Highly recommend this place for computer repair. I accidentally used a screwdriver that triggered a spark on the motherboard. I thought it was dead and was ready to toss it out. Saw this shop from Google map and send my laptop to be fixed with little hope of recovery. Cant believe David was able to fix the motherboard and my laptop is reborn!!! Saved me a thousand bucks!
Ive been trying to put an SSD Drive on my 2015 iMac for a while, and theres something about NEIGHBOR COMPUTER that always caught my attention, I always read the reviews & do research online before bringing my stuff anywhere, I cant be any happier with the job Dave did on my computer, its was dumb slow before , now is like its a brand new MAC. hes so knowledgeable & gives you a fair price. down below are some photos from the before & after, he even clean up all that dust that was stuck on the fan blades & that wasnt part of the job!! just paid for an SSD replacement . Dave is the Man ! Brought in my machine. He took it in. Said he will look it over and see whats wrong with it. He later contacted me with his findings and went over what he can do to fix it and the cost of the repair. All went well and he was very professional and informative about my computer problem and how it was repaired. All is good with Dave da Man.

Unfortunately, the laptop stopped working again within a day. David changed the mother board and didnt charge any additional money. He also provided 3 month warranty. I got liquid damaged on my MacBook Pro last week , apple store could not get any data from my laptop . I am so glad I found this computer store . My Macbook Pro 2020 had a black-screen problem recently, I visited the apple genius bar but the technicians there cannot retrieve any data from it. I found this store and their technicians successfully repaired the mother-board and recovered all the data. Their service and technology are so much better than the genius bar! This place is really good when it comes to repairing electronics in a timely matter. First time I came here because my hinges broke. They fixed it in a week. Second time I came because my computer wouldnt charge. They fixed it in a day and a half. Always come here because their prices are fair and their service is great.
The first laptop I took for a consultation after a water spill he told me itd be too expensive to fix. I took his advice and ended up just replacing it. If something is not worth the cost of repairs, David will tell you straight up. Highly recommend this place and kudos to David for his responsiveness and expertise. I had a laptop that would only boot to bios screen. David took it in even on the eve of the New Years day. After thoroughly checking the computer, David decided it was not worth to repair as the motherboard had malfunctioned. He was upfront and gave good advices and did not push for expensive repairs. David gave me a good lesson today -- never buy iBUYPOWER.My computer was randomly turning itself off and it turns out iBUYPOWERs proprietary liquid cooling fan was a junk. Given the PSU was also their own no-name brand, I asked David to swap out the PSU for a better one and my computer no longer shuts down by itself.Thanks David!
I had a not-that-old gaming PC experiencing sudden, random restarts for more than a year. After exhausting all efforts to fix the problem, including paying Micro Center $45 for them to tell me they couldnt do anything, I decided to try an indie shop.No appointment needed. I just brought my desktop to this little place and was told to jot down my contact info and a brief description of the problem. That was it. It took not 24 hours to get a phone call from the guy who informed me that my PC was essentially a dud, and that Id be better off buying a new computer. Obviously not the answer I wanted to hear, but I appreciated his honesty. No charge for the assessment; no attempt to convince me to spend hundreds of dollars for replacement parts. Just the plain, hard truth (something all-too-lacking in America today). His parting advice was to go for an Intel processor instead of AMD next time.This guy is My Guy from now on.😊

Not only that, when I went to pick it up, he also gave me some advice on what to do to ensure the new SSD lasts longer. All you have to do is present him with your computer, tell him whats the problem and he will check it out, and you also have to write your name and phone number so he can contact you about your computer. Over the next few days, he will contact you via text message to talk to you about problem, the price for fixing it, and the estimate time to finish it. Overall, its an excellent computer repair shop.
I came here because of how highly reviewed it was online and it definitely didnt disappoint! I spilled water all over my MacBook Air and it wouldnt turn on at all. I was devastated because I had only had it for a year and thought I would have to buy another one. David was super helpful and friendly and got back to me really quickly telling me that even though the damage was severe they could try to fix it for $400- a pretty fair price considering my mac is one of the older models and it was on its death bed. Not even a whole week later and Im currently typing this review on my fixed laptop and its working just as well as it did before! The person at this store helped fix the broken hinges on my laptop. The actual MSI computer repair services would have charged me $65 just to look at it, and I dont even know how much the actual repair would have costed. But this shop, though, went and looked at my computer for free and gave me a reasonable price for the repair a day later. I actually got my computer 2 days after I left it with them. It was fast, convenient, and the people were nice. I will be coming to this shop whenever I need any more repairs.

I have a MacBook Pro with some liquid damage and charging port damages. I went to Apple and they were going to charge me approximately the cost of the laptop itself or even more. I had given up hope fixing it. I’m glad to find an alternative area to get my laptop fix with an even lower cost ! They were able to fix both my liquid damages and charging port for $450. I wish I had known this location earlier. Very satisfied!

Great service, fair price, and kudos for going the extra mile to David. I brought in my laptop with cracked casing and thought it was due to being dropped several times. However, David expertly explained to me that it was due to the battery problem. He not only helped me replace a new battery but also advised me to not leave it charged overnight when not used which caused the battery to swell and crack the case. He also gave me a few other tips. Normally, I would wait for a few months to see test the battery quality. However Davids exceptionally good service is worth the 5 stars and my trust. Will definitely recommend my friends to David.

Found this place on Yelp and brought my four-year-old MacBook Pro which kept freezing for a diagnostic. David was extremely helpful and provided prompt updates via text during the diagnostic which later discovered an issue with the logic board. I appreciated his promptness, customer service, and recommendations for a new laptop once I decided not to pay the cost of the repair for my pro. And best of all - the diagnostic was free! I had taken my laptop (Lenovo G-470 Model) to other 2 repair shops but they were not able to fix my laptop. It was sitting unused for 2 years. Mr David fix my laptop within very reasonable price. It had mother board issue, and he does not charge for checking the PC. He gives the estimation after checking the laptop. He is a good person, and honest speaker. I wish his success always.
Extremely prompt and helpful, my computer kept turning off on its own, replaced power cord and still did it, assumed it was something wrong with the circuit or sth, turns out it was probably the faulty outlet on my houses end. Even so, they were honest about it and even offered a free power cord with no charge. Trustworthy and fast and easy to communicate with. Will def come back if i come across any issues with any of my computers in the future.

You will not find a more honest and fair computer repair shop. I sent my laptop to them all the way from Washington DC from recommendations on the forums. Unfortunately my computer was too far gone to be fixed, but very fast communication and diagnosis was given (with great detail). They will not pressure you into fixing things to make and buck and give you honest recommendations.

These guys are the best! I purchased their service for an old dell laptop that would nolonger charge the battery. The battery charged ok in my sisters machine so I knew there wasa motherboard charging circuit problem.After I purchased the service, my health began to fail and I didnt sendthe laptop in for about 4 months. By far the greatest tech service I have encountered. I dropped off my MacBook Pro two nights ago and immediately got a diagnostic on what was wrong with my laptop the next morning. Ive had the pleasure of having my 2015 macbook pro here with David and I am extremely pleased and more than content with the service he provided here at his store.I came here because my macbooks trackpad and keyboard suddenly stopped working. I needed to get this fixed ASAP because of work related things and David got to me after 1-1.5 hours that same day. He was very accommodating and caring to my situation. A month later, the problem started happening again, and David took care of me and my problem yet again with NO CHARGE because I was still on the 90 day warranty. These guys are the best, hands down! I took a DELL laptop to them that had a fried hard drive. They were honest with me about how much the parts I would need cost them, then they told me what they would sell me the parts for.They did a great job fixing my laptop and did it in around 3 HOURS! David is the Man as far as I am concerned. Ive taken 3 different macs to him over the last week and hes done an awesome job of repairing them. Hes honest and he will let you know what is the best and most affordable solution to your repair problem. Plus hes fast.I always find him friendly and he always made me feel that I could call to ask him how the work is going or if I wanted him to look at some other thing I was concerned about. I tried a couple of other repair places in flushing but I was never really that happy with their service. Im glad I discovered him. Its like having a reliable trust-worthy mechanic. Did not deliver as promised, tried to overcharge on a part. Lied to me that the part I then personally brought in was broken. Noticed inconsistencies in pricing between different store workers. It was supposed to be 70 for labor which I would happily pay, and the laptop keyboard either 120 or personally acquired. Market price was clearly not 120, since I acquired it for 70 and it included the across borders shipping.A note on the lie, it was likely he didn’t know that the keyboard was not even supposed to be directly attached to the motherboard. I ended up fixing it myself with the keyboard he claimed was broken.You claim to be upfront but if you didn’t want to fix it for what I was gonna pay, then just say you won’t. And you were the one who actually offered that condition!

Excellent experience with David, my laptop had 2 problems. first was overheating and he fixed it by cleaning the dust off the fan and replacing the thermal paste on the cpu and gpu. got it back and a second problem occurred where the laptop kept restarting. sent it back and he fixed it by reinstalling the software. tested some games on it and video editing. so far so good. told me to contact him again if there are any issues that occurred again. no charge on the second return! reasonable pricing too
I initially took my Lenovo laptop here for a broken screen. David and his techs gave me a reasonable quote and fixed it in a timely fashion. My laptop didnt boot up after a windows update so I found David on Yelp. Prices were fair and he fixed the problem really quickly. Honestly the best experience I have ever had. Not only was the customer service beyond perfect, the worker, David was extremely knowledgeable towards computer hardwares. He gave fantastic advice towards what type of computer you want to build as well as issues you have.I wanted to build my own computer but didnt want to risk the damages that would follow and I was a noob at it so after doing some research, I found the parts that I wanted which to my surprise, my desktop size was too small.Save yourself lots of time by going to this place and asking for their advice instead of waiting 2-3 days with customer support from other companies and then realizing that you would have to purchase a new case and additional parts.David was beyond helpful as he was able to acquire all the parts that I didnt have and needed while building my desktop in 1 day. Great service! This would be my togo choice if I encounter any phone or laptop problems. My laptop can only work if open at a certain angle. I came to the store and asked for some repair. He is so honest and told me to go to Apple store where they would fix it for free. It turns out this problem is common and he explained the flexgate scandals to me. I am so grateful! Save me at least 500 bucks!!! I will recommend this place to anyone!

Had a laptop that kept booting up slowly and eventually didnt boot up at all. went to David, who not only immediately understood the root of the problem and carefully explained the possibilities and issues (mechanical hard drives arent great on flights with jostling, laptops should always be turned off and not just on sleep mode during travel etc.), but promptly fixed it, replaced the parts and backed up my files from the damaged hard drive. it was ready to go within a few hours the same afternoon. affordable, knowledgeable, and quick service, what more could you ask for?

Great experience here! Took my laptop to get my screen fixed and it was a complicated situation seeing as how the laptop was an ASUS and touchscreen. I broke the screen and since its touchscreen, the screen was compressed and my laptop processed the compression as the screen being touched which made it difficult to do anything. The man working there was extremely honest in telling me that the cost of the screen repair might not be worth it since the computer itself wasnt worth much in retail. So rather than charging me $300 for repairs, he simply disabled a touch screen setting that fixed the main problem my computer was having. Didnt charge a thing. Thank you!
I usually dont have much confidence in computer repair stores. My old Thinkpad was broken and wont start, I dont really care about the laptop but I do need to recover some files from the hard drive. I brought the computer in and the staff in the store was very helpful, they did a free assessment and were honest about the issue - the hard drive had issues, should be able to fixed, and everything else is fine with the computer. I had experience with other stores before where they tricked you into replacing more parts than needed, so I was very surprised (in a good way) by how honest they are!The price was reasonable, I left the computer there, they told me it will take 2 days but they called after 1 day for me to pick up. They also clean the computer as well, which was a free service.Overall, Im very happy about their service, the price is reasonable, and they are very honest about the problem and fix. Id definitely recommend them to my friends.
Neighbor Computer Services provides excellent and reliable customer service! Randomly found this place when my iPhone stopped abruptly and couldn’t be turned on... The phone was fixed without any charges because nothing was damaged. He did suggested that I should backup all the files because the motherboard was very unstable. I requested them to take a look at my broken MacBook Pro and see if there’s any way to fix it. They gave me honest opinions and explain why I am better off not to waste money to fix my laptop. I highly recommend this place, and I’d go back to Neighbor Computer Services for any repairs in the future.

I went into Neighbor Computer Services last Friday after accidentally formatting my phones microSD card (leading to a loss of family pics and videos as well as lecture notes I had saved). David was incredibly kind and helpful in his approach to my issue. He offered a FREE evaluation of my drive to see if anything can be recovered and even stayed with it all weekend long to ensure that anything he can do on his part is done! To our dismay, he couldnt find anything to salvage but mentioned what steps I can take to try and recover the data. All in all, great business, great owner and highly recommended! 👌👌

Went Saturday because my son broke the mouse on my laptop. David, Im guessing hes the owner told me that he can fix it for 80 dollars but all I need was an external mouse for 5 bucks. My experience could not have been have better. I had an issue with the software on my laptop that arose after NCSs 30 day warranty. By all rights, they could have decided to charge me again, but they chose to go above and beyond my expectations. They told me not to worry about it and that I could come back in about an hour to pick it up. No where else would provide this kind of service, and not only do I benefit, but they will also because they have gained my long term loyalty.

Fixed my desktop computer for $65, gave it back to me the next day. This store offers the best service and has very friendly/helpful and knowledgeable staff. Unlike the other stores where they charge upfront just to diagnose what the problem is on your computer, this store (NCS) wont charge you anything unless they actually manage to fix the computer, which they do with great certainty. I highly recommend this business, the man I spoke to was very knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. Provided a free diagnostic and even tweaked my computer for free. Basically he fixed my computer for free because he said it was simple and that he wanted to help on college kids. Im not saying expect free services, Im just saying this man is a legend.

The technician at NCS demonstrated to me what the problem was. He replaced the keyboard on the spot for a VERY REASONABLE price. I liked the fact that he was happy to explain things to me and answer my questions. I was also glad that I went to NCS, as apparently many places do not keep so many repair parts in stock. I went here b/c of their good ratings. They deserve them.

David was fantastic. I am visiting NY so I googled what was around me. Luckily I found this shop. I have a MacBook Air and a little water spilled onto the keyboard. End of the day, the work was done, and I was able to get it back and back to working on my laptop again.
Greatly recommended!! My phone had a battery problem and came to a point where it stopped charging. Apple told me it wasnt a battery problem but a problem with loge tech board itself and told me to replace the phone instead. LIES. Came here and it WAS the battery problem. I got my phone fixed in less than 30 mins. Almost spent hundreds of dollars for no reason. Shame on you apple.

2022-06-23They just built the best gaming computer that I could have asked for. It is one of the best computers in the world that was a great price! They put in a Ryzen 9 9500x cpu, and a rtx 3090Ti. It runs Fortnite and Halo so smoothly and incredible well! So excited not to have any lags or hiccups!!! They also put in the best liquid cooling system that is around so my computer doesn't even get warm. Also put in one of the best SSDs a Samsung 970 evo plus 1TB so it turns on in a few seconds! So fast! They built this computer in two days with a 1 year warranty! Highly recommend them if people want to get a computer that plays games or if they need a workhorse computer! They know everything about gaming computers!

I hardly write reviews but this review is a must for the excellent service they provide. Will definitely be going to them for all my PC & laptop repairs.Update: Went back for a fan replacement (old one was making too much noise). Once the fan had arrived, David texted me right away. 2022-01-28I have obtained services from David twice. The first was an Asus I used to own that stopped turning on. Turns out the charging port got messed up. He fixed it and even provided me with a new charger. The second was most recently and it was my current HP laptop. The screen was black when turned on. He quoted me on a price finding out that there was an issue with the LED light. It turned out there was an issue with the motherboard as well. He replaced my entire screen for one that incidentally was touch screen. He did not change the price as he quoted me on one already. I was amazed at his fidelity and talent for fixing my laptops I had to leave a review. David has been my go to tech person for computer issues for the past 5 years. He provides quality work at an exceptional price. Totally recommend.

David has been servicing my laptop and desktop for several years now and has provided phenomenal service every time. The attention to detail and quality of care to the customer is something you only find with someone who truly loves their craft. In less than 2 hours he was able to troubleshoot a drive issue and completely reconfigure my system, I can not praise this man enough.

2022-07-01Very quick pc rebuild/repair. I built my pc wrong and he rebuilt it for me in a matter of minutes. He even gave me parts that I was missing for free. I checked around many pc repair shops and this shop was the cheapest especially for the high quality service. There is also warranty which he doesnt charge extra for. He told me anytime there is a problem hit him up free of charge, but obviously depends on what kind of problem it is.

2021-04-28Really Great service!!!!! Strongly recommend hereI went to another store before and couldnt find out what the problem. Until I couldnt stand that my new PC kept freezing randomly, so I went here and David helped me a lot, he found out is the CPU problem in just a few days even said is really hard to know what parts are defective before he starts.Now after replaced the parts it works perfectly!
