Great restaurant. Clean dining area. The staff is friendly and courteous. Children friendly establishment. The food is great and they do take out and are on delivery apps. The wait isnt too long either. Definitely recommend eating here. Plenty of parking and located along bus line. I will come again.
Tasty, generously portioned Latin American food -- Mexican, Salvadoran, Peruvian and more -- available for takeout or to eat in a nice, friendly atmosphere. We had a tasty pupusa, a chicken burrito that came with a huge sude if rice and beans, and a side of sweet plantains that could feed 4 or 5. All fresh and flavorful.
I ordered from here during the quarantine on a whim looking for something different. I ordered the plantains, rice and beans, and cheese pupusas. Oh man, everything was delicious! I’m so glad a took a chance on this little family restaurant. Huge portions, great prices, and so fresh! I will definitely order from here again.
I heard good things about this place a few years back. The building isnt the nicest, nor the area, but the food was fantastic. The service was good.Im no expert on Peruvian food - but there was not one thing I had that I wouldnt eat again. I went with a friend that is more in tune with this food (living in LI and working in Manhattan) - and he said he is definitely going back with his wife who is Brazilian - so I take it they hit a spot with him.The Enchiladas were excellent - although a little different from what I am used to. Some people use bland to describe this place, but it just wasnt spicy like most Mexican joints. A lot of things had a sweet peppery taste rather than the spicy hot. I didnt think it was bland at all, it really just excited a different part of the palate.Dont expect world class service or dining experience - this is a local joint serving great food at great prices. Warning though: the food looks much smaller in the pictures on the menu. We ordered a good variety of food and it filled the whole table. Even the appetizers were of good portion.I am giving it 5 stars based on the food alone.
Very good South American style cuisine. I ordered grilled chicken breast, rice and beans, and tostones. Everything tasted great and was cooked fresh. This reminds me of a to go restaurant you would see in Ecuador or Peru. The portion size is great, and could be two meals for an average person. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very laid back, so it will take some time to get your food. The food was well worth the wait. I will be back.
The food was good, the prices were excellent. The server wasnt exactly warm to us, but she wasnt exactly rude either. Food came out in a staggered order seeming without rhyme or reason, but that was fine because we were sharing everything anyway. The Latin American dishes were good and fantastically cheap. Id recommend stopping in if youre in the area.I was expecting more flavor out of Peruvian food, but I have no basis for that expectation. The pork over yuca was essentially bland, but tasty because it was fried. The enchilada was fantastic, with lots of chicken and good spicing and toppings. I had a papusa, which was tasty and very cheap. Service was quick, and I was definitely happy with the overall experience.
This is my fifth time here - another hit. I ordered take-out this time, and the woman who gave us the food opened every container to show us what it was. The order was correct and packed so well that nothing leaked or got cold on the way home. We had pupusas with liroco greens (new to me, and delicious), corn tamales (sweet and fluffy) with cream, Eggs Flores (yum), and the shrimp scampi dinner (with a generous serving of shrimp). Sides of rice and beans and both green and ripe plantains were included. Everything was delicious. As usual, all the other customers were speaking Spanish, which is always a good sign in a Latin American restaurant. Theres a big TV that was showing futbol.
First time trying out the place. Was super excited to find a Latino spot so close to our new apartment. Ended up being a big disappointment. Ordered salchipapas, the soft tacos made with pork and the tres leches cake. The salchipapas were basically frozen fries you can get at a super market, the hots dogs looked burned. The tacos are just tortillas and meat.(Granted I don’t eat beans and they do give you your choice of white or yellow rice) The meat lacked any real flavor. And finally, the cake I was so looking forward to. Was frozen? Safe to say I’m not going back.-all of this was to go-
This was my first time eating here , I am Puerto Rican and I usually cook Latin food . The rice was too mushy and the beans were under cooked , chicarron Freitas was dry and the steak was really bland . There was a soggy overstuffed potato ball on a slice of lettuce and the only thing that I actually enjoyed was the fried yuca even thought I only eat yuca boiled . No plastic utensils or napkins provided , only one waitress and really slow service .
The only part I liked about here were the pupusas and the orchata. Besides that TERRIBLE. Service was really disappointing. Seems like u bothering for just being there. Ordered a sopa de res and it was the most disgusting soup I have ever got, sour, not a good taste at all. Chicharron con Yuca oily, kinda burn, oil taste old. Just not a good experience. And to be treated the way u are treated here then might as well not go at all.
Recently my wife, who is a Salvadoran, has been craving pupusas. The problem is that Salvadoran restaurants are few and far between in upstate new york. A random desperate google search led to an hour long drive to Flores Family Restaurant. We were not disappointed and will be making the drive again in the near future. The prices were good and the food great. We highly recommend the pupusas and the chicken tamales. If Flores restaurant were closer we would be there every week.
The service is phenomenal, the food was spectacular and the place was very clean and welcoming. I have been in Schenectady for 8 years yes and I have never been there but it was worth it and it was AWESOME... I RECOMMEND EVERYONE IN SCHENECTADY TO GO TO FLORES FAMILY RESTAURANT. THANK YOU FOR SUCH GREAT SERVICES. I WILL BE BACK WITH MORE PEOPLE. THANKS AGAIN.
This restaurant is a failure. If you can’t cook Peruvian food then don’t offer the menu. Horrible food (LOMO SALTADO & STEAK A LO POOR). The worse thing about it is that they didn’t have any hot sauce what so ever and instead tried to offer me frank’s buffalo wing sauce.I dont recommend to anyone, your better off going to a 7-11This restaurant is a failure !!! If you dont know how to make a lomo saltado or a steak a lo poor, then DONT DO IT! ... and the worst thing is, they had no chili to serve. They want to offer me “Frank’s Sauce” (the sauce used to make buffalo wings) ....I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE.

2022-04-03This is my first time trying this place. When I try the food it got me really sick. I had to end up in the emergency room where I end up having food poisoning. I don’t think they take time and cook the food really well. The food tasted really weird to me.

2021-11-29Ordered Take out. Veggie Burrito was delicious, rice and beans were amazing. Bean and cheese Pupusa were delicious especially with the sauce that came along. All around no complaints. Also I asked them to surprise me with their favorite flavor of Jarrito and they left a note on the bottle mentioning it was their favorite. Gave it more of a personal feeling 10/10 would recommend.
