Family Dollar in other cities:
The most ghetto family dollar in the world if you ask me. They have maybe 2 people working. Nothing is ever stocked. One time they had no food items for atleast 5 months. The cashier even asked if i wanted to buy weed. Like really bro??? This owner needs to get his stuff together. Ive been watching this store decline for years. Only reason it gets any business is its location.
Worst service ever from rude employees that hate their job as well as YOU SPECIFICALLY for making them actually DO their job... *AS AWFUL AS IT GETS MAKING ME DREAD EACH ENCOUNTER* Its really too bad too since its one of the only stores in the area that sell general household goods as well as the basic foods we all need, making it unavoidable due to this areas lack of an alternative. That being said, Family Dollar on East Main will never offer better service since they will always get the business of the community simply bc we have no where else to go and it makes me sick knowing my hard earned money helps their evil business thrive...
Went to return a product from another family dollar at a store on main and West Utica in Buffalo New York The manager came up after I had to wait for her to get up from the desk and finally said to me she would not take the return because she didnt want to lose out and have a loss. Theres no excuse for not taking the item
Theres no where to lock up your bike, and the staff will no longer let you bring it inside when youre just grabbing a quick item, such as aspirin or milk. Its a good little place to grab a few essentials inexpensively, while youre downtown, but without a place to lock up the bike--its not great for those of us who live downtown anymore, unless you have someone to stand guard outside while you run in. Since theres no parking downtown thats close, it rules out a quick run while out on other errands. It seems this place only caters to those who are either working downtown, or have a lay over at the RTS transit station during their commute.Since two other Family Dollars on Monroe & Goodman and over on Garson & Culver have closed, itd be nice if this were available were more available for quick over-the-counter item or for a few household goods like dish soap, for those of us who live near down town, but are a bit too far to walk, and dont want to drive for lack of parking.
The family dollar sowntown, cud use some lessons in common courtesy, judjing incorrectly..judging period! Searching ppls purses, property,& actially searching a person! Ordering myself2 open my purse for absolutely NO reason, besides the fact they felt like it..no exaggeration.. No lies..no arrest record, or past history w/ this store..Never been in trouble with law at all..Then after 1 employee searched a man exiting the store, after the entire line was protesting this, the teller refuses2 wait on me, after waiting in line 4 over a half hour, &literally says Ill take the next person please, anyone exept HER ( me) wen the whole line was saying the same things& protesting her actions in the same manner,Yet sbe singles ME out, cus she doesnt want 2 wait on me!!!! Omg! Wish i cud hav filmed it..🙄

2022-05-17Now that the store has a new manager walking in there early on a Tuesday morning was an amazing experience! Kim ( the manager) was genuinely helpful and put a smile on my face for the rest of my morning. Truly impressed.

2022-03-10The store consists of here and there grocery items and an equal amount of random household items etc. The staff here are decent. Its ok for a quick in and out stop.

2022-05-15I needed an ATM and sunscreen on a Sunday and they had both. People behind the register were friendly and helpful.

2021-05-08I have always found the employees to be kind and courthouse. I have always been greeted when I have entered the store. And if I was unable to find something or I needed something on the top shelf that I could not reach the employees have always helped. And when I have checked out they have always made sure that I was satisfied and found everything that I was looking for.

2021-09-17I love it being so close. I walk.most of the time, to the store. I met JoJo the manager, she was amazing and went out of her way to help. A great experience for 8am.

2018-01-05Very convenient. Store definitely needs repair and better organization. Staff have always been friendly.Edit: I answered a question from Google about this location. (Is it wheelchair accessible?) I answered no. I have gotten into the store with my wheelchair but it is not easy. No button. And the doors threshold isnt easy to get over. Thus, why I say the store needs updating.

2019-08-15Staff requested my backpack when I entered the store. Totally ok.When I got it back all the pockets had been unzipped, and my pack was wide open. SO NOT OKAY, EVER.If it wasnt abundantly clear above, the staff ruffled through my pack while I was shopping.Completely and utterly unacceptable.

2019-08-11Although the store is messy the location is convenient for quick buys such as home goods (paper towels, tissue, detergent), and basic pharmacy store needs(fem prod, hair, bathroom, medication); which if you live in the area there is nothing available outside of making the drive to Henrietta, Brighton or Greece which is no less than 15min away, then there’s parking and having to drive and bring in bags... Ughhhh I could go on and on but hey, this store is bitter sweet lol have to take the the good with the bad.... The only part I would give a 1* is the staffing. Management must hire more people to keep the store clean and to make checkout faster and possibly a security guard for loss prevention and to keep COG from going up which would be the only reason I stop shopping.

2017-02-18It takes talent to run a store this terribly. (1) Theyre constantly out of basic things, like eggs, milk, or butter. Its not an anomaly - it seems like every Sunday, theyre out of milk, but they never get a bigger shipment to start their week. (2) Their staff is miserable - it seems like a terrible work environment. Ive gone here for long enough that Ive seen staff members on their first day, and watched them get more and more depressed before disappearing. (3) They never have enough cashiers, and their payment processing system seems like a wreck - you can expect to wait at least 5 minutes in line, and theres almost always only one cashier. Paying takes forever. (4) They run out of cash all the time. When they do, they can only take cards.
