We’ve been coming to this office for many years(at least 5) and it was great until the Newburgh location closed and now they seem too busy. The pediatric dentist, Dr. Hinkle is great with children which is why we’ve stayed. My daughter currently has braces on and the orthodontist, Dr. Deans is great as well. The scheduling is the problem. When my daughter gets her teeth cleaned I always schedule her next 6 month appt because I need the later appts. She was due to go in august 2021. A couple days before the appt the office canceled and said her hygienist quit. They took our name and number but I never got a call so last week I called and they tried giving me a 10:45am appt for the following week. She has school and I work and I can not get off with such short notice. That was a cancellation otherwise I was told they’re booked until June of 2022. Shouldn’t patients who had appts already scheduled be the first appts rebooked? So now my daughter won’t have her teeth cleaned for a year and a half and she has braces on. Once her braces come off I’ll be looking for a new dentist since apparently she aged out of seeing Dr. Hinkle and he’s the main reason we stay. Very poor patient/ customer service.
This is the first dentist and dentist’s office I have ever felt comfortable going to. Dr. Chernin, the hygienists and staff are great. If I have an emergency they’re able to get me in ASAP. Dr. Chernin always makes me feel at ease and is very thorough with her work. I am grateful to be a patient of hers and this facility. Thank you!
In an expression of utmost gratitude I would like to thank Dr. Gelbart & his amazing staff for their contribution to the recovery efforts in Puerto Rico. A donation of nearly 1000 toothbrushes toothpaste and dental floss have been distributed to the children of the storm ravaged town of Morovis, Puerto Rico who just recently returned to school 3 months after the devastation occurred. Thanks again Dr. Gelbart and your incredible staff for such a gracious, thoughtful, generous and warm act of kindness! You guys rock! ❤️🇵🇷🙏🏽
***UPDATE: Thanks for sending me a check for $50. Everyone knows the pat-answer ..we cant find any record of you... is just a way of trying to call out liars. Which I am not. It was not until the day after I posted this review (which I have upgraded to 3 stars) that someone called me to rectify this. As I recall, the terms and conditions I signed, did not say rescheduling had to be done more than 4 days in advance. I understand the need for cancellation policies. But I am sure 4 days is more than sufficient. Please, let everyone know up front and very clearly on your website what your cancellation and rescheduling policies are.****Called on a Monday to reschedule (not cancel) an appointment for Thursday and they said it would cost me $100. 4 days notice isnt enough???? At a time when people are struggling financially, this is how they treat their patients! When I questioned their cancellation policy, I was told that if I had to cancel (I said reschedule) and didnt pay the fee, the doctor would refuse to see us.
I have a ridiculous phobia of the dentist and Dr Dubin left the practice so i was going to have someone brand new to me. Dr. A was fantastic and so was his assistant. i had a root canal and temporary crown done. I have 2 more to do and feel so much better about going. They were so kind.
Everyone here has been extremely helpful. I had one unpleasant experience here, I called to explain the situation, and I feel like they went out of their way to fix the problem. They assigned me with another dentist, Dr Dubin, who was nothing short of amazing, he managed to schedule me for an (emergency) appointment with the periodontist the next day even though my initial appointment with her was in 3 months! Today, I had my wisdom tooth extracted by Dr Oh, who did it in 3 minutes (I happened to look at the time before he began). I was told by other dentists that it was impacted and needed surgery. It didnt, not even stitches. I didnt even know it was done and was completely painless! I actually didnt even know the tooth came out until I asked!! I highly recommend this practice! My small children (under 10) also both love their dentist and hygienist!
This place delivers the worst customer service that I have ever experienced from a medical provider! Dr. Chung allowed me to walk out of his office with a severe bacterial infection. Dr. Chung never followed up with my appeal and refused to do a PEER to PEER review. I DO NOT recommend this dental provider. As for the office staff, they have no empathy an they do not follow up with you regarding issues. I recommend that you find another dental group if your looking for good care. I was forced to put one star, in my opinion they dont deserve that.
Yesterday I faced my fears & started my root canal procedure with Katie & Dr. Durbin. They were amazing. The dr was honest , knew what he was doing and talking about & Katie made me feel comfortable when she felt I was tensed up- I truly would recommend you guys to anyone ! All of the staff was professional & friendly from reception to dr thank you so much :)
I went to family dental for over 16 years. I have worked with several dentist and I loved going there! Till now...I had an appointment after moving back down from upstate, and brought my children in to have xrays. But because I didnt text back to confirm the appointment because their office staff didnt update my phone number (they got my insurance info updated correctly though 🤔) they could not see one of my 3 children, after I had walked there cause I have no car. I sat for over an HOUR, and finished the appointment, made new appointments for further in april only to be harassed by the office staff saying I had to reschedule again! The staff lied and said I had cancelled an appointment the following day (which was my own appointment and the make up one for my son)cause I just woken up which was a TOTAL LIE! I was sick and could not walk there, but who cares right? Their new dentist Dr. Dubin refuses to see my children on the same day cause it takes up too much time for them if we have to cancel. Too much of their time? What about my hour I wasted on your office? (Which would have covered both appointments for my son and myself 🤔)I will NEVER go here again!
Do not come to Family Dental Group unless you are prepared to wait. You need to have to patience of a Saint. I have always waited for up to 45 mins to an hour and 15 mins for my son to see the hygienist for cleaning. Other than that, I have no complaints. The office is nice and clean. All the staff members are friendly and informative. The doctors are very professional and kind. They just need to work scheduling their patients more accurately and I would definitely give them a higher rating.
The worst experience I have ever had. I brought my 5 year old for multiple small cavities, after the evaluation they scheduled her to have them filled. The day they filled them they did 3 small ones and the dentist advised me that there were two more that were not through the enamel and that if she brushed and flossed they would not be an issue. I help her brush and floss every night. 3 months later one has become a massive hole in her tooth.
Absolutely fantastic. EVERYONE there is consistently caring, patient, knowledgeable and professional. Over the years, Ive had much work done here, cleanings, fillings, bridges, implants, etc. and they have always done a great job. Maybe they call it Family Dental because they care for you as if you are actually part of their family. Highly recommend.
I had 4 wisdom teeth extracted In September 2019 by Dr. Eric Oh and more recently in (May 2020) my first ever cavity filled by Dr. Vincent Ayuko. They were both wonderful!!!. They both made me feel calm and comfortable as i have a fear of The dentist and also being put under anesthesia,Their assistants and staff were friendly and courteous. The staff, in the front, were very professional and made me feel welcomed. Ive been to both hygienists (Ellen?) and (Nicole?) they are very nice and thorough!.I strongly recommend Dr. Vincent Ayuko and Dr. Eric Oh of the Family Dental Group.-Thank you !!
I went to Family Dental of Fishkill for the first time 2 weeks ago.I used the same dentist for over 30 years so I had a little apprehension to say the least! My dentist retired and I now live too far to go to that office.Well, to my delight, I found the entire staff to be friendly, helpful, professional and courteous.Love the ladies at the front desk! The office is clean and up to date. My hygienist Nicole( love her too) was excellent! Gentle and thorough! My new dentist, Dr. Kesselman had a wonderful demeanor. I felt very comfortable with him. I didnt need any dental work at this time. He said that everything looked good and complemented my former dentists work!So now, Im set for 6 months! One last note, I dont usually write reviews!
Made appointments for both of my children, got an email confirmation AND a text confirmation. Took the day off work and pulled my kids out of school. Then I was told that I had only made an appointment request and that the confirmations are sent out automatically but theres no actual appointment at all. Apparently it all goes through corporate and theres nothing that the office can do about their patients being lied to. Beware of very unethical and deceiving practices here.
I am rewriting my review based on my experience over the last 6 months I have been receiving treatment. I feel that it is unfair to give a bad review based on one visit as, sometimes this office gets chaotic. I have received 2 crowns and fillings by Dr. Chernin and her assistant Gladys. The wait is usually no more than 15 minutes in the office and they are very apologetic if you do end up waiting.Upon being called in, the assistant will prep the room and etc, usually they are always in a rush but very good at what they do, at least Gladys is the best!I had to get a crown in my front tooth and they did the most amazing job. I am so so so happy with it. It looks perfect. The temporary one was also perfect and I was able to wear it for 2 months or so. Gladys was great at creating that one to perfectly match my teeth. Also, I had an insurance problem but the office took responsibility and did not charge me. I believe it was Lisa who took it to her hands and really saved me a headache there.I highly recommend Family Dental, I have received various treatments and its really one of the best dental places i have visited.
I went to get a cleaning on 10/29 and they were aware I was pregnant. I got called in and saw the hygienist Michelle in the fishkill location and when I got into the room I got questioned on why it has been so long since I got a cleaning and just shrugged it off. She than told me I HAD to get an x-ray which I told her no I don’t want one I just want a cleaning and was told well you have to get one. I told them I did not want one multiple time and than had to get my mother on the phone because she was not listening to me and than told my my that I have to sign a paper to say I don’t want an X-ray which she didn’t tell me just my mom which was very wrong as I am the insurance holder and I get to make my own medical decisions as I am 20 years old. I should have been given the option the second I denied but instead was fought on it. I than spoke to the office manager and she didn’t care and said that she’s never had a complaint about her and just shrugged it off. I also shouldn’t have had to talk to her in front of the whole waiting room telling them that I am pregnant as that is no ones business but i shouldn’t have to explain myself to not wanting an x-ray. They than typed up something on a paper stating I didn’t want one and told me that I only have 30 minutes left so if I wanna get a cleaning I have to decide. I also was only there for a cleaning not an exam so it just seemed like they wanted to charge my insurance more money. This is the WORST experience I have ever had and I have been going there since I was very young.
I am and have always been a very nervous and scared dental patient. After being absent from visiting any dentist for years, I decided it was time to be brave and give it a go. I restarted at Family Dental a few years back and they have always made me feel comfortable and at ease with any treatment I needed. Ive had 4 wisdom teeth removed and a couple of fillings and I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. I highly recommend this Dental office.
Dr Chung is amazing. No pain even during the injection. Root canal no pain plus honest. My insurance approved 2 root canals and after reviewing the doctor felt only 1 is needed with crowns the rest of the way. Im not a fan of the dentist and the staff from desk to doctor was amazing. Thank you
The staff is very kind and the work was completed on time and no issues. Everyone cares for the patients which is seen by the quality of the work performed. All treatments were excellent. I have a high degree of trust for all staff members. Explanations are very understandable and they always answer them to my satisfaction. It was a place my late wife loved to go also. I leave feeling good and happy. Your staff really cares and it’s hard to see that within other places. Thank you all. Hello Dr. Friedman - you did great work on my implants. See you soon. Thank You. Mike Doren
Everything about this place is so jaw-droppingly terrible I can’t believe they haven’t been sued out of existence. I was a patient here for the past few years, and every aspect of their operations were horrible: the dentists, the hygienists, the assistants, even their Invisalign consultant, were all just astonishingly inept. All the dental work I had done here had to be redone later. And the receptionist I spoke with most recently was so rude that it left me shaken for days (and caused me to finally leave). Please, please, please stay far away from this dumpster fire of a dental practice.
This was my first visit to Family Dental in Fishkill. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by the ladies at the front desk. I filled out the new client paperwork and was taken in the back to see the dentist, all within 10 minutes. The dentist I saw, as well as his assistant, were lovely. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable, caring, kind, and definitely experienced. I had a few small cavities filled, with no numbing needed. The doctor informed me he would prefer to not numb me for my own comfort, but if I felt anything at all, he would numb me right away. Didnt feel a thing!! Dentist was so gentle and attentive. I will be returning later in the month for some other work that I need done. This is definitely my new place for all of my cleaning & dental needs!!
If you need major restoration I would recommend going somewhere else. I had 3 dentists working on my teeth over the last, almost 3 years and it was a disaster.I saved up some money to get my front teeth fixed and it turned into a nightmare. everything started with Lucchese (you better run if you hear this name), he had no clue what he was doing. Unfortunately the damage was done and the money was gone, when I recognized his incompetence.I was referred within the group to 2 other Dentists who fixed the work of this bungler. At this point I should have left this place but I trusted the other 2 dentists, paid already the money, and I think they tried their best but they also had their limits. The end product is still bad, the front teeth just dont fit right.Again , I should have left this place earlier but for that its now to late. Think twice before you get your teeth fixed at this place.I went back to a westchester dentist, he was shocked about the work that was done.Shame on Lucchese.
Very disappointed with this new office. The main office rarely Anwser’s the phone. The call center they use is very rude. My doctors office has sent them a fax 5x and got confirmation that it was successfully sent, yet they claim nothing came through. I am 8 months pregnant with a face the size of a ballon due to a tooth that broke and have been trying to get in for over a week. Very upset with this office change. Would not recommend if your looking to go somewhere were people actually do their job and care about the patients
I recently had 4 top teeth extracted and had a full set of top dentures put in. I had no problems and the dentist Dr. Ayuko was fantastic. He explained what was going on and was very gentle. His assistant Jose was great. The staff at the reception area were very friendly. I highly recommend Family Dental Group and Dr. Ayuko.
Family Dental Group is fantastic. They get me in fast. The front office is efficient. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Love the doctors and hygienists. They are incredible at fixing problems. My teeth continue to look great thanks to this office. Would recommend to everyone.
After years of neglect on my teeth, I was embarrassed and terrified to go to the dentist. I told Dr. Chernin I just wanted my smile back, and that is exactly what she has given me! She is so sweet and really cares about her patients. I’ve needed A LOT of work done and she has done it all perfectly. My teeth look beautiful, and it’s all because of her. If I could give her 10 stars I would. Thank you Dr.Chernin!
Awful experience. The newburgh office botched a cavity filling which had to be redone at the office THREE times - likely why that location closed. After I was told by the newburgh office that the fee would be waived after the third unsuccessful try, since my insurance previously paid, I moved on with my life now living out of state. Fishkill office now sent a bill - TWO YEARS later to my old home looking for money on their botched dental job - emphasis on the two years later. The only reason I know is because I have been getting collection calls. This place has super bad business practices complimented by the lack of dental training. I was trying to be nice not writing a bad review of the newburgh office previously but dang how money hungry can you be to screw up and expect me to pay more money for it when I had to go to another dental office to fix it? I think it’s worth noting they take no responsibility for poor dental work. Oh and don’t be surprised it you get a bill two years later
If you have medicare, no more dental care. After many years of loyal patronage, no effort to work with me. They obviously care about the bottom line more than their patients.Update: After receiving an appt, the care I received was subpar even for a visit to Walmart. This used to be a great place for dental care, but it has plummeted into the pits. Rude, abusive behavior and incompetence is now the norm here. Very sad.
We saw Dr. Saintil today and I am beyond pleased with her care! My 7yo was very worried about his appointment and was crying in the chair and Dr. Saintil and her assistants did an incredible job of calming him down and making him comfortable. She explained what she was doing to each of my kids as she went so that they wouldnt be scared or nervous. She was great with my 1yo as well, who HATES having his teeth touched. My 7yo will need fillings at his next appointment and after going today, he is not at all worried or upset, but actually excited to go back and see his new favorite dentist.I would 100% recommend this dentist to anyone with kids! The receptionists were fantastic and very helpful as well. I was worried we wouldnt find a great dentist with our insurance but I am thrilled that I was proven wrong!
Made an appointment for a routine extraction weeks in advance. Informed them when booking the appointment that I was pregnant. Had a medical clearance for the procedure with local anesthesia from both my obstetrician, primary care doctor and my regular dentist. They called to confirm my appointment the day before. Then an hour before my appointment they called to cancel saying the dentist “doesn’t work with” pregnant patients. I asked why they hadn’t informed me of this when booking my appointment or at anytime before the day of my appointment. The very rude receptionist told me that she “just found out” - even though the doctor has been with their practice for “a number of years”. HIGHLY unprofessional. Not even a simple apology for the huge inconvenience and waste of my time and money - since I had to take off of work for the day. It’s all a bunch of BS. Only go here if you like being treated like dirt.
I was traveling in the Hudson Valley last week when I had a minor dental emergency. Even though I was not an existing patient, the staff scheduled me immediately. Everyone in the office (front desk, nurse, and the dentist) was lovely! I appreciate their care and their friendliness. Thank you!!!
As a Senior Patient with a lot of dental experience I can say the atmosphere here is friendly and comforting. The staff is highly experienced and through. The quality of the work is excellent.I take notice of the many children patients I see here and how comfortable they seem to be. Wish I could give them 6 stars.
I went in that office being so nervous and anxious because of my previous experiences with other dentists but the staff at Family Dental Group was absolutely outstanding!! A special thanks to Rosie, Margaret (such a sweetheart), and Dr OH. That team was phenomenal!! Im recommending the Family Dental Group for your dental work!!
I had a lot of fear about going to the dentist as I had a very bad experience with another dental office in CT and since then have been pretty afraid of dental work. The person I initially spoke with on the phone was wonderful which made me more comfortable about coming in. I had a wisdom tooth extraction that needed to be done. Dr. Lucchese was excellent put me at ease and was very patient. The procedure was very quick with very little pain. I didnt even need Advil afterwards. And their prices are reasonable as well. The front desk is always friendly, helpful, and cheerful. Highly recommend!
The ladies at the front desk were the only nice thing about this place. The Doctor was so Unprofessional and rude i could not believe it. I Went for my chipped tooth and he was nasty from the beginning. I had questions about a root canal and insurance as well and again, barely a response, just attitude. He made my tooth worse then it was, uglier and uneven.. when i asked him to try and fix it because i was not happy with it at all, he put the seat up and said “I am done here”.. by far the rudest dentist i’ve ever seen. Avoid this place at all costs, if the attitude doesn’t throw you off from the beginning, the work definitely will. Save yourself the headache and do not give this man business. If there was negative stars i would give him that. Disgusted...
Ive been a patient at Family Dental in Fishkill for ten years and thought it was time to leave a review for this wonderful team of professionals. My bi-annual visits for cleanings are met with a smile by my hygienist, Nikole, who always handles this somewhat-difficult patient with care in a calm, informative and always professional manner. More recently, procedures have been performed by Dr. Chernin who exemplifies the philosophy behind the Family Dental Group. She took time with me to explain my situation, she was incredibly patient and, more importantly, used care and a gentle hand with me. There is a reason why I continue to come back to the Family Dental Group year after year...the people who work there are incredible!
I love Family Dental! They take such good care of you and make you feel at home. Nikole is the best hygienist ever and takes great care of me and my teeth. Jessica and Demi and the rest of the Monday crew are amazing! Me and my family have been coming here for years. My two daughters have had their orthodontic work here as well.
Gone down hill. Was once fine service. Now: Some staff wonderful, others awful, should be working for Walmart instead of healthcare. Phone staff ill-informed; different answer according to whom you speak with. They rush you through procedures, jolt you into position on the chair, and have an impersonal attitude. Youre on a factory assembly line.
Absolutely amazing!!!! As always. They are the best ! Love Dr. Ayuko, hes gentle, kind, friendly, and by far the best dentist my family has ever had ! Nikole is absolutely wonderful!! The staff and front desk are just a group of great people. Im so glad I have them and would follow them where ever they went !!
Best dentist I have ever visited. All staff who work there so warm and are welcoming you. I had a bridge done there with Dr.Kesselman. He did such an excellent work. Im here in San Diego now and they are still lonking good and I miss this dentist so much! His assistant named Joe was really helpful too! This place is definitely go to dentist if you live near by.
Dr. Bryan is awesome and amazing!! He talked to my 5 year old and explained everything he was going to do before he did it without scaring him. He gained my sons trust quickly which is very difficult task. Going in my son was scared but during the visit and even after getting his cavities filled with only laughing gas he said Dr. Bryan is his friend and he is the only dentist to touch his mouth from now on! We would recommend him to anyone..
I have a son with special needs and Dr. R. Tanner was wonderful with him. I was told he by other dentists that he was unable to handle, to having a mouthful of cavities, only to hear from Dr. Tanner that my son did wonderful and that he had one cavity! My other boys love her to and I see this group myself. Im so happy to have found them.
I had a crown done a few years ago with a doctor if it can be named doctor. His name was dr. singh! I do not recomend him wherever he is right now. He said he would fix my front tooth which it was chipped , with a crown and he end up doing a root canal and putting a screw on it because he couldnt shape my tooth and destroyed it. now my crown keeps falling out and i keep going to the office so they can put some glue and stick it back on. Now the doctor singh does not work there anymore and dont know where he is at but the other doctor that saw me told me that they have to charge me to put an implant and remove whatever is left of my old tooth. The whole office is terrible. May be i can sue them for what they did. I feel really bad about it.
Luckily for my teeth, I have been going to Family Dental Group for 30 plus years. Dr. Michael Gelbart has been an excellent dentist for both my husband and I. My husband had an implant and was good to go after one week.....when he got the final implant.....NO waiting for 6 months!!! Dr. Gelbart and his crew keep up to date with the latest techniques.I love my hygienist, Lesia. Lesia does a terrific job of keeping my teeth in great shape....and she is sooooo gentle! She takes a strong personal interest in meeting all my hygiene needs. The staff is like family! Family Dental Group is the perfect name for this office.
WORST PLACE EVER. DOCTORS ARE RUDE. Orthodontist had an attitude. first time i went they ruined my nice teeth because of a minor chip. mouth is all messed up now, need to find a new place. doctors don’t communicate. they all say different things. they made me schedule 4 appointments and nothing happened any of the days. waste of gas. Wish i never went. DO NOT SUPPORT THEM.
I had a tooth emergency this weekend & rarely go to the dentist. (I know, I know) I used to go to Beacon Dental, but didnt like it there anymore. Anyway, I was having tooth pain & remembered my friend Demi worked at Family Dental Group in Fishkill, NY. I figured Id give them a shot. I reached out to her last minute and within a half hour I was on my way to the office. I was seen within the hour and was on my way to enjoy the rest of my Saturday! The staff & dentist were very friendly and made me feel so comfortable and at ease! Highly recommend!
I was referred to the Fishkill office by a friend who loves Ellen, dental assistant (does the cleaning). The front desk staff is great but I will not be going back to think group due to billing issues. My friend was sent a bill for her son who never visited the office. I was billed for consultation I was told is free. They took an exray for the consultation that was unnecessary as they could have used my file. I was billed for that because it was over my allowed amount for my insurance. They will not be seeing again.
My cap fell out and I looked online and they were open till 7:00! I raced over there at 4:50 to find out the dentists leave at 5:00 and only hygienists work until 7:00!! Uh oh!! It was a front cap! But they agreed to work overtime to recement my cap!!! I was so relieved not to walk around toothless till the next day! The dentist and the assistant worked almost a half hour overtime to get my smile back! They went above and beyond! Thank you!!!
I have been to this dental office for about 15 years. I may be a dentists best case scenario because of my relatively excellent oral/dental health (or was that a dentists worst case scenario ;-). However, I do have my cleaning done at the Family Dental Fishkill 3-4 times a year. And I think the Fishkill office has one of the best dental hygienists, Leisa! Her professionalism, the way that she puts her patients at ease during the visit, her humors and always good conversations throughout. There were times that I joked with Leisa that no dentist but dental hygienist could keep me here for 15 years; there may actually be a lot of truth about that. Anyway, the front office staff is excellent, very efficient, timely reminder of my upcoming appointments, placing me on a short-call list for last-minute appointment changes. And for the 15 years that I have been to this office, I have never felt being talked down or shown an attitude. There were a few times on dispute of charges due to insurance payment dependencies but cases always got resolved promptly by the office manager. Again, there are some outstanding dentists that are more full time at this office location then some other traveling dentists (especially on Saturdays). I cant speaker for every dentist but the office staff is fantastic all-around and the three hygienists (Leisa, Nikole, Ellen) have been at this location for as long as I have been to this office.
The sheer disorganization and customer service (aka lack of accountability) by the office staff for anything that goes wrong with scheduling, takes away from the good dental care and manners from the hygienists and dentists. If no other choices exist and you have an extremely thick skin, just make sure you dont have anything else to do for the next few hours or put anything off on that day just for this appointment. Based on our experiences and similar complaints I have witnessed in the office, I would not be surprised if staff are moving some appointments around (up to 1 hour) post your original appointment. Especially when you have multiple family appointments. Them blaming you and essentially saying tough luck but we can fit you back in in 2 months the biggest insult of the experience. Dont waste your time until they clear that office staff out. Which probably wont happen because office staff is outsourced and I highly doubt the dentists who own the business ever get such feedback passed on to them.
Our 3 daughters see Dr. Hinkle and he is so amazing with them. You can tell he truly cares about his patients. My middle daughter is 6 and had to have 3 route canals before we switched to Dr Hinkle. She cried all the way to the office and I had no idea how I was going to get her in the chair but Dr Hinkle immediately put her at ease and made sure she was comfortable the whole time. She hops in the chair now no problem! His patience with my 3 year old is amazing. The front desk staff are so welcoming and helpful from schedule to billing. I would never go anywhere else!
I broke my front tooth and I went to my regular dentist and he said I’m not working on that. I went a week without my front tooth and I work in costumer service field so imagine that. I decided to look around for dentist offices that are open saturdays and family dental group was. I went to the Brewster office and saw Dr. Lucchese he fixed my tooth no problem such a gentile dentist very professional loved it the office staff was so nice Jessica is so sweet Amanda worked with my schedule, I walked out with a tooth the same day, he is going to be my permanent dentist from now on.
Most of the assistants are very rough and don’t care to treat the kids with care !!!! If you are a pediatric dentist you need to care for kids if not why even be in the field ! My kid does not want to go back to the dentist because the last assistant was disgustingly rough with my child !! Find yourself another dental place !!!!
HORRIBLE experience! The dentist was arrogant, boastful, very insensitive...gave me nothing for pain after a root canal and mocked me when I winced in pain. Botched the procedure...I have x-rays to prove it. My new dentist was appalled and shocked when he viewed the x-rays. The crown fell out after 3 years. I have been to at least 6-7 dentists in my life at various locations, this guy is the absolute worst. Dont remember his name but I do remember the place. I think hes one of the owners. He should not be allowed to practice dentistry!
Went in for what I thought would be a filling & found I needed a crown. After further consultation agreed & was treated quickly & efficiently. I have the ultimate respect for the dentists on staff & would recommend their office to any who might ask. Thanks Family Dental!
This was one of the best dental experiences I have had. The cleaning by hygienist Nikole was outstanding and thorough. The examination by Dr. Kesselman was extremely informative and genuine. The administrative staff and Lisa could not have been better. I would recommend this facility and specifically Nikole and Dr. Kesselman to anyone looking for top notch dental services.
Ive been going to Dr. Gelbart since 2005 (5 stars), starting with implants. Ive spent at least 15K here in that time. Hes been a great dentist to me. The last thing he did before he retired was to make me implant stabilized dentures. Look at my previous review reply, that was for Dr. Gelbart alone. Something happened and they wont say what, he mysteriously disappeared. He wouldnt have left me with Peter Lucchese, he liked me.I went these last 2 times, a year later and saw Peter Lucchese, DDS for an adjustment, which went great... until I had to go back because a pin unscrewed in my sleep and I needed it replaced.I ended up finding the part myself on ebay to stabilize implant denture pins. Theyre called locators. I bout the tool to put them in and out too. It was easy and they fit snug. All under 60.00 hahaha Peter Lucchese :)
Avoid this place. Had 2 root canals done by Dr. Luchesse (I think that’s the spelling) 2 months later both teeth hurt so I went to a new dentist because the women who answers the phone here told me Fishkill isn’t open on Saturday but Newburgh is (wrong...) so I went to a new dentist who told me I now need to see an oral surgeon to get both teeth surgically pulled, a bone graft and an implant, to the tune of roughly 10-15 thousand dollars. Now I’m goin back and forth with an attorney to figure out who’s going to pay for the old root canals and new implants.
My experience with Family Dental Group in Fishkill has been the worst experience I have ever had within the healthcare industry. After almost three months and several appointments, I am still untreated for the initial tooth pain that brought me there. Ive also lost out of hundreds of dollars at my own job because of missed overtime and time off Ive had to use to take care of the mess they created. To make matters even worse, they have the most unprofessional Dentist I have ever come across (Dr. Singh) I cannot, in my right mind, recommend that anyone goes to this dentistry in its current state. My experience started with a mistake on my end. I showed up to an emergency appointment because of severe tooth pain--without my insurance card. After talking to the lady at the front desk, she told me that she had found my dental health information and I wouldnt have to worry about it. What I didnt know is that they had found my crappy secondary dental insurance and not my primary. After X-rays and a cleaning, they told me they would send out a request to pre-certify for a filling and cap to my insurance and get back to me. The young lady who cleaned my teeth was lovely. The dentist who saw me never introduced himself and never talked to me directly--spending the entire examination talking with one of the nurses about what was for lunch (this ended up being Dr. Signh).A month later, I still have not received a call. I have, however, been notified that I have bill around $200 for the cleaning and X-rays. Confused, I call their number. They figure out that they only have my secondary insurance. They tell me to send pictures of the primary insurance to the dentistrys email. I do so...and wait. After another month with nothing, I go in to pay the amount that would be left after my primary insurance submitted...only to find out that they dont have it and still have an outstanding balance for me around $200. After giving them the insurance card, I set up an appointment for the actual filling. That was today. I arrive and get called back to the room quickly. The nurse says they will start will a full mouth exam. I have to tell her that they already did that last time, so she gets the Dentist. Dr. Singh again. He asks what we are doing today. I tell him I just need a filling. He says he would prefer to do the crown and insists even after I tell him I would prefer not to and probably dont want to shell out the money. He goes to check on my insurance. 15 minutes later, he comes back, tells me I have weird insurance, and that we will have to reschedule after they get pre-clearance on my insurance. He then walks out of the room without even acknowledging me. He never even apologized--instead leaving that for the poor women up front who have to deal with him all day. I left with the promise of being called Tuesday. The idea that a large dental group has patients slip through the cracks is expected. But Ive slipped through that crack several times now--never called and never dealt with. As I sit here today, I am still untreated...and now Im unsure of if I can use my insurance at a different place because Ive already had my x-rays done once this year--even though they have done nothing with them as of yet. But I guess I cannot expect much out of a group that would employ someone like Dr. Singh. I understand that some doctors dont have bedside manner down...but Dr. Singh simply doesnt care.Avoid the mess and find yourself a group that isnt this one.
My husband, Sudesh, and I absolutely love our visits with our hygienist, Lesia. She makes us feel comfortable and like a priority. She pays close attention to all our concerns and addresses every one of them effectively. Her interactions with us are thoughtful and meaningful. She goes above and beyond in her care, and we trust her entirely with our oral health. Yesterday, I wasnt feeling well and Lesia made sure I was taken care of before moving on to her next patient. She even checked on me again to make sure I didnt need anything. For us, Lesia places the family in Family Dental Group with her compassionate care.
The worst dental place ever! My appointment was 10am. Got there at 9:45, called me in at 10:15am. Which is ok. Sometimes, new patients have to wait more. But I was sitting my chair until 11:45, they only took 2 x-rays for me. The first one was so bad, the dentist had to ask the tech to take another one. They are only very few patients at that time. I do not understand the reason why no one even came to do anything for me. I was sitting there all by myself to watch people pass by for 90% of my time.I suppose to have a cleaning done. But after these 2 long x-rays, I was told that they have no time to clean my teeth. I had to come back at 1pm.This is RIDICULOUS! 1.5 hours just for x-ray! I will go somewhere else. NO more waste of time there!
I am livid. I paid out of pocket to Family Dental for emergency dental work that I could not wait for my insurance company to approve. My insurance company informed me that I need to have the Dental Office request to have the reimbursement check made out to the patient rather then the dental office. I made that request. Family Dentist failed to do so. My insurance company sent a check to the Dental office on 7/30/16. The check was cashed on 8/11/16. I sent an email. I have never received a response. I have called Family Dental many times. I was told during my first conversation that I should receive a check within a week. During my second conversation I asked to speak with the accounting. I was told that the accountant is only in the Fishkill office on Mondays. I called on Monday and was told that the accountant already left for the day. That she is only in the Fishkiill office in the early morning. I asked to be connected to the accountant dept. I was told that there really isnt an accounting dept. That the accountant travels to all of their locations. Today I called and I was told that there is No Accountant. That the person that handles all of the accounting needs is the Office Manager. I was told that she is on vacation and to call back next week. I asked to speak with whom ever is handling the accounting needs while the office manager is away. I am told that there is No One handling accounting at this time. I have never heard of such Bull. A Dental Office, with multiple locations DOES NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNTING DEPT. Are you Kidding Me!!!
I had a terrible experience here. I was taken in the back for a consultation. I had a tooth that was hurting. I had xrays taken and then was told that I had a crack in one tooth and a cavity in the other. I was shown the xrays and when I said I didnt see the crack, the dentist said Yes it is right there I still didnt see it. I was told that the oral surgeon could pull the tooth with the fracture because it was too bad to save. Long story short...I went to another dentist and the tooth they were going to pull was a perfectly normal tooth. The one behind it had a hairline crack. They were going to pull the WRONG tooth. They dont even deserve the one star!!
I went here based on the positive reviews, but this establishment is inadequate. No sinks next to the chair to spit in, they actually give you two cups, one with rinse and one empty cup to spit into!!!! They spend their money on TVs in the rooms instead of spit sinks. LMAO!Also, they dont have a 360 x-ray machine, so they had to keep moving the machine to take 18 different x-rays like it was the 1990s.
Dr Lucchese is by far the BEST, if I could give him 100 stars I would. I never believed I would ever have a good smile Instead I got a great smile all due to a miracle worker that I now consider to be family. There isnt enough praise I could give to the Man Dr Lucchese!!!
Dont trust Dr. Friedman, he scams people out of thousands of dollars. If he acts overly nice to you chances are hes gonna scam you. Not only will he scam you but hell mess up your teeth permanently as well. This guy should honestly lose his license. Im not taking this post down until my teeth are perfect.
Horrible! Dirty Exam rooms. Rushed through procedure. Asked for credit card while I was still in the exam chair. No aftercare instruction. Not put on antibiotics. Developed a severe infection. Ended up in the Emergency room in the middle of the night where an Oral surgeon had to be called in to drain 3 abcesses that had developed. DONT GO HERE!
This place is horrible...they told me I needed 5 ET canals when I only needed 2 to get more $ out of me...each time I went whatever they would tell me contradicted what we were last time also their hygienist had no knowledge about anything I would ask questions and she would give me incorrect answers and when I would question her answer she caught an attitude same for their receptionist upfront they are rude for the most part not all of them but most of this place is horrible
Horrible.. I was told I was on schedule. Showed up 20 mins early, over an hour later still not seen when people who had appointments after me were seen, there was another man who had been there for a long time as well and never seen. Told him they didnt even know he was there and he did check in... 0 stars....
Had a10:30 appointment today . Showed up on time , waiting room was very crowded . At 11:00 ,I was still not seen , and I notified the front desk that I needed to leave by 11:20 at the latest .At 11:15 , :45 after I was scheduled to be seen , I let them know that I could longer wait .Seems very disorganized and unprofessional .I will not be back .

2022-06-26This visit was for my six year old granddaughter, and since this would be her first dental visit she was very nervous. Ms. Sherry and Dr. Melissa was fantastic with her. They informed her about everything that would happen, this put her at ease and she felt very comfortable and happy and even stated it was not that bad. The check in and check out staff is also great, cheerful and very professional. The facility is very clean and the atmosphere very warm and appealing to both children and adults. The wall art displayed my granddaughter’s favorite book - Green Eggs and Ham. We look forward to the next visit. A big thank you to everyone! We are so blessed to have found you.

2022-05-21Going to the dentist is never something one looks forward to. However, I always feel regarded, and cared for. I am in my 60s and need some serious oral surgery. My doctor is confident, but never cocky. His assistance are all super nice, supportive and knowledgable. I recommend this office highly.

2022-03-19Receptionists are nice, dentist are fine. Billing on the other hand, 👎👎 They tried to over bill me a few times that I called them out on. It isn’t worth the hassle. I just advise you to cross reference your EOB vs the bill you receive. My account is now in collection for money I do not owe. It’s all good, my employer offers free lawyer services, so I will be presuming the incorrect information on my credit report

2021-12-10Everyone we encountered was extremely pleasant. Billing contacted our insurance to verify benefits, our hygienist (Nicole) was personable and thorough, the dentist was respectful and professional. Our entire family was seen and we all had a great experience. We would highly recommend this practice for all ages.

2022-06-03I can’t say enough about my recent experience here. I’ve been to many dentists and have had several root canals and extractions unfortunately in my life (even tho I take such good care of my teeth) While I had to wait a while for appts, I’m so glad I did! I had an absolute pain-free root canal w Dr. Kessleman on 1 tooth on Wednesday. Not to mention he was patient w me and answered all my ridiculous questions. His assistant (I think Jose) was equally as nice and smart. I’ve never had such a comfortable feeling at a dentist office before. Until.. the very next day I went back for what I thought would be a difficult extraction bc it was an old broken root canal. This time was with Dr. Oh. And lemme tell you- DR. OH MY GOD is what I’m calling him from now on! 1st his assistant (I’m so sorry I didn’t remember her name bc I was so nervous) really pretty lady and so nice and calming. Then Dr OMG comes in and again I’m asking stupid questions and they both put me at ease. I was fully expecting a tough time. And before I knew it- it was done! I remember asking if it’s really bad and how bad will it get and she says- it’s out, you’re good. I didn’t believe her til I sat up lol. Drove myself 40mins home w gauze in my mouth and changed gauze once. No bleeding. No pain. Slept like a baby and went to work as a hairdresser today. Slight swelling that only I noticed but a lil make-up fixed it. They’re making me partial dentures so I can’t wait to see my old/new smile again!
