The name of this bagel shop should be last resort bagels, they had the worst bagel Ive had in a really long time. All of the people in previous reviews that said it is the best bagel shop on Long Island must have never left their block because this isnt even the best bagel shop in the area. That would be wallys bagels. For those who want to try the actual best bagel on Long Island go to Gabbys Gourmet Bagels in Woodbury.
Absolutely my favorite bagel store on Long Island. The bagels are always fresh and they have so many options. Super clean too. My wife and I stop for lunch at least twice a week, and the staff always treats us so nicely, plus they are so generous with their portions. Love the atmosphere, food, and the people, could not ask for a better lunch spot. Great bakery too.
Their bagels are good but thats about it. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and it was very disappointing. 2 pieces of wilted lettuce on a dry stale roll for $9.75. The young lady at the counter was very unfriendly as well, just overall not a good experience. Ill come back here for bagels if I have to, or just buy their salads and put it on bread at home
Best bagels on Long Island. The line is often out the door and the counter setup is a little akward. Everything they make is the best version Ive ever had. The bakery items are top notch as well. Worth the lines and the above average prices. The employees are always super friendly as well. Adequate seating to eat in.
I don’t normally come to this part of town but since my son lives in deer park NY I have found myself visiting a lot more often. Every time I visit I make it a priority to stop at First Class Bagels in Deer Park. I bring bagels and pastries back for my family and friends every time and they all can’t get enough. I have never been disappointed by this staff. I am always treated with kindness and respect, and they get my order perfect every time! Everything here is delicious. I highly recommend it! I think even if my son moved out of deer park I would make the drive anyway!
They catered a family brunch at our house this weekend. We got bagels, cookies, wraps, muffins, sandwiches, and coffee. To say at the least, the food was incredible. They gave us exactly what we wanted at an extremely fair price. The service and the food never disappoints!Thank you!
The service and the food are fantastic. This place was recommended by my friend and Im only staying here for a month, Theres a blonde Asian lady that always coincidentally takes my order. I always get an egg sandwich and she really makes it perfectly. Unfortunately she was not at work earlier. Hope you guys send my gratitude.
My favorite go-to spot for excellent bagels!!The sandwiches are all overstuffed and delicious!! Quite a varied menu and the best selection of different types of bagels. The store made cream cheeses are all very tasty. Muffins, pastries and cookies are all very good. Ready to go selection of salads and wraps in an open cooler case. A wide variety of drinks in a refrigerated section. Plenty of seating.
I love this place! The bagels, egg sandwiches, breakfast platters, freshly chopped salads & the cookies and cakes baked on premises are ALL awesome!! We eat here 3-4 times a week. Never disappointed! Staff is super friendly and the service is quick even when the line is out the door.
Best bagel shop on Long Island. They have a bakery that you would never expect to see in a bagel store either. Most delis have some muffins and cookies, but this place has a full blown bakery with the craziest cakes, cannolis, fruit pastries, and a ton of other stuff too. Its also always so clean and the staff is very friendly.
Love the bakery & deli/salad bar selection.they have my favorite hard to find cookies,so I actually try not to go there regularly so I dont get tempted. Above average food for typical Long Island deli on every other corner. Bagels are pretty good, have good selection fresh all day.
To start off, I hate giving bad reviews, but I think this one is important. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, there were so many options and the person who served me behind the counter was very kind. However, there was ABSOLUTELY NO SOCIAL DISTANCING ENFORCED. Management allowed for a very spacious area to become cramped and crowded and let customers ignore their social distancing stickers. They let customers crowd around the register and didnt have clear waiting places marked. I got some rude comments from the ladies behind the counter about standing in the middle near the register, even though there was no where marked to stand and several people were crowding near the right register. A customer even pulled down their mask next to me and started talking to the employees. The wait was long, but our server was kind enough to give us some cookies for our inconvenience, which was really nice! This place would have my 5 stars 100% if it wasnt for the clear disregard of costumer and employee safety through the lack of social distancing measures.
This is our go to spot for bagels/ breakfast. They serve eggs all day, have lots of different options for breakfast and lunch. I love that they have the pre made salads/ wraps or the salad bar and the deli/ grill. They also have some pretty good cookies/ pastries. Their prices arent crazy either like some of these other places. I paid $9 for two bacon egg and cheese.
Husband went to get breakfast, ordered breakfast platter. Supposed to come with 2 eggs, meat, homefries and bagel. When I opened it, there were no homefries. I called and was told, some people dont want them and if you dont say homefries you dont get platter price, everything is billed individually. When I told them it was ridiculous, I was hung up on!!! With a bagel store on every corner, you can be sure I WONT be back!!!!
So disappointed in this place! The gentlemen serving me had a loose bandana over his face, pulled it down behind the counter to make my bagel and talked over to associate, then pulled it back up to hand me my bagel. I said something and was ignored. What is the sense of wearing anything if you pull it down or not fitted properly. WILL NOT GO BACK...wonder if anyone is wearing a mask when the public is not there!
Easy to see right off of Deer Park Avenue servicing Deer Park and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Weekly food and drink specials. Cash discount. Great staff. Credit cards accepted. We will definitely be going back.Thank you to Keith the owner for responding. We look forward to patronizing your establishment again soon.ESJ
Edit from my original 2 star rating:I was in a pinch one morning decided to swing by this location. I expressed to the employee how I have had issues in the past and the employee behind the counter was extremely understanding. She must have been aware that it has happened to others in the past due to how understanding and caring she was. She ensured me that everything would come out perfectly. Which it did! I come here every week now. They now take more care writing down the order instead of trying to just memorize it. This establishment realized their faults and are making strides to improve.Dont leave this place without checking to make sure your order is correct! Ive had my order messed up two times in a row! I hate to pay extra for something to be put on my sandwich and it not be there
Prices are not posted on the signs. I order an everything bagel with cream cheese and bacon. $7.85 they charged me, I feel like thats a little much. My usual deli does everything bagel with eggs, bacon, cheese with a coffee for $8.00. I bought 2 everything bagels with cream cheese and bacon, one danish one coffee and one ice tea and i walked out of there with like a $30 bill. For that price im better off going to the diner. Do yourself a favor and ask for the price of bagels before you order anything.
I used to go there all the time the food and service was great. Now when you try to place an order for pick up they either say no or say it will take 45 mins before you can come get it and encourage you to come in the saying the line is moving quickly , but when you get there the line is almost by the door. They no longer seem to be interested in customer service. I waited over 30 mins for an egg sandwich. NOT WORTH IT ANYMORE!
As we all know, Long Island has the best bagels in the game. And over the years of being born and raised on the island, First Class Bagels is the absolute best bagel store. Whenever my mother got bagels for the weekend, I always knew which store she went to. It was either Steves bagels or First Class and I would PRAY for first class lmao. Their bagels are soft and crunchy at the same time and the staff is great. Their bakery items are also really good and I would definetely reccomend their oreo cookie cake, 10/10. I for sure miss this place since Ive moved down south, but I know for a fact whenever Im back on Long Island im eating here!
Used to be good. If you like to wait 20min to have your order done incorrectly this is the place for you. Last 3 times incorrect order when i got home. Bagels also were undercooked with the middle being a little raw. The Plain bagels were sweet.. I guess a spin on the ingredients. Not for me. Im gonna have to drive to wallys in NB.
I live fairly close to First Class Bagels, so naturally Ill visit from time to time for a nice breakfast. Its one of those places that you walk into and almost get taken back by how much stuff is available. There are a ton of pastries, cakes, cookies, bagels, and pretty much anything else you could find in a deli, bagel store, or bakery.A lot of the items available look and taste alright. Yeah, just alright. The food and baked goods are not really anything special once you bite into them, but I really dont have a problem with that, seeing the price isnt overly ridiculous. The only major issue with this place is the service. On multiple occasions Ive been given an attitude by the cashiers for any number of reasons, the most aggravating being their almost refusal to make a Custom order. My custom order was a sandwich they had on their menu, but on a bagel instead of a hero. The mere notion of it resulted in a disgusted look on the womans face and she threw a miniature tantrum before finally caving in and making it.All in all, theres no reason not to stop by if youre in the area, but dont ever go out of your way to go here.
I take my children here everyday after Taekwondo and they can’t gwt enough. softest fattest plump fluffy bagels i’ve ever eaten, and their cookies and bakery food are scrumptious. the meats in the deli are on point and it’s the best of the best. 5 stars. can’t get better than this place guys for real for real
Saw knats flying around the bagels and foods.Nice staff but not worth the expensive prices in my opinion. Theres better options up the road & around the corner. I need to add this was one of my first visits back after finding a rubber band in my food several years back (when I was a regular, loyal customer).
It’s usually pretty crowded because they’re in high demand so the wait time is usually 5-10 minutes. The staff is very kind and after a while they’ll remember you and your order. I like the food but I find it bland sometimes. I usually only order breakfast so maybe that’s why. Also the drinks are overpriced so keep that in mind when visiting
Bagels are good, but their East Northport store was just renovated to look like a swanky bistro, while the Deer Park location got some maroon paint slapped over chipped Formica. So maybe you should drive all the way to the other location if you don’t want to feel like you’re eating in a crumbling 1980s McDonalds. Or maybe they’d like to change this location’s name to 3rd Class Bagels or Steerage Bagels, so we’ll better know our place.
They have a decent array of sandwiches. I like the place as a deli rather than a bagel place. I have found that the bagels are doughy, which probably means theyre not cooked as much as I prefer them to be cooked. Theyre tends to be very long lines weekend mornings and any lunchtime. I dont think that their food preparation production is up to the amount of customers they have and so you should be prepared to wait 20 minutes to get an order prepared during peak hours. Also a note of caution if you were looking to buy bagels and lox for the family for a weekend morning, a tradition for many families, their price per pound on sliced nova and hand packed cream cheese is jaw droppingly high. And if you get the lox sliced to order it takes a very long time. The pricing on the cream cheese and the lox is so extreme, I have taken to buying cream cheese and lox at ShopRite in Commack where they have sliced lox to order. Its half the price.
I called to place an order and my son changed his mind so I politely apologized and said I will call you right back to not keep him on hold and when I called back he said to me oh youre gonna place an order now?! I said to my husband that I cant belive he just said that. Then he told me thats right I did say that! So I told him never mind that I will just call somebody else and he hung up on me. What awful customer service! I will never go there again! Not to mention that they are extremely over priced!
I have been going in here once a week for about 6 Months and my breakfast is wrong every other time. But I keep trying because when you walk in the selection is amazing and every thing looks delicious. But I am disappointed every time by the potatoes that come with an omelet. Probably made once a week and barely reheated. The toast is barely toasted. The omelets have all the right ingredients, but poorly executed. So much potential, just need to add that love to the cooking.
There egg sandwitches do deserve the 4 stars its great food. At the same time the wait time is just aweful they have to work on there efficiency or something. And if you call in a order whats the point of having to wait in a line to pick up your Finished food I want to pay and leave.
The first time I went there I ordered rainbow bagels with cream cheese for my kids and omelette with whole wheat toast for myself, well there was only one person before me it wasnt busy and I waited at least 20 minutes or more for my order, but I was ok with that as long as the bagels and food were worth the wait, well it wasnt. My kids said the bagels were hard and chewy and they put a thin layer of cream cheese on them, my kids didnt eat them, and also with my omlette being that it was to go I would have expected a knife and fork, I got none and they forgot the butter on my toast, lol for the money I paid I couldve went to the cheaper smaller bagel store and it wouldve been better. I didnt totally write them off though I went back to get sweets from there bakery today and I figured there probably good, I got 2 cannolis and a rainbow cupcake for my 7 year old. The cannoli cream in them were really bitter it was weird Ive never tasted anything quite like that after one bite me and my husband were scared we were gonna get sick and threw it out, it tasted like a chemical in it or something very bitter and gross, my kid was ok with her cupcake though but honestly she didnt finish it all either but she said she liked her cupcake. All in all horrible experience with there food both times I would never go back. No 3rd chances.😔
Why does this place not put salt on their everything bagel? This is the only bagel store i know that does that. There bagels are good for the most part but dont expect to get them warm, they are cold and are laying there all day so not good enough for me not to go to the supermarket and buy them for half the price.
Im completely disgusted and done with them. I just went in, gave my order of a couple of muffins to a sweaty slow kid behind the counter, and watched him wipe the sweat from under his nose and down his face with the palm of his hand. I then watched him open the case with the muffins and grab a muffin to wrap for me WITH THE SAME SWEAT LADEN UNGLOVED HAND!! Grabbing the top of the muffin with the palm of his hand. Did I mention ungloved? For the up charge they have on everything in there, youd think theyd at least be able to buy a box of gloves for the employees to use. Or, if thats too much to ask for maybe just review basic food safety and hygiene with them.
I called in a break order bagel was on and sandwich was ok nothing great had to wait on a line for a while to pay for food that been called in but I went there for lunch grabbed a salad form the all ready made food counter had 2 people in front of me had to wait almost 20 min just to pay for a drink and salad I will never go back here into this placePlus people are little nasty attitude and no one got gloves on

2022-03-29My go to bagel spot! I’ve tried many and coming from queens I still loved this place for bagels! I’ve tried Wally’s bagels and still come to this place. I’m not a huge fan of their pastries, they’re ok, and other menu items but they do bagels well! Not only is the variety insane for bagels, but the cream cheeses as well! Manager is super helpful and kind as well as the rest of the staff. Def depends on who’s making my bagel, but for the most part it comes out great.

2021-11-07This place is the best. We moved but will still drive here to get bagels. Lots of varieties of cream cheeses. A lot of baked treats too. Danish, tarts, cupcakes, regular cakes. Egg sandwiches. Chopped salads. Lunch sandwiches. They even had toilet paper during the pandemic when nobody else did! Great staff. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back.

2021-05-29This was only my 2nd or 3rd time coming here because theyre not that close to me but I love ❤theyre food. I had a everything flagel with scallion cream cheese. It was so good. They also sell a ton of different things and desserts. They have a huge menu & a huge beverage selection. 😋 They are open super early because they are a bakery as well. The service is always great. My boyfriend didnt like how much the girl toasted his flagel. So she made him a new 1 with no problem. I definitely will come back again in the future!

2022-05-24This place is a ripoff paid 9.00 for a bagel with cream cheese and bacon, that’s basically the most expensive bagel to date ever and the miserable guy behind the counter tried to justify it….. save your money there’s a lot of other stores for more than half that price. Have a nice day don’t waste your money would definitely not recommend this place ever…..would give it zero stars if I could…..

2019-10-31Outstanding Italian Wedding Soup. Pastries looked amazing, but I didnt try them this time. Dining area was a bit crowded - too many tables. Im sure they need them when there is a crowd. Lovely people waiting on us.

2022-04-30I was a little disappointed I ordered a sandwich on a rainbow bagel BUT the young lady that made the sandwich forgot the take the plastic wrapping off the pepperoni and sliced the meat and put it on my sandwich I got home and at it and was hacking up the plastic that was caught in my throat!! Not cool!!

2018-09-03I have only been here a handful of times and each time is a disappointment. I am definitely not going to return. Today i ordered a buffalo chicken panini. One would assume that would mean pieces or chunks of buffalo chicken covered in buffalo sauce. Instead they used chicken cold cuts and a drop of hot sauce. It was very dry and bland. In addition, it was not on your typical panini bread with the grill marks. It was on a seeded sort of onion roll. I could have just made that at home. If you are looking for a traditional buffalo chicken panini, dont come here for it. You will be highly disappointed. Google Buffalo chicken panini to see what a real one looks like.

2022-02-21Thae variety here is numerous. The food is very good. Only negative is the wait time. They take extra long and there is usually a line and wait time
