called the front desk and they said just let the water run.I hung up and called the Fairfield after finding it on Google Maps. The front desk person immediately booked us a room. When we walked in, the front desk staff was very welcoming and remained that way the entire stay. CYN was very understanding and let us know she was available to us if we needed her.The room was super clean and spacious. My mom was happy that we had a fridge since we were from out of town and wanted to store food. The bar attendant was very friendly and we really enjoyed his company.Breakfast had numerous choices and we were happy that the staff came to our table to offer juice, napkins or whatever else. I have never experienced this in a hotel before.I am thankful, Marriott came to the rescue. It salvaged the experience for us.
I have been staying at this location for 7 years and each and every time my experience has exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect for getting into Manhattan and the staff is exceptional. I actually hesitate to write this review because I dont want to have trouble booking!! So shhhhhhh But seriously, if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in NYC with a great location and exceptional staff, this is your place. And it is a short (and less expensive) cab or Uber ride to Laguardia! And explore Queens.....its great!
No pictures online made me a little apprehensive but Im very glad we stayed there. Its very close to the subway. The rooms were very clean. The staff was extremely nice. We got there a bit early. The staff checked our bags in for us. Other places weve been to charge extra for that. Fairfield did not. Maybe because I am a rewards member but it didnt seem that way. We got a parking space close to the building but if youre worried about that there is a parking lot at the bottom of the street. Very convenient. The price for the hotel was very fair for New York.
It was a cold night during our stay at the hotel. The heating/cooling system was only blowing cool/cold air in the room the entire night. My wife did not get any sleep. A maintenance worker tried to fixed the heat, but he could not resolve the problem. Furthermore, we was not able to take a shower before checking out in the morning, because the bathroom tub was clogged up. It was the weekend, no manager was available (managers dont work on weekends). We were informed by the front desk service attendant to leave a note for Management (date 2/9/20), and we did. However, we were not contacted by anyone about our experience, and it has been one week now.
The hotel was really nice and clean, valet parking is available for extra charged, the staff were excellent. Melissa at the bar was very pleasant to talk and hear about your day. For the buffet they brought in Hellmanns mayonnaise just for me ( I must have mayonnaise with my meals. Please dont judge) In general it was a good hotel, near transportation. The room was small but its NYC dont forget. Overall a great hotel. The only issue that I have is with corporate. If you book your hotel thru Egencia/Experian youll not get the rewards points because of that I will choose a different hotel next time.
Though the front desk staff was AWESOME, that cannot make up for unacceptable room condition. One blind could not cover the window. When i inquired i was told that the hotel knew about the condition. In my opinion putting a guest in a room that has an uncovered window is like putting a guest in a room without a mattress. In all my years of travel staying at even some much lower level hotels and traveling internationally i have never ever encountered this. I think i deserve my money back, but marriott instead suggested 5000 points... really? Marriott does not think closing blinds is a basic standard? Also I prepaid for the reservation but there was no room available at 430. This is also not appropriate but I could overlook this in a different context. In this context i had to go into the city refreshed for a meeting, did not see the room until late into the night when i was quite exhausted. Finally twice I asked to speak to a manager about the situation and both times there was no hotel manager on duty. What the heck? I feel i deserve a refund!
Every hotel tries to concentrate on what they think is best for their profitability. Catering the right way for the traveling public isnt on top of the agenda for this particular hotel. They charged $35 plus tax pe night for parking and of course its valet so the tip brings its to $40 or more per night/ day.Rooms are tight!!!Go someplace else. As a Marriott member for approximately 20 years: Im disappointed.
I have been staying at this hotel, giving it a chance for 3 times already. Only did the first stay made somewhat of a positive impression. I was at this property in July 2019, October 2019 and most recently on February 2020.Breakfast - whoever was preparing the breakfast could care less what the people would eat. Instead of oatmeal, there was oatmeal soup. Large chunks of oatmeal were swimming in the water. If you are late for eggs at 6:30am, dont expect to get any more. Fruit is half frozen.Housekeeping - I had came down twice to ask for more towels, stating that my room has not been cleaned at all since I have checked in. Sorry to hear that, heres some towels. Nothing has been done about this, the room has not gotten cleaned, no points have been given either as an apology. Was woken up at 3am one morning by staff listening in on conversation happening in the storage room between other staff.
I have stayed about 8 times in this hotel due to its convenient location for accessing subway trains and the airport LGA. Also I like very much the hotel staffs who are generally very kind and serviable. A small bar neat and friendly in the lobby area is good for socializing with other people. The room rate of this hotel is quite reasonable for the location, quality of services and amenities. However, the flip side of being well located in NY means that a sky train passes right nearby and the street noise level combined with the subway could impact your sleep sometimes. Additionally, the free breakfast is descent. However, it can be over crowed between 7:30 and 8 am.Overall, I would continue to stay in this hotel compared to other similar hotels in the same area.
Most importantly: the staff is amazing. Theyre all super friendly and always are willing to help. On my first (of many nights) at the hotel, a staff member by the name of Ithamar saw me at the coffee counter in the lobby. She came over to ask how my night was going. I informed her there was no more hot water. She went to the kitchen, heated some water, and made sure I got my hot chocolate! That was very much appreciated after a long day of traveling in damp weather. My room was clean. I wish the room was a little bigger but I cant beat the overall value of the hotel (location, staff, pricing, breakfast, bar, etc.). (I had the base-tier room. Not a suite.) The hours on their dining services are great (until 9:30a for breakfast, until 11p for the bar.) The staff will try to get to know you by name. The desk clerk greets me every evening after work as if Im a long-time resident. The front desk also accompanied my late checkout. I appreciated that. It made my day a lot easier and less stressful. When I checked out, I informed them of two small mechanical problems in the room (sticky door and slow, dripping pipe). They really werent bad or annoying. Otherwise I would have said something earlier. The desk clerk was very, very apologetic. This was my first of many, many business trips here and I will be returning! (PS: There is easy access to the Subway. Several lines are just a block away.)
We had a great time!!! AWESOME HOTEL, the employees were absolutely helpful and courteous, very clean, close to metrorail, WE LOVED IT and have already recommended to friends and family. There is ONLY ONE thing that we totally hated and were bothered by.... The concierge in the Lobby was extremely pushy and was taken decisions for us. It seems like he gets commissions from Andres Pizza and the taxi service. We went to Mikes Pizza instead and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and a lot cheaper than the one he was forcing us to use. Other than that guy, this hotel was absolutely spectacular!!!!! Breakfast was totally delicious every day, and the crew was amazing as well as housekeeping. We must enforce that the general manager of this hotel has to be very fortunate to have an amazing personnel. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!
A very good value priced 2-night hotel experience was provided at this Fairfield Inn. The highlights were a friendly yet efficient staff combined with a like new room, providing a great 3 day business focused stay in the hustling New York City environment.Nothing fancy mind you but all staff working in harmony (with customers AND each other) and everything clean and comfortable with responsive and knowledgeable staff interactions. Cant find anything negative to say (and I would if I had any issues!).I had a very good experience for my first time at this location.
Very personable and accommodating staff! The hotel was very clean and reasonably priced for our weekend getaway. Hot coffee and breakfast was a bonus, before we ventured out into NYC. The hotel as a second floor patio, which we enjoyed relaxing on each night after we got back to the hotel. We will be back for sure!
This is the noiseyest hotel Ive ever stayed in. Especially under the Marriott brand. Theyre supposed to be housing us (first line responders) so I expected a much more professional and pleasant experience than what Im getting. There have been fights on the premises, the walls are paper thin, and when the manager is out for the day, the staff act as if they dont know how to handle situations. Id this wasnt so close to work for me, Id check out in a heartbeat. I have every intention of calling corporate to file a formal complaint.
One of the best locations I have been to! We were stuck in traffic in Manhattan on the night of our arrival and I placed a call to the hotel where a gentlemen named T answered and when asked where to park the car to unload our belongings and then have the car parked by valet, he stated that there was only one spot left, but seeing as how we were running late he was more then happy to hold the spot, we arrived ten minutes later and after checking in with T at the front desk, he had another gentlemen help us unload the car and then he took the car to the last parking spot. We then took pour luggage to our room to find that on a hotel with 15 floors and across the street from an elevated Subway the room was quiet! No noise outside the door or walls or roof, no one running overhead or up the halls, no one beating on the walls, this was the quietest hotel I have ever been to. Did we hear the train? Yes, but we have a train track outside our bedroom window, so it was like being home! They had a device that made soothing wave crashing on the beach noises, and others for a way to quiet the noise, but we did not need it. Mr. T at the front desk even was kind enough to comp our parking fee! This was a great saving, we never asked to move the car the 4 days we were there, we took the train everywhere, and enjoyed the hotels delicious breakfast! If you left hungry you were to blame, eggs and sausage were hot and tasty, they also had make them yourself hot waffles, and bagels and toast and muffins and fruit and cereal and yogurt, milk and orange and apple juice, coffee, and water, this is a great selection. The people here really care, they were always helpful and always friendly, Mr. T deserves a raise and the management team needs to recognize their staff for outstanding customer service, clean linens, clean room, spotless hotel, no odors, nothing out of order, everything worked and the warm colors and art were exciting and fresh. This is a keeper, this hotel gets a 5 star rating from me, I urge anyone staying in the New York area to stay here, I know I will return, for this is truly home away from home. Thank you to the entire team at Fairfield Inn and Suites New York Queen/Queensboro Bridge, for treating us like family. And once again a special thanks to Mr. T.
GOOD location! Easy to commute to Grand central, Central Park, Brooklyn bridge, Times square and other places. I arrived 2 hours before check-in and the staffs gave my room a priority clean up. It was done within 30 minutes.Save neighbourhood. Grocery(food) stores en restaurants are at a walking distance.I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Most of the staff were great, there was one that was very dismissive of my concerns however. They put me in a handicap accessible room, which wouldve been except there was no bath and I had been looking forward to that. They were unable to make any changes since they were at full capacity instead kept telling me that I should be happy because its a bigger room. Called about yelling and partying coming from neighboring room, nothing was done. I smelled cigarettes and I **think weed on my floor. Breakfast was good and I appreciated the veggie sausages. The hotel couldve been cleaner.
Tiffany provided the most exceptional customer service I’ve received at a hotel. She made sure our room was satisfactory and provided my husband a gift bag after we informed her it was his birthday. It was a small gesture but one that made this experience exceptional. It has excellent proximity to Manhattan and is easy to access via car or public transport. I will definitely return to this hotel.
This staff is extremely pleasant. Each time they saw me they spoke ask how I was doing. The lobby is small and quaint And it does include a bar . The breakfast is pretty good item stayed replenished also there was an area for Snacks and Beverages. I was able to walk blocks from restaurants and catch a ride share with lift or Uber with in a Reasonable price. The Subway is nearby. I would say that would be the only downfall is hearing the train but this would not deter me from staying at this hotel. Unfortunately, there are no restaurant in the hotel but with the help of Uber eats or door dash lunch/dinner was not a problem
The Hotel is nice and clean. The breakfast was good too, although it was more or less the same thing for all the 4 days we were booked there. The Location is very convenient in terms of distance from public transport especially the subway being only a 2-4 minute walk from the hotel.
It is a true 3 star hotel. The hotel is a bit worn. The bed was not very comfortable and you could hear and feel the springs moving. We stayed as a large group and it seemed as if one of the rooms had mold in the bathroom. There are stains in the carpet throughout the hotel and rooms . In getting breakfast it was hard to get what I was requesting because the staff did not understand my request. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. It does seem that in New York there seems to be a trend of being understaffed at the front desks.
This is a nice hotel convinient and close to the trains. The room is a bit small and the bed is a bit noisy when you move a lot. But again this is New York and space is a primium. Breakfast is good, I would only wish that they would extend the time to at least 10am on weekends rather than end it a 9am since those are the days people try to sleep in and breakfast traffic is heavy. Other than that staff are freindly and willing to help out and again in New York standard this is not bad.
The hot water was either working or it just wasnt and thats very frustrating since we were in our room for 4 days. It rained all day one day so decided to take an afternoon in then lo and behold not only do they NOT have internet TV options as advertised online their tv system was out (idk what they use??) Or course most people dont travel to sit and watch TV but we had our reasons. The elevator was frustratingly slow if that matters to you. The room was clean but definitely not up to Marriott standards, this is coming from someone that travels for work and stays in only Marriot. The breakfast was good but it was out and shut down at least 15 minutes early each day and Im sorry but that is really unacceptable to me. Its relatively close to the subway entrance so thats definitely a plus. Overall for the price i would have to say do not recommend staying here, again if the price was less Id be willing to overlook a lot of the things but certainly not what we paid for it.
My husband and I were only in the hotel for about 12 hours but experienced no issues and had a nice, clean room to sleep in. We loved that it had parking so we didnt have to worry about finding street parking in Queens at midnight on a Thursday. The only thing I will note is that the hotel is RIGHT next to a subway line so if you are a super light sleeper, you may want to bring ear plugs or take advantage of their white noise machine that comes in your room.
I stayed at this Fairfield Inn for one night while on a business trip because my normal locations were super expensive for a conference in town. The front desk associates were extremely helpful and friendly!I gave this a 4/5 because the rooms are pretty small and somewhat noisy. I also used the fitness center, which seemed significantly smaller than some other hotel ones Ive been to in NY.On the plus side, this location is close to the train and pretty convenient for getting into the city!
This is a good location not too far from Queens plaza subway stop. About a 5 minute walk.the rooms are clean in the staff is very nice. There are refrigerators in the rooms as well as coffee makers. Safe available in the closet.as other reviews have mentioned, be sure to ask for the side of the hotel that is a little quiet and away from the train that runs by next door. It sounds like a loud airplane going by. If you ignore it its not too bad but it can be obnoxious if you are sensitive to loud noises while sleeping.
For a tourist class hotel it has everything you need: nothing more, nothing less. Staff is excellent, very friendly and service minded (not always common in NY), rooms very clean, bathroom spacious. For NY standards very good & extensive breakfast. Options for a healthy breakfast too (also not always common in NY tourist class hotels). The Queensboro neighborhood is not very inviting (still all development area), but the metro stations are so close by the hotel that this is not any issue at all. But I guess this makes a positive difference in the room rates compared to hotels in Manhattan.
This place is a great little hotel located near the subway making our trips into town about 15-20 mins on average. There are a few nice bars and restaurants close by and it seems like more are coming with all of the development going on so it should be even better over time. For the rates we got for our stay over Thanksgiving we couldnt have been happier with the stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and even helped us find cheaper parking when their lot was full when we arrived hours later than we said we would.
Overall the hotel was nice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, although very american with lots of sugary foods (and disposable tableware causing huge amounts of trash). The rooms were quite nice and clean, nothing to complain. The location was good having a subway station quite near.
This hotel embodies everything I like about the Marriott formula. Carefully chosen locations, great staff that make you feel welcome and uniqueness that distinguishes every property. This location is in the midst of an area of NYC that is going through a huge transformation and the team here appreciated the opportunity that this creates. Every staff member I met was enthusiastic about customer service and made us comfortable and enjoy our stay. Will definitely use the close proximity to manhattan and access to a variety of public transport, protected parking and reasonable nightly rates may make this my anchor location in the future.
This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Manhattan. Easy access to the train station and just a quick trip into Manhattan, train station is just about a block away. There are not many places to eat or any stores around this hotel which made it a little inconvenient on the nights we did not want to go into the city. There is an awesome local pizza place just around the corner--Mikes Pizza; They serve breakfast, excellent cheeseburgers along with some amazing pizza. They also deliver to the hotel. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. My family and I stayed in a double room which was a little too small for the four of us but we made it work.
My sister and mothers stay at the Fairfield Inn, New York Queensbridge was an exceptionally good experience for both of them. As they both live outside of New York City, this short trip back to the City on business was very good. My mother being extremely picky was very impressed with the level of service, the approachability of the entire hotel staff, and cleanliness of the facility itself. I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Big Apple. It is close to a variety of public transportation modes which include the subway, bus and taxis. It is located right off Northern Boulevard which leads directly into mid-town Manhattan. I would be remiss if I did not mention that there is a lot of construction in the surrounding area not related to the hotel which should be completed soon as well as vehicular traffic. So as a visitor, you should be mindful when crossing the streets throughout your stay. Overall though, an excellent stay and experience for both my sister and mother.
This Fairfield should train other hotel staff members on how to run a facility. As soon as I arrived the staff was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about their job and the area. The hotel was clean, well designed and maintained, there was a wide variety for breakfast and little treats throughout the day. I travel a lot, yet I’ve never stayed here before but I definitely will again and I recommend others do the same. Throughly enjoyed my stay! Thank you
I was completely satisfied and happy with my stay here. The staff is exceptionally welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful. I dont recall everyones name that I came across (unfortunately) but I can tell you that everyone I came in contact with that works here was so kind. There was a gentleman staff that I stopped at breakfast and asked if I can get some whipped cream for my hot coco and to my surprise he greeted me warmly and responded Absolutely Mrs.C, wow... how did he know my name. Carlos at the front desk also greeted me warmly at check-in, he was very personable and professional, making polite small talk and instructing me if I needed anything during my stay to please contact him and he will be there to assist. During the week on a very cold day, I found a complimentary hot coco station in the lobby with all the bells and whistles toppings plus an assortment of cookies!! Hello, they had me at hot coco, but the cookies... ahh man, I love this hotel! I literally felt like I was a diamond member at s 5-star property by these truly amazing service experiences. I look forward to staying here again. Its also a pretty convenient location, the E train is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a car ride can get you on the Manhattan island in just about 10 minutes (However, the traffic once you hit Manhattan is another story, that can be a nightmare). However, this hotel is a dream.
We had NYCity attractions to visit and did not want to pay NYCity hotel prices. We chose this Fairfield as a reasonable hotel with safe choices for the Metro Station (two stations I walking distance). Within 30 minutes we left hotel and were at 9/11 Museum or Statue of Liberty Ferries. Room was clean, well appointed, including the delicious full breakfast. Extras such as hot water for tea and coffee 24/7; soy milk for coffee/cereal; veggie breakfast patties, fresh fruit...all made for us being able to keep a healthy diet. We would definitely stay here again!
Although the hotel is initially difficult to find at first because its located on a one way street heading toward a major road, it became easier to navigate once we were used to it. The hotel was spotless throughout with a very comfortable king size bed. Room however was small. The staff was very friendly and helpful and at times could not do enough to please. Was hard to believe that we were in New York! The breakfast was excellent and provided a wide variety of options. The subway was a short two minute walk with a direct line ending at the World Trade Center about 25 minutes. We would recommend this hotel.
Liana is the best! I really appreciated how friendly and courteous everyone here was, the clean rooms, freshly baked cookies. Most important to me is clean. Rooms shine and sparkle. Towels perfect. Plus for New York the room was quiet and the pillows were soft. I was able to get an early check in and many special requests, questions answered, and amazingly friendly service via Liana and everyone at this hotel. 🙏🙏🙏✨✨✨✨✨ Thank you Fairfield inn & Marriott for this lovely, literally life saving experience that changed my life forever. Bonvoy!!
Service was very good. Everyone was extremely friendly. The room was a typical Fairfield. Clean but a few marks on the wall. Breakfast was ok. Typical fruit, cereals, eggs, bacon, etc. Didn’t have any berries or deli cheeses though :-(. Not many great restaurants near by but Manhattan restaurants are only a few subway stops away. Pretty easy access to the subway at Queen Plaza - 5 min walk.
We stayed here for a family weekend before Christmas. The staff at this hotel are truly customer-oriented and they were just wonderful, fun people. From check-in where they served warm brownies to their welcoming family members who came in group by group, this staff celebrated family along with us. They were warm, kind, efficient, and we will be back!
The parking lot was full so we had to pay to park in an independent lot which was not affiliated with the Hotel. The whole reason for choosing this hotel over a hostel in Manhattan was the availability of parking. So it was frustrating to have driven/ taken the subway out of our way for something that was never stated on the website. To make matters worse, we were not offered ANY kind of compensation. This limited parking needs to be advertised prominently or rectified by partnering with the parking lot RIGHT around the corner and offering validated parking. Otherwise a fine room. The above ground rail nearby was mildly annoying for those not used to it, though I was fine.
Location is close to Manhattan with easy access to Subway. The cost was reasonable. The breakfast buffet is good. Our room was clean and modern. Having cold water infused with citrus fruit in the lobby is a big plus. One drawback is that there arent shops or restaurants near the hotel.
A wonderful, quiet place in the noisy city. Our room was very clean. The bed was comfy. The included breakfast was very good - many choices. You could eat healthy or indulge in pastries. The staff was awesome - professional but very personable. Would definitely stay here again. Give Mikes pizza, a block away, a try. Great menu and they deliver!
I was charged by this hotel even though my company already paid for my accommodation. The service desk consultant never ever bothered to provide me with any invoice to explain why I was charged in full on check-in. Only having checked out did I realise on my bank statement that I was charged in full. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, the breakfast is mediocre and theres a bad odour in the hotel. The elevator also sounds like it is about to break any time. I wonder if the safety of the hotel is even monitored.
Horrible. Avoid.I had to get another room due to the air conditioning not working. The linen in the new and old room had light stains on them. The tv in my new room doesnt work. There is no microwaves in the rooms, only downstairs. The ice machines are not on each floor. only 14th floor and that one is damaged and out of service. Alot of the interior designs in this hotel has been destroyed. Skid marks on the wall and in the bathroom wall. Alot of homeless live here and as I was riding the elevator one guy assumed I knew this other homeless guy that was on my floor. Worst hotel experience.
The hotel and rooms were spotless. It was the cleanest hotel that Ive stayed in in NYC and Ive stayed in a lot, especially all over Manhattan. Great price - worth every penny. The staff were so extremely friendly and helpful! I couldnt have asked for a better stay! It is also very close to Manhattan. If you drive, then it is a great spot because it is cheaper than Manhattan but right over the bridge so you can get there in no time!
Excellent location very close to several train lines and just a couple stops from Manhattan. Staff overall are friendly and professional. Housekeeping staff does a great job keeping rooms clean and tidy. Business center (if you could call it that, theres not much of a business center at this facility) could use an upgrade- only one printer is available for guest use and it was often not working (jammed) or out of paper during my stay. Complimentary breakfast has some vegan options-fresh fruit, bagels, juice and there is tea/coffee for guests near the bar area.
My friends and I came into the city to attend the Rose Mansion! I received a nice members rate welcome bag. We found a small bug in our room in which Vanessa at the front desk and immediately switched rooms with awesome customer service! I really appreciate that and everything else that she did to make sure our stay was okay. She even checked on us afterwards! The next evening, I didnt think she would remember my name but upon entering the hotel, she greeted me which was very welcoming. I really liked the fact that they had a turkey sausage option along with the pork sausage. The rest of the staff was nice as well. Parking wasnt too hard to find on the street and the hotel was right next to the subway which was a plus. If I came back to that particular area, I would definitely recommend anyone I know to stay there!
Ive stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Long Island City several times while in New York. Compared to the hotels in the city (Manhattan) and the parking fee its a no brainer to stay here. Even though its near a major street, you dont hear the outside noise. I sleep peacefully each visit. Im also impressed with the breakfast. They serve turkey sausage. I know it doesnt sound important, but its a big deal to me. I normally cant eat meat when I go to other properties because they serve pork. The staff are great. The property is spotless and the convenience to other boroughs is ideal.
Very friendly staff. Breakfast is free and pretty good. Support staff at the breakfast and room cleaning team is very polite too. Overall great customer service.Only downside is the room size. Its definitely not worth the price we pay per night.Connectivity is a big plus. 5 min walk to Queens plaza station and 5 Ave station which connects to downtown Manhattan and Time Square. Safe locality and 15 min to LGA airport. There is a 7 Eleven close by which is open 24 hrs.
This hotel is certainly a gem. We stayed for a few days with a large group of middle schoolers and parents. The hotel staff was very accommodating, allowing us to use (overtake, really, with 80 people!) their lobby and dining area. The staff even ran upstairs last minute to locate a missing sweatshirt right before we had to leave. The rooms were clean and provided inventive storage space. More than three people per room is not advised, however. We enjoyed only needing to walk a block to the nearest subway station (E line). Our charter busses did have some difficulty unloading at the front. The back entrance provided much more street room and caused less of a backup for traffic. The neighborhood felt safe enough for our group to navigate together, keeping in mind that safety is in numbers whenever youre in an unfamiliar city. Finally, their breakfast offerings were top notch! Options for every taste and dietary need. Thanks again to the staff for helping us have a wonderful stay!
Nice, modern Hotel with very friendly staff which is glad to help you with any questions. The rooms are clean and offer a fridge and coffee machine as well as a flat screen TV. The complimentary breakfast offers a good selection with waffles, eggs, sausage, vegetarian alternatives, cereal and fresh fruit. I honestly was positively surprised by its quality and the available selection.
The hotel is located off Northern Avenue in Long Island City and is very convenient for subways (E line). That is critical since there is a dearth of local businesses near hotel. This will probably change since there is much construction is process around the hotel (as of September 2016). The hotel itself is very nice (especially for the price!). Staff was very friendly and responsive. The room was clean and well appointed - although modest in size. Great alternative to the expensive Manhattan hotels.
This is a great hotel, the room was a little small, but clean. The staff is great and courteous, from the front desk, to the breakfast team, to the maid service. The location is close to the subway, putting you within 30 minutes of most all of the tourist attractions in Manhattan. The complimentary breakfast has plenty to choose from to feed you and or your family, no bacon though. The exercise room, though we did not use it, has enough for you to get a good cardio workout in, and even some free weights.
This hotel is great with average-sized rooms within New York standards. This modern, contemporary hotel has free breakfast, in-room refrigerator, sleep-sound machine, free wi-fi...all the necessities to be in/out with a good rest. Average size breakfast room, bar, business center is out in the open for quick needs. Rooms are average, yet comfortable to get work & rest. 3 blocks from Queens Plaza Blvd, where there are plenty quick food options, banks, subway & train stations.
Its probably a slightly older hotel, but I was a little disappointed when I arrived. I understand as hotels get used (especially in NYC) they start to look run down. However simple things like floors being dirty bring down the quality. (Update: After spending 4 nights in NYC you discover everything in NYC is a little dirty and the hotel actually seemed relatively clean comparatively). The location is very close to 2 subway locations for getting around. (The N-W location on 39th is nicer and feels safer than the E-M-R on Queens Plaza) The breakfast was decent for a big hotel with lots of people. Did not use the gym but it seems reasonable and basic. The rooms are a little noisy as one of the subway lines (N-W) nearby goes above ground. It did not bother us and the rooms have a sound machine as well for white noise to drown out the train sounds. Getting to Manhattan is very easy (maybe 20 mins) and recommend this hotel if staying in Manhattan isnt in your budget
The best hotel in New York to stay at!! We had family holiday and enjoyed the time!!! The hotel provides everything you need as a tourist: a big TV, a hairdryer, a fridge, a coffee machine, an iron. Every morning we enjoyed baked waffles!!! The room was big and comfortable. The staff were great!!!
The Fairfield Inn provided much needed rest as I waited for a flight home after my original flight was cancelled. The staff in reception was very welcoming and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. There was a bar and breakfast as well as free wifi. The hotel was like a little hidden gem or oasis in the middle of the city. It was quiet inside and the bed provided a great night’s sleep.
The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and not much to do in the area within walking distance. The room smelled a little sour. The lobby is in need of new carpet. On the plus side, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the shower is a perfect walk in. Nice size bathroom. We chose this hotel because we thought it was close to airports. It was a $50 cab ride from JFK airport and a $30 cab ride from La Guardia. Do yourself a favor and stay in Manhattan.
I also stayed here for 3 days, the weekend of April 24th, 2015. I wanted to submit my survey comments on my stay, but did not see your survey email in time; and it would not let me upload my survey. I would appreciate it, if you could also note as to how enjoyable my stay was; in April, and also this weekend. I enjoyed everything about my stay, both times, and exceptional hot breakfast bar, the stellar hospitality of all the staff members. They talked to me, by name, treated me as if I had been a long time family friend. I was ECSTATIC, that not only do have the availability for valet parking, but they allowed me to leave my car parked right outside the front of the hotel for FREE during my entire visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The money they save me with their delightful hot breakfast, and parking amenities, gave me me the ability to splurge on other things, while I was in New York. Great location & easy access for all my business and fun plans. This is the only hotel for me when Im in New York!
I stayed at this hotel after returning from an international trip late in the evening. I didnt realize how far it was from JFK, which is the only negative thing about it. I should have done a bit more research before booking the hotel. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay. Upon arrival, we were each given a wonderful goodie bag that included York Peppermint Patties and bottled water. We found this endearing and thoughtful. The hot breakfast is fantastic! They served scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, pastries, and fruit. Loved it!The front desk was also kind enough to book us a flat rate taxi so that we could return to the airport the next morning for our return trip to the airport to take our flights back home. It actually saved us a little money compared to the yellow taxi we took from the airport upon arrival the previous day.Id stay here again if I needed to conduct business or doing anything leisure in the area.
I love love LOVE this location! I request to stay here when work sends me to NY. It’s super close to the city, it’s clean, It has a bar, but above ALL of that...the staff is communicative and beyond accommodating...I caught a stomach virus at my job and when I came back to the hotel, they gave me ginger ale, brought me soup and Tiffany at the front desk went above and beyond and loaned me her phone charger. When I was at my worst, they brought out their best! I recommend this Marriott with enthusiastic thumbs and toes up!
I came here because not only was it was it the best deal, it is about 10mins by train to the city but also because its a beautiful hotel. I had helped plan my best friends bachelorette party and this was ideal! Very clean, very cozy and spacious. The staff Tiffany, Carlos and Cndie were amazing, truly went above and beyond with service and such a pleasant demeanor which is rare to find in NYC, I am a native new yorker as well. I thank them so much for making it a memorable one! Will definitely recommend and come again!!
This hotel is centrally located for those needing ready access to both Queens and Manhattan. We found it to be super convenient and comfortable.Theres a subway stop (IND line E/M/R trains) a block from the hotel; its just a stop or two away from midtown Manhattan. Theres a lot of construction in the area so if travelling by car, its a little tricky to get to the hotel. The lobby is small but efficient; the free breakfast alcove is located just off the entrance. Valet parking is convenient and there is also plentiful street parking as well as a cheaper private parking lot at the end of the block. We opted to use the valet service as we often returned very late at night. Every staff member were very friendly and helpful. The room was just the right size and clean. The king bed was super comfy. The shower was clean and well stocked. We discovered that the shower leaked a little and we used a couple of the hand towels to mop this up. The cleaning staff provided extra towels to help us; that was a bonus since we hate walking on cold tile. Theres no room service. So youll have to call and order, or use a food delivery service. Theres a few restaurants in the area but we just opted to dine either in Manhattan or Queens. Since were vegan, it was easier to go and hang out in the hipster areas where a few of the vegan places were located. Checking in and out was a breeze.
The value and location of this property cant be beat. It is close to several subway stations just across the river to Manhattan. We enjoyed Manhattan but this location also allowed us to enjoy Queens as well. We never felt unsafe walking the area. The room was comfortable, clean, and overall quiet. The noise was limited to some city noise and a low rumble of the trains but the a/c muffled it. The hotel provided a sound machine but we didnt feel the need to use it.
Staff was so friendly and pleasant, this is top priority for me, they past the test with flying colors. Compliments to the chef and his assistant, breakfast was more than I expected and it was delicious! Valet parking was quick and easy, the guys really went above and beyond to accommodate me, they even took the time to help me search a large Volvo SUV for my cell phone, I was so appreciative of the young man who helped. The front desk and bartender made me feel right at home, I was quite comfortable. I will be back, for this price and excellent service.. I love Fairfield Inn and Suites....
Fairfield Inn was the perfect place for my trip, near the Metro to Penn Station, to One World Trade Center and even to the stadium of the New York Mets. I got the key exactly at 3pm, the app and earlier check-in was waste of time. The room on the 15th flour was nice and quiet and with good coffee machine, still the price was very high (but it was ok because of the situation in New York). There were a lot of students in the hotel at the same time, I wondered if they got a better price. At the check-out, there was no problem leaving my luggage until 4 oclock, which I appreciated a lot, because I wanted to go to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as my flight was in the evening.
Mixed review: The staff was helpful with directions and how best to get around the city. They also let us check in early after a long red eye flight so we could nap before doing college tours, which was very helpful. However, our room was not as clean as we are use to from Marriott and staff did not follow up on a gross issue with our room.
Check-in experience was average in general, but below average for what I expect of a Marriott brand. Uninterested late-night check-in experience with the front desk rep.Free breakfast was of a higher quality and had more options than I expected. It had the normal stuff (waffle maker, cereals, yogurt, eggs, bacon, juices, coffees) but it also included hard boiled eggs, several fresh fruit options (whole and cut/prepared) and lots of little extras. Again, better then expected.Subway is 5 min walk, and you have multiple trains direct to Manhattan.
A new property right across the river from Manhattan. Very reasonable rates for a Marriott hotel and so close to all the sites. Outstanding and very friendly staff make for a welcome stay in a comfortable and clean room. A great buffet breakfast to start your day. We will stay here again.
The staff is great and very friendly. Theyre responsive to any problems and always greet with a smile. The prices are competitive. The rooms are clean and are a descent size for the neighborhood. Theres some background noise from the elevated train and nearby construction but nothing the in room white noise machine cant handle. Breakfast hours starstart early and end late (9:30a on week nights). They have a nightly bar too. Theyre my regular stop for monthly business trips.
The heat was limited. They had to send a technician to unlock the limiter on the thermostat. A false fire alarm went off in middle of the night. A good sleep was interrupted for nothing. The staff was friendly, but that cant overcome the other things that arent typical in Marriott properties. I love Marriott otherwise and am a platinum elite member.
The stay was a very pleasant surprise. The staff was particularly helpful and went out of their way to be accommodating. The only room for improvement that I saw was on the breakfast during the weekend. The kitchen was understaffed for the huge numbers of people being served. While the content of the meal was excellent, the waiting time was long while the kitchen continually replenished some of the parts of the meal. The staff was working very hard and were friendly, it appeared the crowd had not been planned for and it was an unrealistic burden on the few staff to provide an excellent rating because of the numbers being served.
Hotel location is five mins from two different metro stations in a safe area. This hotel is great as a base but dont expect any frills, its a no nonsense safe bet for a stay in NYC. Breakfast is functional but beware the toaster and waffle machine wait, seating can get interesting at peak times as there arent enough tables and chairs to go round.
I enjoyed a four night stay at Fairfield Inn, Queens. It was conveniently located, clean, and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was outstanding and generous with hot and cold choices. In-room coffee and a refrigerator were useful. WiFi and HBO were available as was a business center for printing that boarding pass. I could walk to the metro station, have lunch at an excellent nearby bistro and from the 10th floor see the Manhattan skyline and bridge lit up at night. I will definitely stay here again when I am next in Queens - only minutes by metro from Manhattan. I went into Midtown and Chelsea and Astoria to visit museums, shop, have dinner and see some great jazz. Easy transportation.(While the question below mentions dining, I answer regarding breakfast which was excellent. No dining or room service is available. Snacks and drinks can be purchased at the desk.)
I normally stay at marriotts during vacation and for local stays. However this particular one was awful and we were not told the cable was out and the WiFi wasn’t working on New Year’s Eve. Horrible and dull. Will not be staying there again. I booked my stay with Booking and their customer service was wonderful and were able to at least give me a $20 refund but the hotel manager refused to provide any compensation whatsoever - even a apology wasn’t issued. They knew if they let guests know their cable and Internet was out no one would want to stay on NYE.
This is my first usage of Fairfield hotel and I was positively surprised with the quality of the hotel.it is definitely has great ROI.I was happy with the peaceful atmosphere at the hotel, although it was holiday time. The hotel is well maintained and rooms are well equipped to fit our vacation with the kids. The location of the hotel is also great between two MTA stations, give you a lot of option to go in/out efficiently.Breakfast is healthy and tasty and the cleaning service of the dining area is happening all the time, despite the high load of guest during the time I was hosting.
Stayed as Dayuse and I found out that this hotel is just for that..for dayuse. The location is not the greatest ( a lot of construction around ). The rooms are not in good shape, very dirty place. There was a framed poster on the wall, over the bed board which the glass was broken, I was afraid to fall sleep and that piece of glass falls over me, it was not comfortable, I was just for an hour and I left. The management should revise this kind of hazard issues
Highly disappointed, so sad to see a hotel still in the same condition as in the 80s. It’s time to get it together Marriott and modernize this poor hotel. Everything was old, out dated and torn up. It even had to old fashion room conjoining door inside hotel room. From the carpets to the bath sinks, counter tops, curtains... was just eww. I will never step foot in another Fairfield hotel. I didn’t have any wash clothes in my room except 1 used one on the counter. Eww! Thank God i always bring my own. The portable heating the hung from the wall was only blowing out cold air even after i turned the heat to 80. They had to change me to another room and that room was just as bad as the first one but at least the heat worked. 2020 resolution for this hotel should be to get an upgrade, remodel... whatever it takes because you’ll continue to loose customers like me to modernizes hotels like Aloft... which is where i enjoyed the next 2 days of my stay.... Thank God!!!
Very good except for no noise machine to overcome periodic and frequent over ground trains. Also breakfast was exactly the same for the 6 mornings- could be a bit more creative. Staff is excellent. Room was comfortable and clean. Excellent location for doing business and meeting family in Manhattan and Brooklyn
The room we had was really small, dark and unclean. The fresh towels they gave us had hairs on it! The bed sheet has a stain. The bed itself gave me back pains when sleeping. The AC thermostat/controller doesnt work so we had manually adjust the AC. The hallway was dirty. We can hear the train loudly from our room. We didnt feel relaxed in this place.
Good price, Great hotel but with a broken heater and a TV that doesnt work this five star turns into a three. Hopefully they fixed the drain that didnt work in the shower this morning? The service and staff was top notch and everything was clean other then I found euros on the floor so obviously there was neglect with the vacuuming. And the room was broken! Ez fix and actually way better then the other sister hotel we stayed at in Brooklyn.
My only issue with this hotel was how dirty the carpet in our room was. We had an almost 2 year old with us who is all over the place. After we would shower our feet would be black from walking on the carpet in the room. Everything else was nice. Perfect location and not noisy.
The hotel has spacious and clean rooms with a friendly staff. It is a five minute walk to the nearest subway station which brings you directly to Manhattan. There is an above ground subway line at the back of the hotel which causes a bit of noise but it didnt really bother us.
Awesome location - Great Staff. Modern Hotel - great breakfast. Felt safe - close to Subway.Great trip. Trust me Im extremely picky when it comes to Hotels was a little skeptical - had read other reviews not sure what to think but it was the best decision we could have made to stay at this Hotel.
Everyone at Fairfield was great. From check-in to check-out all staff was helpful and friendly. There was a small problem with a locking window latch the was fixed within 5 minutes. Close to subway. A great place to stay to get out and see NYC. Dennis at the front deak was exceptional. I will stay again and would recommend to anyone. One of the best experiences at a hotel I have had
We stayed overnight as my friend had a doctor appointment. The staff was very courteous and helpful with our needs. Maybe you could stock Tylenol in your gift shop as we had to walk to a sketchy area at night to buy some. Matthew the bartender did offer to go get it for us though. He also sent us to a wonderful Italian restaurant for dinner called Oro. The desk staff was very nice and so was the housekeeper.
My wife and I were in town only for a quick trip to see some family. The hotel is convenient to the subways and even the local bus into Manhattan. Enjoyed the Queens skyline view from high up in the hotel (most rooms face the construction site for the new LIRR tunnel into NYC). Having lived in NYC, we were not bothered by the sounds (elevated subway trains, sirens) at night but there are sound machines in the rooms if you think you need them.I suggest you eat dinner before you come back to the hotel -- as there are no restaurants close to the hotel.
Great place to stay if going to Mets games and want to spend a few days in NYC on a budget. Its not Manhattan, so you must be OK with subway travel to make this hotels location worth your while. (Not much in neighborhood) The price and value for access to and around NYC is unbeatable. The rooms are small (NY average), but very nice, new and comfy. Wed highly recommend it for NYC budget travelers!
I hesitate to rave about this hotel because it will become THE place to stay in NYC and the rates will go up and it will be difficult to book but I cannot tell a lie....it was wonderful! My son lives in Astoria so I visit often and this will be a new go to place for me. It is located close to the train and though we could hear it, overall the neighborhood is very quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel public areas and our room were spotless and well maintained. But the best part of this hotel is the LOCATION and PRICE! Manhattan hotel rates are ridiculous. The NQRME trains are within 2 blocks in either direction so 1 or 2 stops and you are in Manhattan. Astoria is NYCs best kept secret so PLEASE.....dont tell!!!
Stayed here with 2 adults and 2 teen kids to attend US open and Mets game as well as downtown Manhattan. Train stations are close. Less than 10 minute walk to Queenboro plaza to take 7 train that goes to the Open/Citi field (about 25 minutes) and about 10-15 minutes to grand central station.Breakfast was fine and hotel was clean. Staff is VERY nice and helpful. Only complaint was that the King Suite was described as separate living area from king bed but it was actually just a slightly bigger room. A little tight for 2 adults and 2 teens but OK.
The staff was friendly but unknowledgeable, and lacked empowerment. I had several issues at this hotel and think that it needs to be looked at closely by Marriott corporate. Rooms were not up to the Marriott standard and I felt as if I was at a lower class of hotel. I am a gold bonvoy member and have stayed at many Marriotts and Starwood properties and this hotel surprised me. After we checked out I looked at some of the reviews and had similar challenges with my TV. We did not have a working TV the first day but I guess they got youre off me calling and finally came up to fix it. A simple HDMI cable was not connected correctly, do if this happens to you while you are here check the cables in the back or be ready for no TV. I included some pictures of my room with outdated furniture with black sharpie covering up scratches and also some dust behind the TV. You can bet I will not be staying at this hotel ever again especially since theres plenty of other Marriott and Starwood options nearby.
We have nothing but good things to stay about our experience at the Fairfield. THe staff was very friendly and always helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was a step above the other complimentary breakfasts we usually encounter. The hotel was very convenient to several subway lines. We would definitely stay again!
The staff was friendly and accommodating. There is no restaurant on site but delivery services are avaiable and the staff was helpful in describing the choices. The bar is small but it was refrersing that I had the ioption of having a drink after a long day.Breakfast was ok. My meals are not carb heavy but I recognise that this choice is not popular so my options at breakfast was limited. Notwithstanding the offering was ok.My room had a shower only are not designed with barrier to keep the water from flowing to the rest of the bathroom, this was only discouraging aspect of my stay
Considering the city of New York where all hotel rooms are small for a visitor, Fairfield Inn & Suites Queensboro is considerably big enough for us couples. Only problem is with the shower, there is nothing like a tub or glass door so water always falls outside the toilet area. I think there should be a proper way to drain water in showers. Other than it was a great stay for our NY Trip. Very near to subway Queens plaza and only few stops to Manhattan. Breakfast is awesome and since we go to bed late and woke up after 10.00 we couldnt make it for some days, so it would be better to keep the breakfast till 10.00 am at least. Overall excellent hospitality and stay.
Although the hotel was a little hard to find, we found it very nicely appointed and extremely accessible to the subway with direct trains to Times Square. It was just a 3 or 4 minute walk to the station and 10 to 12 minutes into the city. I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesnt want to spend an outrageous amount of money to stay in the ity or even closer to the city. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and very helpful. We will stay there again on our next vist to NYC.
My family and I came in to NYC for a wedding and our plans changed last minute so we had to find a hotel for just the one night. Fairfield Inn & Suites was reasonably priced, perfect location to all the venues we were attending for the two days, clean, and tastefully decorated. Checking in and out was very easy and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Spacious room for metropolitan NYC that was clean and well-maintained. Amazingly helpful and generous staff throughout the hotel (they went so far as to loan me a personal umbrella on a very rainy day). All equipment and spaces appear to be well-maintained. Staff keeps things clean even during high access hours. There is not much in the immediate area, but you are 2 blocks from the Queens Plaza metro which will get you anywhere quickly. Do note - the bar is little more than a counter with a limited number of options (though the bartender was great) and the metro runs above ground nearby, so you will have that constant sound during your stay.
Stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Queensboro Plaza. It was ideally situated near a subway and a 10 min cab ride into the city.My room was super clean and had great views of the NYC skyline. It had all the amenities that I needed. The bed was also extremely comfortable. I had friends stopped by to visit and they commended on what a great hotel I had selected. I would totally come back here.
Staff was great, always willing to help. Fast!. Hotel was clean and rooms were clean and comfortable. Just make sure you get a room away from the elevated subway tracks. Also felt like the price was high for that type of hotel. Maybe just bad timing, I know rates jump around a lot. but overall a good hotel.
This is a great hotel at a great location - just 800 feet from the subway exit and on the E line straight to Times Square. I plan to stay here on my next visit. The rooms are excellent and theres a bar in the lobby. I do not think they serve food, but there are a few places close by.
This hotel sits perfectly for a weeks visit to the great city of New York! Clean, beyond accommodating staff service, courteous, and spacious! The staff was very engaging and helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Fairfield Queensboro Bridge for its location, service, price, and accessibility to public transportation and beyond. Safe neighborhood !!
After our flight at LaGuardia was cancelled until the following day we had two options, travel 70 miles home only to return the following morning, or find a nearby place to stay. After contacting Marriott rewards, the helpful agent found a hotel that was able to accommodate us for the night. The hotel staff at the Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Queens/Queensboro Bridge was welcoming, the bartender friendly and the room was inviting and modern. We were able to relax after our difficult evening, have a good nights sleep, a hearty breakfast, and start out on our journey rested and ready to enjoy our trip.
Clarence, the General Manager was the best, made you feel at home. The rooms are a little small but were clean & well decorated. My room was on the front side of the building so I was bothered by the elevated train noise across the street at night, other people in our party were in the rear & heard nothing. Breakfast staff a little slow as items ran out & sat a little while until refilled but overall OK. 1 block walk to subway staion is convienent
Well I guess I didn’t get the 5 star experience everyone else is raving about. The staff is super friendly and polite but it doesn’t make up for the complete failure of everything else.At check-in I was told that the Direct TV was out (another reason to not subscribe). No biggie as I guess I’ll do like the young kids and stream with the internet. But apparently almost everything else in my room didn’t work either. To start, no heat—-it wasn’t a blizzard outside but it was stil below freezing outside....and inside. The fridge didn’t work but hey, I could just leave stuff out to chill. While I was given a room away from the busy street I could still hear the trains all night and the sound machine they place in the room was broken too. It’s also a bit farther away then the other Marriott properties from the restaurants and bars so unless your strictly choosing on price or like a cold room, don’t choose this place.
This hotel is very clean and comfortable. The greatest asset, however, is the staff. Each member of the staff greeted us with a smile, a positive attitude and outstanding customer service! The front desk clerk, the concierge, the parking valet, and the cleaning staff, all worked hard to make sure our stay was wonderful. Kudos to the employees of the Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Queens/Queensboro Bridge!
Generally pleased with the recent stay but was a bit surprised when the valet seemed to have temporarily misplaced my car which caused an unexpected delay to my morning. While I am appreciative for their help in accommodating a room request for earlier in the day vs normal, I was directly across the hall from the 24/7 fitness center and the ice machine which seemed like an odd place for an individual room. That said, parking was a bit easier than expected when I decided against the valet service on my second day (weekend).
We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights when on holiday in NYC. Very impressed with choice of food at breakfast, size of room, comfort of beds and layout of bathroom. Staff were all friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay here again and also recommend this place to friends.
When you walk into this hotel, it has a little charm. The services and amenities are ok. The problem begins at night, when the trains start going by. OMG, all night long, the train you can hear rolling through your bedroom. They woke us up all night long. Finally early in the morning they stop and you think you are going to get some sleep. But then the noise begins by the hallway which rooms are close together and then you realize there is no sleep in which we had to endure for 5 days we stayed here. Its a shame, because the hotel staff are just fine. My wife and I wont be back.
It looks like they stuck a nice hotel in the middle of an industrial area with, auto repair shops, tire shops, and wrecking yards. Kind of lonely when walking from the subway (2 blocks) at night. However I am happy that I took the chance because its actually not so bad at night and the stay at the hotel was very nice. Staff friendly and constantly asking you if there is anything that they can do for you. Quiet both daytime and night. I would definitely stay here again.
I picked this place based on reviews and price, and besides the parking situation, it did not disappoint! It is very convenient to the subway to get to Manhattan. It is noisy since it is near subway cause there is above ground line there. We arrived very late and parking was full so we were told to negotiate parking at the lot at the end of the street. I was very shocked to have to do this and was afraid of being taken advantage of but it worked out ok in the end. Just know this going in, and they ask for your keys so they can move the cars around as they want. The breakfast was great, one of the best I have seen at a Fairfield. I would stay here again if I came back to New York.
I LOVED everything about this hotel. The location,(right next to the Queens Plaza station) the staff, (Tiffany and Rebecca are FANTASTIC AND SUPER FRIENDLY) that Italian sausage for breakfast( yum). Forget those over priced hotels in Manhattan. Stay here, save a boat load of $$$, catch the train over the bridge, and explore the city that way.
Its a smaller hotel, but at good location right next to Queens plaza and easy access to subways station. However due to its size, its being dwarfed by other taller buildingS nearby, and one is being built right next to it. This causes the satellite TV (direct TV) loosing signal very often. We didnt have TV signal 3 out of 5 days we were there.
As they say Location, Location, Location. The location is perfect for getting on the subway into Manhattan. The cost is about half the price versus staying in town. There are three subway stations with a few blocks walk from the property. One day we even took the walk across the Queensboro bridge, what a great view of the city walking in from Queens over the river. We stayed 7 nights here and enjoyed spending time at night in the bar/lobby area, as well a breakfast each morning before we headed out to town. The staff was very welcoming and attentive during our stay. We will definitely consider staying here again for our next trip to NYC.
The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful, but the overall condition of the property is shabby. I wouldnt stay there until it is given a thorough refresh. Also, our rooms carpet was wet when we arrived. There is no time to change rooms so we lived with it. Yuk
Every time Ive stayed at the Queensboro location, the service has exceeded my expectations. This is a incredible alternative to Manhattan, with easy access to the NQ subway line to get across the bridge. The rooms of the hotel are nice, however, the service and convenience of this hotel to Manhattan makes the difference in my ratings. If there was any issue, the management was very professional and resolved the issue as expeditiously as possible. The staff serving breakfast was polite and made sure people who came in at the last minute had everything they needed. The general manger, took personal responsibility to improving our overall experience by personally following up on issues that had occurred during one of the nights of our stay. We noticed the GM helping with other hotel operations such as serving food when the staff was busy (which I dont typically see). The teamwork and service that I experienced at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, Queensboro Bridge is unrivaled by any similar level hotels that Ive stayed in, and I would argue that theyre service is better than some of the higher end hotels.
The hotel was modern and staff were polite and friendly. We were put on the 15th floor (top floor) which was like a sauna thoughout our stay. The king bed was actually 2 singles pushed together. Both the fridge and air con were very noisy aswell as the constant train noise outside. Overall not very impressed with my stay here.Max
Staff at other Hotels should come here for lessons on how to interact with Guests. Every staff member we ran into anywhere were very friendly and approachable and took genuine interest in us no matter what else they were doing. This is not the most Glam location but we will stay there next time in NY without hesitation. Access to public transport and closeness to the city made it a great option for us.
We were looking for a nice place convenient to transportation, easy to get about comfortable with warm feeling. We found that at the Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Queens/Queensboro Bridge. Though it is very close to the subway transportation the noise is not extreme. We had great experience with food in the area. We were able to see the lights in Rockefeller Center and experience Manhattan. We found great shopping and again great eating places. The trip was great!!
Located in an odd part of town, mostly industrial, but next to major transit hub for easy access to all of NYC. Walking distance to subways, elevated trains, Astoria. Major construction going on in area so this hotel was built ahead of the new neighborhood curve. For now, it seems like an odd location but area is building up around it. They have valet parking available but I chose a local garage for less several blocks away using Spothero. Found an excellent burger bar called The Baroness about three blocks away. May have to walk a little further for other options. You can be in midtown Manhattan in 15 or 20 minutes. Building is situated facing north and south so you cannot really get a view of Manhattan. Views are interesting for urban landscapes, lots of train action. We enjoyed our stay and made an affordable way to stay multiple days in NYC. Walked up to Astoria to the Museum of the Moving Image, which was excellent. Our room heater did not work the first night but the next day they switched us to another room.
Nice place in general. Service 5 star, easy check in and check out. Room clean and in excellent order. Everything worked for me. The subway was a little close to my likings but I slept like a champ. Breakfast was good 6am till 11am cant beat that. It was at walking distance to dinning, clubbing, theaters and bars. Under 20 mins from airport LGA. Well recommended.
Our hotel stay was superb! Upon arrival, I discovered that I was the guest of the day which resulted in a room upgrade as well as complimentary snacks and spirits. One evening I ordered food and the hotel called me from downstairs to confirm I ordered food before sending them up, which was nice. Staff was friendly and attentive, and the bars half-off all drinks happy hour was a bonus. Finally, the location was convenient, just a 4 minute walk from the metro and a 15 minute metro ride into the city made our stay perfect. I will add that internet access was a little troublesome (although complimentary) as we had to go into our wi-fi advanced settings to connect.
The great thing about this hotel is the proximity to the subways and the staff. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help. The hotel is walking distance for the Queens Plaza and the Queensboro Plaza stops. While the hotel doesnt offer room service they still have a lot of nice features that makes it a great stay.
You pay for what you get. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy... decent room, front desk was accommodating. The location is close to the trains and there is a parking lot across the street that charges 18 bucks for 24 hrs (in and out). I’d stay again for 1 night nothing more.
I booked the hotel for 5 nights but checked out after the first. The walls and carpet of the room were stained and the air conditioning unit was broken and making loud noises. Breakfast was chaos with nowhere to sit; we observed a family who were forced to sit their children on the floor to eat. On top of all this, it wasnt even a cheaper rate than Im used to paying for decent hotels in Manhattan.
Very good accommodations. The rooms are a nice size. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. The hotel is very close to the subway and elevated train stain station. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast. Parking garage is also available as well as parking on the street.
We stayed there for 6 nights for our NY City trip in April 2015. The train station is 2 minute walk, very convenient for our daily commuting to NY City. Hot breakfast is a big plus for getting us start our day early The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend it to anyone.
As long as the rumble of the subway doesnt bother you, this is a great choice to have easy access to Manhattan, as well as the Queens neighborhoods. There arent any rooms on the backside of the building, but you can request a room farthest from Northern Boulevard. Dont wait until the end of the breakfast period or you wont have much selection. There is a minimal bar, but not a great selection and plastic cups only.
Very small room without a smart TV. Im a Bonvoy Gold member. The WIFI was spotty...difficult to enjoy Netflix. The elevated train runs by continuously. Loud as s*#t...the room comes with a noisemaker.Dont get an odd-side room!!There isnt an eating area in the room, just the TV/computer desk.Front desk staff was the only real positive. The breakfast was average compared to other Fairfield Inns.Coffee not so good...get tea.
The hotel is modern and clean, while the rooms are small (as to be expected at 95% of NYC area hotels) they are well decorated and the mini-fridge was a welcome sight! Every staff member we came across was friendly and certainly lived up to the hospitality standards expected of Marriott employees. Adam and Jasmine were standouts during our stay.
This was my first time staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites NY/Queens. The neighborhood is perfect if youre trying to stay away from the craziness in Manhattan. Subway stations are just a couple of blocks from the hotel. The hotel facilities were very clean, and it has courteous and professional staff. Ive already recommended the hotel to a friend visiting NY and plan on staying there when returning to the city.
This place is pretty basic considering the price you have to pay to stay. Dont expect luxury. This is a basic spot to just catch a nights rest. My only complaint though is house keeping knocked on my door and asked me when I was leaving. This was two hours before check out - which I dont believe is appropriate. My group was pretty quiet and in and out so it was surprising to see them in such a rush to kick us out. Besides that the rest of the staff was friendly. Not the best for the price we payed though.
I was really impressed with the front desk and the way she was handling check ins. She gave me late checkout at 3:30pm. I was more than surprised and satisfied. Right in front of my room was the ice machine, which was very convenient. In the hotel the only place to buy drinks are by front desk, or to go out to the nearest bodega or if you up for a bit walk, there is rite aid not far. I recommend buying whatever you want before getting to the hotel, because as much as the hotel feels safe, the neighborhood at nights not really. During the day its different. Train station is near also.
I brought a group of 100 8th graders to the hotel for a week-long field trip to NYC and the Queensboro Fairfield was fantastic! Its location, staff and rate made it the absolutely right place for us to stay. I would not hesitate to recommend it to other large groups or individuals looking for affordable and easy access to the city.Great job!

2022-05-17This hotel is no good for the Long Island city northern boulevard neighborhood and needs to be changed into something positive and constructive instead of an eyesore for innocent eyes and from the lack of proper maintenance something needs to be done…

2022-05-31This place is now transitional housing for the Exodus Re-entry program. This is so much better for ones mental wellness than a shelter.

2020-02-04My friends and I came into the city to attend the Rose Mansion!

2019-12-26Excellent Stay. Ideal for families and tourist. Convenient access to two subway stations. Customer service was top notch. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Valet parking was reasonable. Nothing negative to mention about our experience at the hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel to others visiting NYC but plan to stay just outside the Downtown core.

2019-04-08The staff was very friendly, helpful and pleasant. The room was comfortable, clean and updated. Complimentary breakfast was very good with a large area to sit. The location of the hotel is rough and not attractive at all, but I did not feel unsafe coming back from the subway at night. Subway is two blocks away in either direction, great proximity, can be in Manhattan in 10 minutes. Street parking exists but have to move your car for street cleaning every two days during the week, typical for Queens. (I did not use the hotels $35/day valet parking service). Overall, I was very comfortable here.

2019-08-01We stayed during a heat wave in New York, and it was wonderful to walk into a room where the air conditioning was working well. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. It was the perfect place to rest after a day of sight seeing in the summer. The breakfast was above average and exceeded my expectations. The fresh fruit was ripe and tasty. The hotel is close to a subway station making transportation easy.

2018-06-17Beautiful hotel! Customer service was great! We forgot a pair of shoes and when we called they had already set them aside for us. Love the decorations. Clean rooms and sheets ! Cute little couch that pulled out into a bed! Mini fridge and a nice size bathroom. They had plenty of mirrors. I really enjoyed my time here! We were in and out all day 3pm-8am with no problem . Lobby is so nice with a little cafeteria inside.
