BRIDE BEWARE!!!! If you are planning to use their services think again!! The team lost all the receipts and orders of an entire bridal party. All of the dresses are already paid for. HOW do you loose this information?!? Also, the lady that called to tell me this was not nice at all. I asked her to give me 5 minutes to find the receipt or if I could call her back but she replied NO, I NEED THIS IMMEDIATELY.Horrible. Lets hope they can order the bridesmade dresses as we ordered them and that we get them on time. Never recomeding this place. Horrible
Do yourself a favor and avoid this shop.My dress was ordered in January and I was told it would arrive in June. My wedding was September 21.Because the gown is sheer on top and has some color in it, I needed for the gown to be in so I could match undergarments, accessories, a veil and shoes. When I bought the dress I asked the sales person (Debbie) if they could add pockets and a new liner during alterations. She said they could and thats why I bought this dress.After a lot of problems, a long, unexplained delay, speaking with the designer, and being insulted by a male associate at the shop, my dress finally came in three weeks before my wedding. I had no time to find an alternate seamstress and went to Ferris for alterations. I tried the dress with a too-small bustier. The seamstress told me that it was perfect, although it made my flesh bulge out at the top.So, she would not be putting in a liner and she also told me that pockets were impossible to put into this dress. I expressed how inconvenient this all was to Mary Lou, the owner. Instead of being super apologetic and offering something to make it better, she told me about a bride whose dress came in the day before her wedding because her mother had terminal cancer and she wanted her to be there. So, she moved the wedding up and her mother ended up dying before the wedding anyway. Im pretty sure she told me this to try and shame me for being upset.At the end of my first fitting they handed me an alterations estimate for $470. This was for a modesty panel, the shoulders being taken up, darts added, a basic bustle, and a hem. I was mad, partially because of the high price of alterations, but also because Mary Lu didnt seem to care how inconvenient this was. I rushed to find undergarments and nothing in local shops would work. I ended up ordering a veil and undergarments on rush, spending twice as much as I would have had to in June.When I went for what I thought could be my final fitting, the hem was an absolute disaster, the front panel rippled, the waist was sitting far too high, and there were parts falling off. I showed this to Mary Lu and expressed my deep displeasure. She offered me nothing. Since I bought the dress during a promotion where she gave me a $200 credit towards accessories, I simply told her that I didnt want any accessories in her shop and she should take $200 off the alterations for all the problems that Id been experiencing. She reluctantly agreed. I also found out from another seamstress at Ferris that they couldve had pockets put in, but I wouldve had to order it that way!As you can see from my wedding photos, my dress did not look the way it was supposed to. I was very self-conscious and my entire day was colored by the fact that I did not feel or look my best... and this was 100% due to the poor quality work and lack of care at Ferris.
The best experience ever! Patty was amazing and made me feel so comfortable. My first and only wedding dress fitting! Found a Beautiful Justin Alexander dress during the trunk show. Definitely going back for my bridesmaids!
Maryul was extremely helpful in making my wedding day super special. She has great customer service and a wide selection. I am recommending her to anyone getting married. You will not be disappointed!!!!!
Would give 0 stars. Apparently a dress takes 9 months to be even delivered? And this is just something that happens according to this sham of a ‘business’. Completely mismanaged. Told a delivery date. Then they don’t know where the dress is. Then they say it’ll be fine it’ll be fine…when the dress is already paid for. Not everything is COVIDs fault, yet this business uses it as a crutch to steal from their customers. If they cannot deliver on a dress that is paid In full, on the agreed date range, they need to issue full refunds. Why would anyone use store credit when they’ve already demonstrated their inability to follow through on what they promise customers? I normally like to support small business -not this one. Happily, small claims court exists.
I couldn’t have been more grateful for the service my wife received at Ferri Formals. From choosing her dress to alterations, she felt so attended to every step of the way. Now her dress is back in their hands for cleaning and preservation, and I have no doubt they’ll do a fantastic job. Thanks so much to Marylu and the wonderful staff at Ferri for making my wife look like a dream on our wedding day!
I went in for my first fitting in June and was completely dissatisfied that I had to get a corset in the back of my dress since we could not zip it up. Unfortunately there was no other option unless I bought a new dress, since I was in love with my dress I did not want to do that. I went in yesterday 8/23 for my final fitting and was completely upset, the dress looked horrid on me and the corset was NOT anything I wanted at all, it completely ruined the dress. After talking with my mom and fiance, they both encouraged me to find a new dress if the one I had I did no love any longer. After leaving the bridal store, I went back because I was so upset and just knew I couldnt wear that dress. Karen went above and beyond for me, she knew I was upset and the last thing she said she wanted was a crying bride, as I was from frustration. She immediately helped me search for another dress, every team member was on my side 100% trying to help me find the perfect dress, they were all so kind and so accommodating. Still stressed out about my first dress, Karen offered us credit back towards a new dress and veil, once I found the perfect dress(again), everything was perfect. The service was perfect, the seamstress was above accommodating and everything was perfect. They are even altering my new dress in A WEEK to make sure I have it for my wedding in 18 days. I am so thankful to have found this dress shop and I highly highly highly recommend it without a doubt.
Purchased my Bridesmaid dress here and was unaware that any size over 18 is subject to a $40 sizing fee. Was never made aware when trying on dresses or anything beforehand. Someone else in the bridal party ordered her dress and it was only $170, meanwhile mine is $210. When I saw the fee and mentioned it to the lady she brushed it off when I made the statement “so you’re charging me extra because i’m bigger”. Very disappointing when many companies are all about inclusion nowadays but still discriminate based off size without understanding why someone might be bigger.
Marylou and her staff were amazing! They were very professional especially during COVID. When my dress arrived with a few issues, Marylou was able to get it solved for me! We had plenty of time for it to arrive since we ended up postponing our reception. My dress was a perfect fit and i got soooo many complements on it! I highly recommend Ferri Formals to anyone!

Gowns were beautiful and high quality, but the prices were very reasonable. Great alterations, though I did encounter difficulty, as did my bridesmaids, with scheduling them. Bridesmaids dresses were also stunning.
Words cant describe how amazing Mary Lou and her staff are. Not only is my wedding dress absolutely gorgeous but they also went out of their way to make the experience fun. The seamstress work is immaculate and always done on time. The prices for the tailoring are affordable, which is hard to come by when it comes to a wedding dress. When it was time to pick up my dress, Mary Lou gave me a white mask with lace and gems on it for my wedding day to match my dress. It was so beautiful and sweet of her to do. The day before the wedding I ran into an issue with my husbands tuxedo at the dry cleaners. My first thought was to call Mary Lou and her amazing team. The seamstress was able to fix it super quick. While we were waiting for the seamstress to see if anything could be done Mary Lou was ready to fit my husband with another tux and stay late to have it tailored and ready for the next day. Thank god it was an easy fix, but the fact that she was willing to go out of her way to help meant the world to me. This place is truly loyal to their customers. Thank you all so much for making my experience so pleasant! If I could give you 1,000 stars I would. Needless to say I absolutely recommend Ferri Formals and Bridals for your wedding needs!!!
Mary Lu and ferri formals literally made my wedding dress dreams come true. From the amount of inventory they have to the customer service you can’t go wrong. Mary Lu specifically made a wedding dress nightmare of mine into a fairytale dream. Let’s just say I had to postpone my wedding because of Covid and had boughten my original dress in 2019. With that being said I was needing to find a new dress about two month before my wedding and she made this situation so easy for me! And I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out! Can’t thank them enough!
I’ve gone here twice now to get my prom dress altered and now my Bridesmaids dress and I’ve got to say they did great each time!! Always so nice and super manageable prices for the alterations!! It’s a great option to go to when you need a dress to be fixed up or even looking for a bridal dress, they’re so pretty and reasonably priced.
I purchased my wedding dress with Karen and had alterations done here, and had a wonderful experience. I stated my budget for a dress and alterations, and they listened and were honest with me. I bought a full ball gown with train and Mary worked with me for all fittings, cutting the skirt down to ankle length and then making some changes to the straps. When I picked it up, it was exactly what I had hoped for, and it really was PERFECT!
I purchased my wedding dress with Marylu back in June 2020. All covid protocols were followed, but I was still allowed to try on as many dresses as I liked which really helped. Marylu found the exact dress I was looking for! Everyone at the shop was so welcoming and helpful. When my dress finally arrived, it was a little different than the one I initially tried on months before. Marylu did everything in her power to make the dress the exact way I wanted, and she did! She was so amazing throughout this whole experience, I cannot recommend this shop enough to everyone I know. Such a great selection of gowns, plus the staff really make this shop go round!
I went in to shop for my wedding dress and worked with Marylou. she was amazing! i couldn’t decide on a dress in my first appointment so i ended up coming again and found my dress! i cannot recommend ferri formals enough, they were welcoming, kind and very helpful!
I had the pleasure of using Ferri Formals twice and both times i have been very pleased. The first time i used them i needed to find a dress for my mother. She was going to walk my brother down the isle for his wedding. We wanted her to complement the bride and the theme of the up coming nuptuals. They did not disappoint. The ladies took there time and talked to us to find the perfect dress for mom. She looked amazing! Mom was happy and my brother was very impressed.Now i have the pleasure again to use there impeccable services for my cousins wedding. We had gone to a lot of places searching for the right wedding dress for her. She couldnt find the one, then i told her about Ferri Formals. We went and from the moment we step in the building the glow that came apon my cousins face was priceless. Not only did we find THEY dress but we also found the mother of the bride dress for her mom.The professionalism they provided, the beautiful selection they have and the willingness to help and work with you to make sure that the customer is completely satified is a guarantee that i will use them again and again. Great experience. Worked with a woman named Marylou. Was a little apprehensive at first as we had been to a couple of spots prior, and did not feel very welcomed. She made us feel very comfortable and was very kind.This place was LBGTQ friendly which was great to see! She spent plenty of time with us finding our likes and dislikes and we were able to find the perfect gown! Was very personable and not pushy. If your looking for a shop that offers you that personal touch, this is your place!

They make you feel good about all the dresses and bring out a few they could through a curve in what you looking for and that might be the one you go with. I had the best experience choosing a wedding dress at Ferri Formals. They have a beautiful selection and their consultants are extremely helpful. They carry a large selection of plus sizes and space appointments out well so you don’t feel rushed or crowded, especially during COVID!
Everyone was so nice! Came here with my sister to try on dresses, they even let her model 2 other ones! Beautiful dresses, even spoke to the manager and she specifically orders plus sizes so that plus size women feel included.
My daughter found her perfect wedding dress here! This was, by far, the most positive, least stressful experience weve had. Our salesperson( Katrina?) was so kind and patient, answering questions, but not pushing in any way. As the appointment progressed, she listened to what my daughter liked and didnt like about each dress. Knowing her stock, she was able to pull different gowns until my daughter was able to narrow her selection to one that checked all the boxes. Prices were so reasonable, we were pleasantly surprised. If the alterations go as smoothly as this appointment, this whole experience will have been golden!
This was such a wonderful experience. Choosing a wedding dress can be overwhelming and stressful but really it shouldnt be! My first stop was Davids bridal and wow was that a mistake!! I was treated rudely and rushed by rude sales people and even a rude manager. As soon as I walked into Ferri Formals the feeling was one of relaxation and ease. The sales people are the so incredibly friendly and kind and so helpful. They make you feel like a Princess. You receive one on one help from amazing women who help you every step of the way. The dresses feel amazing! As soon as you slip them on you can tell they are well made! The material feels high end and these dresses are gorgeous. I highly recommend Ferri Formals to any bride who wants to be pampered and treated special.

After showing up disappointed from a big chain bridal store, my bridal party and I were welcomed by MaryLu with no rushing, no pushing me into anything, and provided with help and immediate assistance. Ferri Formals is such a great place. I got my wedding gown there, and couldnt have asked for a better experience. My first time there we had a private room and Patty helped me pick out and try on dresses. I had my mother and bridesmaid with me and they were so accommodating. I found THE PERFECT gown and couldnt have been happier. Minor alterations were needed and the seamstress was a miracle worker, really wonderful work! Everyone there is super friendly and when I picked up my dress before the big day I got a congratulation and a hug from Marylu. I would recommend this dress/bridal shop to anyone. They dont pressure you to buy and really make an effort to make your experience a great one!
Have had several great experiences with Ferri Formals! Most recently we purchased a prom dress. The staff was pleasant and helpful, (especially Patti). They gave us a great price on a stock dress (not on a special order). Alterations were easy, smooth and even fun. They have a beautiful fitting area downstairs that is nice for photos and really makes a girl feel special. I highly recommend them for any formal wear needs.
I had the pleasure of purchasing my wedding gown at a sample sale in November 2015. A few months later, we returned to purchase my daughters Maid of Honor gown. Each time, the staff at Ferri Formals treated us like royalty! When my daughters dress arrived, we received a hand written note from the salon. The fact that someone took the time to hand write a note was both touching and classy. When I called to make an appointment to try on her gown, the woman on the phone was gracious and extremely helpful! Ferri Formals is a small, class act! They give each client special attention and make you feel special. I will continue to recommend Ferri Formals! I couldnt be happier with their service. Mary Lou and the staff are always kind and helpful, and attentative to final fit. Any adjustments needed were taken care of, the tux fit great and looked great. Much better and more personal experience than with chains.
Affordable, friendly, and clean. I came to Ferris back in the spring looking for my wedding dress and found “the one” at my appointment. The staff were super friendly, and knowledgeable. I also loved how you weren’t sharing the space, or attention, with a dozen other brides, it was just you and the consultant (and whomever you brought along). After finding the dress I also had my alterations done at Ferris. The seamstress did a wonderful job, and the dress fit me like a glove by the end, and the “sleeves” she added on were beautiful!The groom, and the rest of the men, got their tuxes through Ferris, as well. Marylu fit the groom and it came out great. The other tuxes, not fitted by Marylu, were a bit off (too long, too big) and some items had to be reordered (and luckily arrived the day prior to the wedding!).Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend them to others.
As a plus-size bride, I was a little concerned that trying on wedding dresses would be stressful and difficult as most sample sizes carried in-store are 8-10. Before driving and hour and a half to their location, I called and was assured there would be dresses in my size. I was not disappointed! Marylu was beyond wonderful from beginning to end. She was patient and at no time was I pressured to make a decision I wasnt comfortable with. I ended up with the perfect dress that came in well under my budget. I highly recommend Ferri Formals to all brides!
I cant thank the owner and staff at Ferris enough!!! 16 days before my sisters out of state wedding we FINALLY received dresses we ordered from another local shop that were wrong! I called Ferris in a panic and not really thinking they would help me since we didnt originally purchase there. To my surprise the owner was beyond understanding, super quick to call the designer and arrange for new dresses to be sent to her shop. I brought her the wrong dresses and she is getting us the right dresses!!! We leave for the wedding in 8 days. She has completely saved my baby sisters wedding!!! I will forever be thankful for her! She has gone above and beyond to help us clean up a disaster that she didnt cause.. solely out of the kindness of her heart!! A true amazing business owner!!! The shop was clean and gorgeous, everyone working was friendly and so graciously accommodating.
Went here for my friends wedding as a groomsman. There were some mistakes made but they did everything possible to make it right for us the day of the wedding. The owner is very friendly and cares for her craft.
What a great experience thanks to Mary Lou. My husband and I walked into the store the day before a black tie charity event. Mary Lou helped my husband get a tux and shoes that fit him beautifully. I was planning on wearing an old dress from my closet but Mary Lou asked me my size and found a beautiful gown in the back that had just arrived in my size. I went downstairs and a very nice seamstress cut and hemmed the dress to fit me while I waited since I needed it the next day. It was all done so quickly and efficiently. Mary Lou even found some perfect earrings for me and gave my husband a pocket square to match my dress. I would highly recommend Ferri Formals!
Ferri Formals does it all!!! Not only is it a premier bridal boutique, but they also take care of the cleaning, repair, and preservation of one of the most important dresses a girl will ever wear. I recently brought my daughters wedding gown to Ferri Formals to be dry cleaned and preserved, and I left with full confidence that the dress would be handled with tender loving care. This is my favorite place to buy formal dresses, from my high school graduation to my wedding dress and I wouldnt want to go anywhere else. I got engaged while still living in Finland, but immediately I was planning how I could get back home to Schenectady to go to Ferri Formals to pick out my wedding dress. The experience of trying on and picking my wedding dress was wonderful. Fast-forward a few months, to when there ended up being some last minute changes to my wedding date and a threatening winter storm on its way: my Seamstress and the entire team at Ferri was so wonderful and supportive. It really felt like a miracle that they were able to get my dress altered and ready in just a few days so that I could travel with it to my wedding. I highly recommend Ferri Formals to anyone in search or a wedding or other formal gown.

When I got engaged, I knew that Ferri Formals was the right place. All of the staff went above and beyond to assist me as well as my family and members of my bridal party. My bridesmaids purchased their dresses from Ferri Formals and Bridals. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they had a beautiful selection of dresses. One of my bridesmaids found out she was pregnant after she ordered her dress and the size she ordered was too small. The seamstress was able to reconstruct the entire dress to fit her body perfectly! She was so happy and relieved with the end result. I would definitely recommend Ferri Formals.

I had a wonderful experience with Ferri Formals! Many thanks to Mary Lou who located the exact dress I was looking for her. When she called me a couple days later to inform me that the dress was $600 LESS than what it was selling for in my hometown dress shop, I almost fell over! She was honest, efficient, friendly and called me as soon as my dress arrived to the shop. The next day, it was delivered to me, as promised. I was so touched that a complete stranger would go out of her way to help me find the dress I wanted. My daughter, accompanied by her friends and myself, had an appointment last April 2019 at Ferri Formals to find the wedding gown of her dreams! We had the honor of having Marylu as her bridal stylist. We got taken promptly at our appointment time and she greeted us with her beautiful smile! Marylu brought us into a private bridal room, she then consulted with my daughter as to what style dress she was interested in and proceeded to show us numerous selections of gowns and told her to take her time and choose as many gowns as she would like. She personally carried the 10 chosen gowns into the dressing room and assisted my daughter with each of the gowns to try on, thankfully after trying the 5th gown on, my daughter said “yes to the dress”! Marylu gave us her honest opinion when asked and was very patient with all of our questions and made the whole process so easy and carefree! She even assisted me with finding the Mother of the Bride dress on the same day! I highly recommend anyone to go to Ferri Formals and request Marylu! I know that you would also have the most wonderful experience that we had!
With a very low budget I didn’t think I’d be able to find the wedding dress of my dreams. Thankfully I came across Ferri Formals and had Mary Lou help me find the perfect dress in my budget!! Alterations were also done at Ferri Formals and I am so glad I didn’t take it anywhere else. The dress looked like it was made for me!

I highly recommend Ferri Formals and Bridals. After an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience shopping for a wedding dress at a well-known bridal chain, I was ready to buy a dress I didn’t love just to have the whole experience over with. My sister persuaded me to try Ferri’s, where she bought her wedding dress over a decade ago. I’m so glad I took her advice. From the minute I walked in the door, the staff, including the owner, could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I didn’t have a specific style in mind—in fact, I knew very little about what I wanted—but they knew just what questions to ask to figure out what I might like. They showed me a variety of designers and let me look through as many dresses as I wanted, and they selected some for me to try on as well. The fitting room was very spacious and comfortable, and they had a seamstress on hand to pin each dress so I could see exactly how it would look on me. The second dress I tried on was perfect. I felt a little bad that the staff had taken so much time to select a variety of dresses for me and I didn’t even try most of them on! The price was very reasonable, too. I had been afraid that an independent shop like Ferri’s would be more than I wanted to spend, but they offer a wide range of styles and prices. I had the alterations done there as well, and the entire experience was high quality and stress-free from start to finish. If you’re looking for formal or bridal wear, do yourself a favor and visit Ferri’s!
I bought my wedding gown, veil, 5 bridesmaids dresses, rented 5 Tuxedos, and rented a white fox stole for my wedding. The prices were reasonable, and they even gave me discounts for doing all my business with them. They have a top notch seemstress, alterations for all the bridal party were flawless. The staff are attentive to their customers despite how busy they can get. They are good people who run a very busy dress shop, that caters to anyone with a $500 to a $5000+ budget. Very satisfied, we were stunning on our wedding day!
Just left Ferri Formals and had an amazing experience and we said yes to my nieces wedding dress. The owner is so friendly and made us feel like we were the only ones in the shop. We couldnt of found a better price ANYWHERE else hands down. I Highly recommend.
I had an appointment with Marylu with the intention to just try dresses to find which styles I like or dont like to shop more later. Marylu listened to what I liked and didnt like about certain dresses and helped me find some dresses in the shop that fit my vision. I got one-on-one attention from Marylu in a private setting which made me feel so at ease. She worked so well with feedback I gave and helped me narrow down my style. She did such a good job that I couldnt not say yes to my dress and couldnt leave without buying it! I am so pleased with my experience and cant wait to go back for my first fitting!
Today I went into the shop for an event. I was kindly greeted & then I met the kindest soul, Marylu. She didnt know I had a condition but treated me with kindness, compassion & respect. Something lacking these days. The shop is lovely. The bridal gowns are beautiful along with their formal gowns. Nothing beats this level of customer service. I implore you to go to this shop. Youre treated more than just a customer but like a friend. I dont easily compliment but this is beyond well deserved. 💜
We had a great experience with Ferris. With little notice, my daughter was asked to attend a friends prom. The staff was wonderful. Every dress they suggested was beautiful on her. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was so accommodating. They were so hospitable, making us feel as if we were their only customer. Alterations were done timely, and we left with a gorgeous and elegant dress, that looked amazing on her. Many thanks to Marylu and her staff! We cant say enough great things about Ferris, and I am glad to recommend them. With two daughters, we will certainly go back for future proms!
The ladies at Ferri Formals & Bridals are THE BEST! When I came in to get a pageant dress they kindly took as much time as I needed trying on several gowns and going through magazines. We finally picked two gorgeous dresses which were both under $200 ( one was $75 on sale!). I couldnt of asked for better service and the tailoring was quick and seamless (pun intended). Thanks!
Got my wedding dress here after looking at Davids Bridal and really finding nothing within my budget that I really liked.I actually ended up buying a floor model that looked exactly like what I wanted except it did not have straps and it was 8 sizes to big for me haha!It worked out wonderfully once it was tailored and I cannot believe the price that I got on it! Ferri Formals also has a more personalized, comfortable feel and they have a room upstairs where you can try on dresses stress free and not feel like everyone in the whole shop is staring at you like Davids Bridal is.I would highly recommend Ferri Formals- check it out!
We had the pleasure of working with many outstanding vendors to put on our June 2014 wedding. Unfortunately, Ferri Formals & Bridals turned out not to be one of them. We used them for our tuxedo rentals for our wedding party and other participants in the wedding. We had a very good experience selecting the tux style and colors. This is the only reason I am not giving a one star rating. However, it went downhill from there. Multiple groomsmen had issues with providing their measurements and payment information to place their orders. When the tux orders came in, shoes were missing for at least one groomsman, shirts were missing for two groomsmen, and the shirt style was incorrect for all of the rentals. Also, they made it very difficult for out-of-town groomsmen to return their tuxes after our Saturday night wedding because they are not open on Sunday and have no alternative return procedure. The staff did not seem to comprehend how it was not possible for our out-of-town groomsmen to return their tuxes on Monday when they were flying home on Sunday. Fortunately, my now mother-in-law volunteered to return all of the rentals. Overall, I would not recommend Ferri Formals & Bridals for tux rentals.
Professional staff and had a wonderful selection of dresses. I placed an order for 2 dresses. Alterations were no problem and all was done in the timeframe they outlined. Would recommend for prom or bridal. The downstairs fitting area would be perfect for a bridal party. Spacious and comfortable.
As the mother of the bride, I was looking for the perfect dress. My experience with Ferri Formals was a very positive experience. They ordered my MOB gown that came into the shop about 4 weeks before the wedding. I picked up my gown and took it to my local seamstress to be altered…who ruined the gown. There was no way I could wear the dress to my daughters wedding. I was so upset that the local seamstress ruined my very expensive gown. Now I needed to replace the gown in less then 2 weeks. I called MaryLu the shop owner and told her of my dilemma. To make everything right she offered to re-order my MOB gown and include alterations by her seamstress all at no additional cost to me, and in time for the Wedding, they delivered. Ferri Formals is the very best and deserve not 5 stars but 10 stars. MaryLu you are the best!
When I first started looking for my bridal gown, I was not exactly sure what style dress I wanted. I spent many appointments at Ferri Formals & Bridals looking for the perfect gown, and I did. Ferri Formals & Bridals has the BEST selection of dresses and accessories and the BEST staff to assist in choosing the perfect gown for your special day. The staff is always very helpful, knowledgable, and happy to be a part of your special day. Patty was such a big part in choosing dresses that I liked, and had so much patience for the countless dresses that I tried on. Not only that, but she also assisted in finding bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen tuxes for our wedding. Once I found my dream dress, Patty and Mary Lou, the shops owner, were always checking in and making sure everything was perfect. The wedding party all had a wonderful experience and a wide selection to choose from. I also purchased a gorgeous belt from Ferris, which I used as a headband. The best part of my experience with Ferris was that I felt like a part of their family. When I called or stopped in, they all knew me by my first name. When I went for appointments or to preserve my dress after the wedding, everyone asked about our special day, as well as for pictures. Thank you Mary Lou, Patty, and staff for making our wedding day so special, and for making me feel like the most beautiful bride!! :)
Me and my husband were recently married on March 24, 2018. It is our absolute pleasure to review Ferri Formals. Marylu and her staff are truly amazing. She is very welcoming and makes you feel like her only customer. We had a bridal party of 6 Bridesmaids and 6 Groomsmen and they outfitted everyone including us beautifully. Our bridal party could not say enough about the service they received. Marylu has a beautiful shop with a huge selection from wedding dresses to prom to special occasions. What ever you are looking for be sure to make Ferri Formals your first stop, for I am sure it will be your only stop. It was ours. Nothing beats the service and selection at Ferris. The staff is amazingly attentive and the selection is great. They listen to what you want and dont want and dont push you into anything. They picked my bridal gown and it was the first dress I tried on! They are amazing! Thank you Mary Lou and staff!
Although there were bumps along the road when ordering bridesmaid dresses, and I had a sour taste in my mouth from comments made by some of the employees, the owner Marylu called me right away to address these concerns and was nothing but kind to me. A business owner that does this is extremely remarkable. There were a few bridesmaid dresses that were ordered too small and Marylu ordered new ones right away, and some that were too large that she cut the price in alterations. She always tries to make right in tight situations for brides and I am very appreciative of that.
I have used Ferri Formals multiple times for suit rentals and my wife uses them for dress alterations. The suits fit well and my wife is always please with the alterations. Kevin and Marry Lou always do an awesome job!
We bought my daughters prom dress here and had a lovely experience. She found a dress on sale that was lovely and elegant. They shortened it beautifully. Overall an excellent experience. I look forward to renting a tuxedo for my son this spring!
Plenty of selection when looking for wedding dresses! They have everything from ball gowns to tons of lace. It took no time at all for me to find a dress that I loved. Unfortunately, some of their samples are really small (like a size 6) so it did make it difficult when trying things on. I also ordered the guys tuxes from here. They had a huge selection of different colors and types, which made it easy to match colors. The alterations on the tuxes were okay, but two of them were altered too small.
I first went to Ferri Formals and Bridals for my Prom dress in 2000. The staff was very helpful and accomodating to all my needs. After alterations, I felt like a princess in my new gown. The dress was of amazing quality and I find the occasional reason to wear it, Halloween parties, ect.The shop is quaint and quiet. Staff is knowledgeable and understanding of the special needs of all different clientele, whether it is a bride in a destination wedding, an excited prom attendant, a proud mother of the bride or even an insecure bride not confident she will find the perfect dress.I have been satisfied with the dresses and acessories and referred the shop to my friends and family. I still feel the same after helping my friend order her bridesmaid dress there today.
Ferri Formal did such a great job helping me with my search for the perfect wedding gown! I found it within minutes of walking through the door. Everyone there is so helpful and genuinely interested in your wedding day details. My groom and his groomsmen also got there tuxes done there and they were perfect as well. My husband came from out of town and could not try his on until the morning of the wedding. Ferris was very accomodating and made sure he looked great!

My experience here was absolutely great! This was only my second stop when looking for my wedding dress and I fell in love with one and that was it! All of the women that I encountered during my experience there were so incredibly nice and helpful..so much so that I decided to get my bridesmaid dresses here and my husband and his groomsmen got their tuxes as well. They were so careful with every little detail pertaining to measurement and names. We had a couple of the men who had the same name and they made the extended effort to call me to check and make sure before they sent out the order that they had the right details for the correct person. There was many times that I called just curious on how things were going and when things were coming in and they were so nice and understanding and completely answered all of my questions. When the day came for all of us to pick up everything it was nothing but perfection. Everything came in with the right size and color. I had such a pleasant experience for my big day here and I would gladly recommend Ferri Formal to anyone who asks!
I had a vision of my dream wedding dress, a princess ball gown. I tried on about 7 princess dresses and decided that it was not the most flattering for my body type. Patty, the Ferris store manager was helping me. She started pulling an assortment of dresses that I didnt initially pick. In her choices was my dream dress! Somehow Patty knew what I wanted before I did. I didnt want to buy the dress at the first store that I looked at. I went to Somthing Bleu, Angelas, The Bridal Gallery by Yvonne, Jocelyns and Apropo. Although many of the stores were nice, no other staff was as attentive and helpful as they are at Ferris. My mom also bough her dress at Ferris.The entire process was seamless from shopping, buying the dress and the fittings. Patty is fabulous and my experience at Ferris was exceptional.
Give Ferri Formals & Bridals another star! The team of ladies that helped my daughter and I pick; choose; measure; sew; instruct us towards looking just elegant and smashing on Jamies Wedding Day were phenomenal! Hats off to Mailene, the seamstress; Mary-lou; and all the other staff members. No matter how busy of a day it is, they will welcome you and accommodate you with or without an appointment. It was well worth the 50 minute trip from Queensbury, NY to Ferri Formals & Bridals.

This past weekend we had my daughters wedding. We needed 3 Tuxedos, father of the bride (me), her brother and a 6 year old ring bearer. Thanks to Mary Lou and Karen for their patience and knowledge. My tux was the only one that had a small problem, a little snug. We tried on the tuxedos on Wednesday for a Friday night wedding in Lake George. I needed a vest and Mary Lou suggested another jacket also to be safe. These had to be ordered from a company called Tuxedo Junction. The girls stepped up and ordered the vest and jacket and had it shipped to the hotel in Lake George guaranteed delivery before 12 noon. It arrived on time. A big thanks to Mary Lou for handling this. I would definitely do business with Ferri again!
$200 for a wedding rental, 3 days before wedding the pants are missing, and 2 of the 3 pieces that came in were the wrong sizes. Quality was very poor, I could probably sew one better myself. Would not recommend at all for any occasion.
I loved coming to ferri’s for my wedding dress. My sister came hear and as did my cousin. They both looked beautiful and I wanted to do the same. Well I did I looked like a million bucks. The kind staff hear and the worm atmosphere is why Ferri’s is an ideal place to buy a dress.
I had to change my review of Ferris for a few reasons. I bought a sample sale bridal gown in February that I liked but did not love. Less than 24 hours later, I contacted the shop and asked if I could return it because I knew it wasnt the dress for me after sleeping on it. I was told that it was a final sale. I tried to ask if I could get store credit so I could purchase a different dress. They told me that if so, it could only be used toward other sample gowns already in stock (not new gowns, accessories, or any bridesmaids dresses). I had paid for the dress in full and was surprised at this response. I picked up the dress today, having been told it was cleaned and mended (a corset loop needed to be reattached). It had been mended, but it clearly was not spot cleaned or cleaned well. I noticed spots on the train and showed them to the associate. I mentioned that I had communication from Tammy, one of the associates there, that it had been cleaned. I was told she no longer works there so they couldnt check with her. I was given no paperwork, other than word of mouth to prove it had been cleaned when I picked it up. Would never do business there again!!!
Ferri Formals was great. Marylu was very helpful with finding the dress i needed or my cousins wedding. It was a very pleasant experience and would recommend to any one trying to find the perfect formal attire. will go back!

We are huge advocates of supporting small locally owned businesses. However, I cannot in good faith provide a positive recommendation for Ferri Formals. I rented tuxedos for a special upcoming event for my sons. Even the initial fitting left us feeling uneasy...but we went through with the order, hoping our experience would improve. After all, a place that does bridal alterations should certainly be able to handle doing measurements for a tux. The tux for one son came in with pants and jackets not fitting - at least 2 sizes too small (and it was not because he had grown since the fitting)...the second sons tux came in without pants - which the vendors did not check until too late. What a waste of time - complete lack of quality at this shop. I am now left scrambling at the last minute to get them outfitted somewhere else...an awful experience.
My wife purchased her wedding dress at this place after visiting about a dozen other places. Had a wonderful experience. Great service, very helpful staff, courteous and caring. Great options and prices. We are very grateful and recommend this shop to every bride.

I walked in with out an appointment and they took us right in. They were amazing to work with and very helpful. We got the wedding dress and 3 brides maids dresses. We were very happy and I would definitely recommend them to anybody.

Ive heard other people have had bad experiences here, but I have not. I bought my wedding dress here and have visited with others to get prom dresses. The staff is helpful and friendly. We were also given a private room to try things on.
They were extremely helpful, they special ordered my sisters prom dress.. It came in super quick and the alterations were done very quickly and professionally. I would recommend them!
Service was fine but, I’m curious... is it standard procedure to be in the dressing room with the bride? I’ve been to other boutiques and never has anyone come in the actual dressing room with me. Hopefully someone else can share their experience with me.
5 star rating for a 5 star experience! The help was always on their toes in making sure we receieved everything we needed for the big day! I will never forget there was a button missing on one of the tuxs and an employee got in her car and and drove to the site, sewed the button on and made sure the groomsman was ready to go! Highly recommended !
Hard to find service like this these days. I can’t recommend the shop enough. We tried a lot of places in the area, and this was the only one that felt comforting. I won’t be going anywhere else in the future.

Dont buy a dress here and if you do dont let them alter it. After my daughter being measured 3 times they still couldnt get it right. And they have the nerve to charge for their mistakes every time they got it wrong. I do not recommend then at all.

2022-01-26Went here after first going to David’s Bridal. Knowing David’s is a big box store, I very very wrongly assumed they would have more selection at better prices. I was HAPPILY wrong. Ferri Formals and their staff are absolutely amazing. I worked with Talia (sorry if I spelled that wrong). She was beyond helpful, so nice and even stayed after closing hours to accommodate indecisiveness. She made the process so very easy. I went in looking for a budget wedding dress and left with the dress of my dreams for only $99! I found so many budget dresses that were all absolutely gorgeous, I couldn’t believe it. Have not gotten the tailoring done yet but so far recommend 10/10 for all brides!

2022-01-25I have been there twice, once for doing research on bridesmaids dresses for my friend across the country and once more for my own wedding dress. Clothing shopping is not a favorite of mine due to my size but they made me feel wonderful. Im sad I didnt buy my wedding dress from them but Im excited to use them for my fitting as they were wonderful the other times I have been. If you lack in the self confidence department, they truly are wonderful and know how to navigate emotions for sure

2021-11-28Ferri Formals and Bridals is a great shop with reasonable prices and so much variety in size and style. The location was convenient for me, so they ended up being the only place I went to shop for my wedding dress. When I was trying on dresses and searching for the perfect one, I never felt rushed or pressured. It was such a fun experience and they made me feel so special. I took my dress home with me and brought it back a few months before my wedding for alterations. I had my dress taken in quite a bit and it was still a little big on top after alterations. They did even more alterations and told me I could pick it up 2 days before my wedding. That was stressful, but they assured me it would be ready and that there would still be time left for more alterations if needed. They pulled it off and I was happy with how well my dress fit me. My husband and his Best Man rented their tuxes from Ferri Formals and the process was very easy for them. They also altered my Maid of Honor dress, even though it was purchased from somewhere else. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with Ferri Formals and Im looking forward to having them clean and preserve my dress!

2022-06-04I went shopping here today to watch my future sister in law try on wedding dresses. I forget the saleswoman’s name but she was AMAZING. She was not pushing for something my sister in law wasn’t interested in and let her figure out what she liked and was so sweet! She definitely put her time and effort into this fitting and was very professional. I would recommend this place for sure!

2021-11-25I wanna say I love this place here for dresses . The staff are very nice , welcoming ,and helpful when finding the perfect dress for your special day . I’m getting married on October 12th and I brought my dress in to get it altered on September 28th (ik it was short noticed ) but they took time out of there schedule to make my alterations perfect . I came in today for my second fitting and I am beyond happy how my wedding dress came out . I am going to be a true princess :) . I wanna say thank you Ferris formal and bridals for making time to make my wedding dress perfect for my special day 💕 . 2021-09-13I had gone to a few different bridal shops before here and none came close to the quality and variety at Ferris. Everyone I worked with were wonderful and I never felt rushed or pressured. They had a large variety of dresses and were very accommodating to work with. All of the staff were genuinely interested in hearing about your wedding and helped look for your perfect dress. They have more than one gorgeous area to try on dresses and really makes you feel like a special bride! I highly recommend!

2022-03-28My experience was negative. Im actually surprised at all of the positive reviews after my time there and experience. I will not be ever going back here. I made an appointment months ahead and had even filled out a page I received via email, about my budget and style of dresses i liked. But apparently that doesnt do anything so dont bother and if you have a budget…Dont bother. I told them i had a certain budget and they brought me several dresses that were 2x over my budget. I felt humiliated because of the fact i had a budget and it seemed to keep being a big problem. I asked to see the Cheaper dresses that were in my budget and i also asked about clearance dresses because they had advertised some beautiful dresses all over their social media for reasonable prices! Well thats just to pull you in. Because we had to ask 5 times to see these dresses and each time she said she would bring some. Well every time she brought dresses, they were not even in my size…. And i had already tried on 3 dresses so she knew my size. So finally my step mother asked again if it was okay if we just went to take a look at the dresses, she finally agreed and surprise we found 3 in my size down there and in the style i came for. I cannot begin to explain how upset/anxious and uncomfortable i felt especially when i received a comment about my chest not fitting in the dress numerous times. I was close to tears. Not to mention i was only there an hour and i was told “well our next appointment is here so you can just think about this one and come back”. So i was basically being kicked out after only an hour. I knew from the second i wasnt being listened too about what i was looking for in a dress i needed to leave but i gave it a shot and was let down anyways. We left and went to davids bridal and i had the appointment i had dreamt of and found the dress of my dreams. I never leave bad reviews and usually just let things go but i should have never had to feel this way on such a special day that i was SO excited for.

2020-01-11Ferri Formal and Bridal (and specifically MaryLu), got me the dress of my dreams for the absolute greatest wedding day ever! In January of 2018 I began looking at dresses at multiple stores in MA for my December 2019 wedding. One of the first dresses I ever tried on was a Lillian West dress that I loved- style 6422…. But, it being one of the very first I tried, I didn’t think it could be the one. At my next dress shopping trip, I purchased a different dress.In between January of 2018 and December of 2019 I just knew in my gut that I had bought the wrong dress for me and my vision for my wedding day. At the beginning of December I began frantically searching everywhere on the internet for a used Lillian West dress I could buy in time for my wedding at the end of the month. I found Ferri Formal and Bridal online because they were having a Lillian West trunk show. I contacted them inquiring about the dress and Marylu was the KINDEST woman ever. She heard my crazy story, helped me order a NEW Lillian West dress within my budget and was very patient with my fears and worries about the short timeline.There were 2 weeks to go until my wedding when my dress came in and arrived at the store. I drove to NY and MaryLu and team arranged for it to be altered THAT VERY DAY! I am so grateful for MaryLu’s kindness, help and support!
