We didn’t love this place nor did we hate this place. It is average and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable which is probably one of the highest priorities for me. We chose this because it did have a king size bed and because we have stayed at other Fairfield‘s and I’ve had a good experience with sleeping. The bathrooms are very small to me not that that’s a big deal. We just basically had to get off the road and get some rest.
The hotel was clean inside and out. Adequate parking, several car charging plugs and easy access to highway. The room was very clean, generous towels and comfortable bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful and check in was easy. Very easy access to highway and downtown Binghamton for dining out. Would definitely stay again.
In our first room, the refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, and many lights were not working. The tub was disgusting. It was not clean, and the finish was peeling off into the tub. We asked for another room. My husband had to wipe cobwebs from the wall. It was marginally cleaner that the first room. The staff did not seem overly-concerned.
Worst breakfast Ive ever experienced. I get that no kitchen is there but their bagged microwave eggs were disgusting and salty. No fresh fruit or yogurt available at 9am. Waffle mix was an unhealthy cheap brand. Only had cheerios or frosted flakes to eat. Double beds were super uncomfortable. Hotel needs to do some updating.
Positive: Very clean hotel that has a very helpful and friendly staff. Negative: I was charge for access to the internet which I was under the assumption was included with the room rate. One of the filters that I used in selecting a hotel was internet access including in the room rate. Several days later, I get notice of the charge.
Zero wow effect. High price for less than other hotels in the area. Bathroom so small you literally have to stand on the toilet or in the tub to close the door from inside the bathroom. Amenities average or below average. Staff member was nice/helpful when you could find him. Upon arrival I found a note stating I had to call the hotel to have someone come out to assist me, REALLY bad way to start off the stay. Way over priced. Part of my group stayed in another hotel, nicer rooms, better amenities and half the price. Shop around.
Location is average, numerous other brands in the area for lower prices. Staff member was nice, when I could find him.Room was clean, not above the average you would expect. Room sufficient size the bathroom was so small that the door misses the toilet by an inch & to close it from inside the bathroom you have to basically be standing on the toilet or climb in the tub. Did not use food/beverage options. This is a four floor building with a weird layout for the end rooms.
First the staff was wonderful, the room emaculate. The rest was disconcerning: kids running (yes running) barefoot through the halls, up and downstairs in and out the elevator. Screaming and having a grand ole time unsupervised. This is a hotel not a playground. Though as an adult I also about who is in the building, I worry about lawsuits, injuries plus so much more. Next getting to the building was terrible.
Hotel is located at good location, size of room is good and front staff is amazing. Giving 2 stars and the initial room they alloted was not clean and bathroom was clogged and the next day room cleaning was done , towels were not changed ...they told us that cleaning staff was not able to do all rooms...if hotel is short of staff then please dont let all rooms available or make sure basic cleaning is done on all days ....this is the minimum we expect from a brand like Marriott
This hotel costs to much for what I saw. The tub had rust and some other stains. My room was switched and the second room had a ton worth rust. The door to the bathroom was coming apart and the toilet seat was broken. This was far below the standards I expect from marriott and the price I paid. I want a full refund.
Rooms clean and very nice... was a bit of noise from whoever was above us, but settled down well before bedtime. Would definitely use this hotel again.. Perfectly located between two excellent restaurants and within walking distance to movie theatre and convenience store and SUNY Broome...
Very disappointed in this location, front desk staff was rude, no hot water and the elevator was broken. Lots of fun hauling luggage up 4 flights of stairs and then taking a COLD shower. I was told by the front desk employee that I needed to understand that the employees were going through this hardship as well and that she didn’t appreciate me calling to complain. I called the front desk an additional two times to have the managers reach out to me and no one ever called me back
Upon arrival I noticed the toilet seat was soiled. I took it upon myself to clean it since there was a skeleton crew. Hotel was old and dated. The following morning. I attempted to take a shower with boiling hot water and the same coming from the sink. I notified the front desk upon my departure and they said they would look into it. This will not be my go to hotel in the Binghamton area.
Positive: Clean rooms Negative: They offer a hot breakfast, at 7am no eggs, w-3 of bacon and sausages. No milk for the cereal. So basically no breakfast. The front desk person said they had no food left for 2 days when the truck arrived. Someone needed to go to the store, just saying.
I was traveling for work came here to get a good nights sleep in the shower there was no hot water I was told it would take 45 minutes to fix after two hours I still did not have hot water I know things break and I understand that but it would have been nice to been notified at check-in that there was a problem that way I could’ve booked a hotel room somewhere else what irritates me I’m paying full price for a room with half the amenities
Nice clean room and well furnished, breakfast staff is friendly. For some reason, I constantly heard doors being shut or slammed but that may be dependent on guest behavior or location of room (if near exit). Management should mitigate this issue or create courtesy quiet hours onsite.
We were supposed to check-in at 3 pm and came at 8 pm but were told that there was no clean rooms and that the cleaning ladies never showed up to clean. It’s very unprofessional that we were turned away when we had reserved this room for weeks in advance. This has never happened to me before and it is appalling that they would not give any warning or even an email before we came after hours of driving.
We picked the Fairfield in Binghamton because it was drivable in a single charge. The hotel had several charging stations, we plugged in once we got there and the car was fully charged by morning. All hotels should consider charging stations. It worked out great for us, we finished the drive in the morning.
Nice stay in older hotel. Bathroom very small, door barely misses toilet when closing, however, manageable. Full tub with shower head. Comfy bedding and clean overall. A/C blows across the room bouncing off wall next to the bed creating a little more coolness than needed. Corrected by pulling chair in front of unit to block directness of air - perfect solution - Room remained nice temperature for sleeping comfort. Did not eat from breakfast bar but looked nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
Figured I would try this place out since I visit the area frequently. Upon arrival I noticed the toilet seat was soiled. I took it upon myself to clean it since it was a skeleton crew. The following morning I took a shower with boiling hot water and the same from the sink.I notified front desk during check out got a “thanks we will check on it “This is one location I will not be staying at in the future.
This hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly. Rooms are stylish and beds are very comfortable! I do wish they had USB ports in the rooms so AC wall chargers don’t need to be used for charging phones. The breakfast was nice but not great. Some Marriotts don’t have one so I’m glad it was included to grab something quick. It was also a nice touch by the hotel to give out gift bags to the family members of the graduates of that weekend. Overall very good experience. I would stay here again.
Ive stayed in thousands of hotels but I wouldnt recommend this hotel. The GM kicked my family and I out do to their assumptions of our check out date. We checked in on Monday and were never asked about a check out date. Apparently they assumed we were checking out the next day. We had planned to stay until Thursday morning. The GM said they had called us on Wednesday, 3x, to confirm a checkout date in which I didnt receive one missed call, nor do I have any voicemail from them. I get a call today letting us know they had gathered all our belongings, packed them up, and that we would have no room to stay in tonight bc the hotel was full on a Wednesday. Called corporate and while they were friendly, they ultimately did nothing as well. I will never set foot in another Marriott owned hotel.
We had excellant service from the first phone call. I asked for top floor adjoining rooms away from the elevator and that is what they gave us. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good, coffee hot. Staff we very pleasant and attentive. I will stay here again when in town. Great overall location to highway and restaurants and gas...
Enjoyable overnight stay. Front desk staff was extremely nice. Even called the room 15 mins after arriving to make sure everything was ok. Extra towels in bathroom as rqd when I made reservation. Sweet note left in room from housekeeping. Cracker Barrel land Applebee’s right next door. Movies within walking distance too. Would definitely stay there again.
I was traveling with my husband for a special occasion. I found the hotel to be fairly clean and well-kept. The front desk staff at night was not very professional, and chastised me for the way I booked the room, indicating that I should not expect to have the points on my rewards card. The room was fairly clean, but it had a weird glue smell - in all fairness I didnt report it -- just didnt feel like dealing with that clerk again. The bed was not super comfortable, but was ok -- just seemed old or cheap. I really do expect better than that from Marriott. The shower was AWESOME.
The front desk staff was VERY welcoming and informative. I interacted with 3 different employees during my stay, and each was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. I didnt utilize most of the hotels amenities such as the pool, but the lobby and grounds were very well-kept. My room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure. The TV had a great cable channel selection and also internet options such as YouTube and NetFlix to view on the TV using your personal account. The hotel is next door to an Applebees and a CrackerBarrel, with other restaurants and services nearby.
We stayed 3 different weeks in August. Each time the hotel was clean, welcoming, and busy. The service was excellent, wechecked in early enough to have our choice of rooms,, and the night of our 11 p.m. checkin, with only 3 rooms left, they gave me the room I requested the week before. The breakfast buffet was hot and varied each time. The pool was clean, just a little cool. My husband always works out, and the equipment was clean.
Both times I have been there the staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make sure everything is satisfactory. The hotel is always immaculately clean and they have a great selection for breakfast. We also enjoyed the little things like the voting on the staff pumpkin contest and the decorations in the lobby. You can tell the second you walk in that this is a very well run hotel. It is my top choice to stay when I am in the area.
Room was very clean and had nice amenities as far as TV and internet go. Pool policies were a little confusing, so if youre planning on swimming, make sure you ask because you have to sign in and out of the pool. Bathroom was extremely small, but was clean despite no exhaust fan to draw out moist air. Also within walking distance of two large chain restaurants who are both open for dine in during COVID-19 social distancing.
I made this reservation in March 2017 for a August 20 stay for college move in and booked a king room and requested a rollaway (didnt know it wasnt guaranteed) noting there were 3 adults in the room. I did a mobile check in during our 500 mile drive and was quite happy that I did because when we checked in the line was very long and people were complaining. I just grabbed our room key and we went to our room to find no rollaway bed. Called downstairs and they said they were all gone (later learned there were only 4 for the entire hotel) and couldnt offer us an alternative. So 3 adults had to share a king size bed. Good thing we are a loving family! The hotel itself is very nice. The breakfast is the typical hotel included breakfast. Staff was nice but felt they could have offered us something for not having the rollaway. I realize it is probably one of the busiest days of the year for them (a hotel in a small college town) on move in day. The toilets also flush extremely loud and can be heard from other rooms.
My (now) husband and I utilized the hotel as a room block for our wedding this past weekend. We specifically selected the hotel based on past experiences and the ease and convince we THOUGHT it would provide our out of town guests. However, during the planning process, management switched hands. The change was extremely unfortunate for us and our guests. We experienced several problems, including multiple guests calling to reserve a room from our room block and being told from the employee(s) at the hotel that they knew nothing about mine and my husbands room block, wedding favor bags not being handed out even after we labeled them as instructed by the hotel, and my now husband not being let into his room which we were told he could enter an hour before he was let in, a guest arriving to find her room had been canceled without proper notice. Had we known what we know now, we never would have used the hotel for our special day. The Fairfield Inn truly ruined what could have been an amazing experience for us. As newlyweds, we feel robbed of the experience and will never provide business for the hotel again. Additionally, we hope that someone speaks to the current management about how to speak to a new bride without raising his voice or degrading her husband two days after their wedding. (Talk about ruining the feeling of wedded bliss! Uncalled for and rude.) We truly feel like the experience falls nothing short of a horror story. From this moment on, I will warn all brides to be of the lack of professionalism, respect, and sheer ability to speak to women from current management. For everyones sake, we hope changes are made.
The mattresses I experienced at this hotel were well beyond the point of replacement. The two beds in my room were both in poor condition, one worse that the other. The night staff at the hotel did offer to move me to another room. When the manager and I inspected the new room, the quality of those beds were not much better. The hotel would provide the other room but I would first have to vacate the first room which by this point in the evening (near 11:00 PM) I did not wish the hassle of changing rooms for only marginally better beds. Sleeping was a painful exercise during this one night stay.
We stayed in a handicap room, and were surprised at how pleasant and bright it was. Comfortable sofa as well as large, comfortable bed. Large tv with very clear reception and many channels. Family restaurants on both sides of the facility, easy to reach. Close to interstate for resuming travel. Conveniently had handicap parking spaces close to access to room. We had made reservation far in advance, arrived a little late in the evening, and the room had been held for us with no problems. Staff was friendly.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this location. We did have some miscommunication with the reservation office when we booked the room immediately prior to check in and the room style that we were booked into and which was confirmed to us over the phone was not available at this location. This front desk staff was able to accommodate our needs for a third bed, saving the day (or night). The breakfast was excellent. The lobby was clean and public areas very modern and well-maintained. The grounds of the hotel were exceptionally clean and parking was very close to the building. The property is adjacent to a Cracker Barrel restaurant as well as several other local eateries, making it a convenient location to access off of the highway, which was very close to evening dining options. The nearby mall, which was within a blocks walking distance of the hotel, had a movie theater, had we wished to see a movie for some evening entertainment. Overall, it was a good nights stay at an affordable price.
We spent 2 nights at the Fairfield Inn Binghamton. It was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We loved the location. It was easy to get to from the highway. Having the Cracker Barrel and Applebee’s next door was a huge plus. Applebee’s even offered a discount for hotel guests. The complementary breakfast offered some good choices, and the food was fresh and hot. We had an accessible room with one king bed, and there was plenty of room for my husband to maneuver in his wheelchair. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay, and we would definitely stay here again.
I booked my room, but the night of my stay I received word from home that there was an emergency that I needed to return for. Needing to cancel my reservation, the staff I spoke to was non compromising or apologetic charging me full price for the room even though I could not stay. I understand this when the hotel is full and people back out, but there was no one there that night (COVID-19) They just took advantage of their “policy”.
A family of four had to stay in the smallest room that I’ve ever been in ! It was impossible to help my small children with their bathroom needs . I couldn’t fit in the bathroom since it was so tiny . Paying for a whole week and their prices wasn’t worth it . I was highly dissatisfied. Then leaving I seen the box spring had stains all over it . Will not ever be going back !
This is a beautiful hotel. Its in a nice part of town and conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. Niki at the front desk was amazing. They have a very nice indoor pool, hot tub and exercise room. The hotel room was spacious, clean and the bed was so comfortable. I always love a quiet, relaxing hotel, and this hotel delivers that. Breakfast the next morning was excellent. Its a continental breakfast with some hot items like eggs and sausage. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the greater Binghamton area!
The room had an old feeling about it. The decor looked new, but the room just felt worn. The bathroom was insanely small and there was hair in the bathtub, which just does me in. When I called to make sure that we had an early check in, the woman was rude and wholly unaccommodating. When we checked in, two young women were goofing around in the back and we had to call out twice to get attention. They then came out acting silly for too long, which would have been okay, I guess, had we not needed to get changed for a wedding without much time to spare. The breakfast wasnt bad and it was one of the few times the eggs were edible. The fruit salad, which wed looked forward to might have been delicious two days earlier. It was nasty. I also thought it was cheap that they didnt have real milk and milk alternatives for coffee. They only had those nasty creamers. The breakfast staff was really pleasant, though.Overall, Id say the stay was irritating more than anything.
We have stayed at this location numerous times, and it never disappoints! We travel from South Carolina to visit family in the Binghamton area. As a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens), we are always provided with great rooms, fabulous breakfast, nice pool, and above all - incredible customer service!! The hotel is conveniently located close to the airport, the highway, good restaurants, and shopping. The staff goes out of their way to provide a comfortable stay. They truly exceed all expectations. Cant wait for our next visit!
They are super sweet and considerate. I checked in at 11am because they were ready that early! There is an okay exercise room, the basics, nothing fancy. There is a decent sized pool that is cold enough to be a pool but warm enough that you want to go in it. The hot tub is nice and warm. The pool/hot tub area are in a room that has three large windows, it is truly gorgeous. The bathrooms are crowded, when the door opens it nearly touches the toilet, but it is worth it because with the door shut it is still easy to use, and is fully functional. 24 hour coffee and tea. Its a Marriott I will definitely go back to!
My mom fell ill and ended up passing away. I needed flexibility with the hotel staff in having rooms for my family members as they came into town at various times for various stay durations. Joe, Bobby & Nicki were absolutely AWESOME in working with me to have the rooms all on the same floor and ready for them as they arrived into town. They also treated my family with exceptional customer service skills and I couldnt have been any more pleased with them. The lady in charge of the breakfast area was also tremendous!! She not only had the food ready at all times, but greeted everyone with a smile & the sweetest Good Morning youll ever hear. Not knowing what we were going through, this morning greeting made us all smile each & every day. I cant wait to return and see them all again as I go back to visit my dad.
We were driving in a heavy downpour when we pulled off the road and chanced upon this hotel. the receptionist was amazing, helpful, the hotel was warm, dry and brightly lit. she provided us with rags to dry off our bikes.the rooms were comfortable.the breakfast was warm--we had eggs and mini waffles with powdered sugar.i would definitely stay there again!
I had the opportunity to stay at this Fairfield during the flooding in the area. The hotel was clean and accessible from the highway. The individual staff members were the ones to make this stay special. All were very helpful and made sure everything was taken care of. Check in was quick. The room was clean. Breakfast was warm nd friendly. Thank you everyone
I was traveling through Binghamton and stayed one night at this hotel. The hotel had a friendly staff and was very clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. We walked next door to eat dinner late at Cracker Barrel, which was very convenient. We didnt need to go there for breakfast because the hotel had sausage, eggs, bagels, cereal, and many other nice breakfast items. Though we didnt use the fitness room, I did look in and it was nice. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This stay was nothing short of amazing. It was hospitality at its best! We stayed here on our way to buffalo. The desk manager at night was very nice even though we didn’t check in till 10:30pm. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. Nikki the manager treated us at breakfast. She was so pleasant and made us feel welcome. She even acknowledged my children and talked to them. Then we went upstairs and ghe kids got changed to go in the pool. When we got downstairs they had temporarily closed it. We started to walk back upstairs. Nikki saw us and said let me check if we can open the pool. I said it is not a big deal and her reply was that it was a big deal to them. She said let me see what I can do. She had them reopen the pool for us. I just thought she had gone above and beyond. When we left, she gave my sons both chips for the long car ride. We also had a few encounters with Kathy, another employee with you. My 9 yr old son actually thought she was so nice and personable that he remembered her name also. I was so happy we booked this hotel for our trip home from buffalo. To many those are not big things but to me the little things are the big things.
Any time we stay anywhere but Marriott for even one night, my wife is unhappy. We were just here for an overnight stay to attend a birthday party 4 hours from home and although we didnt require a suite or anything remotely fancy, it was nice to know that the room was thoughtfully laid out with a large enough space for my wife and I to get ready and not be cramped. The is bedding is always a good quality and comfortable and provides a good nights rest. The modest of the Marriott line always surpasses the competition.
Having stayed at this hotel many times and other Fairfields a lot, its what I would expect. Not a bad place and not a JW Marriott downtown hotel. It was mostly clean (found some hair on the bathroom floor and in the tub). The staff are friendly. The breakfast is acceptable, but starting at 7:00 AM does not work for a lot of the people they were there for a sporting event that most had to be at at 7.
I arrived at 12:30pm for a 3pm check-in time, and did not expect the hotel to be able to accommodate me so early. I had used mobile check-in on my phone which enabled the hotel to be able to expect my early arrival. The associate that handled my check-in was the FRIENDLIEST person Ive ever worked with and I was pleasantly surprised that my keys and room were ready for me upon arrival. The ease of the check in process and the friendliness of the staff really set the tone for a great stay!
We came up to celebrate my daughters graduation from Binghamton University. The hotel was a few extra miles away than I am used to when I stay in town, but this really worked out fine (no issues with parking, only a few extra minutes of a drive, no traffic/congestion).We were greeted enthusiastically. Loved how the lobby was decorated in a graduation theme. Really felt warm and welcoming. And everything else was lovely as well. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Appreciated the fitness center (though small, but I really didnt need much) and the breakfast. Overall, very nice experience. Id recommend to parents visiting their Binghamton students!(My only complaint: graduation weekend pricing, but we see that everywhere.)
My husband and I spent the night here to break up our trip to Long Island. We were very pleased with every aspect of the hotel. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet was very nice with a lot of options. The whole experience was nice and totally stress-free.
Stayed in this hotel last night and had a great experience. The room was modern, clean and affordable. The staff was so nice and friendly. They even give you a bag with complimentary water bottles and a snack when you check in and out. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.
The Inn is right off route 81 which was very convenient. The Inn was Attractive and very clean. The help was very supportive and gracious. Our room met our needs and was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was good. Would have liked the sussage patty to have been cooked a little more as it was not inviting. All in all, we had an excellent night stay and would highly recommend this Inn to all.
Absolutely the worse hotel experience I have ever had. Booked a block of rooms for a wedding about 8 months prior to the wedding. Had guests trying to book rooms and were told they know nothing about our room block. Then was told to call and talk to Marcus to add rooms even though they were totally sold out. Had issues and wasnt able to check in for over an hour (this is the only time the staff seemed to do anything even remotely close to good, this was out of their control). When we arrived the night of our wedding with someone in a wedding party they were told their room had been canceled and to go to a different hotel. The manager then called my wife the morning after the mess and told her it wasnt his fault her husband cant read a contract. Which I agree I didnt read, and didnt get a copy of. But when we called to set up the room block we were told very clearly more rooms would be added to our block if they sold out the ones we had. This didnt happen. And Marcus insists it doesnt matter because he is the new manager it doesnt honor what old magement told us.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel is up-to-date and clean. The room was comfortable, the internet was free, a computer and printer in the lobby was a plus and the breakfast was very good. We will definitely use this hotel again when we need to stay in the area again. Its in a good location right off the highway and theres plenty of places to eat nearby.
We stayed here one night on our way to see April the giraffe and Taj . We needed a smoke free and Pet free hotel and it was! They had an indoor pool and a great hot breakfast. The staff was nice and very helpful. The room was big and the bed and pillows were great! the inter net worked great! We had a great stay!
We have family in the area and each time we come to visit we stay at this hotel because we know that it will be a comfortable, relaxing stay. Clean, showers are good, friendly service. There are a few chain restaurants within walking distance (Cracker Barrel) to catch a quick bite to easy. Breakfast at the hotel is hit and cold, serve yourself. You always feel like they are happy to have you stay with them.
Great accommodations as usual. Most of the times when I have overnight stays during travel, I choose the Marriott line. As always, the courteous staff, clean rooms, convenient location made the stay enjoyable. The selection of items with the free breakfast was great as normal...waffles, oatmeal, cereals, toast/bagels, eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, and much more. Looking forward to the next stay.
The hotel is in between 86 and another very busy road. Theres nothing around it to eat at. The property itself would only be regarded as fair condition. Front Desk staff are underwhelming. It you need to stop as your traveling through its fair, otherwise bypass the property.
Hotel is across the road from SUNY Broome, very close to I-81. Clean and comfortable, with friendly and helpful staff. Not cheap, but fair, and worth the money for a decent night’s sleep. Applebee’s and Cracker Barrel next door, plus other places deliver. Ask the front desk. Good breakfast, free wi-fi, they have an indoor pool which we didn’t use, as well as an exercise room. We were pleased with our stay.
Nicest hotel on our trip. The staff was perfect and very helpful. the cleaning staff was so nice with smiles and info. The pool and hot tub were first class like in a mountain ski resort. The location, beds and clean spotless rooms would make anyone happy. Ill be back.
Cannot say enough about the amazing stay I’ve just had at Fairfield Inn Binghampton! They have hit the target on both customer experience and service! They were beyond amazing with my daughter’s food allergies from ensuring her safety at breakfast to making her feel included with a small welcome bag of safe snacks. It was so appreciated! They were so warm and genuinely thoughtful! Everything was beautifully decorated for holidays and was spotless. I really can’t say enough wonderful things! Please commend Nikki, Tabitha, Bobby and the rest of the team!
We visited the Fairfield Inn Binghamton in December. The lobby was well decorated for Christmas. My children walked in and instantly smiled. The whole atmosphere was just wonderful for that time of year. The kids loved that there were cookies out every day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, some of the best I have encountered. Our family lives in the area and we will absolutely be going back to this hotel in the future.
The front desk staff at this hotel are fantastic! We had a great time while staying in Binghamton on business/leisure and ended up staying an extra night so we wouldnt have to drive home while tired. No problem extending our reservation! Staff actually remembered us from the last time we were there 6 months ago!! Really made us feel like family!!
We stayed at the Fairfield while going to Canada (falls). It was better than expected. Kids loved the pool. Elevator was responsive unlike most other hotels. Staff was perfect, got us right in and right out. We stayed in this hotel twice, also on the way back from Canada and the experience was the same. Would stay there any time we go up north without question. Applebees is around 100 feet away from front door!
Fairfield Inn Marriott in Binghamton, NJ is 5 minutes off of Hwy 81. Quick and easy to get to! Check in/out was fast. There are 2 restaurants right next door to the hotel. And, if you show your room key to Applebys which is right next door to the hotel youll get 10% off your check. Pretty great! The room was big & spacious. Very quiet. Comfy king size bed and pillows. Parking lot was safe and secure. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Free breakfast; waffles, yogurts, fresh fruit, coffee & teas, omelets, breakfast meats, and lots of choices in breads, too. I highly recommend this hotel!
The stay was mostly unremarkable, except that there was a floodlight shining onto my window until 1 am and there was no easy way to call down to the front desk to complain or set an alarm call. When I went to shower in the morning, I found a noticeable brown stain in the floor of the tub. As there wasn’t a front desk button on the phone and dialling 0 directed me to Fairfield Inn’s national calling tree, it was hard for me to report it at the moment. I was rushed for time and ended up using the complimentary breakfast, which was largely flavourless. It kept me going from 07:00 until 12:00, but otherwise it wouldn’t be something I’d look forward to. The biggest thing that I’d like to see improved with this hotel would be a better way for guests to reach out to hotel staff from their guest rooms, like at all other Marriott properties that I’ve stayed at. It was annoying but manageable for just a one night stay.
This was my first stay at the Binghamton Fairfield Inn, but it wont be the last. From the moment I checked in the staff was extremely courteous and helpful, even offering assistance when I didnt ask for it (such as letting me know there was a 10% off discount at the Applebees restaurant next door by showing my room key.) The room was super clean (especially the bathroom) and efficiently laid out. Plenty of electrical outlets for my many electronic devices Very comfortable bed, and good TV service with a wide variety of channels. I was very, very pleased with my stay.
I enjoyed my stay. However, I booked the points and cash and I was charged three separate transactions for Fairfield Inn. Also, I stayed at different marriots since I travel and this particular hotel had the smallest bathrooms ever. The bathroom was so tight that when I would open the door it would miss touching the toilet by an inch. The sink was about 5 inches from the toilet. The other side of the toilet was practically touching the shower curtain. The bathroom was extremely claustrophobic that I didnt even shower there.
If you are looking for value and a great place to stay in comfort, the Marriott and its various branches are for you. The Fairfield Inn is a great alternative if you cant stay or find a Marriott hotel. The whole experience is one you will enjoy and return again and again. The Hotel chain is our personal favorite and this goes back many years. We have consistently found this to be a wonderful experience. We especially Love the beds provided which have exceeding great comfort and the food is always of an excellent quality. The chain offers very good value and the opportunity to enjoy being away from home when you must. The Binghamton Fairfield was a very nice hotel and we even enjoyed a 10% discount to the neighboring Applebees since there is no actual dining room at the hotel. It was a good value as we used the Northeast travelers coupon book. The breakfast was far superior to most hotels which include this in the price of the stay. This was excellent. The only reason for the rating o average was although the breakfast was fantastic this is only meal provided and the nearby eateries are just OK. So I suppose it should not be a reflection of the Farifield but it is part of the dining experience- which does not exist
Stayed for a quick night as a mid-point for a late night drive between NY and Toronto. Even though for a quick stay, everyone is very nice and pleasant to converse with. Breakfast was good, but too bad didnt get to use the pool. A good amount of shops and restaurants around as well. Overall, its a nice hotel with nice people.
Small but nice pool with ample seating to watch. Typical but tasty breakfast...love the simple cheese omletes. Staff did a great job of keeping items stocked throughout the morning. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Softball tourney was delayed hours due to rain and we needed a central location to hang/eat lunch. He was very accommodating and let us set up camp in the breakfast area for a few hours. So, for those reasons I would recommend this hotel. However, with that being said, our room was sub-par. It had a broken toilet seat and smelled badly like mildew. Smelled like a forgotten load of laundry in the washer. I originally went down and talked to the front desk attendant, who simply told me there were no rooms to move to and no rooms the following night either. I asked if she could at least send someone up, and about 5 minutes later, the same manager who helped us the next morning came to our room. He sprayed some industrial room freshener, and it did help for the night. He did say we could move rooms in the morning, but I didnt want to make someone else deal with the stink, if the hotel was indeed full like I was told, so we just stayed in that room a second night. So, overall a good stay but definitely could have been better.
This hotel deserves all the stars. The woman that helped us with check in, Kristen I believe was unbelievably sweet. Modern, updated decor throughout the hotel and very clean common areas and rooms.Of all the hotels Ive stayed at this one wins for best designed in-room workspace, complete with a truly comfortable office chair - bi level desk, with easy to access outlets up top and an work lamp. The beds were comfortable, and the shower fantastic - steamed up immediately. The breakfast included plain sugar free yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, pastries, and hot items (eggs, ham etc), nicely presented and fresh. The coffee was fresh and tasty and they had a good tea selection along with cookies throughout the day.My best stay in Binghamton to date and I highly recommend it when visiting the area.
I had booked a room down the road for my 11 year old daughters birthday sleepover, but we ran into some problems. When we came here, Bobby immediately got us in at a reduced rate and even got us a corner room with a little more space. Once we got settled, he came and found us at the pool to make sure everything was to our liking. The complimentary breakfast was expansive and had more than anyone could want or need.
My family stayed at this location for one night. The hotel was conveniently located close to Binghamton University where our son is attending. Nice, clean hotel and very friendly staff. The pool area was clean with plenty of towels available. Overall a great experience. Well definitely be back when visiting our son.
I used the check in app that was sent to me the day before my check in by email. I wanted a 12 noon check in. There was no indication that this would be a problem. I arrived at 2:30 pm (late because of the weather). The front desk staff member asked me to wait and ran up to the room to check if it was ready. She came back and said it would take 1/2 hour to finish. I sat down and the next person checked in. She again ran upstairs and came back to give that person their room. When that guest went up the elevator I asked why I didnt get his room as I was there before him. The front desk clerk said I was slotted to a room in the morning. My assigned room wasnt ready. Room assignments are not done first come, first serve. I also asked why I wasnt notified by the e-app that my room was not ready at 12 (or at any time). I was told they dont have that ability.I left the hotel and returned about an hour later. Again I waited as the front desk clerk ran upstairs check if the room was ready. When she returned I was informed my room was ready. She then said, we have you for one room for 5 days. I said that was wrong as I was there for one night only. After some computer work, I was given a key and the rest of my stay was fine.I feel that the use of the e-app delayed getting a room. Had I known the room was not ready, I would not have come directly to the hotel and arranged my day differently.
Overall my stay at this hotel was pleasant. However, we ran into issues when the sink in our bathroom was not draining. After playing phonetag and getting no response for half an hour we were eventually comped an additional room which had a working sink. Otherwise the service and amenities were great; however, the poor service and rudeness from one employee with regards to the sink sullied the overall experience.
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times because I have family in the area. Usually it’s pretty good. There were a few missteps this time, in the areas of housekeeping and billing. The sole purpose of my stay (like the previous 3 stays) was to care for a relative. This fact even appeared on the bill, so..............I was gone from the hotel from 10am to 10pm all 4 days. My room was not touched by housekeeping on day 3 - coincidentally the same day sheets were to be changed - and I returned to the room in exactly the same state I had left it that morning - bed unmade, trash cans not emptied, wet towels on the bathroom floor, ice melted in ice bucket. I went to the lobby and asked why this might have happened. No real explanation of any kind, lots of probably sincere apologies from the night manager, but ...... no housekeeping offered except new towels. The next day it was cleaned and there were bags of chips, water etc left for me along with a handwritten note of apology from “Housekeeping”. Still no explanation. I generally used the side entrance near Crackerbarrel and those stairs and from the time I arrived until the time I left, it did not appear that that carpeted stairwell had been vacuumed even once. I didn’t mention this at the time because I was just exhausted, but it was noticeable. On the last night the AC stopped working and it was HOT because the rooms have no ventilation and the windows don’t open. I didn’t bother calling the front desk at 11pm because there’s no one available to really DO anything after 5pm or so and I was not in the mood to change rooms on my final night. When I booked the room (on the phone directly with the front desk), I was encouraged to enroll in Marriott Rewards and offered a certain rate. When I got home after a 6 hour drive and looked at the bill, I had been charged a higher rate and had to call the hotel to get it corrected. If I had not checked, hmm. Is this my Marriott “reward”? On the plus side, the hotel staff was very friendly but they do not seem to have any kind of after hours help that would allow them to correct things in the moment.Sent from my iPad
As we were just needing a place to stay while traveling upstate, I was pleasantly surprised with the exceptional customer service and amenities offered by the Fairfield Inn Binghamton. Excellent customer service. A loaded breakfast bar. And a decent work out facility, to boot. Plus the climate control in the room itself was top notch.
So grateful to Marcus the GM and his staff. We had to stay for a family member who was sick and ended up passing away so we had to extend our stay and Marcus went above and beyond including sympathy cards and a few things from the staff. Peggy our attendant left a very nice quote which hit us this week with the circumstances. This is our hotel of choice abd we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the outstanding hospitality during this difficult time during the Covid.
We traveled to Binghamton for our cousins wedding and were staying with attendees of another wedding as well. Our families were accommodated to all be on the same floor and the staff was extremely kind and asking questions about our events! Unfortunately, breakfast was over at 10 sharp! We were chatting with family when we got up and when food items ran out, you were out of luck. A college soccer team arrived and 20 girls got to the food counter before we could and at 9:45 we were told that breakfast ends at 10 and we could have whatever was left. That was the only negative part of the whole weekend. Knowing people were in the breakfast nook, we could easily have been given a little more cereal or the lock on the yogurt fridge could have been left open for another 15 minutes.
I recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn Binghamton and enjoyed a great 2 night stay. This hotel is bright and clean, great location right off the highway. My room was ready at check-in, housekeeping was efficient and the room was well appointed. I enjoyed the free breakfast, which was hot and fresh.
We are the NY Comedy Connection and we represent comedian Mike Bova. Whenever Mike is in the Binghamton area, he stays here. Its conveniently located with LOTS of restaurants nearby. The beds are comfortable, the hotel is quiet, it has a nice indoor pool, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast is excellent. Its a great place to get some R&R! We all highly recommend this hotel!
From contacting the company to set up a reservation,to checking in,to having breakfast the next morning, there were no negatives, all went very well. the reason we selected the hotel was directly related to the excellent reception during our last stay at the same hotel.as we were motoring,we made a slight detour during the trip stay at the hotel rather than one that was more convenient. Thank you for your hospitality
This is our favorite hotel in the area and our favorite Fairfield Inn period. Check in via the app doesnt let you select a room but other than that the process was excellent. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. All room include a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker which are always appreciated. The extra cot we requested was in our room upon arrival. The kids love the pool area and made use of it the evening we arrived and the next morning before we departed. Hot breakfast was excellent (eggs, Canadian bacon, sausage, make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc.).
I only stayed one night in your hotel, but it was a very pleasant experience. From the minute I set foot in the lobby, I felt welcomed by your front desk staff. The room was immaculate and well-appointed. The proximity to other businesses was a definite plus. I will definitely be using your facility in the future.

This is the 2nd stay for me. I love everything about this hotel. It’s comfortable, clean, and close to many good restaurants and convenience stores. Easily accessible from the highway and a perfect hotel for families staying for their college aged children attending Binghamton college. I really enjoyed the continental breakfast.
As a woman usually traveling alone & staying at this particular Fairfield Inn, I feel safe and comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the hotel & rooms are exceptionally clean. The complimentary breakfast is always fresh with many options available. The Fairfield will be my first choice when traveling to the Binghamton area.
Started our vacation with a trip to Animal Adventure park and had a great time, it was a hot day and we were looking forward to using the pool at the hotel afterwards. Nope, pool was closed. We had booked online and had no way of knowing. We chose your hotel for the indoor pool and were very disappointed.
The staff keeps this hotel extremely beautiful and the landscaping is immaculate! The rooms are clean and its in a safe area around many food and businesses within walking distance. Will recommend to anyone who comes to stay in Binghamton. Also, the prices are fair, a nice addition to my stay.
Touring comedian Mike Bova stayed here again while on the road in-between gigs and had a really great stay! The property was very close to a botanic garden which was very relaxing to walk around while the weather was still good. There was a convenience store and laundry room as well which made it easy to just stay in and enjoy the nice room and get caught up before hitting the road again. The free breakfast in the morning was icing on the cake! Thank you for taking such great care of our client and we look forward to booking with you again! #ignitehospitalityservices #travelignite
The hotel has a great location right off the highway. There is a Cracker Barrel and Applebees in the parking lot.The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff friendly. The only issue is they stop their breakfast at 9 am. Which when travelling with a family can be an issue.
Nice hotel, clean, no order, small gym (a couple work out machines and weights), small pool. Right between cracker barrel and apple bees (apples gives a discount if you stay here), and across the community college. Delicious breakfast with variety and very friendly helpful staff.
Came here and prepaid my room weeks in advance and requested a room with 2 double beds since I would have 2 other people with me, so it would actually be nice to get a good nights sleep. When I arrived and received my key to go to my prepaid room, what do I see??? 1 king sized bed! I went back down to the receptionist and asked why I was given this room when I had already prepaid for a room that was suppose to have 2 twin/double beds. The 1st excuse from the receptionist was we used a secondary website such as Expedia... which I told her that we didnt. She was adamant that no matter what the case was, we just reserved a room in general, not guaranteed a double bedroom that we already paid in full. I mentioned if there was even a price difference in which they confirmed that every room is the same price. I forgot to mention that there was a cleaning lady behind the help desk also that was chiming in on the situation besides the receptionist. They said the couch inside the 1 King bed room was a pull out mattress so it was practically the same. Great customer service (SARCASM)..... So we ended up with something that we didnt want, which we paid in full in advance to avoid. Thanks for the snarkiness.
My wife and I have gotten to the point where we no longer wish to find the cheapest place to stay but the best place to stay for our money. The Fairfield Inn Binghamton fit this view perfectly. The King Room was well furnished with a good working area, free high speed internet, couch with tables, refrigerator, large TV with good cable service, very comfortable bed and a clean, well maintained bathroom. The location on Front Street has easy access to lots of dining places and to downtown Binghamton to the hockey arena (the reason for our visit). As an owner of a plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV), free use of a charging station was one of the reasons I choose to stay here. There are also two Tesla chargers. I hope they add more in the future as electric vehicles become more popular.
The Fairfield by Marriott, Binghamton, NY was a refreshing (4 day) business trip experience! As a Government employee, I appreciate the amazing welcome and Good Morning from the staffeach day! The entire experience was Excellent and made my stay in Binghamton both relaxing anda good place to lay my head down and rest, while away from home!
On our way to Niagra Falls, we pulled off the highway and had several choices for short hotel stays. We lucked out! No complaints at all about the Fairfield Inn Binghamton. The place was clean, comfortable, and the staff was great! (not that we needed them!) Breakfast - A-1, Husband loved the sausage, bacon, eggs, etc.... and healthy me loved the yogurt and fresh fruit!
Ive stayed in motels in and around Binghamton University while my daughter was a student there. This motel, was by far the best. The rooms were spotless, the staff courteous and helpful and the check-in and check-out processes were seamless and efficient. I highly recommend the Fairfield Inn to all. (Ive always have very comfortable stays at Marriott hotels and motels.)
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years and have always experienced a excellent level of service! Kevin the manager and his staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and make sure that you are totally satisfied during your stay. I travel quite a bit and stay at hotels a minimum of 150 night (but usually a lot more) and this hotel is one of my favorites! It is a great value for your the money too!
Overall a really clean place. Its also decently quite considering its right next to a freeway. It might not be a good place for really light sleepers but I had no problem. The only real issue I had was that the floor was uneven in my room, and it made it kind of dizzy to walk around in. But other than that, nice place.
We had an excellent experience at the Fairfield Inn Binghamton! The staff was very friendly, helpful, & accommodating. Check-in and out was very smooth. Breakfast was well-stock with many options. Hotel is conveniently located to many restaurants and activities with easy access right off I-81. Definitely will stay there again in the future!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Fairfield Inn Binghamton and found the hotel to be very clean, quiet and comfortable. A nice hot breakfast was served in the morning and everything was well stocked and refilled quickly. The bathroom did appear smaller than some other Fairfield Inns that we have stayed but overall our stay was excellent.
Decently situated off I-81 and close to Otsiningo Park and downtown Binghamton. Reception staff very good, especially as if inadvertently booked the wrong dates and didnt realise until we turned up. Room was good, bright and airy. Breakfast wasnt pleasant and served on cardboard plates. Maybe the plates could have been tastier!
Great stay at Fairfield Binghamton. Dine at Cracker Barrel, wonderful food at great prices and be sure to browse the store. The Fairfield has great people working there. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Price a bit high but you get a lot in return.
I was overcharged by the hotel. They had an old Canadian charge card on mine on file and they used it to charge me for the room. They should have used the American visa card, I gave them on my last visit. The first time i called they said that they noticed that they had used the old Canadian one and apologized for using it and that the money would be refunded to the card. It hasnt been. Now their story is that I gave them the Canadian card on my last visit and not the American card so my rate went from 171.00 to 226.00. So be careful at this hotel. Check all receipts carefully because they are quick to rip you off and/or make a mistake and then refuse to acknowledge that a mistake was made.and then overcharge you but refuse to correct their error.
We had a very easy uneventful trip at the Binghamton Marriott. We have stayed here the last two years after the Chenango Blues Fest and then a Sunday trip to the Binghamton Zoo and Ross Park. Very nice place to stay even on a weekend at full capacity from college move ins with Mom and Dad. I recommend the staff highly.
We always enjoy staying with Fairfield Inn at a number of their locations. The Binghamton location did not disappoint. It was very clean, staff was friendly and very accommodating. The bathrooms are small and the breakfast could use more selections, but neither will prevent us from visiting again.
I was born and raised outside the Binghamton area and presently live outside of Philadelphia. When I visit “up home”, we have always stayed at the Fairfield on Front Street. It offers a great location to visit outlying towns of Sidney, Afton, Windsor, Deposit where I have friends and relatives. In addition, my Cousins enjoy meeting me at the Fairfield and going next door to The Cracker Barrel for dinner. What a convenience. The staff is friendly. I’ve never had to wait for service be it the front desk or house keeping. It is clean and the work out room and swimming pool are well appointed. As we travel to visit family members, we stay in at least ten hotels a year. This Fairfield is a favorite.
Thank you Fairfield Inn for making accommodations for the employees from Elizabeth Church Manor. The staff has been amazing and super friendly so far. You have made what might be a trying day and night a little better and definitely alot safer so we can be there for our residents instead of a treacherous drive in to work.
A nice spot thats easily accessed off the highway and main road. Nearby they have plenty of places to eat including large chain restaurants. Starbucks is right now the road. The rooms were large and clean. They also have contracted breakfast. Pool and small hottub was also available. Theres also a movie theatre close by. A ten minute drive from the mall and shopping centers.
The elevator was not operational and the front desk person placed us on the 4th floor. In addition, despite being a Marriott member, the front desk person put us on the hi-way side which was very noisey. The only room offered was one with 2 full beds even asking for a king size bed. Sunday morning breakfast was marginal and limited food even at 9:30 when the food was to be served until 10:00. Decided to eat breakfast at Craker Barrell next door.
I was put in a room with a bed with a terrible mattress. I had trouble sleeping and a back ache the next day. I wasnt mad, just wanted to inform management so they knew to change the mattress. But, they told me theyve had several complaints about it and knew it was bad. A new one was ordered a long time ago but its not in yet. What kind of management sends guests to sleep on a mattress they know is bad?
This is a super basic, super average, run of the mill Hotel. There is nothing wonderful (other than one morning staff member whom ran the breakfast) but nothing terrible. Just plain vanilla, boring, and average. Staff was marginal and the amenities were functional but not great. For what you get it is very expensive, but options are limited in Binghamton NY.
We were traveling from Toronto to NJ and were being chased by a very bad storm with possibilities of tornados. When we realized that we could not get any further without running back into the storm, we stopped to eat at Applebees, looked out the window, saw the Fairfield Inn, and decided to stay the night. Glad we did. Nice staff, nice room, nice breakfast, nice price, and got Marriott Reward Points as well. Next time up to Toronto (or Niagara Falls) we will probably stop at Applebees and then stay overnight at Fairfield Inn. By the way, the night staff even showed me the room before we decided to stay.

2022-02-18The hotel was nice and comfortable. I have stayed here many times. The breakfast offering was terrible. The bread for toast was stale and the had very little ceresl available. The plastic wrapped hot fod was disgusting and looked inedible. This was very disappointing for a Marriott property and should be looked into. I have always stayed in Marriott properties but Hilton is starting to look better.

2022-06-18The place itself was average but the staff are amazing especially the night shift front desk employee Sadi (probably spelled wrong)She was friendly and personable and a problem solver. There was an issue with my room and she aimed to satisfy me 100% and it literally made everything better. She deserves a raise !! I can also say the gentleman at the front desk on 6/12 was also awesome! Whoever does the hiring gets a thumbs up on picking the right people! Thank you!

2022-05-03NEVER EVER stay at this hotel. I travel for work all over the US and this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Old, dirty, loud traffic noise, horrible breakfast. Bed smelled like cigarettes and the mattress was saggy. Gross and disgusting!

2022-02-28Negative: The thermostat for the heating wasnt working. We were terribly hot until 3:00 AM when I had to turn it off. Also, there was an additional charge of $20 applied to my credit card. I need this reversed.

2021-10-26This was a very upsetting stay. From the minute we arrived. There were other customers waiting for the receptionist to find there reservations. She was screaming at her. And it continued on for a few minutes. After that we got in our room. It was very dirty. Counters were dirty. There were fluids that were dried on the sides of counter, and dried blood in the tub. Then its gets better. Our Tv didnt work. I called the front desk and they said that the handy man never got to that room. Which was very upsetting. Sense we came to stay at the hotel to get away from our autistic son. We never get a break, so it put a damper on the night. The next day I went down stairs to get breakfast. And most of the food was gone. People were asking for things and they just kept stating sorry we ran out. For this hotel to hold the Marriott name. It was really a disappointment. We will never stay here again. And going forward being very cautious with any hotel that has Marriott associated with it. I really think corporate needs to go to this hotel and find out why this hotel has gone down. Not impressed, felt like a 1 star.

2021-10-31The rooms were clean and the service was exceptional!! Extremely pleasant staff!! We checked in late after traveling all day and Bill, the gentleman working the front desk, was extremely friendly and so helpful! We appreciated his smile and kindness after a long day on the road, so much so that we sought out a Fairfield Inn every night after while on our trip and were not disappointed at any of them! I highly recommend this hotel! Bill, who worked the evening of 10-28-21 deserves a bonus and recognition for being such a kind young man and great employee!!

2021-10-01Easy checkin. However, within a short time of checking in, the elevator was out of order, and remained out of service for the duration of our stay. We had to use the stairs from our fourth floor room. The morning of checkout we discovered there was no hot water. Cold showers. This is not something we have experienced at any other Marriott hotel in our many years of loyal service. Upon speaking with the hotel manager we did obtain a partial refund. But we will not be returning to this hotel when we visit our local college student, and cannot recommend it to other guests. Not up to par with Marriott’s standards.

2022-05-25Great place to stay. Clean, large size rooms, and amazing customer service
