This is a truly amazing store with a great selection and quality merchandise.BE AWARE THAT THE SALESPEOPLE ARE NOT WEARING MASKS AND TELL ME THAT ITS BECAUSE THEYRE VACCINATED. Im assuming they dont care if customers are either. If you dont care, this is a great place.
Could not have had a better experience. Making an appointment for a fitting online was super simple. The manager, Larae (sorry for spelling!) was knowledgeable and very welcoming. Turns out that despite running for 30 years, I was in the wrong shoe. Walked out in new ones and immediately tackled 6 miles on the West Side highway at nearly 2 min/ mile faster than I was doing in my old shoes! Can’t recommend enough.
I came here to try out a pair of shoes and get advice on fit, and the two saleswomen were wonderfully helpful. Without being pushy, the woman helping me gave me information about the shoes and patiently made recommendations and retrieved various pairs for me to try on. The other saleswoman was doing her own thing, but when I had a question about Brooks’ shoe guarantee which my helper wasn’t familiar with, this other one looked it up online and had the answer for me right away. I didn’t buy anything because I recently bought running shoes from another store and just wanted to compare, but even so the saleswomen were perfectly gracious and I’ll absolutely be coming here for my running needs next time.
Excellent service. Recently started running again and was fitted with the perfect shoes for me thanks to Jonathan. So comfortable I suggested my husband try a pair. Returned with him and he bought the same pair. Because I had signed up as a loyalty customer I received $20 off on his pair. Very happy.
Best shopping experience all year! Jonathan was the most knowledgeable and patient retail associate I’ve experienced all year. I tried on numerous shoes and took them for a test run in the store. I found the perfect shoes thanks to Jonathan. I’ll be back and will bring my family of runners with me.
Picked this place due to the good reviews and I was not disappointed! The woman who helped me out was really great. Knowledgeable, thorough, and friendly. They have this super cool device thingy you step on and it tells you about your arch etc. and helps you pick better shoes/insoles. Found out I have high arches which I never knew! Happy with my purchase and will return when I need something else!
Good staff. Good enough collection of shoes for me. I needed extra wide shoes and was finding it hard to get on Amazon at a reasonable price. They had a few at an unbelievable price at the UWS jack rabbit. Of course, this was during the holiday season. Still, weve decided to make this our family shoe shop for the time being.
I was accidentally overcharged on an item that I purchased online for in-store pickup and didn’t realize until I got home. I called and was told they would look into it. Sam called me back to follow up and help me get a refund for the difference in price over the phone. I love Jack Rabbit, and especially this location, because it feels like a small mom-and-pop shop and they really care for their customers.
My girlfriend was in a pinch with a cruddy pair of boots after loads of walking. We got to Jackrabbit right as she was about to give out in search of a high quality, reasonably priced pair of walking shoes, and a female employee there set us up right away and was ridiculously helpful and attentive. Got some great shoes in very little time and she even gave us some recommendations for some quiet sit down places in the area to take a breather after purchasing the shoes. Amazing customer service, not something she and I are used to back home in New Orleans. Thanks a bunch, yall!!!
Sales team was friendly, patient, and helpful. I bought my first pair of running sneakers here a year ago and I love them! I have also signed up for one of their running classes (out of the 14th street store), which was a great experience and definitely boosted my endurance and confidence.
Im disappointed and a little angry.I moved to NYC a year ago and needed a good place to buy running shoes. My first visit to the 72nd St. store went well; a very nice fellow--older (as in my age or so) helped me buy a good pair of shoes very similar to my old pair of shoes. Great experience all around. This store is fairly close to where I live, so I was happy to have a running home in NYC.Second visit: I went in search of insoles. Went fine--nothing special. Based on these two visits together Id give the store five stars.Third visit: My teenage son needed a pair of running shoes, so I took him by. I had an appointment nearby, so I just left in the hands of the staff--specifically, a very helpful-seeming mature guy who appeared to be a serious runner. He appeared to be offering attentive, careful service. When we met up later at home, I discovered that my son, who wears a size 10.5/11, had been sold a pair of womens shoes--in womens size 11!There are so many things wrong with this. First, although my son commented on the pastel color, he had no idea hed been sold womens shoes. YOU DO NOT SELL A TEENAGE BOY WOMENS SHOES WITHOUT DISCUSSING IT WITH HIM--WITHOUT EXPLAINING THE REASONS WHY. Next, how could they possibly sell him a womens 11, roughly the equivalent of a mens 9.5, at least a full size smaller than my son usually wears? Maybe theres an explanation, although I cant think of what it might be, and anyway, it certainly should have been carefully explained. It wasnt.I havent decided yet whether our bad experience was a result of ineptitude or ill will; did I or my son offend this guy in some way? Did we say something that made him want to treat us with contempt? Or was he just that incompetent? Am I missing a possible explanation? So now Im stuck; obviously I cant shop there. Im left without a good place to buy shoes in this town.My 2 star review reflects a weighted average of all my experiences here, good and bad.
Walked in. Looked around and picked up a few running shoes. Really looking to buy, but didn’t get any help. I guess I could be wrong, but they didn’t look that busy. Was looking for ANY feedback even a “I’ll be right with you” or simply anything to lead me to believe you are not ignoring me. Walked out passed an employee that didn’t say anything to me. I guess I don’t get it, I want to spend money. This is a for-profit store right?
Just bought a pair of shoes there and the staff was really great, asked me some questions about what I was looking for and then he showed me exactly what I needed. Very knowledgeable. He also gave me some advice on how to properly walk since Im walking a lot during my trip here. I strongly recommend this place.
Ive shopped here before and usually have had a positive experience. Today there was an issue with using a gift card and the more senior staff member Alex needed to be called in. The rest of the staff up to this point had been very helpful and patient and understanding. Alex was instantly aggressive, defensive and showed little to no care. Shouldnt she be able to handle customer disagreement if shes the person in charge? Even the other staff member tried to get her to calm down. Her behavior and attitude was so awful I dont feel I can go back to the store, despite my many other positive experiences.
These guys are great, been into day to get some new running trainers as so much cheaper in U.S. Than UK. mike was very helpful and knowledgable. Had my gait tested and he got out a selection of trainers that might suit me. Came away very happy and with a bargain. Also have lockers and changing facilities which we came back to use later on allowing us to have a run around Central Park which is 2 minutes away. These guys care about running and go the extra mile, thank you Mike.
JackRabbit west side location is awesome!!!! The #1 reason i come here instead of the competitors is because the staff is awesome/friendly and very knowledgeable. BIG THUMBS UP TO JONATHAN 👍👍👍. He really knows his stuff and taught an awesome shoe lacing tip which i will cherished and pass on to other runners. Thanks man!!

2022-03-22Definitely check out this running store. The team here is fantastic.I am from out-of-town and visited the city for the NYC Half this past weekend. Unfortunately I forgot my Garmin watch charger and knew my low battery watch wouldn’t make it to the start line. I visited two stores near Columbus circle and neither place were able to help. I became desperate and called other stores nearby and the wonderful team at Fleet Feet West Side answered my prayers. They had a Garmin charger on hand and offered to charge it a bit for me. They were able to get my watch to half battery and it lasted me my entire race! Their shop has a fabulous selection of socks with all the great brands like feetures, balega, and smartwool. I picked up a great running tank while I was there. They get bonus points for having my favorite Gu flavor: S’mores!

2022-05-11Etan was super helpful! Ive never worn HOKA Bondis before so still TBA on whether they work for me long term, but I definitely felt like it was a great and customized experience overall. Plus they have a great return/exchange policy if it doesnt work out. Remember, feet/gait/conformation are actually incredibly complex and everyones body moves differently, so sometimes things might not work, and thats ok. Thanks team!

2021-09-09I have been going to this location for my running needs for a few years now. Every time I go, it is always a good experience . But this time was better than any I previously had. A few weeks back, my wife and I went in for shoes for her to walk around in and do some arch repair on her feet as prescribed by her doctor. I went in just to get an idea of an upgrade to the running shoes I have for a couple of big races I will participate in. We met an associate named Jonathan and he wowed us with his knowledge and service. He could see we both had problems with our feet and gave great recommendations for both walking and distance running. I was able to walk away with some training shoes recommended to deal with knee pain and low arches. Thanks to him, I have greatly improved my running in a short amount of time. My wife was able to get some shoes to start the repair process on her collapsed arches. Jonathan, Thank you!!!

2021-09-26The salesman was extremely friendly and helpful and its great that you can try the sneakers out on a treadmill and sample a variety of models and brands. But he also gave a very unorthodox recommendation on size - that I should actually buy running shoes two sizes bigger than I had previously been wearing. This turned out to be bad advice - I have suffered from blisters like never before from the Nikes he sold me and Im sure its because of the sizing. A disappointing case of personalized attention going wrong.

2021-08-24Been wearing Brooks Adrenalines for years. Came to this JackRabbit hoping to find new options. A trip last year to Super Runners left me with improper shoes, gifting me shin splints, severe arch pains, and a general mistrust for gait analyses at running stores.JackRabbit is different. I was one of two people at the store, and the salesperson took much time explaining to me my gait and the shoe that I need. After listening to my preferences, she let me try on many sneakers in a wide variety of sizes. We finally settled on Hoka Clifton with insoles, and its been great—perfect for long runs. So far have logged 25 miles and today used them on 14 mile run with no issues. Definitely will go back.

2021-06-11I went in today looking for a pair of recovery slippers. Sadly the ones I wanted werent in stock, but Jonathan helped me pick the perfect pair! They didnt have by size in stock, but he put a pair on hold in another store, which was waiting at the cashier when I arrived! Ill definitely go back as hes knowledgeable about the shoes carried, and knew how to guide me to the perfect pair of slides that are sooooo comfy for my jacked up ankle!

2021-04-10I came to get a new pair of sneakers at the nyc west side store. The sales assistant had me walk and evaluated my pace and gate. Then put me on their treadmill to check if there was anything to correct. After he explained everything he observed, took a new foot measure and asked what style of sneaker I liked. Then brought over 6 pairs, and again had me walk and run to get a feel for them, and suggested me a set of insoles for arch support. Overall the Jack Rabbit staff was very professional, helpful and pleasant. They understood exactly what I was looking for and made excellent sneaker recommendations for my needs. I’ve now been using these non stop and my feet feel great.
