The night staff, Mai & ___, that worked Monday the 19th were wonderful! Not only Mai very welcoming and wanted to know how she could make our stay a great experience she took her time to do all of this and exhibited true interest in us and our experience of the day and the next. From this we learned that she would have transportation awaiting us at 5:45AM to take us to the Airport. She also helped in getting our rooms air conditioner to work, and call us when the transportation arrived. Her demeanor was infectious and so welcoming. You all have quality people and much to be proud of, congratulations!!!
We arrived to the hotel via Uber for a family function. The location of the hotel was close the airport so it would have been nice to have a free airport shuttle. If we had rented a car, parking would not have been easy as there were limited spaces for $20/day. The room was small, clean and tidy. Bathroom was modern and had ample counter space. Hair dryer was provided but not used. The microwave and fridge was convenient. Closet was big enough for a few day stay and had a iron and ironing board provided. Bathroom and bed were clean. Towels and sheets were clean. Everything functioned well in the bathroom except the shower door does not stay closed. The free breakfast was inedible. Not much offered besides cereal and juices that were completely artificial. I would have rather had a bagged continental offering- such as bagel and fruit or muffin and juice/coffee. Also, nothing was offered as a Bonvoy loyalty member. It would have been nice to receive two bottles of water on arrival for being Silver Elite. That is what I’ve experienced at other locations.Another issue: there is only one elevator and it was either slow or full. We took the stairs. Overall, nice and clean place to stay near LGA but not a place to hangout. Just to shower and sleep.
This hotel has nothing around it. It’s on a busy on ramp road. No restaurant but free breakfast was good. No pool and very tiny fitness room which was closed. 1 Mike walk to subway station in Astoria. Rooms are small but bed was comfortable. No view at all. I will not stay here again.
Easy access shuttle to and from LaGuardia and the US Open. Walking distance to Cristo’s Steakhouse (yum). On-site parking available. Recent renovations are great. Breakfast is hot, plentiful. Tennis gift bag upon arrival! Great team… Christine, Jose, Mai and more. Enjoy!
I drove to New York by myself to help our son relocate from Queens to Manhattan. My primary requirement for choosing a hotel was vehicle parking and value. The Fairfield Inn Astoria offered surface parking with the privilege of coming and going. It was also very affordable. I found the Fairfield Inn to be exactly what I needed and I was pleasantly surprised by the newness and cleanliness of the accommodations for the cost. My room was spotless; the bathroom had a walk-in shower, there was a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in my room. The climate was easily controlled. I had safe and easy access to my vehicle and because I registered my vehicle at the desk there was always a parking place when I returned to the hotel each evening. I also felt safe walking in the neighborhood, particularly during the day. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
The Hotel overall is nice. its recently updated, the bathroom is nice, with marble counter and barndoor style shower door. My room (202) was at the end of the hall and the noise from the stairwell was loud, not to mention the noise from the road, which at times was deafening. thats with the windows closed.
From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the friendly staff I knew this was going to be a good stay. The rooms are as pictured and the property is well maintained. The breakfast had many choices and the food was satisfactory. I’d recommend and I’d definitely come back to this property.
When I inquired at checkout about the Senior Discount I was told it had to be applied for when making the reservation online. I dont recall seeing an option for it when I made my reservation. I was then told the Senior Discount was only applied at the discretion of the hotel based on occupancy. ??? What is the deal with that? Maybe we will give you a discount or maybe not? I still can not understand why the Senior Djscount could not be applied at time of check out. I would hesitate from staying at a Fairfield Inn again based on their Senior Discount policy. They made it difficult to get and not a guaranteed discount at their discretion. It ruined what would have been an otherwise pleasant stay
I booked a room to treat my mother who was visiting from Chicago and whom recently had her mother pass away. She is not in a good mental health condition and lost her purse with our traveling credentials that day. So I tried to explain the situation to which they guaranteed that I would get a refund via the hotel or via the insurance claim. Hotels.com then canceled the hotel room and I got nothing from the hotel, never even checked in. Not one single dollar for a refund even with insurance. Very disappointed at this hotel for their reaction. $185 gone just like that. My cousin had stayed there with his family two weeks ago and I was looking forward to this night with my mom. I won’t recommend this hotel to anyone anymore. I hope to hear back from their management team as this is not hospitality at its best.
No shuttle when we arrived at airport around 7:30-8pm was then told they had limited service, was told at front desk management was trying to save money? Was told free breakfast started at 6am got down there and found out it was really at 6:30 waited till 6:30 still not allowed in so we took the shuttle back to Lga hungry!. Not happy with my experience and have stayed there before!.
60+ nights in 2020 and Platinum already in 2021. The staff made me feel welcomed and valued. However, an increase in the cost for a night stay has priced me out of the market at this establishment. Since the COVID Pandemic started I supported this establishment exclusively when staying in the LGA area. This was done even though the hotel advertised an airport shuttle service yet failed to provide it. This lack of shuttle service cost me $15 each way to and from the airport. The increase in the cost of a night tells me this establishment has not valued my patronage. I have now made reservations at other establishments in the area.
My boyfriend and I stayed here on a Friday night, we chose to stay here because it was conveniently located near LGA and my boyfriend had an early flight. So glad we chose to stay here, the staff was great, there is parking available, and we had a microwave, fridge and Netflix/prime/showtime on the huge flatscreen. We will definitely be staying here again soon.
Please see my earlier comments. Additionally, the front desk person, Christian, was a fantastic representative for Marriott. He was friendly, courteous, attentive to a particular need we had and provided thorough answers to our several questions. I think a nice raise is in order to ensure that you keep him as an employee.
We came to NYC to visit our daughter in Queens and enjoy an extended weekend in NYC. The hotel in conveniently located near LaGuardia. It is very clean, well appointed, and the service is very good. Our only complaint is that shuttle service to and from LaGuardia was not available though their website indicated it was included.
So much about a trip is often hinged on the hotel you stay at. This was by far the worst Marriott experience Ive ever had. My micro room had a view of a brick wall. There was no parking even if you decided to pay for it, it was not guaranteed. In addition to that, if you needed an additional hour or so for a late checkout you can expect to be slammed with $20 fees per hour in order to check out even one hour after regular hotel checkout time. The rationale for this extra fee, that was 1/5 of my total stay costs for the night was coronavirus. It was evident to me that despite not providing full service hotel amenities, this Marriott was looking to maximize their profit. This was the worst Marriott experience I have ever had. Not only will I never stay here again but I would never recommend this location to anyone anywhere ever!
The Fairfield by Marriott was great in a pinch. It had a king-size bed, a real handicapped- accessible bathroom and - gloriously - a working air-conditioner in an August heat wave. My only two quibbles are the room was a bit small and the breakfast could have been better, but hey, thats New York
Had a pleasant experience at this hotel. It is a Bonvoy affiliated location. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The rooms are decent sized and clean. The bed was very comfortable. They also provided an on the go breakfast option which was nice. Unfortunately there is no shuttle service with pick/drop service to/from the airport. Overall had a nice experience and would come again.
We check in, got to our room and saw a T-shirt on the floor. Call front desk, they change our room and said it was the engineer T-shirt (but really an engineer takes his T-shirt off and leaves it in a room?). The second room they switch us to, the lock didn’t lock! So they switch us to a 3rd room where later the day we notice that fridge wasn’t working, but at this point we where so tired of switching room that we told them we didn’t want to continue switching rooms, they send someone to take a look and they had to replace the fridge. It was a very unsatisfactory experience. I would advise any and all prospective guests to consider other option before staying here. We will never stay here again.
I have stayed at this particular property twice. Each time I must say the staff was excellent. They treated me as if I were the only person there. I especially appreciated the shuttle service and the patience of the night crew. Not being sure of the location I felt safe knowing that a shuttle would be there for me. The shuttle drivers were personable. The room was spacious, the comfortable and the breakfast had a variety of options so I could, if I really wanted to, stick with a very healthy plan. This is not a large hotel, but it acts as if it were a luxury hotel in the treatment of the guests.
We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We loved the parking and my husband loved the free airport shuttle. The room was small but immaculate with all the amenities including fridge, microwave, coffee, desk, etc. The staff was very friendly and incredibly responsive. We visit Queens to see my son and usually stay at upscale boutique hotels that we have not liked. We took a chance on The Fairfield Inn and will now stay there for every visit. Nice free breakfast also. We had rooms in the back and they were very quiet
When I booked I was told I would get my Bonvoy points, but when I arrived I was told that I had booked through a vendor and not direct. The hotels front desk manager, Christine helped me resolve to my satisfaction even speaking to the vendors booking agent on my behalf to refund a non-refundable reservation and saving me $90.night and getting me my Bonvoy points.
The stay was wonderful! Right when we got to the airport the stutter picked us up and drove us to the hotel then to the station. It took no longer than a 10-15 min way to get dropped off and picked up at the subway station and airport! It doesn’t get better than that. The staff and stutter drivers were super friendly, nice, and helpful. All needs we had were met. My husband was so surprised they had a gym and loved it. It was perfect place to stay due to awesome distance from the airport and city!
Best Hotel near LGA with clean rooms that are comfortable. This is an updated hotel and the rooms though small have the latest tech and bathroom features. Take the M-60 or a quick taxi/über to La Guardia and you will be at your departure gate in no time. This hotel is also within walking distance of Astorias Little Egypt for excellent Arab food and hookah. Affordable pricing for NYC hotels and less congested than Jackson Heights or Flushing.
I was supposed to stay Saturday and check out Sunday at noon I called on Thursday to cancel the reservation they told me my credit card was taken out of the system. Proceeded to charge My Account $312 which they never returned and when they finally did I was charged $182 in overdraft checking fees which they said they were not responsible for Miguel the supervisor never returned my call after leaving him several messages. Katticia another supervisor there never bothered to return my call as well very unprofessional poor communication skills!!!
Rooms clean and spacious. Some staff friendly but the first day I specifically asked not to be disturbed during the day because I work EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, 7 days in one hospital and 7 days in the other hospital...however my request was unheard. People knocked at the door for the most stupid reasons, even to deliver a package that I normally get on my way in or out, no need to bring it to the room and my last day, a not nice woman woke me up only 2 hours after I went to sleep, to tell me that my reservation expired. I explained that it was extended and she said it was not. I said fine just bill it to the agency, but it was impossible for me to go back to sleep. At about 2:30 I decided to leave and on my way out I showed her proof of the extension and she said if it is not in the computer then it was not extended. Later I found an email from the agency that made the reservation that provided the name of the person that verified receipt of the reservation that was never entered in their system...was all that necessary? I was in that hotel for a month...did I deserve that treatment?
Hotel staff was very kind and helpful. Im a rewards member so was greeted with a welcome bag that had free water and snacks upon arrival. Room was everything I needed. Also, cant beat free breakfast and shuttle to the Astoria subway. Also on-site parking was convenient. Overall great and affordable stay. Would definitely go back!
Front desk person at check-in was ornery, disagreeable and didnt seem well equipped to deal with the general public. Hotel cleaned ok but smells and feels like the cheap airport crashpad that it is, with guests & rooms that reflect that. Much more of a Choice Hotels vibe (sorry, Choice). That said, you could do worse and go to the ACTUAL Choice hotel up the street (Avion Inn 😬)...LGA hotels are poor in general but there are better options closer to the terminals (Marriott and Aloft, if youre loyal to Bonvoy, Hampton for Hilton) and there isnt a shuttle here these days ($20+ Uber). Woman at checkout was friendly but I certainly didnt receive the great, caring staff feeling from anyone here that others seem to have gotten. Property is located on the semi-industrial edge of Astoria (again, not too close to LGA) and is in a pretty good spot if you wanted to be nearby family there or cared to visit this destination-worthy neighborhood itself
Made a reservation for Sunday came on Saturday to see if I can cancel my reservation for Sunday and book a room for that night. The guy said no problem. I checked out Sunday morning no issue. Until I checked my account and seen that they never canceled my Sunday booking. Not only that, I was doubled booked and got charged twice. Called the hotel to reason with them and to correct their mistake but they said they charged me because I was a no show on Sunday even though I checked out on Sunday. DONT STAY HERE!
Quick trip to NYU to drop my child off at dorm, with covid rules, had to leave nyc within 24 hrs- this hotel was perfect. Less than 10 min and $10 to airport and hotel room was nice and super clean. Can’t comment on amenities as during covid, nothing open and I stayed in room.
The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions. The breakfast was great and had a good variety of food. The gym was always clean and had towels for the guests. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Great location, we were able to walk to restaurants and shops. It was a wonderful stay and I would definitely chose this Hotel again.
Fairfield Inn is fantastic! My father and I stayed here while we were in New York. I wanted to lodge in Queens because I wanted to go see the Reds take on the Mets at nearby Citi Field.Clean rooms, has all the utilities you need from what I recall. Modern TV that was fairly easy to use. The breakfast was phenomenal. Even had waffles!Dont overplay to lodge in Manhattan, its not worth it. Uber is very affordable and take you to and from the hotel to get anywhere in the city you need. Even still, Queens has a decent amount of stuff. The hotels staff were pleasant, especially at the front desk.By the way, dont let the fact its near an airport scare you away. The walls are pretty thick to mute the noise. My father cant stand noise normally, and I asked him if the flyover planes bothered him, to my shock, it did not bother him at all.If Im ever back in NYC, Im coming back here too!
We had overall pleasant experience. I love free breakfast, though the breakfast area is a bit small. Whenever I called houskeeping, they would magically appear. That was nice. The negative was a small shuttle bus and limited parking. It was not clear if the parking is guaranteed or not because we could not find a free spot and were advised to park on the street.
Pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel is. Employees are friendly, beds are comfortable, airport shuttle efficient. Only suggestions are that the pillows werent the most supportive and would be nice if the actual curtains closed all the way (to make it darker in the rooms, and for privacy).
I had a reservation for the 4th of July weekend. I booked the room and talked to the front desk staff. However they cancelled my reservation without informing me. I was with my family in NYC in the middle of the night without a room. The front desk didnt help and I have to book room at a different hotel. Very painful experience , dont recommend at all.
Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia Airport/Astoria was a great choice for us. The front desk, in particular Maria, was very helpful and kind. The standard room was just the right size, not too small or too big. Most of all it was clean, and the beds are VERY comfortable, meaning not too soft or hard. The breakfast accommodates your sweet cravings if you want a waffle/pancake, and if you want to stick to healthy. There were plenty of tea options, soy and regular milk, and flavored creamers for coffee. The shuttle bus drivers were very helpful, and friendly. The hotel overall is neat, and clean. Has exactly what you need to get a good rest. It is on the other side of the bridge to Manhattan so be ready for a 45 minute Uber/Lyft ride. If you go with the subway, it is cheaper and takes about the same amount of time. The hotel is able to shuttle you to the subway.
This hotel provided shuttle service to/from airport and subway station. Yes, we did have to plan on a commute to Manhattan (20-30 min) but the lower cost, nice room, and amenities were worth it. We stayed 7 days and used the shuttle service every day. Our room was clean, internet was quick, and staff very helpful. There was enough variety in breakfast to keep it from being boring - awesome oatmeal bar.
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel for a business trip. The room was nice, clean & quiet. Bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was also good, and we also appreciated the free WiFi and parking. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating for our small group. The area seemed like a nice residential area. The only knock might be if you dont have a car, I didnt seem many restaurants close by. But for our group that was ok. All in all, we had a great experience - and couldnt ask for a better value for our money.
We have stayed here a few times and each time has been great. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and we always enjoy the free coffee. Free parking is another great feature and we always use that, and sometimes use the free shuttle to the subway. We plan on returning. Thank you!
Being that this was my for work trip in a few months, I have to say I was pleased. The staff were so pleasant. The property it beautiful and up to date. Breakfast was very good. The only thing that was challenging was parking. While the hotel has a parking lot, if you get to the hotel after about 9pm, you will have to circle for parking on the street. One of the staff members helped me find parking, so, I was happy.
The stay was very pleasant. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good, and Maria at the front desk was very sweet. We got into town early but they were accommodating and made sure we got in our room well before check in time! I was surprised about the room size... big for New York 😊Ill stay here again when I return to NY!
We stayed here 3/16-18 and did not experience any problems. The staff was very helpful from the desk, service, breakfast attendant, and shuttle driver. The only minor concern is that this hotel has somewhat smaller rooms than average, which is completely understandable as one quickly comprehends how space is a premium in this city. Thank God im a country boy! :) I would recommend the hotel for anyone staying in the area, you couldnt do better. Thanks Fairfield Inn for a comfortable stay. Oh, I almost forgot, the beds are very comfortable and the breakfast had everything you could want from hot to cold.
I spent three weeks here because my apartment burned down (get renters insurance this moment). They obviously took extra cleaning and distance precautions because of COVID. None of the common spaces were open, but better to be safe! They are providing breakfast to go bags. The housekeepers and staff are really kind. I had so much stuff delivered (I came with what I was wearing and my friends boots on) and they were right on notifying me, even when it started to make me sad (get renters insurance - a fire is traumatic enough without having to worry where youll stay). Every single person indulged my terrible extroversion and mediocre spanglish.I have back pain most days and did not at ALL on that bed!The only con was that, as others have mentioned, its hard to control the temperature. The heat is very dry, so if youll be there for a while, Id recommend the aquaphor chapstick.Get renters insurance!
This was a nice hotel. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. It is near several good restaurants and is within a mile of shops, coffee houses, restaurants, etc. If you dont mind walking its a nice walk, otherwise can take Uber or a taxi. This hotel has a self parking lot ($15/day) which is hard to come by in most hotels in the area but parking is limited so if you come back late it will likely be full. They also include continental breakfast. This hotel was near where we wanted to be so it worked out great.
This hotel was just average. Our room was down the steps to a lower level. It felt like we were in a basement. I was also never told that the parking lot parking had to be reserved. We spent a lot of time looking for parking our first night. There was also a lot of construction occurring that made our stay just slightly unpleasant. Other than that, everything else was average.
It is not Manhattan, but the rates here are at most half of what one would pay in hotels in Manhattan. Unfortunately, one advantage it had (free parking) is not anymore, although at $15 /day is not prohibitive. It is a basic Fairfield hotel, nothing luxurious, but it serves the purpose of providing a clean room and a good breakfast Although the immediate neighborhood is not that attractive, the wider area of Astoria is felt safe. If one has to walk to the subway station, a walk via Ditmars ave is interesting as one would walk a nice, vibrant area, even if around midnight (10-15 min walk). Overall is a good value for the price. Some simple renovation, something like carpet renewal, would not be a bad idea. The morning receptionist was a very nice and attentive person.
The entire staff is accommodating, professional and yet warm. Maria at the front desk gives excellent advice for any questions you may have. The room is super clean. The cleaning lady here is super professional and does everything in the most hygienic manner. The breakfast- a heaven for anyone! You can dig into scrambled eggs and sausage and so much more. But the breakfast bar is also great for health conscious or diabetics. Fresh oatmeal, fruits, walnuts to sprinkle on etc. I would never check into any other hotel but this one when I need one. The BEST! You will not be disappointed. Karin and Kamran
The downside of this location is the $25.00 fee for parking on the property. I checked in at approx. 12:15am, during my phone reservation I was never informed of an additional fee, I paid close to $300.00 to check out at 7am. In this pandemic safety in all aspects are paramount. To be subjected to look for parking is outrageous, that fee should automatically be included.
My wife and I stay here a couple times a year while visiting NYC. It is reasonably close to the subway (a little over 0.5 mile but the van takes us and picks us up if we dont feel like walking). The rooms are not large but are modern, well kept up, clean, and quiet. Like all Marriott hotels the beds are very good. Breakfast is meh but everything it needs to be. The staff are all friendly and genuinely happy to see me. The hotel has complimentary protected parking, albeit a bit tight. It is a small hotel and fills up so be sure to book in advance.
I originally requested an early 1:00 check-in. We arrived much earlier than anticipated (around 11:30). We went in to ask to use the restroom and she was able to check us in then!! I cant remember her name but she was the nicest person I encountered through our whole stay. The rooms were clean. The bed was sooo comfy. There was a little noise but our room was across from the elevator so that is to be expected. When the house keeper made the bed she even folded my daughters blanket that we had with us. That may not seem like a big deal but that they cared enough to show our personal items care was a big deal to me. Any time I come to NYC I will only be staying here!
Staff is great, feel very safe outside in parking lot in late evenings. Some noise from traffic but its minimal and not bothersome. Rooms and lobby are very clean and modern. Beds and pillows are comfortable with super crisp sheets. Gym is small but has enough to keep you on your rountine. Clean towels are available in gym. Havent used shuttle but I always see them coming in and out. Breakfast has healthy options as well as the traditional breakfast foods. Extremely happy for our long term stay!
The friendly and helpful front desk staff greeted us and quickly checked us in. Recommended good food for delivery at 11:00pm. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We has to skip the complimentary breakfast due to our early am flight. Complimentary shuttle to LaGuardia was the topper. I would definitely stay again.
I had never visited this area of New York City previously, but my (business) trip was made very comfortable and convenient with my stay at this Fairfield Inn. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and you can tell that they are genuinely concerned with the guests comfort and satisfaction. The rooms are impeccably clean and fresh smelling. The amenities are fine and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast area is clean, neat, and has an excellent selection of food. It was attended by a very friendly host. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would recommend this location to my business associates, friends.....everybody. Thank-you. Gil C.
I have been traveling to the Astoria/Queens area for business over a year now, and in that time I have stayed at a half-dozen different hotels. Through all of the experience that I have accumulated, my preference is to stay at the Fairfield Inn Marriott LaGuardia. For my needs, I just cant beat the location. It is within walking distance to dozens of bars and restaurants in the Astoria area, the staff is friendly and professional, and the price is reasonable - especially for New York. If I were staying with my family I would try to find a hotel with a pool, but Im not. Im a lonely business traveler, and this location gives me all of the amenities that I need, and none that I dont. The continental breakfast is better than you might expect. The fitness room is small but sufficient. The internet connection (both wired and WiFi) is easily accessible and stable. The rooms have comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and water pressure, and a sufficient workspace for a laptop and some documents. What else could a business traveler need?
What a pleasant stay at this wonderful hotel. Everything was great!!! only thing I have to complaint about is that I didnt get to stay there long enough. Room was clean and great. The breakfast was great. The staff was wonderful. The day we checked out they kept our luggage till later in the evening since our flight at night. They provided us with shuttle service. Thank you for all your help.I would recommend this hotel to everyone!
This is a great hotel for access to Laguardia. They have a free shuttle to the airport which is very important to me. I would suggest leaving for the airport earlier than usual due to the construction. Traffic really backs up. The free breakfast was well stocked and good variety. The room was clean and comfortable with everything I needed.
This is a nice NY hotel alternative. The price is affordable and you still get the high-end Marriott hotel services. They have a shuttle to take you to LGA or to the subway station if you want to go to Manhattan. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable as well. The only reason I give this a Good rating is because when I requested for a shuttle service one time, the front desk forgot to send the shuttle to pick me up at the subway. But overall, this is a good hotel to stay in. I recommend it.
My husband and I stayed here because we were going to a wedding nearby. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was good. Easy check in and out. I would recommend this hotel. The only thing I didnt like was that our room was in a basement and I wasnt prepared for that and the shower drained very slowly.
This was a great place to stay while visiting my daughter in Queens. It is a very affordable hotel without skimping on the basics: my room was very clean and had all the standard fixtures in a hotel. I parked my car for a very reasonable price (for NYC). The subway station is a bit of a walk but the hotel provides shuttle transportation to the station on request. Also, you need to walk 4-5 blocks to be in the heart of the restaurant areas or other subway lines - which for me was not an issue since I like to walk (BTW - this area of Queens has a relatively flat terrain and is quite safe to walk through).
Weve stayed here often, and always have an easy time. Parking lot is convenient; proximity to city is great. Free breakfast lessens the reasonable price of the room even more. Staff is friendly and helpful. They really cater to the airline customers but weve been very pleased with the attention they give us. Wouldnt stay anywhere else!
We stayed overnight while visiting friends. The hotel is very clean, beds pretty comfortable, staff is very attentive. We had an issue with the heat and it was resolved within 10 minutes. Parking is a nightmare. Very small parking lot. Complimentary breakfast was okay, typical free breakfast. One of us is gluten free and there were no safe gluten free options. Overall, we will stay there again the next time we visit. Very close to the airport.
The hotel and staff were great. Hot breakfast was a nice way to start the day every morning. The hotel was a little far from the subway entrance, but we utilized the hotel’s free shuttle service many times. The hotel was very accommodating though the beds were a little small.
A 2 bed room in Manhattan is out of my price range generally, but this hotel is a great value and short trip from city center. The location is close to number of Astoria restaurants and they have a free shuttle that runs to LGA and to the Astoria-Ditmars station, from which it is a short train ride into Manhattan. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are up to date and comfortable.
This is my first visit to USA and I am lucky to have my first stay here.It is not a luxury hotel but amazing helpful staff make it perfect. And it is sooo acceptable in compare to its price. Rooms quiet good size and beds are comfortable and bathroons quiet clean. The subway is about 16 min walk away but the hotel provide transportation every 30 min to it.All services around avaliableBreakfast was simple and nice especially the oat meal which i like it alotFor me I strongly recommend it to all.
Loved our stay. Very nice people at check-in. Rooms were a little small, but fine for a family of 4. Very clean and very safe. Stayed for 4 days and never saw anything out of place within the hotel. Convenient location to either LGA airport or NYC (driving or subway). The hotel has a shuttle that will run you to the subway or airport. Subway ride is about 25 minutes to NYC. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. Other than the breakfast (which was excellent), food options are rather limited. We were very happy with the Neptune Diner, which is right where the hotel shuttle drops you off for the subway. A great old time diner feel.
This was a great find for us and an excellent value overall. It is small and well-kept, rooms clean and comfortable, good breakfast. The shuttle to Laguardia and the subway station clinch the deal. This hotel played a big role in making our New York trip enjoyable and affordable.
Overall the experience was nice. We used the shuttle and ate breakfast most days. The breakfast was good and had good choices. It was clean and well-stocked. The front desk people were nice. The shuttle was convenient for the most part but one night we got caught with some subway issues and we called and asked what time the shuttle ran until and they told us 1:00am. We got to the Astoria Subway shuttle pick-up at 12:42am and called and we were told the shuttle would be there shortly. We waited until 1:07 am and asked if the shuttle had to go to the airport first and they said No, he didnt come pick you up? We said No and he apologized but said he was no longer there and he offered to order us a cab at our expense but wasnt sure how long it would take to get picked up. We asked if it was safe to walk and he assured it was. It was 6/10 of a mile which isnt long but we did pass a night club of sorts that had rowdy people all standing out on the sidewalk. It made us very nervous but we walked across the street and around them as inconspicuously as possible. The only issue we have is that when we called at 12:42am they assured us we would be picked up and then we were not. The only other thing is we reserved the room in June for October and our reservation guaranteed a King bed. We also noted that we did not want to be in the basement and we had a late check-in. We even called the front desk the day before to remind them of our late check-in and our request of not being in the basement. When we arrived we got our room and as soon as we opened the door we saw it was two beds and not a king. We went right back down to the desk and we were told they were oversold on King beds and that they may have one open the next day (we were there for 4 nights) but it would probably be in the basement. I told them we would just keep the one we had. I wonder how often they depend on people to not expect what they reserved.
Avoid if you can, but not a tragedy if you must. This did not stand up to the Fairfield Inn standard. The room smelled of cigarettes and a powerful perfume. The towel rack was barely hanging into the wall due to shoddy repairs using what looked like mounting putty. The floors had toenails and crushed bread all over the carpet and the pillows, I cannot make this up, smelled of fecal matter. Most of all, paying for parking does not guarantee you a spot as it is not enforced by the hotel. BUT if you do get a parking spot, this is within walking distance of any type of food fair you could possibly crave.
I stayed two nights so I could have outpatient eye surgery a few blocks away. From my arrival to departure the staff could not have been more courteous, accommodating, or pleasant to deal with. They answered all my questions, were attentive to all my needs, and made the place run like a well oiled machine.I normally dislike any city. But my two day stay and foot trips around the neighborhood were pleasantly pleasing, and knowing I had a great hotel with great staff to go home to each night made me want to return to NY for more exploring, food, and fun. This hotel is very close to LaGuardia Airport. During my two day stay, half dozen or more pilots and stewards stayed at the hotel. Because so many airline professionals stay here, this hotel on the ball. And they extend that level of professionalism and courtesy to every guest, pilot or plumber. You wont regret a minute of your stay here.
We came to Queens to visit our son who lives nearby. From the moment we entered this hotel, we were greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Queens or to people who want to visit Manhattan, but dont want to pay the rates in the city. The subway is nearby and the hotel provides a free shuttle to the stop. Its a great hotel, quiet and friendly.
I do not know where to begin. Our checking went by so fast that I could not even compare it to a hotel that I have checked into in Florida. Also the staff was extremely nice especially the manager Steve who helped us with breakfast and also made sure that our stay was extremely comfortable. The rooms are nice and clean and since my friends say I have OCD that is a big plus. Also they have a really nice and friendly shuttle stop that takes you to the subway and also to the airport. And the front desk person that worked this weekend was also very helpful with telling us where to get food and were telling us which subway to take and telling us that there was a delay in the subway and how to take the shuttle to make sure we get on the sub right Subway into the city. This place is not the best but it is great if you ask me.
Just the right size hotel to be more relaxing and personal than larger ones. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating especially Maria Canal.Having the shuttle service to take you to the N Line on the subway was a great plus. It made travel around the city so much more easier. They were also ready to pick you up from there when you were returning back to the hotel. The Neptune Diner was a perfect place to be picked up to go back to the hotel. We even had dinner there one night. The food was much better than we expected. No wonder they got an award for Best Diner. The breakfast area was very clean, open, and airy. Very pleasant. It was nice that they had coffee and tea available throughout the day. After a busy day in the city it was nice to come back to the hotel and make myself a cup of tea to unwind.Thank you for a pleasant experience.
Nice hotel. Free parking and being close to our visit was the item that drew us to this hotel. Did not try the WiFi. Breakfast was normal free type, but did have beacon and sausage. We were late so no bread for toast left, also the milk container for coffee was empty. No regular cream or half and half for coffee. This is a NYC site so rooms are small and breakfast area walkways were narrow, just be patient, lucky for us none of the guests were pushy. Room carpet looks to be ready for replacement. Bed was comfortable. A couple of loud motorcycles went by late at night, but I did say this is NYC. Would stay here again.
While this isnt the newest Fairfield property, its very well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I couldnt have asked for a better location. Ten minutes from LaGuardia airport and about a 20-minute train ride to Manhattan. The shuttle service to the train station and the airport made this an ideal location overall. Very enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.
This hotel has the most courteous staff specifically Christina, Maria. Also I want to include Tyler who was gracious to move his vehicle so that may park mine, as parking is limited.I have nothing negative to say about my stay. I have found the best hotel that I will be definitely coming back too.Kudos to all, you all where amazing!!!
Generally I like Marriotts hotels. I booked many times with Fairfield Inn when I was travelling for leisure. If one was just get remodeled, it would be very stylish. This one is pretty old and small, but I can see it is trying to keep inertia design with Marriotts style. The best part it has very good service.1. The representatives at front desk were very nice, they told us all possible services from the hotel, specially 2 ladies in the afternoon shift.2. Shuttle bus service is very nice for picking/sending customers from/to LGA or subway.3. Very clear print out list listing most New York attractions and how to rout from the hotel. Its better to include the rout to the hotel from the attraction.4. Continental breakfast is good enough for such sized hotel.5. Facilities are bedding are old, but pretty cleaning with Marriott’s style.
Clean, quiet, friendly staff. Breakfast was awesome--clean, well stocked. Room was clean and comfortable. At check-in, I requested a higher floor and was accommodated immediately. Shuttle was fast, friendly, and key to my stay since I was traveling frequently with an infant. No complaints. One recommendation: almond milk for breakfast, please!! :)
Room 412 was drenched upon arrival, also upon entry no greeting just what is your last name. I have stayed at multiple Marriott properties but this greeting was by far the worst and direct, nothing negative, but nothing positive that you come to expect from Marriott affiliated properties. Room was switched however the new room had about a 50% smaller tv, just an overall downgrade from reporting the initial issue. The bed was however really comfortable, and the bathroom was nice.
As always, it was most satisfactory - clean, quiet, friendly, great breakfast and delicious nighttime cookies. Two front desk personnel were most helpful. Upon my telephone call one morning after leaving the hotel, Christina graciously retrieved my iPad that I forgot on a bench in the lobby and put it away for safe keeping. Later that night, Joseph was most helpful with my inability to connect to your wi-fi. After trying several options that did not work, he called a tech person affiliated with your wi-fi service who walked me through a successful connection over the phone. We love that all your employees are well trained and very pleasant. We also love the shuttle service, which makes it so easy for us to get to our daughters house which is very close to the 31st St. subway stop. We will see you again soon.
Staff very friendly. Great location to airport and train station. The fact that they have a shuttle for both is also awesome. They include breakfast also...not the best, but for the price of the room, cant beat it! Fitness center is very tiny, but has the essentials and they have a water cooler.
Everything about this place was awesome, from arriving at La Guardia and the shuttle getting there promptly to the smooth check-in where they pretty much tell you everything you need to know while staying in the area. The hotel location is close enough to all the conveniences, but not right on the front line so you wont be drowned out by traffic noises. The shuttle to the airport and subway stop runs on schedule and all the drivers are polite and helpful. All of the areas are kept in great condition and obviously cleaned regularly.
The stay was good but with a few issues. I was told a booked through a third party so I would not receive my Marriott Rewards. The bathroom only had a shower stall which ran water on the bathroom floor until adjusted to run towards one corner of the stall. The continental breakfast and location are excellent. Free parking was a big asset to the location as well. Easy to get to from any Astoria location or from LaGuardia Airport with shuttle service from the hotel.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn New York Laguardia Airport/Astoria. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicous and offered healthy choices in both hot and cold meal options. The staff made us feel like we were coming home after some long days out exploring the steets of New York. The hotel is within walking distance (less than 2 blocks) to a clean, affordable laundramat and neighborhood restaurants. I would highly recommend this clean and convenient hotel.
Found this great property when we were stranded in New York due to cancelled flights. Minutes from LaGuardia, but didnt hear planes landing and taking off all night. Breakfast service ensured we were able to grab some breakfast before official hours and still catch our early AM flight. Shuttle driver was very professional and helpful also.
My wife booked a room for us, we came here after a long flight and These guys are like my second family because they made me feel right at home. From check in to check out, it was excellent. The smiles, the breakfast and peace of mind I received from the hotel is priceless! To the best General Manager Roman was great, and excellent staff, Thank You !!!! I was very pleased with everything!!!
This was a nice, clean hotel. Very close to LaGuardia and a free shuttle. Free breakfast was very good. Convenient location for Juno drivers to pick us up. Just had trouble with key card one time and got immediate help. Friendly staff that let me check in early after a long plane ride.
The shuttle service to and from the airport and subway station was the best!! Breakfast was very good. Included hot and healthy options. Room was a bit small and decor was a little on the blah side. Overall, though, the staff, the shuttle, the comfortable bed and a nice size bathroom make this hotel a very nice place to stay.
Ive stayed here frequently for business. It is an airport hotel, dont expect too much. A free breakfast which is reasonable (fruit, bagels, waffles, usually scrambled and/or egg w/ cheese omelet, bacon sausage (sometimes veggie sausage) and cereal. Not the highest quality but it will get you going in the morning. Free shuttle to the airport on the half-hour. Free, but somewhat slow/wonky internet (you can upgrade for, I believe, $4.95 per day) free Wall Street Journal, and a clean environment with professional and personable people at the front desk. The rooms are typical airport sized, meaning smallish but theres ample space for your bags and reasonable drawer and closet space. Coffee maker with supplies is included although you can get coffee in the lobby. Theres a small shop with some snacks in the lobby. It is not conveniently located other than for the airport. If you want to walk/ eat at a restaurant or go to a pub you will need to take a taxi or Uber/Lyft. Fortunately, being near the airport an Uber driver will usually pick you up within a few minutes and a drive to any of the very many restaurants in the area will be quick and inexpensive. There is an extremely wide range of various excellent ethnic restaurants with a few miles. Unfortunately, even in good weather, I would not recommend walking, especially at night.Im rating the location as fair, for this reason, but if you just want access to the airport it is excellent. They will also shuttle you to the subway and in just a few stops you will be in midtown Manhattan. Getting back is a different story, you will likely need to grab a ride from the subway to the hotel.
It was a great experience staying at Fairfield Marriott at Astoria, NY. We stayed there for a couple of nights during our visit to New York City from Chicago. They have ample parking on the back. The hotel served good quality breakfast. Overall it was a comfortable stay at Fairfield. I would strongly recommend others to try it out.
For an airport hotel and a lower end on the marriott food chain this was a pretty nice place. Room was clean and well maintained. View from the room was looking at another building about 10 ft away so dont expect a view of the city. Free shuttle and breakfast were nice although the breakfast area was a bit small and somewhat hard to maneuver. Overall it met my needs. Decent price close to LGA with a free shuttle.
Hotel was clean, checkin was fast and easy. Room was clean. Bed was too soft and halls to narrow. Room not big enough to stay for a shopping trip but perfect for an overnight. Close to the city areas i visited. Hard to get to via Gps. Can be confusing. Right off the highway so can be missed easily. Not convenient for parking after hours as the lot is small. Glad i wasnt clamped for being in the handicap bay of the hotel. Otherwise would use again!
Stayed in this hotel while visiting family in Astoria. Comfortable bed in a nice room. Very clean. Friendly, professional staff intent on providing an excellent guest experience. While we normally prefer and stay in full service hotels (bar, restaurant, etc. on property), this hotel fulfilled the needs we had for this trip. Excellent value for the price. We plan to stay here again.
We have stayed at this particular Fairfield location for many years. We would not stay at any other hotel. The staff is wonderful., caring and sincere They are genuinely interested in you and want to make sure you have a good experience at their property. Another extra they provide to guests is access to their shuttle. This makes it so easy to get around.
The hotel is in a very good and safe location. The room we had was adequate and clean. Very good wifi reception (free). Decent breakfast, nothing to talk about, though. The hotel provides free parking, which we used as we would go to Manhattan by subway (about 10-12 min walk, or if you are lucky, a bus ride there). There is a free shuttle, as well, provided by the hotel. Also, close to some ethnic (mostly Greek) restaurants and cafes. We tried the Loukoumi. Fair to say that we had the best dinner there of all three we had in NYC.Overall, I think that if one wants to avoid the exorbitant NYC hotel rates and does not mind the subway ride (25 min toTimes Sq), this hotel may be one of the top choices. If one drives there, the crossing of the whole Manhattan and some of Astoria with the associated traffic should also be taken into account. On the other hand, it should be excellent if flying to and from LaGuardia.
Great stay. The staff was friendly and the room very comfortable. If you like middle eastern cuisine , a short walk down the road is a street with restaurants and businesses that were fantastic. I had some of the best seafood a short walk from the hotel. It was like eating dinner in Cairo without the trip. People were friendly and welcoming. I would give it a try. It was safe and a neat experience.
Seems like a brand New hotel do clean. Everything seems very new and clean. It is close to road but I heard zero road noise when inside. No complains at all. Free breakfast is nice and it has a small parking lot. Apparently they have a free shuttle to the airport also.
Pros: The hotel is centrally located in Queens. The staff is friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast iswell-done and the staff there friendly. The rooms are clean, well-maintained but small, similar to what youfind in major European cities. It is within walking distance of a small restaurant area. I recommend the hotel for acouple .. or a single person on a business trip.Cons: No beer or wine for purchase in the snacks area, typically near the front desk, unlike most Marriott hotels. There are convenience stores nearby.
We were so impressed by all that the hotel offered from a timely pickup at Laguardia to a accomodatkng our earlier arrival and extending courtesy breakfast to a drive back to Laguardia! Received most warmly by reception at all times. Great staff at breakfast. Cleaners drivers. A really unexpected wonderful stay!!
This hotel is a good choice if you are flying into LaGuardia. It has a free airport shuttle pickup. It is close to the Astoria Blvd W and N subway. You can walk 16 minutes to the train or take the hotel shuttle. From Astoria Blvd, you can get to 57th street and 7th Avenue in around 16 minutes. It was a good choice for going to the US Open because the hotel had a free shuttle to the Open ( leaving every hour). We picked that hotel because we liked the idea of having a free shuttle to the US Open and we liked the fact that we could take the train into NYC whenever we wanted. The hotel full breakfast was also quite good ( and another perk). The staff is very friendly and helpful!
I needed a hotel room to have a quiet place to prepare overnight and to make an important presentation over the internet, since the place I am staying in Manhattan is very noisy. I arrived very late and kind of grumpy from the walk from the Metro station. I was not patient enough to wait for them to pick me up by shuttle. The check in lady was very nice and welcoming. Made me felt welcome. The room was clean, internet was fast and bed was comfortable so I had a great environment to do my business. At 1am I took a walk and found Steinway Ave with all the Middle Eastern restaurants etc. Made the otherwise boring walk interesting and I ended up getting some food to go back to the city. It really was not a bad commute from Manhattan either.
This hotel provided a nice place to stay on a quick overnight. The front staff was excellent and very helpful in making our stay great. The shuttle to & from the subway stop was a great benefit that helped us out and allowed us to get to downtown Manhatten quickly without having to drive and find a parking spot. The breakfast was a good start to the day and helped us get going. Would definately recommend this hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel, Marie greeted us at the front desk. Through the entire stay, she was warm, personable, and professional. She gave us a cheat sheet of the city, as well as a map. She also gave us her personal recommendations around town. Marie was so sweet to my young daughter, and made her feel included and important. Best customer service experience EVER. Our room was clean, and we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.
This is a very busy area and I was concerned about the parking but the parking was good at the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was very good with excellent selection. The coffee was good. There were 4 towels in the bathroom instead of other hotels that only have 3. The room was clean. It was also quieter than I expected it to be. There was a pillow choice for any kind of sleeper. Bed was comfortable. Staff were kind. Great stay.
We had 4 rooms reserved. My family was overall pleased with the stay, Staff was especially nice (Maria at desk #1) and accommodating to our needs which helped make this stay a good experience. Breakfast was OK - typical hotel breakfast buffet fare. Rooms are pricey but then again this is New York.
Easy and quick access to and from LaGuardia using hotel shuttle services. Also very pleased with free shuttle service to subway station. Shuttles very prompt, running on the hour and half hour. Great location as far as getting to Manhattan or airport. Will definitely choose this hotel again when staying in the New York area. And the included breakfast was very tasty and saved money as well. Staff very friendly and helpful when attempting to navigate Manhattan.
Staff at this hotel were very courteous. I would reccomend this place to anyone looking for a location for business or personal stay. the breakfast are is a little small, but the items offered were tasty. They had coffee available all day and night. The internet speeds were good and i was able to watch netflix without any problems in my room on more then one occasion.
VERY LOUD TRAFFIC NOISE!! Key machine down... I was told by front staff they would have a shuttle for us in the morning...then at 0415 NO SHUTTLE, they told me they werent responsible. Pathetic customer service, LIED TOO, SHAME ON MARRIOTT FOR ALLOWING THE BRAND ON THIS HOTEL. Poor people skills!
Clean, convenient. The hotel is a little small, but the room was clean. This is a clean, comfortable well run hotel. Breakfast was good. You got New York sized bagels - big fresh ones. Theres also an airport shuttle which will take you to the nearest subway station and LGA.
I give this hotel a solid three stars. The staff is very friendly - the rooms are clean , good storage , slightly smaller but adequate - great mattress- No jet noise. Subway is a 15 min walk in a safe area. Parking is controlled and I always found a spot . Good location for me to drive to work on Long Island but be close to Manhattan. . Great restaurants two subway stops away Can drive to LaGuardia without getting on interstate.
Absolutely worst hotel experience in all my 27 years of life. Firstly, the person who answered the phone clearly hates their job and had no problem making it apparent. Upon arrival I was greeted in a dismissive way and was given no directions on how to find room once checked in. Room clean, however, freezing cold with no way to adjust temperature. Left to get food and return to no parking available. Was told to park on the street.Spent over an hr driving searching for parking. Beyond frustrating!
This is a great hotel when visiting NYC. They have a free shuttle from LaGuardia to the hotel which is about 5-10 minutes away. Very convenient to this airport and a subway station is only a 10 minute walk. The shuttle will also take/pickup from subway station. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is good. Good value for the money.
Love this place. We had stayed here before because it was so great. The staff cater to the guest and make your visit a pleasant experience all around. Clean facility, fantastic complementary breakfast, excellent shuttle service. Clean facility fantastic complementary breakfast excellent shuttle service Highly recommend this Marriot.
Near subway and multiple bus lines. Free shuttle bus to LaGuardia. No noise despite location 2 miles from airport. Checkin staff very helpful with menus and local info. Room size OK for a NYC property. Room well furnished with very comfy bed, desk, reliable wifi. Excellent hot breakfast.
Heres a tip. After staying in Manhattan, an easy and economical exit is to stay overnight at the Fairfield Inn. Take the Subway to Astoria via the N or W train. The Fairfield shuttle will you pick you up at the last stop. Call the hotel and wait at the McDonalds at the subway exit. Usually a short wait and quick drop off at the hotel. The Fairfield is a 10 minute shuttle ride to LaGuardia and takes a lot of stress out of your trip to the airport - you know how that can be! Clean, convenient, nice room and the friendly staff had cookies when we arrived. We usually take a taxi into Manhattan from LaGuardia when we visit which is a $45 ride into Midtown Manhattan. Subway back out is $2.75 per person if you can manage your luggage fairly easily.
Generally speaking, my stay, the hotel, breakfast, etc was fine. The location is great for getting to Randalls Island and so many other things, and the staff was great with bringing extra towels etc. But what really annoyed me, and annoyed me more now that they asked me to recap my experience for their survey, was my issues with parking. To start, the new daily parking fee was a bit of a surprise and annoyance when I stayed this year because it was free when I stayed there last year over the same weekend. But then on top of that, I paid for a spot only to come back to the hotel with no spots available to me for 2/3 of my stay. Instead, I was told to park in the exit lane of the parking lot, essentially narrowing the exit lane by 50% for everyone else.I think they sold parking passes equivalent to the number of spots they have, but they allowed a few govt trucks (unmarked, but clearly specialized govt trucks) the size of ambulances to take up more than one spot each as well as for those govt guests to fence off the back corner of the lot, which often reserved an open spot back there for their passenger van. I saw them eating breakfast a few times and from what I overheard they werent like FBI or anything like that, but it wasnt clear what exactly they were nor why those trucks were there with one running 24x7 when the trucks never actually left the lot all weekend.Bottom line, they shouldnt allow oversized vehicles to park in their spots without paying for multiple spots nor allow them to fence off spots for themselves for later, and they probably shouldnt have been willing to charge me for parking if there werent actually spots left available and having me park in the exit lane.
We are from Calif. and planned to visit NYC. It is quite intimidating to think of driving in so friends suggested staying in Astoria. The shuttle takes you right to the train station less than a mile away. The process for getting tickets, etc was very easy. We ended up going in again the next day to see a play. Used TKTS right in Times Square for same day discount tickets. It was a fun experience to be in NYC. We took the Quality Tour - 5 hours in a nice coach and it included a 1-hour cruise on the Hudson. This hotels staff was SO very helpful and encouraging to us - you can do this! type of help. And it wasnt just one or two staff, everyone we encountered at this hotel was that way to us. And the restaurants are plentiful nearby, less than a 1/2 mile away. We felt safe here, loved the well lit parking lot and we would certainly stay there again. Thank you Fairfield Inn Astoria! (55357)(56842)
Horrible. Requested room cleaning 2 nights in a row and got nothing. Came back to the room from my fathers funeral and the room was piled high with my garbage BECAUSE I HAD TO ORDER IN EVERY DAY BECAUSE THEIR RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED. No coffee, no food, no room cleaning, no discount for this inconvenience, nothing. Typical NY work attitude of do nothing and expect everything. Never using that hotel or coming back to NY again. They are aholes!
I originally booked this hotel due to its location and my other Marriott I typically stay at in Brooklyn was booked. I was blown away by the service and friendliness of the staff at this Marriott! Maria was so very kind and helpful in giving me directions, suggestions for dining and arranging for my transport to my work in the morning. It was like having a mom there with me making sure I had everything I needed. The manager also helped me get copies for my meeting the next day when the business center computer wasnt talking to the printer, he allowed me to use his. Just above and beyond the call of duty. Every staff member I came in contact with was very kind, respectful and helpful. Reminded me of back when I worked at Disney. I highly recommend!
Since our son moved to Long Island City two years ago, this has been our hotel of choice. The rooms are a little small, but still a great value for the price. The front desk staff has always been very friendly and accommodating; the breakfast selection is a bit limited, but still plenty to eat. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in that area.
As a frequent business traveler I really enjoyed my stay at Fairfield Inn New York LaGuardia Airport. The staff was friendly and very helpful with questions about the area. You cant beat being able to take the shuttle to and from the airport (just leave yourself plenty of time during rush hours). Several restaurants deliver food directly to the hotel for free and the food is good and reasonably priced. The exercise room was great. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located. There is a nice Dunkin Donuts just a 2-minute block away and plenty of gas stations are in the area. The wi-fi was perfect-no issues at all. This hotel is a nice little gem of an oasis in the middle of a very busy place. I am already looking forward to my next scheduled stays.
Excellent overnight stay. Very comfortable, clean, and has breakfast from 5-9:30. Took the shuttle from the airport. Pro tip: to take a shuttle from the airport for free, call the hotel, make a reservation, and on the same call ask the shuttle to pick you up. Not very clear, but you call for the shuttle.
For the past several years my husband and I have needed to stay in Astoria to visit family. We tried several hotels in the area and then settled on the Fairfield Inn. From my observation there is very little turnover of staff. We are consistently greeted and well-treated by the same friendly people. The free parking and breakfast in this quiet hotel make it very homelike. Its an easy walk to all the restaurants and shops in Astoria and not far at all from the subway and LaGuardia Airport.
We were in Astoria for a funeral. This hotel was very close to every thing we had to do. It had a free parking, we felt very safe, and was very close to the airport. Although the rooms are small, they are comfortable. The breakfast adequate and the staff was very nice. We will stay there again. (The free ride to the train stop was also awesome!)
Overall excellent stay. Quiet and clean place to stay. Friendly staff. I got a call to my room after i had checked in maybe half an hour in--from the front desk simply to ask if i found everything ok and if i needed anything.Only thing i would say is not a huge amount of parking, but parking is free. Not a huge hotel, so that would explain it.I would recommend to others.
The location was convenient to accessing the subway and getting downtown and having the shuttle to the subway helps a lot. The bed offered a very comfortable sleep. There was always more than enough to eat at breakfast; but some non-pork breakfast meat would have bee great. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
We had personal and business agendas in Astoria and this location along with the included breakfast reduced our stress. I have stayed here before for the same reasons, and I highly recommend this hotel. it is clean and very efficient. The only small issue this time was a faint mold smell close to the bathroom sink which I included in my survey to the hotel, so I trust they will attend to it.
I recently spent 3 nights at the Fairfield Inn in Astoria (10/4/2012 - 10/7/2012). It was my first stay in New York it was also my significant others birthday gift. The staff at Fairfield Inn made sure that our stay was easy and comfortable. They were extremely kind, customer service was amazing. The front desk women were always friendly and gave great advice. The shuttle drivers were prompt and accommodating. The house keeping was on point and assessed our needs quickly. They went above and beyond when I accidentally left my laptop in our room and I was already at La Guardia Airport. Stephanie at the front desk, house keeping and the drivers made sure to gather it and get it to me within 15 minutes after I called. I could not have been anymore impressed and grateful. We had an unforgettable time and we will be sure to stay at the Fairfield Inn each time we are in New York! If youre looking for a place to stay this place exceeds the five star rating! They are superb!!!Samantha Toledo
I had a very good time in Fair Field at LaGaurdia. The front desk guys are really supportive and helpful. My mom forgot the purse in the restroom and we left to the airport which has Passports in it. The moment when we realized that we forgot our purse at restroom I called them the way they responded stole my heart. The lady in the night shift is awesome girl, she arranged shuttle for us when returning at late night. The gent in the day shift helped us with the attractions I can go and arranged shuttle to subway. Double thumbsup to the front desk guys. I strongly recommend to my friends and colleagues to stay.
If you need a place to stay when you go the the US Open, this is the place to stay! The staff was very friendly and the hotel very clean! The shuttle service was EXCELLENT!!! They had FREE shuttle service to and from the LGA airport, subway, and Us Open, which made it so easy for us to do everything we wanted to do. We went to Time square to eat and see a play one day, and the US Open, the next day! Thanks for providing that service, we really did appreciate it! Great Stay!
The hotel itself is great. But the Parking situation is terrible. Stayed 3 nights and never got to park inside the lot and had to go out for 30 mins and find parking very far. The last thing you want to do after a tiresome day is spend 30 minutes looking for parking then walking far to get to the hotel. They issue you a parking decal to park in the lot, but nobody uses it, so Im im doubt if all the cars in the lot are from the people staying at the hotel and if people staying are using more than one car per room. So thats my only complaint.
I have stayed at the Fairfield Inn New York Laguardia Airport/Astoria on numerous occasions. I have always found the staff to be professional, helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The hotel itself is very clean; great housekeeping services. There are numerous restaurants that offer delivery services plus there are snacks and drinks available for purchase in the lobby. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.
Very unprofessional hotel. Maria, the front desk receptionist was the only friendly and professional individual. THE NIGHT CREW WAS HORRIBLE. Everyone was on their phones and on facebook in the lobby while at work! The staff was even having phone conversations through Bluetooth devices and this is from the front desk receptionist to shuttle drive, even maintenance guy. Angelina was rude and showed no empathy when she was made aware of our heater being broke. She stated, oh well the manager Christine will have to deal with it when she gets here in the morning. I was offered a refund and now all of a sudden, no one can accommodate it. The next day, Karen who is also an evening receptionist didnt greet any customers and instead walked out of the cameras view to play on her phone. We always travel and this is by far one of the worse hotels we have ever visit. CHRISTINE, ANGELINA, KAREN, MAINTENANCE GUY, SHUTTLE DRIVE, AND HOTEL AS A WHOLE......YOU FAILED US AS CUSTOMERS!!!!!
We flew to LaGuardia Airport to meet our son and grandson, spend a day in New York City, and then depart a day later from JFK Airport for an overseas trip. The shuttle service pickup from LGA was timely, both for us and for our son and grandson, who arrived separately. The check-in was efficient. The hotel provided shuttle service to the nearest train/subway station to enable us to spend a day in Manhattan, and again provided shuttle service to pick us up at the conclusion of the day. The hotel was clean, and the room was clean. The price was likely more than were accustomed to paying, but considering the fact that this was New York, it was very good.
We came in late at night and the hotel staff was very helpful in sending the van to get us at the airport. Check-in was quick. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a nice variety and the hotel gave us a ride to the subway station, which was a huge help in getting to the city.

2022-03-05This was not a good visit at this MARRIOTT location. I stayed one night using 20000 points plus 3.50 for NY fees. Then, this property held 150.00 incidentals on my card. The lady that checked me in told a lie before knowing that Im a titanium member with the brand. She later had to retract her lie. Its nowhere in the hotel stating this property holds $150. The next day, I had to catch a plane. I called and let them know I needed the shuttle. The girl at the front desk states the shuttle runs from 600a-1230 and picks back up at 530pm. Its nowhere in the hotel letting customers know what time the shuttle runs. My flight left at 530pm. This place is horrible. MARRIOTT needs to have all properties on one accord. Im personally tired of dealing with this kind of stuff and poor customer service. I spend too much money a year to deal with this. I will take my business elsewhere. I only stay with the brand for the perks. But Im at a place where I dont care about the perks; its not worth it. I will also say the foreign owners and workers are the worst to deal with. Im just about over doing business with all of the MARRIOTT properties.

2021-12-27Pretty good location, you can basically walk about 20 minutes to coffee shops and restaurants. There is plenty of places to venture out to eat from this location. The hotel does charge $25 a day for parking. There is parking available on the street but depending on what day you are there and parking signs you may need to move your car often. Room seemed clean and up to date. Our room did not have a fridge or microwave, and the bedroom was slightly smaller than expected. Not sure if all rooms on the 4th floor are like that. But I would ask beforehand.

2021-08-17This hotel was a quick drive from our daughter’s apartment. The location is convenient and hotel is clean and maintained. The rooms are modern and well designed. Front desk staff was helpful. We could hear traffic noise from nearby highway, but it’s NYC, so I guess that’s to be expected. We really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. There is a $25 charge for parking and a limited number of spots. We paid the parking fee and hung the cardboard parking tag from our car’s rear view mirror. When we went out to the parking lot the next morning, there were multiple cars with a bright green sticker on their window and yellow boot on back tire. I’m sure a tow truck was coming soon. If you are parking here, pay the $25 at check in!The area around the hotel is industrial and not very walker friendly. Plan your meals elsewhere in Astoria. In spite of the flaws, we generally enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

2021-11-21Very nice hotel, clean, typical breakfast. The only reason it didnt get 5, was that there are basement rooms. NYC in winter makes for a cold day anyways, but even colder when your room is below the ground. So request a room on the 1st floor or above. Otherwise great place and great price.

2021-09-04Upon arrival, a supposed doorman put our bags on a trolley to bring them into the lobby. For some reason, he decided to put them on it right side up, with the wheels on the platform of the trolley. Upon moving the unit, all the bags promptly rolled off onto the floor! Genius in action. When we opened the door to our room, we were greeted by the stench of a smoke-filled room, although this hotel is supposedly 100% Non-smoking. When I complained to the lobby staff upon checkout, she said, Im sorry about that....Oh, is that the best Marriott can do in a situation like that? Im not impressed in the least, and will be avoiding Marriott hotels in the future. I had to ask the lobby staff for SOAP and a WASHCLOTH, which werent in the room! Unbelievable! My last comment is about the breakfast. The food itself was standard and nothing special, but acceptable. However, upon the stroke of 10AM, the staff started stripping the serving tables of items, beginning with the COFFEE!! How ridiculous is that? I asked the woman about that, and she said, The boss wants everything cleaned up at 10. Wouldnt it be more reasonable to start with the hot food items, and end with coffee, the item most likely to be consumed after the food is removed? Management is obviously clueless, and your hotel will certainly suffer for it. I wont be there again, thats for certain.

2021-08-22During my stay, I was welcomed with a smile. The front desk attendant and breakfast manager went out of their way to give me a breakfast plate after I missed the buffet by 15 minutes. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I definitely recommend
