Fairfield Inn by Marriott New York ManhattanFinancial District in New York
Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. They compare countless booking web sites and usually will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! Youre welcome :)! This place is the best rated in this area. I have been coming here for years. If you choose this place you definitely wont regret it.We had an incredible time. Our room was a bit small but it was clean and cozy, our bed was quite big. Breakfast was on point and the staff were friendly and organised.
I stayed here for 1 night to take an online examination. I requested a room in the quietest part of the hotel. I booked a twin room and was upgraded for free. Big thanks to George at the front desk for taking my call and answering all my queries with patience. Ive stayed at a Fairfield before for an online examination and that experience was excellent but this one was just good. I arrived early and was able to check in early. Started my exam and housekeeping was noisy for a minute or so talking very loudly with other staff members. I was distracted but I cannot really fault them for it because they had no way of knowing. I used the standard wifi (did not upgrade to the enhanced wifi) and was able to complete my exam without any lag at all. I also used the wifi on my phone and had no trouble with it.The room was clean, bed and pillows were comfy, bathroom was spacious, loads of towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. I wish they provided lotion too because I didnt have it with me as other Fairfield/Springhill hotels provide it. The room had coffee maker and 2 coffee kits (I wish they gave a kettle with some tea bags but that is sadly not to be found in this country) 2 250 ml bottles of water. I picked up bottles of water from the reception for free and you can drink NYC tap water without any issues. Next morning the breakfast spread was pretty good for Covid times, but they were slow in refilling items. I was there for 30 minutes or so and no one refilled the bagels, croissants and yoghurts.I walked to Chinatown from this hotel and it took me 15 minutes. Subway/metro is close by, buses are close by.PS - I booked directly through their website and 2 days before my check in, the prices went down by 20-30 USD. I was able to call the front desk and get a price adjustment without any fuss.
Good stay and service, was provided complimentary bottled water in check-in and room. Its normal small rooms in Manhattan, but tighter here than a holiday inn in FIDI as barely can move a desk chair back!Otherwise plenty of outlets, somewhat long waits at elevator, and can get a bit loud with street traffic.
My wife and I stayed for 20 nights because the apartment we were moving in to wasn’t available until June 1. As a result we had to pay almost $5k. Unfortunately our stay was not the best due to a near constant smell of cigarette smoke which came in to the room whenever we wanted to use the AC, which due to the heat in May is often! Whenever we complained to the front desk they simply said this is a non smoking facility and didnt seem to care at all. Very disappointing. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the cleaning staff and their manager is stellar. Beyond that truly disappointed for the lack of customer service for the cost.
Horrible. Stayed 5x over 3 months for work. Valet takes an hour to bring your car 2 blocks. Brought wrong car once and ran over a curb and flattened my tire (thank God for cameras!!). Breakfast is a frenzied mess. Coffee is never available. Theres no service elevator so be prepared for long waits for laundry and engineering staff. Lots of Marijuana smells - I dont really care except u dont want to smell like it going to work. Wifi is a JOKE. Rooms are not king beds. Front desk is the biggest joke of all. Rude, inexperienced, unhelpful. There are tons of hotels in this area. STAY AWAY.
Watch your credit card! I booked a fully flexible rate with no prepayment for January 2023 and was charged for my stay in full a few months after making my reservation (June)Could not get a hold of a manager (claimed there wasnt one at around noon on a Friday), and their accounting department did not even respond until I initiated a chargeback. Even then, they claimed it was a cancellation fee that they were refunding. I sought clarity and havent received it.If youre going to stay here, watch your credit card statement.
Would not recommend the three people bedroom suite it has barely any room for three people and definitely not enough necessities like one makeup wipe what is that suppose to do and the only garbage can was in the bathroom definitely recommend getting a bigger and better bedroom
Run down deffently not anything like their website claims Do not expect the exeperience the we sidte claims. luggage check is scarry I got a luggage tag then my bags were placed in a pile in the corner in public access. I when I returned to get my bags the pile was bigger the desk clerk asked if I saw my bags I dug through the pile they were not there she then said follow me she opened a closet and asked what bags were mine I pointed them out and the she said I could grab them with out verifying claim ticket. On the small side but many hotels in NY are room was clean but run down iron burn marks o. The furniture, ironing board bent to hell tub did not drain which the did fix once I reported it. No real store around to grab snacks.
If you complain about everything I suggest you move along... 10 days I stayed here it was awesome my 11yo and 14yo and I had NO issues with wifi NO issues with breakfast at 7AM NO issues with baggage or rooms, beds were a tad small had the double bed corner veiw 9th floor was awesome 😁 Huge shower had mini fridge didnt use coffee maker outside noise was minimum had loud guests next door for 1 dayGREAT walking distance to river running paths, peirs with beautiful sites 10min to Brooklyn bridge, world trade memorial all different kinds of famous downtown NYC foods and shops ! Overall I give this place an 8 close to 8.5 ⭐️👌🏽
I stayed here for 9 nights, and I can not regret it more. They charged me for breakfast and there is no breakfast because of covid 19. The wifi is only for chats and messages. If you want to load anything else such as instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. You will have to pay extra every day. This property is not a hotel, I have stayed at 1 star hotels and you can tell the difference.I will list below many of the reasons not to stay in here.- rude staff- no room service- no breakfast- limited wifi, if you want better wifi you have to pay daily for it.- no cleaning service unless requested 2 days prior minimum.- the property has basically 0 services besides giving you the key to go to your room.Good things:- the staff offered to keep my bags safe in a room while I had to wait for the check in and checkout times.- the staff gives you water (there is no water in the rooms)By the way, I left a pair of timberland boots by mistake and the hotel hasnt call back yet. Their cleaning service is mostly Chinese people and I believe they might of kept them, so sadly o lost a few hundred dollars on boots.
I don’t know how anyone would give this “hotel” anything more than 2 stars, it barely qualifies as a decent motel. The lobby decor makes it look like it’s under construction. The rooms are ridiculously small so you have no place to put a bag. There were 2 of us with 1 full size bag and each with a carry on and had no place to put them. The only place they could go was either in front of the door to the room or in the ridiculously small bathroom. The bathroom has a small single sink with little to no surface area to put anything. There is no place to sit other than on the bed. They do not clean the rooms on a daily basis and we had to ask for clean towels. They had conditioner in the bathroom but no shampoo and they had none at the front desk, which boggles the mind, and only a tiny bar of soap. It might, might suffice for a single person on a short stay who was never going to be in the room. The only ice or vending machines is on the 2nd floor. The website advertises a free breakfast buffet but that breakfast consists of hard boiled eggs, turkey sausage, store bought pre-packaged Jimmy Dean English muffins with egg and cheese, mini waffles that you have to make yourself, some pastries and coffee. It was nothing like the pictures of the breakfast they have in the dining area. The place was dirty and the elevators sounded like they were going to come crashing down at any moment. The best part of the room was the shower where someone had the great idea to put the shower head on the opposite wall from you turn the water on. I can not in good conscience recommend this hotel for anyone.
My daughter and I visited NYC for three nights and stayed in the Financial District. The room was VERY small ....it was difficult for her and I to move throughout the room. Only 1 elevator worked. We had a view of a wall. The staff was polite and helpful. I was pleased that there was a continental breakfast....although it was inconsistent from morning to morning. Hallway was very warm, but ac in room worked great. Location was okay.
If you are looking for an affordable hotel without any bells & whistles this is fine. The lobby & the room were clean. Like most NYC hotels, the rooms are small. There wasnt much walking room to get around the king size bed, and the desk chair would hit the bed when pulled out. We had a corner room which offered slightly more space than a friend who was in a regular room. The room includes a mini-fridge, but no safe or microwave. My Marriot Bonvoy App didnt update with my digital key until the night before we were checking out. The room keys usually took a few swipes/taps to unlock the door. The location on Front Street worked for where we wanted to be (were former NYers who came in to observe the 9/11 anniversary). We intended to be downtown & near the seaport. We know the area & that its a little sleepier on the weekends than other bustling areas of the city. If you are looking for something with a little more action in the area, choose a different neighborhood. We checked out on Monday AM and they were jackhammering the street directly outside the building early in the morning. Luckily that wasnt the case over the weekend. We valeted our car for the weekend and that process was easy.
My husband and I have stayed at this location several times over the years separately and with friends. We skipped our 2020 trip due to COVID. We were excited to get back to this hotel due to its location and the exceptional service we came to expect from Marriott. Our early check-in was smooth and the price was readjusted due to our original room booked not being ready. Again the check in was great! We wanted to use the gym and were told one person at a time. I think for couples that is not practical as we wanted to get our workout done by a certain time. I think you should rethink that policy when it comes to couples. The hotel needs a lot of TLC!! The rooms were clean but not the Marriott clean we have come to love, especially at this hotel. A king room with one set of towels for two adults was not ideal. The bathroom amenities were lacking. We have stayed here many times and have never had any issues with our rooms being properly stocked.Unsure what was going on with breakfast, bagels stale, eggs and protein were not edible. We noticed unfamiliar faces and figured that the hotel had a new food and beverage manager. Victor was the prior one and he was amazing. Always treated us like family. We understand due to COVID staff have moved on. The quality must have followed along with it. This is was a disappointing stay for my husband and I. We know you can do better.
The stay was good and room was clean - however, small. Dining quarters were tight, but the food was good. Lastly, Id prefer a better view. The location was epic though, as the Inn is adjacent to the South Street Seaport! I was able to walk around and feel at peace. Just wanted more space inside.
This hotel is located in a great location by South Street Seaport. However, it is a walk to the subway station. The room was small but comfortable. However, you definitely can hear the rooftop concerts nearby (I had to do my own google search to figure out this one). Thankfully they ended at 10pm. My biggest disappointment is that I am an elite Bonvoy member and felt like it didn’t even matter. I got a welcome package or points and had to negotiate a late check out by an hour only (mind you, when I check out on my phone, it said 2pm). I was told earlier by manager. Thought I get better perks.
The stay overall was not that bad. Decent, not great. Check-in and check-out was super smooth and easy. Second time in NYC and just wanted a clean place to lay our heads. The king room is pretty small, so we likely would not stay here again. Some of the floor near the window was sticky, so I had to clean that up myself with sanitizing wipes. Also saw and old bottle cap and tissue beside the nightstand and bed that was overlooked. The light near the door flickered during our stay, and completely went out at one point. No hand soap or microwave in the room. Bed was comfortable at least. Asked for a room with a view but was told they were all taken and most rooms don’t have much of a view due to construction of buildings.
We chose this hotel because it was very reasonably priced with a decent grab & go breakfast included, and was in a quieter area of downtown. The staff were all lovely, friendly & helpful. The rooms are small for two people - in true NYC fashion - but had everything you would need for a comfortable stay.
Overall, a good place to stay, however the breakfast fell way short. Coffee out, no rolls available to take back to room. If I wanted anything had to cook a waffle when I really only wanted a roll and cup of coffee. Dinning area was completely full with no seats available.
This was the WORST stay I have ever had at a Marriott hotel. I want to start off by saying, though, the staff that was onsite was AMAZING. Very friendly and courteous and the ONLY reason we didnt end our stay early and go to another hotel. Our room was TINY (room 1906). We literally had to walk sideways around the bed. We had no small fridge. We had a tiny closet. We had literally nowhere to store our luggage. The first night of our stay, we had NO SHEETS ON THE BED. I asked for sheets and was told there werent any. There also apparently was not a different room available. We had 2 towels and 1 washcloth. I asked for additional towels... nope. There werent any. We were told we couldnt have any housekeeping. There werent housekeepers. A luggage cart literally lived in our tiny hallway the entire stay. NO staff member ever removed it.Our sink kept clogging and water wouldnt drain. The 2nd night, our Air Conditioning broke and we had to sleep in a room that was 80 degrees. My in laws room (506) while very spacious, had a broken toilet paper holder, holes in the wall and was missing a smoke detector. Honestly, this stay has made me rethink using Marriott for my business travel and looking at other hotel chains.
The breakfast area it wasnt keep cleam during the breakfast. Thy havent any dairy free option for the coffee. The bathroom was dirty and out dated. ( The wallpaper was falling off in some areas. The fast internet was almost imposible to buy. We can heard everything. [Too loud) The shower curtain fell off while I was just closing it. We had to get a shower the last night without it. The host that did the check in was very rough and not kind or professional. We liked the other host that help us during our stay including the person that did our check out.
Very tiny room, reminds me of a bed in an RV. The lobby is run down and the breakfast ran out of everything quickly. For the life of me I couldn’t get real coffee, they would only provide decaf for my room every time I asked.I gave it more than one star because it was clean and quiet.
This isnt Marriott! Its a poorly maintained motel. I have stayed in Marriott hotels across the globe, being a gold member, I can vouch for my statement. The staff is unprofessional, they dont have enough staff, frustration is being poured out on customers. Their breakfast lounge is pathetic. Starts at 6:30 AM and closes by 8 AM because there would be nothing left for guests who come after 8 AM and they close it by 8:30 its annoying to see that there is nothing served in the dining section, I could only eat bananas, boiled eggs, and coffee!! I was really sad about booking Marriott this time, I could have booked soo many other cheaper hotels and had a luxurious breakfast for that extra money!! I have seen Marriott, and this particular stay isnt Marriott.Rooms: they said high rise city view for which I paid extra money, I asked her could she give one facing the coast, because the city view room given to me was really bad (room number 2505) even that was not accepted. Marriott always provided its gold member free two water bottles every day, but here they didnt!
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I travel nationally and internationally!!! Please dont stay here when you visit NYC. I am so disgusted and mad at myself for selecting this property. Cant believe they fall under the Marriott umbrella. 1. Was not a welcoming experience. Guy at front desk acted like I was bothering him. Not friendly at all. No welcome or enjoy your stay.2. I went to get something to eat when I came back he never acknowledged me....maybe I had on my invisible attire. 3. Television did have sound on most channels. I called the front desk about it. I was on hold over 10 minutes. Then I was told someone would come and check it for me. When he came I was listening to one of the few stations with sound. When he came in he said you said the TV doesnt have sound? Looking at me like I had 2 heads he said, you cant hear that?? It took everything in me not to go completely off!!!!! I said Im not deaf!! I can hear that, I said most channels. Then he checked, saw what I was talking about and messed with it a while. Then he said it must be the networks. Really!! Smh I said so no other people are complaining about this? He said no. I was so disgusted I said ok and he left.Customer service and problem solving is not in the staff at this hotel. If I wasnt so tired I would leave now!!! Glad I am only here for 1 night!!!RECOMMENDATION: NEVER STAY HERE!!!!
The staff was friendly and very thoughtful, after realizing we were there to celebrate my mothers birthday. They asked if it was okay to leave a bottle of wine in the room for her, they also wrote her a card. She was over the moon. The room was clean and the location is great.
Good place to hang your hat while in NYC. The rooms were small, even for Manhattan, but they were comfortable. The breakfast was underwhelming. One day during my stay breakfast was never put out, we were told we had coffee in our rooms, so they didnt make any. Staff was friendly, but the rooms were dated. My bathroom exhaust fan sounded like an airplane taking off when it worked. No housekeeping is provided, but for the price, it was worth the stay. Id stay there again. Just not expecting typical Marriott standards.
This place is great! A beautiful hotel with good customer service! As with most hotels in this area, rooms are not big but this one is laid out nice. It has two closets, 2 beds, a work station, fridge and roomy bathroom.I walked in and was immediately greeted by Trey. He was so helpful and kind! Id made a mistake on booking and helped me fix it right up.Let me repeat just to be clear. I dont want anyone to see the words mistake and assume it was the hotel. It certainly was not. If was all my fault. Instead of booking 1 room for 2 nights, I booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Ha.Anyway, Trey fixed it right up for me.They have Valet Parking, if Miguel is here, he will take good care of you and he deserves a good tip.Remember they have breakfast in the morning too!Close to the subway, Battery Park and the Statue of Liberty.
Staying in the financial district is a hidden gem, the express trains get you into the thick of things in 20 mins but you are out of the hustle and bustle to grab a good nights sleep. Never going to be the hotel for you if you want a suite with the a view of the skyline, but for the money we paid vs comfort, cleanliness etc we thought it was a bargain.
We had a long stay at Fairfield Inn for a visit to our son who lives in NY. The hotel was used mainly for sleeping and a simple breakfast, and it was choosen because its two blocks away from his home. When you stay more than two weeks in a hotel you find out the ups and downs about the place, and nothing represents better the ups than the health protocols adopted during covid-19 pandemic. Sensible use of resources was also on the upside. On the other side, cleanliness is the downside as the room was a bit dusty and the air conditioner needed an urgent cleaning. The staff was always very helpful.
The good: Convenient location, spotless bathroom, friendly DAY staff, no matter which room you’re in its a short walk to the elevator, inexpensive valet parking (considering where we were).I will preface the next part by saying that I was only staying for one night and opted not to change my room or notify the front desk about anything. If it had been a longer stay I would’ve given the hotel the opportunity to switch my room, so that should be kept in mind. The bad: Rooms are insanely small - smaller than my forced triple dorm room back in undergrad. All room furniture and bedding needs to be replaced. Desk looked liked it had been through a war. Half the plugs didn’t work. Bedding felt old and had some stains on it (that had been washed out - or attempted at least). And most importantly, I will NEVER stay here in the summer. The AC did absolutely nothing - we slept in high humidity, 80+ temperature in the room.Overall I would give this hotel one more opportunity - but the rate would have to be much lower than what I paid.
Arrived Saturday night and after being assured on Friday that valet parking was available 24/7 I arrived and was then told that valet was not available. Sent to another garage that charged me $20 more dollars a day, $60 total. I chose your hotel because it offered valet parking at a reasonable rate. I am disappointed that this happened. I feel that I should be compensated the $60 extra I had to spend to park. I feel that your company should have some sort of backup plan when your garage is full at the same rate that you charge instead of leaving your guests, especially out of towners, unfamiliar with the city left looking for garage at 11:00 at night.
The staff were friendly, helpful and nice. House keeping only comes once before your arrival to prepare the room. I requested additional towels and sheets which they quickly provided. The location was perfect to visit the South Street Seaport Pier 17, the One World Trade Center, as well as a 24 hour deli that was located one block from the hotel.
For the price we paid it was awesome. 6 minute walk from a subway station that will take you anywhere. We where barely in the room except to sleep so the small room didn’t bother us. Unfortunately if the whole family would have came we would have had to rent 2 rooms but 3 people fit in one room. The bathroom is a good size, shower is a good size. Parking was vallet cost $47 a day. Breakfast was bag and go. If you want to stay in the city but don’t want to be in the center of everything stay here. Felt very safe here. Also check out The Best of New York Food for good cake, breakfast, dinner and lunch for a good price.
I would have rated this place poor but I gave it a fair because the staff were incredibly nice and being so close to the water was great to. Our stay was ok but not at all what we expected. The sheets and pillowcases had stains. When I was given new pillowcases one of the new ones had like a blood stain on it. On the first night I got itchy from the thicker blanket on top I had to remove it and sleep with the thinner sheet. Overall, It could have been cleaner, the rooms are very small and you really don’t see much of you choose a room with a “view”.
The staff were very professional and kind. Check-in/check-out was seamless. Ive stayed here in the past so I enjoy the location - close proximity to the water, subway stations and many restaurants and shopping areas. Unfortunately d/t COIVD-19 rules/regulations a lot of amenities were unavailable. No access to gym nor breakfast, bar. I dont know if the shortage of staff was also a factor. My room floors were dirty (hair left everywhere), hair also in shower, furniture surfaces dusty, and main entry light was out. When I did complain about my floors a kind gentleman arrived with a vacuum. To address the light the front desk attendant reported that the electrician was not on duty. Overall if you need a quick place to stay in Manhattan I recommend this hotel, but if looking for a refined, relaxing getaway especially if this is your first time in NYC you may be left disappointed. Hopefully post COVID this hotel will return back to normal and be able to offer a higher quality of service to its customers.
I can’t say enough about the location of this hotel, so close to Pier 17, etc. It was very nice and clean. Our room wasn’t ready by 3 o’clock, but they upgraded us so we could get in on time. I love the floor to ceiling windows; and we had a corner room which made it extra nice!
The rudest staff I have ever come across and not the treatment I would expect being an Ambassador Elite member. The room was OK, I used an upgrade and still landed up in a room (with missing toiletries) which looked smaller than a regular room, just that it was on the 22nd floor still surrounded by buildings with No View. The Breakfast timings (for just handing out to-go packages) were ridiculous - 7 am to 9 am over a weekend, when I asked them to keep my package so that I could come and pick it up at a later time, the staff rudely refused citing strict 9 am deadline. Would definitely not stay again & would not recommend anyone else to stay at this hotel.
We get in and our room is clean on the surface but missing everything like sheets, garbage bags, and a moldy coffee maker. Next door a woman kept opening and closing her door all night for men, on the way to breakfast another woman said thanks youre the best on her way out a room. Breakfast was just a bunch of snacks and cereal. There is a hotel 2 blocks away that has real breakfast and a nicer environment for the family.
Hotel is dinge. Rooms are very outdated. Dont plan on a breakfast. Linens old and need replacing. Sheets were even too short for the bed!I made my reservation months in advanced and had requested and paid for Larger King upper Floor room. What I received was a small king lower floor room with a window looking out at 2 large noise vents! One of our wedding guest who was not a Marriott member got the 27th floor with a view! When I requested the front desk to reassign me a room that I had requested I was told all the rooms were the same which as we all know is not not the case!
Had our first weekend getaway since the pandemic and we had to return to NYC. This was our first time staying in the Financial district. The hotel was a great location. We walked to the Brooklyn Bridge, Battery Park and Little Italy. All places were a great walk from this clean and welcoming hotel.
Hotel was out of toiletries and blamed it on COVID, despite all of the other Marriott’s I’ve stayed at not having supply issues. I was staying at another property before this hotel, and returned just to get conditioner and lotion. TV gave me a No Signal message until the last day, when the next guest’s info popped up. Layers of dust on furniture. Went to make coffee and the one-cup machine was full of water from previous guests. Chose a Marriott property for 4 PM late checkout and was told I had to be out by 2 PM. Upgrades weren’t available (I didn’t mind, but if you’re expecting one, don’t.) Loud live music every night and room was facing a solid wall that bounced the sound into my room. No hair dryer in the room. Other than points for the stay, nothing about this property aligned with other Marriott’s I’ve stayed at - from FiDi to California.
We visited NYC for an overnight and were very pleased. The staff allowed us to check-in early after a long red-eye flight. They were helpful and welcoming. At the end of our stay they kept our luggage secure while we were sightseeing. The location is perfect for traveling around lower Manhattan!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Fairfield inn. My husband and I traveled there to celebrate my birthday. We were really happy with our ability to get an early check in and the receptionists were very friendly and thoughtful throughout our 3 nights there. The rooms are small but were perfect for what we needed as we planned to be out touring most of the day/night . The location is great! we were close to the subway, it was a quieter street so it was also easy to get cabs/ubers. It was also easy to walk to a lot of sites The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch (you dont get that in many hotels in NYC) and I appreciated the soy milk for my coffee! I think the hotel could use a little update but overall we had an a good experience and would definitely stay again.
Very disappointed. The room is tiny, there are abt 4 sheets on the bed, the view is of a huge wall and you cant even tell what the weather is outside, the bar is not open at all, the tv is so dark you can hardly see the shows you cast to it, the staff seems annoyed. The location is nice but I would rather stay somewhere with a bit of room. There is soap, the shower works, but its depressing to come back to instead of relaxing. Just a stop not a good stay.
My husband and I traveled from out of state and booked this hotel because we were awarded a free night. We picked this location based off of the choices that was given to take advantage of the free night regarding how many points you were not to go over (35000).The pros of staying at this location was the staff was friendly and nice and I don’t mean the reception I’m referring to the security guy who spoke to us after we received our key and said hello welcome, and also that is close to the FDR and the Brooklyn Bridge. The Cons of staying at this location is the reception was so cold and robotic as in may I help you, your name, ID and a card for incidentals, then she passed me a piece of paper and said the revolving doors closes at 9:00 so you would have to use the side door. (Talk about a greeting I felt unwanted)The room smelled like old mildew and it was so small you felt like you were being packed in like a sardine The bathroom sink was so small with many counter space to put anything on to get ready,
Good location, Rooms are small , water is hot, bed is comfortable. breakfast is a small box of cherrios, apple sauce, muffin and small bottle of milk. Like to give thanks to all the staff at this hotel. Thanks, to trey and the manager. To help me find transportation back to the airport...
The front desk staff is very nice, however the service at this hotel is horrible. You have to go to the front desk and ask for everything that should have been already in the room at checking such as towels, hands towels, toilet paper, small bar of soap, garbage bag etc.. The sheets have stains and the room is moldy.
Breakfast was so inadequate that we ate somewhere else. Housekeeping occurred only once for 4 days. We had to go to the taxi stand or call Uber, because reception could not call a cab.Room condition was too noisy.Otherwise, all OK. The staff members were friendly and helpful.
There were no sheets on the bed. Just a paper thin duvet covering an old mattress protector. The front desk staff told us housekeeping must have forgotten and wed have to put the sheets on the bed ourselves, and then it took over an hour and 2 phone calls to get sheets brought up. The staff was not apologetic, they were not friendly or helpful. Ive stayed at plenty of Marriott Hotels before and this one is the worst.
The hotel did not have sanitizer in common places. People were supposed to wear mask and the staff did not ask them to put one on. There were no signs to wear mask or remind people to socially distant themselves. They ran out of food items. The breakfast area did not have hand sanitizer and serving utensils at times. People with dirty hands reached in the cutlery bin, which the items were not individually wrapped. Someone came from outside and picked up a fork in the kitchenette. It was shocking, because you have no idea where there hands have been. People did whatever they wanted because there are no restrictions or safeguards in place. The room appeared clean but if you look closely in the corners of the furniture, you will find food or trash. I can say that the staff was friendly and helpful.
Although the hotel is new and clean, the staff is not experienced, andrules are too rigid to accommodate a variety of guests. Examples include: not allowing an “opt-out” from a mediocre breakfast; cuttingoff access to breakfast items by 9 a.m., failing to apologize for unauthorized entrance to rooms by staff, and giving misleading instructions to guests about fire drills.
It’s a non smoking hotel. Yet our room smelled like cigarettes. In the morning we realized someone was smoking from the next room and all of the smell came in our room. Meanwhile, I was there with my children. We didn’t mention it as we left early and got another hotel for the next night.
I was put in a tiny corner room and the guest next to me was having a audible existential crisis. Then I found many problems with my room including ripped shower curtain, insecure sink faucet, A/C wouldnt turn on and the room stayed at 78° and also found a very large hair ball attached to my foot that wasnt mine. The front desk sent someone up to confirm the A/C wouldnt kick on and said theyd let them know so I could transfer rooms. Twenty minutes went by with no follow-up so I had to call down again to confirm if I was being moved. They were able to move me which I was very grateful for but was not compensated in any other way. I had to keep restarting the A/C in the new room as well as the cool would keep turning off and just blowing out air.
Hotel needs to be updated/remodeled. I very much enjoyed the bed, linens smelled good, and cozy medium fluff pillows. The room was tiny. The shower was great. Vending machine is cash only. Front desk was not particularly friendly. We were at first assigned a room that we came to find was not turned over. I found that to be a big mistake to have us enter into an unsanitary, uncleaned room considering covid.
Our experience was excellent! Our room was very neat and tidy and house keeping did a great job all 5 days we were there. The front desk staff was also awesome and so helpful with instructions and directions (since we were tourists). The complimentary breakfast was also great. There was plenty of varienty that I ate something different every day for 5 days. The hotel also made additional effort by setting out snacks every afternoon and one day they even set out a hot cocoa bar which was wonderful. Thank you for the awesome experience!
Excellent service during the start of New York shutting down, we had grab and go breakfast provided daily and our rooms were also refreshed daily. Everywhere is very clean. We had a quiet stay but I imagine the entrance to the lifts could get crowded during busier times as area small. Once we found our bearings we enjoyed walking along the river front that is just behind the hotel towards the seaport terminal for Statten Island, here we could also get on the subway easily.
The room was clean and the hotel was quiet. Nothing really wrong aside from the room being super small, and it gave me Bates Motel vibes. Ok, for one person doing a quick in-and-out business trip, but definitely not recommended for long-term stays, couples, families, etc.
Immediately after me and my girlfriend walked into the hotel room, we were hit with this terrible odor as if someone with B/O had just been in the room. We thought the smell would go away but it lingered the entire duration of our stay. After sleeping in the the bed I realized that the smell was strongest on the top sheet (comforter) of the bed. Which tells me that these are probably not cleaned to the best extent. There was also left over trash in the room from someone else’s trip that was overlooked. All in all I wouldn’t stay here again simply off of the fact of the dirtiness but the customer service could have also been better. Everyone there just seemed to be there to get a paycheck not to actually make our stay comfortable.
The hotel staff was very courteous and kind. Rooms were a bit small but clean and designed well. Thats to be expected in NYC of course. There were lots of outlets for devices and the room fridge worked really well. The beds are comfortable. The location was very convenient to transportation and the neighborhood is very safe. Lots of eating and shopping options in the area. Overall a great value
My stay started nicely until housekeeping throw away very important documents thinking it was trash ! How can you trash someone letter ! Never happened to me before . The fact that there’s no microwave in the room every time you have to go to the lobby to heat your food for drinks is kind of annoying in my opinion. Staffs is nice but still need improvement!
The room was alright. It was small but were a family of four with a few bags each so it was a tight squeeze. Definitely doable though. Bathroom was good size but needed more large towels. There was a broken lamp on the desk which probably shouldve been noticed by housekeeping. The free breakfast was good and had a great selection of food. Staff was ok. Overall, we didnt experience anything that negatively impacted our stay.
The location was convenient, about 8 minutes to subway station. Roomkeeping was very good, they made our bed everyday, brought us the extra towels when we asked and keep renewing them as well. Our room was looking at the building next to the hotel and the room was always dark, making it hard to wake up in the morning even when the sky is clear. The breakfast service was not ideal, partially because of the crowd but the food was not delivered unless we asked for it.
Charged twice for a deposit which I was never compensated for. No room service, emptied my own trash and had to use my same toiletries for 5 days. Continental breakfast was just a fruit cup, cereal and a muffin in a paper bag. Light in room did not work. Do NOT recommend.
I stayed at this hotel in mid March 2019. Overall, my stay was great. The hotel staff is quick, friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was pretty decent... my only complaint was the sausage. It was put in water and was very rubbery. But the waffles were amazing! They also have a great bartender who works at night, so you can grab a quick drink before you go upstairs. The rooms were pretty small, but they were clean, the beds are comfortable, and the price was really good. The location is great... youre right next to the water in the financial district. There is subway access and Chinatown, Little Italy and Brooklyn really close.I would definitely stay here again!
My stay was very comforting. The staff was professional, courteous and very accommodating during difficult times that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused. Its so easy for people to complain because of what things we use to be able to safely enjoy. Understanding and compassion goes further then negativity.
We had a VERY bad experience here. The desk was not friendly at all, very rude, very bad customer service. There is NO laundry room although it was stated that there was on the app. We also recieved a QUEEN bed when we booked a KING bed. The breakfast was also a terrible experience, they give you what looks to a be a SCHOOL LUNCH and its on the go so we couldnt even enjoy our breakfast there. Would not come here again. Ever.
We just stayed here for a second time - once on our honeymoon and now this time for our anniversary. This is a PERFECT hotel for 1-2 people. Not a chance in hell you would be comfortable with kids in the room. The rooms are admittedly a little small but;a) what are you really doing there other than sleeping?B) theyre always super clean and that helps them feel less smallC) The staff is friendly, breakfast is good, elevators are fast - all that helps make up for room size. Its a great value for a room in Manhattan, its right across from the water so its pretty (pics from the pier included). Its near a great little neighborhood for walking and finding places to eat.The downside is that you will spend a good bit on Uber/Taxis if youre trying to get up town. Its really quiet though because everyone leaves that part of town when work is over. There are goods and bads so you should know before you go - BUT bottom line is that its a really nice, comfortable, hotel for couples or individuals - we would definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend it to you!
Just stayed here from Saturday till this morning and I will say I am highly pleased with the front desk staff. I believe the woman whom worked at the front desk is named Marissa but if I am wrong I am so sorry. She is amazing ! Let me just say from check in to check out, she gave us amazing service. Due to the heavy snow storm this week we were snowed in which made it more cozier. We appreciated the accommodations that were made for us due to noise on one floor and most importantly for lending us a snow shovel for us to be able to shovel out our car. Marissa thank you! We will definitely be returning and booking more rooms!Your guest this weekend at 1406 ! :)
The staff is nice and accommodating, however, the hotel could be maintained better as far as cleanliness. There was poop on one of the hand rails in the elevators (that I unfortunately touched when I grabbed the rail). The staff did have it cleaned once told about it, however it didn’t look like the elevators were cleaned on a regular basis considering how busy the elevators were during our stay. Some of the tiles were cracked or chipped in lobby area. Just a few cosmetic things and cleaning/awareness that could have made it better. The financial district area is really nice however the hotel could do more to make the hotel look nice outside. It look a little dingy. This review is not about the professionalism of the staff at all, they were great.
I really liked the location of this hotel and the price was too bad. What I didn’t like was the gross shower upon arrival and I also noticed a stain on the sheets. The complimentary breakfast is milk (cow’s, no substitute or options), cereal, fruit cup, and a kid sized juice. Looked very much like it came from any NYC public school.
Love everything about my stay. We stayed in the Fairfield Inn by Marriott New York Manhattan/Financial District for 5 days weekend. We arrived early, and our room was not ready, but they were able to hold our luggage. The rooms are pretty small but clean, comfortable with good beds and clean sheets. We were on floor 7, and the hotel has more than 70 levels. The breakfast is included and delicious. Great location, walking distance from subway and major attractions like world trade center. The staff was friendly and kind people.
Our family group included 3 children and combined business and pleasure during a short trip to NYC. We found this hotel to be a great place to stay. The premises were clean and comfortable, and staff was friendly, helpful, and always available. The included hot breakfast was wonderful, and our experience was that staff worked hard to keep food replenished and hot. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
It was a very nice hotel. Good continental breakfast every morning and a partial bar open during the week. The room was a bit small, but I believe all rooms are in the area unless you pay an arm and a leg. It was perfect for our weekend getaway or for someones business trip. Highly recommended!
The location of the hotel was great. I booked this hotel because it was cheap and close to the East River side. I love running and this was an excellent spot to start my run up to the United Nations building. The hotel itself was okay. Very noisy as I was sleeping next to a machine room. If I woud have been there for business I would have been annoyed. The breakfast was not okay. A lot of stuff was not available and you could tell very cheap and not very healthy food. Service was great, the personnel very friendly.
It was our second stay at the Fairfield Hotel, and we were more than happy to return to this wonderfult hotel. Upon registration, we inquired if we could get a room on a higher floor with a nice view because we came to NY to spend our honeymoon. Not only were we given a room on the 29th floor with a great view, the hotel staff also made a beautiful surpise for us: a bottle of sparkling wine, some tasty snacks, and two towel swans on the bed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has lots of tasty of choices. The hotel interior looks very nice, very modern and clean. That was a perfect second impression, and we will happily book the hotel once again on our next trip to NYC.
I enjoyed my time here. By far one of my favorite hotels thus far. The room was quite small, the bed took up the majority of the room but it was comfortable for my spouse and I. However, I wouldnt recommend it for families with small children. The décor was BEAUTIFUL! I loved the backdrop behind the bed. We didnt have the best view, however, being that I am a native New Yorker I did not mind it at all. The hotel staff were very pleasant. it was about 7 degrees outside and the hotel staff greeted us with hot chocolate, tea and coffee before even asking us about our reservations (which I thought was pretty nice of them). Room service was super cheap! It cost about the same amount as take out. The room was very clean. Overall, I enjoyed my stay!
The staff were quite friendly. I felt welcomed. The breakfast was a bit different the 3 days my boyfriend and I stayed. I like having different breakfast. The room was clean which I appreciate and it should. Room was cleaned each day and everything was replaced such as shampoo, body wash, toilet paper rolls, and towels. The room we stayed in was a bit small, but it was enough :) I also liked how each time we turned on the tv, it’d say welcome (insert my name). I definitely pay attention to how I’m treated as a guest when I stay at a hotel and I did feel welcomed and felt like the staff were quite friendly and respectful.
Really nice place to stay. We spent 4 nights here and everything was great. The complimentary breakfast is delicious and well stocked, everything that you need to be full of energy in the morning.Room was small but really clean and serviced very well each day of our stay.Definitely would recommend this hotel! The only thing that Im not gonna recommend its parking, its not from the hotel and man who is working there is rude and not friendly at all. So if you have a chance to find something better, just do it:) thank you!
We had a very pleasant stay at your hotel, thank you so much for the nice gesture for our anniversary, we loved it and we also left a review on YELP for your hotel. Your staff is very kind also and breakfast is great and the mini fridge is also a plus in our room! We loved staying here. The bed is very comfy, the room is clean and location is good! Will definitely stay here again and again! :)
Phenomenal customer service at this hotel. Most likely the best staff I have ever had in any hotel chain. From the moment we got there until we left the staff was so attentive, pleasant, and really made us feel like we were very important to them. For the staff alone we will be back. Our room was very small, but it was VERY clean and comfortable. The decorator is brilliant because they have it like a ship. Makes the tiny room feel like a cruise ship cabin. Brilliant. Breakfast was very nice too. Felt like a real kitchen, not just continental cold breakfast. Lots of variety and the staff kept it coming. Will definitely stay again just because of how well the staff treats you.
We had a really excellent stay at the Fairfield Inn and would recommend this hotel. Our room was spacious with a large comfy bed, high quality bathroom and excellent daily maid service. It’s in a great location - literally steps away from South Street Sea Port and with easy subway access to get wherever you need to go. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and took the trip over to Liberty Island and Ellis Island with starting points very close to the hotel.Inclusive breakfast is a bonus in NYC but the breakfast area is just too small and it was chaotic so we only used it once.Overall we had an excellent stay and would definitely use this hotel again.
NY rooms are small and expensive. Lets put that aside. Is it clean and in excellent repair? Yes. Are the people who work there intent on making your stay pleasant? Yes. After that, the rest is just personal details. The brand of iron and hair dryer, the kind of guest soap, the channels in the TV.... Those are personal preferences each traveler will need to judge for themself. But my impressions on my stay at this facility were absolutely influenced by a very clean room and facility and by a friendly courteous staff. My only reason for a 4 instead of 5 rating was that my room door was left open by the cleaning crew while I was out for the day. A mistake no doubt... It can happen at a fleabag hotel or at the Waldorf. They apologized and made efforts to show their sincerity. Thats what I appreciated. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.
We spent three nights here. Every single staff person we came in contact with at this hotel was friendly and helpful. The floors of the hotel were quiet and we got a good nights rest. The rooms are small but the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is updated and bright and each room has a refrigerator. The breakfast selections every morning were plentiful, oatmeal, eggs, meats, assorted bread/bagels, fruits, cereals, And Starbucks coffee available all day and evening! Great location; the Seaport area is convenient to Penn Station, Battery Park, 911 Memorial, the Hudson River is just a 1/2 block so water taxi to Brooklyn is easy. There are many good restaurants close by, II Brigante, Industry Kitchen, Paris Cafe.
Loved the location! So nice to walk around outside. Staff was friendly and courteous, the room was great for us, loved the smart TV that we could connect to our own subscriptions to watch at night before we went to bed. Included continental breakfast was really nice! Wish there were more spacious or more elevators for the 31 floors that they have in the building.
Staff was friendly and courteous. Typical size room for Manhattan. Beds not as comfortable as hoped, but great location to walk to the 911 Memorial, Brooklyn Bridge, South Seaport area, China Town and Little Italy. Not a bad walk to the subway for transportation. Never felt uncomfortable to be walking in the area at night. Expect a wait for elevators during morning breakfast service. Decent variety of free breakfast offerings.
Good location in the financial district. 24/7 convenience near by. Lobby could use an update. Room was nice but small. Only there for one night but felt kind of cramped in there. Clean. Front desk was able to hold my luggage for me because I had a meeting than ran after the check out time.
Went to NYC on a quick vacation over New Years Eve. Price was comparable to other properties and far enough away from Times Square that the rate didnt get insane on NYEve. Location is fine. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was a wall to wall king size bed. Very small. On the 28th floor - no view. We didnt spend much time in the room and we slept quite well, so it served its purpose. But I will look for a little more value for the $$ next time I go to NYC.
Space is always at a premium in NYC and nothing illustrated this better than the Fairfield Inn at the Financial District. The rooms can easily be described as a box. The room is so tight that pulling out the desk chair can be a challenge. There are no up gradable rooms they are all the same size. The location is convenient for business travel and the sleeping accommodations are good. Every room is the same with your eyes closed. Unfortunately, this location does not have on-premises dinning which is disappointing when you arrive late in the evening. Restaurants are easily within walking distance but late arrival business travel will leave you challenged for food. The elevators can be slow especially during the morning rush hour to leave the hotel. Staff is very polite and excellent, remembering your name during subsequent visits. Overall, its an adequate place to stay.
The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a good location and clean. the room with kingsize bed was a bit too small. however, the bathroom was big enough, but toilet brush and liquid soap were missing. the shower could have been cleaner. the breakfast was okay, unfortunately there was no topping (cold cuts, cheese, salad, tomato, cucumber) e.g. for the bagels. Plastic dishes and cutlery should be replaced by normal ones from an ecological point of view. Unfortunately my credit card was charged a higher amount than indicated in the bill (already listed with all taxes, without further costs). unfortunately no contact to the hotel via e-mail possible. this must be clearly improved.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 days, 3 nights and we had the BEST experience. We arrived at 12:30 pm and were able to check in early. It took all of 45 seconds to get us a room and get us sent on our way. The staff was incredibly friendly during the entire stay.LOVED the location of the hotel. Its kindof tucked away on a back street which makes it very quiet. Right along the water next to Brooklyn Bridge with tons of great places nearby.Yes, the rooms were small but very cute and everything was good quality. I really didnt mind the size and the bathroom was spacious. I appreciated the fridge as well.Complimentary breakfast was great, I loved the little coffee and tea bar that they kept open and stoked all day long. I liked that the lounge was also open to hang out in whenever. The hotel has snacks and drinks set out for their guests everyday as well. I loved that !! They also offered a nice cheap room service food option as well.Overall an amazing. experience in this place. I will definitely recommend to others and will stay again next time I visit NYC.
Pleasant check in. Lovely family room with 2 double beds on the corner of the building with decent views from the 7th floor. Huge shower which was lovely. The breakfast was ok, but the breakfast room is very small for the number of guests. A lot of people took their plates back to their rooms so it was very crowded. They took $20 off my card which still hasnt been returned. I dont like this policy and it wasnt explained. Most places just hold it rather than take it from your account. Perhaps they make money from the interest but not good. They will store your bags for you too for free which is a good service. Overall, very pleased with the stay.
Excellent hotel, excellent service, it has hot breakfast, cozy rooms, and a downstairs bar with happy hour! The rooms are about what youd expect from a Manhattan joint: theyre space-efficient. For one person its fine, for two people its cramped.Nevertheless, the rooms are cozy. Theyve got really nice beds, cable TV that can access your Netflix accounts, complimentary coffee and sweets all day, complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning, and a small gym. The staff is super friendly and they keep the place running smoothly. As for location - its about 20 minutes for all the cool locations in South Manhattan. Its perched in front of a (presumably) historic cobblestone road and next to the shore. Super convenient location.
The staff was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful which made our stay so easy and enjoyable. The location was really great! A lot of fun things to do/see within walking distance, close to subway stations, and walking distance to Little Italy for dinner. The price for a stay in NYC was fantastic.
Good views. A very Welcoming staff! They accommodated all of my needs and alleviated all concerns. Breakfast was included! However the rooms are VERY small. Again, this has nothing to do with the look and feel of this hotel. My guest and I enjoyed every feature, as well as the unique seaside design of this hotel.
My 7 year-old son and I took a weekend trip to NYC and stayed at the Fairfield Financial District. The location was excellent for ferries to the Statute of Liberty, Governors Island, Staten Island, and just views of the port. Its a block from South Street Seaport, as well as a cute playground and lots of restaurants. Walking along the water is lovely - and you can see helicopters taking off from the helo pad. Battery Park is a 10 minute walk and several subways lines are a short walk away. The hotel décor is a cute nautical theme. The rooms are clean and lovely. Bathroom was super clean with a large shower. The front desk and breakfast staff were very helpful. The free breakfast was great - lots of options (same as other Fairfields Ive stayed at) and had excellent Starbucks coffee. Id recommend this as a great hotel at a good price for a leisure trip to NYC.
The hotel check in and check out were very easy since we used our Marriott app. The room was a “King Bed” room, but it was pretty much a closet. The two of us had to shuffle around the space. The hallways and elevator are so dim that it’s slightly uncomfortable. The hallways are also TINY. I get it, it’s NYC. Which is why I’d expect the lighting to be better. Room decor is kind of dated, and none of our usb plugs worked. However, we only stayed one night so none of this bugged me too much. But if you are planning a longer stay, I might look elsewhere. The area around the hotel is quiet, even at night. As two women, we walked around and felt pretty safe (by city standards). If you’re driving, the hotel will tell you about a parking garage $32 a day BUT there is a outdoor lot that if I remember said $10 overnight. The free breakfast looked promising but it was so congested in the TINY “dinning room” that it was almost impossible to squeeze in and around for food. So I didn’t get to take advantage of that.
Our 3 day stay was excellent. From our check-in to check out we experienced such amazing service from all staff members, especially Amina. The room was very clean and tidy, as well as the hotel. Although the hotel/room were small, we didnt spend a lot of time there so it wasnt a problem. The location is great, but do expect to do a lot of walking.Overall we had a great time!
Everything was great. Staff was friendly and up beat. Location was perfect. Amenities and everything else lived up to the price. I had a great time at this hotel. The one and only thing I would reccomend is the room with the king size bed should be a bit bigger - but I understand why they are as small as they are.
I was in NYC visiting my son. The location of the hotel was great. The value for the size of the room and the amenities was fantastic. They had a great breakfast complete with hot and cold items that helped save some money while traveling. The staff was incredible. They were friendly and anticipated my needs. I will absolutely stay here again.
Very impressive quality for the price and location compared to other options in the area! Everything was clean, organized, well maintained, easy to access. Breakfast was delicious. Rooms were quiet and comfortable though small as expected. This did not bother us at all as we had everything we needed.
Overall the stay was great. The staff was amazing and very polite from the time we arrived until we left. The room was small (king room) but very clean. This hotel is about 30 minutes from Times Square but well worth the Uber ride ($20-30 one way), considering the city can be overwhelming. The evening bartender (Robert) was super accommodating from food suggestions to light conversation. The free breakfast was a great way to start a long tourist day and the evening donuts and continuous coffee and tea were perfect since it was cool the weekend we stayed in New York. Would definitely stay here again if I was ever to return to the Big Apple!
First time at this hotel. Very nice but as you come to expect with hotels in lower Manhattan the room was very small. Free breakfast was very good and the staff was very friendly. Close enough to the Brooklyn bridge so I took a morning walk jog to it. The hotel is off a major street so you dont have to wrestle through a lot of traffic to get picked up and dropped off. I will definitely return for my next New York trip.
I had to book a room last minute to attend an early morning meeting in the Wall Street area. I found this hotel to be perfect for my needs. Room was clean and quiet, bed was comfortable and breakfast was sufficient to get me ready for the next morning. Check in was quick and staff seemed efficient.
The hotel was very good with the room cleanliness and amenities, Front desk staff was exceptional in checking in and out of my stay and great in giving directions as well to and from hotel, I like the idea of having water and some snacks and fruits in their welcome desk. A nice 5 minute walk to the subway station and stores/restaurants all around. I just did not like the construction banging from the next building which is in the same level as my rooms floor which surprised me when I woke up in the morning. I should have been warned at least. Even when I asked to be away from the elevator in my profile, I was still given a room within a few steps from the elevator with no excuse or any statement. Shower water pressure was not strong enough and takes a little while to get warm or cold water. Breakfast area was so small to accommodate the people who checked in that time I was there and always running out on basics- eggs, bread, bacon and sausage and oats was so watery for the two days I was there. Guests have to wait for refills to be done even on the coffee. They only have one bread toaster on the first day and got a second unit after that but people has to wait still. I think hotel should also extend the weekday breakfast hours to more than 3 hours in situation like this. Overall it could have been better if staff are well prepared for this. I had high expectations for this hotel as this is located in the financial district in New York City aside from being a Marriott property.
We loved everything about our stay here. The rooms are average size for NYC and the bathroom was bigger/very clean which made up for the smaller rooms. The beds were comfy and the decor was nice. What really made the hotel stand out was the amazing staff! They made it a point to talk with us and make sure we were having a great day! They also sang happy birthday to me when I was checking out which was a great little touch! The hotel also held our bags all day for us on both our check in day and our check out day so we didnt have to carry them around the city, which was a great perk! We were afraid we would miss out on enjoying our last day in NYC since wed have to carry a bag around, but that wasnt the case!
Upon arrival, we noticed a candy wrapper was left on the desk from the previous occupant. Then as our stay went on, we discovered our bedsheets featured many dark brownish stains, the tv remote wasnt working, and on the last day, our toilet broke. When directed to use a public toilet on another floor, those were out of order. Finally, a key was given to another room to use that washroom. Overall, a very uncomfortable stay.
Pros-The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They were also accommodating. The bed was comfortable. The rooms were clean.Good for the price.Cons-The room was smaller than expected. Pictures were a bit misleading .The walls are thin.Breakfast options for gluten free or vegan guests quite limited.Too many flying bugs (gnats maybe) in the breakfast area.Construction so loud.Obstructed view from room, but fine if you have a busy itinerary.
Great hotel in a great location. I like the fact it is not in the middle of the city but is close to great bars and restaurants and subways. The hotel staff are good and look after you. You don’t have to think about where to go for breakfast every day and rooms are compact but modern and comfy.
The hotel is nice and very clean. The room was very small. We were in a king room and getting around the bed near the window was tight with just two people. That is the only negative though. Friendly helpful staff. Comfy bed. Good shower. Mini fridge and coffee in room, and in lobby too. We overslept so we didnt have breakfast there. It was very quiet too. The window faced a cement wall, so no view. We stayed one night and needed a clean place to sleep and shower at a reasonable price. We would stay again.
Fabulous location between the Seaport and Financial District. Downside is the lobby / elevator area can become very crowded during peak times. Its a narrow space that is designed and functions well, just too small for, especially when groups are coming or going. Rooms are small but function and clean. Staff attitudes vary widely from super friendly and helpful to clueless and borderline rude. That said, weve stayed here many times and will always consider it when we visit NYC.
I stayed here on business for a night and had a positive experience.-Rooms-A bit small, but mostly expected when staying in the city. The desk itself is small but functional. I wish there was better lighting in the room and on the desk in particular, it would make the desk a better environment to get stuff done otherwise it feels dark.-Location-Great location if you need to be anywhere in lower Manhattan. As of September 2017, there is significant construction going on around this hotel. There was a new skyscraper going up next door so some views will be blocked depending on your room.-Service-Great staff and service. The included breakfast has plenty of choices with hot food such as bacon and eggs.
Great location, Priced right, neat, freandly staff, breakfast is great, although they could add (potatoes maybe) free WiFi, they do not charge accommodation fee per night, only security deposit which I got it back when you do not trash the hotel. HouseKeeping is on point, great feeling to come back hotel room is cleaned and well replenished. I highly recommend Fairfield Hotel to everyone. Oh and for those of you that goes to the gym daily, they have well equipped fitness center with free towels and water. A++++++
This was the second time I stayed here and I had another great experience. The location is in a more quiet part of NYC (close to 9/11 memorial, brooklyn bridge). Staff were very friendly and accommodating (always greeting us, holding elevator doors for us, etc). My flight landed early in the morning and they gave my boyfriend and I no problems with early check in. The free breakfast was delicious in my opinion..I personally never expect much from a free breakfast and it was great. I recommend this hotel.
Room was clean and updated, I even took a bath which is very rare for me unless Ive scrubbed a tub myself. The maid was also very nice, although she didnt speak much English, she was accommodating. The TV is new and you can hook up an HDMI to it if you bring a console or anything else. There was no safe in my room, but I had a smaller suite. The complimentary breakfast was some of the best Ive had at a hotel, still not great but it was free and hearty. Most nights the staff left pastries or hot chocolate in the lobby for the holidays, they made coming back to my room a real treat.
We choose this hotel because it was recommended by friends who had a great stay. Even though it is in the financial district, we found it perfect for sightseeing too! The location is excellent! Right across from the Seaport area, easy walking distance to Battery park to go the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, restaurants and shops right up the road, short walk tothe 9-11 museum and subway into the city. The hotel is new looking, very clean and the staff were all fabulous! Included breakfast is hot and cold foods and delicious! Nice room and comfy beds! We will definitely come back again!
The staff at this hotel knows the definition of the word hospitality and they put that definition into action. There is nothing they wont do to make your stay more enjoyable. The facilities are great, the rooms are clean and nicely appointed. The showers are awesome! I think this hotel completely satisfies the value proposition. The location is good, although a little hard to find because it is definitely a building that is packed in tight amongst many others. Easy access to the 2/3 subway line at the Fulton Street or Wall Street stations.
This hotel is in Downtown New York. Its in a fabulous location close to the East River and the bars and restaurants. Its a short walk to Wall Street and The World Trade Centre plus close to Battery Park and access to The Staten Island Ferry and tours for Statue of liberty.Rooms are small but comfortable. There is water in the room each day which I found really useful. Free breakfast at this hotel offers a good start to the day.The check-in and check-out went very smoothly. When I return to New York I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent hotel! This was the perfect hotel for our 4 day stay in NYC, the beds were incredibly comfortable, breakfast was great and the staff were amazing! Little touches like a handwritten message on our first day and a smile from reception each morning made a big difference. We will definitely stay here again
Hotel was clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Room was large with all facilities. Enjoyed the breakfast which had lots of options. There was always coffee and water available which was great when we returned from a busy day.Good location - just a short walk to the subway or the quayside. Lots of new shops and a cinema within a 5 minute walk. From the outside the hotel does not look great due to the surrounding buildings and construction work, but it is a little haven.View from room was poor but that probably depends on which floor/side of the building the room is located.
The Fairfield Inn Hotel is ideally positioned for the Financial District /Seaport area. The hotel room (Double) is a nice size for New York. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the bathrooms are modern with super powerful showers. The most wonderful thing about this hotel is its staff, they go out of their way to help you with anything you need or want to know about. We had a bit of an issue with the rooms on arrival but the next day we were given the Double room which was amazing. There is alot of construction going on around and it can be very noisy. All of their staff are amazing but Victor who runs the Breakfast room and his staff go the extra mile. He has such a lovely friendly warm way about him, you feel like you have known him forever. I am vegan and he made sure he got vegan friendly waffles in for me and soya milk for my cereal and tea/coffee. I will miss your smiling face Victor but I will be back!! At the front desk Margarita and Rebecca were wonderfully kind to me on my birthday. Many thanks ladies, you are absolute stars. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Helpful and kind staff all round. Marriott should be proud of this small hotel and its lovely staff (too many to name but you are all special). I for one will be returning in the not too distant future.
Great location, comfortable room, accomodating for our need. The only problem was the street closures due to a fair. The hotel was inaccessible via vehicle. Which would have been nice to know had the website, or any of the staff we spoke with conveyed this tidbit of information ahead of time. Also, had to convince the day host to call parking and bring our vehicle instead of insist a 7 month pregnant woman carry 4 luggage bags to the off site parking garage.
The customer service was good. Like that there was breakfast and snacks during the daytime in lobby. Ill never stay here again due to the rooms are too small, its not an easy hotel to find, didnt care for the location and far away from mostly all the attractions in the city. This hotel is close to Brooklyn bridge it was too late to change once realize there were two other Fairfield Inn in Midtown area
We were greeted in a friendly manner and our check in was smooth. Staff were helpful with questions about the area and took care of a delay in room service quickly. The room was extremely clean, beds comfortable with a good shower. We had a nice view of the river and and some cool wallpaper in the room that was a blue map of New York City. The room was a bit small as we did not have room to put our suitcases out easily to reach our stuff. However, the rate was very reasonable and in line with the size of the room. The air conditioner was noisy, but was otherwise quiet. A bit far from midtown for a short walk, but close to 911 and other attractions. The subway is easy to use and you can reach about anywhere in Manhattan. I would highly recommend this hotel to others and stay here again!! I think this post indicated we were from Washington, but we are from the midwest.
I was in town for brief work and leisure time with family and booked a room. Everything was on point with regards to booking, check in, clean room, internet access etc. The only issue I had to a certain extent was the two elevators which can took a while at times but its understandable for a building with a lot of floors. Never the less, the hotel was a great place for the weekend and Ill be back.
The staff was very nice and helpful. As it is located by the seaport there is a nautical theme that carries over to the room design making it feel like a boat cabin. The room was compact but clean and comfortable. The breakfast area is well stocked. Would stay again and recommend to others.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were always cleaned, fresh sheets, towels and trash disposal. Hated the lamps but thats just me, I shouldve bought a lampshade or two to block the glare! The food was okay, simple, basic, had an undone waffle and cold omelet, that was fixable, no prob. The location was perfect, not to busy, close to Brooklyn Bridge, Wall street, subways, Staten Island, and Seaport District, shops and eateries. I didnt like not having a view. Instead our view was a white building with no windows. we really had to turn our heads to get a view of construction. I know its New York, small rooms and all but that was a bit ridiculous especially for the money we paid, At least give me a view of a building with windows and some cool architectural detailing I can admire while resting up to tackle the next round of sightseeing! something! Loved the area. Hotel was okay. Staff was great.
Great hotel in ideal location having stayed on Time Square Previously. Great local drinking/eating places - subway approx 5 min walk and my wife had the subway mastered in no time so travelling around was no problem. Room was small but this wasnt an issue just an observation - very clean, bathroom clean/shower was good & bed comfortable. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Staff were superb - very friendly/helpful and nothing was to much trouble.Made our stay memorable - would highly recommend!!!! (55357)(56397)(55357)(56832)
Great hotel to stay in. Rooms are small and there are only two elevators, but the whole hotel is clean, the breakfast service is great, and the staff is super friendly and professional! Theyre always willing to help the guests with everything and with a great attitude. The subway is 8-9 minutes away, accessible and easy to get to all the touristic places in NYC. The financial district zone (where the hotel is located) is clean and easy to walk through. I would definitively stay here again.
Nice hotel in a good location in Lower Manhattan. About 10 min walk to Fulton street subway for good access both uptown and over to Brooklyn. The room was tidy and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was really good and varied. Fast WiFi. USB chargers built into the lamp was neat for us travelers from outside the country. The only downside I found was that the AC fan was a little noisy and the breakfast area was crowded.
The hotel was in a nice location downtown. The suite was a decent size for NYC standards, and felt updated and modern. The view from the room was great, overlooking the river. The complementary breakfast had a very nice variety of food and was worth eating. We had an issue with the valet service, the attendant did not speak any English, and the front desk associate did not speak any Spanish. This caused a very long delay in retrieving our car at the end of the stay. We also had an issue where the suite bathroom was not cleaned prior to checkin and still had the previous guests wash cloths and towels in the room. This was rather disgusting and the hotel sent housekeeping to the room promptly to clean the entire suite.
Dont expect a warm welcome when you check in, but this is a good place to stay in lower Manhattan. Rooms are tiny of course, and the closet is too short to hang a womans dress. Bathroom and shower is spacious by comparison. Very clean and modern. Bed was super comfy, as in all Marriotts. Good wifi. Excellent breakfast with a lot of options, and I was greeted very warmly there.
After being vaccinated, we decided to visit the city and our daughter. The rooms in this Fairfield Inn are extremely small. We did not want housekeeping but requested someone to empty 2 small waste containers in the room. This was not done. Maybe, because of the pandemic, staffing was so low. There was only 1 person in the reception and even though there were hardly any hotel guests, he seemed stressed.
We stayed 3 nights in this hotel when moving to the city. A move to manhattan is so stressful and the staff at this hotel went above and beyond to help us. Everyone and i mean EVERYONE was beyond helpful, so kind, and willing to go the extra mile. When we initially got to our room our fridge wasn’t cold and didn’t seem to be working. I called the front desk and an engineer was at my door in less than 2 minutes. 5 minutes (in total) later i had a brand new fridge in my room. The complimentary breakfast is delicious and well stocked. The sitting area is a bit tight so get there early if you want a seat, otherwise ask one of the staff for a tray, which they will gladly get you and you can take it up to your room to eat.Our room was very clean and serviced very well each day of our stay. Updated bathrooms/room decor. If you have kids the hotel is right next to an amazing park. Literally steps away. Can’t go wrong with a stay here. Highly recommend.
The staff at this hotel goes above and beyond to make your stay remarkable. We visited New York to celebrate our sons birthday and the whole staff at Fairfield Inn Fidi got together and served him an ice cream cake, with candles included, and to top it all a wrapped gift with a card sign by all of them. My 6 year old was so excited to receive a remote control car! Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is great and all their staff is around replenishing everything. They even go to the tables to offer you more things. We used the valet parking for the fee stated at the website and it was great. We purchased tickets in the lobby for the Big Bus tour that you can board one block from the hotel so you can leave your car parked and enjoy New York stress free. When it was time to go home, our car was back at the hotel in minutes. If you are staying longer than your check out time, they are very kind to hold your bags until you are ready to go. We cant wait to be back!

2022-03-25I have read the latest reviews and I must admit that I was worried about what the stay at the hotel would be like. But in the end, it turned out, again, that the loudest are always the critics, who would like to have everything gilded and brought to their feet. The most negatives appeared between December and February - but there was a wave of omicron everywhere in the world and a huge number of employees were caught at home in quarantines, including their risky contacts. Our stay in March was already going well, at the reception always 1-2 employees, the rooms cleaned daily, at breakfast also 2 employees did a fantastic job. Breakfast was pleasant from 7 to 10 oclock, the staff tried to do their best. The selection was quite limited, but there was an effort to offer a slightly different combination each day. There were about cyclically 3 types of warm sandwiches, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, 2 types of omelette, bacon, turkey sausages. Every day there were waffles (need to make yourself from the dough machine), a selection of yogurts, some fruit, coffee and tea. Hot water and coffee in a thermos were then available throughout the day and night. A little advice for breakfast critics - yes, if you sleep by 9 oclock and come for breakfast at 9.30 - then you can expect that there will not be much to choose from. The best time is around 7:30, on Monday there is a delivery of food supplies, so the staff prepares everything a little later. And on Sunday, some supplies of food variants are already missing. Another piece of advice for critics - if something is missing, ask for it! I felt like I had a bad dream when the hot water ran out and half the dining room sat upset and waited for a miracle ... I was the only one who approached the staff and in 2 minutes a new batch of hot water was delivered. Sandwiches were missing, I asked for them, they were in a minute, tea was missing, I told the staff, they arranged immediately. Coffee was missing in the afternoon or evening, wasnt there a tea bag? I told the receptionist, and he immediately brought everything from the kitchen. Unlike the angry guests who came and left immediately when something was missing. They wont bother to tell anyone about it. As for the room - above standard NY size. I would be interested in the size of the suitcases, which according to some reviews do not fit into the room - we got 3 spread out on the ground. The hotel is in the downtown financial district. so somehow you cant expect anything other than a view from the window to the wall next door, or to the wall a bigger piece next door, or to the wall across the street. But its NY, not the Mexican Riviera with the necessary sunset views. Everything worked in the room, I agree that the heating is noisier, but you could get used to it. The advantage is that you can set any temperature at any time and not everything is centrally controlled as in other hotels. Overall, it was a very good destination - the weeks stay ran away quickly.

2022-07-05Excellent for a mid budget hotel. Nothing luxurious but perfectly fine. A minority of their rooms have a city view - if you can get one Id recommend it, otherwise you face a blank wall and the rooms can be a bit dark. Rooms are clean and not huge - I had a king bed room and there was very little room to walk around. But that was absolutely fine, and the bathroom is surprisingly spacious.Service was excellent, very accommodating. The breakfasts were also great - big thanks to the helpful staff. Id you like to be in midtown each day it can take a while to travel but the hotels area is also vibrant, yet refreshing calmer than most of manhattan, with both very new eateries as well as a few relics of a romantically dingy past too.Recommended!

2022-04-06Went back in October with my mom. It was my first time in NYC and I was concerned about the hotel especially because of location, room, etc. However, the hotel definitely eased my worries! When we arrived, the staff was friendly and even though things were limited due to covid, there were still quite a few amenities available! The bathroom was clean and well kept. The room was pretty small and although we asked for a sea-side view, we faced a building. But thats what one can expect in New York! The complimentary breakfast had the traditional foods, but it worked! And although the room wasnt as big as I wished, I loved my stay!Overall, if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel in the downtown area, this hotel is a great candidate!

2022-04-22I am a bit conflicted. For the price the room was small and had terrible views, but I can understand that NYC is expensive and that not everyone can get a view. We also stayed at the cachet boutique hotel which was cheaper and much nicer. The staff at reception was lovely and helpful however the staff at breakfast were awful! They screamed at a 13 year old for using a broken waffle machine (which was turned to the side to signal it didn’t work, not obvious). Breakfast was chaotic but decent. The room was a standard size and the AC worked well, the location is great. The mini fridge was not stocked.Ultimately I didn’t really mind because I spent most of my time visiting the city but wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

2022-06-26Great morning/afternoon staff! The night clerk was terrible, we asked for bottled water for the coffee pot and the clerk told us he didnt have any when there was a half a case behind him...he insisted we had to go buy water from the 7-11! Other than that, this place was stellar!!!! Beautiful rooms with a cool nautical theme, great location in the Seaport area. Very, very clean rooms. I cant say enough about this place!

2022-02-08My stay was very bad in that hotel,my room was facing a wall for another building and the alarm system worked during my sleep. The room was very narrow, the king bed can fit in the room without any more space the bath room was good.No room service every day you have to request them 24 hrs before and they didn’t came for one week during my stay.I paid more than 200 $ per day including breakfast but the food are very limited and some days they didn’t have coffee.

2022-04-10I am giving 2 stars because of the size of the room. The standard king size room is TINY. As soon as you walk in, that’s the room. There is no mini foyer like usual when you walk into most hotel rooms. The refrigerator was lukewarm. I am giving it two stars because the shower was nice, though it leaked water onto the bathroom floor, the staff were nice, and the location was super cute. I checked out early and would not stay here again.

2022-06-24We stayed in a standard twin guest room. This room would be adequate for one person. The room is about 12x10 with no room to set luggage anywhere. Also, there is only one USB port, so bring a power strip. The staff is nice and the breakfast a good deal, but do consider a bigger room for larger parties. Rates true three stars.

2022-01-30Even though the lobby personnel were very nice this review only applies to the actual hotel experience. The room was ok at least clean, however the wall outlets as well as the lamp one where a bit busted so our phones had issues getting charged. Breakfast was horrible and should be improved, people everywhere a mess and no food left by 8am (breakfast closed at 9am). The a/c heater because I went now during winter was extremely noisy! The sink was too small and the room overall could be improved. There also was marijuana smell all over the elevator and hallway.

2021-10-21I wasnt sure what to expect after reading several reviews, but contrary to the negative ones, our room was spotless and very nice. It was the size I would expect for a room with a king bed in NYC for the price we paid (AAA promotion). It was easy to drive to the hotel, and the valet parking was a breeze and a welcome relief to my husband who was anxious about driving in the city. The hotel lobby was nice and attractive. Breakfast was as expected, yes it was crowded when we got up late the first day because everyone else did the same, but the second day of our stay we got up early and there were no lines and plenty of food. The hotel staff was outstanding. Great location near the Brooklyn Bridge and the Seaport District. My only suggestion is to increase the brightness of the lightbulbs in the bathroom. We will definitely stay again.
