Foleys in New York
Foleys in other cities:
Had a great time at Foleys last night! The food was amazing, the waiter was friendly, and they were very honest. I accidentally left my purse on the back of my chair when we walked out. I realized my mistake a few blocks down, so we turned around. They had just moved my purse to a safer spot and everything inside was just as Id left it. I would definitely recommend going there if youre looking for good food and a laid back atmosphere.
Nice bar. I had just landed in NY (out from the West) and wanted a place near my hotel. Foleys was in walking distance and had fried ravioli listed... Beer and some snacks? Why not?I Arrived and was greeted by the bartenders (Raul? and David). We chatted and they gave me some awesome recommendations of places to visit while in town.My food was out in no time. It was hot and fresh. The fried ravioli were pretty tasty and the marinara /tomato sauce was a bit lack luster (but enjoyable). My Philly steak was pretty good! The drinks were great. And the bartenders made sure I had water. I chatted with a few locals at the bar (thanks Christina for your recommendations also!) I had a great evening and was able to unwind after a long day of travel!
Good restaurant and bar, had a good time here. Enjoyed the food and drinks, waitress was nice and service was good. Enjoyed looking at the autographed baseballs and whatnot on the wall. Would recommend and will go back when I need to meet up with someone in this Penn Station area for drinks and some food.
The pub is full of all kinds of sports memorabilia. The bartenders will engage you freely and you might learn something ;) Also, you never know who you may see here so keep your eyes open! Great pub, fine food, fantastic conversation with staff and patron alike. Easy to get to and worth hanging out for a few hours in.
Awesome bar! Very hospitable! I went there the past two years with a large group of fellow New Jersey Devils fans before we went over to Madison Square Garden to watch the Devils play the Rangers! Both times our group went there, we had a great time!!! Staff treated us very well and even promoted us on their social media accounts! Highly recommended! Also, they have so much autographed memorabilia, its almost crazy that they could get that much! Very fun place to watch sports, have some drinks, and hang out with friends!
The best baseball bar in New York, and the only place to watch a big game. This place is packed and rockin on Opening Day and during the playoffs. But Ive never had to wait for a beer--service is good, and the food (standard pub fare) is delicious. Fans will also love the walls lined with memorabilia.
Very friendly pub, great staff especially Ali (the greatest) food was amazing (I couldnt decide between the David Robertsons Chicken Pot Pie & the Shepherds pie, so I had both on Finns Favourites with curry fries and my son had the Jucy Lucy and said it was the BEST BURGER hes EVER had). Very well laid out with baseballs everywhere signed by sportsmen, celebrities and even Pope John Paul II. Soccer/football/baseball and basketball memorabilia everywhere. Great friendly pub thoroughly enjoyed as well.
After spending the week in NYC on business, stopped in for a few pints with a friend before heading to Penn Station for the train ride home.Sat at the bar for a few hours, enjoyed several pints, and took in the sights and sounds of a neighborhood watering hole. Tons and tons of sports memorabilia on the walls and ceilings. Seems like baseball far outweighs anything else, but what are you going to do.Solid service, decent prices, and friendly patrons.I enjoyed the ice-filled urinals.
When we first walked in, we almost didn’t stay because we weren’t sure how it would be. So Glad we stayed!!!! The food was delicious, the service was great as well. We had our 11 year old daughter with us and she loved the food as well!! Thanks for the great service, wonderfully mixed drinks and food.
Went to watch/listen to the Mets game, they had some trivia night going, so I was disappointed since it was touted as a Mets bar which usually had game sound based on an article I found online. That said, bartender was a great guy and very attentive. Good selection ofbeers in tap. LOTS of memorabilia on the walls. Would go back again.
A sports bar, yes - BUT it didnt have that vibe. The decor was kitchy with loads of baseball memorabilia. I thought that was fun.The drinks were midtown priced, the nachos were HUGE and were - midtown priced. The location cant be beat for subway access - since it is close to all the Penn Station / Herald Square lines. With the Empire State Building across the street, i expected the place to be packed, but it wasnt....comfortably full. There are several similar pubs on the street, in a row. I would bring someone here from out of town.
Everybody loves Foleys, come on!Just in front of the Empire State Building, a true Irish pub with an incomparable atmosphere created by an unbelievable number of sports memorabilia, mostly baseball related.A great draft beer selection, very good food, maybe a little bit pricey, but still a great place to stop for a (couple of) beer.Ps - I kindly suggest to take a moment for a stop in the restroom, its worth it!
Foleys is one of the best sports bars in the world let alone NYC. You will not find a place with more authentic sports memorabilia anywhere other than a museum which Foleys has as well. The Irish Baseball Hall of Fame is located inside of Foleys. Great people, good food and a great atmosphere to take in a game no matter the sport.
We came here on complete accident on our trip to NYC. After standing in line for the ESB for 3 1/2 hours, we needed somewhere to eat. The whole place is decorated with sports memorbilia. The food was excellent, and the service was even better. Constant Can I get you anything?s. Fast, delicious, and totally worth it to go out of your way for. I am a little suprised that they are priced so reasonably because the food and service is so great.
After walking up and down the streets of Ktown with my friend, we came across Foleys while looking for Jack Dempseys.Oh my, this is my NEW favorite bar. Sports memorabilia covers the wall, the bar is long and has a great selection of alcohol AND beers AND they still believe in buy backs.I also tried their pub pizza and it was deliciously thin/crispy!I cant wait to go back with more friends, especially my baseball lovers. Check out the signed wall of baseballs and the phone charging station!
Visited NYC and researched this bar before coming into city to watch the Iowa State vs. Texas game (11/17) as it was the only bar advertised as an Iowa State bar. Manager refused service to our group because he perceived our group to be too inebriated. While I understand this is totally within his right to refuse service to any customer, he made a terrible judgement call, my wife is pregnant and he claimed she’s was drunk. I place zero blame on the waitress as she acted reasonable but the manager refused to hear us out despite our protest. I would NEVER recommend this place to a fellow Iowan.
Foleys is an incredible place and its become my pre-Mets game meal. If youre a fan of baseball, or sports in general, you need to stop at Foleys. You can grab a drink at the bar, or head to the back and stay for a meal. There are plenty of tvs so you can catch the game and be sure to explore the memorabilia thats near your table. I visited before the special David Wright Mets game last season and we were sat next to some David Wright memorabilia, which was extra fun. Every employee Ive spoken to has been wonderful and friendly and the food is tasty. I encourage everyone I know visiting the city to stop by. Well worth a trip.
Great location next to times square, easy to get to from subway. Good St. Louis Rams bar to attend a game for with an overhead projector to view the game in the back of the bar. I ordered the Sean Caseys Irish Burger and it was a bit bland and underwhelming. However, the sweet potato fries were on point!
Found this bar while out for a stroll on a sunday. Great place to watch sport. On the day in question English premiership games were being screened and after that American football. Had a few pints and some food. Could not fault either. Staff very friendly. Seems to have links with Cavan in Ireland.
I got so sick from their staff not following proper safety peocedures when confronted with allergyns i began projectille vomitting blood in there restroom after my second cold burger i left still quite ill askibg not for compensation when i called to talk to thw manager asking not for money or any material except to warn him his staff may be endangering pwoplw and asking nicely for him. To investigate he began to become hostile and threatening anf informed me that there is no issue on his staff and they dont wear gloves nor need to .... mind you this is illegal since even washing hands does not rwmove all microorganisma or viruses leading to the big five as servsafe calls it including neurovirus and ecoli i am rwaching out to the board of health protect yourselvws from this dangerous restaurant and hot headed manager owner

2020-02-18Really cool bar with a great sports history decor (primarily baseball). Great beer selection, friendly staff and the food looked great (although we didnt eat there). Really close to Empire State Building, so convenient if you are visiting there.

2020-02-05Was here for the Super Bowl and they handled the crowd very well. The dining room was pretty full, buy the servers made their rounds and took care of every table handily.Good atmosphere, lots of sports paraphernalia literally EVERYWHERE, and a pretty good menu with plenty of good appetizers, great wings, and some Irish classics. Nothing bad can be said about Foleys. Also, being a St. Louis Cardinals fan, I love coming here during Baseball season.

2020-01-19The place is beautiful and the beers I tasted were amazing. But there was a weird thing a credit card was required to order even if you gonna pay by cash. The bar tender tried to calm me down saying that is a bit weird but there will no problem. At the end I paid by cash and there wasnt problem but I had to put it here.

2019-09-02A hundred year old Irish pub around the corner from MSG with sports memorabilia that you can take in for days on end. Our bartender Paddy kept us entertained with hilarious stories and tourist recommendations that you will never find at corporate bars. If youre looking for an ultra cool spot in Manhattan for a pint or three, you have to check this place out.

2018-03-13One of the rare-to-find unique pubs in midtown, definitely worthy a beer or two if in the area (after work or as a tourist in a hotel). Lots of baseball stimulus to peruse, so even when batting solo, you wont be reading the menu 18 times before you finish your drink.

2018-12-03This place seems like a local bar. Not a tourist trap restaurant/bar at all! We were starving after visiting the Empire State Building and found Foleys on Google across the street from the venue. Wow do they have sports memoribila! So much to look at! The waitress sat us at the table pictured below. Unbeknownst to her, my wife and I are from Pittsburgh! We couldnt believe it! Then she tells us that they are also a Penguins bar! How cool! The food came quickly and was delicious. Next time we visit New York well definitely have to make a detour to visit Foleys!

2018-11-19A cool New York Irish bar. I dropped in for a quick pint and was impressed. Theyll have several games on the television, depending I suppose, on the season and the crowd.

2019-09-22The walls here are epic; museum-like even. There is sports memorabilia that brings up tons of good memories and invokes a lot of...whoa, they have that. Really cool bar to walk around in.
