Rented one of these Cottages for a girls weekend. All 6 of us had a blast! Lovely cottage and provided pretty much anything we would need (except food of course) The weather was way too cold and windy but they also have boats we could have rented. We are hoping to make this a yearly girls trip so maybe next time we will go when the weather is warmer. Pretty close to some cool wineries to check out and even found an Antique barn and a couple cute little gift/craft shops and did some shopping. If you are looking for a little getaway (or a big one) with a cozy place to stay and a wonderful view of the lake...I highly recommend Ferryland Cottages! Worth every penny and cant wait to visit again! :)
We have been staying with at Ferryland Cottages at least once a year for over 6 years. Jan understands that for some people vacations wouldnt be the same without their dog and so her cottages are dog friendly. We enjoy taking our dogs to the many parks nearby. Pine and Maple cottages are perfect for peace and quiet and you couldnt ask for a better waterfront location on a quiet cove. We will continue to stay here for many years to come. Jan is very friendly and is genuinely happy to see other people enjoying the cottages.
Wonderful place for vacation! My family and I had a great time here. My little kid wants to revisit this place as he enjoyed the campfire just in front of such a beautiful lake. The fireplace in the living room was also very nice. Of course the host was very responsive and gave us lots of useful information!
We stayed for a weekend at the end of October. My friends and I had a blast. We will definitely be back, We would like to make it a yearly trip. The wine tours were a lot of fun too.Jan was very accomodating and made sure we had everything we needed.I highly recommend this place to try it out.
Husband and I went for the weekend. We knew there had been flooding. However we did not know until the night before our entire beach view would be obscure by the huge Aqua Dam that was in place. See the photos from Sodus Point. Our agent Jan informed us the night before and there was no time to make other arrangements. The failure to disclose this information was upsetting. We came for the beach view! Jan offered no discount or reimbursement for the rental. Had there been a view of the water without the Aqua Dam it would have been fine. The cottage was fine and the location was fine. The obstructed view should have been disclosed sooner and there should have been some sort of discount as we did not get what we paid for. It is poor customer service and lack of accountability. My husband and I enjoyed our time and were happy to support the local economy. We are really disappointed in how this was handled and will continue to share our experience.
My family visited Pine Cottage at the end of June 2022. The house was clean and well maintained. Jan really cares about her place. Everything was fully stocked from shampoo, conditioner and body wash to kitchen spices, pots and pans. We could not have been more comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us all week. Jan was wonderful, she told us about local things to do and even left us a little gift basket upon our arrival! This was our first time visiting and are already planning a return trip! Could not have asked for a better vacation!

2020-08-19Great place to stay with family/friends with beautiful view of the lake. Its a nice quiet area to relax and enjoy. Kids loved using the kayaks/paddle boats when the water was calm and the breeze in the evening was spectacular. Jan was very responsive and attentive to any needs that arose. I advise to bring bug spray, as the mosquitos had a feast, but it may have been due to a full day of rain and the kids going in and out of the cottage, leaving the screen doors open. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time. Looking forward to staying again.

2021-07-20The privacy and view exceeded our expectations! The gas fire pit was convenient and we used it nightly. The property is kept up well and we found ourselves using the beachfront daily and the deck as well. There were plenty of kayaks, boats, paddles and lifejackets for our entire family (there are 5 of us)! Jan was a good host and was available to talk at any time. We will make this our vacation spot every year now! (This was a first time stay for us). We also loved the food stand (more like a market!) is full of surprises and treats! We loved stopping every time we left the property!

2019-06-12We stayed for the weekend in early June. The house had plenty of room for our family of 8. I liked having a place that was tucked back away from busier tourist areas and having the lake right outside our door was a huge bonus!! The water was quite cold yet but we really enjoyed soaking in the views and playing alongside the water. I was ecstatic that you could get both the sunrise and sunset views over the water!! Great place for a quiet, family-friendly, getaway.

2021-02-23What a great weekend get away! The road is well off the beaten path, quiet and fairly private. The house is warm and so cozy. All furniture was great for lounging, many pillows and blankets. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need, the water is hot, open living/dining room/den, windows facing the water, we saw a fox run down the shoreline! Hiking and cross country skiing right out the front door. We played lots of games around the table in the windowed corner. The gas wood stove heated the place so quickly and was great to nap in front of. The bedrooms are separated for nice privacy between couples. Even in winter, its just so nice to watch the water. And Jan is truly a super host. Highly recommend!

2021-01-04This cabin is so so so cozy. plenty of space and RIGHT on the water. gas fireplace inside and a fire pit right on the water. it feels so incredibly secluded even though there are neighbors close by. But no noise at night except for the sound of waves crashing on the coast. The area is so dark at night and there are tons of interesting paths to hike along... including a historic girl scout camp thats no longer used but part of the park network. The entrance to the cabin area is along a private road thats easy to navigate and secluded. The cabin is very very clean and cozy. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs every morning watching the lake and snow coming down. We stayed around Christmas and it was just perfect. Look no further. This is a fantastic place and very much well-worth the price.

2021-12-05Both cottages are gorgeous and the owner is installing a hot tub for next year. 😍 I love that she puts money back into the cottages to ensure that the experience is the best and meets the highest standards. Would recommend this to my closest friends.

2021-07-13We loved our stay at Ferryland Cottage! The house was very clean and we had everything we needed for our stay with extra bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen supplies as needed. The view of the water from the house was so beautiful and it was a dream to see everyday. We loved going down to the water and enjoyed the row boat provided on the water and making a fire pit at night close to the water in the backyard. Jan, the host went above and beyond with making sure we had everything we needed and told us about great things to do and see around the town too. She even mailed us our phone charger when we left it there. We loved staying here with a couple other friends (4 people total) and we look forward to hopefully coming back again!

2020-10-20My husband and I stayed 4 nights at Jans Ferryland Cottage at the end of Sept 2020. Jan welcomed us upon our arrival and gave us a quick tour. She even had some local apples and a bottle of their local hard cider waiting for us on the kitchen table. Although we were only 2, there was enough room in this small cottage to sleep 8+!! We ate out on the back deck overlooking Lake Ontario watching the sun go down and the moon rise. It was so relaxing! The bed was very comfortable too! We also made a fire each night. When we mentioned to Jan that wed like to hire someone to take us out fishing, she introduced us to her friends Ralph and Theresa who had a boat. They were the nicest folks and we too became quick friends. Each day brought new adventures, hiking, exploring, wine-tastings and more. I highly recommend this adorable cottage to anyone who is looking for a clean, well-kept, breath-taking views and a warm welcome!

2020-07-26We had an absolutely amazing time staying the week here. Everything is welcoming, amenities of home, comfortable beds and futons plus the setting is breathtaking! Jan has provided everything to make her place a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Some of our adventures: Swimming for hours each day, kayaks, canoe, a hike to the frog pond and towards the state park, dinner in town and souvenirs and fudge to bring home. We didn’t want to leave and miss the sound of the waves already. We were so relaxed and happy - we’re hoping to become return renters for years to come! Thank you so much Jan for sharing your slice of paradise with us!!!

2020-11-02Great place to get away with beautiful view of the lake. Its a nice quiet area to relax and enjoy. The cottage is equipped with just about anything you might need. Unfortunately, it rained pretty much all during my stay. I was able to explore some of the local places, including one of the nearby breweries. I also enjoyed the fire pit a couple of evenings when the rain let up. Even with inclement weather I had a wonderful, restful time. Looking forward to staying again, hopefully with better weather so I can experience more outdoor activities as well as the beautiful sunrises/sunsets.
